Madam Pomfrey found them both fast asleep, snuggled up in the hospital bed. She didn’t have the heart to wake them up, so she put the green privacy curtains around them and left them to sleep off the full moon. 

Eventually, she had to wake them as the sun was beginning to dip to the other side of the sky. She provided them with a plate of sandwiches and a pitcher of pumpkin juice, along with two goblets. She then busied herself with her other duties. Sirius stared after her in awe. 

“You know what, Moony?” He asked as Remus stuffed another ham sandwich into his mouth whole. Unable to answer, Remus shrugged his shoulders. “I have a new found love for that woman.” He took a sip from his goblet. “In fact, I think you could say I am smitten with her. She is a goddess, and I’ll have no one say anything harsh about her.” Remus snorted. 

“What like yourself, who, if I remember correctly, called her a sallow-faced old titan.” Sirius hurriedly stuffed another sandwich into Remus’s mouth. 

“Hush, she might hear you, and I can’t have her know it wasn’t love at first sight!” Remus choked down what was in his mouth. 

“You leaving me for Poppy then?” He asked, trying to hide the smile creeping across his face. 

“Oh. But if she’d only have me. But alas, you��re stuck with me, Remus, my love.” Remus kissed him chastely before grabbing another sandwich. 

“I can do stuff for you that Poppy Pomfrey would lose her head overhearing” Sirius was suddenly on top of him. “That quickly your love for Pomfrey is gone?” Remus laughed under Sirius’s many kisses. 

“Pomfrey, who? I only have eyes for my Moony.” 

Madam Pomfrey promptly threw them out when she caught them messing about, and they made their way back up to Gryffindor Tower hand in hand.

Ren build guide!

OK, confession. I picked up Ren on release in 3.3, and kind of fell off building him. But when I was pulling for Pix's signature on his release, I lost the 50/50 to Ren's weapon, and I've been building him. He is SO much fun to play. Ren is a 5* cryo catalyst DPS who takes Hermitopia materials, so make sure you have Hermitopia fully unlocked.

PROS: Does HUGE damage with the right team, lax rotations, is a catalyst (yes this is a pro ok)

CONS: Huge investment time to make him viable for endgame content, best team is basically all limited characters, is cryo

Here's my guide on how to build him and what an ideal rotation would look like on his best modern team!

✦✦✦ Explaining the kit ✦✦✦

◇ Basic Attack: Ancient Art

Shoots a ranged homing ice-bolt 4 times. I've found that the homing AI on this thing is pretty accurate, even for overworld puzzles. Charged attack does an AoE.

◇ (E) Skill: Telltale Heart

Does a small amount of AoE cryo DMG and buffs Ren's charged attack. The buff can stack up to 3 times, and the skill has a short cooldown.

◇ (Q) Burst: Winter is Coming

Big AoE cryo DMG, different effects depending on how many stacks of Creeping (his skill buff) he has.

One stack: Significantly decreases Ren's stamina consumption

Two stacks: Significantly increases charged ATK DMG

Three stacks: Decreases the CD for the burst by half and increases the effective time

◇ Passives

Color of Despair: When releasing a charged ATK, releases 4 homing shots that additionally hit nearby enemies.

Blood of Angry Men: When Ren's burst buff is active and the burst is activated again, triples the buffs instead of doubling them

Luck Be With Ye: Has a chance to double talent book production and reduces the cost of crafting them

C1: Decreases Ren's general stamina consumption (running, climbing, gliding, swimming, etc) when skill buff is active

C2: Charged ATKs ignore a percentage of enemies DEF

C4: Increases the DMG of the homing shots in Ren's 1st ascension passive

C6: For every 1% of Ren's CDMG above 100%, buffs his overall DMG by 5%, capping at 750% (250 CDMG)

Obviously C6 is insane, but C2 is also a good value. C6 > C2 > C1 > C4

4pc Lorefinder is his signature set for a good reason. A good interim set if you have the pieces is 2pc Lorefinder, 2pc Moonbase. If you're running 4pc Lorefinder, go for a CDMG circlet instead of a CR one, since the Lorefinder stacks will more than compensate for about 6-7 good CR substat rolls.

