So I relistened to MAG039 because I was thinking of a silly moment from it (ghost Martin :3) and wanted to go back to it
And let me tell you
Now that I have the ability to differentiate between character voices and I can understand their tones and speaking mannerisms better
I can finally see how FUNNY Tim Stoker is
And I know on the relisten of the whole series I’m going to be so much more devastated at everything that happens (to literally everyone) because now I’m so much more connected

You know, I don't think we've discussed enough the fact that when all the worms broke through the wall and entered the archives, Jon froze. Sasha was pleading for him in the background to take charge and tell them all what to do, but it was Martin who took the reins and lead them to document storage where they would be safe. Martin is much better at making split-second decisions than Jon is--and while he'd probably argue it was only to protect them, he's better at leading than he gives himself credit for.

Being in a household where multiple people listen to TMA means occasionally hearing muffled Jon screams from somebody's headphones. This is a normal part of my life.

in hindsight the most breaking line in TMA is 'I may not entirely trust my assistants but I'm not going to lose them"

I love Jon so much. He had one heart to heart with his coworker and then immediately asked him if he was dead.

I'm rewatching Gravity Falls and going insane over the parallels between Stan and Jon.
"Kid, I've always known. I'm not an idiot, Dipper, of course this town is weird! And the one thing I know about that weirdness is that it's dangerous! I've been lying to you about it to try to keep you away from it, to try to protect you!"

periodic reminder that Jon was not being stupid and in supreme denial of the statements and the supernatural in s1. he fully believed everything the entire time. he was just pretending not to and playing the role of skeptic because he felt like whatever was watching them would "know" he was afraid otherwise.
