okay. it REALLY depends because sometimes my thumbnails look like this:

so sometimes if the expression or body language is super important i'll put in a little more detail for my thumbnails to remind myself what i was thinking about when i was conceptualizing the page.

so i guess it's not necessarily accurate to say that i don't sketch as much as it is that my sketches are.................. not particularly legible and i go straight from this to lining. i have one panel on the next page that looks like this

if id left this for four months and come back to it i would not know what it meant hahahahahaa

I fundamentally disagree with Thomas Jefferson and Mark Twain. "Never use two words when one will do," "don't use a five-dollar word when a fifty-cent word will do," I'm going to turn a single sentence into an essay and it's going to cost five hundred dollars per word because those are the right words to get across what I mean without ambiguity and misunderstanding, thankyouverymuch

my vet said that behind the scenes the clinic had talked about how they were happy that I was the first client of theirs to use senvelgo, because the first couple weeks on it are a bit complicated and I’m “very compliant”.

Been chipping away at this in my free time - sort of a redo of a comm I did a while back. I haven't been satisfied with most of my art for almost two years straight and never felt I quite did the character design justice, so I wanted to redraw her to test out style stuff and also as a sort of thank-you to the commissioner, because another comm I did for them has been really helpful for rebuilding a following after ditching twitter. I think I'm pretty happy with the result, plus I actually enjoyed the process too which I've also been struggling with ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I haven't heard back from the previous client the character belongs to, but I hope they see it someday and it's maybe a fun little surprise for them :')

Finally getting round to posting some of the commissions I worked on last month! Working on full color pieces like this again was so refreshing ✨ This was from quite a big batch of comms, but this year I’m likely going to be opening up one or two slots a month as-and-when I have the time to do so, so you can follow my Vgen page to be alerted when slots open! client: "he eats yams."

vet: "... yams?"

client: "yeah, yams."

vet: "just yams? nothing else?"

client: "yeah."

vet: "the only food that you feed your dog is yams? no supplements?"

client:" "just yams."

vet: *increasingly distressed* "you cannot feed your dog only yams, ok? you NEED to feed something else. that is a very unbalanced diet and could be what's making him sick."

client: "well what should i be feeding?"

vet: "dog food! kibble, canned, anything from a pet store!"

client: "but that's where i buy the yams!"

vet: "what?"

client: "you mean i have to feed a bunch of different brands??"

vet: "what?"

(it was discovered, much to the vet's relief, that the client was mispronouncing the brand name "Iams")

I'm playing turnabout sisters myself for the first time. I make sure to click on everything you can examine and oh my god the amount of characterization for Mia Fey just from examining her office makes me cryyy

Mia Fey who names her plants. Mia Fey who has a framed poster of her favorite movie in her office. Mia Fey who has very neat handwriting. Mia Fey who is terrible with technology. Mia Fey who bought an old ass computer which she only ever uses when sending emails. Mia Fey who owns many many law books that she has read back to back multiple times. Mia Fey who spends more money on the furniture her clients use than the ones she uses.
