Okay. I’m going to answer these for TMQ modern AU! & I might do some drabbles about it later, because road trips are my jam!!
My babies would go on a cross country road trip, & hit as many places/cities in between as they could! Or maybe, they’re trying to visit all 48 of the… I forget what they’re called exactly, but the connected states!
They’re going because they’re still young & a little crazy & they want to do something fun before they’re all ~adults~ and have ~responsibilities~. Or at least more responsibilities than they have now!
It would be Talitha & Lyr’s idea. Ava, Viviana, Elaena, & Alinora would be into it immediately. Aishlynn & Asa would take some convincing but ultimately agree to go.
your oc’s are going on a road trip.
where do they go?
why are they going?
who’s idea was it?
answer these questions, or use them as inspiration to write a drabble!
if you write something, please tag this blog!

‘c’mere. shh, it’s okay.’ - lyr @ tali
Hi. this one hurt, thanks XD
but i had fun writing it ;)
modern au! bit angsty, bit fluffy. enjoy~
Tumblr media
Talitha pulled the blankets over her head. Her face was wet, and sticky. Her vision was blurred. She fumbled for her phone. She sniffed, hard, and wiped at her eyes. Then she opened her messages.
lyr i need u
Dots. Dots. Dots. Filling and emptying, their little animated jolts seeming to mock her as she watched.
on my way, tali j. need me to stop for anything?
She considered.
no. just get here fast.
Then after a moment of consideration:
but not so fast you get arrested, pls.
Lyr sent her a thumbs up emoji. She locked her phone and shoved it under her pillow. Then, she buried her face in it, blankets still over her head. She was glad Lynette was over at a friends house tonight. She didn’t need to see this. How absolutely wrecked Talitha was. She hated feeling like this. She hated it so, so much.
It seemed to take forever for Lyr to get there. But it also seemed to take no time at all. Her door creaked as it swung open, and clicked when it shut. She pulled the blankets off, letting them pool in her lap as she looked up.
Lyr made a soft noise when he saw her. He reached her bed, and opened his arms. “C’mere,” he said softly.
She threw her arms around him, buried her face in his stomach, and sobbed.
One hand rested on the back of her head. The other, between her shoulderblades, rubbing slow, soothing circles. “Shh. It’s okay,” he said. “It’s all going to be okay.”
Talitha cried. And cried. And cried.
Lyr moved to sitting on her bed, holding her that way instead. Rocking her slowly, back and forth. She felt like a child. But she also felt secure, and safe. When her cries had finally subsided, Lyr asked, still in that same low tone, “What happened, Tali?”
It wasn’t like her to just lose it like that. Both of them knew it. She was good at letting things slide off of her, like water on a duck. But sometimes things didn’t just slide off. Sometimes things hurt, hurt enough that she cried, that she needed someone to comfort her.
This was one of those times.
“My mom finally left my dad,” she said, her voice raspy. “Because she got pregnant again. By some other guy. And... I just... why didn’t she leave for us? Why didn’t she get us out of there? Why did I have to do it myself? Why did I have to scratch, and claw, and fight my way out of there, and fight to take Lynette with me, and still have to be bound to them?”
“I don’t know,” he whispered.
“Weren’t we good enough for her?” Talitha asked. “Weren’t we... worth that?”
Lyr tightened his grip around her. “Of course you were. Your mother was, is, a fool not to see that.”
She buried her face in his shoulder. “I don’t want to tell Lynette. I’m afraid of how she’ll take it.”
He stroked her hair. “Better she hears it from you then your mom,” he said. “Or your dad.”
“I know,” she whispered. “I know. I’ve narrowed her reaction down to two options. One, she takes it the same way I did. Which. Is going to break my heart, honestly. Two, she... puts that aside and is happy for mom. And excited about the baby. And... that one sounds better. But I think. I think it’s going to make me feel worse, honestly. Because how can she forgive that? And why... can’t I?”
Lyr rubbed her back. “She can forgive it because of you, Tali. You gave that to her. You made it so that she could forgive your mother, because you protected her from all of it. You provided for her. You made her feel safe, made her feel protected. You played mother and big sister. But you didn’t have someone to do that for you. Instead, you took on a burden--a burden you may have been happy to take. But that doesn’t change the fact that it was more than you should have ever had to deal with.”
Talitha shut her eyes. “It hurts.”
“I know. I know, Tali J.”
“Spend the night?”
“Duh.”
She smiled. “Thanks, Lyr.”
“No thanks needed.” He laid his head on hers. “I’ll always come when you call.”
“I know,” she said softly. “I know you will.”

5 for the misc or 9 for the angst👀👀👀
decided to do misc for this one!!
modern au!
Tumblr media
“Oh my goodness! Can I pet your cat?”
Asa glanced up from where he was watching Duchess Long-Fur-One-Eye (Duchess or Duchy for short) roll around on her back, lazing in the sun as he sat on a bench and texted Aishlynn.
A young woman stood before him, hair in a braid and dotted with flowers. She was brown skinned and brown haired, and she wore a pale yellow sundress. Her feet were bare, giving her the appearance of a forest nymph or some other wild creature.
He squinted a bit. “Do I know you?”
The girl laughed lightly. “Ah, silly me.” She held her hand out. “My name is Ava Inerra. I really like animals, and your kitty there is gorgeous.”
He took it, giving her hand a firm shake. “My name is Asa Veranus. This here is Duchess. And thank you. But you seem a bit familiar...?”
“I think I’ve seen you around campus,” she confirmed with a nod. “My mother is also one of the department heads. Biology, to be specific.”
Asa’s eyes widened. “Ah, yes! You resemble her quite a bit,” he said. “What are you studying?”
