Would that work for killing Crookedstar though? Like type 1 diabetes is deadly without treatment, but IIRC it takes like a year to kill you untreated at least with humans, it wouldn't be a very efficient way to poison someone.
@halogenwarrior
It would work wonders. It would be a slow and agonizing death by wasting, if something else didn't take him out first.
Leopardfur is a smart girl. She doesn't want it to happen quickly, because that would look like a poisoning. Just tipping the scales over to trigger his (cat) type 2 into type 1 is perfect.
He'll have a hard time focusing, he'll have trouble keeping up his duties, always thirsty, and constantly be going to the dirtplace. His vision might fail, he might be unable to stand. His body is breaking down tissue to use as fuel.
Floods, color cough outbreaks, even famines (rare in RiverClan but it happened a few books before this point), any of these would have an easier time draining those lives away while Crookedstar's organ fails.
In humans, progressing from Type 2 to Type 1 can take a few weeks, or several years. I'd have to read studies to find out how long that timeline is for cats, so I'm going to be kind to myself and go with the estimate of a couple weeks.
Once active diabetic keitoacidosis sets in, that can kill in hours. Before 1922, 'treatments' to extend a patient's life could only extend it by the 1 - 3 years you mentioned. That was a rigid regiment of dietary restriction and only the rich had the time and resources to do those treatments.
More often, it killed in weeks or a few months after Type 1 Diagnosis.
I may be a man of science, but if magic exists in this world, it's packaged and sold as Insulin.
they could find a dead frozen animal to discover freezing the pancreas seperates the insulin maybe? They dont need to know WHY it works, just that freezing prey somehow works when unfrozen prey doesn't.
Maybe... it still seems odd that they would figure out to then take the frozen pancreas, grind it, and then inject it
I might use one of the gods for this one... or have them learn how to treat Type 1 after their stay with the Tribe, since they have access to Stoneteller who trains actual medics. Maybe a mix of both, say that Half Moon learned all this through the knowledge she gains from Midnight.
I could even make it so that Goat's Rue requires VERY careful dosing to not tip over into Type 1 Diabetes, which pre-Lake was incurable, and that's how Leopardstar was able to sneakily kill Crookedstar.
#Still unsure if the Clan cats will HAVE treatments for type 1 in the forest descended from the Tribe#OR if they learn it on the trip to the Lake#Basically-- have they been carrying this knowledge since DOTC or do they learn it in TNP?#Diabetes#Diabetic keitoacidosis#Animal death#Cw animal death#Cw graphic#Graphic#Bonefall Rewrite#Bonefall TPB#Should I make a poll for this one?#@diabetic members of the audience I'd like if you weighed in on this one

For your rewrite! Are there any Big Changes youāre thinking about including?
yep! one important thing that still happens is the loss of skyclan, in this case the cats of sixty-seventh longway. this time, their close-ness to humans bit them in the ass and had them captured & taken to be kittypets. but, keep reading and you'll figure out what happens with them!!! - tpb will stay mostly the same in the grand scheme of things. tigerclaw is trying to take over the clans and firestar is destined to stop him. also, scourge still exists. there's a somewhat large timeskip between tpb and tnp in my rewrite, though. about 5-6 years in the world. i imagine if my rewrite were actually books there's be SE's and novellas and graphic novels to explain the things that happen inbetween. i'll also still develop those years, but there wouldn't be some sort of threat to the whole park (like tigerclaw & brokenstar), instead more personal & grounded spats & issues & whatnot. - tnp is almost entirely different. in the beginning, a second famine hits the park after a long time of peace, with a prophecy being sent out to a collection of cats across the park saying they need to find the remnants of the cats of trawsfynydd lake. they will, supposedly, be able to help them. the park cats chosen go out, find the remnants of trawsfynydd lake's cats (2 cats), and bring them home. trawsfynydd lake becomes a true memory, with the cats who lived there after the group split into two finally being able to live in death at peace. the trawsfynydd lake cats come to the park and use their knowledge to dispel most of the famine. but, the cats of trawsfynydd lake don't go back to the lake; they stay in the park. and they settle, they settle near the A4067 road. and then, something else comes to the chosen park cats. not a prophecy; this isn't set in stone, but an opportunity. rebuild the cats of sixty-seventh longway. and so, housecats & strays from nearby twolegplaces & cats from the other groups who want a fresh beginning set themselves down in a new camp. still near sixty-seventh way, but far enough that the humans who travel down it won't be able to discover them again. tnp ends with firestar dying. i'm not sure who i want to take up his role (it wouldn't be bramble) (not just because i dont like him its a bunch of reasons) and i don't have any plans yet for po3/oots/avos/tbc/asc. all i know is i want another timeskip after oots. but i'll get around to figuring it all out!

