Note
Season greetings to you my friend, I’m Izzy a 23y/o TransWoman who’s living under fear and terror from my Parents and hiding my socials from my Aunt who runs a big blog on this app. I’ve been threatened with a 14 year jail term by my dad and correctional home by Mom. My aunt caught some my interactions on this app and promised to tell my parents so they can act quick on me. I’m looking to flee to a more safer and transphobic free country to start afresh before my religious parents make their moves on me. Calling on all LGBTQ+ family to come to my aid— you can see my detailed story coupled with the link to help me by blog(last reblog). Thanks for taking your time to read. A boost on the post will also mean the world to me. God bless you my friend.
Hi! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope you can get out soon! What your family is doing is not ok, and I hope you can get somewhere safe so you can expose your aunt for being a viper preying on our community. Just a couple tips. Mostly, if you cold question folks who do not have it somewhere in their blog that they boost posts, you’re not going to get much reaction. We usually view these as spam. I’m choosing to take you on faith because your blog looks legit, but lots of people will just delete. However! There are a couple ways to raise money!
One, send an ask to @vaspider on here. He has a big following and he publishes all asks and reblogs fundraising posts for everybody. You’ll get a lot more eyes, mostly of the lgbtq community, on your posts. Secondly, contact @copperbadge for their Radio Free Monday posts, they do a lot of fundraising boosts for people on that day specifically and will boost your fundraiser.
Thirdly, if you haven’t already, make a Mastodon account on one of the many lgbtq servers like lgbtqia.space or lgbt.io or for any particular interest you have. Do NOT sign up on the main mastodon.social server. The smaller mastodon servers have large lgbtq presences and many allies around the world. Once you’re on there, you can join a group called @[email protected] and tag them in a crowdfunding post. This will get you out of the same circles as your aunt, and I have had much better responses to crowdfunding there than here.
There are also international organizations that are meant to help people in your situation. The one that comes to mind is Rainbow Railroad www.rainbowrailroad.org. If you go to their website from somewhere safe and click their request help button, they may be able to help you with everything you need, because you’ll need more than just money if your fleeing your country.
Finally, don’t be ashamed to hit up any friends you have, even if they’re not strictly allies. You don’t have to tell them WHY you need to move out of your parents, just tell them it’s not safe for you there and you need help. You never know, they might be willing to help!
Good luck, and I wish I could send some money your way but I am unfortunately between paychecks and have no money right now.

Event Info
WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation challenge (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are 31 Official themes this year - one for each day of the month - which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don't have to include the exact wording into your work). Additionally, there are 3 prompts for each theme.  These are optional suggestions and can be used in conjunction with the theme, or as options/alternatives.  We want to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible, as well as increase event accessibility for folks with triggers and squicks.
Creators can PRODUCE work in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, and photo/video/audio edits. Creators can PARTICIPATE as much or as little as they want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.
When uploading Whumptober content to your blog, be sure to tag the with:
#whumptober2020 …..(the event tag)
#no.1, #no.2, #no.3, …..(theme number)
#bruised, #stabbed,  …..(the theme or specific prompt you chose)
#fandom or #OC
#medium …..(gifs, fic, podcast, art, etc.)
#teeth, #etc …..(trigger warnings & any additional tags. Keep in mind not to add “tw” in front but only use the word/trigger itself, because tumblr sucks)
#nsfw, #nsfwhump …..(only for nsfw content)
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING. Only properly tagged posts are considered for archiving on the official @whumptober2020 blog. They must be tagged in the order above.
Unfortunately, due to the sheer number of participants in recent years, we cannot guarantee your work will be archived. A random selection of properly tagged posts from all genres will be reblogged each day.
Whumpers who produce content for 31 total theme days are considered event completionists and will be tagged in a masterpost at the end of the month.
Questions not addressed below can be directed to this blog as well.
Thanks for reading, and happy whumping!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What kind of content can I make? Can it be NSFW?
This is a MIXED MEDIA event! You can write fic, post meta, doodle or paint, create a gif set or photo edit, link a song, or get crafty with video - anything goes. As for NSFW, make what you like, we just hope that you’ll tag your work accordingly so that others participating in the event can stay safe :)
Q. Do I have to do all 31 Days? Can I post early/late?
Participate as much or little as you like, and post whenever! Just be sure to tag your posts properly (ex. #no.11, #psych101). Combining prompts into one piece of work is okay, and posting late is as well so as long as it’s in October.