“Veterinarian science,” she said. “Though I’m thinking of studying botany eventually as well.”
Asa laughed a bit. “How coincidental. I’m studying medicine, in the hopes of becoming a doctor.”
Ava grinned. “That is coincidental.”
He waved at Duchess. “You’re welcome to pet her if you like. She enjoys the decision.” He leaned in conspiratorially. “That’s why I named her Duchess, see. She’s a bit full of herself.”
Ava laughed again. “This would be the moment where I point out she’s a cat,” Ava teased. “But my brother has a dog at home, and she’s about as uppity. We called her Lady. Lady Large Paws, specifically. ‘Course, that was when she was still a puppy.” She offered her hand for Duchess to sniff, which Duchess nuzzled like the glutton for attention she was. Ava’s hand buried itself in brown-gold fur. “She fell all over herself a lot.”
“I didn’t know Duchess as a kitten,” Asa said. “But I imagine she was much the same.”
Ava smiled. “Do you have any other animals?”
“Two more cats and a bird,” he confirmed. “Duchy is the oldest, so I thought I would take her to get away from the younger two a bit. Normally you’ll see me out here walking Scoundrel. He’s the youngest, and full of energy.” Asa rolled his eyes fondly. “Countess comes with me on occasion, but she’s perfectly content somewhere high up, where she can judge the rest of us.”
“And the bird?” Ava cocked her head.
Asa grinned. “Don’t often take him on walks. His name is Baron, and he mostly spends time mimicking the sound the food makes, and watching Scoundrel and Duchy fall for it. Every... single... time.”
Ava laughed. “It sounds like you have quite the handful on your hands!” She scratched at Duchy’s ears in the way she absolutely loved. Asa could hear her purr. It was a bit broken and overloud, but it always made him happy to hear it regardless.
“Absolutely. Wouldn’t trade it for the world, though.”
Ava smiled. “No, I imagine not.”

For the Pride Questions! #14 with Aishlynn Mynerva annnnnnd #7 with Asa Veranus
thank you!!!! and funny you should choose these two, considering i’m planning a romance for them :D which means these will work great together, honestly, so i’m going to combine them ;)
i’m setting these in a modern au of mine i haven’t gotten to play much in :D
pride month prompts! [open]
7.  Their first outing/date that was impacted by their identity (maybe for a gender based identity, wearing something gender affirming. Maybe for an aspec, a special date that emphasizes their partners respect for their orientation)
14.  Introducing their partner
[under a cut bc this got a bit long!]
Asa picked at the sleeves of her blouse, biting her lip as she gazed in the mirror. Everything felt like too much one moment, and not enough the next. It had never been an issue before, before she had met her friends. She dressed how she felt--often turtlenecks and long skirts or very loose trousers, regardless of how she felt that day.
Then, she met Aishlynn. It didn’t take long for her to come out to her--Asa knew that a lot of people didn’t understand Aishlynn’s mannerisms, but she did, and she felt safe around Aishlynn. Safe enough to be herself, which was really all that she or anyone could ask for out of someone.
Aishlynn’s sister and friends were a different story.
It’s not that Asa didn’t think they would be accepting. She just... well. It was all still so new to her, hanging around them. She’d known Aishlynn for several years now. Talitha as well, actually, though in a more distant way. The others were... new.
But now she and Aishlynn were dating. Which meant she was going to be around them more. And she didn’t want to have to hide part of herself, part of their relationship with this group that had become so central to Aishlynn’s life. (No matter what she said.)
Knowing all of that, feeling all of that, didn’t stop her from being nervous, though.
There came a knock on the door.
“Asa?” It was Aishlynn. Of course it was. “We really need to be leaving soon.”
“Just a minute, darling.” Unconsciously, her voice went higher, softer than normal. She’d always had a softer and higher pitched voice than AMAB people generally had, but years of practice and work had allowed her to make it even more feminine, when she needed it to be.
“Alright,” Aishlynn said. “I’m going to tell Talitha to order your tea.”
Asa tried to frown, but wasn’t quite able to. “Underhanded,” she said. “You know I like my first cup hot.”
Aishlynn laughed. It was a wonderful sound, and not one that Asa got to hear often. She was in a good mood. It made her smile widen. “Whatever it takes to get you out the door,” she said, but Asa knew that she would wait as long as was necessary. Would cancel the whole outing if Asa said the word.
It was that thought that finally gave her the courage to open the door, and step out into the hall.
Aishlynn looked her over.
Asa hadn’t put on anything fancy. Just a nice, butter yellow sweater dress over black leggings and boots. Her hair had been braided, resting over her shoulder. Small hoop earrings completed the ensemble.
She smiled. “How do I look?”
Aishlynn took her hand. “Wonderful.”
###
The bell of the cafe tinkled as they entered. Asa could feel her palms sweating. Aishlynn paid them no mind, instead guiding her across the cafe to a corner booth.
A crumpled straw wrapper bounced off Talitha’s cheek and rolled off the table to land by Asa’s feet. None of the table’s occupants paid it any mind--they were too busy watching Talitha brace her hands on the table. “Oi!” She grasped at the straw in Lyr’s mouth, which he pulled out, laughing.
“I’m so glad to see such shining examples of maturity,” Aishlynn drawled.
Talitha turned to them with a grin. She glanced at Asa, but didn’t even bat an eye. “Right, because your reaction would have been any more dignified,” she shot back. She didn’t wait for Aishlynn to respond, though, instead looking directly at Asa.
Asa could feel her heart beat faster.
“You look lovely, feathers,” she said. “Though, there is a distinct lack of... feathers.”
