i see posts between binary trans folks and other folks like

"please don't call me dude, it's a gendered term."

which gets pushback in the form of, "It's not gendered to me!"

and the thing is both of these people are technically correct but the second person is missing the fucking point.

whether something is gendered or not if someone asks you to not call them something do not react defensively. it's not about you and your perception of the word, it's about theirs. If a woman asks to not be called a guy don't call her it!

don't call people things they don't like regardless of you own perception of the gendering of the word!

If an enby tells you to not call them a 'girl' in the queer community way, don't call them a girl! hell, if a woman asks you to not call her a 'girl' because she's a woman then don't call her one either.
