(Spoilers for a majority of Ghost eyes)

Ok well yes I love this webtoon, im gonna be honest, I can’t review it only with the first 10 chapters / episodes. I have read all of ghost eyes around a year ago. I’m currently re-reading it. 

Favorite character: Carmelo DeMonte  (Gay Italian bully)

MAKE HIM INTO A MARKETABLE PLUSHIE AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!

Favorite scene: I have multiple. From the earlier parts I like the first interaction with Luther, the catty uncle character or in recent I enjoyed the scenes with Carmelo and Tobias having to deal with each other. Like when Tobias attempts to jump off the bridge and Carmelo has to save him, or when Tobias meets a dog for the first time in his sheltered life and gets so excited. (They should end up together… please)

The style growth!!! The old art style is nostalgic but I prefer how the new style looks. (Your honor Carmelo and Tobias)

Ok ok actual review time!!

Review: Ghost eyes is a very good series id say. It’s a horror and does depict dark themes. There are times I admit I have no clue what’s going on. Which as of current is the recent releases. I don’t care for whoever this character is and their past take me back to focus on Carmelo and Tobias!!

That aside the story is very interesting following a 15 year old boy with an extremely religious family and his struggles with being cursed, solving the mystery behind the being who is possessing him and struggle through high school for the first time. Very good story idea. Though I hate how short each chapter is, it’s very difficult to get immersed when its usually very short and on rare occasions 10 to 15 pages.. ghost eyes is ongoing and i understand that Mr. Circus papa has multiple jobs but like I feel like they should push back their releases so there’s more content for the fans.

I enjoy the parts of the story when we get insight on these characters. Wether that be the scene where Rudy is alone in the mirror after ripping off his finger nails when self harming last, or when Tobias is vulnerable in scenes such as when his father is beating him or whenever he’s alone with his thoughts, Carmelo’s past with being bullied for his accent so he repressed it and became the bully. (Bro was called Mario too many times. that’s actually how the scenes went if I remember right) and how Emilio hates his dad.

Another rant cus why not lmao

I really hate the way the potential for Tobias x Emilio to be an actual WELL WRITTEN DARK ROMANTIC relationship was thrown out because mcp decided to was an amazing idea to add the odd age gap (reminder Tobias is 15 and Emi is 17 and yeah it's just 2 years but emi would turn 18 in January while Tobias turns 16 in AUGUST and the main storyline takes place in November, 2008. So that would be Emi would be an ADULT A LEGAL ADULT having some weird crush for a MINOR and yeah, the age of consent is 16 in most states but it is still lowkey weird) and do NOT get me started on the fucking S/A holy shit omfg. I saw someone before mention how weird and gross it was when someone called the s/a scene "kinky" sexualizing both Tobias and Emilio, MINORS, in a horrific scene. The BL tag on the Ghost Eyes icon should have been added on LATER ON or added for a different reason other than the s/a scene being considered a "kinky" scene between 2 males. I also kinda hate how Emilio and Tobias's relationship/alliance (?) Sort of improves later on but like WHY COULDN'T WE HAVE THAT EARLIER??? And i get Ghost eyes is a dark story, but idk this is just my opinion but I reallyyyyy hate it when creators use s/a as shock value. Anyway, that's all I got. Tobimilio was lost potential. Sigh.

whatever dwayne x francis’s ship name is — 10/10. not adding anything else cause there’s honestly nothing to add

tobimelo — 7.5/10. i don’t really have any problems with this ship. compared to others, it’s definitely not the worst one out there. while i’m not the biggest fan of tobi in relationships, if it HAD to happen i wouldn’t be horrifically upset if it was with carmelo, if that makes sense. my only problem is the play scene, and it may have been edburt, but carmelo obviously wasn’t aware of that.

rudias — 6/10. i’m very very conflicted on this one. so yes and no to it. had the halloween thing not happen, i’d probably be a little more open minded to rudias. here’s why i’m not. besides the attempted murder, i just think tobias is considered too violent and too unreliable for rudy. i’m not saying they’re not good as friends, in fact i loved when their friendship was still good and even making progress. i just think it’s not likely for them to be in a healthy relationship but it’s only a 6 because there are worse ones.

rudymilio — 5/10. okay the thing with me is i don’t even like relationships with rudy period. but this one, i don’t like specifically because i don’t get it. mostly because of emilio’s stalker-like personality with everybody, which. probably wouldn’t end in a relationship with rudy or anybody tbh

rudymelo — 2/10. i like carmelo as a character, right? not saying i excuse or approve of his actions, but when he’s not an asshole, i like him. but what i can’t ignore is that his treatment literally drove rudy to suicidal thoughts. he even debated suicide until he heard his mother and tobias’ voices. like even if carmelo does get better later on, it still doesn’t erase that.

tobimilio — 0/10. nobody in the world could compete with me on the level of hatred when it comes to tobimilio i’m so sorry. to shorten it, tobi could not handle being in a relationship and taking care of someone who’s just as mentally unstable as he is which is emilio. + the whole sa scene — there’s not much to say with that part.

He was familiar with the area. He had roamed it first as a human. His father was particularly fond of going on long hikes, and Alan now thought to himself that it was a damn miracle his old man was still alive with those sorts of bad habits. If he focused, he could recall his father with hiking shoes tightly laced on, a hideous pair of bright yellow shorts and one of those graphic shirts the 80s were so fond of, skipping ahead of him and his siblings, encouraging them all to keep up. He may have been a short man, he could finish 2 hours long hikes at least half an hour early, and no one managed to beat him at this game. “Vamonos Duartes !” Further behind, their mother would follow. Alan realized much later that she wasn’t a slow hiker, but that she simply refused to let one of her children stray from the path. Maybe was she the reason why his father was still alive. Bless her soul.

