"Hey, Russet!" Despite making an attempt, Sun isn't good at whispering in the middle of the night. "Russet! Are you asleep? Russet!"
Sun was very much, not good at whispering. It was more impressive how he hadn’t woken anyone else up. The insomniac opened her eyes and lazily flailed a hand in Sun’s general direction. “No, no I’m not... I was trying, but that’s not happening.”
How’d he even get in here?
“What’s up? Other than... y’know you?”

@caeloservare liked for a starter (and my brain finally let me write it)
Haven’s halls were much different from Shade’s. The large open hallways and overarching balconies left plenty of space for people to go to and from classes. It felt strange to be here doing festival preparations that weren’t the Vytal festival, especially with it closely around the corner. Mistral seemed to have it’s own culture that was adamant to be shared.
In her spare time, Russet had been on a personal mission. A few days had passed with her meandering around, asking the student body a few questions here and there. Being a visiting student had it’s challenges, but Russet’s charisma often gave her an easy pass to being a pleasant stranger.
Eventually the woman spotted who she was described to be looking for. Quickening her pace to meet them, Russet approached with a warm smile and curious expression. “Excuse me but you wouldn’t happen to be the agents of chaos I’ve heard so much about?”

@breaknecktrainwreckadel X
So apparently Coco got riled up when you challenged her care in appearance. Being blind had it’s benefits apparently. Still, if Coco was one to talk a lot, this would make this little sparring session all the more easier for the faunus.
“Well I guess it’s too bad for you that I’ll never know.” Chroma quipped, giving her knuckles a quick crack as she stood across from Coco. “Anyway, doesn’t change the fact you were late, and I’ve only got so many free sparring slots in a day.”
Now being one of the on call Vytal Festival sparring partners was not the most ideal way to get to know people. Especially when it came to how Chroma approached social interaction, but it was better than not trying at all. Luckily for her the easiest thing to echo off of other people was sass. Coco was full of it.
She checked quickly to make sure Last Chime was armed. “Now are you wanting to work on anything specific for your round two, or am I just being a general asshole today?”

“You got me, and I’m not so bad, right?” (Chroma)
The bat faunus groaned. People being genuinely nice to her meant she couldn’t sass them back or be sarcastic. Of course Riordan would claim that’s how he always was, but forgive the woman for being skeptical. Random job partners was something she preferred because people just wanted the results, dead Grimm, but no, not Riordan. He liked socializing.
“I guess not.” She admitted with a begrudging sigh. “Few people know my Shade reputation and don’t immediately try something or just shy themselves away.”
Riordan was technically ahead of her by at least a year. At least she got stuck on a job with someone who used a violin as a weapon, and that eased her aura use in order to see. Granted neither of them could see in the dark.
“Did you bring a flash light this time?”

“Door’s locked, lights are off… snacks are here, what’s next?” (Russet)
“Alright so this is how it’s gonna work.” Russet began, putting two empty cups next to the two of them. “It’s double musical movie marathon. Now us being the educated theater students that we are...”
The woman gestured to the two cups, then pulled out ten lien and stuck it down on the empty space between them.
“Call this the Singing Stand-Off. Every time someone sings along you put ten lien in the other cup. Every single time.” She looked at Riordan with a devious grin, waiting to see the horror on his face. “Winner has the most money. You have one movie and I got one. Deal?”

(breaknecktrainwreckadel) 💢 Screaming into a pillow
Insomnia was a bitch and no matter how exhausted she felt, Russet was having a night she couldn’t sleep. She had slunk off to the Beacon library to try at at least do something with the time while being awake. She couldn’t remember if a curfew was in effect, but she had brought a pillow just in case.
She was two book in on ballistics engineering when she face planted into the soft cushion and just groaned loudly into it. Once Russet looked back up, she froze, seeing a fashionable second year student looking at her with a probably judgemental face.
Did Coco wear those sunglasses everywhere?
“Er... hi...?” Was all she could manage, unsure of how late it was. “I didn’t expect a soul in here...”

"Ready for another round?" // she totally said it like that on purpose I have no control over I'm sorry lol
To say Delaney wasn’t ever so slightly suspicious of Yang’s phrasing would have been a lie. Since Delaney looked tired at any given moment of his life, he could feign ignorance quite easily. This didn’t mean the faunus wasn’t actually tired, as he was starting to wear down from a few back to back rounds of sparring. Delaney hadn’t the same speed Yang had.
“If you don’t want me to do anything else today then sure.” He answered stretching out both of his arms. “However it’s up to you really. I’m not gonna waste whatever time you’re spending on me.”
He still felt bad that he was taking Yang’s time away from her own studies, despite any and all protests she had made. Delaney took the quick quiet moment he had to check his Scroll. No messages, but he did take a peek at the time.
“It is almost six in the evening.”

