I actually think it's extremely heartbreaking to know that Twisted Wonderland and the lostbelts all share a theme of futility and failure.

Lostbelt 6 reinforces this. The Fae Knights took on the names of Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan because, at their core, they wanted to protect and love their people and yet they were never going to succeed because Beryl couldn't give a half a fuck. They ere never going to succeed because of their nature.

And in some ways, Crowley's neglect mirrors Beryl's, though I want to clarify that Beryl's neglect comes from the realization that humanity would not survive a hell he purposefully created and realized he wasn't going to be spared.