Sands: ATK%

Goblet: Cryo DMG bonus

Circlet: CR=CDMG

Substat priority: CR=CDMG > ATK% >>> EM (if running on a reverse melt team) > everything else

ER goal: 150% (120% if running with another cryo that generates particles or with Divine Rights)

He's a pretty traditional crit DPS. The suck thing about getting his artifacts is that Lorefinder is in a domain with the Ambivalence set, which is incredibly useless unless you are specifically building a character like Stress or Joey.

✦✦✦ Weapons ✦✦✦

Ok, I'm biased, but Ren's signature weapon is by far his best option. Gives charged ATK bonus, has a CDMG main stat, gives a CR bonus, and increases his DMG significantly after using his burst. Other than that, there aren't a lot of really good cryo specific catalyst weapons. R5 Destroya (3* gacha) might actually be his best comparable weapon. A lot of the catalysts we have right now are really EM reliant, and Ren is not.

✦✦✦ Talent Priority ✦✦✦

Basic ATK > Burst > Skill

9/7/7 or 9/7/8 is a fine option since his skill scaling doesn't really matter at 8 or 9. It leaps a huge amount between 9 and 10, but if you're not planning on triple crowning him, 9/7/7 works just fine.

✦✦✦ Team Comps ✦✦✦

Ren Premium DPS - Ren as the on field DPS, Grian as the off field pyro applicator and support, Scott for the cryo battery and support, and Martyn as sub-dps/sustain/swirl. This is Ren's current best team

Ren f2p DPS - Ren, Katherine, Jimmy, and a flex sustain like Netty or Cryo False. Jimmy works well as a sub-dps here since he won't steal melts from Ren but still do good DMG and buffing, and the resonance make's Katherine better and buffs Ren's DMG. False doesn't do a lot of particle generation, but the resonance is nice for Ren and she does fine as a sustain.

Ren Superconduct/phys - OK this is a stupid team, but on the new catalyst Force of Personality, Ren can do some really funny physical dmg. Run him on 2 or 4pc Reactor, swap around his goblet, have Cleo or Xisuma (or both) to enable superconduct, bring a healer that can proc FoP's passive, and watch Ren do really funny phys numbers. I ran abyss with this recently and I died badly but it was so so funny to watch him bitchslap enemies.

Beyond the Timelines 7: The Grand Plan

The Loki variants hatch a plan to save Mobius

(Warnings: Comic and Movie Spoilers)

Every powerful Loki variant sat in the war room, the most powerful…that being Necrogod Loki, sat at the head of the table with his right hand man, President Loki. Every Loki variant that lived within the palace Iokl created began to argue.

“There’s no way that psycho is working with Thanos!!”

“That poor variant…”

“Yes, but he can’t stay. That Loki could lead Thanos straight to us.”

“Why yes, let’s kick out one of the possibly newer most powerful variant we have had since Iokl…no offense.”

Iokl sighed softly as they rubbed their forehead.

“He’s similar to me, being the god of stories…but that’s about it, other then the obvious appearance and green coloration…”

“I see…”

The meeting was originally scheduled to discuss how they could help Loki find Mobius, but the topics quickly switched from Mobius to Thanos to Old King Loki’s betrayal, Loki and back to Thanos with even OG Loki commenting that he didn’t fully trust Old King Loki to not betray them all and work with Thanos. No one could agree on anything at all. Many variants began to attempt to point blame on each other as Iokl and OG Loki stared at each other out of exhaustion. With OG being the very very first Loki being born and Iokl being the most op of the group with his Story Creation powers that he gained from Now and Then. Everything was just absolute chaos.

“FOR ALL WE KNOW, THIS NEW LOKI COULD BE A THREAT!!”

“EVERY LOKI COULD ME A THREAT, YOU IDIOT! WE’RE LOKIS!!!”

“ENOUGH!!!”

Classic Loki stared in amazement at Iokl’s outburst. He knew Iokl was usually calm and quiet, reading some sorta book during their meetings as they listened carefully to the others’ conversation…so for them to shout at everyone to be quiet was very out of character…even if he was the god of stories.

