Can someone please explain to me why villains get all the worshipping and the antagonists all the hate ???

I know a lot of fandoms where this happens and I'm sorry but it drives me mad.

Worshipping a villain bc they're hot, have a tragic backstory, etc ? Ofc you can worship them if you want !!

But don't come to me saying you hate or want dead/hurt the antagonist just because they don't agree with the mc or they don't trust them blindly.

Maybe they have done bad things or taken bad decisions but everyone has their flaws yk

TMF Popularity Poll Winners!! Ft. TMF comic

( for context I did a poll with 89 voters who contributed answering the question “who is your favourite character from TMF” and the top two winners I’ll draw fanart for )

1st: is Drew!! With over one third of the votes going to him.

2nd: Is Jake! There was a lot of competition with Hailey for 2nd though.

This means the fanart will be some PlumPeach content:)

3rd: is Joint with Hailey and Sean who did way better than expected!

4th: Milly who was a little higher than expected but nothing crazy.

5th: Is joint with Henry and Zander who both got surprising low despite high predictions.

6th: Stacy who I didn’t realise was popular enough to get 3 votes.

7th: Luke who absolutely crushed his predictions by having only a couple of votes landing him second last.

8th: Zoey, let’s be honest we’re not surprised.

I have to say, I don't understand people who say Stacy needs more screen time, or more depth, or anything similar. She's not a main character, she's not in the main cast, it's not required for her to have a full-on backstory. Obviously it's fine to like her and wish she had more screen time, but overall she was kind of just there as a plot device for one episode, just to help Lander happen. She was never intended to be a major important character in the show, or a character with any depth. Again, hoping she gets more screen time is fine, but it gets too far when you're calling it poor character writing for her not to have more.

No joke I don't get Stacy lovers since all she did was drop books, get Luke to help her, and kiss him without consent, but at the same time I can't blame y'all since I loved Elliot long before the spin-off was even brought up as an idea in the first place. Stacy lovers you do you frfr I just don't GET you (though loving a mostly flat character solely because of headcanons is SOOO real)

I swear to god I definitely remember some Sean (tmf) x reader fanfic which Sean is like a yandere and kills drew and like kidnaps the reader and like keeps her captive and shit I kinda also remember some intense smut like it was already intense you know 👉👌i was already grossed out since you know Sean is a gacha character but everything took a weird turn when he stabbed the reader until she was dead and continued doing stuff to her dead body some fucked up shit like that. It might be some fever dream if it is I wish I never had that dream but if it is I would like to know.I had but I drew some fan art for the fan-fic.
