I find it kind of silly that so many of those "time based life rule" sayings are like ~deep serious guidelines~ of some sort, but then there's that one other Well Known Rule that's just like "hrmm can I eat something off of the ground or not"
#the duality of human condition.. two biggest concerns in the modern era are attempts at self fulfilling productivity#and also 'if i drop my sandwich can i still eat it :('#Also while capitalism is often linked with/the source of hyper productivity culture - note that I do not mean the images in that context#'meaningful to you' does not have to mean 'productive within a capitalist system'. The point is not 'every waking hour of every day#must be spent in the most societally productive grinding mindset hyper efficency mode possible' but more like#if you've always wanted to learn french ever since you were a kid and you think it would be fulfilling to you (just because you like it#absent of any larger purpose like using it for a job/monetizing it somehow/etc.). and you've just spent like 5 hours straight on tiktok#or something mindlessly scrolling the internet. maybe someimtes it'd help for your own personal fulfillment in the long#run to try to - the next time you have 5 spare hours - work on learning french or something that is actually significant to you#as a person and that you'll be glad you worked towards. instead of weeks and weeks passing by and feeling you have nothing to show for it#or etc. AAANYWAY. The images/rules themselves are also NOT the main point of this post. More just the juxtaposition of them together#and the fact that 3 of them are serious seeming while one is so mundane it seems silly in comparison.#BUT even though they're not the main point . I still didn't want it to come across as if I was like promoting or buying into capitalist#productivity culture propaganda or etc. I don't find productivity tips like this inherently bad as long as they're kind of divorced from#those ideas. I think it's still important in life to have goals even if those goals exist outside of the typical expected framework.#I mean that's actually part of why a culture of chronically exhausted overworked deprived people is damaging because if you#'re forced to spend 85% of your waking time working at some job that is perosnally meaningless to you that brings you nothing that#youre only doing under threat of starvation and houselesness and etc. then of course you don't have much time for hobbies or things you car#about and of course you'll feel more aimless and personally unsatisfied and like life is not fulfilling or interesting.#Productivity and efficiency is GOOD actually. as long as it's able to be directed in ways that are actually meaingful to the community or#individual and bring some sort of feeling of fulfillment or progress or accomplishment and working towards a person's personal ideas#of happiness whatever those are. rather than just working away aimlessly so some guy you don't know can buy a 20th house or etc. etc.#ANYWAY.. lol.. Me overthinking things perhaps.. probably not as likely#that people see the silly little cat images and go 'WOW EVIL you must be a capitalist grind culture lover' like its pretty clear#thats not the point... but... just in case... lol.. I loooove to over clarify things that don't actually need clarification

people who treat hamsters like disposable pets and seem almost proud about not caring what happens to them. i hope you are shot btw
#the carelessness with which people treat hamsters because they are small + have short life spans. i will eat you#remember my boss coming to work with her six year old daughter one day holding a new hamster in a box#and my boss going yeah accidentally let the old one eat a whole load of chocolate haha! um kill yourself sorry#if you cannot bring yourself to care about the fate of a tiny animal you should not get one as a pet!! ‘haha my hamster got loose and ended#up trapped behind a wardrobe!!’ so would it be pretty funny too if i hit your cat with a car. thought not!!#anyway. silly rant stupid rant about a silly topic but i have never had a dog or a cat but#I have had three hamsters and the way people will buy them and then not seem to give a shit what happens about them is. horrible actually!#this goes for all small animals also. hamsters fish guinea pigs what have you. if you have such a low capacity for love that you are not#capable of extending it to an animal smaller than a cat then. don’t get pets i think!!#someone once told me they used to send their childhood hamster down a garden slide as a joke. my current hamster we only have#because someone tipped him out onto the street and we found him. what the fuck is wrong with people!! gross!!#small animal pets are not like. a tester pet for a big animal that you can afford to neglect or mistreat you understand that right#(ridi's) bigmouth strikes again

10 Tips for Finding Your Dream Car: Used Cars Ireland Edition
Finding your dream car can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially in Ireland's thriving used car market. But fear not! With the right guidance and expertise, you can navigate the maze of options and drive away in the perfect vehicle for you. Here are 10 invaluable tips to help you find your dream car in Ireland's bustling used car market.