“We need to be more careful with this variant…he’s still very fragile. The only thing on his mind is his little TVA Agent boyfriend…”

Necrogod Loki chuckled as he gently lifted his goblet of wine and began to sip as he kept quiet.

“We need a plan.”

“Agreed.”

“So let’s get right to it.”

Iokl smirked as they used their magic to make a war map of Asgard, displaying Mobius with Thanos’ arm wrapped around his neck. The others looked over at Iokl as they smiled and watched them stare at the display.

“Now…Thanos is a very strong titan, he’s not gonna let anyone get past him…”

“So we need to sneak up behind him.”

“Mhm…sounds easy.”

“So what’s next?”

“…we need to make him let go of Mobius.”

“Sounds easy.” Iokl blurted out.

“Uhh…no, no it’s not.”

“We’re Lokis, damnit!” OG Loki interrupted.

The room fell silent for a moment as Loki entered, noticing the map as he looked over the table.

“Loki…”

“I-I know. I know…”

He reached out to the Mobius figure before pulling it away.

“…I want to find him.”

“We need a plan first.”

Loki pulled up a chair and sat between OG Loki and Iokl as he looked down at the scene.

“We can sneak up behind him.”

He nodded.

“How?”

“We fly behind him and push him forward.”

“Like he’ll actually fall for that.”

“We have multiple Lokis on our side…”

Loki shrugged as he continued to look down at the war plans.

“…so what do we do?”

“Sneak up behind him and have someone distract him.”

“And?”

“And trip him.”

Loki stood up.

“But he’ll crush Mobius!”

Iokl summoned a piece of string.

“Not if we make him drop Mobius.”

He swept the string under the figure’s legs, making the magical hologram trip on the strings as the figure flung Mobius up in the air and fall forward.

“Then I’ll catch Mobius…”

Iokl created a Loki figure as the illusion caught Mobius as Thanos fell flat on his face. OG smiled as he began to talk.

“Next we’ll pull Thanos off the bridge and make him fall, the titan will fall and…”

“Mobius will be safe.”

OG nodded, but everyone began to worry. It just felt easy…far too easy.

“Thanos is a strong man…”

Iokl scoffed.

“So are we…we’re strong too.”

OG nodded as he smiled, adjusting his helmet as he stared at the map.

“Yes…we are.”

Loki kept quiet as he looked down at his hands. He was a powerful sorcerer…but it wasn’t enough. Loki didn’t feel strong, he felt like he was…in hiding. He never got a satisfactory ending to his story. Finding out he was adopted, being mind controlled, imprisoned, losing Frigga to the dark elves and Odin after he said that he loved Loki, dying at Thanos’ hand, finding what he thought was love, losing said pathetic love, being abandoned once again, and now…he’s the lone God of Stories, holding the timelines together as he watched over Mobius. The memories began to anger Loki as everything began to line up…and all the blame was pointed at Thanos. Thanos caused his agony.

“So now what?”

“We go back in time.”

“But we all can’t go back…”

Iokl cleared his throat.

“Am I invisible?”

The variants smiled softly.

“Go on…”

Iokl summoned a portal as they muttered something under their breath as everyone geared up. Loki smiled softly he swallowed.

“Ready, Loki?”

Loki kept quiet.

“…genderfluid…”

“Hmm?”

“…I…I think I’m genderfluid. No I…I know I’m genderfluid.”

Iokl smiled brightly, his missing tooth adding charm to his smile.

“What made you decide to tell us?”

Loki chuckled as they flashed their signature smile.

“Thanos and Odin would always tell me that I shouldn’t say such things and keep it to myself…but…Thanos can’t control me anymore. I’m not going to let him control me anymore…I’m not going to let anyone control me anymore.”

Iokl nodded as the group decided on their weapons and choice of magic, Loki deciding to go with his usual daggers. Classic seemed a little annoyed that Loki didn’t seem to have learned anything, but he decided to just ignore this as they all focused on their mission.

“…I’m coming Mobius…”

“I’ll save you.”

