Valentines Day Drabble
Dagon
Dagon takes a deep breath and clutches the bouquet of wildflowers to their chest. Their heart jumps to their throat when they hear your front door open. They turn around to face you with a big, goofy grin and red cheeks. They thrust the flowers into your chest. âHappy Valentines Day, chickadee!â They cheer. They shuffle their feet as you take the flowers and inspect them. âI know youâre probably tired of flowers, thanks to Dante, buuut I picked these. And looked up their meanings! âŠ..They might not be the most accurate, though, aha,â Dagon scratches the back of their neck, âIâm not great at research and stuff, you know that. But I tried my best!â
They shake their head, âAnyways! I was wondering if you had any specific plans? For today? If not, Iâd like to go on a little⊠walk. Show you something you might like!â You tell them you have some time before whatever you had planned, and would love to take a walk with them. Their smile grows, if itâs even possible. âOh, good; great!! Iâll let you put your shoes on and stuff. Oh, and uh, leave the flowers here. You probably donât want them to wilt or anything like that.â
Dagon takes your hand and leads you towards the direction of town. They donât stop in town, though. They lead you right through, towards the woods. You both cross the railroad tracks and step onto the path. Then, they lead you carefully off the path towards a little clearing. A couple of thick blankets sit in the middle. A visibly full basket sits on those blankets. âNothing like a picnic, huh? Little cold, but we should be okay,â Dagon says, letting go of your hand. They beckon you towards the set up, telling you all about what theyâve packed.
Tindra
Tindra smiles softly to you as you open the front door. âHullo, angel. Happy Valentines,â She greets, presenting you with a clumsily wrapped box. The only way you could tell she was flustered was by her eyes, which are a little wider than usual. âIâve cleared my schedule for you. Father wasnât happy about that, but he can shove it. My only concern today is you and making you happy,â She says, a tiny bit of anger popping into her voice when mentioning her father. You move away from the door, inviting her into your home.
You manage to clear the kitchen for yourself and Tindra. She gently prompts you to open her gift. You easily tear the heart-decorated wrapping paper and open the box to find a pink, white and red desert tray laid out for you neatly; three cupcakes with perfect white icing, chocolate pretzels, marshmallows, truffles, and cookies along with some of your favorite candy. When you look at the blond across the table, sheâs watching you intensely. She actually blushes when she realizes youâre looking at her, âDo⊠do you like it, angel?â
Laverne
Laverne smiles brightly as you open your front door. âHappy Valentines Day, lovey!â He borderline screams, holding out a giant box of chocolates and dropping a teddy bear that was tucked under his arm. He curses, scrambles to pick it up and winces as he holds that out too. His blush is bright, easy to see and his unusual fluster is admittedly cute. âIâŠ. really have no idea what Iâm doing honestly, lovey. Sorry if itâs too cheesy or cringy for you. I wouldâve taken you to a fancy restaurant or something like that, but the idea makes me a little uncomfy. But, we can still have a good day around town! We can roam around the shops, and Iâll buy you whatever you want!â He rambles, showing off his nervousness.Â
Seems youâd have to take the reins from here. But you know that no matter what you do, Laverne would be happy to spend the day with you.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how weak are the RO to MC's puppy eyes?
As teens,
Laverne is a 9; he caves surprisingly quick lol. There are very few things that he won't give or do for MC. If MC told him to jump, he'd ask how high lol.
Tindra is a 2; she can hang on pretty good. She only gives in if it's a special occasion or something like that.
Dagon is a 5; they don't usually see the point in not giving you what you want or doing what you want to do. But they can put their foot down and be stubborn when they want or need to.

2,3,8,14 and 27 for Monica,Tindra and Laverne please?
Oof, that's a lot lol. I'm also going to change this a bit since I've decided to grow a brain today
2. Most likely to stay up too late?
Out of the three? Monica, especially as she gets older.
Tindra will fall asleep the second the clock hits ten pm.
Laverne has a surprisingly good sleep schedule thanks to his sport(s).
3. Most likely to turn everything into a competition?
Out of the three it would be Monica again.
Laverne can be competitive, but only with hockey.
Tindra just... doesn't really care if presented with a competition or something like that thanks to her brother Markus.
8. Most likely to burst into song every now and then?
None of them would burst into song, really. Monica and Tindra are a bit too shy about the music they like, and Laverne hates singing since he thinks he's tone-deaf (which is correct).
14. Most likely to make friends out of strangers?
I think it would be Tindra here. She's pretty shy, but she's the most friendly out of the three listed.
Monica and Laverne are very suspicious of strangers, but Laverne would go with the flow if he didn't think he'd get hurt. Monica would just, yell at them to go away lol.
27. Most likely to get asked for advice?
Tindra, hands down. Whether it's good or not is a different story, lol.
Monica actively tries to discourage people from walking up to her to ask her things, even as a kid, and wouldn't give you any kind of advice.
And Laverne... you'd have to find him if you wanted to ask him for advice. He's one of those kids that you can't find unless he wants you to find him. If you do find him, though, he'd give surprisingly good advice.