But before we delve into the tips, let's address a common misconception: finding your dream car doesn't have to be a daunting task. With the right approach and resources at your disposal, you can streamline the process and make it an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
1. Set Your Budget and Stick to It
Setting a budget is the first step in any car buying journey. Determine how much you can comfortably afford to spend, including considerations for insurance, maintenance, and other associated costs. Once you have a budget in mind, stick to it to avoid overspending.
2. Research Extensively Online
The internet is your best friend when it comes to researching potential vehicles. Utilize online platforms like Buy and Sell Car, Carzone, and Autotrader Ireland to browse through a wide selection of used cars for sale in Ireland. Narrow down your options based on your preferences, such as make, model, price range, and location.
3. Consider Your Specific Needs
Think about your specific needs and preferences when choosing a car. Do you require ample space for a growing family? Are you looking for fuel efficiency for long commutes? Consider factors such as size, fuel economy, safety features, and technology options to ensure the car meets your lifestyle requirements.
4. Inspect the Vehicle Thoroughly
Before making any commitments, it's essential to inspect the vehicle thoroughly. Look for signs of wear and tear, check the mileage, and inspect the interior and exterior for any damage. If possible, take the car for a test drive to assess its performance and handling on the road.
5. Get a Vehicle History Report
A vehicle history report provides valuable insight into the car's past, including its ownership history, accident history, and maintenance records. Request a vehicle history report from the seller or use online services like Carfax to uncover any potential red flags before making a purchase.
6. Verify the Seller's Reputation
When buying a used car, it's crucial to verify the seller's reputation and credibility. Look for reviews and testimonials from previous customers, and ensure the seller has a good track record of honest and transparent transactions. Buying from reputable dealerships like Buy and Sell Car can provide added peace of mind.
7. Negotiate the Price
Don't be afraid to negotiate the price when buying a used car. Research the market value of similar vehicles and use this information to negotiate a fair price with the seller. Be prepared to walk away if the seller is unwilling to negotiate, as there are plenty of other options available.
8. Consider Financing Options
If you require financing for your purchase, explore your options and choose the best financing plan for your needs. Compare interest rates, loan terms, and monthly payments from different lenders to find a financing solution that fits your budget.
9. Arrange for a Professional Inspection
For added peace of mind, consider arranging for a professional inspection of the vehicle before finalizing the purchase. A qualified mechanic can conduct a thorough inspection and identify any potential issues or hidden problems that may not be apparent to the untrained eye.
10. Trust Your Instincts
Last but not least, trust your instincts when making a decision. If something feels off or too good to be true, it's better to err on the side of caution and explore other options. Remember, there are plenty of used cars available in Ireland, so take your time and choose wisely.
Conclusion:
Finding your dream car in Ireland's bustling used car market may seem like a daunting task, but with these 10 tips and the assistance of reputable platforms like Buy and Sell Car, it can be a smooth and rewarding experience. By setting a budget, researching extensively, inspecting the vehicle, and trusting your instincts, you'll be well on your way to driving away in the perfect car for you. Happy car hunting!

Have you ever wondered about the actual cost of a purchase but didn't know the math to figure it out?
Understanding the financial aspects of a car purchase or lease is crucial. Here are some equations that car buyers can use as a rule of thumb or to better understand the cost of a car deal.
