You knew Damian would take his time getting adjusting to your presence. Of course he would. He’s even slower to warm up than Jason, you knew it before you’d even met him. So you’d had no idea you were even within a five year shot of him even liking you, let alone trusting you.
In spite of it nearing one in the morning, you laid atop your bed covers, watching your shows with passing interest. You’re waiting up for Jason like you usually do, you have a hard time sleeping not knowing if he’s okay or not. He hates it when you do, he says just because he has to be up all night doesn’t mean you do. Unfortunately for him, you’re nothing if not stubborn.
A clatter from the living room has you perking up—Jason’s back. It’s a little early for him to be home already though, and he’s not usually so loud upon re entry unless he’s hurt.
You stand quickly, tossing the book aside, and mentally prepare yourself to tend to injuries.
You open the door to the dark room, the only light available coming from the dim lamp in the kitchen and the moonlight through the open window.
It takes your eyes a moment to adjust, scanning the room only to find a figure much, much smaller than expected.
“Damian?”
He looks at you through the darkness, silent. You approach him slowly.
“Hey. Are you hurt?” You ask, getting a bit concerned. Of all Jason’s brothers, Damian is the least likely to drop in, especially unharmed.
“No.” Damian’s always standoff-ish, but he’s exhibiting a particularly strange energy right now. You wonder if he needs something Jason could help with.
“Jason’s not here,” you tell him, watching him closely for any sign of what’s going on.
“I know.” His words are short, measured.
If he knows, that means he was with him tonight. Then why would he come here?
“Is everything okay?”
He says nothing. His gaze is lasered onto a panel of wood among the floorboards, jaw clenched.
You tilt your head. “Do you want to stay here tonight?”
He hesitates to answer but it seems like he does want to stay. You don’t know Damian anywhere near as well as Jason does, but you can’t imagine he’s ever seen or shown much vulnerability before.
He seems to decide on biting the bullet and nodding, yes. You make your way around the couch and sit down, looking to him.
Slowly, he does the same, in absolute silence. He sits stiff. His shoulders are hunched up and his body is tightly pressed into the smallest space possible. The way his posture curls in on him makes him look even tinier.
You’ve never seen him anywhere close to upset before, not like this. Most of the time you see him he’s an angry upset, but this…it’s a sad upset. Almost scared.
You fold your legs onto the couch, pulling a blanket off from the ledge behind you. You drape it over Damians shoulders, enveloping him in warmth to contrast the icy bite of the night. He remains still.
You slowly move your hand up to his hair, treading carefully. He’s watching you out of the corner of his eye, though he makes no moves to stop you. You take that as the closest to a blessing you’re going to get from him, so you continue on.
You brush his hair back lightly, fingers threading through his hair with a loving gentleness.
“Damian,” You whisper.
He doesn’t look at you. Even in the dark, you can see his breathing labored and his eyes starting to well over.
You turn to face him and shift a little closer, taking his hand in yours. His chin lowers and his stare hardens, trying desperately not to cry.
You bring your free hand to the far side of his head, gently nudging him your way. He folds immediately, turning to you and throwing himself into your chest, tears flowing violently.
He struggles to breathe right, choking on his sobs as he hugs you tight. You hold his head against you, stroking his hair as he weeps.
You hold him like that for almost half an hour, allowing him as much time to cry as he needs.
He ends up curled up on your lap at an awkward angle, head resting on your thigh. The shaking of his body slows over time, his eyes fluttering shut from the ache of the tears. Not long after, his breathing levels out and his body completely relaxes into sleep.
You continue petting his head, mind wandering around to what could’ve happened. Jason had told you once that the only thing Damian seems to hold in high regard is Bruce, and his mood can easily sway Damian’s.
It’s almost three am when Jason slides in through the window, landing gracefully into a kneel. He tugs off his helmet before looking up and noticing you on the couch.
A split second of a smile before he glances down and sees Damian asleep on your lap, his arms still wrapped around your waist. His mouth drops and his brows furrows as he stands, examining his brother.
“What the hell?” He says quietly, looking back up to you.
You shake your head and shrug your shoulders, “I don’t know. Did something happen on patrol?”
Jason’s eyes drift down to Damian again. “I mean Bruce kind of yelled at him, so.”
“That’ll do it.”
He nods, coming to sit on the opposite side of the couch, careful not to wake him. He observes his brother's vice grip around your middle and your much more gentle hold around his.
“He let you hug him?”
“He hugged me.”
“He what?”

Trust me
Contains: Post Season 4, Hurt/comfort, implied sex, Eddie Munson X You, no Y/N, roommates to lovers.
🦇 🛋️ 🦇 😴 🦇
Eddie lived.
And now he lives with you. You invited him to stay with you in your apartment and lie low while the Sheriff’s dept and the FBI completed the investigation of the murders (and exonerated Eddie, obviously).
There is some damage to his tattoos and a half destroyed nipple but otherwise he was unharmed physically by the events in Hawkins.
Mentally, he struggles.
He is uneasy and anxious.
Extremely Jumpy.
You’ve taken to wearing an ankle bracelet that jingles so he’ll hear you coming and not panic.
He doesn’t sleep well. He’s always tired and can’t even nap. He’s not even cranky about it, he’s just listless.
Dustin says he’s very different from the Eddie he knew in High School. Almost the opposite. Revved Down.
Eddie tells you he can’t sleep anymore because when he closes his eyes he sees the murders. Even Fred’s, which he didn’t witness in person, his brain cruelly recreates on a loop of guilt with the other deaths. It does no good to tell him he shouldn’t feel guilty, he can’t turn off the feeling that if he’d done something differently… he could have saved them. Like he personally could have taken Vecna out if he knew the solution. Like he picked the wrong CYOA path. It’s ridiculous and he knows it but he can’t seem to change that feeling, especially at night.
In the time you’ve chosen to take him in as your own personal project— sorry… as your roommate and good friend - You have barely seen him close his eyes at all.
The chocolate orbs are usually on you, meeting your gaze, watching your movements. Curious as a cat.
Right now it’s breakfast and he’s watching you make cinnamon toast.
Your way. Which is a very specific way. Exactly how you like it.
He looks like he’s taking mental notes but his head is heavy on his hand and his shoulders are curved like he could almost fall over from fatigue.
The black eyeliner he let you decorate his eyes with is smeared over the dark circles under his eyes. The black nail polish on each short nail bed on each long skilled (guitarist) finger is chipped. You will offer to repaint it later.
Even bone tired in rumpled sweatpants and an old tshirt that has holes in the armpits and at the collar… he is still unbelievably hot.
Without a doubt, if you weren’t certain-sure he was not into you in the slightest, you’d have tried something already.
Probably. You have a type and it is this guy.
“Smells good.” Eddie suddenly says. Perking up slightly.
“Do you want some toast?” You ask.
“Yes, please, princess.” He uses his trademark terms of endearment with everyone. It isn’t condescending or anything. After all he calls Steve Harrington and ‘Coffin-Jeff’ from his band and Nancy Wheeler ‘Princess’, too. So you think it doesn’t mean much of anything.
He licks his lips in anticipation.
The man would live on foods that are nutritionally-void vessels for butter if you didn’t insist on the occasional salad or omelette.
“You can have as much as you like if you’ll take a nap for me after.” You promise, handing him a triangle of toast.
“With you?” Eddie raises his eyebrows in a twist of confusion.
“Yeah. I mean…At the same time.” You Disambiguate. He slumps slightly and nibbles on the crusts. “You could take the couch and I could take the loveseat… Unless…”
“Unless???” His eyebrows are back up, way up, hidden in the curly brunette fringe.
“Well….I’ve heard that weighted blankets help with uneasy sleep, nightmares, anxiety and stuff. We don’t have anything heavy bedding wise but…I could be your weighted sorta blanket…if you trust me.”
“You’d do that for me?” Eddie smiles softly. “Even knowing I usually wake up yelling and screaming about scary shit?”
You did not know that. “Of course. Let’s try something new, you need sleep and I want to help if I can.”
He finished the cinnamon toast in 2 bites.
You lead him to the big thrift store find monstrosity of a chesterfield that he had helped you heft into the apartment.
It was wide and deep and cozy.
“Will I fit?” Eddie looked skeptical. “I usually curl up on my side on couches, these darn legs are longer than they look…”
You pressed gently on his shoulders. “Trust me. Get comfy.” You insisted. “Bend one knee up against the sofa back.”
He flopped down on his back, hands behind head, legs slightly spread and gone boneless. “Climb aboard.” He said wryly.
You crawled from his bare feet up between his spread legs to ease yourself onto his body. You tried not to feel some kind a messy way about how he body-rolled against you as you both tried to find the most comfortable position. Eventually your head was resting on his broad chest.
You shifted and felt like you were gonna roll off him, off the couch, but he said “whoa, princess.” And wrapped an arm around you to keep you there.
You were held and warm and not a little bit well….to be honest you were just completely massively turned on by the perfect scent of him and being pressed against his body.
“You good?” You asked.
“Yea, sweetheart. How bout You?” Eddie whispered.
“I feel safe.” You lied. Because what you felt was more complex than safe could ever be.
“Good. When I get… uh…if you notice that I am…” Eddie cleared his throat. “Just know I’d never do anything. I promise.”
You peered up at him. Your turn to be very confused.
He stammered and his face reddened. “I mean if you feel uh… ‘little Eddie’ getting ideas down there, don’t worry, I’m in control. Just because you feel so nice… perfect even… know I’m at the helm, right? And I value our friendship and would never…”
“I thought I didn’t do it for you?? Like at all?” You stammered back.
“I mean, obviously you do. You Do all of it for little Eddie.” He gestured at his crotch which was pitching a size large (OMG is that real?) tent in the sweats. “You are hot and sweet and funny and whip-smart and you’ve got this ass that I… ::fuck:: I’m sorry, forget I said… I mean, I wouldn’t ever do anything about it, not ever.”
“Why the hell not??” You got up on your elbows and sat on his belly. You looked down at his gorgeous flushed face. He bit his lips hard.
“Princess, You mean too much to me. When I think about losing you…”
“Why would you lose me? I’m very hard to just…misplace.” You stuck out your tongue at him.
He gave you a small chuckle and his hands found your hips. Squeezed you there. One hand stroked down your leg to run a finger over your jingling ankle bracelet. Then he frowned and then his hands dropped away.
He took a deep shuddery breath. “I usually lose when I love… one way or another, it’s inevitable… I have extraordinarily bad luck.”
“Eddie, nothing is totally inevitable.” You touched his cheek. Rubbed his lower lip with your thumb. “Can you trust me just a little bit more than you fear bad luck?”
Perhaps a smile teased one corner of his mouth. Almost a smile. Nearly one. “I trust you, Princess.”
You dismounted Eddie and took his hand to lead him to your room. Soon to be his room too.
He did yell that night but not in an unhappy way.

Facing Me
Asmodeus x reader
Part One
W.C 1.5k
~ Spring Cleaning in the HOL takes a strange turn when you and Asmodeus find a cursed mirror.
After the House of Lamination was taken over by that Army of rats last week, Barbaots strongly recommended that the Brothers do a bit of decluttering in the attic to prevent this disaster from happening again in the future.
Being the model human you are, you volunteered to help them out. Not just from the goodness in your heart but also the curiosity you have towards the boxes upon boxes of magical items, trinkets, and antiques that have been hidden away within these walls.
You heard there was a lot to go through, but as you look over the boxes, and boxes, and boxes of items to take out and examine you wonder if there is an end in sight.
“Are you really…sure… all these need to go downstairs?” your muscles strain as you lift a heavy wooden chest off of the top of a dusty end table and walk it over to the doorway. Lucifer gives you a soft smile before taking it off of your hands.
“Yes, Barbatos said that if we wish to remain rodent free we must get rid of all unnecessary clutter.” He replies, “But If you see anything up here that you would like to keep for yourself don’t be afraid to tell me.”
“Oi, why does just Mc get to have their pick of all this stuff?” Mammon pouts from behind a cobwebbed vanity with a cracked mirror.
“Isn't it obvious?” Lucifer sighs looking at his brother. “Because you have given me no reason to trust you.”
“I’m plenty trustworthy,” Mammon stammers, his tanned cheeks flushing pink in frustration. “Lemme show you, ” He reaches for a box of books that is balancing precariously on top of some mismatched boxes, pulling the heavy weight easily toward him. “See, I can take care of junk too.”
“Wait! Look out,” Satan yells from behind you, you are pushed out of the way just as the tower of boxes collapses, glass breaks and trinkets smash against the floor where you once stood. Dust fills the air, sending you and the other Demons into a fit of coughing, but miraculously, everyone is unharmed.
But judging by the near murderous glares Lucifer and Satan send Mammon, you wonder just how long that will remain to be true.
“Look what you did you idiot,” Satan seethes, looking at his brother darkly, “They could have gotten hurt.”
“I’m fine,” you sigh tiredly, “It was an accident.”
“M’ sorry.” Mammon says, looking at you like a kicked puppy, “You gotta believe me Mc, I’d never try to hurt ya on purpose.”
You brush yourself off and take Satan’s outstretched hand. “No harm done,” you say, “I’m just a bit dustier than before.”
Lucifer’s brow creases with worry as he looks down at the disaster at his feet. “ although Mammon’s actions were extremely irresponsible. He has shown us that this room may not be the safest option for you to be in. Perhaps your assistance would be better put to use downstairs.”
“Are you demoting me?” you ask, suddenly feeling rather ashamed of your human mortality.
His gaze softens and his hand comes to gently rest on your arm. “Not at all, at this rate we seem to be clearing out the attic faster than those downstairs can sort through the boxes. You would be a great help to Asmodues and the others.”
“Why do you have to make sense all the time?” you say turning and stepping over a fallen crate. The Avatar of Prdies words of logic reassure you as you look forward to the next task at hand.
