I know in fanart everyone always depicts Eyepocalypse-Daisy as a werewolf sort of thing, but I've always thought the idea of her being still physically human (as much as anyone can be when an avatar) throughout the whole thing infinitely more unsettling and HEAR ME OUT.

The Hunt with which Daisy is affiliated was never a fear of the physicality of the predator itself, but the way in which it pursues and kills. Not the sight of the claws themselves but the fact that they extend towards you, etc etc. That unwavering persistence and senseless, but uncontrollable, cruelty we see in her in S5, mixed with her obvious humanity seen in how she calls out to Basira, when the others find her is so much more horrifying when you imagine her exactly as she was physically before.

This is especially the case when you imagine things from Basira's perspective.

Imagine, you've worked with a partner for years, supported each other (so much so as to indulge each other's harmful behaviour and abuse of power). You do your best to ignore the terrible things she does in the name of justice, even when it becomes woefully apparent that this is spurred on by an actual fear god feeding on her actions. You watch her try to resist it, then fail to do so in order to protect you and the others around you.

The world goes to capital-H-Hell, and you spend all your days looking for her to fulfill your promise to kill her.

It is the least you can do, after all.

It was the last thing she ever asked of you.

You expect that there will be nothing left of the woman you knew when it comes to it, that it will be an inhuman husk with no memories of you or anything other than The Hunt. But then you find her, and she's still her. Bloody and bestial, yes, but unmistakably her. And worst of all, your prick of a friend (love you Jon) just ealirer let you know that she is perfectly content. She is happy like this, and most harrowing of all, she recognises you. She wants you to join her.

And you realise that her request to kill her was not, will never be, the last thing she ever asked of you.

She extends a hand towards you, and it is the same hand you held before The Change.

And you kill her. Not a creature that was once her, just her. There is no heroism in it, only a partner lost.

Still, nevertheless I love werewolf-Daisy too.

(Equally, the idea of a grown human woman gnawing on someones leg is kind of hilarious, or Floridian, but I digress.)

More ideas for my DE x TMA crossover thingy: instead of Skills, Jon has the Fears (and there is a reason for this). I was wondering if instead of being called their more well-known names, they'd be something less obvious, bc Jon has no clue as to what these voices are yet. Maybe the Hunt could be called "Chase"/"Pursuer"/"Wolf"/"Hound"....

Would c!Technoblade be an avatar of the Hunt or the Slaughter?

I could see an argument made for either, and honestly I think it depends on what aspects of his character you want to highlight.

The best arguments for the Hunt comes from the DSMP, where he’s specifically stated to only really wants to kill those who pose a threat to humanity as a whole (ie: his belief that all governments will become tyrannical and will only cause harm in the long run) or those who have hurt him and/or his allies (“Those who have treated me with kindness? I will repay that kindness tenfold. And those that treat me with injustice, that used me, that hunt me down, that hurt my friends? I shall repay that injustice a thousand times over.). It could be argued that he rarely, if ever, kills people for no reason. He also has the animal association with his hound army (and by being a pig).

The best arguments for the Slaughter comes from his reputation in MCC, MCM, and similar pvp focused games/servers. His ability to enter a battle outnumbered and outgunned and still come out the other side victorious cannot be understated. Anyone facing him in battle knows to be afraid. In any game where he is on a team, he almost always has the highest kill count, sometimes more than his entire team combined. No one can dispute the amount of blood on his hands, all of it gained with a laugh and a cheer.

Also Chat could be argued to be the call of either the Hunt or the Slaughter, although the phrase “blood for the blood god” does feel more Slaughter leaning to me.

How about a TMA episode about a very, very, VERY unsettling MotoGP weekend? A statement from a spectator, or maybe a journalist. A beautiful Italian circuit (built almost on top of an ancient hippodrome mysteriously unnoticed by archaeologists). Everything started with small blink and you'll miss it things - plastic chairs on grandstand looking as if made of stone, a strange marble object appearing at the center of the track and no one paying it any mind. The riders appear agitated and way too reckless for a Friday. Then everything gets really weird. Crashes, and quite scary ones, nasty and downright crazy moves on the track, and everyone cheering and acting as if it's nothing. Medics and marshals not even coming to those who fell. Someone immediately jumping on a damaged bike with a clearly dislocated limb, and no one bats an eye. Fire and smoke. Bloody smiles in post-quali interviews. When on Sunday instead of an anthem, a black horse is killed right on the grid, it's not even weird anymore. The Arena awakes, and the race must start. Red glow from under visors, blood pooling around the marble taraxippos.