Iām re-reading the entirety of Warriors in non-spoiler chronological order. I seriously underestimated how fatiguing it would be to read so many books about the same events just from different perspectives.
Just between TPB and TNP iām reading 6 super editions, 8 Novellas, and 4 graphic novels. Why did i do this to myself?

š Most exciting scene would have to be... The one where Fernpaw and Ashpaw are chasing the dogs away in the first arc (It's been a bit since I've read them and that was the first one that came to mind)
š Favourite character: Leafpool. Just... Leafpool.
ā ļø Most impactful death scene: Swiftpaw (can you tell I'm a sucker for the first arc?)
š¶ Favourite character as a kid: Spottedleaf
āFavourite Leader: Leopardstar, I just thought she gave girlboss energy and I loved it
š§That one scene (I can't remember which book) where Jaypaw, Lionpaw and Hollypaw go to the mountains (Lion and Holly might be warriors at this point I don't remember) and it's after a battle and Jaypaw rushes up to them telling them to never do that again and he couldn't live without his siblings. Tears, every time.

šBest Location: The Gathering island by the lake
šFavourite Main Series Book: As I said it's been so long since I've read them, but probably Twilight.

šŖŗFirst book you ever read: Strangely, it was the last book of DotC, Path of Stars, because it was all my library had.
šFavourite graphic novel: Never read any of the graphic novels either.
ā¢ļøWorst written character: Ferncloud loses all personality after she becomes Dustpelt's mate and literally becomes a kit machine.
š§¬I like genetically accurate, because I love playing around with genetics, but artistic licence designs are always so cool (genetically accurate warrior cats coming soon from me????)
šHonestly, I don't really read the AU fanfic, or know much about it, I like the way it is right now.
āIt's been so long since I've read it I can't remember any bad books (This is a sign I have to go and re read it)
š·Least favourite character: Ummmm.... Ashfur
ā
Best canon design: Blossomfall
šµI don't really headcanon voices, so they all sound like my own voice really.

[ID: a banner-style graphic featuring a wavy rainbow background. Text laid over the background reads: āInteract-IF presents: Pride Month. Featured Authors.ā The text has sparkles on the outer corners. /end ID]
June is PRIDE Month!
During the next following weeks, we will feature interviews of queer creators. Discussing their inspirations for their projects and experience as IF creators, we want to shed a light on their journey.
Here are our monthās featured authors, please check out their works and join us in supporting them!
Kit, Author of The Northern Passage
Itās cold, so cold, and your head aches, your ears pop, water choking your throat and nose, all you can do is watch as the sky gets farther and farther away from you. Clawed hands grab at your ankles, your legs, your arms, pulling you down, tearing at your clothes and piercing your skin.
You convulse violently, your body struggling to expel the water from your lungs as more floods in.
Staring up into the fading light, you feel your body grow weak, giving in, sinking now, your blood churning all around you in the water. A hand grabs at your throat, caressing a thumb over your skin, pulling you down as the dark water turns red.
The Northern Passage is an 18+ horror fantasy CYOA, where you play as a hunter sent up north to investigate a series of missing people along the border of your home country and in the port cities of the Blackwater. Working with your handler, Lea, you will travel north and discover that things are far worse than you ever could have imagined, and that there is something powerful lurking out in the deep, dark seaā¦
Read more about The Northern Passage hereĀ (18+). Play the Demo here. Kit's Patreon. Kit is also the author of Sirenās CallĀ (18+). EDIT: TNP and SC are on a temporary pause until further notice.
Anna, Author of Wayfarer
When your mercenary work backs you into a corner, you take the only option available and accept a contract: to travel to the city of Velantis and steal an ancient artifact said to be blessed by the gods. Simple, right?
But Velantis holds more than you bargained for. Gathering a ragtag party of malcontents and renegades from across the city, you must navigate enemy factions, meddling guilds, and escalating political tensions. Your choices will ultimately determine the cityās fate ā and the fate of every person who lives there. Ā
Wayfarer is a dark fantasy interactive fiction game. You play as a Wayfarer, a member of an order of warriors born with magical immunity in a world dominated by magic. It is currently in development. The full game will include three acts and a total of 14 chapters.