Q. What if I don’t understand a theme?
Send us an ask! We’re happy to help clarify. That said, the themes are entirely up for interpretation :)
Q. Can I combine Whumptober with other creation challenges?
Absolutely! That’s like shooting two whumpees with one bullet :)
Q. Can I upload/repost my whumptober content to other social media platforms?
Of course! We’ve created an AO3 Collection to archive any fics posted there. The archive can be accessed here. The blog is the official archive, so please respect the boundaries of any closeted whumpers in your social circle :)
Q. Can I use prompts to write a new chapter for an existing fic?
Yes
Q. An existing fic I am currently writing contains many of the Whumptober prompts, can I use it?
If you are actively writing this fic at the moment with the whumptober prompts in mind, yes. If it just conveniently checks the boxes, then please don’t. You can, however, add new chapters answering one or more of the prompts.
Q. What kind of characters can I write for?
Fandom characters, OC characters, human, furry, alien, cyborg, whoever you like.
Q. Can I use a prompt multiple times?
Yes,  but it only counts once
Q. If I’m not comfortable with one day's prompts can I use a prompt of a different day as a substitute and still be a completionist?
Yes, but please do not use a specific prompt twice. We have also created an alternate prompts list that you can draw from [here].
Q. Where can I post my work?
Post where and how you want. You don’t even have to (cross)post it to Tumblr. Just keep in mind if it’s not on Tumblr we will not be able to add it to the blog archive.
Q. Can I start posting early?
You can, but this is an October event and wouldn’t it be more fun with everyone doing it at the same time? That being said, you can post early, but we won’t be reblogging any work predating October 1st.
Q. Do I have to finish a fic I started/can I post WIP’s.?
Yes you can post WIPs. And you’re not obligated to finish it in October for it to count towards being a completionist.
Q. Is co-writing allowed?
Yes, absolutely, and it would count towards being a completionist for both/all of you :)
Q. Do I have to create 31 standalone pieces to be considered a completionist or can I write one continuous story?
One continuous story is fine.  The challenge is to write something for 31 prompts. If that’s spread over 31 fics or just one, you are still considered a completionist. (The same goes for every other media you choose.)
Q. Is there a min/max limit on word count?
There is no limit
Q. Can I combine prompts? Is there a limit on how many?
No limit and combine as many as you’d like.
Q. Is a hc/angst focus ok?
Of course!
Q. What’s considered nsfw?
See this post
Q. What's whump?
See this post
Q. My interpretation of the prompt isn't whumpy at all, does that count?
No, sorry, but keep in mind that whump [see definition] is something very nuanced and different for everyone and emotional whump/angst is just as much part of it, as is physical whump and torture. So before you dismiss your idea, think about this.
Q. Can I start working on the prompts before October?
Absolutely! That’s why we posted the prompts a month in advance. We recognise how difficult it can be creating for 31 days in “real time”.
Q. How do I tag triggers?
tw at the end of the word, ex. emeto tw
Q. Do I have to use your tags?
Yes, if you want your work archived on the blog. If not, feel free to use whatever tags you want.
Q. Does combining prompts count towards completion?
Yes
Q. Can we @ you?
Yes but we mostly rely on the whumptober2020 tag
Q. Is there anything we are absolutely not allowed to write?
There are no rules, just be sure to properly tag your trigger warnings. And keep in mind Tumblr’s policies if you are posting it here (or the policies of whatever site you use).
Q. Where can I go for brainstorming help?
Here on Discord
Q. My characters are minors, is that ok?
Yes, but as with everything else, tags are your best friend.
Q. Can I cross post on other blogs?
Yes, multiple platforms and blogs are perfectly acceptable. You can also post different works to different accounts under different names, without posting them everywhere at once.
Note: This is a creation challenge, please don’t repost your old work under our tags (unless it’s been changed or edited for the event).

Alright tell me why my dumbass didn’t realize you had a load of stories on AO3... tell me why I’ve been moping around because I had no Lukanette to read and it was sitting right under my nose! Excuse me while I fall down that rabbit hole.
LOL tosses down a rope and yells “Don’t forget to eat and hydrate!”
I try to make sure everybody knows where to find all my stuff and keep things organized. I was just thinking it was time for another housekeeping post so thanks for the excuse! Here goes, and I’m gonna be extra thorough this time! I apologize up front for my wordiness, I don’t even fight it anymore, so for the TLDR folks I’ll try to bold the important stuff.
Just so you know what you’re getting into, my work is pretty much all Lukanette all the time and I like to think the sodium content is pretty low (I’m gonna level with you guys I am getting really sick of all these ‘Oh, if only there were Lukanette fics that weren’t mean to Adrien, but alas! they do not exist’ posts I’ve been seeing. Insert Will Smith gif here).
All my work on tumblr can be found under the tag quickspins and everything that’s part of a series has a series tag, and I try to link back to the other pieces.
Here’s my AO3. I personally think it’s the easiest place to find my stuff if you’re looking to binge, and some of my older works from there are not on Tumblr yet, which include:
I’ll Give You the Stars (which I’m currently in the process of posting here)
Second Chance (which is queued up next and pairs well with IGYTS)
Finding Harmony (which is probably my favorite piece to date, honestly, sort of my mostly-unsalty fix-it for Season 3) (does it count as salt if it’s Lila acting like Lila?)
