#Titanic110 #Titanic Titanic1912 #RMSTitanic #RMSTitanic1912 #TitanicSinking #SinkingOfTheTitanic #TitanicWreck #WreckOfTheTitanic #TheTitanic https://www.instagram.com/p/Ccdv4OsOOy8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Wishing those who celebrate a blessed Passover. For the Passover/Easter weekend I'm kicking off with a bottle of M & H Elements single malt whisky. This sherry cask Kosher whisky comes from Tel Aviv and is an interesting pour. It's not the sherry bomb you'd expect. This has a dry note and flavors of pepper, fruit, and creamy caramel. Interesting pour. Paired the bottle with a Plasencia Reserva Original cigar. .... On this day 110 years ago, April 15, 1912, the world woke to news that the White Star Line's newest ship, the RMS Titanic, had struck an iceberg late on the evening of April 14 and sank in the early morning hours of April 15 with the loss of more than 1,500 passengers and crew. The Cunard liner RMS Carpathia was able to reach the scene and rescue 705 survivors from 20 lifeboats. The sinking lead to major changes in the industry including the establishment or the International Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations and the International Ice Patrol. .... "There was peace and the world had an even tenor to it's way. Nothing was revealed in the morning the trend of which was not known the night before. It seems to me that the disaster about to occur was the event that not only made the world rub it's eyes and awake but woke it with a start keeping it moving at a rapidly accelerating pace ever since with less and less peace, satisfaction and happiness. To my mind the world of today awoke April 15th, 1912."  -Jack B. Thayer, Titanic Survivor .... #titanic #titanic110 #onthisday #thisdayinhistory #cigar #CigarLover #CigarAfficionado #cigarphoto #cigarsnob #cigarlife #cigarsmoke #plasenciacigars #cigarsandwhisky #TapThatAsh #whisky #singlemalt #milkandhoneywhisky #sherrycask #whiskyphoto #WhiskyLover #WhiskyAfficionado #WhiskyNeat #whiskylife #whiskyandhistory #quote #quotestagram (at Coastal San Pedro) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcZNwTSJrWx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

April 15 - 20, 1912: In the days following Titanic’s sinking, hundreds of articles about the ship and its sinking were plastered on front pages across the world. Although the use of telegraphs allowed news to spread quickly, early reports had very little accurate information, including a few claiming that no lives were lost. As the true story began to unfold following Carpathia’s arrival in New York, newspapers began to include survivor accounts and report accurate information about the disaster. Titanic’s sinking remains one of the most widely reported peacetime maritime disasters in the modern era

April 14, 1912: Titanic received a total of 9 iceberg warnings throughout the day. The flat waters and long range of visibility lulled the crew into thinking they’d see anything large enough to be dangerous in time to divert; Titanic continued sailing at its top speed of nearly 22 knots