3,4 for Dagon and Tindra pleaseđ?
I'm answering this assuming that the two are teens; hope that's okay with you!
3. What is your favorite childhood memory? Dagon put a hand to their cheek, "My favorite memory? It's probably when Dante invited me to play with him and his friends. That was the first time another kid wanted me around, then he defended me! That honestly made my whole week. And, MC helped too! They weren't mean to me, they didn't laugh at me, none of that! It blew my mind as a six-year-old." They laughed after that, their normal cheery smile set in place.
Tindra answered with no hesitation, "The first parade my family went to with MC's family. Before then, I'd always hated parades. They were too loud and bright, there were always too many people. Then that Christmas parade happened, Mr Fox invited us to go with him and his family. My parents dragged me and my older siblings along. When the parade actually started, I started freaking out. But MC helped me calm down and get through the rest of the night. I... still don't like parades, but they're always more bearable when MC is around." She got a soft look on her face shaking her head and started busying herself with whatever she was doing before.
4. What is your least favorite childhood memory?
Dagon snapped their fingers, "That's a easy one; the time I was pushed into the creek. This kid that was way bigger than me had seen me wandering around the neighborhood on my own and waltzed over. He said he wanted to show me the woods, and I was all too happy to follow, cause I love the woods! So, I followed him. He stopped at the edge of the creek, grabbed me by the shoulders and threw me in. He said... somethin', I don't remember exactly what, but he said somethin'. Then he started walking away. I hauled my sorry butt out of the creek, soaking wet in the dead of winter, and made my way home. My parents were pissed, which is understandable, y'know? Oh, they weren't mad at me! They were mad at that kid! ... I never found out his name, but I seen him around every holiday. He was probably visiting family in New Pine..." They trailed off after that, lost in their thoughts.
Tindra's face scrunched up slightly, "Hmm. My least favorite memory is... hard to place. I think it was the day Agnes, my older sister, started college. That left me and Markus to pick up her share of the chores, since she decided to live on campus. That first day with her gone was rough. She was the second strongest in the family, and so she did a lot of the heavy lifting. Father was having a hard time when she left; his back was hurting him. Markus and I figured we could handle it, but we couldn't. We did figure it out, though."

What's are the ROs' favorite family tradition?
Dagon and their family don't have a whole lot of traditions that they hold onto; Prior to them moving in across the street from the MC, they didn't stay in one place for longer than a month or two. But, they do have one that they enjoy; around the start of the Holiday season Dagon and their family will make apple-cinnamon tea and watch Holiday movies for movie night!
Tindra and her family have a gingerbread house competition every Christmas that started the first Christmas they experienced in America. The family teams up in groups of 2-3 and try to make the best gingerbread house they can in a hour and a half. The reining champions have been Markus and their grandmother Aamu, sometimes Tindra is part of the team.
Laverne's favorite family tradition doesn't actually happen during winter; it happens during spring. It's his family reunion! It happens every spring, at roughly the same time and sometimes the same place, lol. The reason why is somehow his moms were always the ones who ended up with all the leftovers, so they weren't stressed for a few days. He liked seeing them not busting their butts to make sure him and his sister could eat.

Where do the ROs see themselves in 10 years?
Hmm, well, let's see...
Dagon wants to travel! They... aren't sure how, but they'll figure it out!
Tindra... has a hard time looking that far ahead, aha. If she had to guess, she thinks she'd still be helping out around her family's farm.
And Laverne likes to think his sister would be nicer to him in ten years... well, nicer to anyone, really. And, he'd like to think he'd find people who're willing to play hockey with him.

What song would best sums the ROs up?
Hmm, well, I don't have songs that really sums the ROs up, but I have songs I associate with the ROs!
For Dagon, Crush by Tessa Violet or Backyard Boy by Claire Rosinkranz.
For Tindra, rises the moon by Liana Flores.
And for Laverne, it's Best Friend by Rex Orange County. Meet Me at Our Spot by The Anxiety, Willow, and Tyler Cole comes close, though!

For Tindra: If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?
She would probably ask about her family and how they'll turn out; Tindra loves her family, but there's a fair amount of drama happening most of the time.