All That’s Best of Dark and Bright (my very first Lukanette fic)
Can’t Stop the Pain (just a quick little thought piece mostly)
Until It Doesn’t Hurt (because who hasn’t written a post-puppeteer fixit at this point)
A Time to Every Purpose (the sort of sequel)
Take a Chance (a college AU that I did for the first week of Lukanette September)
Okay, that was more stuff than I realized, wow. I’m pretty sure everything else is cross-posted. The only thing on tumblr not on AO3 that I can think of is Payback and the April Kisses pieces I’ve been doing. However it will all end up on AO3 eventually so if you are worried about missing something, you can subscribe to my author updates on AO3 and get ALL THE THINGS.
Go nuts, leave me as many comments as you feel like! I promise my reaction to an inbox full of comments is not eek a stalker it is always OMG BEST DAY EVER.
If you run out of my work, because I do have to sleep sometime, check out my AO3 bookmarks for other awesome Lukanette writers (and actually a few really good LS fics too believe it or not, I have been known to venture out of my niche once in a while). There’s a little bit of everything there so even if you find some that aren’t to your taste keep clicking, I promise there’s good stuff there.
Links are in my blog header too if you lose this post, and you can also follow me if you’re looking for Lukanette because I try to reblog most of the Lukanette content I find. We’re all in this little ship together and I love to share other people’s work as well as my own. I strongly believe in supporting other content creators so love to all of you out there, even if you haven’t been brave enough to hit that publish button yet.
Please remember also that authors crave your feedback so try to leave some when you can. I try to answer all of my AO3 comments and anything that comes in my ask box; it’s a little harder for me to respond to replies in the notes here for some reason but I still love them just as much, and I love it when people leave some love in the reblog tags too. So, don’t feel bad if you can’t, but if you can, I’d love it if you did.
My ask box is open too, so if you have questions or can’t find something or you’re just curious, I promise that in real life I am seriously uncool and nobody you should be afraid of, so if you’re thinking about dropping me a note please feel safe and loved doing so.

What does the “ts” part of your “not colin for ts” tag stand for?
“Tumblr Savior”! It’s one of the more common browser extensions for blacklisting things on Tumblr. Some people use XKit for their blacklisting (honestly, I use both, because I’m a stickler for organization and thoroughness lol), but TS is more commonly recognized as being FOR blacklisting, so it tends to be the one people use in tags more often.
The reason I added it to my “notcolin” tag is because a lot of times I’ll post whumpy content that isn’t specifically about Colin, but could easily work as a prompt or aesthetic or even a ficlet about one of his characters. Tagging such things as “not colin” kinda felt like I was saying I DON’T see the content as being related to Colin or his characters in any way - and given the nature of my blog, most of the pure-whump content I post CAN be likened back to him or one of his characters in SOME way. So it seemed best to clarify that things are “notcolin for ts” so everybody knows the tag is only there for folks who are blocking all content that isn’t specifically about Colin or his work.
Incidentally, I went with “notcolin” as one word, because it’s a lot easier and works a lot better, I think anyway, to block one unique word like that than “not Colin” because a lot of posts might include sentences with that mix of words, but it’s unlikely anything else will accidentally get blocked if my Colin-only followers block “notcolin” :)

Easily promote your content for free in 8 ways!
Tumblr media
As a piece of writing writer, you produce articles almost every day, and does one want your articles to be read by everyone in a short time? Then this content may be a reward for any writer who likes to write articles.
I have been writing articles on various platforms for years. except for the last 3 months, I even have been actively producing articles on Medium and Vocal. media. I lookout to forming the articles I produce original and unique.
When I wrote on Medium, only 351 people had read my articles in my first month. It’s great for the primary month, of course, but the reading time of the articles was short on my behalf of me. That’s why I started employing a method to market my articles for free of charge so as to extend reading times.
1. Facebook
Facebook is an important option for article writers. I’m sure many writers use Facebook to share their articles and gain an audience. Facebook in fact gives you traffic the higher way. But those that don’t use Facebook well complain that few people read their articles.
How do I exploit Facebook?
E.g; Let’s say I’m writing about paint.
The written article is typically thrown into groups for authors on Facebook. In fact, this is often a way that everybody has tried.
I also share the articles I wrote about paint to paint-related groups with a pleasant explanation. In this way, the important readership involves the content.
Note: I’m trying this method, but some groups might not accept it because I share a link. you’ll get simpler results if you explain it kindly rather than sharing an immediate link.
