At seven years old, your grandfather had put you into self-defence classes.

By nine years old, you had been blacklisted from every self-defence and martial arts program in the country.

It wasn't that you had done something so egregious that every instructor you had would call the next in a frenzied panic warning of your existence—you'd simply been a little...enthusiastic.

But maybe sending four kids to the ER and knocking your third instructor into a water fountain did garner some short of reprisal.

You didn't learn much during the two short years you were taught (all of the hospitalizations you caused were done with impeccably horrible technique), but when your target walks around like two kids stacked in a trench coat, being good at fighting wouldn't have given you that big of an advantage anyway.

You weren't a violent person in nature, but the universe had some sort of vendetta against you and it decided that today was the day it would act upon it, so a couple of enraged actions had come from your hands as of late.

The first of which was after you'd come to the realization that your company was seconds away from going up in flames.

Okay, maybe not seconds away, but someone definitely left a candle unattended in your office.

With a month and a half left before the announcement of Le Désir's biggest campaign since their 2011 "La Vie en Rose" collection, the lack of a face to adorn the company name was becoming more and more apparent.

Liz's lookbook felt like a Pinterest board that would only exist as soulless inspiration for a vision that would never come to fruition, Yujin's proposal had been collecting dust on your desk for weeks, Yeonjun hadn't even bothered finishing a contract, and paying every other employee became another sore reminder of all the work they weren't able to do yet, simply sitting around, answering emails and gossiping all day about the stale cucumber water in the foyer.

After letting off some steam by threatening to deprive your best employees (and friends) of food, the stroll Sunoo had loosely suggested seemed like a fair idea.

It didn't help—mostly because you had not been clearing your head and instead walked the streets with your eyes peeled for someone to manipulate into becoming a model—and barely 20 minutes later, you were ready to go back to the office.

As you were heading back, a small path you'd neglected to notice earlier peaked out from the line of trees along the sidewalk. In a last ditch effort, you'd ventured down the lily-lined clearing.

It wasn't long before a sparkle slipped through the branches, the spectrum of light bouncing through the air and seeping into the space between matter as you continued on your way. The shimmers grew more harsh against your vision the further you walked until the path fully emerged into a clearing onlooking a punchbowl of shine and crystalline speckles: a lake.

As beautiful as the sun's playdate with the Earth was, the spectacle only reminded you of the diamonds around your wrist, the Le Désir name engraved along the underside branding your skin until your blood pooled at the scene and spelled out Shin Yuna's name.

You were not a violent person, maybe that's why you decided to pick up the first rock you saw and chuck it into the lake instead of at someone.

You were not a violent person, maybe that's why you screamed your hate for Shin Yuna's company into the limitless forest instead of at the poor intern who sent the email confirming their cancellation of the collab.

You were not a violent person, maybe that's why you threw your blazer into the grass and walked into the water hoping it would swallow you whole instead of selling your pride to find a celebrity to work with.

You were not a violent person, maybe that's why the second you recognized the face of the man who saved your life, you jumped on his back instead of strangling him—though, your arms wrapped around his neck probably felt all the same.

"What the hell!" He choked out, his hands prying at your forearms. He whipped himself from side to side in an effort to shake you off, but you simply hooked your ankles together in front of his stomach. "What are you doing—" A grunt. "—I literally just saved your life!"

"Exactly!" You shouted, "Why would you do that?! Now I have to live in this stupid world without my stupid brand deal!"

"What the fuck are you even talking about?!"

Through borderline screaming and exasperated groans, the man finally got you off as he fell backwards onto the sofa, holding you in place beneath his weight.

It didn't take much to push him off, watching him fall to the floor between the couch and the coffee table. You grabbed one of his frilly throw pillows and whacked his shoulder, barely missing his head before deciding you might as well hit him there too.

With a squeal, he covered his head with his arms, barely managing to scramble onto his feet and run into the kitchen.

"Get back here!" You exclaimed, the dampness of your clothes not hindering your agility in the slightest. You ran after him, blocking the one entrance to the kitchen as he trapped himself against the sink.