Asa snorted. “Believe it or not, I don’t wear them every day.” She paused. “And... thanks.”
Talitha grinned. “So, like, are you trans? Nonbinary? Using gender neutral pronouns, or feminine ones? Or! Or, wait, is this like, you still prefer masculine pronouns but you just like wearing traditionally feminine clothes? Or--”
Alinora yanked Talitha back into the booth, though this had a side effect of causing her to fall in Alinora’s lap. “Give Asa a chance to answer,” she said, and Asa appreciated the purposeful lack of pronouns.
“I’m genderfluid,” she said. “Today I’m feeling more feminine. Feminine pronouns are appreciated, but neutral and masculine pronouns are fine too.”
Talitha squinted at her. “Are they, or are you just sayin’ that to make it easier on us, because, believe me, I can handle the--”
Alinora covered her mouth. “Aishlynn wouldn’t let her lie to us, Tali,” she said, in a voice of long-suffering patience.
Lyr nodded. “It’s true.” He glanced at Asa, and then at her hands joined with Aishlynn’s. “Don’t think that’s the only thing that they came to tell us, either.”
It was Aishlynn who answered this time, lifting and extended their conjoined hands. “We’re dating,” she said, plain and simple--as she preferred. It made Asa smile.
Talitha raised her glass. “Hear, hear! Congratulations!”
Lyr joined suit, and after a shared glance, so did Ava and Alinora.
Alinora lowered her glass and looked at Aishlynn. “So is that where you’ve been disappearing to? Date night?”
Aishlynn nodded. She and Asa slid into the empty seats--Asa next to Talitha, because Aishlynn sitting next to her was always a disaster, and Aishlynn next to Ava.
Alinora glanced at Asa. “You’ll be coming around the house more too, won’t you?”
“If that’s okay?”
Alinora shrugged. “Aish’s house. I have a system, though. I’ll run it through with you.”
“It’s not complicated,” Talitha said. “Don’t worry ‘bout it.”
“If it’s not complicated, why do you mess it up every time you come over?”
“Because you’re adorable when you yell at me~”
Alinora scowled.
Aishlynn snorted. “I did warn you she was obnoxious,” she said, and reached over to take Asa’s hand over the table.
Talitha gagged playfully, which caused Alinora to dump her into the floor. Lyr laughed, Ava rolled her eyes fondly, Aishlynn hid her smile into her shoulder, and Asa?
Asa relaxed into her chair, taking the drink Ava slid her, and smiled into her cup.

“Did you seriously just get your foot stuck in a toilet?” “Maybe.” - pirate baby & her bestie
Individually, these two are smart. Put them together and they are... kind of dumb. This was p fun :D
Modern AU :D
“Did you seriously get your foot stuck in a toilet?” Talitha asked, arms crossed. She might have looked stern, but she was trying to hold back a laugh.
“Maybe.” Lyr frowned. “Stop judging me and help me get it out. This is disgusting.”
Talitha rolled her eyes. “Then why did you put it in there in the first place, dumbass?”
“Okay, look. I didn’t put it in there. I fuckin’ slipped.”
Talitha hummed. “Word of advice--close the lid next time you try climbing on the toilet.”
Lyr groaned. “Just pull me out of here, you asshole.”
Talitha smirked. “One second.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone.
“Oh, fuck you. Kick a man while he’s down, why don’t you?” Lyr scowled at her, and she snapped a few photos. Then backed them up. She switched over to SnapChat, and snapped a quick photo there as well. Caption? I always knew he was a piece of shit. Ava would get a kick out of that. Aish might even snort.
“Alrighty,” she chirped. She walked behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Ready?”
“Hurry it up already.”
She laughed again, and gave a mighty tug. She overestimated the amount of strength needed, though, which made them stumble back. She didn’t fall over, but only because she bumped into the wall. Hard.
“Ugh.”
Lyr snickered. “Karma.”
Talitha rolled her eyes and dropped him.
“Ow.”
“Karma,” she mocked him.
“You are the worst.”
“I try~”

“Stop telling me you’re okay” for whoever you want! :D
thank youuuuu~
this one was a lot of fun! i didn’t really expect where it was going to go until i started writing it, haha. the ending is a li’l bit cheesy but i’m pretty happy with it anyway! (esp since this was written on my phone! which means i apologize for mistakes in advance. between teensy keyboards and autocorrect writing this, while fun, was also a bit of a pain.)
200 Dialogue Prompts! (technically 150 for me, since I don’t want smut prompts. but!)
Tumblr media
"Stop telling me you’re okay," Talitha said. Ordered. Whatever. Even her cheerful demeanor had its limits, and there was no one better at testing them than Alinora. (Except perhaps Lyr, but it was different kind of testing.)
"I am okay," Alinora snapped, but the way she radiated tension said otherwise.
“It’s understandable to be nervous,” Talitha tried, making an attempt to curb her irritation. They couldn’t both be grumpy—that would just lead to disaster. “I mean, you haven’t seen him, in… how long now?”
“Doesn’t matter,” Alinora said shortly. “I’m not nervous. I’m fine.”
“Oh, for the love of— Stop lying to me! You are very clearly, very obviously not okay. Your father is six hours away. Six. Hours. We are not driving that far in strained silence, just for you to end up snapping at him when we get there,” Talitha said shortly, patience emptied. “You’ll end up regretting it. Then running. Then regretting that, and avoiding attempting to reach out. And constantly torturing yourself over it, in an endless fucking cycle, and I’m not dealing with it. So tell me what the fuck is wrong so we can fix it and get this show on the road.”
“Not everything is something you can fix, Talitha!”