Equations:
1. Sales Tax = Purchase Price × Sales Tax Rate
2. Total Loan Cost = Loan Amount + (Loan Amount × Interest Rate × Loan Term)
3. Monthly Payment = Total Loan Cost / (Loan Term × 12)
4. Depreciation Percentage = ((Original Value - Resale Value) / Original Value) × 100
These equations can serve as a starting point for car buyers to estimate costs and make more informed decisions. Consider individual circumstances, and additional fees, and consult financial experts for detailed advice. 🚗💰

how would arguments go between simon and MOB? i imagine he would never dare raise his voice at her.
simon does not argue with his wife. if you are in danger or something is wrong, i could see him using a little bit of his lieutenant's voice just to get you to listen to him. to "get behind me" or "i'll take care of this, you go." otherwise, there's no resistance. none at all.
"you know, simon, i..." you stop at the door, swallowing. you rub a hand over your forehead, shaking your head. "i...i-i really don't want to go."
he shuffles in his boots, staring at you carefully. you're all dressed up; you've got a new dress on (that he bought you, eagerly), and you've done your makeup. you clutch your purse with clammy hands, and he narrows his eyes when he sees the tremble in your bottom lip. he clears his throat, taking his jacket off. he removes his boots quietly, scratching the back of his neck as he comes close to you to take your bag and hang it up by the door again.
"okay," simon murmurs. "then we won't go."
he doesn't tell you about the cancellation fee.
"'ello?"
"simon!"
he startles awake this time, holding the phone closer to his ear. the sheer anxiety in your voice cuts his gut sharp.
"wot? wot is it? wot happened?"
"i--i totally...i screwed up, simon--oh, god, i'm so sorry--"
"oi!" simon says firmly. "wot happened?"
"i...i'm at the shop, someone was going to back into me, so i swerved, and--"
"fuck," simon breathes. "are ya olright?"
"the car, it's--"
"not wot i asked," simon interrupts you. "are ya hurt?"
"w-what? i..." you sniffle. "no. i'm okay. just a little sore, i guess..."
simon lets out a deep breath, shaking his head.
"i'm coming," simon says lowly. "you stay there, baby. don't move."
"but, simon, the walk is--"
"i'll see ya in twenty."
"oh, no, no, no, no!" you gasp. the orange tabby's head perks up at the sound of your voice at the door. she's got one of simon's masks in her mouth, and even from this distance and without the lights turned on, you can tell the fabric is shredded to bits. it's all over the floor, scattered across the couch, flecks of lint in her fur.
"oh, god, how could you?!" you panic a little. she must have gotten into some kind of drawer or basket or the laundry, because as you start towards her, she darts away, leading you across the house where you can see shreds of more masks and simon's socks strewn about the house. "oh, no!"
the front door closes heavy. when you come into the living room, simon is there, dropping his gear onto the floor. he looks tired--his shoulders sag, and you can see his eyes half-lidded and barely opening.
"simon, i'm...i'm s-sorry, she--"
you're holding his tattered clothes, but before you can say anything more, he grabs you by the shoulders and hugs you so tight. you nearly lose your breath from how he crushes you to his chest, and you let out a quiet whimper when his knees buckle and he falls to the floor with you, cradling your head to his chest and kissing your forehead through the mask over and over.
you're here. you're real. you're alive.
you drop the shredded fabric and hug him back, closing your eyes as you breathe him in. he tips your head back finally, ripping his mask off and kissing you hard.
he doesn't care when he sees the orange cat take a bite of his thrown mask and run away with it.
he can buy a million masks. but his girls--he pulls back from your kiss to stare down at you, intense. he hasn't slept in days, and he hasn't had a decent meal in weeks, camping on different rooftops just to track a shipment, and when that bullet whizzed past his head, all he could think about was you. the cat-bitten plants. the warm food. the cherry dress. some things cannot be replaced.
some brides cannot be ordered again. they don't make them like you.
you are one of a kind.

How The Number Of Used Cars For Sale Has Raisen Over The Last 3 Years
As we commemorate Transport Month, we have to reflect on South African vehicle listings, particularly the used car market, a booming sector in the automotive space. For reference, we're looking at used vehicle listings over the past three years and comparing the first half of the year (H1) of 2020 to H1 of 2023. According to AutoTrader, data shows that 573 083 used cars were listed for sale in H1 of 2020 by 105 different brands, a staggering amount.
