「 Fall For You | A Very Merry Footballer Ficmas 」
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: your crush takes you to santa’s hometown where he falls for you on a skating rink – literally.
warnings: really, really cheesy fluff, dominican slang, language 🎅🏾: even the best gifts come with a little falling | pt 5 of my ficmas series wc: ~2.7k
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure why you agreed to coming to a Christmas themed village to ice skate with Alejandro. It could’ve been the way his eyes lit up when he suggested it, or the fact that he was really good at convincing you to do things you wouldn’t normally do because of his dazzling smile. Either way, you were here now – lacing up your skates and standing on the edge of an ice rink that looked like it was a set piece to a Christmas movie.
The two of you were visiting Rovaniemi for the weekend as a last minute trip he planned to escape Barcelona during the holiday break. The snow fell lazily and settled on wooden poles that were glowing with Christmas lights crisscrossing above the rink. There were families and couples circling the rink with all different levels of skill. Some were gliding around like ice fairies while the others were wiping out everytime the skate touched the ice. The stalls on the sides of the market sold mugs of mulled wine, spiced gingerbread, and waffles slathered in chocolate. It smelled like the epitome of Christmas – cinnamon, sugar, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, and frosty air biting at your nose.
Alejandro stood beside you, fumbling to pull his knit beanie lower over his ears. He stared at the ice curiously. “You know I’ve never done this before, right?” he asked, side eyeing you with a small smile that didn’t really mask the nerves he was trying to hide.
“That makes two of us then” you replied, nudging him with your elbow. “You wanted to come here though. Don’t back down now.”
Alejandro rolled his eyes and muttered something in spanish that you didn’t catch because you were too distracted by a little girl skating on the ice. She wore a pink beanie with a fuzzy pom pom on top paired with a pink glittery scarf as she zipped through the ice. She did a little spin and grinned at both of you, then skated off before you could process the type of skill she had for such a tiny body.
“Oh, she’s showing off” Alejandro said while shoving his hands in his coat pockets.
“Maybe..but it can’t be that hard to skate on solid ice.”
“If you say so....”
The rink wasn’t super big, it was cozy enough to feel magical, even if you lacked the skating ability threatening to ruin the picture perfect postcard illusion. You heard chatters of a group of older women handing out skates while sipping mugs of hot chocolate as you entered the rink.
“Do you think they have insurance...like if someone breaks a leg or something?” you asked.
Alejandro snorted and grabbed your hand while both of you shuffled to the edge of the rink. “Only one way to find out.”
Alejandro stepped on the ice first, still gripping your hand like it could save him from falling. You followed shortly after, gripping onto the rail with your free hand as your skates wobbled underneath you.  The moment his skate touched the icy surface his body jolted forward and he froze, flailing his arms out to balance himself. He looked over his shoulder at you with wide eyes like he was betrayed.
“So...they don’t do balance conditioning in training I guess…” you joked, stepping onto the ice with what you hoped was a lot more confidence than what you felt. The ice was...solid. But it was also slick and unforgiving to anyone who didn’t know to coordinate properly with the slipperiness of it. Your ankles wobbled instantly, and Alejandro tightened his fingers around yours.
“Don’t make any sudden movements” you said, mostly to yourself because you were too scared to move.
Alejandro laughed. “Are you the police? It’s just a skating rink.”
“No. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Look at us.”
The two of you inched forward and Alejandro’s free hand gripped the rail so hard his hands were cramping. A younger boy skated past, showing off as he hopped to one leg, making Alejandro’s hand twitch in response.
“You better not” you warned, knowing exactly how competitive he was.
“I wasn’t going to do anything” he lied while side eying the showoff who couldn’t have been older than 10 years old.
The snow picked up and flurries brushed up against your cheek while also settling onto his beanie. He looked over at you, grinning despite the chaos of neither of you knowing how to ice skate. “This is fun though...right?”
“Yeah. If you have a humiliation kink.”
Alejandro’s laugh echoed across the rink. “You’re so dramatic.”
Before you could reply, his skate slid out from under him and he instinctively reached out for you in the process – meaning both of you went down like a pair of dominos. The ice was cold and wet against your knees when you landed on the ground. You were mortified, yet Alejandro thought it was hilarious.
“Are you good down there?” an older man called out in a thick Finnish accent from off to the side. “That one looks like it hurt!”
“We’re fine!” Alejandro yelled while waving the man off, his other hand was still gripping yours as you both tried to regain a semblance of dignity. “Ay coño (oh damn), are we really that bad at this?”
