Also, those people are bullshitting about Tiffany and Jonathan's talents and career, and even they know it. Like bffr, you're lying out of your ass if you don't think they were one of the best (if not the best) ice dancers in Russia (and Europe as a whole)

I somewhat knew about the solo dance thing- skaters like Tiffany Zagorski, Olivia Smart, Avonley Nguyen and plenty others all got their start in solo ice dance that got them attention and helped them find partners. While you still have to learn partnering skills, it's an easier jump from solo to paired dance than singles to dance. Plus solo dance competitions are often coed, and while there aren't as many available men as women you can still meet potential partners by way of competing against them.

part of the reason i have trouble wrapping my head around this whole other part of ice dance is this:

junior and senior combined dance and the international are where all the teams we know compete, but there are so many other categories 😅 what are the metal dances - gold, pre-bronze? and shadow dance? and then just when you think you understand solo vs combined (paired), you have Novice Solo Combined Dance 🤔

i hear you - you must train similar skating skills as a solo dancer. i do love that the solo competitions are generally coed, though i'm guessing it's bc there aren't enough boys and men to run as their own separate category and not bc they're being forward thinking lol i wonder if there are any teams competing now who met skating solo

Oh, Tiffani. (Tiffany? Tiffani? How long has she been Tiffani to the ISU? Was she always Tiffani and I just saw what I wanted to see?) You and Jonathan made my Worst Dressed list last year, and this short dance outfit definitely did the two of you no favors. 

Although Jonathan is inoffensively attired, I have to say this is another costume I saw live and that lime green is really INTENSELY lime green. I know I always say I like color, but clashing is a thing too, and although I admit part of the fun of Latin costumes is tackiness, there is such a thing as too much, and that would be lime green eyeshadow when your hair is already bright red.

That said, these two always seem to be having the time of their lives which I do love to see.

Twizzles looked fairly good but during one if the step sequences there was a slight error and their skates slid a bit sideways on the ice. They look happy with their performance though.