Jupiter, Author of Supernova: Renegade
In the distant future, Humanity has mastered space travel and joined the intergalactic community run by an alliance known as the Galactic Board for Interplanetary Peace. While none of the GBIP species have their own military, there is still a need for a peace-keeping force. Thus, the Arbiters were created.
You have just joined the Arbiter ranksāwhether you wanted to or not. This prestigious position comes with a fair amount of perks, including your own ship and crew. However, itās also the most dangerous job in the galaxy. When a small colony faces an attack from an unknown source, youāre sent to investigate. What you uncover reveals a danger far greaterāand far closer to homeāthan you could have ever expected.

Brigid, Author of Event Horizon
[EVENT HORIZON] is a science-fiction-horror story, set far into a future in which humans are not alone in a hostile galaxy.
The Failsafe has been activated. War lingers on the horizon. Five years ago, you were one of the last people to be selected for the Failsafe and Final Stand Programs. You were frozen in time, placed into orbit at the edge of the solar system. And now, youāre hurtling through space towards a ship youāve never seen before. The Nomad. A secret mission beyond the edge of the solar system, to stop the Enemy before they can begin their second invasion. A suicide mission. A point of no return.

Brigid is also the author of Lost BirdsĀ (link, 18+) and CLOSEDLOOP (link, 18+).
Abigail, Author of Willow Creek Run
Itās finally summer and youāre spending it in your childhood home of Willow Creek. Itās a small, idyllic town in mid-America filled with rolling green hills, winding streams, and miles and miles of horse country. Most of the population learned to ride before they learned to walk, and you are no exception.Ā
Youāve agreed to help out at your fatherās training and boarding stable because heās fallen on hard times and canāt afford the summer help he needs. Heās been missing payments to the bank, and if he doesnāt pay in full soon theyāll either take the farm or heāll be forced to sell out to his old rival, Alexander Mannor.Ā
Your only hope is to win the townās summer-end competition, Willow Creek Run, and use the prize money and prestige to pay your fatherās debts and save the farm. The problem is that you donāt have a horse of your own to enter and you havenāt competed in years.
Just when it looks like all hope is lost, a mysterious horse turns up on your fatherās property with no sign of an owner and a wild look in its eye. Could this be the sign youāve been looking for? You have the whole summer to train your horse, make friends (or enemies!), and do your best to prepare for Willow Creek Run.
Read More about Willow Creek Run here. Demo: TBA
Maxim, Author of Werewolf Noir
Set in a modern fantasy world, Werewolf Noir is a dark mystery where youāre looking for the person who killed your kid. If itās for justice or revenge is up to you. You play as a relatively new werewolf after having lost everything and everyone, now living in the city of Reaver, corruption runs deep through the system and the richer someone is the more corrupt they are. Meet interesting characters and roās as you put the puzzle pieces together, get adopted by a tiny little pup or kitten, and pick out your new career path (private detective, bounty hunter, criminal) to make ends meet as you navigate this world and try to keep the wolf inside contained.
Read More about Werewolf Noir here. Play the Demo here. Maxim is also the author of Ichor: Awakening (TBA) and A Heroās Job (TBA)
Jessamine, Author of The Black River
Somewhere, somehow, you lost your memories. Youāre aware thatāwhatever it was that happened āit involved chanting cultists, and horrible serrated knives, but unfortunately none of those nice gentlemen are around to explain whatās going on to you. Ohā¦ and also it seems that whatever they did with the aforementioned chanting and knives tore a hole in the fabric of reality and opened a gateway from the world of the living to the Underworld.