He started laughing so hard he couldn’t breathe, tipping his head back as he sprawled on the ice in a snow angel position. You weren’t doing much better. Your hands were pressed against the freezing surface and your knees were tucked as you tried to push yourself up. But every time you moved, your skates fell under you and sent you sliding sideways.
“I swear you’re useless” you huffed, but you were slightly smiling.
“Me?” he shot back, propping up on his elbows. “What did I do?”
“You dragged us here knowing damn well neither of us know how to skate.”
“I thought it was a good idea.” he said between chuckles while still trying to get off the icy floor. “We’re bonding. It’s romantic.”
“This is not romantic” you argued, flopping back onto the ice as your legs wobbled again when you tried to get back up. “We look dumb. No one else here is struggling this much! I can’t even get up!”
Just then, the pink scarf girl gracefully spun past you, twirling on her skates like she was a ballerina on ice. Alejandro scoffed, not believing his eyes. “Yeah, she’s doing that on purpose. That little girl is a paid actor.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the blooming warmth in your chest from how handsome he looked, even if he couldn’t skate and looked like Bambi right now. His beanie was crooked and there were snowflakes dusting over part of his curls that weren’t covered.
Alejandro shifted to sit up just as the girl executed another flawless spin. “She’s pissing me off” he jerked his chin toward the little girl. “Is she practising for the winter olympics or what?”
“She’s like 8 years old” you contested, wiping your damp hands on your coat while glaring at the skates as if it wasn’t your terrible coordination keeping you on the ground. “You’re beefing with a literal child.”
“I’m not beefing” he answered way too defensively for someone not beefing. “She’s just making us look bad.”
“Um, no. We’re making ourselves look bad” you deadpanned, bracing your hand on the ice to try and stand up again. That was a mistake. A big one. The moment you shifted to move, the skate slid out and you went down again with a dramatic thud. Alejandro started laughing so hard he started wheezing and rolling on his side like it was the funniest thing he ever saw. “You’re not as graceful with your falls like I am.”
“Shut up and help me!” you snapped, but you really wanted to laugh too.
“Alright! Chill out on me, don’t yell.” He got up and scooted toward you in a penguin shuffle type movement. “I’m coming to the rescue.” He reached out again, tightening his fingers around yours like he was about to get it right this time around. For a second you thought it may actually work....until his other skate slid and gravity pulled both of you down again. You both hit the ice with a thud, tangled together in an awkward mess.
“You are sooo bad at this” you wheezed, clutching your stomach because you couldn’t stop laughing.
“Me?” Alejandro’s head shot up with a grin full of teeth and mischief. “You keep bringing me down every time!”
“You literally dragged me down first” you shot back, swatting at his arm playfully.
“You could’ve stayed up!” he argued, gesturing wildly. “There’s railing all over. You’re supposed to hang on to that and be my support system!”
You squinted at him, trying to hold back your laughter and failing miserably. “How am I supposed to support you when you can’t even stay upright for 5 seconds?”
Alejandro’s jaw dropped and he shook his head. “That’s not true. I’m athletic.”
“Maybe on the pitch but definitely not on ice.”
Alejandro side eyed at you, offended. “Tu si hablas mierda (you’re chatting shit)” he muttered under his breath while shaking his head.
“Say it again louder so I can hear it” you challenged, sitting back on the ice like you had all the time in the world.
“Nah” he said while grinning. “You don’t need to hear it but it’s the truth. You’re talking nonsense.”
You rolled your eyes and let out a groan. “Ale..you’ve been on the ice for less than 20 minutes and you’ve been on the ground for most of them.”
“Damn” He placed a hand on his chest like he was so hurt. “Tu ves? (kinda like ‘oh yeah?’) This is why I can’t take you anywhere. Always coming for me.”
“You dragged me here! I wanted to do the reindeer safari instead!”
“Yeah but I thought this would be cuter” He gestured toward the snow falling gently around you. “The lights and the snow...it’s romantic, no?”
“No. We literally look like two penguins who’ve never been on ice before.” you scoffed, trying to shuffle back onto your knees but it was no use, you were failing miserably.
Alejandro threw his head back and started laughing at you. “Nah, chill. Penguins are elegant. We’re a lot worse. We look like those inflatable things at car dealerships.”
“Well...you’re not wrong about that” you bit back your grin as he reached out for your hand to try and help you up, but you didn’t trust him at all.
“If you make me fall again I swear…” you warned while eyeing him suspiciously.