“I know that, Alinora, or did you forget about my parental situation?” Talitha crossed her arms.
Alinora very obviously winced and Talitha tried not to feel so satisfied about that. “I didn’t mean…” Alinora trailed off. She sighed, and collapsed on their bed. “I know you’re trying to help. And I appreciate that. I just… I grew up calling him Uncle Oreyn. And all that time…”
“He was actually your father.” Talitha’s voice softened.
“Yes. And I mean, it’s not like I’m upset he didn’t take me in after. Because he did.” Oreyn worked with Ellis and Rolfe to run a boy’s home for troubled teens. He’d taken Alinora in to stay at his apartment, though they’d spent a lot of time at the home instead. She still talked to the boys, and Ellis, and Rolfe. Talitha had met a couple of them, though it was through video chat.
Alinora hadn’t been able to stay, though. It was all too close to home, and every time she turned around she was reminded of what she lost. So she’d left, and come to live with Aishlynn. Talitha was glad for it, honestly. They never would have met otherwise.
“I’m more upset that… he didn’t tell me. After. I don’t know if it would have made a difference but… I keep thinking that maybe I would have felt less alone. It’s stupid, really, because if he had told me, I probably never would have come here. I wouldn’t have met you or any of the others. And I’m not sure I would have been as happy as I am now.
“But…”
“You can’t help wondering.” Talitha said softly, sitting next to her. She took Alinora’s hand. “It’s okay to wonder. You know that, don’t you?”
“In theory.”
Talitha snorted. “Fair enough.” She paused. “What does… what does him being your dad change?”
Alinora frowned, like she hadn’t thought about it. Which didn’t surprise Talitha one bit. For all that her girlfriend tended to overthink, she often overthought about the wrong things. Particularly when it concerned her past.
“I guess… I don’t know,” she said. “Maybe it doesn’t change anything.” She paused. “But… maybe it changes everything?”
“How so?”
“Well I mean. What do I call him now? How involved is he going to want to be, now that I know? How involved am I going to want him to be?”
“Alinora. He’s always acted like your dad,” Talitha said. And it was true. He’d insisted on meeting Talitha—had driven up to take them both out to dinner. Had insisted on meeting Alinora’s friends, making regular trips up to check on her. He was involved in her life the same way a father should be. Alinora just hadn’t called him that. Hadn’t known. “The only difference now is that you know there’s a biological connection.”
“I… You’re right,” she said slowly. “But it still feels like something is different.”
Talitha shrugged. “That’s because it is. But you’re stressing about everything except the real issue.”
Alinora hummed skeptically. “And what is that?” she challenged.
“You feel betrayed, ‘cause he basically lied to you all these years. And he kept secrets. And he’s never done that before. Not to you. And now you feel like he doesn’t trust you as much as you thought he did. And you’re wondering if you can trust him, now, or if he’s keeping something else from you.”
Alinora stared at her. “Where the hell did that come from?”
“Your head. I read minds, don’t you know?”
Alinora rolled her eyes. “You were doing so good at being serious,” she said with a sigh. “I guess you could be right. Maybe. But it’s not something I want to think about right now. I just… I need to see him. Before I really examine it.”
Talitha nodded. “Understandable. Now that you’re not pretending you’re fine, you should be good. I’ll pinch you if you’re being ruder than usual.”
Alinora rolled her eyes again. “Thanks,” she said sarcastically, but there was a bit of something genuine too.
Talitha beamed. “So, I get to drive, right?”
“Oh, hell no.”
“C’mon! It was one accident!”
“Nope. You can drive Lyr around all you want, but you are not driving with me in the car.”
“Baby, you know I’ll keep you safe~”
“I will lock you in the trunk.”
“Oooooh. Kinky kidnap role play?”
“On second thought, I’m just going to leave you behind.”
“Noooooo, baby don’t leave me!”
Alinora was laughing, and Talitha was grinning, and now, things really were okay.

‘you’re like a son/daughter to me.’ - tali @ nora :)
thank youuu xD this one was hilarious to write.
modern au~
prompt me: different ways to say I love you
Tumblr media
“You’re like a daughter to me,” Talitha said, draping her self against Alinora’s side, back against her and head resting on her shoulder.
Alinora shot her a look. Talitha couldn’t see it, but she could feel it. It made her grin.
“Darling,” Alinora said sardonically, “there is a lot of kinks I’m willing to try with you. That is not one of them.”
Aishlynn choked on her drink. Lyr burst out laughing. Ava hid a smile behind her glass. Asa turned bright red. Viviana rolled her eyes.
And Talitha? Talitha turned bright red. Glowing red. She could feel the heat searing her face. She straightened, whirling to face Alinora. “That’s not, I didn’t, I mean---”
She stopped when she caught a glimpse of that tell-tale sparkle in her eye, the one that said she was fucking with you.
Talitha scowled, shoving her. But she couldn’t quite suppress her smile. “That wasn’t funny!”
“No, it was fucking hilarious,” Lyr called, but they both ignored him.
Alinora laughed. “Neither was yours, and yet...”

“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.” | aish & healer baby
thank youuuuu. this is such a good prompt for them!! <3
doing this for modern au, as a redux of their first meeting in TMQ :p
see the full prompt list here!
Tumblr media
[disclaimer: i have very little medical knowledge. i write this going off of google and my own experiences. sorry for any inaccuracies!]
When Aishlynn came to, her mouth was dry, and she had a splitting headache. She squinted beneath the bright lights and slowly pushed herself into a sitting position. She glanced around.
She was in the medical ward of campus. How...?