Chapter 73 Writing Notes: The Coven Heads vs. Young Hunter

Hunter knew he should admonish Terra for calling him “pet”, he was the Golden Guard, for Titans sake! But then again … no one had ever spoken so freely about anyone else who had held the title before.

An attendant passed by with a tray of crystal goblets full of blood berry wine. Terra summoned a vine that reached out to pluck a glass from the tray. Surprised, the attendant’s balance was thrown off. The glasses fell to the ground in one sharp wave of sound. Immediately, the attendant witch drew a spell circle and summoned several small abominations to clean the mess.

Terra waved her off. She took a long sip of her drink and bent down to meet Hunter’s eyes through the mask.

“Oh of course they didn’t tell you, petal. Why would they?” The stench of alcohol on her breath snaked its way through the owl-esque eyeholes and permeated his nose.

“Terra.” Darius warned, “This is not a discussion that –”

In a previous chapter, Lilith had suggested that Hunter’s true nature as a grimwalker was a poorly kept secret. Possibly a “rumor” that Belos allowed to keep alive because it served him —

Osran for instance believed that grimwalker blood had much to do with the Evoldo Family’s success. And Kikimora, who definitely knew a lot is a distant cousin of Osran.

Lilith mentioned that each coven head likely made a deal with Belos upon their accession. Lilith’s was to cure Eda…

If the others had an inkling that Hunter was a pawn and part of a species considered “lesser”, it would lend to how much he was treated as a joke by his supposed colleagues.

And even though he did not know what he was at the time he became Golden Guard (11 in this story), he is always desperately looking for a connection to his lost family.

Seven sentence Sunday

Trying to regain the spark for my Titanic WIP! What better way to start than with seven sentence Sunday <3

Then, like a spark taking hold of dry kindling, one brave soul breaks into laughter and applause.

Soon, the room is filled with joyous noise - laughter, cheers, feet tapping and hands clapping to the beat.

A chorus of voices rises, joining the spirited pair and drowning out the distant rumbles of thunder as they belt out the words to a familiar tune: 

“The hearts of all the girls I'm a thorn in; But come the break of mornin’ it is they who'll be forlorn; For I'm off to Philadelphia in the mornin!”

Charles looks around, spotting the red-haired woman from earlier in the center of the crowd.

The one who had held up her battered tin mug like a fine crystal goblet, and toasted to making it count.

She’s dragged a hapless young man out of the crowd by the hand and is attempting to teach him a dance step.

The Temptation of Perturabo - Fulgrim x Perturabo - NSFW - TW: Noncon

Fulgrim comes to apologize to Perturabo during the events of Angel Exterminatus and Perturabo is seized by an urge to take what he wants from his brother. Too bad this is probably exactly how Fulgrim likes it. Dead Dove

I don't know how dead dove this really is but better safe than sorry. So yeah, really, rape is involved here, or at least someone thinking they're raping someone.

“Dear Brother, I wanted to apologize for any offense I’ve given you.” Perturabo felt his head already starting to pound at Fulgrim’s overly honeyed tone. It had been barely more than a Terran standard day since he’d nearly beat his brother to death, and yet here he was, come to his personal sanctum practically dripping saccharine platitudes.

Perturabo hardly looked up from where he was sorting pieces of the miniature Titan that had momentarily destroyed Fulgrim’s perfect face. He’d shed his armor in expectation of being alone, the ports and cable uplinks all that were left, unremovable reminders of it. Maybe they were signs that the creature in the armor was what he truly was. “Apology noted, get off my ship.” A thought sent the Iron Circle turning hostilely toward the Phoenician.

“Please, I do want to make sure things are resolved between us, I have no hard feelings about it.” Fulgrim wheedled and Perturabo sighed, finally actually turning his eyes up to his brother.

Fulgrim was also unarmored and wore nothing but a loose tunic of practically transparent lavender material. Perturabo could see the multitude of piercings adorning his skin and garish gold swirls of body paint. Even his eyelids and lips had been dusted with some sort of cosmetic, leaving them shimmering in the light. With an overly large smile, he held out a bottle of wine and two large goblets.“Have a drink with me.”

