Apparently today is the day MLP: Friendship is Magic premiered 14 years ago

Now I never watched the show before I ended up sitting down with my little cousin and doing so, but it's wild to me the longevity of the show, it transcended eras

When MLP: FIM premiered its contemporaries were Star Wars The Clone Wars, Young Justice, Transformers Prime, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Avengers Eearth's Mightiest Heroes, Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, Phineas and Ferb, Batman the Brave and the Bold, etc

And when it ended, it's contemporaries were Amphibia, Gen: Lock, Harley Quinn, Infinity Train, Rick and Morty, Rise of the TMNT, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Star Wars Resistance, Transformers Cyberverse, Ducktales (2017), RWBY, Ninjago, The Amazing World of Gumball, Ben 10 (2016), etc

"they said they were going to their room. haven't seen them since they freaked out in the living room," mikey replied, scratching his head.

leo sighed, "spiders again?"

"yep. i've never seen someone run that fast," raph added.

meanwhile, in your room, you were clutching a pillow, your heart racing. the sight of a spider in the living room sent you sprinting to the safety of your bedroom. you weren't just afraid; it was a full-blown phobia.

a gentle knock on your door interrupted your panicked thoughts. "hey, y/n, can we come in?" leo's voice called.

taking a deep breath, you opened the door, offering a small smile to your brothers. "hey."

"what happened out there?" donnie asked, concern etched on his face.

you hesitated before admitting, "spider."

raph rolled his eyes, "again?"

"i can't help it," you mumbled.

"it's okay. we'll handle it," leo reassured, motioning for the brothers to gather around.

they devised a plan to clear out your room and ensure there were no unwanted eight-legged visitors. mikey even volunteered to be the designated 'spider-catcher.'

once they had the situation under control, leo turned to you. "feeling better?"

you nodded.

the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that, the spiders seemed to reappear with frustrating regularity. it was as if they had a never-ending invitation to your room, despite the efforts of the turtles to keep them at bay.

each time you spotted one, you'd let out a scream that could be heard echoing through the sewers. the turtles would rush to your aid, armed with their stuff.

"ughhh. it's like they're multiplying!" mikey exclaimed

"don't they know this is a spider-free zone?" raph grumbled, squishing one with his foot.

donnie sighed, trying to come up with a logical explanation for the sudden influx of arachnids. "maybe they're attracted to something in your room?"

you shuddered at the thought, scanning your surroundings for any potential spider magnets.

leo placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "don't worry, y/n. we'll figure this out."

and what a lie that was.

Funny thing is I had a very old blog on tumblr I created when I was 14 in December 2015 it was a TMNT 2012 fan blog one of my sisters help me create it

Blind in his one eye and low-key has bad eyesight in his other one

He can still see decently but it's pretty much fucked

He likes squishmellows but he knows Mikey LOVES them so if he buys/ finds one, he'll give it to Mikey

He's more of a "childhood stuff animal nostalgia" anyways

Doesn't like to cuss but if he's REALLY scared, he'll let a loud and quick "FUCK -" slip out of his mouth

Or if he's angry hell mumble "this bitch-" or something like that

He feels like he's not doing enough as a brother but genuinely forgets that he needs to take care of himself

Not physically but more so emotionally

He beats himself up when making a mistake even if it was out of kindness

He doesn't think things all the way through and just immediately jumps to "I wanna help people!"

And ends up making a bigger mess so he feels like a bad person

( people have reassured him he's not but he plays back how people get mad at him when he messes up and he doesn't know how to forgive himself if someone got THAT mad at him )

He sometimes just gets this burst of love and just hugs one of his siblings or friends

I think he doesn't develop feelings easily ( infact it's kinda hard for him to, not in a bad way )but one time there was a yokai, about his size, and they really enjoyed each other

He didn't tell anyone but he got her number and they still talk and he might have small feelings for her

The reason he hates being alone because it's a PTSD thing ( that only got worse after the kraang thing )

( he was alone and in danger for most of the movie, the only reason he wasn't freaking out because he knew if he did he was fucked )

And he got possessed before he could even lose his shit

But basically I think he got kidnapped by a hunter and held him captive ( either chained, or in a cage ) for 2 days before splinter found him

( yes they searched for him for 2 days )

The hunter would shoot his gun next to the cage ( or restraints ) he was in to purposely mess with him

And if he cried he would get in his face and start yelling until raph forced himself to stop crying because of fear

It was traumatic

Splinter has his own trauma from losing his fucking kid for 2 days, but it still fucks with raph badly

He still remembers it so vividly that it feels like it had only happened a week ago

So add that in top of the kraang doing what they did to him.....