🗣 Pissed off. They aren’t sure why. It might be because someone breathed at them the wrong way and if one more person tries talking to them they’re going to SNAP —
It was a cool, quiet night. What time it was, she had no idea. All Chroma had on her mind was frustration and rage. It was a night that had tilted her over the edge, and her typical means of suppressing it weren’t working. So out in the middle of a forest that she was told to have Grimm lurking in it was where she was. The woman was brimming with negativity and it would draw a few to her presence at any moment now.
She had wandered for perhaps an hour or so without the rest of her team knowing, noting the differences between home and Vale. There weren’t trees to perch on in Vacuo. The endless deadly expanse added risk to this way of coping. Was it healthy? No. Did it stop her from doing it to feel better? Absolutely not. If anything, the outside of Vale was safer. Normal fauna left you alone on this continent. In Vacuo it was a free for all between Grimm, people, wildlife and the environment.
Then a sound made her pause in thought and one of her ears twitch. She could hear the sound of something drawing near. It didn’t sound like the demons she was so prepared to slay... no it sounded like footsteps. Strange footsteps.
Chroma didn’t need a person here. Not now.
This was the only warning she could give, and she had the vitriol in her tone to emphasize her point. “You’ve got about six seconds to turn around before you get caught in a crossfire you’re going to regret being in.”

❛ a pretty face doesn’t guarantee a pretty heart. ❜ / Uhhh idk wildcard time
Delaney raised a single eyebrow at the rather feisty woman. “True, but pretty faces tend to have the most with hidin’ in my experience.”
Then again, there was Delaney: human appearing faunus who looked tired, unmotivated and sleepy all the time. He was another one of these looks can be deceiving folks.
“Forgive me if this is assumin’ but aren’t you Miss Schnee?”

“Excuse me? What?”
“I take it you’re the rushed emergency back up?”
There wasn’t much time to speak between firing at Beowolves in the forest. After this one had fallen, Russet might have had a brief moment to explain the situation here just outside the walls of Vale. The Grimm hoard was just a little bigger than anticipated and it had the rest of her team spread out pretty thin.
The beast lunged and with a twist of the wrist, the once gun was now a long bladed dagger, that was now going to sit nicely between the eyes of the Grimm. Once Russet hit her mark, and the enemy was confidently dead, she turned around.
“Hi, name’s Russet, nice to meet you!”

"I could elaborate... but I won't," says Fox to Chroma like the little shit he is.
Not that either of them could see it, but Chroma squinted in the general direction of Fox. “Oh we’re going to play that kind of game, huh?”
It was a bit of a relief that Chroma could flex her sarcasm at this level. The two of them had a similar sense of humour, among other things that were shared traits between the two. The pair of them had found a quieter space at Beacon, not too far from the training grounds to have what appeared to be an interesting talk. Normally the faunus wasn’t this comfortable with people she had not known for a long time, but circumstances lined up way too well.
“If you’re going to play vague about your fancy pager,” referring to Ada that she had heard a few times before. “I’m going to eventually figure it out.”

"Dust, is this why your group's called IPRI? You haven't stopped minding my business since I walked through the door." Holly Thorn, trying to get one Olivine Snapdragon to calm down.
Olivine stared blankly at the boisterous Holly, wondering what her emphatic mood was for this time. Unfortunately now she was forced to interrupt her Dust experiment on her desk.
“It’s called the International Persons and Relations Initiative, and how you found out about that I really do need to ask you about. That’s not public information, Holly.”

“ that may be the first time in my life a man dared insult me. ”
Chroma glared daggers at the rather persistent faunus. Sun didn’t want to seem to leave her well enough alone, but this was goading. She knew goading when she heard it. Everyone always got their one though. There would be one opportunity for the annoying simian to leave her alone on this stray rooftop in the middle of Vale.
“If you thought that was an insult, I pity your lack of perception.” She retorted, practicing trigger restraint with Last Chime on her arm. The weapon was always prepared for combat, even during these off Beacon campus times. Also, Chroma never went anywhere without some sort of grappling hook.
The bat faunus stood up and looked in Sun’s general direction, a simple trigger pull away from a tether being stuck between them. “Listen I don’t do this sparring thing for free, and I’m off the clock, so you can kindly piss off.”
Chroma wasn’t at Beacon, she was on some building rooftop in the middle of the night. If Sun wanted a fight, she wasn’t going to play fair.