“Fine,” he growled knowing Fulgrim would only continue to whine and the Iron Circle let him pass. Gesturing to an empty table, he settled into a chair and waited for Fulgrim to sit across from him. “Only to show you I’ll keep my word and not kill you as soon as you’re vulnerable.”

“That’s the spirit.” He sunk into the chair, loose platinum hair framing his face like a halo, purple eyes shining with some mysterious mirth. A scent like flowers with an undercurrent of something acrid reached his nose. "Looks like my face did a number on your little toy," he said nonchalantly, pouring into one of the large goblets.

"It will be fixed." He took a sip of the glass Fulgrim handed him, feeling it burn, and wondering just where his brother had got it.

"I'm sure if there's anyone with the talent, it's you brother." As he shifted in his seat, one shoulder of the oversized tunic fell away, leaving his pale collarbone exposed.

"We're long past flattery," he tore his eyes from Fulgrim’s porcelain skin.

"I'm not trying to flatter," Fulgrim made a good show of sounding hurt.

"Then what are you doing?" His lack of patience with the seemingly endless schemes was evident in his tone.

A pale finger dipped into his wine glass and Fulgrim lasciviously sucked the drop from a fingertip. “Trying to keep you from remaining cross with me,” his voice was artfully soft and alluring.

Something in Perturabo stirred at the sound of it and he slammed his glass onto the table to squelch that thing. “You should’ve considered that before playing games with me.”

“Games, brother? I’m terribly sorry if you’ve misconstrued any of my actions.” He froze as he felt a foot tracing its way up his leg under the table. “Please, let me find a way to make it up to you.”

Perturabo swallowed another stinging drink. "Stop that."

Fulgrim’s laughter was musical. "You don't like it?" He did it again, this time caressing his thighs and nearly brushing against Perturabo’s manhood while draining his glass.

"No," he ground out. "It's time you went back to your ship."

Pouting, Fulgrim stood. "But I thought you appreciated things of beauty."

Both shoulders of the tunic had slipped away, and it hung from Fulgrim’s form obscenely leaving pierced nipples peeking from the neckline. Perturabo found himself wondering what they'd feel like between his fingers and what sounds Fulgrim would make as he toyed with them. Angrily he shook his head to clear away such thoughts. "Out," he ordered rising from his seat, but curiously the Iron Circle didn't react.

Moving in, he loomed over his brother who smiled maniacally up at him. "Or maybe I misjudged your eye for such things." Whatever scent Fulgrim had covered himself hung in the air like a miasma, overwhelming his senses.

Hands reached for Fulgrim almost of their own accord. Self-indulgent, obnoxious behavior was all he knew these days, perhaps it was time he was taught a different lesson than the one he'd tried the other day. Perturabo grabbed his throat in a crushing grip, rage and something else blacking out his vision. "You've misjudged something of me." Indulging his earlier impulse, he gripped one of the rings that hung from Fulgrim’s rosebud pink nipples and twisted harshly. Whatever noise he would’ve made was cut off by the hand on his throat, but it delighted Perturabo all the same and he felt himself stiffen. Why shouldn’t he take what had been so obviously proffered?

Releasing his throat, he switched his grip to that platinum mane Fulgrim had conveniently left free flowing, and forced him to turn around toward the table. With a shove he pressed one side of his face down into the table, leaving the other half visible. This time he didn’t want to destroy it, he wanted to watch it.

Yanking up the tunic, he exposed Fulgrim’s perfectly sculpted backside. "Brother, wait, what are you doing?" The slight note of panic in Fulgrim’s voice left him fully erect.

"Still correcting your behavior apparently." One hand tugged Fulgrim’s hair tight enough he yelped and the other worked to free the erection straining at his pants. “This is what you were trying to tempt me with, wasn’t it?” Silky smooth skin pressed against Perturabo where his pants had opened, irritatingly soft, typical of Fulgrim. The head of his cock rubbed against Fulgrim’s entrance, letting him properly comprehend exactly what Perturabo was going to do to him.