“Relaxxx. I got you. De verdad. (forreal)”
You reluctantly let him pull you up to your knees and it seemed like you may actually be able to get up for once, but then he lost his footing again and he yelped, toppling forward to take you down with him again. Alejandro groaned dramatically, sprawled on top of you like he was so done with life. “Maldita sea, pero esta vaina me quiere matar! (damn this shit is trying to kill me)” he muttered while shaking his head.
“Aww” you giggled while trying to pull him off, but he was too busy pouting about his latest fall. “Are you okay?” You were trying to sound serious and be helpful but the fact that he literally couldn’t get up without falling over again had you in stitches.
“No.” he grumbled, lifting his head just enough to glare at you while also pouting like a child. “This shit hurts.”
You rolled your eyes and brushed some snow that had accumulated on his curls due to his beanie falling off in the process of the fall. “Awww pobrecito (poor baby). Sana sana colita de rana (heal heal little frog)” you started a nursery rhyme meant for children when they got hurt in a teasing tone, rubbing your hand over his shoulder like you were fixing his imaginary injury.
“Yo stop. That’s for little kids. You’re making it worse!”
You ignored him, finishing the nursery rhyme just to piss him off. “Si no sanas hoy, sanaras mañana (if you dont heal today you’ll heal tomorrow).” you sang softly while still rubbing his imaginary wounds, though it was mostly his pride that was injured.
He smirked at you as his pout twisted into a smile. “Tu ere mala loco (you’re crazy). You know that, right?”
“I’m helping!” you gasped in shock.
“Nah tu ta pasa (you’re doing too much). You’re embarrassing me.”
You kissed your teeth at his dramatics, poking his shoulder dramatically. “No. You’re embarrassing yourself and I’m trying to soften the blow. You’ve been on the ground more than you’ve been on your feet. Just get up without thinking about it too much.”
Alejandro huffed and braced his hands on the ice as if he was preparing to get up, but he was still very clearly thinking about it too much. “Aight. I’m about to get up this time. No overthinking.”
“And probably no balance either.” you teased, reaching out to brush your hands over the earring in his ear. “How can you dribble in rain during a match but not manage a single step on ice?”
“Different terrains. And grass isn’t this slippery.” he contested, tilting his head a little so your fingers would brush against his skin.
“Mmm..sounds like an excuse to me but okay,” you muttered while still playing with his earring.
“Keep playing with my ear like that and I’m staying down here on purpose.”
“Don’t tempt me” you replied, smirking while giving his earring a flick.
The corners of his eyes turned into a smize as he widely grinned at you. “Nah you’re a distraction.” He shifted around to push himself up again. “Watch this. I’m about to–”
He fell again. No grace, no coordination or balance at all. He came crashing down right back onto you and you bursted out laughing again.
“You’re so bad at this. The reindeer safari was a safer option.”
“This ice is just plotting against me” he complained, but he wasn’t all that mad judging by the grin on his face.
“No..that’s all you.” You wiped away the water from the melted ice on his face, but this time he leaned into your touch a little more. Neither of you said anything else as the skates whizzed past and the laughter from the rink carried through. The only thing you were focused on in that moment was how close your faces were and the sight of your breaths in the cold, frosty air. Alejandro’s eyes flicked to yours, meeting your gaze.
“You have snow on your lashes” he murmured, reaching up to gently brush the flakes away with his thumb.
“So do you” you whispered back.
A single snowflake drifted down from the sky and landed directly on your bottom lip. Alejandro’s gaze followed it, his breath visible in the cold as he leaned in.
“I got it,” he said softly. His lips brushed against yours, melting the snowflake while also stealing the breath from your lungs. The kiss wasn’t anything awkward or rushed, it was perfect and warmed you in the best way despite the cutting chill of the finnish air. Alejandro pulled back just slightly, licking over his lips but still close enough to steal another kiss if he really wanted to. He was widely grinning now. “Dime princesa (tell me)” he murmured in a teasing voice. “Is this romantic enough for you now?”
You giggled softly, shaking your head as your fingers brushed over his cheeks, still damp from the melting ice. “I think you made your point.” Your cheeks were hurting from all the laughter and smiles but you couldn’t deny this was sort of romantic...in a really bad, cheesy rom com sort of way. “But do a little research next time so we can have romance without all the bruises.”
Alejandro chuckled as he shifted to lay back on the ice, neither of you getting up as you both stared at the snow fall from the sky. There were a lot more skaters circling around you now as they zipped past in their own little world.
“Alright. Reindeer safari next time. But you have to admit this was worth it for the kiss..”