His hands flew out in front of him as if to stop you from getting closer. His chest rose and deflated rapidly like he'd just ran a 5K and the genuine fear in his eyes was illuminated under the flickering pot lights.

"Please," He heaved out, "I have a wife and kids."

"You have three empty cups of ramen and a framed photo of The Weeknd in your room," You deadpanned, "The only wife and kids you have are the ones on your Octodad play through."

"Oh my gosh, did I leave my computer on?" He asked, his hands falling to his sides again.

"Yeah," You replied, dropping the pillow against your thigh as well, "And how are you only at the aquarium? It said you were like twelve hours in."

"I suck at mouse controls—" His annoyed explanation halted itself as his eyes fell on you again. "Wait, shut up, you just jumped me in my own apartment—"

"Do you want me to continue?"

"No!" He shouted, "I-I mean, no. But, I think I deserve an explanation or something?"

You shrugged. "I had a rough day, found that lake, went into said lake, and then your nosey ass thought it was a good idea to pull me out and make me live another dreadful day full of corporate captivity."

"You're talking as if I have any idea who you are—"

You didn't hear a single word that escaped his mouth as your arm swung the pillow at him again.

Maybe those self-defence classes did actually teach you something, because a second later, the man was on the ground.

"Stop moving."

The man winced again as you swiped another drop of hydrogen peroxide along his cheekbone. Every time he flinched, your finger would land the chemical on his nose instead, and the delicate swoop of its bridge was glistening at this point.

Your lips pursed together as you focused on picking away the dried blood and fully coating the shallow gash on his face. You hadn't intended to send him flying to the tiled floor, and you certainly hadn't meant to make him nick his cheek on a part of the glass tile that had chipped off.

The mindless rage you'd felt towards the mystery man quickly dissolved between the feathers of the throw pillow you'd misused for actual throwing. As he rolled onto his back, his hand clutching the side of his face as it contorted out of your full view, your stomach filled with limestone bricks and your airways cleared until your breathing sounded like an echo.

The pillow fell to the floor at the entrance as you fell to your knees by his side.

"Oh my God, are you okay?"

"I mean, probably," He groaned, "But I'm gonna say 'no' to make you feel worse."

And it worked, because here you were ten minutes later, patching up the cut you gave him.

Your clothes were barely dry, and you tried to avoid getting your half-drenched sleeves on his face as you cleaned him up.

You flattened a butterfly bandage over the wound, your fingers crowding on his cheek to make sure the adhesive didn't latch onto itself or crinkle on his skin. As you pulled away the paper, you let your eyes rest from the staring contest they'd started with his freckled face. They decided to settle on the man's eyes, wide as they looked up at you with an innocence akin to a baby deer. A smile etched its way onto your lips.

You looked away to throw out the wrapper and took a seat on the closed toilet, right next to where he sat on the edge of the bathtub.

You had finished atoning for your attack, yet neither of you made an effort to signal that. Instead, you sat in silence, waiting for your involuntary host to welcome the next idea.

But he never did.

"So," You began, trying to ease some of the indecision, "Why did you go after me? In the water?"

The man shrugged. "Isn't that just like...what anyone would do? You see someone in danger, so you help."

You nodded, opening your mouth to speak but being cut off before you even knew what you were going to say. The man crossed his arms over his stomach and raised his eyebrows, glaring at the floor as he said, "They're usually more appreciative of it, though."

Your lips snapped shut again before you scoffed. "I wasn't in danger."

"You were drowning."

"I was taking a dip," You defended, "For an extended period of time."

"Whatever," He groaned.

As the man softly poked at the bandage on his cheek, his attention on the bathmat on the floor, your phone vibrated in your pocket; The man must have picked it up for you because it was laying next to you when you'd woken up.

"Is someone looking for you?"

Your head shot up at the man's crackly voice, his focus on you for the first time since you'd sat down. You cleared your throat. "Yeah."

As much as you wanted to run away from all of your responsibilities and trash your company, people were counting on you. You'd forgotten about that.

"Maybe," You mumbled, "I do appreciate you pulling me out."