A nostalgic smile grew on his face though it faded as the sound of leaves being stepped on reached his ears. He could hear one heartbeat, and the sound of someone who was a bit out of breath. Not too happy with steep climbs, huh? The guy was early. Alan expected that. He had been waiting up here for a bit now, with nothing but his thoughts to pass the time. It wasn’t often that he got to do that. He told himself he should do it more often, but he knew deep down already that he wouldn’t. It was a nice thought to entertain.

There was a chance the other would show up here with a weapon, but Alan expected they’d want to at least have a chat with the guy who had the guts to threaten them first. To be sure, the realtor called out “put your hands above your head, starting now,” he should have brought a weapon of his own, but Alan had a last resort plan instead, and a change of clothes in a bag not far from here.

His brown eyes, usually warm, seemed to have lost their usual quality, and looked more like an uninviting cup of cold coffee now, the creases at the corners of his eyes accentuating the severity of the moment. He looked a bit tired too but managed to bite back the urge to yawn.

“You’re a fucking stubborn bastard, ain’t ya,” Tobias Greene laughed as he recognized Alan. It wasn’t a pleasant sound. It resembled a dog barking, one of those large, terrifying dogs. In another context, Alan might have told him not to fucking give tinnitus to the whole place like that, but it wasn’t that sort of setting, was it.

 “I must admit, I wasn’t looking for that. It would have been a lot simpler if you had a thing for dressing like a fluffy mascot or cheating on your wife. Debts,” Alan bit on the tip of his tongue. Some of these were more common than the other, of course.

A day ago, he had left one of Emilio’s photographs in the man’s mailbox with coordinates and a meeting hour. The word alone had been scribbled on as well. It seemed the other respected that wish. Alan couldn’t hear another heartbeat around, except for the fast-paced ones of birds. “I don’t give a shit about what it is you do, I just want your property, and I’m still willing to be generous about it,” because this asshole owned the last apartment in a building that was entirely Alan’s property otherwise, and he wanted to tear the building down. It was too small as well as damn fucking ugly. You didn’t gentrify a neighborhood with that sort of aesthetic.

“That’s it? You made me climb the whole fu-” Alan’s shoulders tensed, and Tobias’ hideous laughter resonated again in the valley. He didn’t like that man at all, yet he smiled. “You said it yourself, I’m a stubborn bastard,” his tone was humorless, and hands on his hips, Alan walked around the small clearing, studying the other. Sure, that guy had dealt with a lot worse bastards than a local businessman, but he didn’t seem one bit stressed by the encounter, and as Alan moved, he didn’t lock his eyes on him. That wasn’t right. His eyebrows furrowed. What was going on in that guy’s head that kept his heart beating so steadily?

In the distance, Alan heard the sound of twigs being stepped on, giving in under the weight of someone.

Eyes grew round. His eyes. Tobias’ eyes. They must have had the exact same thing going through their mind : he's not alone. But while Tobias reached down for his weapon, any sense of sentience had been thrown out of the window and Alan's shift into a beast painfully began.

Pain. Screaming. Red, white. Screaming. Copper on his tongue, warmth in his throat, warmth in his chest. Bang. Pain. Blood. The void. The darkness. Cold.

I don't think Tomilio could even come about, I mean stuff can occur but this is merely Tobias coming to terms with what he wants and wishes to do.

100% Tomilio will be the most toxic possible ship, perhaps surpassing even Rudy x Ben; however, it could really explore both Tobias and Emilio's Characters in some very interesting dimensions.

"okay" get original. the fact that tobias is asking emilio to kiss him again after how messed up it made him the first time?? im not in his shoes but i KNOW he didnt wnjoy it. in tobias's OWN WORDS "I felt like he defiled me" Tobias was TERRIFIED to go to school JUST AT THE IDEA THAT EMILIO WOULD BE THERE. what Emilio did to Tobias is SEXUAL ASSAULT.

Here’s what else bothers me, I KNOW that Tobias wouldn’t know how to function in a relationship with Emilio. I just dont like the thought of tobias being manipulated like that, not always being able to understand that emilio's behavior is wrong. bc the way i see it, tobias does not understand the full issue with emilio's behavior, like he KNEW he didn’t enjoy but he didn’t fully understand the reason Emilio forcing himself on him was wrong. WHICH IS WHY whether intentional or not, emilio would end up putting tobias in bad situations, or indirectly manipulating him because tobias DOES NOT FULLY GET *WHY* EMILIO’S ACTIONS ARE WRONG!!!!

Do not put these two together, they’re both too messed up to have a healthy relationship with ANYONE without working their own stuff out first.

⬆️ this is NOT what you would see or hear from someone who was just “misunderstanding his feelings” none of this was positive, what Tobias felt was pure horror, violation, NOT excitement or love.

Don’t get me started on how unhealthy Emilio’s obsession with Tobias is, not to mention how CLEARLY uncomfortable Tobias is made by it.

So we’re just gonna disregard all of this CLEARLY UNHEALTHY behavior towards eachother on both ends, plus Tobias’s distaste for Emilio’s actions towards him, and flip it all on its head, what, for a ship? A ship that is clearly terrible for both characters? Okay!

There’s a lot more I could get into, BUT I’ll save that for another day, that’s all from me.