But before you can make it to the door, Satan's voice calls out to you.
“Be careful when handling the items, some of them may be enchanted or cursed. If you’re not sure about something, set it aside for later.
“Or give it to Levi,” Mammon grumbles. “Most of this junk is probably his anyway~” the back of Lucifer’s hand makes contact with Mammons shoulder. “Ow what was that for?”
~
You pass by Beel when you make it to the ground floor. Despite carrying armloads of heavy boxes, the sixth born looks as energized as ever. Not a drop of sweat mars his brow as he climbs the steps once again, no doubt thinking about the promised reward of Hell’s Kitchen when the job is done.
Levi sits cross legged on a chair in the living room with his laptop, his job is to research the items in the attic and if necessary look up how to dispose of them properly if they are cursed. Belphie is supposed to be doing that too, but apparently his sitting position was too comfortable and he fell victim to his Sin.
Just in the other room you find Asmodeus. The Avatar of Lust is hard at work sorting through the boxes, organizing the clutter into neat little piles, giving each one a little bit of attention. His eye for detail is put to use perfectly.
He shines an old candle stick with a pink dust cloth with a serene smile as you approach his seat at the dining room table. “Do you need a hand? I got banished from the Attic.”
“Then it’s your lucky day hon,” the demon beams, pulling out the seat next to him. “I have lots to go through and would love to spend a bit more time with you.”
“Thanks, where should I start?” you ask, sliding into the seat, eager to resume helping out in any way you can. “Do you have a system?”
“His peach colored eyes trail to the ceiling in thought as he bites his glossy lower lip. “Hmmm, not really. I’m just working through one box at a time, nothing is really gross so I'm just giving each item a little bit of TLC.”
“Got it,” you grin staring down at the worn down box wondering just where you should start first. Whoever packed this one up did it carefully, so you decided to grab a large white leatherbound book. Its title is written in some strange language you have never seen before, but you can tell from the faint warmth of magic radiating from the ink that it is some kind of spell book.
“This looks cool,” you hum dusting off the cover with a cloth, “Maybe Solomon would want to check it out.”
Asmo nods, his eyes shining as he sets the now-shining candle stick to the side and reaches back into the box. “Isn't this fun? I bet we can find all sorts of things in here. If you find any cool decorations let me know, vintage is trending on Devilgram so I would love to add a few new things to my room.”
“I will,” you say as you slide the less dusty spellbook to the other side of the table for later.
“Beautiful,” he exclaims next to you. Curiously you turn your head to find the demon holding up an antique silver mirror, although you cannot see the glass, you are blown away by the intricate collage of embedded flower shaped jewels that adorn the back of it.
“Wow it is a stunning mirror,” you breathe as the demon lets out a laugh.
“I was talking about me, but I guess it’s pretty too.” He murmurs. “Take a look for yourself Mc. He flicks his wrist over to you and you see your reflection in it briefly. But the moment you lock eyes with your mirrored image, a bright, warm light fills the room blinding the two of you.
Your hands fly to your eyes as you try to shield your eyes from the enchanted light but it seems to travel through your palms. “What’s going on?” Asmo cries as he drops the mirror, the sound of broken glass reaches your ears.
“I don’t know, all I did was look at it.” You say worriedly, your vision still flooded with painless gold. The light fades after a few seconds, but it takes a bit for you to blink away the spots in your vision, lowering your hands and you stare at the stone pattern of the floor in confusion. “W-what was that?”
Asmodeus’ worried voice catches your attention “Mc are you alright? I had no idea that would happen.”
“I think i’m alright,” you say gently looking yourself over, maybe that mirror just was enchanted to flash a bright light when someone looks at it. Even after all this time in the Devildom, you still find yourself surprised by just how many ridiculous spells there are floating around.
“How about you~” when you turn your head, you find yourself at a horrified loss for words as you look at the Demon next to you. “What the?”
“What’s wrong?” he cries no doubt seeing the look of abject horror on your face. “Is there something on my face?”
“T-that’s just it Asmo.” you say rubbing your eyes one final time to make sure your eyes aren't just playing tricks on you. “Your face. It’s gone.”
To Be Continued...

since the first pjo series is meant to be percy detailing his accounts to a scribe who is writing them down for him, it would be funny if it turns out he never actually saw Annabeth solely in the river styx, but rather the whole group of people who have given a reason to continue fighting for his life - his mom, Grover, Annabeth and Nico - and either the scribe omitted it for ✨ romance ✨ or he just lied because he thought it would be romantic and that Annabeth would be happier if she was the only one who seemingly mattered to him in that moment
#happy talks pjo#percy jackson#honestly his tether to mortal life should've either been his mom or grover (empathy link - if one dies the other will die with him) or both#anyway the breakdown should be like this:#sally is his tether to a truly mortal human life. that's all she wanted for him as well. to be a normal human kid#grover toes the line between the two - sort of the same way he is both a goat and a human as a satyr#they met before percy knew he was a demigod and presumably as both Protector and Seeker he interacts with mortals frequently#annabeth represents his tether to demigod life and mythology - they met at camp. she hasn't been around mortals in years#she's the one who can't see life beyond being a demigod. beyond gods and prophecies.#and nico represents his tether to life in general - he is the reason percy took on the prophecy. why he bathes in the styx to begin with#he is the reason percy wants to live long enough to defeat kronos. one of many but arguably one of the most important ones#percy doesn't believe he will survive the final battle but damn if he's not going to ensure he takes down kronos with him#just to make sure nico is unscathed and unharmed

you're sweating when you wake up, skin sticking painfully to your bedsheets as your bleary eyes dart around, attempting to make focus of your surroundings. the room is still dark, barely touched by the slight bit of moonlight that attempts to peak through the closed windows—defiant. it takes a minute to realize that the sounds that are breaking the silence are actually coming from your own throat—breathy, wheezing gasps of terror.
your stomach drops when your fingers grip cold and empty fabric. he's gone he's gone he's go—
"what are you doing up, pretty?"
your head snaps to the doorway. satoru stands there, sweats hanging low on his hips even as his hand remains curled around a glass of water. his hair is tousled with sleep, but his cerulean eyes are sharp and lively.
as soon as he sees the panic lacing your expression, his eyes widen, long legs practically tripping over themselves as he stumbles towards you.
"what happened?" he asks sharply, frantically placing the cup on the bedside table to take your face into his palms. shades of blue dart back and forth across your features as he perches one knee on the mattress and peers down at you. "are you okay?"
his touch sends electricity through your veins—a splash of ice water pulling you away from that painful reverie.
your heart both clenches and soars, the idea of what you saw being terrifying, and yet finding out it wasn't true being that much more relieving.
"i just—" your voice comes out choked, and satoru's fingers twitch against your skin imperceptibly. "had a bad dream."
you think your brain must be cruel for conjuring up a dream in which satoru could suffer to such abhorrent extents.
"oh sweets." satoru's sigh is sympathetically soft, thumb brushing over the apple of your cheek just barely. "it was just a nightmare."
"i know," you swallow, voice shaking. there's an uncharacteristic wetness pooling at your waterline. "i-it just felt so real."
"baby..." satoru immediately pulls you against the steady planes of his chest, thick arms snaking around your waist to eliminate any measly amount of distance between you two. you prop your chin on his shoulder, sighing as you feel his snowy hair tickling at your cheek.
"it wasn't real, sweetheart," he says, pulling back just slightly to push a piece of hair from your face. his thumb then drags under your eyes, wiping away the unshed tears. "see. you're here, i'm here. everything's all good."
"yeah." you're nodding, unable to take your eyes off of him because he's real and alive and so breathtakingly perfect. "yeah, you're right."
he gives you a lopsided smile, eyes bright and glowing. "i don't like to brag, but i usually am."
you snort out a laugh, missing the way his expression turns pleased at the sound. "hilarious. you love to brag."
"you got me there," he shrugs, grinning as you stick your tongue out at him. the lighthearted banter solidifies the fact that satoru is fine and unharmed and completely yours, but you can still feel the apprehension coursing through your veins. chills run up your spine—you try not to show it.
but of course, satoru has always been able to see right through you.
his teasing smile goes soft, and he inhales deeply.
"was it about me?" he asks, climbing into bed next you. you lay back down carefully.
"yeah," you mumble, watching him tug the blankets over your body and tuck you both under a cocoon of warmth.
"hm." something in his tone tells you he's not unfamiliar with the feelings you seem to be experiencing—his body shifts closer to yours. ocean eyes carefully asses you, deep and calculating and so concerned even as he smoothes a warm palm over your shoulder blades. "wanna tell me what happened?"
the truth is you do want to, because satoru has always understood you better than you've ever understood yourself—you have no doubt he'd be able to comfort you just as well as he normally does.
and yet...
"no," you answer, pressing your nose into his neck. a deep breath in, the lively scent that is so inherently your gojo satoru filling your very soul. "it's okay. i think i'll be fine."
when you shut your eyes, images flash behind them—of bloodied bodies and stitches and swapped souls. yet a chaste kiss to your forehead pulls you back to where you're supposed to be, warm and grounding.
"i know you'll be fine," satoru murmurs, lips tickling your brow as he speaks. you think you can hear the gentle smile as he says it, and your grip on him tightens—never letting go. "i'm right here after all."

IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND.
pairing: Prohero!Bakugo x Prohero!Reader
synopsis: After every mission, Katsuki makes it a habit of checking you for injuries. It’s a routine that’s as comforting as it is embarrassing, especially when your friends start to get the wrong idea.
rating: fluff
The hum of the city buzzed in the background as you and the rest of your team made your way back to the agency. The mission had been a success—minimal collateral damage, civilians unharmed, and the villain apprehended. But the moment you stepped through the doors of the agency’s lobby, you knew what was coming.
Katsuki Bakugou, your ever-determined longtime friend, was already making his way toward you, his gaze sharp and focused. You barely had time to greet the others before Katsuki was in front of you, his eyes scanning you up and down like he was searching for something.
“Kats, I’m fine,” you started to say, but it was no use.
Without a word, his hands reached out and cupped your face, his palms warm and calloused against your skin. He tilted your head gently, his thumbs brushing over your cheeks as he examined you for any signs of injury.
It was the same routine every time you finished a mission. No matter how minor or major, Katsuki always insisted on checking you over himself, making sure you hadn’t gotten hurt in the line of duty. It was sweet, in his own way, but it was also… a little embarrassing, especially when it happened in front of your friends.
“Seriously, I’m okay,” you mumbled, your cheeks heating up under his intense scrutiny.
“Just shut up and let me look,” he muttered back, his voice low but firm.
You sighed, knowing it was pointless to argue. Katsuki was nothing if not thorough. His red eyes flicked over your face, lingering on a small scrape on your forehead that you’d barely noticed.
“This,” he said, brushing his thumb lightly over the scrape, “looks like it needs disinfecting.”
“It’s just a scratch,” you protested weakly, though the concern in his eyes made your heart skip a beat.
“Doesn’t matter,” he replied, his tone brooking no argument. “You’re getting it cleaned up.”
By now, you were well aware that the rest of your team was watching. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Kirishima grinning like an idiot, Mina whispering something to Kaminari, and Sero trying—and failing—to suppress his smirk.
They’d all gotten it into their heads that you and Katsuki were more than just friends. It wasn’t hard to see why, what with the way he was always looking out for you, always making sure you were okay, but the truth was… well, the truth was you wouldn’t mind if they were right.
But Katsuki had never said anything to make you think he saw you as anything more than a teammate and a friend. Sure, he was protective, and sure, he got in your personal space a lot, but that was just how Katsuki was. He cared about the people in his life, even if he had a funny way of showing it.
“There,” Katsuki finally said, letting go of your face with a satisfied nod. “No other injuries?”
“Nope, that was it,” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady. “Good as new.”
“Hmph.” He gave you one last look, as if double-checking, before stepping back.
You exhaled in relief, glad to have your space back, even if you did miss the warmth of his hands. But before you could fully regain your composure, Mina was suddenly at your side, her arm slung around your shoulders as she grinned up at you.
“You two are just too cute,” she cooed, batting her eyelashes exaggeratedly. “Honestly, how long are you gonna keep us all in suspense?”
“Mina, come on,” you groaned, trying to brush her off, but she was relentless.
“What? It’s obvious! The way he looks at you, the way you let him fuss over you—” She glanced at Katsuki, who was glaring at her but not denying anything, “—you two are like a married couple already.”
“Shut it, Raccoon Eyes,” Katsuki snapped, crossing his arms over his chest. “Ain’t nobody asked for your commentary.”
“Oh, touche, touche,” Kaminari chimed in, winking at you. “C’mon, Y/N, you’ve got to admit, it’s kinda romantic.”
“Yeah,” Sero added with a grin. “You’ve got your very own knight in shining armor.”
You could feel your face heating up even more, and you shot a pleading look at Kirishima, hoping he might intervene. But Kirishima just laughed, clearly enjoying the show. “Hey, man, they’re not wrong! You two have some serious chemistry.”
Katsuki looked like he was about to explode, and you decided it was time to put an end to the teasing before it got out of hand. “Okay, okay, that’s enough!” you said, holding up your hands. “We’ve all had a long day, so let’s just… chill, alright?”
Mina pouted, but she finally relented, giving you a playful nudge. “Fine, fine. But don’t think you’re off the hook. We’re gonna keep an eye on you two.”
You rolled your eyes, grateful that the attention was finally off you, but when you glanced back at Katsuki, you found him staring at you, his expression unreadable.
You opened your mouth to say something—anything—to diffuse the tension, but Katsuki beat you to it.
“Next time, don’t get hurt,” he said, his voice gruff but soft enough that only you could hear. “Can’t stand seeing you like that.”
Your breath caught in your throat, and for a moment, all you could do was nod. There was something in his eyes, something vulnerable that made your heart ache.