For the first time since you'd met him, the man smiled—genuinely smiled. His lips thinned out against his teeth as his smile lines defined themselves in his skin as a way of saying 'you're welcome'.

Happiness looked good on him. You felt bad for almost robbing yourself of the opportunity to see it.

Your eyebrows quirked up as you watched his grin fall back into his normal visage. "What's your name, anyways?"

The man hesitated for a moment, but eventually breathed out an answer, "Heeseung."

"Heeseung," You repeated, testing the name out on your tongue. It slipped between your teeth and fell back on your ears with ease. "I like it."

"Thanks?" He said, "What about you?"

"Y/N," You quickly replied.

"Well, nice to meet you, Y/N." Heeseung smiled. "Now, could we please get out of my bathroom?"

With a quick quip of agreement, the two of you stood up to head back out. Heeseung lead the way, and you couldn't help but admire the way his shoulders straightened out as he passed through the door.

You hadn't noticed it from the way he practically folded in on himself and made himself smaller earlier, but he was quite tall as well, his head barely scrapping by the door frames—though, he did have unusually low ceilings.

And as Heeseung lead you back to the living room, the gears in your brain started moving again, clinking into place and pulling strings around until a sentence formed in your throat.

Ingenuous yet ardent eyes, broad shoulders, impressive height, defined facial features—holy shit.

You'd spent two weeks mulling over your dilemma. All of your employees had bent backwards to solve your issue, you hadn't gotten more than two hours of sleep in 14 days, and every corner of your mind had been plagued with the absence of the most important aspect of the project.

And all you had to do this entire time was try to drown.

Perhaps God felt bad for you, or maybe this was always how things were supposed to work out, but either way, it was as if the weight of the world had been lifted off of your shoulders.

He was right here the whole time, right here with his twin sized bed that his feet definitely dangled off of, with his figurines of characters intended for children, and without any sense of how to carry himself.

"Heeseung?"

He hummed, looking up at you standing in the open space between the hall and the living room as he sat down on the sofa.

i was already packing up everything, as well as getting ready to close the office before going back to my hometown for lunar new year, when Hennessy Zayna knocked on the door, asking for a photoshoot. it seemed like my photoshoot featuring her sister - Bacardi - blew up on social media, and Hennessy really wanted that for herself too.

i could say no... but i didn't. how could i refuse a woman like her, with that look, with that body? so i took everything that i've packed out of their boxes, and got to work. and i must say... these sisters are definitely the it girl.

let's take a look at outfits that will make you the sensation of this lunar new year party. and with that, i'd also like to say that my office will be closed for the next 3-7 days, give or take, since i need to enjoy my holiday too. so come back after that, my models!

Mini VITD Sims Lookbook (Largely Alice Focused Edition)

Hi all -- I ended up downloading and playing with some more Victorian and Victorian-esque CC for Sims 4 last Saturday, looking for some new looks for my Valicer In The Dark versions of Victor, Alice, and Smiler (mainly Alice, as per the title). And, as I'm still getting the next Chill Valicer Save update ready, I figured I'd share the results, in case any of you were interested/wanted some more CC to download! Here we go:

First up, we actually have something that I downloaded from someone’s lookbook post for their Alice Sim a little while ago (I'm afraid I don't remember whose at this point ^^;) – a conversion of Alice’s London dress from Alice: Madness Returns! As in, one Mimoto-Sims ripped this dress straight from the files of that game (along with a bunch of others) and turned it into an outfit in Sims 4! :D I’ve been looking for this for a while, and I’m quite pleased with it, though it is a little weirdly shiny – and if you think Alice suddenly looks a LOT thinner than usual in this dress, she is. Apparently I didn’t make my Sim Alice underweight enough! I think I prefer my Sims 4 version having a waist that doesn’t look like it could snap in half at any moment, though. XD

Okay, onto the CC I actually downloaded on Saturday, with Alice modeling the Ever Elegant Blouse v2 and the Rather Ravishing Skirt v2 from Gilded Ghost’s New Woman set! I ended up pairing these two together because, with the apron, I thought this made another good “maid” Alice outfit – though she looks like she’s working somewhere fancier than Houndsditch in this set, that’s for sure. (Now I’m tempted for her to somehow get her hands on a maid’s outfit from the Van Dort estate when her and Smiler’s attempt to return Victor to his parents ends up in them robbing them for being shitheads who don’t care about their son...) But it’s a nice look for her, and I am THRILLED that this and the other tops from that set worked with her necklace! :D Seriously, so many outfits hide that necklace, and given that it’s suppose to be her wearing Lizzie’s room key, I’d like it to be visible more often than not!