You smiled, flicking a bit of snow off his nose. “Maybe…. but you really should work on staying upright though.”
Alejandro smirked, leaning in to melt away another snowflake that landed on your lips. “Nah. I’m okay with falling. Especially if it’s for you.”

Kitchen Chaos
Sidenote: This can be seen as part two of the baking chaos chapter if you want!
Y/n = Your Name
AgathaRio x daughter!reader
It was two weeks before Christmas, and the Harkness-Vidal household was fully festive. The tree in the living room bedecked with ornaments from years past, twinkled brightly in the soft glow of fairy lights. Garlands lined the banisters, and stockings hung from the mantel, each one personalized with a tiny bit of magic that had them shimmering with different colors depending on who passed by. Snow gently fell outside, covering Westview in a blanket of white.
Things were just starting to heat up in the kitchen—quite literally.
“Mom, Mama!” Y/n called excitedly, waving a recipe card in her hand. She was already in her Christmas apron, which was dusted with flour before they’d even started. “It’s time! We need to make the cookies before the day slips away.”
Sitting at the table with a warm cup of coffee, Rio chuckled at her daughter’s enthusiasm. “Alright, alright, no need to rush. We have all afternoon.”
“Afternoon, yes,” Agatha said, sauntering into the kitchen and tying on her own apron. “But if we’re doing this, we’re doing it my way—no shortcuts, no magic.”
Rio raised an eyebrow, her fingers already twitching with the urge to cast a small spell. “No magic? Are you sure? We could be done in ten minutes.”
“No,” Y/n interrupted, grinning mischievously. “I want to do it by hand. It’s more fun this way! Besides, the holidays are about the process, not how fast we can finish.”
Agatha gave her a proud nod. “Exactly. You heard her, Rio. No magic.”
Rio sighed dramatically, leaning her elbows on the counter. “You two are no fun.” But there was a playful smile on her lips as she took her place beside Y/n, prepared to at least pretend she wasn’t going to use magic.
“Okay, first up,” Y/n said, grabbing the bag of flour. We need flour, sugar, butter, and all the usual cookie stuff. We’ll divide itMom, you crack the eggs, Mama, you’re in charge of the dry ingredients.”
“Easy enough,” Agatha said, taking her role very seriously as she measured out the flour precisely while Rio started cracking eggs into a bowl with exaggerated care.
The first ten minutes went smoothly enough. Agatha sifted the flour and cocoa powder, Rio whisked the wet ingredients, and Y/n measured the sugar while chatting about their plans for the rest of the holidays. The kitchen was filled with the scent of vanilla and butter, and outside, the gentle sound of snowfall added to the cozy atmosphere.
But, of course, it didn’t take long for Rio’s impatience to get the better of her. As Y/n carefully stirred the dough, Rio glanced at the clock and then at the still-empty cookie sheets. With a quick flick of her fingers, she levitated the bag of flour, sending it soaring across the counter and dumping it directly into the bowl without a single spill.
“Mom!” Y/n yelped, her hands flying to her hips as she gave Rio a pointed look. “No magic, remember?”
Rio chuckled, shrugging innocently. “What? I didn’t spill a drop.”
Agatha glanced up from her mixing, eyes narrowed but lips twitching with amusement. “That’s not the point, Rio. You’re cheating. I said we’re doing this by hand.”
Rio held up her hands in mock surrender, laughing softly. “Alright, alright. No more magic. I swear.”
They went back to work, but it wasn’t long before another magical mishap occurred—this time, thanks to Y/n. As she absentmindedly muttered a spell under her breath while rolling out the dough, a small blob of cookie dough sprang to life, growing tiny legs and arms. It hopped off the counter and skittered across the floor like a gingerbread man on a mission.
Y/n’s eyes went wide. “Oh no! I didn’t mean to—!”
Agatha burst out laughing, clapping her hands. “Looks like you’ve inherited your mother’s impatience.”
Y/n blushed, chasing after the little dough creation, her spoon in hand. “Come back here!” she yelled, half-laughing, half-embarrassed.
Rio was leaning against the counter, smirking as she watched the chaos unfold. “Need help, sweetheart?”
“No magic!” Y/n insisted, trying to corner the rogue dough creature, but it was too quick, darting between the legs of the kitchen chairs.
Agatha, still laughing, finally stepped in. With a simple wave of her hand, she stopped the cookie mid-run and levitated it back onto the counter. “There,” she said, gently setting it before Y/n. “Problem solved. Now, let’s finish these before more kitchen disasters occur.”
