Mat can you tell me how to find and capture a badger? I have a family gathering coming up and I want it to be exciting.

Finding them is the hardest part. They like to be in open areas, near food and earth that’s good for digging. Look for the trails of crushed plants leading to their setts, which are holes in the ground about 2 and a half hands to a foot wide. The holes will be surrounded by tamped-down earth or small rocks.

If you see piles of fresh earth and rocks a pace or two around the holes, that’s a sure sign you’ve found an active sett. Badgers have a distinctive musky smell, too, that can help you find them and their burrows.

They aren’t hard to trap. For the bait, you can use a deer or cow bone, or anything foul-smelling. A dirt hole set works well- that’s where you bury the bait in a small slanted hole behind a distinctive landmark like a rock or small plant. Then place your trap in front of the hole, attach a drag or stake, then bed and cover it.

Badgers are diggers, so it’s better to use a drag than a stake, but if you’re using a stake, make it long or use more than one. Finish off with some bait to the edge of the hole and a call lure.

And bring a nice big sack with no holes! Have fun :)

Yes! I loved this story so much so I created an au based on it.

It's the same principle: an epidemic hits the world, leading to the end of civilization as we know it. All mammals can be infected and the disease evolves over several phases, making the infected more and more dangerous and unrecognizable. Among mammals, only cats are spared.

The humans managed to regroup in some cities and secure them, building a communication and transportation network in the country able to repel the monsters hidden in the still hostile areas.

Unlike the original story, this time it takes place in and around Japan. So, instead of having all the Nordic mythology, it's more based on the oriental mythology and their creatures. 

In this story, only infected people have quirks, which get worse as time goes by. A simple contact against a wound or through the respiratory tract can be enough to infect a non-immune person.

Izuku is a teenager with psychic abilities who can communicate with spirits. Despite not being immune to the Illness and his mother refusing to let him leave their city, Izuku has always wanted to explore the world beyond the known territories. He is also passionate about knowledge, which makes him want to venture further and further.

Until the day he manages to slip away, Izuku helps his mother in a training facility to train the cats they are entrusted with, in order to prepare them to work alongside humans to prevent any unwanted presence, be it demons, spirits or other creatures.

One day, he came across an ad for a team looking for members for an expedition, whether they were immune or not. He decides to try his luck, and leaves for the adventure, leaving only a letter to his mother. His cat, Kacchan, follows him in this.

He eventually manages to join the crew and ventures out, looking for any trace of the ancient civilization and their knowledge.