The thought hadn’t even finished crossing her mind before a young man entered. Or, well, she assumed them to be male. They wore pale green scrubs, and had long strawberry blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. A day or two’s worth of stubble covered their face, which was rather gaunt. It matched their skinny, gangly frame.
They seemed familiar...
Yes, she’d seen them before. Earlier. She’d just finished class--one of her favorites. She’d been heading for the campus coffee shop. She hadn’t slept well the night before, due to a headache and constant sweating. They had been outside the coffee shop. Not in scrubs, then, though. No, they’d worn a tan sweater and a faded yellow skirt...
She’d gone to talk to them, and then---
They interrupted her thoughts. “You fainted, straight into my arms.” There was a hint of amusement on their face, or what Aishlynn read as such. “You know, if you wanted my attention, you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”
Aishlynn felt herself flush. It was a strange feeling. Normally her face only heated in such a way when she was angry, or ashamed. This... felt different. “I-- I didn’t...”
They laughed, but it didn’t feel mocking or rude. It was a nice sound, actually. She kind of wanted to hear more of it. “It’s fine,” they assured. “I know you didn’t mean to.” Their face slipped into something more serious. “You really should be more careful, though. You were pretty dehydrated.”
Aishlynn frowned. “I shouldn’t have been...” Then she grimaced. It wasn’t like she’d been drinking much other than a steady stream of coffee. And while it was liquid, it wasn’t the most hydrating thing. And she had been sweating an awful lot lately, despite the cool weather.
“It seems as if you’ve picked up the flu,” they explained. “You need to be on bedrest and lots and lots of fluids. Water or juice, preferably. I already talked to the campus nurse. She’s prescribed you something to take for it, to help ease the symptoms, but you really don’t need to be out and about.”
Aishlynn groaned. “I’ve got so much to do,” she muttered. “I don’t have time for bedrest.”
“You need to make time.” Their voice became stern. “Otherwise it could develop into something worse, and that will take far more time to treat.”
Aishlynn sighed. She knew that. But this illness couldn’t have come at a worse time. She really should have just gone and gotten her flu shot, but she’d been so busy. She was always busy these days, though. “I understand,” she said.
They smiled. “Excellent.” There was a brief pause, and then, “You know, when you’re feeling better, I wouldn’t mind doing our first meeting over again. The coffeeshop, around two or so?”
Aishlynn couldn’t help but smile. “I think I’d like that. You know, I hadn’t caught your name?”
“Ah. It’s Asa. Asa Veranus.”
“Aishlynn.”
“Aye-shlynn,” they tested her name, sounding out the syllables. “That’s an odd name.” He made a face. “Er... I mean...”
She laughed. “No, you’re right. It’s a little odd. I always have to correct people on the pronunciation, because of the way it’s written. People say it ‘Ashlyn’ and that’s... not the way it’s spelled. It bothered me as a kid, but it’s not so bad now. I just respond to it anyway, mostly.”
Asa snorted. “People used to say mine Ass-uh. Though sometimes I wonder if that was just because of the excuse to swear.”
Aishlynn couldn’t help but laugh again. Even feeling as terrible as she did, she had laughed more in these past few minutes then she had in a week. “I would imagine. People are strange.”
“If I wasn’t on duty, I would drink to that,” they said. “Do you have a way home?”
Aishlynn shook her head. “I usually just walk. I could probably call a cab, or ride the bus---”
“In your condition? I don’t think so. Either you’ll catch something worse or pass it to someone else,” Asa said, shaking their head. “I have a car. It’s a bit of a junker, but it runs well enough. I’ll drive you back.” They paused. “Er, if you’re okay with that, I mean.”
Aishlynn smiled. “That would be nice, actually.”
They smiled. “Wonderful. Let me get my things, and then we can go, alright? We’ll have to stop and pick up your prescription on the way. And maybe some fluids? Soup, definitely. If you don’t have any on hand.”
Aishlynn thought. “I have plenty of water. But no soup.”
Asa nodded. “Then we’ll get some. I’ll be right back.”
Aishlynn found herself smiling even after he left. Perhaps this little bout of illness wasn’t so bad after all...

thank you!
decided to do lyr and ava in modern au! :D
Tumblr media
“Can we please stop running?” Ava wheezed. “I think I’m dying.”
Lyr scoffed, only lightly winded. “Don’t be a baby, Ava,” he called over his shoulder. “We’ve barely started.”
Ava’s response was a loud groan, and then a thud. Lyr turned around to see his sister flopped backwards in the grass. She waved her hand at him. “No, you go on. I’m gonna relax here a bit. Cloud gaze.”
Lyr rolled his eyes. “I thought you wanted to get fit, to impress that girl in... botany? The on the swim team.”
“Changed my mind.”
Lyr sighed. “Well, you’re behaving better than Talitha, at least.” He came to sit beside Ava. “She ran the whole thing, complaining nonstop, then flopped over at the end and whined at me. She didn’t shut up about it for a week.”
“When does Talitha shut up about anything?” Ava asked, smiling a little. “Why don’t you just go jogging with Alinora?”
“I did. She outpaced me, and kept going way further than I do. And I was just like. Nope. No thanks. I need to get back to jogging with Amara, honestly. She goes longer than I do too, but at least she’s a little more companionable.”
Ava laughed. “Then do it. It’s not like she’s a whole city away anymore.”
“Yeah, but like. I don’t wanna deal with Kaltain.” He grimaced. “Or Uncle Kai.”
“So have her meet you some place. And contact her on her cell, not the house phone.”
Lyr flopped backwards. “Yeah. I’ll snag her after class one day. Get her number.”
“That’s the spirit,” Ava said, with a small smile. “I’m going to stick to lifting weights, though. Or a lighter jog to start.”