“I’ll try,” you managed to say, your voice a little shakier than you’d like.
“Good.” He nodded, satisfied, before turning on his heel and heading toward the locker rooms. But before he disappeared, he glanced back over his shoulder, his gaze locking with yours. “Get that scrape cleaned up.”
You watched him go, your mind a whirlwind of emotions, and it wasn’t until Mina nudged you again that you realized you were still staring.
“See what I mean?” she whispered, winking. “Totally smitten.”
You groaned, covering your face with your hands, but the truth was, you didn’t mind as much as you pretended to. Because even if Katsuki’s habit of fussing over you was a little embarrassing, it was also the highlight of your day.
And maybe, just maybe, one day you’d find the courage to tell him how much those moments meant to you.

crack baby ; prologue
wc ; 1572 masterlist after dying, you expected to be greeted with the open arms of the void swallowing your body, mind and soul. what you didn't anticipate is waking up sixteen once more with a chance to change your fate -- but something strange is happening, why are the locks changing and why are all eyes suddenly on you ?
tw ; death, neglect, brief mention of drugs, curse words
prologue, one, tbc..
Your death was completely preventable.
As you lay on the concrete floor of the cold alleyway, you can’t help but feel a sense of peace. Yeah, sure, you were shot 5 times and you’re currently bleeding out in some piss-smelling drug-ridden pavement. At least you’ve died in a somewhat honorable way, people will have a tell to tale, whether it’s good or bad, you’ll be remembered for a while.
Or maybe that’s wishful thinking, maybe the lack of blood is making you delirious. There’s no way you’ll be remembered as anything but the child that haunts the manor, that stalks around, staring at the residents of the Wayne manor with hopeful eyes. A child who doesn’t belong, who’s body isn’t able to fill in the cracks in the family, a child who wasn’t able to give anything, to devout anything.
A child of 21, but a child nonetheless.
The way you got caught up in the shooting was so unbelievably stupid, you were too nice to refuse taking on an extra shift from your co-worker, working overtime for free because you didn’t know how to say no. You got caught up in a fight between goons on your way home. For a brief moment, that small child you had buried foolishly believed your father would swoop down and protect you.
Then you were shot, again and again and again.
You don’t want to die, you decide at the last minute. You want to go back in time, to tell your poor 16-year-old self that yearning for the love of a family who doesn’t have love to give is foolish. A foolish child dying a foolish death.
And then, your eyes shut for the last time, you can almost hear your mother’s low humming, the smell of the dingy, old apartment you used to live in with her, you can taste the cold food she worked to provide (you can feel her hands on your neck, can hear her apologies ringing over and over as she cries).
It’s peaceful, almost nice.
Until you wake up – and your first thought is; what the fuck?
Your hand instinctively moves to your lower abdomen where you were shot – you were shot! You remember the burning pain shooting through you, so why on earth are you unharmed and.. in your bedroom?
It’s strange, why are your old posters up? Trinkets you distinctly remember throwing out, clothes you don’t wear thrown about – and that’s when it happens.
Your eyes catch a reflection in the mirror, your reflection. Your reflection that isn’t yours, why is
your hair shorter? Why are you so small– why are you.. Sixteen?
“What the fuck?” You hiss, jumping out of bed – wobbling as you whip your head around, taking in every nook and cranny of the small room. “What the fuck?!”
You jump towards the mirror, leaning in as you slap, pinch and stretch your face, awed by the youthful appearance, you had forgotten how cute you looked. No, that seems like the wrong word, you looked sixteen. Just an average sixteen year old, healthy and alive (somehow).
A few moments ago you were lying in a pool of your blood in a run-down alley, an unloved 21 year old – now you’re sixteen again, and you have a chance to change the inevitable! If you ignore the pit of dread in your stomach. Sixteen had been the worst year of your life, full of anger and hormones and teenage drama. Sixteen had been the year you struggled the most.
On the bright side, at least you had a trial run..?
“Young Master (Name)” A british, familiar voice calls out and you tense, whipping your head around to see Alfred. It had almost slipped your mind, Alfred is alive. He’s standing before you, as straight and proper as always, smiling at you as if nothing had changed. As if you hadn’t sobbed at his funeral, as if you hadn’t cursed your family for dragging him into their mess, as if you hadn’t spent countless nights at his grave, as if–
“Are you.. alright?” He asks, taking in the flabbergasted expression on your face – to which you straighten up, nodding with a shaken exhale as you ignore the churning of your stomach. You felt nauseous, everything felt too real in an uncomfortable way. A very uncomfortable way – the mix of emotions threatening to consume you.
“You didn’t come down for breakfast, I was beginning to grow worried.” He explains, taking in the way you nod blankly once more, his brows furrowing. “Is– everything alright”
“Y– yes, I’m just not hungry, I’ll– have something later.” You can’t keep your voice from trembling, you’re five seconds away from breaking down and sobbing before him, but you don’t want to worry him. You need to figure out a game plan, you’ve no time for stupid pleasantries like food, plus even if you tried to eat you’d probably throw up then break down sobbing.
“Alright, Young Master. But please, eat something before noon.” Alfred sighs, clearly worried by your peculiar behaviour, his eyes lingering for a moment too long before he leaves your room, shutting the door behind him with a resounding click. Oh fuck, how are you supposed to interact with anyone in this family if a two minute interaction is enough to have you trembling? Whatever, it matters not! You fumble around with your face for another moment before letting out a long sigh, your head already aching from the bewilderment of the situation. You shuffle over to your bed, plopping down with another huff. You had no idea what to do, no plan to go forward, but you had to figure something out.
You couldn’t stay in the Manor, you couldn’t deal with the dismissive eyes, the fake words of reassurance. You couldn’t stand curling up in your room, listening to the distant sounds of laughter as everyone celebrated without you. You couldn’t stand being that child again.
“I need to leave.” You say with more firmness than you had intended, your eyes set on the mirror before you. Of a sixteen-year-old (Name), staring back at you with pitiful eyes, you’ll get them out, you’ll give them a future – you’ll give yourself a future.
“Okay. Now, where do I begin?” You mumble, staring up at your ceiling before reaching for your phone. Time to go house hunting at sixteen. Yipee.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Alfred was picking up your plate with a thoughtful expression, breakfast had always been your favourite time of day because it always gave you a chance to see your family. No matter how you felt, or how busy you were. How peculiar.
It’s unusual for you to so blatantly skip it, there’s also that whole thing with your demeanour. Something in you had shifted, and he didn’t like it – it felt as though you were slipping away, as though you had resigned, as though you had stepped back, content in living as a shadow lurking in the dark corners of the Manor.
That simply won’t do.
He won’t give up on that smiling child, looking up at him with their front tooth missing, dirt staining their clothes as they ramble on about how they found a top secret hide-out, how they can’t wait to tell your big brothers their adventures.
Well, he’s sure with a few clever strings pulled he can finally put you on centre stage, with the lights shining on you. He just needs to remember to reserve a front row seat, for himself, of course.
“What the fuck?” You grumble, repeating that sentence for the nth time as you angrily type on your phone – why is every apartment in this city and the city over so bummy? It’s either too expensive or overridden with rats or overtaken by gangs.
You never moved houses in your past (?) life, staying in the Wayne Manor was easy once you accepted the inevitability of chasing after a fruitless relationship. Plus, the housing in Gotham and Bludhaven has always been..
Well, it could be better!
“(Name).” Your heart jumps out of your chest as an strangely familiar voice calls out for you, dark, low, paternal. Who on earth?
Your heart sinks as your eyes shift to the figure at your door. Batman, Bruce Wayne, your father, is in your room? What the fuck? This had never happened in your life, certainly not at sixteen. You can recall every single time you’ve ever seen your family, so why? Your hand curls around your phone as you gape up at your father. This isn’t supposed to happen. The one thing grounding you through this crazy, disconnecting experience was the comfort that you were familiar with your future, that you had a grasp on what events are bound to go down.
You’ve been awake for about twenty minutes – how’s it already changed?! Inside you, a deep part of your soul shifts, the air in the room suddenly being sucked in by his overwhelming presence, his eyes – cold and calculating, sizing you up as if you were a specimen, as though you were a pretty piece of silver at an auction and not his flesh and blood, your breathing become uneven as you try to grasp at your memory, anything that might've slipped your mind regarding interactions with your father.
You draw a blank, this has never happened. It's not supposed to happen – what the fuck?!
“Let’s go for a walk.”

missed calls | s.r.
in which Spencer answers Hotch's daughter's phone when he calls to check in after a case
margotober masterlist
who? spencer reid x fem!reader category: fluff content warnings: hotchner!reader, minimal case information, spencer's pov word count: 741 a/n: yooo this is the shortest margotober fic!! but it's so wholesome that i couldn't pick anything else 😭
Your nose whistled with every exhale, with every page he turned, Spencer looked down at your sleeping form to make sure he wasn’t disturbing you. He ignored the buzzing of your phone, Hotch told everyone not to come in until the briefing at ten, so the buzzing wasn’t something he’d concern himself with. He’d rather you catch up on sleep.
Turning the next page, he moved his hand down and swept some hair from your face, freezing when you stirred. He kept his eyes on you, making sure you didn’t fully wake up before he returned to his book.
Last week, a case had gone wrong, and you ended up at the center of it. Physically, you were unharmed, but the way the case went down took a toll on you mentally. You tried to accept the blame, but no one else would allow you to be blamed.
It had been keeping you up at night, thinking you could’ve done something differently that would’ve led to a different outcome. You would stare at the ceiling for all hours of the morning until either your alarm went off or you physically couldn’t keep your eyes open. Sleep deprivation in the field was dangerous, Spencer knew that from personal experience.
So, when the two of you came home from work, decided to decompress on the couch and you fell asleep with your head in his lap, he resolved himself to a night on the couch. If he had to suffer a stiff neck in the morning, he’d get through it just so you can get the rest you so desperately need.
Looking back over at your phone as it rang again, he adjusted the blanket that you had thrown over yourself before finally picking up the phone. He hummed at the screen, your dad was calling you, three times in the last ten minutes.
Spencer looked down at you, your hands folded beneath your head as you dreamt, and he couldn’t get himself to wake you. It felt cruel to wake you when this is the first time you’ve fallen asleep naturally in days, so instead of having you answer the phone, he clicks the green icon and answers the call himself.
“Hey, Hotch,” he greeted, keeping his voice low so that he wouldn’t ruin his own plan and wake you up.
Your father is silent on the other line for a moment, probably checking his screen to double check which number he had called, “Where’s Y/N?” He asked, a hint of fatherly concern laced in his tone.
Watching you sleep, Spencer looked at you as he responded, “She’s right here, she’s asleep.”
Hotch was silent on the other end of the call; he was more than aware of your sleeping problems. Just yesterday, he had pulled Spencer into his office to ask him what was going on with you, which clued Spencer into the fact that you were messing up at work. Little things like missing a checkbox on paperwork and forgetting files on your desk when you were supposed to be in the roundtable room.
Spencer gently cleared his throat, “Did you need to talk to her?” It was a leading question, Spencer was providing the answer on a silver platter, nearly begging your father to just let you sleep.
“No,” Hotch answered quickly, practically scrambling to get the answer out. “No, don’t wake her,” he iterated, “Just, uh… will you tell her I called?”
Nodding even though he couldn’t see, Spencer responded, “Yeah, I’ll tell her in the morning.”
Your dad was quiet for a moment before he spoke up again, “Reid?”
“Yes, sir?” He answered dutifully, his voice just hovering over a whisper as you adjusted in your sleep.
“Thank you,” he responded, matching Spencer’s quiet tone over the phone, likely because Jack was already asleep for the night. “For watching over her,” he continued, clarifying why exactly he was expressing gratitude.
Spencer gently smoothed your hair back, personally grateful to see peace on your face as you slept. “It’s my pleasure,” he whispered in response.
Your dad cleared his throat, “Have a good night, Reid.”
“You as well,” Spencer moved the phone, ending the call before returning it to its place on the side table. Unable to reach you, he pressed two of his fingers to his lips before resting them on your temple, effectively kissing you goodnight before he lifted his book and went back to reading.

pls spencer and bombshell reader where she like sacrifices herself for him or does something outrageous for him. i love your weiting!! 💝
You don’t have any other choice, Spencer’s on the other roof being held in a chokehold by the UnSub —rational thinking goes out the window. He sees your face and, though he’s starting to look a little blue, gestures wildly for you to not do what you’re thinking.
You jump.
You take the landing hard —you ran hard, jumped harder, cringing as the grit of the rooftop tears through your shoulder. You roll into it. In one moment you’re standing, and then you’re knocking the assailant off of your boyfriend just before he falls unconscious.
You forget everything you’re supposed to remember, flipping the UnSub without care onto his front, yanking his arms back, and cuffing him tightly. He’s a serial child murderer, so it’s kinder than he deserves.
“Stay down,” you warn, cuffs so tight you can see the perp’s hand changing colour. You’ll have to fix that soon, but you have more important matters at hand. “Spencer?”
His answer is hoarse, “Yeah.”
You leave the UnSub where he’s laid down and rush to Spencer. You drop to your knees beside him, alarmed that he’s still curled up and gasping. “Hey, hey, what can I do?”
He grabs your arm and sucks in another breath.
“Spencer?”
“Why did you do that?” he asks.
“What?”
“What did you do to your arm? Does it hurt?”
Spencer can barely breathe and he’s asking you if you’re okay. You can see the spots in his eyes. Fuck, he scared you.
“I’m fine,” you say softly, holding him by the shoulders. “Take a deep breath, can you do that for me?”
Your shoulder stings like you’d landed on glass and there’s an ache in your bones from the impact, but the source of your racing pulse is the look on his face, as though he might still pass out. You cringe at the sound of approaching footsteps, but it’s Morgan and Hotch making their way across the gravel top to help you. You turn back to Spencer in relief.
