we know there's an Original Sinners -> Priest series pipeline but I wonder if New Camelot is just as inspired by Original Sinners in different ways and not just because he met her when she was 16.

Happy (USAian) Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! We are grateful to have you as our listeners, and grateful to romance for bringing us together. We hope you have a chance to hide away and read something delightful today!
We've never had a thanksgiving episode, but the terrific Men at Work series by Tiffany Reisz has a Thanksgiving book in it... so if you're looking for something in the holiday spirit while you wrestle with that turkey...

That sounds like such a meaningful read!
I love the idea of exploring love from so many angles, especially with a focus on self-love and redefining what healthy love can look like.
I recommend The Siren by Tiffany Reisz.
It's the first book in The Original Sinners series and follows the story of Nora Sutherlin, a bold and intriguing erotic novelist whose life is wrapped up in the world of BDSM. The novel explores desire, control, and vulnerability in a way that's raw and addictive. With unforgettable characters and plenty of suspense, it’s a captivating read from start to finish.
It was! Ah, The Siren...ok, I read a little bit about it just now and I'm definitely curious. From what I read, it seems to show how BDSM/kink/exploration can be a useful tool for healing/growth/self exploration. That's something I find fascinating. Thank you for the rec!

my message to any series writer, whether you're writing a TV series, a book series, a movie series, I don't care
before you continue a series you ended previously
ask yourself:
do I actually have a substantive reason to continue this, or am I just reviving characters who had their definitive endings already
#this is to tiffany reisz today but it's also to anyone#it's honestly become a pet peeve of mine in this era of Revivals#i'm sure i can think of some stories wherein this has made sense#but it feels like most of my favorites.... no#i mean even the godfather--don't buy that this was truly intended to be a trilogy in the beginning lol#you have a GREAT story in part i and part ii and then part iii is a disaster#reviving usually means 'walking back' and i think you have to stand by some of the calls you make as a writer and go#'ENOUGH.'#i'm actually not a devil in disguise hater but i also think this is why a lot of lisa kleypas readers hate that book#they all wanted more sebastian but the only way to give him something to do#especially in a romance series#was to dredge up his past#and that actually wasn't what people wanted in the end; they just thought they did bc they wanted more material#but sometimes.... less material... is better

Reading Feast of Sparks by Sierra Simone with the same enthusiasm I read The Prince by Tiffany Reisz except more because the "present day" scenes don't bore the shit out of me.
Tell me this isn't the bby Kingsley/Søren experience:

“Don’t confuse love with romance, young lady. Romance is beautiful, it’s a gesture, it’s a walk in a park with a pretty girl. Love is ugly sometimes. It’s a crawl into a war zone to save a friend. Romance whispers sweet nothings. Love tells painful truths. Romance gives an engagement ring. Love takes a bullet.”

Do you read smut novels? And if so do you have any recommendations?
Hey love, I do tend to read erotic novels every now and then, however, the queen of recommendation on that genre is @wolvesandhoundshowltogether. So if you want, feel free to leave her an ask. She'll be more than happy to assist. I'm more of a fantasy/horror/thrillers/historical and magical realism savvy :)
Now onward to my recommendations.
Landscape with Animals - Cameron S. Redfern
This is one of the first erotic novels I bought and read and even though it's been almost 20 years since then I can never forget about the journey it took me through. The main characters are nameless and we know very little of their past and current lives. What we do know is that their relationship is quite the taboo...
At some sense it feels a bit like voyeurism as we get a chance to experience their very intense, feral and doomed relationship. While this is not a classic plot-book and more driven by the characters' perspective, it's loaded with emotions and will get you hooked.
More under the cut
Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt
It was only a few paragraphs ago where I mentioned loving thrillers! So this book is actually a combo of historical thriller and passionate erotic romance. What grasp me is how evocative and how well written it is, and of course I can't say no to murder mystery.
More books under the cut
Beautiful Stranger - Christina Lauren
Allow me to give you the synopsis from Goodread
Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon’s moved to New York City and is looking for excitement and passion without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night’s fun. But the manner—and speed—with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.
I think that's nuff said. Mr sexy brit reminded me of a certain agent Walker throughout the story. And it definitely delivers as promised.
The Red: An Erotic Fantasy - Tiffany Reisz
Another book that Marta texted me with "sfsafka Freya!!! you must read it, ASAP"
Yet another mysterious british man making our dear protagonist an offer she cannot refuse. Or is it? This book has quite the delicious surprise... and the smut is... top notch. It's not as romantic as its debaucherous.
The Chief - Monica McCarty
Currently reading this one, though quite slowly. This is another book recommend to me by Marta. Historical romance, highlands 👀 and again, really well written.

hi! do you have recs for m/m contemporary romance with lots of good sex, or m/m erotica? thank you! :)
Hi! I do have some recs! I don't read a lot of contemporary m/m (recently went on a Kate Meader hockey player/firefighter binge but none of them really hit for me) but here are some stand-outs:
Saint by Sierra Simone: I'm perpetually reccing this woman's books and for good reason. This one was a lot more slow burn than the first two in the Priest series (equally contemplative though, if not even more) but the pay-off was FANTASTIC. It's all about Aiden, who is now a monk, reconnecting with his now-engaged ex boyfriend Elijah. They go on a road trip to visit monasteries that have breweries I believe. I do need to reread but I distinctly remember vows of silence and chastity (and yes, a chastity cage was used).
The Prince by Tiffany Reisz: I'd strongly recommend reading her Original Sinners series in order (this is the 3rd) but this is the book that delves into the genesis Soren and Kingsley's relationship at their New England Catholic boarding school (!!). Brilliantly written. Younger Soren is a delight and terrifying to read (but Kingsley is.... deeply into that). Please heed the trigger warnings before you read because there is dubcon and mentions of rape/incest.
Wow, I just recced 2 Catholic-centric books. Huh. Well here's a third (more Catholic-adjacent but Soren is a priest so-):
The Return by Tiffany Reisz: Read The Prince, then read The Chateau (if you want; I didn't), then read The Return. Soren and Kingsley are older in this one, their relationship is.... less shaky, I'd say, compared to the present-day scenes in The Prince. Soren and Kingsley in France visiting an old, uh, acquaintance, and you get to see their more mature relationship (Soren's mellowed with age). The classic Tiffany banter is still there, as always, as are the classic Tiffany sex scenes (meaning, mind the TWs).
Mafia Target by Mila Finelli: I read Mafia Mistress my junior year of college and I'd been waiting for Giulio to get a book of his own since then and this was fucking fantastic. Giulio is the son of a mafioso and Alessio is the assassin sent to, well, assassinate him. Can an assassin turn into a simp? The answer is a resounding YES. The sex between these two is excellent (and plentiful since you did ask for "lots of good sex"), and tbh it's just very funny to see these two falling for one another despite all the death threats (on all sides; there's the assassination sitch, there's external mafia shit, daddy does a boyfriend beatdown at some point, etc.).
#upon reflection all 6 of these men are either catholic or raised catholic likely#that's hilarious#book recs#sierra simone#tiffany reisz#mila finelli#ask