2. Quora
Quora is one of the world’s largest audience sites for asking questions, solving, and sharing content. I will be able to not enter details about Quadra but to find out other details, you’ll learn the small print during this content on ‘Medium Alternative Top 5 Websites That Make Money.
How do I exploit Quora?
Anyone can create their own group and subdomain. I feel this is often one of the features that create Quora unique. The content you create must be unique and original. Therefore, you’ll promote your article by creating replacement content in your own group and adding it as a source to the previous article you wrote.
Note: I apply this method and I have had success. However, this method may take time if you are doing not have an audience in your group.
3. Blogspot
It is one of the websites you’ll use to make and promote your own blog. Blogspot is one of the oldest sites for bloggers who maybe want to create links to their own posts.
How do I exploit Blogspot?
First of all, after creating content anywhere, I produce content that’s almost like the content I first created, but original, as in Quora. Then I add resources to the content I first produced. In this way, the user who reads on Blogspot can read your other link when he’s more curious.
Note: you’ll do that on many platforms. It should be noted that your articles don’t plagiarize. albeit this is often your own writing, you ought to not plagiarize.
4. Twitter
A lot of individuals on Twitter just post their posts and obtain upset because nobody reads their posts. the rationale for the sadness was that they said that he had fewer followers.
I want to think so too.
I follow trends on Twitter. once I found the tag associated with my content and shared my link, I got 3 thousand views on a primary day. and that I did it in only 3 hours. There really may be a pretty good audience on Twitter.
To do this, you would like two tools that are free on Twitter. one among them is Tweetdeck (to organize content faster), and therefore the other is analytics. Twitter (the tool you’ll use to ascertain what percentage of people read your post).
Note: I did these with 0 followers and I think anyone can roll in the hay too. you’ll just use tags that suit you to urge better engagement.
5. Steemit
It is a blockchain-based website where users share blog content and earn rewards (crypto) as a result. Now, I see that folks in Asian countries use it. There isn’t an enormous audience, but there are some good winners once you do some missions.
I haven’t been ready to earn on steemit yet. But I mostly use this place (for now) to market my content. On Steemit, the content must be original and unique. In this way, your content will appear in search engines.
How do I exploit Steemit?
I share my very own content on steemit the platform where I create my content. And I’m adding it as a source under the content. In this way, an individual who reads the content directs me to the article.
Note: there’s the concept of rank in Steemit. If your rank is low, the content doesn’t stand out much. But once you increase your rank, the content can reach more people. you’ll also examine the groups on steemit to extend the rank.
6. Reddit
I think there’s nobody who doesn’t know Reddit. But to elucidate briefly; Social media structure like Facebook is one among the social media platforms with the most important audience in the world. It’s very easy to seek out entertainment, information, mystery, or any news on Reddit, there are numerous resources for that.
While using Reddit, the content I usually shared was deleted. which made me very sad. once you check out it, he was complaining that he couldn’t share his content on many Reddit.
So how do I exploit Reddit?
You can write a title and outline and add resources to the groups on Reddit (which should be associated with your content). Resources shouldn’t appear as spam. Otherwise, Reddit bots can block you.
For those that will do that for the primary time; keep trying until you’re good, and you’ll eventually succeed.
Note: Although I wrote an outline, most of the content was deleted thanks to Reddit bots. I assume it had been because I’m a replacement member. Since I shared it from time to time, the content wasn’t deleted. In short, it might be better for you to upload once each day to avoid getting caught by bots.
7. Pinterest
Pinterest may be a good source of backlinks for SEO work and to maneuver your content to the highest. There are many of us who get traffic to content in this manner.
So how do I exploit Pinterest?
I pin and share the content I created on the board I created myself. In this way, a number of my audience comes from Pinterest because Google carries the content higher.
Note: Having followers is important for Pinterest traffic. Otherwise, fewer users will visit your content. But daily content sharing without hesitation will take you to the highest of Google. That’s why you’ve got to stay going without abandoning.
8. Youtube
I don’t think I want to mention that YouTube is one of the foremost visited sites in the world. Even now, many people are watching or uploading various videos on youtube. That’s why there’s a pleasant crowd expecting us there.
So how do I drive traffic to my content with no youtube videos?
E.g; I created content about cars. and therefore the content I create should be readable, top quality, and crowd-pleasing.
First of all, I find the relevant video and write a comment within the comment section to support and suggest to the channel owner about the video. Thus, the comment is neither perceived as spam nor deleted. this is often how I exploit it on youtube together with the opposite resources.
Note: don’t just share links within the comment section or stand back from trap words like click. Otherwise, your comment could also be deleted by youtube or reported by the channel owner. Sentences written with gorgeous expressions are going to be permanent.
The tips above provide an excellent starting line for increasing your search rankings! That said, there’s such a lot more you’ll do beyond these essentials to enhance your site’s performance even further. By partnering with an experienced SEO agency like Brandingsavior, you’ll cash in on those strategies more.