Case in point, the necklace is also visible in this outfit, which is Alice wearing the Jacket Jubilee top with the Perfectly Plain skirt from the New Woman set. This set I just thought looked nice on her, and made a nice – semi-formal? This feels fancier than casual, but not fancy enough to be formal. Like, maybe this is something she’d wear if the gang were heading to the Golden Plum for a nice dinner, or to a park for a trio date. That sort of thing. Not “fancy neighborhood” wear, but a step above hanging around the house.

By contrast, Alice is definitely not leaving the house in this outfit. XD This is dzifasims’s Bespoke Corset, paired with a plain Get Famous skirt that I thought looked like a shift or underskirt (I thought the corset CAME with one, but apparently I was mistaken). It’s nice to have a plainer corset that doesn’t look like it was bought for sex purposes, unlike the base game one. Though I do like the “bought for sex purposes” one too. XD Alice probably prefers this one, though – it’s more her style, and I think it makes good underwear for her.

Onto the masc stuff, with Smiler showing off pandorasimbox’s Azariah’s Sacksuit. I have mixed feelings on this – the basic shape of the suit is okay, and I liked pairing it with the bowler, but as per usual this suit did not have any of the right swatches I needed for Smiler. The problem is, people do a lot of muted colors for Victorian-style clothes, and even the ones that include brighter swatches tend not to do a lot of yellow. Meaning I often end up with poor Smiler wearing beige because that’s as close as I can get. *sigh* I mean, I do rather like the look on them – they kind of look like they’re auditioning for a Charlie Chaplin movie – but it’s gotta be BRIGHTER, you know? *sigh* I gotta learn how to recolor clothes... (Also, amusingly, the boots are actually from Moschino – they actually look Victorian enough when you cover up the tops with a long pant.)

Fortunately, while [LonelyBoy]’s TS4 Solardius Outfit doesn’t have a yellow swatch, it DOES have a black swatch with gold decorative details, and that I can work with – especially when paired with the High School Years shoes I love so much for Smiler in the “black with yellow stitching” swatch. :) Not sure how much I like the high collar on Smiler, but this is certainly not a bad look for them!

And it CERTAINLY isn’t a bad look for Victor, who suits that high collar much better. XD As you can see, Victor got the nice dark blue swatch with the red tie, which is kind of the inverse of his tie/vest color scheme in the movie. XD But it suits him, and again, this seems like a nice, semi-formal outfit he might wear for an outing with his partners where he wanted to look a little more put together. :)

And there you have it – me playing with my favorite trio like dolls again. XD What can I say, it’s fun to dress them up in new outfits! And these particular sessions help inform me of what I’d like my trio to wear in the Valicer In The Dark universe. Since, you know, I’m pretty well obsessed with that these days. XD So don’t @ me, downloading CC is writing research, okay? Okay. :p

Hi Jenn! I'm sorry if you've covered this before (I tried searching with no results). Are the days of mailing physical postcards gone forever? I love snail mail in general, plus with the decline of Twitter and while Bluesky still tries to take off, I'm wondering how many eyes will be on #kidlitartpostcard. Like, is it something you and your colleagues plan to browse? And would it be WEIRD to mail a physical postcard to agents if that's something that makes my vintage heart sing?

I definitely think there is a lot of merit in participating in #kidlitartpostcard, and of course, keeping your website portfolio and social media up-to-date with fresh artwork, etc etc.

