genuine question – and i hope it doesn't come as weird – but how do get into...pokemon? </3

pokemon universe feels so big and there are so many games and i really like their designs – both for pokemons and trainers – making ocs in this setting would be so cool but i have no idea how to. begin!

no worries!! it seriously depends on what you are interested in - gamewise, region wise, and story wise.

heres what i can say. if you like typical top-down style pixel art rpg games where you solve tile puzzles and build a little team of monsters, any of the games before x and y is a good choice. platinum is a great introduction to the series because it doesn't baby you but is still decently difficult, heartgold/soulsilver are the 'coziest' games imo but may spoil you because of how much content there is, black/white and black/white 2 are the most story-driven of the games and bw2 is probably the longest play of all the games. emerald is also great, but its genuinely a hard game even as someone whos been a fan of the series for years. i would say to start with hgss because they're my favorites, but they're so good it might raise the bar too high for all the other games pixel-art games.

if you prefer 3D graphics, but still like the 'run around catching guys and solving tile puzzles', i think sun and moon are the best of the 3D games! the story is engaging and a little more modernized so that there are actual cut scenes, i think the pokemon available are cute and the region is really pretty. i thikn after that, x and y is pretty cute! the story is less strong in comparison to sun/moon. importantly; every game in the 3D era has a new type that was not present in the pixel art era - the fairy type, so if you want to learn the MODERN type chart and balances, the 3D games are where you'd need to start.

finally, if you're not a fan of the 'catch pokemon run around region' type games, pokemon has a LOT of really awesome spin off games. my favorites are as follows...

pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky. its the strongest story the pokemon company has ever written, and im a big fan of the mystery dungeon style gameplay.

pokemon ranger (any ranger game!) the story and graphics are cute, and it focuses on rescuing/rehabilitating pokemon more than capturing them. really lovely expansion of the pokemon universe.

pokemon go, because its free! so if you dont want to download a rom, or sink money into a new franchise, its an easy way to get into it.

pokemon snap - this was actually my very first pokemon game i ever played! (never owned it though heha) but there was just a remake for the switch, if you've got a switch that is. the game focuses on photographing pokemon in their natural habitat, and its really quite cute. slow paced and fun if you're not sure about battling yet.

finally... if you weren't looking to get into games at all, pokemon art + fan creations are personally my favorite things in the entire fandom! artists and writers and fangame devs are the people who hold this fandom up, engaging with their creations is a great and typically free way to involve yourself... im sorry this is so long, i hope this helps!! and ppl are free to add on to this hehe

Ooh your ocs and lore/worldbuilding are so interesting! The whole ghost possesion thing is quite interesting cause the fact that ppl know about this gives the implication that this is just something that happens sometimes (?) and that supernatural stuff is widely known. Like oooh that is such an interesting world, like how do ppl deal with that? Are there doctors that deal with ghost possesions? lol

yea its bc it is! the story is set in a world haunted by so called "fears" - negative energies manifested, ranging from nightmares to evil ghosts and spirits and fears and phobias manifested. shortly after the outbreak of this paranormal parasite (which claimed thousands of ppl), ppl banded together to fight back against "fears" and at some point an organization ("amygdala") was born that focuses solely on the exorcism or annihilation of the fears. those ppl dealing with them are called fear seekers or just seekers; seeking those who hide in the dark to strike

they use a specific "tool" that makes it possible for them to see the unseen and summon a fear they contract themselves to - these tools are lit the plucked out eye of the fear (using it comes with either handy or negative side effects, i can explain that all in another post maybe?)

anyway yep! its eventually brought up but its not like its a huge reveal since its evident. saran actually took vikas eye but gave one of his instead, making it possible for vika to use sarans powers but also to give him the ability to "see (experience) others emotions" as if its his own via eye contact. like this he also learns to identify his own and express himself better

also glad you noticed!!!! they are! sarans pupils are basically "soul snatching" mouths; looking into his eyes gets your life drained so he always has them closed - his others are constantly open tho. hes always watching. hes always seeing everything

Match made in hell between these two autistic men. I havent described my ocs in so long idk how to talk about them. They both live isn th US but Shibasaki moved in from Scotland (his father was Japanese but hes never been to japan). They work at the same university (i refuse to do any more research into archivists for these splat fetish comix) Paxton is an archivist and Shibasaki is maintenance, however stuff around where enoch works tends to fuck up a lot.