The rest of the cookie-making process went about as smoothly as one could expect for a magical family. Y/n got flour in her hair, Rio knocked over a bag of sugar, and Agatha ended up with butter smeared on her apron, but they managed to mix and roll out the dough—without any more animated cookie attempts.
However, as Y/n slid the first tray of cookies into the oven, disaster struck again.
The oven, which had been preheated to a reasonable temperature, suddenly erupted in smoke, the scent of burning sugar filling the kitchen. Y/n’s eyes widened as she scrambled to turn it off.
“I didn’t even put them in for that long!” Y/n exclaimed, opening the oven door to find that a couple of cookies had expanded… a little too much. They were practically molten, bubbling and spilling over the edges of the tray.
Agatha waved her hand, fanning the smoke away from the stove while Rio grabbed a fire extinguisher. “This,” Rio said with a dramatic sigh, “is why we use magic.”
Y/n couldn’t help but laugh as Rio put out the tiny fire. “We’ll get it right next time.”
Once the smoke cleared, they salvaged what cookies they could and started again. This time, Rio closely monitored the oven to prevent another mishap. Despite the earlier chaos, the second batch came out perfectly golden brown.
“I’m calling this a victory,” Y/n said proudly as she placed the tray on the counter to cool. “Oddly shaped but delicious.”
Rio ruffled her daughter’s hair, leaning down to grab a cookie. “Agreed. And honestly, I think the misshapen ones have more character.”
Agatha smiled as she reached for a gingerbread cookie. “Imperfection is part of the charm, darling.”
Y/n beamed, grabbing a cookie herself and taking a bite. It was buttery, sweet, and just right. She looked around at the messy kitchen—flour still dusting the countertops, mixing bowls piled in the sink, and the faint scent of smoke still lingering in the air—and felt a warm sense of contentment.
“See?” Y/n said, grinning. “We didn’t need magic. We made memories. Isn’t that what Christmas is all about?”
Agatha chuckled and wrapped an arm around her daughter’s shoulders. “You’re wise beyond your years, kiddo.”
Rio, wiping her hands on a towel, moved closer to the two of them. “Alright, since we’ve conquered the cookies, how about we move on to something a little less disastrous, like hot cocoa?”
Y/n’s eyes lit up. “Yes, please!”
As Rio began to heat up the milk on the stove, Y/n curled up next to Agatha, resting her head on her mama’s shoulder. “This was fun,” she said softly, her voice filled with gratitude. “Even with the chaos.”
Agatha smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “That’s what makes it special, sweetheart. Chaos is part of our charm.”
As the rich smell of chocolate filled the kitchen and the warmth of the fire from the living room flickered in the background, the three of them sat together at the table, laughing and sipping their cocoa. The imperfect cookies were a testament to their perfectly imperfect family, and Y/n couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the holiday season.

WIP Wednesday Game
It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.
Here’s how it works:
In a reblog (or new post w/ rules attached), post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to post!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write at least 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. If you tag me in your post, I will send you an ask request!
If you’re reading this, you’re invited!
If you see someone posting a WIP Wednesday Game snippet, send them an ask! Make them write.
My only problem is that I tend to file name what the title is so I can find it easier, so...here’s what they were called before I titled them.
“File” Names
Metal Band AU
Strip Club AU
Sugar baby!Steve/Sugar daddy!Eddie AU
Snippet
“Cher,” Eddie said to Chrissy, “how’s that crush coming now?”
Chrissy hit his arm. “Oh yeah, it was bad when she was just a cute waiter, but now she’s got this weird sibling relationship with the hottest dancer you’ve ever hired, this is way worse.”
“Glad you made the distinction about hired dancer,” he huffed. “If I‘m not the fairest of them all, I start throwing apples.”
Chrissy’s eyes lit up. “Ooh, we should have a fairy tale night where everyone dances to different fairy tales. With your looks you’d be perfect for Snow White. The pale skin, the dark hair, just add the red lips and it would be perfect.”
Eddie rubbed his chin. “We could even do it on a Sunday, because most of the fairy tales are about envy right? Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, even Hansel and Gretel. Start coming up with fairy tales you’d want to do and we start practicing for it.”
“You’ve got it, babe!” Chrissy said with a kiss on his cheek.
****
It's that great and wonderful time of the week again! WIP Wednesday!
You'll notice no Boy w/a Bat this week because I'm too close to the end and don't want it spoiled for you guys.
The game runs from 8am-11pm EST.
Send in as many asks as you want as often as you want.