Which you fell through.
And now youāre stuck, despite your best efforts, on an antique ship from several centuries ago, with a crew of dead sailors and a motley assemblage of others from the living world. You donāt know whatās going on back in the world where youāre supposed to be, but you know that it canāt be good.
In order to get home, youāll have to help sail the Will-oā-wisp across the length of the Black River, uncovering truths that change the entire way you view the world and fighting villains whose ambitions extend to the very act of deicide.
And youād quite like to get your memories back, while youāre at it.
Read More about The Black River here. Play the Demo here.
Nell, Author of Body Count
Your life isnāt going how youād hoped. Despite having big plans when you graduated, you're stuck in a dead end job and a crappy flat with zero romantic life to speak of.Ā All until a friend convinces you to join the cast of a new reality TV show.
The premise is simple: 12 singles are sent to a villa on a tropical island and they live there together for a month. After 28 days, the couple who is voted by the other islanders as being most likely to withstand the test of time will win Ā£500,000. In addition, the couple with the highest body count will win Ā£500,000. Total prize pool? Ā£1,000,000.Ā
In this context,Ā ābody countā refers to how many people youāve slept with... right? Well, thatās what you think when you sign your contract. Turns out, though, that not all of your fellow cast members will be using that definition to get to the prize.Ā
Fall in love, win big money, solve some murders and try to stay alive.
Read More about Body Count here. Play the Demo hereĀ (18+). Nell's Patreon and Ko-fi.
Heather B., Author of Jade Empire: Shadow of the Lotus
Legend tells of the Spirit Monks; servants of the Water Dragon, shepherds of the dead, warriors without peer. Though their order was all but wiped from existence forty years ago, they are slowly but surely rebuilding themselves. Young warriors from across the Jade Empire dream of joining their ranks.
You are no different.
You are the newest initiate of the Spirit Monk Order; raised in the idyllic Two Rivers and trained by a living legend, you are a martial arts prodigy. As the junior member of the Order, you travel the Empire, dealing with lost and vengeful spirits. But shadows of something far more sinister lurk on the horizon, and itās up to you and your allies to unravel the dark mystery before itās too late...

I've been a lurker thus far but I think it's time for me to finally make an intro post :3
hey! I'm heath, 20+. he/him works, they/them is fine. I've been reading the warriors books for over half my life at this point.
I've read through tpb, tnp, po3, oots, and like half of dotc as well as a fair amount of the super editions and graphic novels. have not read avos or a starless clan (asc?).
I just bought A Warrior's Choice to read through Blackfoot's Reckoning and Daisy's Kin.
I'm currently in grad school for ecology so the nature brainrot runs deep.
I'm also writing my own original fiction about pigeons! I probably won't talk about it much on this blog until it's further along (like. sone) but I'm most of the way through the first novel.
these two things combine to mean I probably won't have a lot of finished long-form wc fanfic, but I do write and enjoy it.
I write a fair amount of one shots such as A Fire Across The Moor (link to it on AO3, will probably post it here eventually). Anything else will probably be a WIP or just an idea :P
I'm disabled and I love the disabled characters in warriors and generally think they deserve better so a lot of my ideas will probably center around that.
also, radfems can fuck right off. go away. im not gonna talk to you.
happy to answer questions or talk to people. I'm friendly and generally don't bite, and if I do I have all my shots :P (/j)
personal tag is #heathfall. anything else will be tagged as I see fit.
thanks for making it this far into my ramble!! :3