Content Marketing All-Stars Q&A: Brooks Thomas of Southwest Airlines
Tumblr media
Tell great stories.
Southwest takes that often heard—and extraordinarily effective—advice to heart. The airline excels at creating content that engages, compels, and inspires. Over and over, the company produces pieces which tell extraordinary stories about its customers, its employees, and its brand.
How do they do it? Recently we chatted with Brooks Thomas, Social Business Advisor at Southwest Airlines, to find out.
Check out the full Q&A below:
Q: Starting broadly, what role does digital content play for Southwest? Why are you creating it?
A: Content plays a big role for us because it gives us the ability to tell a wide array of stories.
We pride ourselves on having the best employees in the industry and the best customers in the industry. Telling their stories authentically—I know that word is cliché—is what we seek to do.
We have both employees and customers sharing so many interesting moments; from trip planning, to the Southwest experience, to the lasting impact travel leaves. We want to harness all that and tell emotional stories.
Q: What is the team like that is pulling together these stories?
A: It’s not a single team, this really is a company effort.
We enable any Southwest employee who has a really good story to be able to tell it. We provide the platforms for them to share it on, and we’ve got teams like Social Business—which I reside on—curating those pieces.
We and the Social Customer Care folks are constantly harvesting customer and employee stories. Often that process starts with something as simple as a mention of Southwest on Twitter, or Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.
We look as an enterprise – it really does transcend individual teams – how to distribute those stories internally and externally. Content at Southwest drives a larger narrative that extends beyond where it was curated. We look for ways to integrate it in other channels, in training opportunities, and shout-outs from leadership during major news and announcements.
Everybody here, in every team and in every city, is part of telling our story. That’s how it should be—everyone involved is part of the Southwest story.
Q: What are the mechanisms for employees sharing stories? Which platforms do you use to share and find stories?
A: There are a couple of different ways, but the one that is the most practical, and maybe the most obvious, is our robust internal online groups, particularly on Facebook.
Employees can go in and tag the right person with their story, and depending on the type of content it’ll make it to the right team. It’s a hub-and-spoke model for sharing.
We’ve had these Facebook groups for five or six years now and they’ve become very popular. People learn over time who to tag within the company. We’re like a family at Southwest; name almost any city or airport and I could tell you the name of somebody who is eager jump into action and help.
Social has helped to cultivate that company community. Friendships that used to be infrequent – “Hey I’ll see you a couple times a year because we work on opposite sides of the country” – can now be sustained digitally. Now people are able to constantly share really cool stuff with each other, which magnifies their relationships and also helps us cultivate an environment where the sharing is constant
Q: We’re big fans of the Southwest Stories on the website. Can you talk a bit about how that area came about and what it is?
A: It has a bit of an unusual origin story.
Back in 2004 and 2005 there was an A&E show called Airline which featured Southwest employees. We didn’t have any editorial control of the show, we just believed that our people would do the right thing and Southwest would be shown in a positive light.
And it did; after each episode we would receive an influx of applications from people who wanted to work for us.
When the show went off the air we experienced a big decrease, because the stories became much harder to find. Company blogs weren’t a big thing back then, but we launched one so that we could keep storytelling.
Over time the space grew to include video and became a much bigger thing. About a year-and-a-half ago we relaunched it as a community. We wanted it to be not just the stories we tell, but a discussion with peer-to-peer sharing; people helping people
Tumblr media
Q: Another great offering from you guys is 175 Stories. Can you talk about what it is?
A: That has been a fabulous effort from our advertising folks in conjunction with our advertising agency of record, GSD&M.
We’d had the tagline “Every city has a story” peppered through our offerings for a while, but the idea hadn’t received the structure it deserved until the creation of 175 Stories. We called it that because that’s how many seats our new Boeing 737 MAX 8 holds. That aircraft went into service in October, which synched with our timing for a fall campaign.
175 Stories is essentially a combination of a lot of different storytelling efforts, but mostly involves our social content curation and advertising. The effort tells the stories of all the different people you might find on a flight. Some are real stories and some are produced commercials, derived from real situations.
We wanted to take that whole theme of “behind every seat is a story” and showcase it. We also wanted to highlight our coined term “transfarency” and show how we separate ourselves from the pack with two free checked bags—as long as weight and size limits apply – no change fees, and other similarly unique Southwest offerings.
Tumblr media
Q: How do you measure the success of a piece of content? Which metrics do you pay close attention to?
A: It depends on the piece; where it is coming from and how it fits into the greater puzzle.
If it’s a piece that has some duality—for example, if it’s supposed to be building brand affinity and also encouraging people to apply for a job—then we want to be able to measure against both goals.