When comparing this with data from H1 of 2023, we see a 10% increase in used car listings, bringing the total used vehicles available for sale on the platform to 652 198 from 116 different vehicle brands. These figures show an increased number of used cars in the market and an expansion of vehicle manufacturers trading in South Africa.
Over the three years, 18 new brands have entered the market, and according to AutoTrader CEO George Mienie, "the increase of brands trading in South Africa is partially due to stronger ties with China. We've seen brands like Chery make a triumphant return, as well as other Chinese brands like Proton expanding production in the South African automotive space."
Related: View the latest and best used cars for sale in Mossel Bay to get a great deal.
During this period, three brands saw the most significant growth in cars listed for sale, one of them being Chery, with a 997% increase in listings on the used car market. Proton is not far behind with an 875% spike.British brand Lotus saw a 620% increase, while luxurious German firm Mercedes-Maybach increased by 369%, followed by Haval with a 176% bump.
Looking at some more historically popular brands, in 2020, Volkswagen had the most used car listings on AutoTrader, accounting for 13.8% of total listings. Toyota followed closely (12.2%), with Ford (10.92%) in third place.
The same players continue to dominate in 2023 with a slight reshuffle of order. Toyota listings now take up the largest slice of the pie at 15.3%, switching positions with VW taking second place at 12.98%. Ford's listings have remained consistent over the three years at 10.60%.
There has been an increase in rare imports on the platform as well; however, these niche cars account for a small portion of the overall pie.

Writing Character Accents in Fiction
Hey there, thanks for the question! I speak English as a second language; most English speakers I encounter aren’t native (yes, including fictional people); thus, this is a concern I’ve explored personally when I write.
I think the core principle regarding accent writing is this: it shouldn’t be distracting.
For the same reasons why Stephen King prescribes the basic dialogue tag “said” rather than fancier alternatives like “whispered”, “shouted” or “screeched”, dialogue must be first and foremost easy to read. It must flow like a real conversation – the pace and tone are a lot more important than how specific words are being pronounced by the character.
Focus on what effect the accent has:
Using adjectives to describe their voice in general. Different types of English (American, British, Australian, etc.) will give off a different vibe, also partly dependent on how your character speaks in general:
Lilting: Having a smooth rise and falling quality; sing-song like. Welsh accent is often described as singing.
Posh: from a high social class. This is the term generally used to describe the upper-class British accent.
Nasal: this happens when the sound goes through somebody’s nose when they’re speaking. North American accents are more nasal than, say, British pronunciations.
Brash: harsh, loud, indicative of sounding a little rude.
Slur: speaking indistinctly; words merging into one another.
Using metaphors.
Her voice was cotton and fluffy clouds.
When he spoke, the ‘r’s scratched the insides of his throat.
Mentioning their accent with a brief example(s).
“Would you like to drink some wine?” she said, though her Indian accent gave extra vibration to her ‘w’s and ‘r’s, making the words sound more like ‘vould you like to drrrink some vine’.
“I want some chocolate.” His syllables were choppy and ‘l’s rather flat, saying ‘cho-ko-lit’.
Some Tips:
Don’t phonically spell out everything. Perhaps give a few examples in the beginning, but stick to standard English spellings.
Pay attention to word choice, slang, and colloquialisms.
An Australian person would say “tram”, not “trolley; “runners” instead of “sneakers”
A Canadian may refer to a “fire hall” – what Americans call a firehouse or fire station
If your character comes from a non-Enligsh background:
Use vocabulary from other languages.
“What time was the exam, ah? Two o’clock? Jiayou!” → putting “ah” or “la” at the end of sentences + Jiayou means “break a leg” in Singlish.
“I can’t believe that 4-year-olds have their own SNS accounts now.” → “SNS” is short for “social networking service”, a term used to refer to social media in Korea. This would a subtle difference – even though it isn’t technically Korean at all!