Ive had these ocs among a few others since i was 14, so they’re both ten. both originally live in a horrifying curse world set in 1932 that i wont get into because its convoluted.

In this modern day au tho they enjoy the same stuff but like 100 years apart.

Enoch is sort of a neurotic type who comes off meaner than he is, he has a sarcastic lilt to his speech. Hes helpful but it comes off as brusk and rude like he has to help you because hes bothered which isnt usually the case. Helpful in a pushy way. He likes miniatures and models and tiny things you have to be careful when building. His interests lie in victorian era science and medical practice, but he also enjoys normal tv and animated movies. He’s very careful with his body, food and stimuli wise, mostly because his underlying anxiety has convinced him “if i hiccup at work everyone will know that i get hard and im some devious freak pervert” which has taken a hard left into nobody else can hiccup at my job so hes the man with the vinegar in his locker and he seems more insane than anything. However he doesnt take care of his immune system in the slightest. This is a man who will come to work dying of influenza, dont worry he masks up and cleans his hands. He isnt inconsiderate of anyone else.

Cailean is a more laid back individual despite suffering some pretty intense trauma and anxiety of his own. Hes very much a people please who doesnt want anyone to worry about him or even pay attention to him. Hes sort of a glass child but he doesnt think that way about himself, its normal to give everything of yourself away and not really worry about it because youre so strong! Hes so strong dont worry about it. He enjoys cooking and arts and crafts, hes sort of a sculptor when he has the time. He likes reading books about fantasy and love and mushy stuff. He loves a good hurt/comfort book which feeds into his underlying sneeze and sick fetish. He would love to take care of another person if they were ill but hes also enjoy making love to an ill person if they were up for it. Cailean himself isnt very careful with his body but his body isnt careful with him so it tracks. Hes very hiccup prone but it only really bothers him in public where it adds attention to him.

They both have younger sisters. Cailean took care of his until she passed away which is when he moved. Enoch’s sister is just a weird lesbian who believes in ghosts she takes the piss out of enoch so he doesnt take himself too seriously.

I know im not the best writer but i love my sons so much theyre my favourite ever. If none of this is readable thats ok too just look at the pictures.

ok ive been thinking about valentin a lot lately so im just going to infodump what i have right now.

first i should say. i dont plan on giving the guy trauma. i know its a whole thing with ocs and that they always have trauma, but i really dont want to do that with valentin. and i have a reason for this. the whole reason i want stan to have a boyfriend like this in the first place is because he deserves to have some kind of stable figure in his life. someone who can comfort him and be understanding of him without their own issues also weighing down on them. valentin is in a place where he is able to be that kind of person for stan. and thats because hes mentally stable enough to do that. okay now for the actually entertaining stuff. valentin is a very gentle and nice guy despite how big and scary he is (and the fact he kills people..) and is friendly with pretty much everyone in town like stan is.

hes very big into parkour and stuff. before he moved to gravity falls it was more urban parkour, scaling buildings and such, and afterwards he got really interested in exploring the forest and climbing the trees. he sees it like a giant playground. its very fun.

him being into parkour is actually what led to him becoming a hitman. i couldn't for the life of me tell you how exactly he ended up with that job, but it made a decent living and he didn't mind it much. but whatever

he has a few piercings. he has pierced ears (which was in the concept art) and ive decided he can also have snakebites and a nose piercing too, why the hell not. he probably has a few tattoos too, but i havent put enough thought into those yet.

speaking of snakebites. he loves snakes. i think everyone deserves a favorite animal and his is snakes. stan is inexplicably terrified of snakes so whenever theres one in the shack or on the porch then valentin is the one to take care of it.