Typically, we’re putting out content because we want to build awareness around something, or we want to build brand affinity, or we want to inspire people to take action; whether it’s booking a fare, applying for a job, or simply engaging. Whichever of those is relevant drives the metrics we analyze.
Q: Finally, do you have any personal favorite pieces of Southwest content?
A: I’ll give you a newer one and an older one.
The older one is from a few years ago: I got a voicemail from a woman, Maraleen Manos-Jones, saying there was a crisis. She was in Albany, NY, and said she had a beautiful, healthy butterfly that had just emerged from its cocoon late in the season. She was afraid it wouldn’t successfully migrate south because by the time it got to around Kansas City in the midsection of America the temperature would be too low for a butterfly to survive.
So, she was asking of we would fly the butterfly down to San Antonio to be released in a botanic garden there.
We ended up doing it. We took her from Albany through Baltimore and down to San Antonio. We pitched the story to the press and by the time she got to the botanic garden in Texas there were throngs of cameras just waiting for this butterfly to be released. It was amazing, the story got picked up domestically and internationally.
We cheekily called it the “butterfly effect”: if we could raise awareness about something like climate change, or sustainability, or environmental friendliness, with one donated ticket—one butterfly—then we’ve done our job. In hindsight, seeing all of the coverage, we would have been crazy to pass on it, even though I’m sure many people thought we were crazy for pursuing it.
youtube
The newer story involves a man named Earl Richards, who is a World War II veteran and describes himself as the happiest guy in Albuquerque.
He is also a huge Southwest fan. He sings for customers as they board; he asks to pass out snacks. He just loves the company.
So, we organized for him to come to our headquarters and get the royal treatment.
He was so taken aback that we would do this for him; he got choked up and was so thankful.
It’s a fun story and very representative of our customers. People take so much pride in associating themselves with us. That makes Southwest as much theirs as it is mine.

Time for a moment of self-reflecting and apologies?
Alrighty, folks. Long story short, I’ve been checking out a block list within one of the regression communities, and I’ve also been learning what makes communities different.
Let me say first that I am not in or associated with any community. I do not have a DNI, on here or on my main blog, and anybody can purchase from me. I have also read that businesses fall outside of most DNIs, so if you would like to purchase from me, I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to. (Not positive though, so ask your mods if you’re unsure! Of course, do whatever makes you comfortable!)
All of that being said, I will admit that I’ve been pretty ignorant about communities and what different terms have come to mean because it was never like this when I first joined years ago. I decided to stay away from them, and thus, did not educate myself. I was even upset and hurt by DNI banners because I did not understand fully. I thought it was just silly terms and petty drama, like, “You say to-may-to; I say to-mah-to; we can’t be friends.” I thought that all words and terms were two sides of the same coin, two words that meant the same thing, etc.
Man, I am rambling a lot before the actual point!
Getting down to it, I’ve crosstagged in a lot of my posts. I’ve even tagged #crosstagging, and I will tell you why. I simply wanted to get the word out there to as many people as I could who like pacis. I started this blog to help people, and I know that people would like a low-cost pacifier from all kinds of communities and for all kinds of reasons. I tagged crosstagging because I thought that meant something like, “Hey, just showing that I am purposefully crosstagging, not trying to hurt anyone, not in any of these communities, just trying to include everybody.” I had good intentions.
Because I hadn’t taken the time to educate myself on terms, communities, etc (I’m still not completely knowledgeable or aware of them all), I didn’t realize that this was bad. I figured it was okay because I myself was not posting any NSFW material.
I’m starting to understand why I was wrong, and I wanted to say that I am sorry. I did not mean to make anybody feel unsafe or uncomfortable in any way. I also was not trying to ignore other people’s comfort to selfishly promote my business! I swear, I just wanted to help people get a paci, no matter what community they’re in. I still feel this way.
I wanted to take the time to post this, explaining myself and apologizing, but unfortunately, most of the people who I potentially hurt have probably blocked me due to my ignorant mistake. This means they’ll never see this post. Still, I feel that this is important to publicly apologize.
I plan to go back through my posts and delete any community tags and terms, and I will not use these tags in the future. I will most likely stay away from tagging all together, other than tags that organize my blog, until I have a better understanding of the concept.
I’m not sure if I’m on any block lists, or if the “businesses don’t count” rule applies on some blogs. Either way, I hope that moving forward, I can prevent myself from being added to any other DNIs due to cross tagging and prevent anyone from getting hurt because of me.
Bottom line, I love all you paci-lovers, no matter what you call yourself or who you interact with! I hope to learn more about what it means to truly respect this. I want everyone to feel safe coming to my blog, and I want the experience of getting your own paci with me to be positive and comfortable for all! If I do anything that potentially goes against this, kindly tell me please!