Libraries are indeed your best friend when reading Warriors. Each book can be $20 and that will add up quickly. Spare your wallet and your bookshelves and just do that or pirate.
If you want to read everything or mostly everything, audiobooks may be your companion here. Every core series book, most super editions, and a few of the most recent novellas have audiobook covers, leaving you to read the field guides, graphic novels, and most novellas. That will also add up quickly, but some folks have uploaded the audiobooks on YouTube and every core series book save for the latest arc is on a single playlist. I won't link them here but you can find them fairly easily.
Absolutely start with The Prophecies Begin. The four prequel super editions (Bluestar's Prophecy, Crookedstar's Promise, Yellowfang's Secret, and Tallstar's Revenge) could all be read alongside Po3 and OotS, but you could start reading them as early as TNP if you so wish.
If you wish to keep up with The Skyclan Saga, here's a half-decent idea for the order to read those: Firestar's Quest (probably best read right after finishing TPB), Cloudstar's Journey and Skyclan's Destiny (read both of these soon after FSQ), Skyclan and the Stranger (read this after finishing Po3), Ravenpaw's Farewell (read this after OotS), Hawkwing's Journey and Pebbleshine's Kits (read this midway through AVOS).
Regarding supplemental material (novellas and super editions) I would strongly recommend what I call the "seven-year rule". If the book was released more than seven years after its nearest core series book in the timeline (or "anchor book", like Exile From Shadowclan is the anchor to Yellowfang's Secret, Crookedstar's Promise is the anchor to Mapleshade's Vengeance and Leopardstar's Honor, and Bluestar's Prophecy is the anchor to Pinestar's, Goosefeather's, Redtail's, and Spottedleaf's books), you probably don't need to read it because the authors' mentality is closer to its current arc than the anchor arc. This would knock out books like Blackfoot's Reckoning, Leopardstar's Honor, Onestar's Confession, Tigerclaw's Fury, and I'd also argue the Then portions of Graystripe's Vow. Hollyleaf's Story, Leafpool's Wish, and Crowfeather's Trial are toeing that boundary, so it's up to your discretion if you want to read those. Graphic novels do not have to be held accountable to this rule, because they're much easier to read and a little more fun and less riddled with issues.
DotC can be entirely ignored if you wish.
And my dear botblog-lookalike, you don't need to read the books in order to "fit in". In order to have certain discussions about topics shown in the books, I would say you need to have recently read the book or books in question. (To, you know, be familiar with the material over which you're talking about. I could claim Shadowstar's Life promotes authoritarianism or Tree's Roots glorifies harmful depictions of minors and only three people could stand up to shoot down my baseless statements or build up strong counter-arguments rebutting my half-thought-out claims because that's how many people actually read the damn books.)
This is unrelated to anything, but lexiskillinit, I would recommend you change your icon and header so you don't look like a bot and people won't block you thinking you are.
Hey, you seem like a big warriors fan on tumblr. I keep seeing Warriors stuff on my feed. Thinking about potentially reading the books, but do you have any tips when there are literally eight major arcs, with six books in each, not including the standalone stuff. Iām really curious and I donāt have a lot of space in my house for 50 new books, do you know about any way to kind of pare down the amount of reading necessary. Do you need to read every single book to understand whatās going on? Or do you just need to know the stuff about the most recent arc(broken code) and the recent new book(Starless Clan: River) to fit in with the fandom? Any books I donāt have to read and Iāll still be fine?
Hi!!! So, in terms of not having room in your house for a ton of new books, I can definitely recommend using your local library or reading free pdfs online (or buying them if u prefer)! There are also plenty of audiobooks too :)
As for reading them at all, Iād honestly suggest reading the first arc (The Prophecies Begin) both because itās the start of it all and bc I think it does a great job at establishing the world building and all that! Plus, the protagonist is like the most famous cat of em all LOL. Aside from that, I think the most āimportantā arcs are probably The Power of Three, Omen of the Stars, and The Broken Code, personally, but I do also love the rest and would recommend all of them if you have the time. I think the prequel series, Dawn of the Clans, is the least relevant at this point of time in the fandom? U donāt need to read any (all?) of the novellas/mangas/super editions to know whatās up rn but they are oftentimes a good readājust not necessary. The Warriors wiki has both simplified and detailed plot descriptions for every book that you can skim through instead of reading the whole book if youād rather catch up sooner than later.
Also, thereās no need to Fit In with the fandom or anything. I donāt know if Iām even necessarily a big part of it, I just like engaging with it and other fans and making some art, thatās all. I havenāt read tooooo much besides the main arcs, actually, so thereās a lot Iām missing on the sidelines!
Ehhhh this is a lot, sorry, but TL;DR: start with the first arc, and use online resources or the library if you donāt want to buy books. Get into it bc u like it, not bc u want to join a fandom :P