"Wait… I was only jesting. Perturabo, I'm sor-" He buried himself inside Fulgrim in one violent movement causing his words to be lost in a pained shout.

Perturabo relished the sound of it, let the insolent fop suffer. The thought of it caused him to twitch inside Fulgrim and he gave another brutal thrust. This time he made a sound that was pain tinted with pleasure and Perturabo raged. "You wanted it like this, you bastard."

"Mmm, perhaps," Fulgrim said, triumph in his tone.

This couldn't go unanswered. "Why?" Perturabo considered his next words carefully, yearning to cause hurt Fulgrim wouldn’t enjoy for the embarrassment of goading him to this. There was only one answer and he unleashed it like a targeted orbital bombardment. "Is this how Ferrus used to fuck you? Did he use you hard?"

"Don't you dare," Fulgrim spat venomously, and Perturabo laughed that he’d finally found a way to wound the Phoenician.

"I'll do as I wish, you're the one bent over the table getting fucked." He punctuated his words with another harsh thrust.

Fulgrim hissed in rage and Perturabo had never felt such lust. This is where his brother belonged, beneath him, making himself useful for once. He continued at a merciless pace, driving into Fulgrim over and over as he made delicious sounds of suffering. "Look at you, you're soft. Coming here, looking for what no one else can give you. No wonder Ferrus liked to fuck you, you're desperate for it."

The second mention of their dead brother left Fulgrim flailing enticingly against Perturabo's hold on him. Gloriously he could see blood at the roots of his hair where he gripped it. He didn't know how much longer he could stand it and began to hilt himself with as much violence as possible, every pathetic whimper brought him closer to the edge. "You make a good little whore Fulgrim."

Lightfall, I loved it

First off: Story was great. Jot that down.

Second off: Strand is fun as fuck. Yes. Even Titan you whiny babies.

Third: Nimbus is the best egg. Anyone who finds them cringey or weird is just mad Cayde’s still dead. Love their silly quips. Love their excitability. If anything their VA could have been even more over the top.

Four: fucking Cayde memorial. Stop fucking asking. He’s dead. Get over it. Bungie has moved on. I know he was your favorite character. He still can be! He’s just. Dead.

Five: I love that Mara has been beaten down enough to have some actual fucking humility while still being That Bitch. Love that for her. I like Mara because she’s a bitch and a bad person.

Why your bitching about the story is wrong

Story was great! Anyone who complains about the story I am SO sorry to tell you but its a shooty game. Just because it’s got lore doesn’t make it not a shallow shooty game where your main interaction with the narrative is ‘point gun/magic at enemy’. Halo’s story was not as great as you remember it. MC was still going around the narratie with ‘point gun at enemy’. Bungie has def gotten better at story telling but they’re still Bungie and still telling, honestly, pretty basic narratives. That is not a complaint. That is not a disparagement.

They are telling a banger of a cyclical epic while this is effectively ‘part two’ of a trilogy. Prequel was Beyond Light. Part one was WQ. Part 3 is Final Shape. This is the set up for the Final Shape. People going into it thinking this is not a second part of a three part story are out of their minds.This is not Return of the Jedi. This is Empire Strikes Back. Everyone get with the program 👏

Every. Single. Cutscene. Was. A. BANGER!

Every time we had a cutscene I was so excited and they were all done so beautifully! Our Guardian TALKED! And like talked a lot for us. Amazing. No notes. Every time our Ghost was Affected by the Veil or the Witness I had some INTENSE feelings.

Also the cutscene after we beat Calus? When Caiatl said ‘shoot it’ and we put our gun up to shoot our Ghost??? My heart was in my fucking throat. NOPE NOPE NOPE! Bungie how dare you! Especially bc Caiatl knows how important our Ghost is. I get why she’d say that in the moment but holy fuck. The noises of absolute distress I was making!!