He takes another huge breath. “Good job,” you say quietly, but saccharinely, rubbing his poor chest. “Do you want to sit up?”
“I can’t.”
“Okay. Alright. Just take a breath.”
“Maybe you should take your own advice,” he croaks, putting his hand over your heart.
“I’m fine.”
“Just breathe.” He says your name like a secret. “Just breathe.”
Of course. He’s lying on the ground panting for his life and he’s telling you to calm down.
Morgan has the UnSub up and moving. Hotch kneels beside you both, face lined with poorly concealed stress. “You okay?” he asks. “Spencer?”
“She jumped across the roof.”
“Spencer.” You’re half wounded, half humoured.
Hotch raises his eyebrows at you both. “Well, that’s ridiculous. Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Spencer almost got choked out.”
Hotch looks as though he might give in and rub his face, but he pats your arm instead. “Okay. Reid, can you stand up?”
“Tell her she can’t– can’t jump across rooftops,” Spencer says, suddenly full of indignation as he pushes up onto his elbows. He looks like he’s been hung upside down and shook.
“Well, clearly I can.”
“L/N shouldn’t be jumping across rooftops for any reason, but you’re both…” Hotch smiles wryly. “I almost said unharmed.”
Spencer flops down onto his back. When he speaks, he sounds in a strange place, close to tears and laughing alike, “You have to look at her arm.”
“I think you both need to see a medic, but first, why don’t we all calm down. Let’s regain our senses, and prevent any further unnecessary pain.”
Spencer gives your leg an uncharacteristic whack. He’s so messed up from the chokehold that it’s more like a stroke, but you feel the tap for what it is. He’s saying Don’t do that to me again.
“He really was gonna kill you,” you say, sorry.
“I had it.”
“Respectfully, baby, you did not.”

Summary: You help Eric through an anxiety attack
Note: Obsessed with Eric and I need to protect him from the world, please and thank you. Also, Frodo divider created by me 😊
Warnings: anxiety, panic
Words: 1.5k
The carved out hull of the decimated subway car offers little in the way of protection, but with the power out it seems likely not to cause any unwarranted noise.
Eric ushers you in before himself, the light from the fluorescents of the station giving the two of you just enough to see by. The seats and bent handrails cast gruesome shadows across the small space, and you decide to take advantage of one particularly large pocket of darkness in the corner.
Your back presses up against the cool metal, dented from God only knows what. Slowly, you slide down to the floor and Eric lowers himself down beside you. Both of you are caked with dirt and there’s blood smeared against one leg of your jeans. Luckily, it doesn’t seem to belong to either one of you.
A steady stream of water is somewhere near, the comforting sound letting you breathe just a little easier. Eric must feel the same because he dares to lean in towards you and speak softly.
“Are you okay?”
Never did that seem more complex of a question. You’re not okay in the grand scheme of things, but you’re currently still alive and, for the most part, unharmed.
“I think so,” you whisper in reply. “Are you?”
Eric nods, rubbing his hands up and down his shins, the worn brown material wearing even thinner in a few spots now.
The two of you were fortunate to run into one another in an alleyway between two buildings—the only stroke of luck either of you have had lately. A natural ease quickly proved that you worked well together and seeing as neither of you wanted to be alone, the choice was obvious.
Even though it’s only been roughly twenty-four hours since you’ve met, with all you’ve been through in that time, it feels as if you’ve known Eric for ages. There was no denying how cute he was either, but your brain barely had time for fleeting thoughts like that when your focus is on staying alive.
“How’s your hand?” Eric asks.
You look at the offending appendage, purple from bruising, slightly swollen, and throbbing. Though, it’s slightly better since you’d found that bodega and swiped all the Tylenol and ibuprofen they had.
During the initial chaos of the invasion—is that what to call it? —your back was up against the brick wall of an apartment building and a man was sent hurtling in the air towards you. Your hand had the misfortune to get crushed between the high velocity man and the brick wall. Ever since you’ve met Eric, he’s been helping you wrap your hand and always checking in on it.
“It’s sore,” you admit.
“Let me see?” Eric extends his hand.
Taking a deep breath, you place your injured hand in his.
Warm, calloused fingers undo the binding currently covering the wound and toss them to the subway floor. It feels nice to let your hand breathe a bit, get some air. With just a featherlight touch, Eric traces his index finger around the mottled skin. The delicate touch sends goosebumps up your arm. If he notices them, he doesn’t say.
A sense of disappointment fills your gut when he releases your hand to get fresh bandages. You chew on your chapped bottom lip as you watch Eric rummage through the Phantom of the Opera tote bag you’d snagged from one of those tourist gift shops.
He sprays a bit of disinfectant spray on your hand, the mist feeling doubly cold after having the warmth of his large hand enveloping yours. Next comes a fresh bandage. Eric always applies them so carefully, making sure it’s not too tight but gives your hand some support. You watch him as he works, your eyes taking in the small details of his face while he’s busy focusing on something else.
His dark eyelashes are so long that they kiss his cheeks with every blink. The curls on the top of his head are messy from everything they’ve been through, but it’s unkempt in a charming way. It amazes you how dry his lips are from dehydration, yet they still look so pink and inviting.
Eric secures the bandage on your hand, and you momentarily move on to admiring the color and depth of his eyes when you realize he’s finished and no longer distracted.
Heat comes to your face, so you lift your injury up to inspect it, hoping to give you a minute to cool down.
“Thank you,” you whisper when you lay your hand back down in your lap.
“Of course.”
The good thing about needing to keep quiet during all of this is that none of the silences could be interpreted as awkward. It’s just self-preservation.
It goes on that way for about ten minutes before you feel your head get heavy and decide to lean it against Eric’s shoulder. It’s not long before he gently rests his head on top of yours. Despite the circumstances around you, a small smile grows on your lips.
But your peace doesn’t last long. A groaning of metal and the now too-familiar skittering of legs or pincers or whatever they’re called.
By the sound of it, you guess that the creature is coming from your left, somewhere down the subway track. But there’s no reason for it to know you’re here. As long as you can remain quiet, the monster should just pass you by without trouble.
A hitch in breath from beside you grabs your attention though. Your head jerks in the direction of Eric to find his breathing speed up and his eyes widen in that recognizable panic.
Pressing one hand to his shoulder, you get his attention and his head whips to face you. With your other, injured hand, you hold up a finger to your mouth for him to stay quiet.
Eric nods but the rate of his breathing only increases. You shake your head and lean in towards him.
“Breathe.” The words could barely be considered a full whisper.
You’ve helped him through these anxiety attacks a few times now so you try to tell yourself you can do it again. You can’t blame the poor guy for being so scared, either.
The clicking of the approaching monster comes closer then stops. It feels as if time pauses while you wait to see what will happen now.
Smashing the play button, the creature falls from where it must have been crawling on the ceiling, to land on the subway platform.
Eric jumps and you see his teeth clench together as he tries to keep the panic at bay.
Step by crunching step, the being stalks closer to your subway car. Even though it can’t see you, instinct tells you to get further out of sight.
As silently as possible, you scoot over so there’s enough room for you to lay flat on the floor of the car. Eric glances down at you and you motion for him to do the same. He gives you a quick nod and with shaking hands, moves to lay down next to you.
Within the cramped space it’s hard for two adults to lay flat, side by side, so Eric ends up on his side, facing you. If you turned your head to look at him, your noses would brush.
One long black limb stretches out from the creature and crushes a piece of metal right outside your car—probably the remains of an adjoining car.
Eric’s anxiety spikes again and before you can think about it, you wrap your arm around his shoulders and bring his body down on top of yours.
It’s not the most comfortable angle for either of you, almost awkward. But Eric wastes no time grabbing onto your waist, his head falling to the juncture between your neck and shoulder.
Consciously, you slow your breathing down in hopes that Eric’s will follow your lead.
Another crunch of metal rents the air and you both jump, clinging tighter to one another. Eric’s grip on your body changed positions slightly, and now his head is resting right over your heart.
You glance down and watch as Eric visibly calms. He takes a few deep breaths and lets his eyes slip closed as he lays against you.
It takes you a few moments to realize what caused the change. Eric’s head is on its side, his right ear directly over your heart. He’s listening to your heartbeat. And it’s calming him. The thought alone makes your heart rate speed up.
Slowly, you reach up and gently rest your hand in his hair. He tilts his chin up so he can see your face and you give him a small smile. The one he gives you in return brings forward the confidence to begin running your fingers through Eric’s soft curls.
The two of you stay that way, listening as the creature moves farther and farther away, until you can’t hear it at all anymore.
But even then, after the immediate threat is gone and everything seems peaceful and calm around you, you both still stay that way. His hands holding onto your body, his head over your heart, and you carding your fingers through his curls.
Maybe this subway car is a better place to be than you originally thought.

Reader runs behind slasher because someone else is harassing/chasing/stalking them. They don't even know they hid behind a killer for help and apologized to the killer for their awkward action of hiding behind them.
Imagine if reader is so polite that they do a apologetic bending bow.
Slashers Being the Protector (Rather than the Killer)
Slashers x Reader (Separate)
Includes: Freddy, Michael, Jason, Thomas, Bubba, Brahms, Norman, Billy, Stu, Vincent, & Bo
Warnings: Being chased/stalked, maybe a couple cuss words?
A/N: Thank you for the request! I didn't do the bow for every Slasher since I felt like it would get repetitive after a while. But I hope you enjoy either way!
Obviously, walking home alone is never your first choice, but it's not like you had an option.
Your job kept you late. And as much as you wished you could have just set some damn boundaries for yourself, you couldn't say no. You were probably the only one that actually cared about your job.
You kept a fast pace, holding your head down as to not make eye contact with anyone you passed by.
And this worked for a while. You were at a point in your journey home where you found yourself completely alone. However, there was still a part of you that felt uneasy. They always say that humans are able to tell when someone is watching them, and you were clearly no exception to this.
You finally took a deep breath and paused, mustering up the courage to look at your surroundings.
The woods were beside you, the darkness only allowing you to see a few trees at a time, but thankfully, no one seemed to be there.
Ahead of you was just more concrete and not a single street lamp in view.
And behind you... was someone.
You hadn't expected to see anyone there, but of course your luck would prove otherwise.
Your eyes widened and your breath got caught in your throat. Why were they just standing there?
Without taking your eyes off of them, you took one step backwards.
They took one forwards.
You took another step.
They did too.
It was in that moment that you knew you had to think quickly.
Should you just turn around and keep running straight ahead? No, that would prove useless. They would surely outrun you and grab ahold of you in no time.
Or should you turn and run to the woods, hiding behind trees for long enough that they give up?
You didn't like this idea much more than the first, but you figured this was probably the only option that got you out of this unharmed.
With your eyes watering and jaw clenching, you sprinted towards the woods.
You could hear their footsteps behind you, branches and leaves snapping in the distance.
They were catching up.
A sob slipped from your lips as you could feel your legs burn.
Keep pushing. Keep going.
And you did, right towards a figure in the distance.
Freddy Krueger
He could hear your sporadic heartbeat from a mile away
He was already smiling, hoping that you were about to be another easy victim
But something about your fright felt off
Someone else was after you
The moment you came into view, his smile softened a bit
You looked so desperate and scared
In any other context, he would have loved to see it, but it wasn't him making you feel this way
Plus, you weren't repulsive to him like everyone else
He could see the split second of hesitation on your face when you saw his gnarled skin and sharp gloves
But clearly that other person had spooked you more
You were already apologizing, begging for some sort of help
You weren't even six feet from Freddy when he raised his arm and a sudden thud could be heard behind you
The person who was once following you no longer had a head
You turned back to the burnt man, suddenly feeling worried that you would be next, but instead, he grabbed the side of your face
"I can't blame the guy. I would have wanted to snatch you up too," he cackled
Michael Myers
Michael raised a single brow under his mask
Clearly, you were terrified of the person chasing after you, but was seeing another large man holding a bloody knife of no concern to you?
You ran up to him, coming to an immediate stop when you saw the blade glinting back at you
"I-I need help. Please," you could barely choke out
He could tell you were trying to figure out who to be more afraid of
It's not like Michael really cared that you were being chased, but this was his territory, no one else is allowed to do his job for him
He stepped in front of you, watching as the other person slowly came to a halt
He grabbed your arm and began to drag you towards the figure
You started to cry at this, thinking he was about to give you up
Instead, his knife plunged deeply into the other person's neck, their body collapsing to the ground
You had blood splattered on you, and you could still feel the fear in your chest
You gave him a soft bow, wordlessly thanking him before stumbling back out
It was only when you heard a branch snap behind you that you turned around
He was still behind you
As you kept walking, he kept following
You really thought he'd just help you without something in return?
Jason Voorhees
He thought he killed everyone already, so how did he miss you?
How did he miss someone so cute too?
Oh, you're running towards him instead of away
This is odd
If he had been any other average sized person, you would have tackled him to the ground with how hard you collided with him
"I-I need help. Please!" you cried out, rushing behind him
He quickly took notice of the person chasing after you, them stopping in their tracks at the sight of Jason
Now, who's being hunted?
The stalker began to run the other way, not failing to notice the freshly bloodied machete like you did
However, with Jason's stride, it didn't take long for him to catch up and knock the person's head clean off in one swipe
He took a deep breath and turned back to face you, expecting you to be running for the hills
Instead, you ran up and hugged him, thanking him through your tears
You weren't... scared?
He had no idea what to do, so he just stood there while you cried into him
At least he was right about his earlier judgment
You were cute
Too cute to turn into just another victim
Thomas Hewitt
He was actually making his way towards you both
He thought you two would be good additions to tonight's menu
But the moment he saw you look at him in relief instead of terror...