You mentioned how Brokenstar made the kits warriors to take advantage of that loophole in Darkstar's Commandment, so I'm curious about names. Like Brownpaw, Blossomkit, Swampkit, Mosspaw. What are their full names since they skipped apprenticehood? Would Badgerfang and Volewhisper still have their names the way they are considering they weren't given those names by Brokenstar?
Speaking of them, several of these guys should survive into TNP imo... will consider which ones.
I like Volewhisper's name coming from Nightstar, but I've changed Brokenstar so much that I invalidated a lot of Exile From ShadowClan. Not because I dislike that story (it is my favorite graphic novel), but simply because it's not the story I'm telling
Vole and Badger's names won't be changing much, because I avoid renames.
But for fun here's rough draft names for each apprentice;
Brownpaw: Brownstone. He's very large and sturdy: if he survives he will be on ShadowClan's construction patrol
Blossomkit: Blossomfrost. I may save her for death in Runny's Plague anyway, since that seems more fitting than dying in early training. In her appearance in a field guide she was noted to die from Brokenstar's ambition and be spared from "greater horrors," I think that fits never seeing TigerClan.
Swampkit: Swampfang or Swamptuft. I imagine he's kinda wild looking, fur that sticks up all over the place, like it fluffed up after he shook off marsh mud. Probably related to Mistcloud and her child Kinkfur tbh.
Mosskit: Mossthorn. I would make a joke this brings to mind an image of a thorn in bedding, a 'thorn in your side', like Brokenstar just wanted a cool name without considering its implications.
Also, there is
Mintkit: Mintpool, Mintwater. Implies poison. His sister Marigoldkit was killed by Runny to frame Yellowfang, but he is alive at the time of the WindClan Massacre.

posting schedule & general info
rewriting because i reworked things
quick links: about | genetics ask guidelines | faq | corrections | udpates | info | requests | anons | fic recs | wbcd | ao3 (external link)
quick facts about me: matthew, mateo, or mallow | he/him | awab (assigned windclan at birth) i call people babe platonically lemme know if it bothers you
spoiler policy: main books and super editions will have clearly annouced statuses. graphic novels and novellas will be tagged until i forget my fics are a lawless land. i assume you're caught up. (although i try to hide major reveals under readmores for a few days.)
tagging "lsh spoilers" for leopardstar's honour spoilers
tagging "alitm spoilers" for a light in the mist spoilers
ask hour: once a day, usually in my evening, i do an ask answering hour. you know. an hour where i answer asks. sometimes i annouce it, sometimes i don't. anyway! you can send an ask any time, ofc, i just usually answer in a batch.
schedule below the cut:
n.b. this schedule is no longer applicable but i'm too tired to update it syo you just have to live with that.
mondays ā ashes [po3]
tuesdays ā ??? [pre-tpb]
wednesdays ā i'll believe the wind is calling me [tpb]
thursdays ā ??? [tnp]
fridays ā may there be no sadness of farewell [tbc]
saturdays ā ??? [avos]
sundays ā i'll come back to you someday soon myself [oots]
series designations are not hard boundaries, and no, i don't know what i'm doing when asc comes out. there's also not a Guaruntee i'm going to post the next chapter every week; sometimes things aren't ready. but i'm usually on schedule.
ficlets from wbcd will be interspersed every few days to give myself a break.
on hiatus:
saccharine tithes of love and glory1 [po3, avos]
dream of a home i'll never see [tnp]
waiting for me in some unholy sunlight [tnp]
upcoming projects (not necessarily in order):
in offering to hestia [tpb]
heathertail's school for attractive, murderous she-cats [avos]
would you say you depend on the weather [po3]
expressio unius est exclusio alterius [tnp]
keeping the stars apart [pre-tpb]
repeat the lies of my mother unchanged [tbc]
cloudtail's daughter [oots]
not technically on hiatus, but there's going to be a long gap between "for moments that we stole" and "sit and watch what we'll become", so it feels fair to put it here so no one is expecting anything soon.Ā ā©ļø