“It was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even Mr Mouse”
Tumblr media
“The stockings were hung by forge with care, in the hopes that Lord Celebrimbor soon would be there”
“The elves were all nestled all snug in their beds, while the sugar plum fairies danced in their heads”
“And High King in his robes, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winters nap”
“When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprung from the bed to see what’s the matter”
“Away to the windows I flew like an elf”
Tumblr media
———
“Tore open the shutters, and threw on a ———robe?”
“The moon on the breast of the fresh fallen snow, gave lustre of mid-day to objects below”
“When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny wargs”
“With a tall handsome driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment in must be Lord Celebrimbor”
Wait that doesn’t really rhyme, moving on.
“More rapid than eagles, but do not tell Manwë, his courses he came, and he whistled, and shouted l, and call them by name”
“Now! Dasher, now! Dancer, now! Prancer and Vixen. On, Comet, on! Cupid, on! Dunder and Blixen”
Tumblr media
“To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall. Now dash away, dash away, dash away all”
“Continue the story he says as stop to for a while, and as dry holly leaves before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky”
“So up the tower the courses they flew, with sleigh full of toys, and Lord Celebrimbor too”
“And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof, the pawing of little warg”
“As I drew in my head, and was turning around, down the forge the Lord of Eregion came down”
“He was dressed in all green, from head to his foot, with holly aplenty his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot”
“A bundle of toys was flung on his back, and he liked like Kris Kringle just opening his pack”
“His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how holly and merry, his cheeks were like roses, his nose like red berries”
“His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, but no white beard rested upon his chin”
“The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, and smoke it encircled him like a wreath”
“He had a broad face, and a little round belly, that shook when he laughed like a bowl fully of holly berries”
“Does that make any sense? I asked but his red just smiled and laughed and asks me to continue my story”
“He was chubby and plum, a right holly old elf. And laughed when I saw him in spite of myself”
“A twink in his eyes and twist of his head, soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread”
“He spoke no word, but went straight to his work, and filling all the stockings, then he turned with jirk”
“And laying his finger aside on his nose, and giving a nod, up the forge he rose”
“He sprung to his sleigh, to his wargs gave a whistle, and away they flew like the down of a thistle”
“But heard him exclaim, as he flew out sight, Happy Yuletide to all, and to all a good night”

i'm working on a ttrpg for my family for christmas (mom and two siblings) when they visit. the gist of it is: santa letter heist. all santa letters with no return and no deliverable address are sent to the mail recovery center in atlanta, georgia (this is true (there will be more true things: fun lil info about the postal service incorporated in just b/c i have always been a lil fascinated with it)). every year elves have to break in and steal all the santa letters so santa can read them.
one postal worker is convinced elves are stealing their mail but no one believes them (very crocker from fairy god parents). yr after yr this sole worker has added to the security of the facility in hopes of catching the elves. there will be fun traps. one room will be a maze of lasers that the players only have five seconds to look at before they have to pick a spot/path to start on (which may or may not be a dead end) and a laser that moves across the room will make them have to keep going.
there will be an NPC “elf” who joins the players on this heist. but they’re actually a leprechaun. they wear all green instead of the festive christmas red/green elves typically wear. they dyed their ginger hair white and the tips of their fingers are white (but, oh, that’s just snow or sugar powder!). they agreed to help the postal worker take down the elves in exchange for all the gold that was in any of the letters/packages sent here.
once the players get to the final room where the letters are stored, the leprechaun books it for the pile of gold—not the santa letters—and alerts the postal worker who is hiding in a fake bag of letters. boss fight ensues.
i haven’t come up with the mechanics yet but they’ll be simple. one of the elf abilities will def be “giving spirit” where they can compel someone to give them something with the power of the gift giving spirit of christmas (can only use this once and still have to roll for it).
my twin already pitched her elf character. who doesn’t live in the north pole anymore and lives in arizona like a cowboy. when they lived in the north pole they were the one who wrangled and taught the reindeer (they loved cowboys from a young age and no one believed in their ability to be a cowboy so they had to teach themselves how to be one with the reindeer). they wear regular cowboy boots but because they’re a tiny elf the cowboy boots look like thigh high boots on them. the reindeer are def the players getaway vehicle. i'll think of other ways to incorporate my twin's elf's backstory into the mechanics and plot.
i'll be making illustrations of their elves. maps. item cards or scenes that would be fun to see. possibly some sort of tangible, physical mechanic (like the popularity/high society meter in the court of fey and flowers (maybe a nice vs naughty meter; and elves intrinsically mustn't drop into naughty or it hurts / maddens / mutates them?)).
anyway. i’m excited to dig into a project like this that can consume my attention for the next couple months. i'm doing this because 1) it's fun to make and run campaigns 2) i'm too dang poor to buy anyone christmas gifts this year 3) i want to make a one shot that is fun and polished enough that i can publish online.