He was only holding it together for Leo tbh

He can't go to certain areas or he'll start to hear the hunter yelling in his face again, like a hallucination

It's gotten a little bit better over time but the kraang set him so far back

He was also already claustrophobic, but if anyone tries to hold him down now he just immediately throws them off

And hard

Anything that really reminds him too much of the past he just starts freaking out

So he doesn't like to be alone :)

I could do a separate post for this maybe

But moving on

Any early 2000s song from anyone or any 2000 themed song is his SHIT

They did a karaoke night and he did Brittany spears ( yes I know that's like late 90s but yk THAT CATEGORY )

He put on a blonde wig tho and was actually kinda feeling it at some point

So if really anyone has some sort of mental thing going on he's there

Even for Leo ( even tho Leo didn't really want his help, that quickly changed tho, again I'll just put this in his section✨ )

But Mikey has these really bad panic attacks that even his brothers don't know about

Only splinter and drax

Splinter is there to comfort him and drax is there to let him talk about it

Mikey doesn't want his brothers to know because he's technically the "therapist" so splinter and drax will never tell anyone

The TMNT have done crossovers with themselves many times at this point since the introduction of a TMNT multiverse into the series canon. 

The earliest TMNT crossover is from Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 2 #58 “All Tomorrow’s Yesterdays” (5/20/2009) The villain of this mini arc- Galactos- shatters reality which briefly shows a glimpse into the multiverse. The panel includes: Mirage TMNT #1, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, The Mighty Mutanimals, and one that’s either supposed to be TMNT 2003 or 2007. (The inclusion of Mirage #1 is a bit confusing though- as the turtles in Tales of the TMNT are the same characters as the Mirage turtles) 

On November 21st 2009 “Turtles Forever” was released for the franchises 25th anniversary and as a series finale movie for the TMNT 2003 show. In this movie the turtles from the 1987 Cartoon, the TMNT 2003 cartoon, and the Mirage turtles have to team up to stop Shredder from destroying the multiverse. In the scene pictured above almost every version of TMNT is shown. 

The movie couldn’t get the original voice actors to voice the 1987 turtles because 4Kids doesn’t work with union VAs which included the original 1987 voices.

One thing that they did do to make the 1987 part of the show seem authentic was to give the animators the original character models for both the turtles and other characters. 

The movie aired on TV edited with about 8 minutes cut from it, this is also the version released on R1 DVD, the 4Kids website at the time and R2 DVDs have the uncut version of the movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 “Trans-Dimensional Turtles” (S4 E10 3/27/2016) Is the first crossover that TMNT 2012 did. The 1987 turtles and the 2012 turtles get transported to each others worlds and have to stop Krang from destroying their worlds. Also the Mirage turtles show up for a little bit! 

Also from TMNT 2012 was the 3 part mini arc that was aired as the series finale (S5 E18-20). The 1987 turtles and the 2012 turtles work together to stop Shredder and Krang.

These 3 episodes were aired as the series finale but were originally produced as episodes 12, 13, and 14. 

Mirage Raphael shows up in a surprise appearance during Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2 (6/5/2019). I’ve not read this one myself but online information says that Batman, the TMNT, and Mirage Raph are trying to stop Krang who just got his hands on some new technology.

So I wanted to do another take on something with TMNT! I had so much love with the previous one, so I wanted to say Thank You!

Now on to what I want to talk about his the concept of a “Teenager”. Mind you I am a HUGE NERD & FAN! Of TMNT always have been and forever will be.

Although I do have my constructive criticism here and there. Because I watched all of them from the old comics, to the first series and movie. All the way to basically… Now lol

As everyone know the lovely TMNT had another movie called, “Mutant Mayhem.” I will say it’s cute and all and them trying to do something different. I’m not going to over hype it, it was nice. It wasn’t like bad.

But the main thing I didn’t like(mind you it’s just an opinion lol), is them saying there finally TEENAGERS! Like they look,act, and voice by actual teenagers.

Now being voiced by real teenagers is cool and a nice difference. But look and act like teenagers, from all the ones I watch they ALWAYS act like teenagers when they aren’t in fight mode.

Lol here me out Most teenagers look different and act different in there own ways. Through my time when I use to be in Highschool, when I use to be a Teenager. I seen some teenagers that look like adults! Like some of them I couldn’t believe was in my school and mistook them as someone that wasn’t a student. There are also some that look like little kids that are high schoolers and act like kids. So looking and acting like a teenager is relative.