Physical postcards are tougher. I do like them, too -- for ten years or so the agency sent out twice a year physical postcard packets featuring our illustrators, and I used to do a physical valentine every year that I'd send to 400 or so editor and art director colleagues designed by a different client each year -- I loved them!

The problem, as you can imagine, is that since the pandemic and the rise in people working remotely, we don't even know where people are anymore -- I don't have editor or art director home addresses (nor do I really want to keep track of hundreds of people like that, or EXPECT them to be giving out their home addresses willy-nilly!) -- and if nobody is in the office... where are physical postcards and mailings going, exactly?

So at the agency we switched to a digital LookBook a few years back instead of the physical postcards. Are they gone forever? IDK -- but it does feel like kind of an expensive and daunting proposition to do a big physical mailing for people that may not ever receive the material. Maybe if you KNOW the art directors, or know for a fact that they are in-office at least sometimes? IDK IDK. I do know that I personally haven't done the Valentine or mailed any postcards since 2020, and the idea of restarting that feels overwhelming to me.

What's your resolution for your simblr?

I'd like to keep stuffs organized on my blog, but without it blocking me. I have a tendency to want things to be perfectly put in its place and realize later on that I take more time organizing than actually play the game.

Another resolution: I should really do whatever I want and post whatever, even if I'm kinda scared I'm a bother and don't get many likes/reblogs. I love posting lookbooks and wish to give credit where it's due but I'm also thinking that I'm annoying cc creators who are used to getting tagged. 🙃 But I guess they would tell me to stop otherwise. 👀

I also wish to speak more with other simmers! I definitely should go more in the DMs and communicate with more of you because y'all are amazing and I love everyone's sims stories. (But I'm a shy bean.)

What do you want from the sims franchise?

Fairies and medieval themed pack would be awesome! I also liked the idea of bands, and more music instruments. I'm super annoyed the singer career does not exist and tbh, while people bought City Living for its apartments and festivals, I bought it for the singing skill. But I wouldn't mind seeing this skill going base game.

I mainly want bands to have more hobbies and activities! I watched EnglishSimmer's wishlist for 2024 video, and I really like the idea of being able to plan things weekly that are not just festivals. Or at least events that are like how the star accolades work, tied to a community lot but happen regularly. I don't know if the community center's classes are a thing but I have yet to see it.

Mainly I wish for a basegame overhaul and updates on cross pack compatibility (especially with the GT clubs system). I also want more consequences on my actions but I can always dream.

I wish for more worlds that are not just American-based worlds and have at least a 64x64 in it (or 50x50). Not that I don't like american worlds, but I just want a change of scenery especially when to me sims 4 is pretty aesthetics in priority.

Any other new year's resolution?

I'm not a New Year resolution type of person, but I do have some for very soonish: get my license driver, try not be anxious calling the municipal swimming pool to get their prices and set up a swimming routine with my friend. 😇 even more crochet! Even if I don't find any use to it. I will probably. Maybe. I also wish to make friends but I need to go out and just in general, I need to not be scared of approaching people/socialize. 🙃 (yes irl but not only)

a mix, i usually go in with one idea/theme/outfit or get inspired by one piece of cc and make it up from there

now that i made my own photoshop action for my cas portraits, they get done very quickly. probably this one since i barely even posed spring for it and didn't have to think about the cropping.

all lookbooks are time-consuming, but this one definitely took the longest just due to the sheer number of outfits. like i said in the caption, i spent like nine months tweaking daphne's wardrobe 💀 then my computer crashed while taking screenshots... but it all worked out