Transpose grammar from different languages.
For example, in French, plural nouns take plural adjectives (whereas in English, you would speak of ‘white cars’, not ‘whites cars’).

How To Calculate The Best Used Car For Your Moola
Buying a used car for sale in Alberton has typically been considered a smart way to save by avoiding the steep depreciation costs that go hand in hand with new cars.
However, a limited supply of new cars and trucks due to the ongoing chip shortage caused demand for used cars to skyrocket, pushing prices much higher and reducing the value of buying pre-owned.
Now, although costs have cooled slightly, older used cars in Alberton are still sought after and priced accordingly.
Top tips for buying a used car
Beyond the standard advice to check for excess wear and tear, request a vehicle history report and bring the car to a repair shop for an inspection, according to Ivan Drury, director of insights at car-shopping comparison website Edmunds. He offered these five tips for anyone in the market for a used car.
1. Mileage is a myth: “Don’t be afraid of the close to 200,00 km marker on your odometer,” Drury said. Because durability has improved significantly over the last decade, “200,000 is not the mileage threshold it used to be.”
“Used car values do not fall off a cliff at 200,000 kilometres,” he said. “Instead, they continue to follow a very linear reduction in value up to and past 200,000, almost all the way to 250,000.”
2. Being “basic” has its benefits: Going with widely popular models has an added advantage when it comes to buying a used car, Drury said.
“Buying mainstream, high-volume models almost ensures you’ll be near a dealership or repair shop that is familiar with your model and has replacement parts readily available for repairs, translating to easier and more affordable maintenance,” he advised.
3. Stick with what you know: Similarly, buying from a brand you have had a positive experience with could give you added reassurance compared to purchasing something else that might save you money upfront “but stresses you out each time you start your car,” Drury said.
4. Check the comps: Check out comparables — or older model years of the same vehicle — on marketplaces like AutoTrader, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree to see which models are really capable of going the distance, he said.
“Even if you’re looking at something like a 2015 model year, research even older model years of that vehicle to see how many miles others have racked up and their prices for future predictions of value retention,” Drury advised.
5. Be ready to jump on a good deal: With demand still elevated, lower-priced used vehicles will not make it more than a few weekends before selling, so be prepared to act quickly, he said.
A five-year-old, R300,000 car will only last 39 days on the lot, on average, according to data from Edmunds. For a 10-year-old, R150,000 car that number falls to just 27 days.

Always tips very generously
He was once in line at a batburger and there was a karen yelling at the poor 16 year old cashier and he walked to the front and just started sticking 100 dollar bills into the tip jar with the nastiest smile aimed at the karen. ‘The more you yell the more i tip.’ (the cashier was, coincidently stephanie brown, and she high fived him)
He has a social media but never uses it unless its to draw awareness to a certain cause or to show off his children.
He also posts beautiful pictures of gotham, or of mundane everyday things, showcasing the beauty in life
(Is canonically a feminist)
Will protect waiters/servers/janitors from creeps or gotham elite who think theyre better than them
He stopped adopting kids but still pays for as many college tuitions as he can
Funded a city wide disability infrastructure plan so people with wheelchairs could go places too
He once rocked three guys with guns’s shit because they were attempting to molest these little boys
Punched a teacher in the face for making a student cry
Will at any time drop everything the second one of his kids asks him to
There is an entire instagram account dedicated to pictures of him helping old people cross the street
Once a month he visits inmates at the prison and offers them jobs
Genuinely cares for his workers and buys them houses and cars if they need it
Literally created gothams public transportation system and made sure it was free
Teamed up with poison ivy to make public gardens for everyone to enjoy
Funds clean energy research
Any celebrity fan mail he receives he answers personally
One time a little girl asked him to come to her birthday party and he did and brought presents
Taught an entire school basic self defense
Brucie Wayne may be an idiotic little shit but he is the Prince of Gotham and Gothamites would lay down their lives for him more willingly than they would for Batman.