Calus

I’ve seen some ‘Calus should have been more threatening’/’Calus should have killed the Witness’/’Calus xyz’ and YOU FOOL! Calus isn’t threatening and never has been to the Guardian. Even in Caiatl’s new lore we see Calus is not a threat and never has been. His hubris is greed and lust and desire for power. That was always going to be his undoing. And it was! He reached for glory and found it and just like Caiatl said found it... wanting. He held that goblet the entire time but it was never filled with wine. Calus was unfulfilled. That is the point. Calus is a creature of greed and avarice. He can never be satisfied. And because of that he can never be truly powerful, because he’s afraid. I believe even the Witness remarks on this.

Also people saying Calus should have just killed the Witness??? Fucking?? How?? We can’t even kill the Witness. How the fuck is he supposed to when he can barely keep his shit together.

The final showdown with him was pretty fucking fun. Me and a friend beat our heads against it super low level for a while, went and did seasonal content and then came back more leveled and wasted him. But when we were underleveled it was VERY threatening. Everything hurt. Everything wanted you dead. We did Strand once but that was a Mistake. Nailed him down with some Void subclasses and Ghally.

Osiris

Oh Osiris. I have so many feels about Osiris. He’s so... frantic and obsessed in the beginning. Desperate to be right and to have all his anxiety and fear validated. To show he can be trusted again. All of this was for Osiris feeling like he’d earned everyone’s trust again. That he wasn’t mad. That his visions from Savathun weren’t just more lies and trickery. And bro he’s SO ANGY in the first 2ish missions when we’re first learning to use Strand.

Osiris shows more emotion in like 4 lines of dialogue than we’ve seen from any other NPC in like 10 years holy shit. When he yells at you I fucking felt that. Holy shit.

This expac was for haughty fucks to get their temperance. And Osiris absolutely is a haughty fuck. He was so obsessed with the Veil and then had to be brought back to see what was actually happening out of his tunnel vision by the Cloud Striders (and us. Just bc Bungie doesn’t let us be in cut scenes doesn’t mean the Guardian/Ghost didn’t affect him).

Rohan

If anyone was surprised Rohan died I just wanna know... how??? As soon as I saw him interacting with Nimbus I was like ‘oh, he’s dead before this expac is over’ and yeap! He was. Like it’s the classic ‘old cop 4 days from retirement gets killed in the line of duty’ trope like I said Bungie tells very good basic ass stories and then the young rookie has to take over. I didn’t know how Rohan would die but as soon as he went into the mast both me and my friend said ‘oh he’s for SURE dead’.

And honestly I think his death was fine. It was a heroic sacrifice. Not much else you could want for a character like Rohan.

Nimbus

I started off not liking their voice. Not the actual voice but the mechanical/digitial overlays and tuning Bungie did to it. It was insanely grating on the ears. I’ve gotten used to it but I still don’t love it. I also think that below the collar bone their design is... weird. Idky their girdle is so fucking tight.

End of anything bad I have to say about Nimbus. Their the best. I love them so much I find them so charming and sweet and absolutely adorable. They’re so excited about living and helping people and being a Cloud Strider. They know a lot but still come across as... naive isn’t the word I want to use exactly but its that vibe of it. Innocent isn’t quite right either. They’re just so excited about who they are and what they do and fuck I love that for them.

I thought they way Bungie handled Nimbus not handling their grief was also pretty well done. Go with the flow only gets you so far but sometimes you need to just sit and reflect and be sad jfc.

Strand

I thought Stasis was pretty ham fisted in getting us to learn it in Lightfall. It was very much ‘go here, do the thing’ which I did not feel in Strand. Strand felt a lot more woven (heh) into the story and actually important to the story. I never felt like Stasis was other than we just wanted Eramis not to have it. It also helped us connect with Osiris and fulfilled his story line.

Love that you learn Strand just by using Strand and we don’t have those fucking HORRIBLE fragment/aspect missions like we did with Elsie. Omfg I’d have rather died than get Strand on all 3 of my characters.

