it kills me how gently Sean handles Mushroom's dead body here. he never had the connection with her that Daniel did, he never wanted her in the first place and probably struggled not to see her as another mouth to feed, but he still cradles her to his chest instead of holding her out away from him, even though she's just died an extremely messy death that doesn't look good and probably smells even worse and realistically his coat should be smeared with blood for the rest of the ep lol that'd be fun to explain to the grandparents. you can see his hand moving to support her head the way you do with babies, the way Sean probably learned to do with baby Daniel way back when, the way he clearly associates with holding tiny precious things. ntm how the only reason he's able to hold Mushroom at all is because he just let Daniel take a life in the name of avenging her death, Sean's holding that responsibility along with a corpse. he trusted Mushroom to look after Daniel in the cabin, so he's looking after her now, making sure Daniel has a chance to do the same, before carrying her off and burying her as well as he can.