Thank you for reading <3

Google+ for G Suite lives on and gets new features
You thought Google+ was dead, didn’t you? And it is — if you’re a consumer. But the business version of Google’s social network will live on for the foreseeable future — and it’s getting a bunch of new features today.
Google+ for G Suite isn’t all that different from the Google+ for consumers, but its focus is very much on allowing users inside a company to easily share information. Current users include the likes of Nielsen and French retailer Auchan.
The new features that Google is announcing today give admins more tools for managing and reviewing posts, allow employees to tag content and provide better engagement metrics to posters.
Recently Google introduced the ability for admins to bulk-add groups of users to a Google+ community, for example. And soon, those admins will be able to better review and moderate posts made by their employees. Soon, admins will also be able to define custom streams so that employees could get access to a stream with all of the posts from a company’s leadership team, for example.
But what’s maybe more important in this context is that tags now make it easy for employees to route content to everybody in the company, no matter which group they work in. “Even if you don’t know all employees across an organization, tags makes it easier to route content to the right folks,” the company explains in today’s blog post. “Soon you’ll be able to draft posts and see suggested tags, like #research or #customer-insights when posting customer survey results.”
As far as the new metrics go, there’s nothing all that exciting going on here, but G Suite customers who keep their reporting structure in the service will be able to provide analytics to employees so they can see how their posts are being viewed across the company and which teams engage most with them.
At the end of the day, none of these are revolutionary features. But the timing of today’s announcement surely isn’t a coincidence, given that Google announced the death of the consumer version of Google+ — and the data breach that went along with that — only a few days ago. Today’s announcement is clearly meant to be a reminder that Google+ for the enterprise isn’t going away and remains in active development. I don’t think all that many businesses currently use Google+, though, and with Hangouts Chat and other tools, they now have plenty of options for sharing content across groups.

#fandom/OC
#medium …..(gifs, fic, podcast, art, etc.)
#tw:, #etc …..(trigger warnings & any additional tags)

Note: This is a creation challenge, please don’t repost your old work under our tags (unless it’s been changed or edited for the event).

Okay, this theme is Divi, a theme you’ve likely seen before. Divi is among the absolute top premium quality WordPress themes available today. With it, there’s absolutely nothing that you cannot do. And considering that Divi is BuddyPress ready, that means that you can set up a great-looking intranet or Extranet website using it. In fact, you can check out the instructions for how to achieve this on Elegant Themes website itself.  That page gets a little wonky, but I think it does a fine job of giving you a nice overview of how to create an intranet site.
Using Divi, you can create a really functional website for content sharing, project management and online collaboration. With all of the tools at your disposal, you should be able to get something done pretty quickly.  That tutorial is for any theme, assuming it’s BuddyPress ready, but I think Divi is a particularly solid choice for proceeding.  It’s got a ton of features and it’s really simple to use and customize.

Micro Office
There really aren’t that many intranet or Extranet web templates for WordPress, which makes it a bit difficult to narrow it down to just one theme. I feel like we need to include all of the templates that are highly rated and micro office is certainly one of the highest rated films of its kind. This theme is built specifically for intranet and Extranet sites and it blends performance with usability, making it a great choice for helping you create a sort of shared workspace online. If your company needs an intranet or an Extranet website, if you’ve got a creative agency with a lot of people are working on projects in different areas of the world, intranet site is a fantastic solution. It allows people to collaborate no matter where they are in the world. Micro office includes a lot of features very specific to intranet sites.
There’s an awesome dashboard where you can post events, calendars, corporate crafts, is notifications and more. This theme is perfectly integrated with buddypress, allowing employees to build the highly functional Community. They can organize themselves into groups and apartments, communicate in a free and easy manner. You can even have internal polls and share results using charts and graphs. Everybody loves a chart and graph. This theme also has fully featured tools to create online courses for employees, weather they are paid courses or free. There are quizzes and tests to check how people are learning. No intranet site would be complete without file sharing capability and micro office ads that.
In addition to all of the intranet and Extranet specific features, this theme is compatible with wpbakery page builder, formerly known as visual composer, that allows you to create the type of layout that you want your side to have. Revolution slider and essential grid are included, as is support for event on, content timeline and buddypress. WP Pro quiz and responsive poll are also included, this is a fully documented, well supported theme that is Gutenberg compatible, professional and easy-to-use. This is certainly one of the better intranet themes available today.

BuddyApp
Buddy App is a fabulous theme for public communities, Extranet and intranet websites. It’s got a Creative Design and a mobile-first approach that make it ideal for people who want to collaborate on a variety of different devices. With this theme, you get full buddypress support. Of course, you’re probably going to have to have that to build any sort of online community, especially an intranet or Extranet site. Buddypress includes a lot of great features that make it ideal for Community Building. You get live notifications so that you don’t miss any messages from core team or group, there’s the live customizer to preview any changes that you made to your site, making customizations straightforward and highly visual. This theme includes Ajax of search, a side-by-side search feature for Content like posts, members and groups.