For the ask meme! 10, 14, 23, 47, 92 and 94. Hope this much is alright ^--^
10. game you were best at in p.e.? None, honestly. In the elementary school my teacher complained to my parents that I don't have any stamina (well duh, I'm not fed properly, don't feel hunger, and possibly have had anemia since I was like 7). I went to a tiny, tiny rural school with 8 other students (max was 15 other students) in the whole school, so our p.e was the whole school coming together just play and have fun. Like a long recess.
In the junior high I was always picked last to whatever we had to do. In the high school, I hurt my knee and couldn't participate the mandatory course, so I had to replace it next year. We got a new teacher on my 2nd year and he was absolutely wonderful! It was a mixed group due is being an optional course, so of course it was full of boys twice of my size who LOVED sports, competitions, games etc. The teacher allowed us a few girls to either go for walks or just sit and watch the boys hunt the ball (and each other) if we didn't feel like going to play with the boys with their bloodthirsty sport mentality :D
The easiest high school course ever!
14. favorite non-chocolate candy? I eat very, very little candies as I honestly prefer chocolate but Danish candy Skolekridt (lit. School Chalk in Danish) and Finnish Pantteri (Panther) are my biggest favorites.
Tumblr media
Skolekridts are black licorice coated with a white sugary coat.
Tumblr media
Pantteris are a slightly chewy salmiakki-menthol-licorice candies with a very fine sugar coating. I've loved Pantteri since I was kid, and my favorite thing was to scoop all the fallen, soft sugar from the bottom of the pack when the candies were eaten :3
During Christmas, I want at least one package of marmalade.
23. strange habits? After eating, I have to go to toilet. Always. Probably looks like I have some eating disorder but honestly, I've just trained - without realizing it - my bladder to think that after eating, we MUST pee.
I sleep with a special little blanket. It goes with me where ever I go. Though after 20 years of very much love,it's in such a bad shape I need to buy a new one...
47. favorite type of cheese? OOOO I love 2 year old Manchego!
92. lamps, overhead lights, sunlight or fairy lights? Fairy lights! Overall, gimme soft light, please.
94. favorite season? Winter. It's cold, the sun is gone for 20h a day (yay!), it's snowy, quiet and then there's Christmas :3 And let's be honest, the way the snow reflects lights in the cities is SO PRETTY

[Lore Dump]
LORE DUMP TIME!!!! Gods and deities have fucked eyes that will be the bane of my existence.
The gods have two "phases" of eyes, having three parts to it. The outermost part is a sort of clear dome that the "pupil" slides over so they actually "look" at things. The middle is a solid color plate that slides to cover the back(First phase). The back part looks like a hole in the skull, each god having a sort of "environment" in them(Second phase)
Sea Fairy having a mini version of the sea in her eyes, from the hydrothermal vents to a reef near her uppermost eye. (She has 7 of em)
Millennial Tree having a clearing in a forest.
Fire Sprit having a volcanic landscape. (Four bug eyes)
Wind Archer having a field of wildflowers.
Sugar Swan having a hazy pink lake in a dark area.
Stormbringer having a constant thunderstorm.
Moonlight having a cave with pillars of moonstone.
Cream Unicorn having a little carnival.
Sugar Cube having a Tim Burton looking carnival.
And Slushy having like, blue shave ice in piles on a deep blue landscape.
Sometimes, if you catch em at the right time, you can see a tiny version of themselves, sometimes someone else as well, in their eyes! Like, little figures playing in CU's carnival, or Moonlight sleeping in her cave!
Deities have eyes that look like balls of (usually colored) resin with bits floating in them, usually stationary, but sometimes they move, depending on the deity and how long they've been a deity and how close they are to a god(physically) on the daily. They can pull a "shell" of white over the eyes to help them blend in better, but, what would count as the iris and pupil can never be covered.
Cloud has, you guessed it, clouds! They shift slightly, and do tend to change with what clouds he's making!
Rain has rain, hail, and even snow in their eyes, sometimes their eyes look like they have two "parts", the inner one and a clear shell, letting the pupil stay stationary, but then the floating bits spin!
