Just got back from John Tracy's astrophysics guest lecture at Oxford uni :D he was so nice and really interesting - I had no idea he'd studied there either! He brought his own holographic software for the presentation though which was kinda weird because the computer interface seemed to insult people in the front row every now and again?? 🕵️‍♀️ Hard Lacquer by Amelia Allore, it's a webcomic about lesbian spies, there's some proper handsome butches, a fast read (though ongoing) and GORGEOUS colors! I'm pretty sure it's posted here, on Tapas, and on it's own website.

🌌 On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden (or really any Tillie Walden work) - like 500 pages but completed and worth every one, it's about a girl travelling across space to find her lost love from boarding school. Set in a universe with no men and no desire to have to justify it. Walden's work is gorgeous as usual and it doesn't really have any big scifi jargon that would normally push people away from the genre. The spaceships are fish! It has a dedicated website you can read it

okay, so five characters i think i'm most like - suga, asahi, bubbles (powerpuff girls), tina (bob's burgers), & lucy (narnia)

i don't really know how to explain it tbh. lucy specifically is because i watch the first movie and i see the dynamic with her and her siblings and it reminds me a LOT of how my older brothers were with me growing up. like i see any youngest sister character in a piece of media and im like 'oh they're just like me'. i'm also really sensitive like i try not to be annoying about it or anything but it is so easy to make me cry. bubbles was my favorite powerpuff girl for that reason when i was a kid! tina is literally me when i was 13 (minus the boy crazy part), i was SO awkward. i still am tbh but not as much.. i think. and genuinely bob and linda are like an exaggerated version of my parents, its so funny.

suga and asahi are just vibes i guess... i latched pretty quickly onto suga because i found him relatable. and quite frankly i am a massive scaredy cat. asahi is so me-core.

Había llegado del velorio de mi padre, el escribano me había dado una carta que el me había dejado. Estuve todo el caminó deduciendo que había escrito, estaba tan desbordada que para leerla necesitaba calmarme, ya que eran sus últimas palabras hacia mi. Llegando a casa me decidí por tomarme un baño, mientras preparaba la tina, me percaté de que sin querer me había llevado la carta hasta ahí, estaba tan sumergida en el agua que el ambiente estaba demasiado tranquilo, así que decidí leerla.

Querida hija, cuando leas está carta ya pasare a mejor vida, no porque yo quiera, sino porque ya cumplí mi legado, es complicado de explicar, se que es extraño y asusta un poco lo que pueda decir a continuación pero quiero que entiendas que esto viene de generaciones y a llegado tú momento, lamento decírtelo por escrito pero no tuve tiempo, pronto va a llegar pero no te asusté cuando esté ahí, lo vas a sentir solo tienes que dejarlo entrar...

Mientras leía la carta me empezaba a sentir ansiosa, no se cuánto tiempo paso pero el agua ya empezaba a enfriarse, iba a salir cuando de pronto las luces del baño se apagaron, sentí un escalofrío recorriendo todo mi cuerpo, una mala sensación, de pronto una fuerza inexplicable me jaló hacía al fondo de la tina y ahí lo ví, millones de imágenes en mi cabeza pasan en micro segundos una más desagradable y nauseabunda que otra.