also. remember how i said "dont ask this guy where he was in the mid 80's" on the concept art? well since youre here i might as well give some clarification to that. there were like. "parties" for bears in the 80's in california. he was over there. for completely unrelated reasons. dont worry about it. dipper was one thousand percent convinced valentin was a werewolf when him and mabel first got to the shack. sure, he was really nice to them, but what if it was all a ploy so he could eat them or whatever werewolves do?? plus, he was always running off into the forest to "work out". it was suspicious.. and then he realized valentin was just really active and liked nature. boring.

mabel loovves doing valentin's hair. its so long, the possibilities are endless!! lots of times he ends up just being a model for her, doing different hairstyles or wearing different accessories. its very sweet and wholesome and cool.

soos basically has two dads now. valentin is always there to teach him stuff and give advice. compared to stan he's the voice of reason most of the time. they're very close.

dont think i forgot about wendy! he's close with wendy too! she taught him how to use axes to climb trees more efficiently and other methods of navigating the forest. he taught her how to fire guns. it's great.

and now the best for last. stan.

valentin met stan after moving to gravity falls in order to be more secluded and less likely to be hunted down by cops. this was about 7 years after stan got there, so he was already pretty settled in. they met in greasy's diner and talked for a while, hitting it off. they kept meeting there for lunch and sometimes breakfast, and after a while they grew closer and hung out more often. blah blah blah they start dating its all great. cool!

fun fact. they're unofficially married. they can't legally get married since it was like. the 90's when they started dating and even then the timeline goes up until 2012 where same sex marriage still wasn't legal. but they said "hey even if we can't sign the paperwork (which would be a headache anyways) we can still wear matching rings and live together and basically be husbands but socially instead of legally." and so they're. basically married.

i said in the concept art that valentin is kinda housewife like? yeah. he takes care of the house and stuff while stan goes out and works, and really just. likes baking. it seems out of place considering everything else but he just likes it.

when stan finishes his work day, its immediately to valentin for emotional support and cuddles. theres nothing more relaxing than just sitting back and letting val hold him close. maybe talk about how their days went. domestic bliss and all that.

shockingly valentin is very bad at flirting. but not in the way you're probably thinking. stan will say something like "damn baby youre body is soo beautiful. all of that working out is really paying off huh." and then valentin will reply like "well i think your eyes are pretty and your silver hair brings out the way they shine when you're happy" like how the hell is stan supposed to reply to that. valentin is so stupid /aff

also stan gets flustered very easily around him. no matter how badass you think he looks with his brass knuckles ready to fight, he looks like a pathetic wet cat next to valentin.

ive also had a lot of thoughts about him and ford interacting, but im gonna put that in another post because this alone is already over 900 words and thats too much. so uh. yeahh. hope you like him.

hi! just wanted to pop in and day some things about the chapter. before that, about the oc situation, it made pretty angry on behalf of you. cause what?? you are not even first nor the last person using that name during fiction and not. personalities are always different as well because if someone with a different writing style writes it, it is naturally someone else (yeah, look at all those ooc fictional characters!!) not good with comfort words, but i am sure you know your and your oc worth. i love him!!

i think anaxa is pretty underrated in the fandom. i love that there are people who chose to write him, but more than that, i LOVE how you portray him. we don't know much about him yet, but his character here seems accurate!!

Regarding your statement on shipping/simping for your characters: How do you feel about other fan content besides fan-art? Ex. fanfiction, cosplay, edits, creating headcanons, kinning, and other fan labour such as that?

generally I think as long as people stay Normal about it then I'm fine with most of that stuff! and by normal I mean "they aren't making stuff with my ocs thats overly suggestive/straight up NSFW" like I mentioned with the simping thing, I've seen how some of yall talk about wanting the madness boys and I do NOT wanna hear that about my ocs lol. and also like, yanno, I've seen people get weirdly possessive over the ocs of artists they like and get mad if the artist does something with them that they personally dont like or "didn't fit their headcanon about [artists oc]" and, yk, nobody do that and were good!