EXTRA VIRGIN Is the Contemporary Silk Road New York Fashion Week's true magic has always lied beneath the big-name designers and viral runway moments, and the city is teeming with young minds looking to connect through a shared love of fashion. Enter EXTRA VIRGIN, the pop-up that brings some of China's most forward-thinking designers to one of fashion's biggest stages. Founders Joi and Susie met on Chinese fashion-focused social media site Red. In bringing their unique and futuristic fashion to international eyes via social media sites such as Instagram, which is blocked in China, the two have used their platforms as a resource for the talented designer pool of their home to connect with a wider audience.Featuring up-and-coming designers such as Keimfleck, Mss Studio, Jaw Jaw, Open Aesthetic, illimite, Flower Birds Market, DOLOMEDES, HuDieGongZhu蝴蝶公主, Seaweed Shop海苔商店 and more, EXTRA VIRGIN serves as a platform for cultural exchange through fashion. Joi and Susie worked with the designers to bring their creations stateside, sparking conversations about culture, access and the power of social media.Below, read on for an interview with EXTRA VIRGIN founders Joi and Susie about the curation and purpose of one of the most exciting features of New York Fashion Week.What does the concept (and reclamation) of virginity mean within the context of the platform?When it comes to olive oil, "Extra Virgin" means undefined; it's top tier. "Virgin" from its Latin root means: strength, force and skill. In the past, it never meant sexually chaste, but rather sexually independent. It was used to describe women who were free, and not owned or tamed by anyone. Thus, WE ARE ALL VIRGINS. We wear whatever we want, and we do whatever we want.You pick from a wide range of aesthetics for the pop-up. What went into the selection of each piece?When we first started to prepare for Extra Virgin, we confirmed the brands and asked the designers for their entire lookbook. We just picked what we adored! We didn't really think about what the market needs, more of what we need and what people around us would like. A lot of the designers we are working with are already our friends, and they sent us their pieces before. We genuinely love the designs and would wear them daily.Extra Virgin has been described as the contemporary Silk Road, moving discussions of cultural exchange to the real world. What does that IRL Exchange look like for you and how is fashion the vehicle for that? Before we established Extra Virgin, we discovered that there are accounts on Depop and Instagram who resell the pieces without the designer's consent (some are from the brands we are collaborating with). The worst part is that these sellers don't even credit the brands and sell them as their own design. That's when we started to consider building Extra Virgin, a platform to let people here easily access the brands from China. There is definitely a gap between China and the States due to the political conflicts. China has its own social media and online shopping apps. The "silk road" we are constructing is aimed to go beyond the fire wall, on a broader scale we want to engage in the cultural differences for a more hopeful and inclusive world. But for now we simply just want to share the pretty stuff. Outfits are the most obvious way for people to identify each other and express their own personalities. It is like music which is a universal language.Based on your presences online and the visuals, you're very online (as an adjective). How do you combine our modern day internet culture with what you're trying to achieve on a real world scale?Honestly, we believe that the original "real world" no longer exists without the internet, at least for our generation. Like everyone in NYC needs an online presence, whether it's Instagram, LinkedIn or Tinder. A brand also needs it. So when we first had the idea of Extra Virgin, we immediately started to brainstorm about our logo and visuals to advertise online. Social media helps us to claim our existence to the world.China has faced a lot of negativity in the west due to xenophobia. How has that impacted your approach in bringing this to the states for the first time?These recent years, with the rising popularity of Asian clothing brands, especially J-fashion and Archive Clothing, people are not against Asian clothing brands. We haven't been impacted by the xenophobia aspect so far. What has it been like to be the middle person between these designers who don’t know how to navigate the societal and digital hurdles in both China and the west to bring their work to a larger audience?Several designers have studied abroad or lived in western countries so they are very familiar with the culture, and other designers are very interested in global fashion. We can't say any of the designers "don't know how to navigate" so it's not hard for us to be the middle person. However, it's true that we have more resources because we are currently in the US and we are the bridge to connect the designers to the global market. We bear this kind of responsibility, and we are very thankful for the designers who trust us to do this job.What do you hope the future for Extra Virgin and Chinese fashion as a whole looks like for you?Well, we both grew up in China and we love China as our homeland, but things were a bit fucked up in the last few years. Here we go:Zero covid policies→unemployment→people hide money under their bed→consumerism is dead→Chinese fashion’s future doesn't look so bright. One child policy→population decline→China wants control of women to give more birth→ Feminism is dead→Freedom of dressing is dead→Chinese fashion’s future doesn't look so bright. Luckily, we still have Extra Virgin! We hope Extra Virgin can introduce more and more Chinese independent designer brands to the international market. VITD Sims Lookbook: Alice

And finally, with Victor and Smiler done, we finish off with some looks for our lovely Cutter, Alice!