Something in him shook
Before you could even say anything, he was guiding you behind him, some protective instinct overriding his usual hunter side
The person who was following put their hands up, saying that they "didn't want any trouble"
And in response, Thomas through a meat cleaver at their head
You about screamed but he turned around, looking at you softly
"I-I'm sorry. You didn't have to d-do that," you said barely above a whisper
He just shook his head and continued to watch you, some internal battle waging inside him
He really really didn't want to kill you
But what would his family think?
Only one way to find out, he supposes
With that, he hoists you up and into his arms bridal style, carrying back home
Bubba Sawyer
Bubba is about three times the size of the guy chasing you
So despite the unpleasant mask, you felt like he was your only chance at safety
He tilted his head in confusion
Normally, people like you run the opposite way from him
So the moment you're in front of him, heaving and shakily explaining what's going on, he feels angry
He might be a murderous cannibal, but Mama taught him some manners
He quickly whips out the chainsaw beside him, causing you to jump at the sight
Now it was the stalker's turn to be afraid
You were left in the woods for probably 15 minutes alone, still too scared to unfreeze yourself from the spot
It was only when you saw a large figure in the distance carrying something that you finally got your bearings
Bubba walked a little past you, holding the body of the man prior
He stops for a second and looks at you, motioning his head for you to follow
And what were you going to do?
Say "no" to the man holding a chainsaw and a dead body?
Brahms Heelshire
Brahms was already on edge
He never strayed this far from the mansion, and the fact that he was out this far made him feel very jumpy
So when he saw you running straight for him, he was ready to attack
Until he saw the desperation on your face
"Help! Please!" you begged him
And a cute thing like yourself would be difficult for him to deny
He saw the figure stalking after you, slowing down when they realized they had company
Brahms stepped in front of you and gave the person a challenged look
And it seemed to have worked, because the person began to back off almost immediately
He could have killed the guy, sure
But he wasn't going to be a threat anymore
Why? Because you were coming home with him
And once you're in his territory, there's no leaving
He'll make sure of it
Norman Bates
Norman wasn't even sure how he got there in the first place
All he remembers was being at home when suddenly everything went black
And now he was here, watching as some person runs up to him him in a panic
Before he could say a word, you were holding onto him, spinning yourself around so you were behind him
And that's when he saw another figure in the distance
"P-please," you suddenly croaked, "I don't know who that is. I was just walking home alone and I-"
He shushes you, his eyes still locked on the man
He could feel your head bump into his back as you bowed, muttering apologies to him
"It's okay," he reassured. "They're not going to do anything."
His brows furrowed as his face twitched
Maybe it was your cute panicked face, or the way your soft hands were gripping his back
But either way, Norman could feel his conscious fading out
He won't hurt you, though the same can't be said for the other person
He just hopes you'll still be there when he comes to
Billy Loomis
You were terrified, that was obvious
But he was honestly surprised that you seemed more scared of a random weirdo behind you than the notorious serial killer straight ahead
You grabbed his arm, not failing to notice the sharp blade in his dominant hand
"I-if you're going to kill me," you gulped, "Then fine, but can you please kill them first?" you motioned
This may have been an odd suggestion to most, but the worst Ghostface was going to do was stab you, but you had no idea what the other person's intentions were
The creep was only a few feet away now, their hand also donning a sharp blade
Billy wouldn't have normally entertained such an idea, but he knew you from school
And God, were you pretty
"Shit," he whispered
He twirled the knife around as he approached the figure, the latter already stepping back
It was an easy kill, and Billy was back to your side in no time
"Thank you," you bowed, head down and awaiting your fate
Instead, he grabbed your chin and made you look at his mask
He couldn't wait to see you at school the next day
Stu Macher
He could see you freeze the moment you were in sight
The Ghostface attire was already pretty notorious in the town, and he could see the worry on your face at the realization
And clearly, the person chasing you also felt the same, because the moment they saw him, they ran off the other direction
Tears began to stream down your face at this
Although, he couldn't tell if they were from relief or fear at that point
He stepped a little closer to you as you stumbled back
"P-please, don't, I-"
He dropped his knife and reached out to you in response
You shakily took his hand, obviously scared of what he was going to do
But he simply began walking you out of the woods, checking around for the creep
He walked you all the way home before giving you a small wave and running off, leaving you completely dumbfounded
He spared you?
It took you a few days afterwards to almost forget about the situation
Until you turned on the news
There was a report of a dead body found in the same woods you were just in a couple nights before
Another apparent criminal from the area...
You gulped, realizing it was your stalker as the phone suddenly rang
"Unknown caller"
Huh, weird
Vincent Sinclair
Bo somehow got him to leave that musty old building
But of course, he ran off to God knows where and left Vincent alone
So the moment he saw your figure sprinting closer, he assumed that Bo would be the one to follow
However, he quickly noticed that the man behind you was not his brother, and he suddenly felt dumbfounded on what to do
Bo would surely be pissed, but something about you told him you shouldn't become just another wax figure in his collection
So the moment you were close enough, he was stepping in front of you, some newfound confidence leading him
The stalker hesitated for a moment before finally stumbling back, leaving the two of you alone
"Thank you, thank you!" you repeated, your head instinctively shifting downwards
Vincent took a deep breath in while looking at you
Yep, Bo was definitely going to be angry
But oh well
You were just too sweet to let go stale
Bo Sinclair
He could hear your erratic footsteps rushing closer to him
And unlike most of the others on this list, he comes off as a seemingly normal guy, so of course you wouldn't hesitate to go to him
His cocky smile only widens when he gets a look at your face
A mighty cute thing, you are
"Excuse me? Sir, I think I'm being followed and-" your voice cracked
How precious
Surely too pretty and too soft to be made into hard wax, hmm?
He steps towards you, and you think he's about to help you
But no
He grabs ahold of your shirt tightly, muttering some smooth nonsense to your stalker about finding "a good place for this one"
Tears begin to stream down you face
How could you have so blindly trusted a stranger?
He leads the both of you back to some empty building that you assume will be the last place you'll be alive
But the moment Bo turns back around, a pipe is swung into the other man's head
He'd be a great addition to the museum
You turn to your "savior" in confusion
"Can't let a pretty thing like you go to waste, huh darlin'?"
All you can do is tilt your head down in a silent "thank you"

Okay, I've been nerd sniped, I'm sorry
NOTE: If you're going to reblog just to say "not reading that" or some other rude shit, DON'T. I've seen so many notifications of people just saying they couldn't be bothered to read it. I don't know if it's just that they don't see how incredibly rude and disheartening that is or if they know and don't care, but either way it really hurts to see, so please don't reblog if it's just to tell me you won't read it.
So let's go through the canonical likelihood they could each beat Goku. For the sake of keeping canon, we'll keep groups/pairs together if they would never reasonably be apart for something like this. Long post below the cut.
So first up are the ones I see that would, without a doubt, beat Goku.
Saiki K
Saiki is an omnipotent psychic/psionic with quite literally every single possible power out there. Now, this on its own isn't enough to beat Goku. Versatility doesn't mean everything, but Saiki is also powerful enough to rewrite the genetics and reality of everything within range, and his range is, so far, "Earth".
So this, on its own, would allow him to rewrite Goku's biology to make him Human. Bye bye zenkai boosts, bye bye Saiyan transformations. And Saiki, with his powers, has no trouble beating a Human of any caliber if he truly wanted to. And for those who ask "Why would he ever fight Goku?"
One simple reason: Goku would sense his immense power, and be excited for a fight. Goku is respectful enough to not force one if he's refused, but he's persistent enough to badger Saiki until he's given a chance. And Saiki, being Saiki, would simply take off one of his limiters, or both, and rewrite reality as such: "Being an alien isn't possible", thereby making it effective immediately that Goku must be lying/insane, and he is, in fact, Human. Easy win for Saiki.
And for those who would argue against this, bear in mind, the funniest way to beat Goku in this instance would be to simply make him weaker than Saiki, and Saiki is a gag character from a gag series, and it's already been shown in the world of Dragon Ball, and again in Dragon Ball Super, that Goku is incapable of defeating a gag character regardless of that characters canonical ability.
Saiki could win without gag character status, but even in the instance of Goku "beating" him, the gag would turn out to be that Saiki only pretended to get beaten, and is actually entirely unharmed because it was the easiest way to get Goku to leave him alone. Followed by a reveal that Goku will still show up now and then to ask for sparring matches, to drive the point home.
Popeye
Gag character. Would get beaten handily, crawl his way to spinach, and then be exactly as strong as he needs to be to take Goku down in however many hits is funniest.
Bugs Bunny
The gag character to end all gag characters. Someone on this hellsite once described Bugs as a "Trickster God who traps us in our own societal expectations" or some such. Like convincing Thanos to remove the Infinity Gauntlet by establishing a security checkpoint with a metal detector and shaming him into cooperating by telling him there's others waiting.
He could beat Goku in a billion ways, and each and every one of them would involve some shenanigan like Goku throwing a spirit bomb, Bugs showing up behind him holding it, saying "Ehhh, can you hold this for a second?" and as soon as Goku takes it and Bugs is off-screen, it would explode and Goku would be a pile of ashes with blinking eyes. Bugs would win because Bugs' gag is that...well, he simply can't be beaten.
The Warner Trio
Gag trio. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot would snark, sass, and sarcastic-joke their way into the scene, and they would spend the entire time poking fun at him, roasting his look, being unfazed by his attacks because "Nice laser show but we didn't bring our glowsticks." and just being too unbothered to care.
They would undoubtedly annoy Goku into admitting defeat simply to get away from them.
Road Runner
Gag character. Would force Goku to chase him, Goku would fire some blasts, chase him around, and inevitably be led right into the path of a blast he fired earlier to be disintegrated by it.
Pop Team Epic
I know nothing about this series except that it is a gag series. They are gag characters. That means Goku is inherently incapable of beating them.
ASDF Guy
Gag character. Could beat Goku with a simple "Hello, Mine-Turtle!" or "I like Trains."
Heart Diagram
Goku was literally killed by a heart virus in Future Trunks' timeline. This is one that has actually canonically already killed Goku.
Chowder
Gag character. Would likely be after S-Cells for some recipe and need to take Goku's as he's "The only Saiyan in this episode!" or some such, thereby ending the fight with a shot of Chowder wearing Goku's Gi for comedic effect while Dahl stirs raw Super Saiyan aura in a pot to hint that Chowder killed Goku for his S-Cells.
Force Ghost Trio
Gag versions of serious characters, and also ghosts. Goku is canonically unable to beat ghosts or gag characters, and these guys are both.
Those are the ones that would, without a doubt, beat Goku.
Now, let's go over the ones that could, potentially, be it likely or unlikely.
Kirby
Kirby is often considered a gag character, but he isn't. He has a very specific level of power, even if that level of power is "fuck you" levels of power. Kirby has beaten Gods, but so has Goku, even more often and with greater ease. However, Kirby has absorption and power-theft. Kirby could, potentially, absorb Goku (he isn't the brightest and Kirby has his unassuming appearance on his side) and take on his strongest form, including its powerup, and given Kirby in base form is likely more powerful than Goku in base form (Goku needed SSJ to scare Supreme Kai, Kirby beats Gods in base), it's possible Kirby would be more powerful than Goku with the same power up.
Kevin McCallister
Okay, hear me out.
Kevin is technically a gag character, BUT. He is not TRULY a gag character. He just happens to be a comedy character.
So he isn't guaranteed to win, but he could still possibly do so. How you ask?
Goku has been somewhat injured or lightly shaken by the following: planet-shattering attacks. Punches that rock the universe. Energy blasts so potent they would destroy entire galaxies.
Goku has been rendered inconsolable from the pain of the following: chest pain and a half-heartedly, boredly tossed pebble.
It is canon that when Goku and the other fighters in the series are expecting an attack or primed for battle, they are protected by their ki, like armor. It's how they're able to knock away attacks that would destroy planets, or put their "bare" hands on plasma energy that would normally burn the skin off you from a mile away let alone touching it.
This is why when Krillin threw the rock at Goku, it left him in agony and bruised him despite Goku being in Super Saiyan form at the time. This is why Chi-Chi is able to injure Goku regardless of how strong he gets.
So, how does this relate to Kevin being able to beat him? It's everything. It's critical information.
Kevin McCallister's entire M.O. is unexpected attacks. You open a door, you see a bucket fall, think it's over, turns out no, second bucket pulled by the first, second bucket is full of paint and open, you're blinded, you get your bearings, you take a step and feel cars, you smirk and step over them only to find marbles, you slip, you land on the cars which turn out to have been rigged to break easier to let loose a single thumbtack which is now firmly stuck in your back or butt. You bolt upright only to slam your head on a 2x4 that was rigged to hang down from a rope when you fell because your impact shook things enough to make it fall from a precarious perch above.
You get the idea. Every time you think it's safe to let your guard down, that's when the next wave hits. So you say "well he would stop letting his guard down" right? You fool. You know nothing of Goku. He would never put his guard UP. This is a human child, Goku can sense his pitiful power level. His strength? His speed? His ki? Weak. Pathetic. Nothing. A scouter wouldn't even register his power it's so low.
Goku never raises his guard to Chi-Chi, or to Bulma, or to Hercule. He does not raise his defense against normal, powerless, non-combative humans.
"BUT KEVIN IS COMBATIVE" No. He isn't. Goku can sense intent, power, and location. But Kevin isn't actively intending to hurt Goku. He's intending to protect himself and his home. He's not actively wanting to hurt Goku, he's just wanting Goku to leave. He doesn't have power to threaten Goku with, so Goku won't pick up on any threatening aura. And while Goku could simply instant transmission to Kevin and do what he will, we're not talking about how Goku could win, we're going over the fact Kevin could POSSIBLY win.
Enough injury and Goku is down for the count. Otherwise, Goku leaves to avoid further injury, and thereby admits defeat. Both cases, Kevin wins.