There’s live chat to allow Communication in real time, an online knowledge base to get people information they’re looking for quickly. File management allows for file sharing and you can set different levels of access depending on what type of user you’re talking about. There are a variety of many locations, high quality image Galleries and, of course, support for bbPress to allow you to set up an online form. Buddypress is really great, it allows you to run any type of social network on your WordPress installation, offering member profiles come activity streams, messaging and user groups among other things. This is a full-featured intranet and Extranet theme that could be great for just about any type of company.

Alliance
This theme is called Alliance, it’s another intranet and Extranet web template by theme Rex. They are the developers behind the micro office theme that I highlighted just a couple of themes ago. This is a modern fresh theme, a little bit different than micro office, but it offers all of the same great features and functionality. You get dashboards to post events, corporate news, notifications and calendars. Is theme is fully integrated with BuddyPress, letting you create a fully functioning Community for your employees. They can organize themselves into groups and apartments, collaborate on projects and communicate with ease. There’s file-sharing, one of the most important features of any intranet site and folks can share documents, reports or any other types of files using the buddy Drive plug-in. Four education websites, polls and quizzes are an important aspect and this theme includes support for that. I think you’re really going to like the look of this theme and documentation, support and everything else that you got and you were download

New Post has been published on https://cryptomoonity.com/two-truths-and-a-lie-the-newest-party-game-to-explain-blockchain/
Two truths and a lie: The newest party game to explain blockchain
The subject of blockchain and the technology behind it is still a hot topic. In the course of an evening, 9 out of 10 parties refer to blockchain at least once — in a non-scientific study conducted by this author.
The word “blockchain” is going more mainstream but the fundamental understanding still remains confusing for many. Flex your know-it-all might at the next cocktail party by providing blockchain nuggets for folks to noodle on. Let’s try a little exercise: Figure out which two of the following statements are truths, and which one is a lie to help you discover more about blockchain.
Blockchain is like Vegas
We all have heard of the tag line, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” For blockchain, each transaction that is uploaded to the blockchain, also stays on the blockchain. Just as you may selectively share information with your family and friends about your Vegas trip, you can also selectively share your blockchain data.
Data that goes into the blockchain are permanent. Once written, you cannot change the data. Each time a new transaction is written into the blockchain, it gets linked to the last transaction.
Unlike most cryptocurrencies, blockchains built for business allow information to be selectively shared. You may, for example share all of your Vegas stories with your best friend and just tell a couple stories to a work colleague. You upload, you own, and you control your data.
Blockchain is like writing with a pen
Given the immutable nature of data on the blockchain, you may be wondering what happens if a mistake is made. How do you correct erroneous data? Simple — you just append the data. Blockchain then allows you to see what changed and not just the change.
It’s like writing with a pen instead of a pencil. If you make an error with pen, you simply cross out the error and write the change next to it — the error and change is visible. Blockchain is like using a pen; if it was like a pencil, you could erase or change data without anyone knowing.
One unintentional or unscrupulous piece of data will shake the trust of all business partners. In a blockchain, nothing is ever changed; it is updated, and every update is tracked. Everyone is shown what that update was. For that reason, you can trust all records on blockchain.
youtube
Blockchain requires a database administrator
Ok, spoiler alert… that is the lie! But here is the truth. In business-to-business transactions, each business keeps their own set of records. Organizations very rarely keep a shared database. If they did, they would need a database administrator which then requires trusting business data to a single person or organization to keep everything accurate — all the time. This could lead to security risks for your mission critical data, increase costs, and result in a single point of failure.
Blockchain allows multiple parties to have one version of the truth due to its distributed ledger. Unlike databases which require database administrators, with blockchain, everyone is an administrator so there is no single point of failure where information is unknowingly changed. Data is only updated, and those updates are visible across the entire network for everybody to see. Mistakes either by accident or intent are visible, attributable and accountable.
Go forth and educate
Although blockchain technology was invented about 10 years ago, what many people don’t know is that it isn’t a fundamentally new technology, but an innovation in terms of how existing technology is used. Hashing, one of the key pieces of blockchain, has been around since the 1950s — conceived by IBM computer science engineer Hans Peter Luhn.
Great use cases for blockchain technology involve situations where transactions are largely paper-based or a mix of digital and paper, or when there are numerous transaction partners with large volumes of data. One such example is in the food industry, where blockchain can enable transparency thereby being able to help improve food safety, reduce food waste, prevent food fraud, and make our food supply more sustainable.
I hope our new party game, “two truths and a lie” helps you understand the most basic underpinnings and concepts of blockchain and inspires you or others to join the ranks of blockchain technology evangelists who are changing the world.