Lyr laughed, “So you haven’t changed your mind about this whole ‘get fit for the pretty girl’ thing.”
“Need I remind you--”
“No. No, you don’t have to bring that up.”
Ava laughed.

“This is without a doubt the stupidest plan you’ve ever had. Of course I’m in.” | nora @ tali
thank youuuu. bit late on this one, but! here it is anyway xD
modern au, bc it’s more flexible ;)
Tumblr media
“This is, without a doubt, the stupidest plan you’ve ever had,” Alinora said flatly. She rolled her eyes. “Of course I’m in.”
Talitha grinned widely. “I knew I could count on you!”
Alinora rubbed her temples. “I don’t see why you couldn’t have involved Lyr.”
This time Talitha was the one who rolled her eyes, though her little grin ruined the annoyance of it. “I mean, yeah, Lyr would have pissed my parents off, but like. He would have been to overt about it. I want to be subtle about this.”
“You want to be subtle.”
“It happens! Like right now, for instance.” Talitha waved a hand dismissively. “Anyway. As I was saying. Lyr would go in headfirst doing his best to piss my parents off as overtly as possible, and that wouldn’t be nearly as satisfactory. Especially since there are going to be other important people here. People I would like to impress with my research. I know that he would do his best to help me, but...” Talitha shook her head. “You on the other hand know how to behave at these things, and know what to say to piss certain people off but not others! I see you do it all the time.”
“And it has nothing to do with the fact that I’m female?”
“My parents are assholes, but not about that.” Talitha shook her head. “When they found out I was bi, my dad started setting me up with boys and girls both. So, yeah, that’s not the part that will piss them off. Might piss off a few others, but then I’ll know who to avoid.” She winked.
Alinora shook her head. Going to a fancy dinner with Talitha’s parents as her date. Specifically to try and piss them off while schmoozing with people who could back Talitha’s research. What could possibly go wrong?

“Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?” | tali baby & her gf
ALSO modern AU because those come easier. ((they just feel a bit more flexible ^^;))
this one is a LOT of fun, though shorter than the other XD
full prompt list here!
Tumblr media
Alinora crossed her arms. “Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?” She leaned in the door frame.
“Well, you weren’t taking any of my other hints. I thought I needed to be a little more obvious about it.”  Talitha wiggled her eyebrows.
Alinora pursed her lips. “So you decided to strip off all your clothes, and crawl into my bed.”
“Yep! Thought that one would be hard to miss.” Talitha nodded, a grin on her face.
“Did you consider the possibility that I would just throw you out?” She could, too. Though Talitha would probably fight her, and she wouldn’t put it past her to actually bite. She was feisty that way.
“You’re too nice for that,” Talitha said promptly.
“I’ve been described as many things,” Alinora said. “’Nice’ isn’t one of them.”
Talitha blew a raspberry. “That’s ‘cause those people don’t know you.”
Alinora rolled her eyes. “Put your fucking clothes on, Tali.”
Talitha frowned. “Did I read you wrong? Are you... not actually interested?”
For the first time since Alinora walked in, Talitha looked uncertain of herself. In fact, she was starting to look very much like she had fucked up. Alinora suppressed a smile.
“I never said that. But I’m a bit classier than that. Buy me dinner first. Then we can talk.”
As Alinora turned to go downstairs, and give Talitha a bit of privacy, she caught Talitha’s excited, hopeful grin. It made her heart flutter, and this time, there was no suppressing her smile.

37 for a pair of your choice :)!!
thank youuuu~
this one is really cute!!! have a modern au talinora drabble :D
Tumblr media
[disclaimer: I never went to my prom… or any school dance, ever. so what I know is mainly from tv shows and movies, and secondhand accounts of other kinds.]
37. “Wanna dance?”
“What’s a pretty girl like you doing all alone in the corner?”
Alinora’s grip tightened on her punch as she turned to face who had spoken. She relaxed a bit when she saw it was just Talitha. Then her eyes narrowed.
“What are you doing here? Last I checked, you go to school at the college. Not the high school.”
Talitha grinned. “Would you believe me if I said I was a chaperone?”
Alinora slipped her gaze over Talitha’s lavender vest and slacks, the white button up, the flowers pinned to her vest. She met Talitha’s eyes. “Absolutely not. For more reasons than one.”
Talitha laughed, throwing her head back to do so. Alinora’s grip tightened around her cup again as people’s heads turned. Talitha didn’t seem to notice or care, though.
“Well, you’d be right. Lyn decided that since I didn’t get to go to my own senior prom, since I graduated early, that I should go to here. So here I am.” She spread her arms wide.
“I wouldn’t have thought you’d be interested in something like prom,” Alinora said. It didn’t seem Talitha’s scene at all.
“You wouldn’t be wrong about that either.” Talitha paused. “Hey, that’s two for two! Good on you. Sure you should still be in high school?”
“I’m very close to not being,” Alinora reminded. “So, if this isn’t your ‘scene’, then why are you here?”
“Okay, one? The finger quotes there? Very uncool, Nora. Don’t make me regret associating with you. Two… I dunno. Guess I just thought I’d see what all the fuss was about.” She shrugged.
“I already regret associating with you,” Alinora muttered, causing Talitha to lay a hand over her heart while she huffed offendedly. “Is it living up to your expectations?”
Talitha shrugged. “It’s whatever. Kind of expected the punch to be spiked by now, though.”
Alinora snorted. “Perhaps it is. I haven’t been over there in a while.”
“I know. You’ve just been standing by the wall, nursing the same drink for half an hour, looking grumpy. Why’d you come if you weren’t gonna enjoy yourself?”