Alice gets straight into the custom content with one of her everyday outfits, wearing the blue swatches of the 1890s Working Girl set by @vintagesimstress! And unlike the last time I showed her in this outfit, this time she has the apron overlay to go with it. XD Looks good on her AND gives her the proper working-class vibes!

For bedtime, Alice gets a pretty nightgown -- and much like Smiler, while they're not era-appropriate, I had to give Alice the cute bunny slippers too. XD What, we know she likes white rabbits! If I remember correctly, that nightgown is a dress that comes with the Cottage Garden Fan Stuff Pack made by @plumbobteasociety -- I thought it looked nice as nightwear for her.

For that semi-formal party everyone's going to, Alice gets a Realm of Magic top and skirt that make her look at least somewhat respectable. While I think the outfit as a whole is a little pale, I really wanted to use that top on her -- I think she looks good in it. And the skirt ended up working with it pretty well (which is good, because it took me ages to find one that actually went with the top. Some of this shit is HARD to match, let me tell you!).

And for a formal occasion -- well, unlike the boy and the non-binary person, Alice doesn't need to rely on CC here. Get Famous provides a beautiful Victorian dress for her to swan around in! (Though I should probably download a few for her anyway, for variety's sake -- or at least a couple of hats that might go well with this outfit. Head looks a little naked here!) She looks ready for a day in Brightstone, doesn't she?

Okay, admittedly I didn't intend this outfit as an athletic outfit, just another everyday one (though I suppose Alice COULD wear it for working out). And this Cats & Dogs dress is probably a little too modern to fit the proper BITD vibes. But I really like it for the simple reason the patchwork skirt looks like something Alice made herself -- finding and saving up scraps of fabric so she could have something else to wear besides her iconic striped blouse and black skirt. And you can't deny, it DOES look good on her!

And finally, for those chilly days, Alice gets in on the cozy vibes with a cherries-and-flowers theme -- the sweater (and I believe the skirt) is from Cottage Living, while the hat is a recolor created by Plumbella (from "illegally downloading clothes for my sims," in this SimFileShare folder (as you might imagine, it's the one called "beret")). She looks pretty comfy -- and those boots were definitely made for stomping around the streets in the snow and rain.

A Strangerville Lookbook, pt. 3 Ft. Junia Cahill

Junia wasn’t crazy about her dad taking up residence in Strangerville when he crash-landed there about 9 years ago. She was 18 at the time and freshly moved out, so she didn’t feel like it was her place to try and talk him out of it. Plus, after her mother died (she was about 10 at the time), George’ had to make a lot of sacrifices and be the strong one for Junia, all while he was grieving. That led to his life being put on hold, and Junia thought maybe the change of scenery wasn’t the worst thing for his healing process. 

In the years since her mom died, Junia has focused primarily on athletics and keeping up with a rigorous daily workout routine, but her art is a sacred escape that brings her closer to her mother, so she does that privately. Well.... except for that stint in high school where she was tagging around town. She hated school so college was a no-go, but she’s traveled a lot and makes money working as a mechanic, using all the skills she learned from her father growing up. Now, however, she’s moved back to Strangerville to keep an eye on her dad, as she’s worried about his safety with the town’s recent streak of missing people, shady coverups, and politically-charged attacks. Much like her dad, she’s kind of seen as a town pariah and many people would even go as far as to call her unhinged because of a stint at the 8-Bit Saloon a few years back. Needless to say, her return to Strangerville hasn’t gone unnoticed...

Junia is an OC that I created for my Strangerville gameplay story - you can see the original post that features all the characters HERE. I do want to note that in the Strangerville GP George Cahill (her father) is apparently evil? I changed that lol. That’s just... not how I see him. But overall I’m happy with how I translated her from brain to page to game, but my only complaint is that I wish there was more visible definition on her muscles, especially her arms! We need more skin overlays/skin details for buff ladies in the sims 4 cc community.