đč ROSE - do they like valentines day? have they been confessed to before? have they confessed to anyone before? for Tindra?
Tindra loves Valentines Day! Mostly as a excuse to bake her heart out, haha.
No one has confessed to her; people tend to find her off-putting thanks to how quiet she is. And she's thought about confessing to someone, but backed out at the last minute... which was for the better, honestly.

This is such a sweet game! I love it! I had a question, will Tindra be a love interest after our characters grow up?
Hi! Yes, Tindra will be a love interest! There's only three love interests, for my sanity, ha.

A Life Worth Living is a WIP interactive novel that's heavily inspired by the game Our Life. It's also the first game I've started working on seriously, so bare with me.
Age rating; +13
| You can find the demo here! |
New Pine Creek, or just New Pine, was an idyllic little country town with more farms and farmers than you knew what to do with. Every season was picturesque there, especially winter. It snowed every year, and looked like the picture off of a holiday popcorn can every holiday season.
You lived in New Pine since you were a baby. For a while, you were one of the only âyounger kidsâ in town, since the kids that moved in tended to be eight and older, or babies that you couldnât play with. Really, people moved in and out all the time; it became a normal part of your life that kids didnât tend to stay. Until the weekend before winter break, that is. Two new families moved in; one next door and the other across the street. And a girl your age started visiting more, since her brother started visiting more. These three kids were all your age, six. Unlike the others, they became a staple part of your life. But, did you really get along with them? As you grew up, did you remain close?
Your Dad, Fox: (He/him, 30) A tall man with black hair and bronze skin. He works hard to make sure you and your siblings have whatever you all want. Heâs sunny and sweet with a sharp edge that he turns towards people he doesnât trust, though you donât see that much. He explains everything he can to you & your siblings, and if he doesnât understand he isnât afraid to ask for help! You donât see a lot of adults do that! Some people are put off by your dad, but you donât understand why.
Your Older Brother, Dante: (he/him, 10) A boy with Dadâs hair and bronze skin. He doesnât have his height, though. He strives to be just like Dad, and greatly enjoys sharing his hobbies. He hopes to stream video games online, like your Dad does now. He also makes you follow him around, ever the protective older brother. He takes an interest in the things you like, too. Even if it was frilly pink dresses or the scariest horror movies you could find, heâs willing to follow you through it all.
Your Younger Sister, Monica: (she/her, 4) A toddler with dark magenta hair and pale skin, She doesnât care about much. Your sisterâs goal right now is to destroy her toys, roughhouse with your brother, and run wild. Too bad she canât do that last bit, but she can do everything else!
Dagon Abram: (They/them, 6) A excitable kid with curly fawn colored hair and matching brown eyes; their pockets are seemingly endless, with how much stuff they carry with them all the time; a pack of chalk, candy, a pinecone, a mini shovel? A live frog?! A-anyway, Dagon is more than happy to follow along with whatever you want to do. They, like your brother, are more than happy to indulge in your interests, even if they arenât really enjoying it. With how hard they try, itâs almost like theyâve never had a friend beforeâŠ
Markus Laaksonen: (He/him, 10) A boy with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes; He lives to cause as much trouble as he can. Heâs been a part of your life forever now, since heâs your brother's best friend. He lives on a farm just outside town, but rides into town everyday to hang out with your brother. Heâs grown protective over you and Monica, and has started bringing his sister with him to visit town.
Tindra Laaksonen: (She/her, 6) A shy girl with platinum blonde hair and deep blue eyes, she reads more than she talks. She is a loner who prefers animals to people, but is willing to talk to you if you strike up a conversation. She carries a stuffed owl with her everywhere; in fact, owls are her favorite animals! No one hangs out with her at school, they say sheâs âweird,â but you know better than them! âŠRight?
Laverne Berne: (he/him, 6) A boy with teal colored hair and green eyes, he isnât very approachable. He doesnât talk, either, instead he uses sign language and a notepad to communicate with others. You do know that he likes snowboarding, anything about snowboarding makes him open up. He gets mad easily, but this seems exaggerated. You wonder why...
Play as male, female, or nonbinary; straight, bi, gay, ace, aro, demisexual, or demiromantic! Explore your gender as you grow up, or find that you just donât have one.
Make a friend(or three) for life, or fall in love with your childhood best friend!Â
Develop your hobbies and interests, and share them with a family whoâre more than willing to take part! Most of them, anywayâŠ
Influence the other kids' personalities as they grow, and maybe even their appearance and interests!
Walk through memory lane; remembering the sleepovers you had, the snowball fights you won(or lost), or that time you almost got hit by a sleigh!
Feel free to ask me about any of the characters!