Alinora shrugged. “Promised my mom. She wanted pictures. So I got all dressed up. Aish took pictures. I went. I don’t think I’ll stay past midnight though.”
Talitha nodded. “I see, I see.”
She was silent for a bit longer. Long enough that, for a moment, Alinora thought she was going to let her be.
She didn’t have time to consider how she felt about that, though, before Talitha was stepping in front of her. “Well, I think in order for both of us to have the full experience, there’s still one more thing we ought to do.” She held out a hand. “Wanna dance, Princess?”
Alinora stared at Talitha’s hand for a long, long moment. Long enough that anyone else would have assumed she was going to say no. But not Talitha. Talitha waited, ever patient when she needed to be. Finally, Alinora set her punch down, and took Talitha’s hand.
“Why not?” she murmured.
Talitha grinned. “That’s the spirit.”
Talitha whisked her off to the dancefloor, finding them a space that wasn’t too crowded. She laid one hand on Alinora’s waist, and laced the fingers of her other hand, holding it away from them. Alinora laid a hand on Talitha’s shoulder.
“You know how to dance?” She didn’t know why she was so surprised. Even if Talitha didn’t use hers, Alinora knew Lynette’s surname. Lumina. They were old money. But Talitha’s entire… presentation threw Alinora off in so many ways. She never knew quite what to expect from the other woman.
Talitha hummed. “I do. I can play the violin too.” Though it didn’t quite fit the tempo of the music, she led Alinora in a slow waltz. “My parents were pretty big on that.” She shrugged. “Wanted Lyn and I to know a lot of things.”
Alinora hummed. “I know how to play the piano,” she offered. “And most classical dances.”
Talitha grinned. “Can you tango, princess?”
“Not with so many people around us.”
She laughed. “Another time, then.”
“We’ll see.”
“That’s as good as a yes, coming from you,” Talitha teased.
Alinora rolled her eyes. “You’re a terrible person, and I don’t know why I’m dancing with you.”
Talitha laughed, her whole frame shaking as she did so. She didn’t miss a step, however—and neither did Alinora. “Oh, just admit that you like me already, princess. Your tsundere game is getting weak.” Her tone was still teasing.
“I am not a tsundere!” She didn’t even really know what that meant, honestly. But she’d deny it anyway.
Talitha snorted. “Oh, no, you’re definitely a tsundere. Lyr and Ava would agree with me. Aishlynn might, but I’m not sure she’s ever watched an anime in her life. And who the hell even knows about Elaena.”
“I’m surprised Elaena’s not here tonight, honestly,” Alinora said. Elaena was known for popping up in the strangest of places.
Talitha shrugged. “There’s still plenty of time for her to show up.”
The song transitioned into something slower, softer. Couples filtered onto and off of the dancefloor around them. Talitha let go of her hand, and Alinora felt disappointment rise for a moment. Was it over so soon?
She need not have worried.
Talitha wrapped that hand around her waist as well, pulling Alinora in a bit closer. Instead of doing a bastardized waltz around the dancefloor, as they had before, now, they matched the other couples. Holding each other loosely about the waist and neck, swaying in tune to the music.
This close, Alinora could smell her… cologne, she was pretty sure. It smelled like a sea breeze, whatever it was. Alinora had the strange urge to lay her head on Talitha’s shoulder. Talitha was a bit too short for that to work, however, and so she didn’t. Couldn’t, really.
She found herself closing her eyes anyway.
There was still a deep ache in her chest. Losing her mother, losing Liera… and now tonight, an event that she would have taken Liera too, back home. It hurt. It hurt so, so much. But dancing with Talitha, spending this night with Talitha… made it hurt a little less. Maybe a few months ago it would have felt like a betrayal. It still did, in some ways. But she knew, in her heart of hearts, that Liera would have wanted her to be happy.
And she was. Or, well, she was getting there.
Thanks to Aishlynn, and Lyr, and Ava, and Lynette, and Elaena. And, yes, Talitha. Even if the other woman irritated her like no one else, she also… made things better like no one else. It was a strange talent. And Alinora was so, so grateful for it.

‘it’s a remedy i knew. helps with your throat.’ for "different ways to say i love you", please! :)
thank you!! this is such a cute li’l prompt~
i decided to do asa/aish bc. i love them. and this prompt is perfect for them. tmq modern au~
Tumblr media
Aishlynn looked, in a word, miserable. Asa felt for her. He approached where she was laying on the couch, a steaming mug in his hands.
“Here,” he said, voice low. Aishlynn looked up at him. Her eyes were bleary, but lucid. “Drink this. At least a few sips.”
She sat up, slowly, and carefully took it from him. “What is it?” she rasped.
“It’s a remedy I know. Helps with your throat,” he said. It was one his mother used to make, and her mother before her. It wasn’t much. Just a special blend of tea leaves mixed with a lot of honey. But it helped a lot.
Aishlynn gave a tiny nod, and sipped it slow. Her eyes closed and she let out a soft hum. “S’good.”
Asa smiled softly. He could feel the affection pooling in his face. “I’m glad you like it. Drink as much of it as you can, and I’ll get you more when its done.” He paused. “Well, after you drink a little more water.”
“Stay hydrated,” Aishlynn said dutifully. “I know.”
“And yet if I don’t keep after you for it, you don’t do it,” Asa said, trying to be stern, but he ended up sound fond instead.
“Tired.”
Asa snorted. “I know.” He carded his fingers through her hair. “Drink some more tea, and then get some rest.”
Aishlynn hummed in agreement. “’Kay. ...thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” he murmured.