Shedinja
This one took me...quite a while. I had to do a lot of extra research for this. So, my immediate thought was Shedinja is a Ghost type, so ghost rules, right? Nah. Bug and Ghost type, and they are the physical shell left behind that has been reanimated. So they very much are physical beings, and given their ability to faint in the games and show they are capable of being physically damaged.
But There's a real case to be made for Shedinja beating Goku.
It can learn Ghost type moves, which operate on ghost-logic, and therefore are a canon weakness Goku is known to have. So things like Shadow Ball, Hex, Curse, and the like would all effect Goku regardless of Ki or form.
It also has access to Wonder Guard, which renders it "immune to all damage types that are not Super-Effective". For those unaware, we can actually attribute Typings to Goku's moves based on attributes and traits they share with Pokemon moves. His melee is, by nature, Fighting type, which Shedinja is immune to. In fact, Shedinja is immune to ALL attack types except Flying, Rock, Ghost, Dark, and Fire type moves, which are all Super Effective.
Goku's most common methods would actually fall under Fighting and Normal type attacks. "But his Ki blasts-" would be Normal type moves. You want proof?
Focus Energy is Normal Type. Quick Attack is Normal Type. Self Destruct is Normal Type. Techno Blast is Normal Type. Tera Blast is Normal Type. These are all energy based moves similar to ki blasts. Know what other energy based move is Normal Type? Hyperbeam. Which is almost identical to the Kamehameha and every other beam attack in DBZ.
Those few attacks Goku has that aren't going to be Normal Type will be Fighting Type.
Shedinja is Immune to all Normal and Fighting Type moves. Goku literally can not damage Shedinja, but Shedinja can damage Goku through Ghost Type moves. Shedinja can beat Goku. But why is it not "absolutely will" beat him? Because Goku can also transform his Ki and if he finds out Shedinja is vulnerable to fire, he can and will use that to his advantage.
That's who could potentially beat Goku. Here's who absolutely could not.
Saitama
I forgot to go over Saitama originally so here's the edit that features that analysis. Bear in mind I am saying this as someone who has seen Seasons 1 and 2 of the show AND is aware of some of the events of the manga.
A lot of reblogs over Saitama claim he is a gag character. But there is a case to be made that he is NOT. What is that case you ask? Well, for the sake of fairness, here is how I am handling gag characters: if their gag is in effect in 100% of all cases (such as looney tunes like Bugs or Road Runner) or if the gag is triggered in 100% of all cases (such as Saiki K or Chowder) then they are a True Gag Character and will insta-win.
However, if their gag has failed (such as Wario, or, yes, even Saitama) in ANY case, then it CAN fail again, and the fairest fight is one against two non-gag characters, so we can safely apply non-gag Saitama here since his gag has failed and Goku meets the conditions to cause it to fail again, which I'll explain.
So, first off, how does his gag fail? Well, his gag is that he kills everything instantly in one hit, unless he actively chooses not to. So we can safely say his gag fails if any of the following are true: he fails to instantly kill an enemy with a single hit while intending to do so, OR if he fails to kill an enemy with a serious hit intended to kill.
He meets both of these conditions. Boros survived for several seconds AFTER Saitama hit him with a Serious Punch. It was a single hit that intended to kill...But he didn't kill Boros INSTANTLY with it. Another example of his gag failing, if that doesn't satisfy, is Garou. Garou, in the manga, has survived MULTIPLE Serious Punches with intent to kill. This, on its own, is proof Saitama's Serious Punch does in fact have a limit to its output. It also proves his gag can, and does, fail against certain opponents.
So the next thing we need to look at is similarities between Garou and Boros to identify what they share that could possibly allow them to get around Saitama's gag, or to nullify it entirely. First similarity is that both are determined to have a good, satisfying fight. Boros crossed the stars seeking one, and Garou sought to become a true Monster powerful enough to force every hero, every do-gooder, to unite under one banner just to take him down. They both seek a battle to end all battles, even if Garou's intention is to end it in his favor, not simply enjoy the fight.
The second similarity is that they have incredibly unique circumstances, even by OPM standards. Garou is a man who has always felt love for the bad guy, he looks to the monsters as inspirations, as the misunderstood and the victimized by those claiming to be heroes. He's trained by an S-Class hero, and has developed into a being of unimaginable power in the pursuit of his dream. Very much a true foil to Saitama, who looked to heroes in comics as inspirations, as the righteous and unshakably moral, self-taught through and through and developed into a being of unimaginable power in the pursuit of HIS dream. Garou is, in this way, a reflection of Saitama, the Tails to Saitama's Heads, the dark to his light.
Boros on the other hand is an alien, forced to become strong by his homeworld's unforgiving conditions, developing a level of power necessary to survive and then some, and on realizing he was far too powerful for his own good, he sought purpose, meaning, and when he heard he may find a worthy opponent, he did everything he could to achieve that future, to realize his dream of facing a foe that would give him a true challenge.
So what are the similarities we can identify? Notably unique circumstances even by OPM standards, sharing strong similarities to Saitama's desires or dreams (Garou dreaming of becoming the greatest Monster vs Saitama dreaming of becoming the greatest Hero, Boros feeling lost in life and seeking a worthy foe vs Saitama feeling bored with living and wishing for the sensation of a real fight again), and the desire for a serious and ultimate battle.
Goku fits ALL of these conditions. He is an alien sent to Earth for his protection, grew up in hostile conditions (surviving on his own for most of his childhood, constant battles with Nation-level threats throughout his teen years, constant battles with world or universe-level threats throughout his adulthood), trained extensively until he was the best of the best, has the ultimate dream of a truly satisfying battle (a dream he routinely seeks out by facing down powerful foes), and being entirely bored with mundane life because there's absolutely no challenge to it, not to mention the fact he has the ultimate dream of becoming the strongest, something he shares with Saitama's pre-OPM self.
Since Goku fits ALL the conditions needed to make this battle exempt from the gag, we will NOT be considering it, as Saitama is not a True Gag Character, and Goku fitting conditions for nullifying it means we can assume actual power limits and such.
So let's look at feats of power. Saitama's Serious Side Hop technique allowed him to create AT LEAST 60 after-images (based on the manga panel) which, when compared with Sonic's 4, means Saitama was moving 15x faster than Sonic in that moment (bare minimum). An afterimage like that is created by moving at least 572mph, stopping in each position for at least 1/255th of a second (any less and the human eye can't pick up on it), so by moving from position A to B for 1/255th of a second and back to A, going 572mph between the two, you create the afterimage.
Sonic creates 4 simultaneously, meaning he needs to move to 3 positions and then back to starting position, or go from A to B, B to A, A to C, C to A, A to D, and repeat.
This means Sonic, to move into each of these positions in less than 1/255th of a second, would need to be moving ~4x faster than the speed for one afterimage. That puts him as moving at 2,228mph while creating those 4 afterimages. Given he is capable of Mach 5 speeds (he's said to be hypersonic) this feat is easy for him, as Mach 5 is 3,805mph. I assume, just as it's easier to move at top speed in a straight line than at sharp turns for a normal person, it's likely more difficult to create such consistent afterimages and so the difficulty that makes it his best attack is from the technique and reaction involved, not the speed itself.
In any case, if Saitama made at least 60 afterimages, putting him at 15x faster than Sonic's speed while creating 4, that puts Saitama's speed at 33,420mph just to account for the 60 we can count in the manga panel. This means 33,420 is the MINIMUM speed we can assume for Saitama's max ability. To be generous, given he wasn't winded after doing that and given he was able to react incredibly easily to the near-instant directional changes, I'll be kind and put his maximum speed at 10,000x this number.
That puts Saitama's speed at 334,200,000mph, or 49.8% the speed of light. We'll be kind again and say 50% the speed of light, round up that last .2%
So we have a speed value for Saitama. Now what about Goku? Well, let's look at Goku on Namek, for a moment. Base form Goku, at the start of his fight against Freeza. Goku, BEFORE his super saiyan transformation, was moving at 3.26 (we'll round down to 3) times the speed of light. How do I get this number? Buckle up, it's involved.
The Namekian ship Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan took to get to Namek made it from Earth to Jupiter in "seconds". That means less than a minute, so we'll say it took them 1 minute just to lowball it and to have a solid starting number. Jupiter, when the two planets are at their closest to each other (assuming shorter distance for slower speed, another lowball), is 365,000,000 miles from Earth. This means the Namekian ship moved 365mil miles in 1 minute.
That puts the Namekian ship at a speed of 21.9 billion miles per hour. They made it to Namek in 30 days of travel. The ship Goku took to Namek made the trip in 5 days. That means Goku's ship is 6 times faster than the Namekian ship. Don't worry, the ship speed DOES matter in this, I promise you.
So Goku's ship moves at 131,400,000,000mph. That's 131 billion, 400 million miles per hour. Or 195x the speed of light.
Why does the ship speed matter so much, you might ask?
Because King Kai could visually keep up with the ship. He was able to track Goku's progress with ease, and could see his ships movements without problems. This means King Kai's eyes and brain are capable of perceiving and processing things that move at 195x the speed of light.
Why does that matter? Because Super Saiyan is canonically a 50x multiplier to ALL base ability. Strength, speed, durability, etc.
And Goku, in Super Saiyan, was moving so fast King Kai stated he could no longer keep up. King Kai, capable of seeing and processing the input of vision on a ship moving 195x the speed of light, could not see or process the input of vision on Super Saiyan Goku.
We'll lowball it, and say Goku only needed to move 1 mph faster than 195x the speed of light for King Kai to lose track of him. So whatever value we get, we'll add 1mph to for Goku's base form speed.
So 195x the speed of light +1mph. 195/50=3.9x the speed of light. That's 2,616,900,000mph, adding in the extra mph makes it 2,616,900,001mph. So Base Form Goku moves at ~3.9x the speed of light, ON NAMEK. Super Saiyan is a 50x multiplier, putting him at ~195x the speed of light. Super Saiyan 2 is a 100x multiplier to Base, so 390x the speed of light. Super Saiyan 3 is a 400x multiplier, so 1,560x the speed of light. Super Saiyan God is a 20,000 multiplier so 78,000x the speed of light. Super Saiyan Blue is a 1 million times multiplier, so 3,900,000x the speed of light. And lastly, Mastered Ultra Instinct is a 300 billion times multipler, so 1.17 trillion times the speed of light.
Why did I bother going through all those multipliers? He wins in Base as of Namek saga lol. Anyway, continuing on to strength now that we've established Base Goku on Namek could move 3.9x faster than the Speed of Light while Saitama could only move at 0.5x the Speed of Light.
Strength. Okay. This one is harder to gauge, but we CAN gauge it. We'll go in terms of level of damage, so human level (would be on-par or less than peak human ability), town level (small towns), city level (large cities), nation level (an entire nation, less than a continent), continent level (one or more nations that span an entire continent), world-surface level (the surface of an Earth-sized planet), Planetary (capable of destroying an entire Earth-sized planet), Solar (capable of destroying a solar system), Galactic (capable of destroying a galaxy), multi-galactic (capable of destroying many galaxies), Universal (capable of destroying an entire universe), Multiversal (capable of destroying multiple universes).
We'll start with Goku this time. Goku's punches are, as of the Battle of Gods arc, strong enough to match Beerus perfectly to nullify the shockwaves of Beerus' attacks. Mind you, the mere shockwave of Beerus' attacks are enough to rip and tear the fabric of the universe itself, as stated by Elder Kai. This puts Goku's punches as being powerful enough to tear the fabric of the universe in when he first obtained Super Saiyan God. Why does this matter for Base Goku? Because Base Goku retained his SSJG power, as stated by Beerus.
So Goku in Base, post-battle of gods, is physically capable of punches that can tear apart the universe from the aftershocks alone. This is important to note because Elder Kai could physically feel the shockwaves from the World of the Kais. This makes Goku Universe-level in strength. This means Goku, post-BoG, in Super Saiyan is 50x stronger than what's needed for Universal, while Goku, as of current manga canon (assuming he didn't actually get any stronger since BoG and is simply more powerful due to new transformations) is capable of a form (Mastered Ultra Instinct) that puts him 300 billion times stronger than minimum Universe level strength.
And Saitama? Where does he fit here? Well, I thought this gap would be bigger honestly? But after researching, it seems the gap isn't all that big. Saitama has, canonically, with a Serious Punch, snuffed out an entire cylinder of stars and presumably every planet, moon, asteroid, and more, at a distance surpassing that of our solar system, and with a diameter surpassing it as well. This puts Saitama's power (if we lowball it MASSIVELY) at Solar. He could, in a single punch, destroy our entire solar system, and he wouldn't even need to be serious to do it. It's worth noting this is coupled with Garou's own Saitama-level Serious Punch, so we can assume this level of power is double Saitama's own.
So how do we determine the specifics? Well, he cleared an area large enough to cover, presumably, half the area of stars destroyed in the path of his and Garou's serious punches.
Through future revelations in the series we learn they didn't "destroy" every star in that path, but likely only several were destroyed, and possibly a galaxy, while the remainder of the void left behind was from the shockwave forcing every other star within range into a new position, creating a void in space that all stars had been moved from, save the few that were in the DIRECT path of their attack.
Another theory is that the Serious Punch^2 simply distorted the photons in the area, resulting in the appearance of a massive void, and this theory is based on the angles in the manga and comments made by other characters that paint Earth as the only thing in real danger from the power of the attack.
To be fair to Saitama, where we would lowball Goku, we'll highball Saitama, and say the Serious Punch^2 outright destroyed every star in the area. That level of power would, naturally, have shockwaves that push nearby stars out of the way AND distort photons in the area, resulting in a massive cone of destruction surrounded by a large cylinder of force.
This puts Saitama at, quite easily, multi-galactic level of strength.