I originally played Strand on my Titan and I don’t care what people say: Stand Titan is FUN. Like it’s so fun! I don’t find Void, Stasis, or Solar Titan to be very fun to play personally. I like to just hit things which is why I’m a HoIL Arc Titan scrub. I haven’t unlocked it fully yet tho but I’ve seen some Strand Titans in the battlegrounds and strikes and BRO! They are killing ittttttt

Now I’m playing on Hunter, my main and BOY! There is a lot to keep track of and its so... fuN! I am slowly learning how to properly micromanage my knife toss to catch it. I catch it probably... 75% of the time? But I have to be watching it. The catch is VERY forgiving thank god. And I have to fight between wanting to throw the knife ALL THE TIME (gambler’s dodge) and also using my dodge to suspend enemies which is ALSO so fucking fun! The super is a little... floaty and is a disc which is... so strange. It’s taking some getting used to that your super is a plane and not a rounded AOE. Which makes sense! It’s a rope dart but. I wish you could throw your rope down a bit easier.

Have not played any Warlock but my story buddy did and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED THREADLING FRIENDS SO MUCH!

Witness and Traveler

Had a lotta headcanons validated in these cut scenes my dude. My YW can like... do a Light burst in my lore. Which is not healthy for her or anyone else btw and afterwards there’s just... spontaneous plant growth. LIKE HELL YEAH!!! Traveler fucking shooting a fucking terraforming beam RIGHT at the Witness? Fucking cool as shit.

The only reason I wasn’t screaming during the final cut scene was because I was on vc and that’s rude. But BRO!! BRO BRO BROO BOR BRO BRO

Admittedly: super fucking confusing. Witness used the Veil to connect to... something? I haven’t read the lore books yet. And then teleported there? Also the fucking Traveler’s got a TRIANGLE ON IT NOW!?!? Is the Traveler dead? It can’t be dead we still use the Light. And now the Witness is gone after cutting a hole in our ball and took six fucking Pyramid ships with it...

Season of Defiance

Mara’s got some fucking humility. Love that for her. But god she can’t be humble without also rubbing out noses in the fact that she’s ‘amazing’ and perfect and going to protect and save us or whatever. *gag* The fact that she talks to us like a person and not a thing (which she was doing in Season of Lost) is a HUGE step forward. Love it when a bitch gets some character development. But also love she’s still a bitch. Mara stans/girlbossers DNI. She sucks and I like that.

I’m side eyeing Bungie so hard with the Amanda stuff. If they make Amanda/Crow canon I will be very upset. I think Amanda is one of the most boring NPCs in the game. Like Light doesn’t make you interesting. She’s just not. So sorry for Amanda likers out there. But also I think Bungie knows so many people ship their Guardian with Crow I don’t think they’d do that.

BUT! I do want Crow to have friends and I want Crow and Amanda to be friends! I’m glad Bungie just didn’t hand wave the fact that Crow is Uldren away and make Amanda cool with him. I’m glad this will take a bit to reconcile. If they ever properly do.

The battleground thing is fine. Just the same shit we’ve been doing before. I’m super excited for a formula change up Bungie said they were doing in coming seasons!

They’re fun! Give them to people fuck. I ran a battleground and someone just left without giving any. Wtf man????

Neonumi NPCs

The Neonumi who give us patrol bounties??? Sam, Sid (?) and... librarian fuck I forget her name. All them?? LOVE THEM! They’re all so actually rather fleshed out and have distinct personalities. I think they’re all great!

The Veil

I for sure thought they were gonna cuck us on seeing the Veil. Like what’s it do? What’s it look like? Well what it does is be a McGuffin. Like I’m still not 100% on what it is exactly?? Like it’s a power source and attuned to the Light? But idky Witness wants it so bad :Y I’ll have to dive in the lore later.

Also I was SO emotional when we first saw the Veil. Standing over it and looking down I got a little teary?

Also also; its an eye? When we were under the Veil its tendrils looked like the back of your eye, the optic nerve. And then in the second phase of the Calus fight it grows longer and absolutely looks like an optic nerve.

Exotic Rohan Quest

I thought it was fun! Hot take: I like that raid XD I think Garden of Salvation is a good raid y’all are just mean/don’t know how to build platforms at the boss. Love going into Garden and seeing the beautiful skyboxes and the Black Garden itself. GoS is a BEAUTIFUL raid too omg. My friend had only been in GoS once to get Div when you could fuck around with 12 man fireteams. So it was neat we got to go back!