books: 9, 28, 43, 121?
thank you! just going to first say that i do not have a great memory at the moment & i really haven't read many books in the past few years. i'm going to be scanning my bookshelf for this lol.
9. your favourite book of 2020
tbh i'm sitting here trying to remember which books i actually read in 2020. not a great year for my book reading lmao. think i might just share a couple of books i actually read in 2020.
first i'm going to have to give a warriors book, and that is a shadow in riverclan. very good book, i definitely enjoyed it. i do get why people say that it seems more like it was thought of in mind for stormfur and not feathertail based on tnp characters, but it was still a good read and reinvented their characters in a good way. better than other changes in character they've done.
animorphs: the invasion graphic novel. i never read this series as a kid because i was always scared away by the covers, but in 2019 or 2020 (can't remember) i got into it. then i preordered the graphic novel. i'm really looking forward to more graphic novels being released for animoprhs, since it'll be cool to see how they handle certain parts.
now i'm trying to think of if i actually read a book that's not a mange/graphic novel. i mostly read fanfic. there is one book that was technically from 2019 but it was late enough in the year i'll count it. a house in the sky by amanda lindhout. i listened to her speaking about it, bought her book from her, and then read it in my small bit of free time during the conference. read it very quickly, cried, it was good. it's about her becoming a solo reporter, then her her 15 month captivity. it's a rough book, even after you've listened to her talk about her experiences and know what will happen.
28. a book you wish you could read as a beginner again
honestly, i can't think of any at the moment. i know there has to be at least one, but my mind is blanking. if i think of one i'll find this ask again and reblog it!
43. a book that you have read more than 3 times
into the wild. as the first warriors book i've read it quite a few times at least during rereads of the series. and then with the amount of aus & rewrites i've read? oh it feels like i've read it way more than i actually have lmao.
don't want any answers that are just warriors, so i'll share a book that i got as a kid that's still sitting on my shelf. it's less than 10k words and has that good ol' old book smell. have no idea how old my copy is, the only date it says is 1964. unfortunately the only info about the library it's from has been sharpied over. the book is tawny the mountain lion by rhonda leonard. it's the first book i remember reading that had a bittersweet ending. tawny died, but he did so in protecting his family.
121. a book that makes you nostalgic
can't necessarily pick one book, there's an entire genre of books that makes me nostalgic. that genre is kids horse books, especially the series. the main series i can remember is the phantom stallion. i really enjoyed those books. there was also the phantom stallion: wild horse island, misty of chincoteague, the black stallion, and heartland (which had/has a show that i was incredibly disappointed to learn was about romance and not horses).
i really want to get some of these books and reread them someday. i'm not sure how they'll hold up, but they were a huge part of my childhood and i read some of these series repeatedly. also the only one i remembered without googling was the phantom stallion. i want to go back to the kids section of my favourite library at some point and ask someone about the horse books there or just browse since i'm sure there's more i've forgotten. if anyone can think of any more you're welcome to let me know!
#rowan chats#ask game#answered#anonymous#thank you for asking!#sorry for the not great answers for a couple my memory is not great#you can definitely send me more numbers if you'd like#like just see how many i sent scout lmao#also had to actually go on my computer for this lol. haven't used tumblr on my computer for ages

Guys... maybe Mudclaw's graphic novel is going ends with him.... team up with Ashfur in the last arc???? I mean winds of change means not only about Tallstar changing Deputy, but also all the code in general and he already guessed that it would have transformed since TNP and he isn't happy about it.....
