At the end of Phantom Menace, during the funeral of Qui-Gon Jinn, we get possibly my favourite single shot of the entire Star Wars franchise. Yoda and Windu have just discussed which of the two Sith were destroyed, "the master or the apprentice?" And then, we slowly cut across Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padme before settling on Palpatine. Even if you don't approve of them giving away the twist of his character to those who didn't already know, it's undeniably a chilling moment.
And it's even better when, as was pointed out to me on a few occasions, you realise there's further foreshadowing with the placement of the characters. Anakin on one side, Palpatine on the other, with Obi-Wan and Padme between them. Those two are the ones who both metaphorically and literally stand between the future Emperor and his eventual apprentice. No idea if that really was intentional by George, but if it was, then my hat is off to the man, because that is some fine symbolism there :)

A reminder to the "the American government wouldn't..." crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time. George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform. The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