because I felt like it
also it’s 4AM, I’m bored, and can’t sleep
Elinor Mynerva is killed by a rival political opponent. Oreyn isn’t listed on Alinora’s birth certificate—and has also been arrested as part of the conspiracy. Alinora is uprooted from her life and all her friends to move half a country (or a whole country) away to live with her estranged older sister.
Aishlynn is a TA to Lys’tria at the local college, which is attended by Lys’s twin children, Ava and Lyr. Also roaming around is Talitha Jade, who works at the labs with Viviana Westerguard. Her younger sister is in the same year as Alinora—and Lynette is among the first to attempt to befriend her. (Among those are also Kati, Sudi, & other canon-assassin classmates.)
Elaena’s father owns a funeral home, and she tends to hang around in the medical area of campus—usually around Asa Veranus, a struggling med student who’s Aishlynn’s… crush? boyfriend? unclear.
Then there’s Amara, who’s in Alinora’s fencing club; her creepy older sister Kaltain; and their strangely charismatic father, who teaches literature.
No tag list bc this is just self indulgent silliness xD

Can I have the odds for Asa and Talinora(?) Bls??? 🥺
yes you may!!!
1. Which oc has a sequined outfit? What style is it? How often do they wear it?
out of these three, talitha is absolutely the one who would have a sequined outfit. probably some kind of suit, (though maybe just the jacket! but i could see her having the matching pants). she would bust it out every chance she got. alinora & aishlynn would have to make her change.
3. Which oc has a clothing allergy or sensitivity (ex: they can't wear certain materials because their skin breaks out)?
hmmmm. i’m not sure, tbh!!
i could maybe see alinora and talitha both having a hard time with scratchy fabrics. talitha would hate them and refuse to wear them, while alinora would suffer through them despite probably breaking out with a rash.
5. Which oc lounges in evening wear?
not sure if this means evening wear like “really fancy clothes” or evening wear like “pajamas.” asa prefers comfort over pretty much anything else, so he’s definitely the type to lounge in his pajamas. talitha, too, would enjoy lounging in her pjs but i could also see her lounging around in fancy clothes sometimes!
7. Which oc practically lives in their work attire?
alinora. girl is always in her armor if she can help it.
talitha is also usually in her work clothes--given that she lives on a pirate ship and there’s always work to be done.
9. Conversely, which oc only wears shorts and sandals, even in the cold? Do they have a particular reason for doing so (such as having moved to a place with milder winters than they're used to)? How cold would it have to be for them to consider wearing more winter-appropriate gear?
none of them at the moment, but post the martyr queen alinora isn’t really affected by the cold. in fact, she doesn’t really feel it much at all? so she doesn’t wear winter appropriate gear unless she needs to blend in... and if she doesn’t have someone with her who can tell when it’s cold, then, she doesn’t wear it until it’s snowing. ‘cause she can’t feel it at all.
11. Which oc can't stand the heat at all and wears as little as they can get away with?
tali enjoys the heat up until a certain point, and then she’s d o n e.
asa does not enjoy being hot but he also doesn’t enjoy wearing little clothing, so he just suffers through it. same for alinora.
13. Which oc has a large budget for clothes shopping? How often do they shop for clothes, and where do they buy them? Do they enjoy clothes shopping?
talitha! she doesn’t go out intending to shop for clothes unless she actually needs something (say a really nice winter coat). in which case she goes to specialty, tailor-fitted shops. otherwise, she might pop in if she sees an outfit display she likes.
she doesn’t hate clothes shopping. she hates being fitted for clothes, though. too much standing still, which she hates.
15. Which oc needs corrective lenses and is never without them?
asa will probably need them when he’s older! but as of the moment, none of them do.
17. What style of sunglasses do your ocs prefer? Which oc always or often wears tinted lenses/sunglasses indoors? Do they have a particular reason for doing so (ex: a light sensitivity)?
talitha uses magic as a substitute for sunglasses because sunglasses don’t exist in tmq (yet), however in a modern au she would use some p nice ones. she’s not particularly light sensitive, but she values having good vision.
asa would wear polarized glasses. not too dark, though, just enough to ensure that his eyes were protected to keep his vision from worsening.
alinora only occasionally wears sunglasses/uses protective spells. she just puts up with the glare/squinting.
19. Is there an old article of clothing your oc might find and feel the need to get rid of it at once?
alinora already got rid of most of her clothes. she’s got a very tiny selection.
asa hardly ever throws out his clothes. he just stitches on patches and does his best to get stains out as well as he can. other people have to make him throw them away/convert them to bandages.
talitha will convert anything too ripped, stained, or otherwise damaged into bandages. she also goes through and gets rid of anything she doesn’t wear much every couple of seasons.
21. Is your oc in possession of any heirlooms? How do they treat/view these items? Have they had a personal relationship with the previous or original owner? Is there another oc who wishes they had the heirloom instead?
it isn’t an heirloom per se, but alinora has the ring that she gave her fiancee--as well as the one her fiancee gave to her. these two things are hardly ever out of her sight, as she wears them on a chain around her neck. they’re her secret & most treasured possessions.
also not an heirloom, but, talitha has a locket that used to belong to her sister. it has a tiny portrait of her sister, brother in law, and nephew. she also put a lock of each of their hair in it. she has her brother-in-law’s family ring. his family lost their nobility long ago, but they kept the ring despite that. & then she has her nephew’s favored teddy bear and wooden sword. these are her some of her most treasured possessions, though they’re meaningless to anyone but her.
asa has an amulet given to him by his mother before he went out to live in the woods (& then joined the resistance). this is a family heirloom, and he does his best to make sure nothing happens to it.