To be specific though:

Fanfiction: I think that would be cool! However I would like to ask that I be able to proofread it before its posted anywhere if thats possible. Not cause I'm worried about someone mischaracterizing my ocs or something about the work itself being of low quality, I dont care about that, I just wanna make sure whatever going on in the fic isn't weird. Cause there was this one time I recieved a fanart comic from someone that had a. strange premise that, now knowing what I know now about them, looking back on it im like Damn! moving on, i believe neon has talked a lot about misses in general, however misha on her own is mostly my realm (of course, shes my character...) so i will give you general information about her, haha! dont worry, she has some relation to raena (whose information has almost been exhausted), so i will touch on him eventually.

misha kiselyov is the owner of a clothing brand within novaturient. her company is surprisingly not that predatory (at least for novaturient standards), yet not completely absolved from flaws and things of the such. aside from that, she does participate in the creation of clothing, and shes quite a prodigy in fashion design. in her free time, she does on-request tailoring of the highest quality!

she met ulysses through a one-time date, and they did decide that a relationship was just, Not For Them, but continued talking to eachother. kind of as a rebound, and also because...

well. misha's husband was killed in the war! (his name was elpenor!) he kind of fell and died because he was drunk. whoops. but misha's son received the letter of his death, and misha wished to take revenge on ulysses after the death of her son, ilia kiselyov. (he died during a magical girl duel, unrelated to the war)

this is why she has a weird situationship with her. to make things short, she kept talking and asking for favors of him and essentially maintaining a 'relationship' with him to eventually enact her plan. this didnt work. she fell for him.

why favors, you ask? well, misha did eventually remarry. she married miss aracea! an inquisitor that did really fucked up shit with her husband in the denizen district!

and ulysses told her about this before they got married. what a nice guy! misha did take this at face value, since he wasnt lying, but didnt really hold affection for miss aracea anymore. its okay, because miss aracea's daughter, mikhailis aracea, kind of went crazy and killed her parents! not misha. she loves misha.

misha used ulysses to get contacts to other corpheads and get the best opportunities for her daughter, whom she proceded to adopt after the death of both araceas.

however, she isn't an only child. her brother is none other than raena mondlicht iuris! due to his parents' history as inquisitors, he decided to fully distance himself from his family, and that included poor mikhailis. mikhailis really loves her brother, though, even if hes painfully neutral about her.

as it stands, misha really does care and love for ulysses. its... a bit painful for her, actually. she feels like shes betraying her diseased fiance, but at the same time, she really couldnt help it. its destined to fail, though. misha is no penelope, and nothing will change that. but she also loves toying and messing with him. it did get her injured a few times (we dont talk about the twice-happening roleplay cannibalism incident. we do, actually.) but shes a strong woman!

I actually have 2 groups!!! One of them is called SILamENT_ and the other is called ChromaChronicles

ChromaChronicles is a group I share with my friend @starbiistruck on instagram!!! :3 The redhead Ryoichi Yoshino and Mion Nakabayashi are from this group! They’re fairly new characters and we haven’t gotten the chance to work on them much yet, but the idea is that they play shows with stories behind them, kind of like musicals but instead of it being like one story per show, ALL their shows and music are connected to some story? With characters and stuff. 2 of them sing as narrators while the other 2 sing as characters.

Their sekai is like an 80s mall,,, and the genre of music they focus is synthpop/new wave!!

SILamENT_ is a bit more developed as I’ve had them for longer! The group consists of Eihi Mizano (red-black hair), Machi Mizano (light grey-red/grey streaks), Michika Neji (Blue), and the unit leader, Yuika Fujita!!(purple)

Eihi and Machi are twin siblings and go to Miyamasuzaka as second years! The other two go to Kamiyama. Yuika is a first year while Michika is a second year!

Eihi, Machi and Michika knew each other as kids, because they all used to attend ballet classes together! Unfortunately after a while, Michika decides that she no longer has fun doing ballet and it’s becoming too stressful for her, and stops coming.