Wind Has a flurry of feathers that move like little beads in water as they move, with a small nest at the bottom! (Thanks to staying close to Stormbringer the longest)
Frost Queen has snow and hail, but sometimes rain, sometimes fish and frogs when she's really stressed and freaking out! There's a snow pile forming at the bottom of her eyes, likely from spending so much time with Sugar Swan.
TimeKeeper has gears, like if you submerged a clock in resin! They look like gold covered copper, and so some places looked chipped.
Pure Vanilla has orchids in his yellow eye, and vines of feather like leaves on the other. Both stationary, as he's never even met a god, other than SF once.

Fairytale Rewrite: Sleeping Beauty part 3 (Edited)
Tumblr media
His domain, The Valley of Thorns, was not a dark or vial place. In fact, the land was prosperous, and well. He only cursed the child because people ignored him and refused him when he tried to help others. Malleus paced around the throne room curious of the whereabouts of the child. The boy had not been seen since he was born. The throne room was a dark purple color with emerald, green thrown in and green smoke from the back to his throne.
“It’s incredible! Sixteen years he’s invaded me, how does he do it.” Malleus threw himself onto his throne and slumped down, tapping on the armrest. “Are you all sure you searched everywhere?”
“Yes, Great Malleus Draconia-sama! We promise.” Said a gargoyle. Malleus sat up on his throne.
“Very well. Leave me be then. Go search once more!” He looked at his bat “Go search as well. Search for a boy of sixteen and hair of snow. Go now and do not fail me!” Then the purple bat flew off to whoever knew where. “Truly they are disgraces to my kingdom”
And so, for sixteen long years, the whereabouts of the prince were hidden. While deep in the forest, in the woodcutter's cottage, Lilia carried out his mission. He lived without magic as a human, reared the little Prince as his own. He called him Silver named for his unnatural hair color.
All the fairies’ gifts were in the meantime fulfilled; for the prince was so beautiful, and well-behaved and amiable, and wise, all the animals in the forest loved him dreamily. On this his sixteenth birthday, Lilia had planned a party and something extra special as a surprise.
“Hmmm yes. He would look nice in this suit. Or maybe this one.” Lilia spoke out loud at a whisper. He then snapped his fingers, “Oh I should start on the cake and clean a bit too.” He face showed a bright and joyful smile as he thought. “How to get him out of the house for a time…”
The boy walked down the stairs to start the morning. “Well, what’s this father?” Lilia quickly closed the book, turned on his heel and sat on the table.
“What’s, what.” Looking around.
“You're mumbling to yourself and jittery. Are you feeling alright?” Then, an idea popped into Lilia’s head. He let out a cough and slouched a bit. “Oh no. Is it a sore throat? Do we have marshmallow root, or sage?” He looked through the kitchen to find none. “Wait here father. I’ll go get some by the meadow.” The boy then ran out the door basket in hand.
Lilia didn’t waste any time starting on the suit, cake, and cleaning. He couldn’t afford to; he was only one person well fae after all. He grabbed out light blue fabric and sewing supplies. He draped the fabric over a dress form pinning it down and cutting it. Lilia may not be well versed in cooking, but he could sew well enough. He measured the dress form; he stopped and spoke.
“Oh, dear how that child has grown. It seems like only yesterday I brought him here.” Lilia started to tear up a bit. “Just a tiny baby. After today he’ll be a…” He cut himself off. “And I won’t be his father, just a distant memory of times passed… He wiped after his tears with his long sleeves. “But I knew this day would come. But so soon… I’ve been with him and I’ve been all he knew for sixteen years. Such wonderful years of my hundreds. After finishing part of the suit, he moved on to start the cake. He got out all the necessary tools.
“Alright then, first four cups of flour. Then two eggs.” He stopped looking closer at the book. “Fold in gently?” He shrugged and put the eggs in folding the batter. He pressed down a bit and a faint crack was heard. He stopped a had a worried look on him but paid no mind to it. “Yeast… one tbsp” He put his batter covered hand on his lip in confusion. “Oh right tablespoon!” He then licked it off continuing to add sugar, and cinnamon.

Fairy Names Pt. 2
Fly with you! It’s been a while hasn’t it? Anyway, I’m here for a second part of one of my most popular posts.
The first post listed fairy names that were used in the DS game “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” in the create-a-fairy section of the game. While the names provided were feminine, I have pulled all of the masculine fairy names from the original Pixie Hollow game. Some names are repeats from the original post, but I kept them in as I wanted to get this out as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy. Here’s the original post.