Me saying that is taking into the account of when people were talking about the design of the 2014 & 2016 TMNT film

Mind you to me teenage age begins from 13-20 at the least 13 more so leaving out of your middle schooler phase into a Highschooler.

TMNT 2014-2016 - They gave me the age of 18-19 yrs. old based on there look and behavior. Especially Mikey, but they are still categorized as a Teenager. With sometimes Teenage behavior like all of them show at time.

TMNT 2003 - They gave me 16 or 17 year old vibes they were jokable and played a lot. Even certain serious times depending on how serious. But still Teenagers.

TMNT 2018-2019 - They gave me 14-15 year old vibes. They play around and immature a lot of times even during majority of serious moments.

TMNT MUTANT MAYHEM - They gave me 13 year old vibes. Turtles slowly or just started to enter there teenage year and trying to come out of that middle schooler energy type phase.

All in all they were STILL TEENAGERS! This isn’t the first movie where they are and act like teenagers. They always do at certain time, but as you grow older and at the stage of leaving from those teenage tendencies. You act a bit more mature.

Now I didn’t age range all of them, that’s because these were the best examples to really gauge there characters. Because these were really good, different, unique adaptations. The ones I didn’t mention were similar to the ones above as well.

Now again this is just my opinion, and I don’t be bias for a specific TMNT. But a fair analysis over all of them, I won’t say what TMNT adaptation is better. I do enjoy the 2003 but I love all of them as I watched all of them across, and one may have something another is lacking and so on. So it’s hard to say what is better, each one has it’s own flavor and spice. That one person may like it and another may not, and that’s completely fine.

I just don’t like when people say this recent movie, this is the first time they’re teenagers. Probably the first time voiced by teenagers(Kudos with that). But this is not the first they act like one.

Because they act like teenagers in each adaptation, just possibly a different teenager age range or just another kind of teenager.

I love TMNT, and always will. Every TMNT is great to me in it’s own way, and any and everyone is free to agree or disagree. :>

2009-10: 8-9 yr/o

I loved old cartoons and made Looney Tunes style comics with OC’s like; Tom the Cat, and the Cartoon Law Police.

2011-12: 10-11 yr/o

Anime influence sets in, I start defining the head from the neck. I got really into MLP and drew a lot of that. Also made my half-fairy half-witch mechanic OC.

2013: 12 yr/o

Anime style gets even more set in. Bodies become more proportional, heads less dorito shaped. My Gw2 art started a little here. I also made more (Self-insert) OCs.

2014: 13 yr/o

Got a tablet and started some digital art. A lot of Warriors art because I had written a fanfic, (and ran a Cinderpelt/Heart ask blog). Also got a blender pencil and learned how to shade

2015: 14 yr/o

SO Much Art this year! Probably related to my realization I could draw people who were not white (like I was). A lot of new OCs, also the start of my Splatoon Phase. No digital art (It got lost :( )

Splatoon phase is in full force now. My style moves away from anime as I focus more on facial features (Drawing noses my beloved). I realized I was gay and so were my OCs, (thank you Undyne Undertale). Also got really into Star Wars again (thank you Clone Wars) 

Favorite things to draw: My Inkling OCs, Undyne, Ahsoka, My Cat and Rabbit OCs (Tajiri and Alkita) 

2017: 16 yr/o

OCs Galore! Now with stories! I made SO Many new OCs this year, my universe of elves, gay royals, a magical girl and magical boy. Things also got very gay and trans this year. I humanized my Splatoon OCs because I phased out of that. 

Favorite things to draw: Elves, Mira and Lillian (Splat OCs), Gay and Trans people (a new constant in my art) 

2018: 17 yr/o

Made a whole new roster of Monster OCs for a (hypothetical) dating sim. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hyperfixation comes back with a vengeance, but drawing turtles is hard so I make a human AU (no set era, an amalgamation of all versions + my own characterizatoins) This is also the start of some Floppy drawings in my sketchbook 👀?

Favorite things to draw: Human TMNT, Monster OCs, Monster High characters. 

2019: 18 yr/o

Even more TMNT and Monsters, though things start to slow down and most of my sketches are in my school sketchbook.

2020: 19 yr/o

Was simultaneously a Very bad and Very good year for art. Lots of finished pieces for my Portfolio, but also a lot of Struggle. Started my Gw2 blog though!

2021: 20 yr/o

This year was rough at the start, I think this blog is what kept me going. It was nice to have an outlet to talk about OCs (No longer trapped in Google Docs)