But why did I say this gap isn't as big as I expected? One simple thing. Saitama has canonically punched his way into a different dimension in the manga. That means he's capable of brute-forcing his way out of the bounds of his universe. He is capable of physically destroying the fabric of the universe.
Meaning Saitama's strength is, bare minimum, Universal in close proximity. That puts him, strength-wise, on par with Goku, who through training has become stronger than Super Buu (who was so strong he could shout his way out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, a dimension separate from our own), meaning Goku is also Universal in close proximity.
So...while I expected Saitama to be ~Planetary, MAYBE he'd be Solar at most...Research indicates he's actually Universal, or near-Universal, meaning the fight may not be too far a gap after all.
Goku may have Saitama beat on speed (given recent manga events in OPM, I'm willing to allow that Saitama is faster than light speed, but Goku having as many forms as he does (Kaioken, which he can combine with other forms and can hit a multiplier of x100 on top of whatever power he currently has, SSJ1-3, SSJG, SSJB, MUI) means even if Saitama matches Base Goku, he's likely not going to stand up to his stronger forms).
But on strength, I'd wager they're close enough for this fight to be one hell of a battle.
What about Durability? After all, all the strength in the world won't save you if you're as easy to kill as a simple bullet to the head, right?
Goku has withstood universe-ripping punches (from Beerus, the God of Destruction, and based on comments in the manga he's one of the stronger Gods of Destruction too), dimension-tearing attacks (from Goku Black, pre-Fusion), energy blasts that even the Gods of Destruction were nervous of (from Jiren during the Tournament of Power), and he survived multiple blasts from Granolah post-wish buff, who was renowned for his sniping power pre-wish, and post-wish was as powerful as he would be if he had spent every single second of the next 147 years training non-stop with the absolute healthiest amount of rest and physical care, making him, presently, as powerful as he would be at the END of that time, with the price paid being that he only had 3 years to live as he lost 1 year of his lifespan for each power boost.
It was also clear that Granolah was the strongest in the universe...at the time of his wish. Goku and Vegeta, who were already on their way, were not as powerful as Granolah even with their transformations. They became stronger during their fight with him, and stronger still during their fight with Gas (who was more powerful than Granolah after Gas transformed and mastered his transformation).
So we can safely assume Goku is Multiversal in Durability, as he himself was able to output Universal damage with each punch, and he was able to survive hits from beings drastically stronger than himself.
What about Saitama? Well, Saitama was able to survive the force of the Serious Punch^2 and he was able to casually bust his way into another dimension. So his Serious Punch, if he wanted it to, could easily destroy the barrier between universes or dimensions.
And given he survived the force of two of them impacting each other, I would put Saitama at, bare minimum, Universe-level durability. But given he was able to survive prolonged battle against Garou, who is a Power Mimic and has shown Saitama-level strength, we can safely assume Saitama is BEYOND Universal-level durability, and so we can put him right there with Goku at Multiversal durability.
So what do we have so far?
Goku has speed equal to, in Base Form, 3.9x lightspeed, and 1.17 trillion times lightspeed in his most powerful form.
Goku has Universal level strength in Base Form, 300 billion times that in his most powerful form.
Goku has Universal durability in Base Form, Multiversal durability in his most powerful form (300 billion times his Base Form's durability).
Saitama has speed equal to, at minimum, 0.5x lightspeed, and at maximum, if we highball it, 2x lightspeed.
Saitama has Universal strength.
Saitama has Universal durability at minimum, and Multiversal durability at maximum.
At this point, I'm convinced the speed difference between Base Goku and Saitama means nothing. Saitama's durability means even with Base Goku moving at his top speed, his impacts won't be enough to beat Saitama. At top speed Base Goku may be putting out Universal damage, but he's not putting out enough to actually BEAT Saitama. Only injure.
Making me rethink my "Goku wins in Base lol" claim earlier, how dare you!
Anyway, at this point, Goku would HAVE to transform to beat Saitama. His ability to sense power and Saitama's evident inability to suppress it (as evidenced by multiple characters sensing his ungodly power even while Saitama is completely relaxed) would mean Goku would know, right away, he needs to transform for the fight.
Saitama's durability means Goku would likely need Super Saiyan 2 or 3, or, more likely, SSJG. Super Saiyan God's multiplier to Granolah-arc Goku, after all of his training with Whis and Vegeta, would most likely be enough to beat Saitama. And given SSJG is enough to "most likely" beat him, then Super Saiyan Blue (aka Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, the form above SSJG) is surely enough, and Mastered Ultra Instinct (a form drastically more powerful than SSJB) is absolutely more than enough to beat Saitama.
And given Goku's mastery over the Kaioken technique, and he's been shown to enter Kaioken x 20 while in Super Saiyan Blue for fair amounts of time as of the Moro saga, meaning even if SSB wasn't enough, given MUI is overkill, it's possible SSB x10 or x20 would be.
The point being, Goku wins this fight due to a combination of technique, experience, and power from his transformations. Given Goku is faster than Saitama and would sense his power as Saitama doesn't know how to suppress it, nothing Saitama could do would be a surprise attack to Goku, meaning Goku would have ample opportunity to react to everything Saitama does.
And given the relatively similar strengths the two bear, Goku would recognize he needs to transform to beat Saitama's output.
And given Saitama's greater durability than Base Goku, and greater durability than even what Saitama himself can put out, Goku would see he needs to transform to have enough of his own output to beat Saitama's durability.
Conclusion: Goku would absolutely win this fight, BUT...I'll give Saitama credit where it's due.
Out of everyone on the entire list, Saitama is the fairest matchup here, and the one most likely to give Goku a truly satisfying fight, given it would be a battle on par with those Goku has enjoyed most.
Kingdom Hearts Mickey
K.H. Mickey has a clear power limit and ability set. He is not strong enough, fast enough, smart enough, or durable enough to beat Goku, but he is just enough of a threat for Goku to actually put his guard up, which is why K.H. Mickey would lose; Goku would see it as a fight, unlike with Kevin.
Crash Bandicoot
Crash isn't nearly powerful enough to be a threat to Goku, but he IS insane enough to push Goku to hostility. Goku would feel the need to put effort into getting him away and that is his downfall.
Hatsune Miku
Goku would assume she is a Red Ribbon android and fight her on assumption she's trying to kill him or bring harm to Earth. He would hit her full force expecting her to tank it and she would keel over dead instantly.
Wario
Everything he could possibly do, the Red Ribbon Army has tried and done better, and they've never beaten Goku. Neither would he.
Sans
Lost to a child with slightly above average human determination, and standard human strength and speed. He does not beat Goku.
And just because you specifically told me not to @ you, have this :)

Benjicot Blackwood x Bracken!wife!reader
Summary: After the Battle of the Burning Mill, the reader is relieved to see Benjicot unharmed. The same could not be said for her brother.
Warnings: War, blood, death, murder, misunderstanding, cursing, harsh talk of women
A/n: This came from some dark place in my brain😭 Also the fucking PowerPoint presentation I could make on my differences in characterization between Benjicot, Cregan & Jace. Benji is the harshest out of the three obviously, so keep that in mind when reading. He's a lot more... crude.
Large italicized sections indicate a flashback!

.............................................
"Benjicot!"
The great Lord Blackwood turned at the sound, his face lighting up at the sight of his lady wife.
He barely excused himself under his breath to the men he spoke to, briskly moving to her. He would run, but his heavy armor could never allow that.
He braced for her, catching her with ease as her chest slammed against his metal breastplate. Her arms wrapped around him, relaxation finally moving through her body now that he was alive and in her sight.
"What are you doing here?" He asked in a hushed state, holding her firmly to him. "You shouldn't have come."
"The battle is over," she murmured against his neck.
He couldn't help a small grin from coming over his face. "Only barely. There is still much to do."
She pulled away just enough to look around, taking note of the bodies that laid across the fields, cloaks both red and yellow alike. "That's why I've come. To help where I can."
He sighed and looked over her. "That's thoughtful of you."
She hummed. "You're still bloody. Did it not end yesterday?"
"It did." He looked down at his armor then back to her again. "The blood does not bother me."
"Have you not even washed yourself?" She reached up and wiped a bit of blood from his cheek.
He gently pushed away her hand. "You fret for me far too much."
"Can you blame me for doing so? Look around. In another life, one of these bodies may have been yours."
Benjicot shrugged. "But it's not."
She sighed and pulled away, taking in the sight of the bodies. "What warranted such a killing?"
Benji bit his cheek. "Border stones," he lied through his teeth. "Just the border stones."
She huffed. "Men and their land. I'll not understand them."
Benji forced himself to laugh, a guilty feeling erupting in his stomach.
…
"BRACKEN!" Benjicot screamed as he and his men neared. "Put the boundary stones back."
Aeron Bracken scoffed. "We didn't move them."
"Ah. Did they move themselves then?" He questioned. "Just rolled their way over so Bracken cows can fill their bellies on Blackwood grass?"
"The assize-"
"Fuck the assize." Benjicot stepped into Aeron's face. "And fuck you. This is our land."
Aeron grew nervous under Blackwood's glare. "T… This is Bracken land."
Benjicot's tilted his head, studying the man closely.
Having enough, Aeron turned around and began to storm off, muttering under his breath. "…babe killer-"
"What did you say?"
Aeron paused in his steps, realizing exactly what he had just done. But he was too stubborn to step down. He turned. "Your false Queen Rhaenyra is a kinslayer."
Benjicot paused. "Your uncle declared for Aegon, did he?" When Aeron said nothing, he continued, "Well then, let me tell you." He took steady steps towards the Bracken as his anger grew. "Aegon Targaryen is no true king. Just as you are no true knight."
Aeron's hands shook but his voice remained steady. "Craven. Little. Cunt."
Benjicot couldn't find it in himself to be mad at that. He even took a step back and let out a hearty laugh. "The only cunt I know of is your sister's."
Aeron growled and drew his sword, pointing it at Benjicot. "You'll watch your words, Blackwood."
The men with Benjicot all flinched, hovering their hands over the handles of their own swords. Benjicot laughed and held up his hands in mock surrender. "What? I can't speak of your sister's love for me? Dare I speak of her willingness to carry a Blackwood's heir contently? Because she would. She takes me so well-"
"-QUIET!" Aeron stepped forward.
He grinned and stepped closer, the tip of Aeron's sword only inches from his chest. "You wouldn't dare."
…
"Must have been quite a fight," she remarked as the two walked through the fields. They avoided the people who loaded a few of the dead bodies up to take them back to their families.
"Aye."
She looked up at him. "You've been awfully quiet." She reaches up and brushes his hair back.
He sighed softly, trying to hide his guilt. "Only the wears of war finally getting to me. That's all. Perhaps we should go to my tent."
She hummed and walked on. "In a bit." Her eyes scanned the field, obviously looking for something.
He had a good idea what she was looking for. Any sign of her brother. "I've grown weary, my love. As I'm sure you have." He reached out and grabbed her arm to try to stop her.
Not even looking at him, she brushed her hand across his chest before stepping further from him. "Only a moment, Benji."
He forced another sigh, keeping his nerves down. "You shouldn't be out here. Let me take you back."
"Benjicot, please."
"I'm only thinking of you, girl. C'mon."
She turned in frustration. "Just a moment."
When she began to look eerily closer to where he knew her brother lay, he rushed forward and grabbed her arm. "Darling girl, stop this now."
And she did. Her entire body froze and a soft sob wracked her body.
"A- Aeron?"
Benjicot cursed under his breath. "You shouldn't look at this."
Aeron lay in the mud next to the small creek. A sword ran through his neck, blood staining his clothes and the little grass that he lay on.
She felt as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped on her, or a knife in her heart, a tremor now in her hands.
She spun around. "Did you know about this?"
"What?"
Her eyes watered, her jaw clenched. He watched her pick at her fingers. "Did you know about this?"
Benjicot ran his tongue across his teeth.
She didn't bother to wait for a response, running to the dead man and dropping to her knees at his side. Her dress began to soak in the mix of mud, water, and blood.
The Blackwood watched with an aching heart. He swallowed hard. "Y/n…"
"No." She brushed her fingers over her brother's face, pulling the hair back. She tried to ignore how cold his skin was. "No, no."
Benji dared to take a step closer to her. He couldn't stand to only sit and watch her suffer like this. "Y/n," he tried again.
"Why?"
His voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper, "Why what?"
She sniffled. "Why couldn't you prevent this?"
Benjicot felt as if he'd been punched in the gut. His breath caught in his throat. "Do you think I wanted this?" He asked with a trembling voice. "I bled for our cause. War is unpredictable, and death has a way of finding its way into every battle."
Her fingers shook violently against her dead brother's shoulders.
He forced a sigh. "I promise you I didn't want this. But he started it."
Her hand faltered. Her head tilted to look over her shoulder at him. "What?"
Benji bit his cheek. He shouldn't have said that.
"Benjicot. What do you mean?" She asked. "Were you there when it started?"
He couldn't bring himself to speak. He tried to, but his voice was gone, the guilt beginning to eat him alive. His eyes were set on the cold body.
"W-" She followed his gaze, looking at the longsword that held her brother's body down.
Benjicot's longsword.
Her head snapped back to him, noticing that he indeed was missing his longsword from its sheath.
Her eyes slowly moved up Benjicot's entire body until she found his eyes.
"You killed my brother?"
…
Benjicot pulled his sword out of a man's body, moving on to the next one. He was covered in blood, his armor starting to irritate his skin from the constant movement. But he hardly cared about that.
His sword collided with another and he looked.
"Take it back!" Aeron growled.
Benjicot tilted his head, "Or what?"
Aeron stepped back and fixed his position. He looked terrified, but he refused to let it show. "Or I'll gut you. And I'll take my sister back."
"She's a Blackwood," Benji grunted.
"She'll never be," the Bracken rebutted.