While this is happening, Eihi gets scouted to be a model, and after a while she finds it hard to attend to everything and also drops the lesson.

Machi attends by herself for a while before also dropping it as she’s left all by herself now.

I think they keep in touch,, but they’re definitely more distant after they stop seeing each other frequently.

Yuika transfers to Kamiyama a little late than the beginning of the school year!

Yuika composes music and also wants to make short films !

She has a run in with Michika, they end up talking about their interests n stuff and Michika offers to help Yuika make a movie!!

Michika now makes,, scrapbooks and cool journals to set the vibes for their movies I think.. But yeah, she mostly wants to help with the direction but not act herself at this point. So they’re kind of stuck with no actors.

A lot of details r actually rlly fuzzy bc I barely work on these guys n im actually making up some stuff as I go… Michika sees SOMETHING with Eihi on it, as she’s still working as a model right now. And is like, hey. We used to be friends (we still are?? Kind of. I think) I’ll call her (Machi too) up n see what she thinks about helping with the movie.

Turns out, Eihi doesn’t really want to do modeling all that much from the beginning. But got pressured too much from people all around her who were “worried about her future” and decided to stick with it because she understood that sometimes in these industries you had to take the option that works, even if its not what you want truly.

Anyways, these all meet up n they discuss how the movie will be. Yuika actually doesn’t want to make movies with dialogue! Just movement and music. (So I don’t think they actually sing too much in in-universe content they produce, but I do still have voice hcs for them all obv.)

Anyways machi also,, I think she’s kind of shut in now bc she feels betrayed by her sister? They grew up doing everything together and one day she just starts doing her own thing n now they barely see each other or do anything together. N she resorts to some kinda I dont need you anyway🙄🙄 mentality to get over it but she is kind of sad about it inside😞

So the whole making movies together yippee thing gets her an opportunity to do something with her sister again like in the good old days so shes . happy (tho she tries to hide it)

yuikas just happy she found people who are willing to help make her passions reality!

and michika is happy her friends r reconnected after a few years of very awkward,, are we still friends or was it just a casual-we only spoke bc we existed at the same place at the same time and now that we dont we aren’t friends anymore- kind of thing.

Their sekai is a kind of minimalist modern art museum !!! And the main genre of music they make is,,, idk what to call it tbh? It’s atmospheric.. but its also inspired by those beep bops that u get from hooking plants to those machines that convert the waves into sounds ???? this is definitely not the right terminology for it but my main interest is maths n physics idk this stuff much

i have a very makeshift not SUPER accurate but accurate enough spotify playlist for them..

i havent designed any virtual singers yet…

other small things i can add are,,,

yuika is casual with Michika but speaks more formally with the twins in the beginning (which gets confusing sometimes bc they have the same surname obviously) after a while she does start using their names to save everyone the confusion.

yuika also looks up to the twins ! But is a bit more intimidated by Machi at first, but they end up becoming close friends!!

Machi skates! Skateboard and rollerskates i think! After yuika and her become closer, yuika helps her record cool videos of herself doing tricks LMAOO

Machi hangs out in vivid street a lot also! Because Yuika moved from outside the city, it’s likely Machi introduces Yuika to vivid street.

i dont know if ive ever written anything angsty tbh?? thats not really my favorite thing because it makes me too sad. out of my published fanfics probably the fic about bob's mom wins by default and out of my unpublished wips uhh maybe my louise and tina focused fanfic. it has a happy ending (maybe) but its a real downer at times. or maybe my tinimmy fic is bittersweet depending on how you read it

no!!! actually a secret about me in that my almost 10 years posting art fanfics etc online i have never gotten a single negative comment on anything ive made. i feel very lucky :)

never have and never will (nothing wrong with it in most contexts but im asexual and smut is extremely Not My Thing. i actually tried writing a smut fic once to challenge myself a few years ago and spent like 1000 words describing the way the candles were lit in their bedroom before i realized its simply not for me and thats fine)

i have like over 30+ wips so thats probably a lot of them FJDMDMSJSKS something i would love to finish at some point but probably never will is a fanfic about how bob and linda overcame the cycle of abuse with their own childhood memories vs how they are with their kids. maybe i could write that with somebody else and we each do like a chapter at a time (they write linda's memories and i write bob's etc)