Benjicot's anger grew, pushing him to make the first real attack. He swung his sword with accuracy and precision, intent on doing anything to injure his opponent.
Aeron was quick, but he wasn't as accurate. While his dodges were good, he was only defense.
So when he finally lifted up his sword to swing it in offense, Benjicot lifted his foot and kicked the Bracken firmly in the chest.
Aeron lost his footing, falling backwards and rolling. He panicked at the cold feeling of the water that stood only inches from him. He groaned and tried to get up, but Benji was quick to keep him down.
The Bracken reached out blindly across the ground, trying to find the handle of his dagger that had fallen from his belt. It was somewhere around here.
There it was.
Benjicot caught his actions at the last second, pulling himself away before Aeron could cut him.
Aeron growled and sat up, getting up as fast as he could.
But the Blackwood knocked the dagger from his hand and tackled him back into the dirt, now straddling him. He bent down to spit in his face.
Aeron grunted and flinched. He tried to fight against Benjicot, but the darker haired man was beginning to lose his patience entirely. He grabbed Aeron's armor at his shoulders, picking up the boy's torso and slamming it into the ground again.
"I hope you're right," Aeron wheezed out.
Benjicot snarled. "What?"
"I said," Aeron said as he spit up blood from a tooth lost earlier. "I hope you're right."
Benji shook his head, "I don't care for final words and monologues."
"Then know this, Blackwood. I hope she does carry your heir. I hope you fill her with your seed over and over and over again." He laughed cruelly, looking up at the sky. "I hope the future of your house depends on a Bracken womb."
Benjicot slammed the man again. "Shut up."
Aeron looked him in the eyes now, using the last of his strength to get in his face. "I hope House Blackwood is forever tainted by the cunt of a Bracken. Your children will be Brackens."
"I said shut up!"
Bracken spit in Benji's face. "Fuck her well. I hope they look Just. Like. Me."
Benjicot felt something in him snap. His eyes glazed over.
He stood and stared down at the man with no mercy. Benjicot pressed the tip of his longsword to the neck of his enemy.
"I hope that you're lost to time, Aeron Bracken."
…
Benjicot felt his heart break and splinter at the sound of her voice. His own was a whisper, "please, listen to me." He took a slow step toward her.
"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" She screamed. She began to sob violently as she threw herself over Aeron's body, grief truly hitting her like a wall.
He staggered back in shock. His jaw clenched, the urge to gather her in his arms and make her see the truth becoming overwhelming. "Listen to me," he repeated.
"We were s-supposed to be the treaty," she muttered against Aeron's chest.
"W… What? What was that?" Benji asked.
She sat up. "You and I. We were supposed to be the treaty. The thing that could have prevented this. And we weren't. Divorce me or kill me, but please. Please. Don't torture me like this."
He was beginning to lose his patience again. "Dear girl, you must listen to me. You must."
She shook her head. "I won't."
"Y/n," he grunted and stepped to her.
"NO!" She held a hand up, as if the young woman could stop the force that was Benjicot Blackwood. "Don't touch him!"
He held his hands up, forcing himself to calm down. "I won't. I just want to speak to you."
"You've done enough, Benjicot."
"I know. I know what I've done is cruel to you, but you have to let me explain myself."
"Leave, Benjicot."
He huffed. "I won't. You're going to listen."
She pushed herself up onto her knees. "Leave," she spoke through clenched teeth.
"What?" He asked in anger. "You're not going to return to Raventree Hall with me?"
"Not by will."
"You can't be serious. You'd rather abandon our marriage, our home, then return with me?"
She wiped at her cheek, unknowingly smearing dirt and blood across her face. "My home was with Aeron. M-My brother is dead. I have nothing."
He took a cautious step toward her. "You have me," he muttered, the words like a vow.
"You never wanted me."
Benjicot's arms fell to his sides, feeling utterly defeated.
The man was a valiant fighter, a formidable warrior, and four words from his wife made him feel utterly hopeless.
He looked out over the field, debating what to even say. His voice broke, "You know that's not true."
"You killed my brother. If you love me- if you ever loved me, you wouldn't have done this."
"It's not that easy."
"It is!" She stood up. "It is that easy! All of this," she gestured around, "Over the fucking boundary stones?"
"OVER YOU!" He yelled. "He dared to speak ill of you and you know I'll not have that!"
She felt a shiver move down her spine slowly. She looked over to Aeron's body. "Did he?"
"Darling," Benjicot tried to speak reasonably once again, "I am a dangerous man. It feels as if I fall asleep in battle and wake up covered in another's blood. I am no saint, and I refuse to pretend I am. But listen when I tell you that I am no liar." He sighed. "If he had let it go, perhaps he would still be breathing. But if defending your honor makes you hate me then perhaps it is worth it for I know I did what was right."
She was quiet for a long time, staring at the water. "Do you believe the old stories?"
His brows furrowed. "I'm not understanding you."
She looked up to him. "The weirwood tree. Do you believe that the Brackens poisoned it all those generations ago?"
Benjicot shuffles his feet, not sure what to answer. "I-I couldn't say for certain."
"And yet you still wear it on your chest with pride? Something you don't even know for certain?"
He looked down at his family crest and back to her. "It's a part of who I am. I can't change that."
She tilted her head. "Then don't expect me to either. You can love me or hate me, Benjicot Blackwood, but I am a Bracken no matter which way you twist your story. I cannot change my blood."
"Where are you going with this exactly, beautiful?"
She took a step towards him. "If you kill all of the Brackens in the world, it'll only lead you back to your own house. You shouldn't have married a Bra-"
"-Shut up," he ordered.
She looked up in shock. "What?"
"I don't care what you are. I don't care if you're a Targaryen or a fucking toad. I do not care. You are mine, as I am yours." His eyes glazed over with a new emotion. "The rest of the world could rot for all I care."
She watched him take slow, deliberate steps to her until the gap was completely closed. He leaned in, his lips almost brushing hers. "I am addicted to you. I always have been."
She took in a shaky breath, her heart pounded in her chest. Only Benjicot had ever made her feel so alive. "I-I'm in love with you."
He paused, his eyes trying to read an emotion from hers.
They had never said such a thing to each other. This was supposed to be a marriage for alliance purposes. There wasn't supposed to be love. There wasn't-
He couldn't stop himself, connecting their lips roughly with a low groan.
He could faintly taste dirt on her bottom lip, but he paid no heed, pulling her closer to feel her body against his. "Have you ever felt this before?" He whispered against her. "Utter devotion?"
She let out a whine.
He kissed her again. "Fuck the weirwood tree. I'll worship you until the end of my days."
She tugged at his hair, making him growl with lust. He gripped her jaw easily with one hand, holding her firmly. He was never a cruel lover, but he was a firm one.
"Tell me what he said," she managed to pant out.
"No," he hummed, beginning to kiss down her neck. His hand pushed her head back to expose more of her skin to him.
In the unyielding hands of the infamous Bloody Ben, she'd never felt safer.
"I'll bury him for you." Was all the more that Benjicot said about it.
"Hard to jump your bones in all that armor," she whispered in his ear.
"Fuck," He groaned. "Careful, Braken," he teased.
She pulled away and he instantly began to feel regret for his jest.
Her brows furrowed as she stared up at him. "Fuck you, Blackwood."
"Darling-"
Her lips pulled into a small smile and she began to laugh.
"Don't fucking do that again," he exclaimed, grabbing her jaw again roughly.
"You fell right into my hands, Blackwood," she continued. "The great Lord Benjicot, so gullible."
He pushed a smile down. "You're a cruel goddess."
"I don't think you mind."
He pulled her face to him, placing a heavy kiss to her lips. "You're right."
"Trust me, my lord, you'll be rewarded for your devotion."
His brows quirked up. "Will I?"
Her eyes flicked to his lips and back up to his eyes. "I can be benevolent when I want to be."
He groaned. "I'll worship you forever."
…
Only a year later, Benjicot held his newborn child to his chest, caressing the young boy.
The babe's eyes opened, revealing dark brown pupils.
Y/n cooed, "He looks just like his father."
Benjicot let out a breath he didn't know he was keeping.
Aeron Bracken was wrong.
Seems even genetically, Blackwoods were the dominant house.

tw kidnapping, noncon, double penetration, slight body horror, virgin! choso
mahito doesn't like a lot of things, but for some reason he liked you. little, defenseless you. he was honestly shocked when he realized you could actual see him instead of just being an invisible gnat flying around you.
how cute you looked when you bumped into him, he had to have you. with no way to say no, mahito picked you up and brought you to where the other cursed spirits lived.
geto simply ignored him, used to his antics, but choso was oddly curious.
"who's that?" the usually reserved man asked.
mahito pulled you closer to him and squished your cheeks between his fingers despite your insistent squirming. "i brought a new toy."
you whimpered at the implicants of what he meant. with how he forced his already hard cock against your butt, you knew you weren't getting out of this unharmed.
the stitched curse picked up on choso's curiosity instantly. whenever mahito dragged in a different humans, choso usually followed geto's example and ignore him. he couldn't blame choso, you sure were pretty for a human.
"hey choso, why don't you join me. humans are so much fun when they are squirming from pleasure."
choso choked on his own spit, not knowing how to respond. his violet eyes stayed lock on your pitiful form. tears had already bubbled over and painted your puffy cheeks. mahito blatantly groped you over you clothes. grabby hands fondling one of your breasts and your hands tried to pried him away, but he was too strong for you.
off in his own little world, mahito pulled you away from choso and called over his shoulder, "suit yourself."
snapping out of it, choso quickly followed mahito to wherever he was taking you. it wasn't like he wanted to know what a naked girl looked like. no he definitely didn't care about that, he just wanted to make sure mahito didn't go too far.
on a raggedy couch, mahito sat you on his lap and impatiently ripped your shirt from your body along with your bra. choso stared at how your breasts bounced from the rough motion. your nipples pebbled from the cold air.
mahito shoved a hand down your pants and found your slit. you gasped at how he swirled your clit, pinched it between his rough fingers.
"don't just stand there. help me take off her clothes," mahito called from over your shoulder.
you sobbed hard. he licked from your chin up your cheek to drink up your delicious tears. from his slimy tongue, you flinched away in disgust.
"your repulsed face only turns me on more," mahito giggled into your ear and rutted up into you.
pulled from his stupor, choso stood above you and delicately released you from your shirt and bra with some struggle. throwing it somewhere into the room, choso then went your pants. ignoring how mahito still hand his hand down the garment, he unbuttoned and unzipped you free.
"w-wait, please!" you begged.
the half curse glanced at you with with tented brows. he didn't want to harm you, but he couldn't deny how his cock strained in his loose pants. so he pulled down your pants and panties, and watched as mahito continued to twiddle your bundle of nerves.
"which hole do you want?" mahito asked choso.
"huh?" choso looked at him, confused.
mahito cackled. "forgot you were virgin. you want her pussy or ass?"
"um, p-pussy?"
mahito hummed, "good choice, i did want to see how far i can stretch her out."
that made you kick up a fuss. you didn't want him anywhere near back there. he was going to break you if he did. plus you had no clue if you could take both at the same time. what did you get yourself into?
pulling his own pants down, mahito pressed a hand on your back so you were bent over, your ass on display. wasting no time, he tapped his cockhead against the tight, untouched hole.
"wait!" you screeched.
laughing at your misery, mahito tugged you back and forced his way into the rim of muscles. your vision went black as he went in with no lube or prep. your chest stuttered from your heaving breaths. he brought your chest to his chest and then tucked his hands under your knees to bring them to your chest. warmth filled your face as your cunt was put on display for the other man in the room.
mahito stood up with you still in his grasp. from the angle he went deep into you. he moaned into your ear as you clamped down on him.
"there, you can fuck her now too."
gulping, choso walked to where mahito bucked his hips into your ass. your cunt clenched around nothing and some slick dripped down to accommodate mahito splitting you open. taking his own cock out from his robes, he followed what he saw mahito do. his cock brushed against your clit until he brought it further down to catch your hole.
nervously, he pushed into you. your breath hitched as he bullied his way inside until the hilt. you were thoroughly filled to the brim. they were both too big.
choso moaned as mahito's thrust caused you to be fucked on his dick. grabbing your hips, choso sloppily pistoned into you. your hands scrambled to grab onto something and deciding on mahito's tensed forearms.
both men used you as nothing more than a fleshlight to chase their own pleasure. inside you, you felt mahito shift inside until his own cock became more ribbed. you whimpered in confusion.
"doesn't it feel nice?" he said in your ear before shoving his tongue inside. you winced and tried to hide your ear from him, but he only laughed. "you're so easy to tease. maybe i'll keep you."
when you clenched down from the scare, choso fucked harder into you. with a few more uncoordinated thrusts, he came deep in you. you cried at the warmth seeping into your gummy walls.
"not fair, i wanted to go first," mahito pouted.
when choso finally pulled from you, the other curse used the cum dripping down to thrust faster into you faster.
"hey, make yourself useful and play with her clit. i want to feel her cum on me."
"her... what?" choso asked, fascinated with his cum drooling from your used cunt.
"the little thing above her hole. touch it."
nodding, choso followed his instructions and shyly dragged a finger up to brush against your clit. when you moaned he took it as him touching the right spot. remembering what mahito did earlier, choso swirled your clit with two fingers to the rhythm of mahito's thrusts.
at the pleasure, you squirmed to get away from it but choso didn't stop. he liked as your own slick dribbled out. human women are fascinating.
when he experimented and pinched the puffy nerves, you came against your will. mahito soon came with you. shoving his cock all the way in past the limits, he made sure your ass swallowed all of his cum.
unable to do anything, you sagged against the curse and let your mind go blank.
still thrusting into you despite already cumming, mahito's cock grew bigger. nuzzling into your neck, he giggled, "yeah, you're definitely going to be my new favorite toy."