16. What are your writing strengths?

people always tell me that im really good at capturing character's voices and personalities and making them feel in character?? i always want my stories to feel like something that could actually happen in-universe and make it make sense with the characters etc. i think part of this comes from working w/ my own ocs and thinking so hard about how different people express and communicate things and then applying that to other characters is easy. and bcuz of how my autism works i can memorize how a person or character constructs sentences and create new sentences inside my head in their voice :D i really pay attention to peoples speaking patterns & how they phrase things

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

probably how perfectionist i am about grammar and using certain words phrases punctuation etc that it takes FOREVER to get anything done. i also think im too wordy. i can turn a fifteen word sentence into a fifty word sentence easily which is great for essays but kinda annoying when you're reading a silly bobs burgers fanfic

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

i dont mind doing it for my ocs but to my knowledge none of the bob's burgers characters speak another language as their native language?? so i cant see it coming up in anything i write

Wanted to ask about her personality so I get her right when I write her! (For the LQG x JC adopting a daughter prompt uwu - have heard about that ship and I ADORE it)

OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THIS- im sorry my school is cramming a lot of events this week so i havent checked tumblr since last month 😭😭 ____________________________________________________________ anyways, Hua Taiyang (does she ahve hte same last name as hua cheng? yes. was it intentional? no, i forgot that hua cheng existed when i made her name on the fly-) can be any age you choose, but right now i'll explain her 13 yr old self

appearance first: has doe yellow eyes with a tan-ish skin color. she also has black hair with white streaks, along with vitiligo on her skin as well (vitiligo exists yes, but actually having white hair at a young age is possible as well!! if you didnt get enough nutrients required for hair color as an infant in the womb, it is possible to have some white streaks in your hair at a young age!!)

so as interesting and unique her appearance is, she does get quite a bit of hate for it, but she's like so out of loop of things she doesnt hear gossip about her until like two months later 😭🙏

now personality!! : unlike LQG and JC, she's actually a social butterfly, and has so many friends in a lot of different sects and places of all ages- though she has a resting bitch face so she comes off as introverted or unapproachable like her parents- and if she's meeting you for the first time, she will be more polite and less energetic until shes more used to you. but otherwise, she actually has a very lovely smile and is extremely sweet or funny, endearing her to a lot of people (which makes a lot wonder how JC and LQG find such a socially capable child).

she has a lot of friend groups, and is an expert in dividing her time among all of them, although not necessarily equal, its enough that shes become someone irreplaceable in all of them. also the way she acts depends whether shes feeling "mom friend" or "chaotic gremlin anti-mom friend", most of the time its the latter, but she is reliable and actually very kind and caring.

she loves her family dearly, they are always first priority. she loves JC and LQG a lot, and she loves jin ling as well. she spends majority of her weekends with them, and loves to hang out, hear stories, etc. whether it be learning how to sharpen a sword from LQG, picking lotus pods at lotus pier with JC, or competing with JL in archery, she loves it all. she has a good relationship with all of them, because she was adopted at a young age. (two years old actually, she had a broken arm which made JC take her in, dont worry she wasnt abused or anything she just fell because she didnt know how swings work😀)

like JC, shes very confident and prideful on the outside- but on the inside shes very insecure- always doubting herself. shes one of the best cultivators her age, and she could be the best as well- her flaws though are the fact shes always doubting herself (which makes her look at the ground or unable to maintain eye contact, but shes working on it!!) and that she isnt as physically strong as others.

shes also really smart, and ever since she was young she always has been inclined to music- singing and dancing- and is always coming up with new arts and crafts for fun (she cant draw though, she only draws flowers and inanimate objects, people? no.) and actually has a hobby of writing stories. despite that and her personality, her thought process is actually very logical + she can learn something from doing it once or twice = shes a bright young girl with a bright future
