Got a line in my head and wrote this around it. Just over 300 words of established relationship fluff

Eddie’s lying in his bed and Steve is next to him. The backs of their hands are pressed together between them and Eddie has his ankle hooked over Steve’s. He’s so full of love for Steve, and so full of Steve’s love for him, he wonders how his body can contain it all.

He loves Steve more than he thought he could ever love someone. He loves Steve in a way that he always thought was made up for movies or songs or whatever. But it’s not. It’s so real.

He glances at Steve, heart skipping a beat at how beautiful Steve is and says, “I want a tattoo.”

“You’ve already got some.”

Eddie rolls onto his side, propping himself on an elbow. “I want a new one.”

“What of?”

“Your name.”

Steve snorts, disbelieving, then he looks at Eddie. His brows raise. “You’re serious.”

It’s not a question, but Eddie nods.

“But…” Steve presses his lips together. Eddie waits for some kind of protest—it’s too risky, other people will see, will know—but when it comes, it’s not what he expected. Because Steve says, “It’s forever,” with an undercurrent of uncertainty that makes Eddie’s chest ache.

“So are you,” Eddie says, poking Steve in the side.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

Steve smiles, looking as loved as Eddie feels; he tucks his hands behind his head and says, “Maybe I should get one too.”

Eddie’s heart leaps. “Of your name?”

“Oh, yeah, totally.” Steve shakes his head. “Of your name, you dork.”

“That,” Eddie says, clambering on top of Steve, straddling his thighs, “would be so hot.” He can’t believe he’s never considered the possibility of Steve with inked skin before, but now it fills his mind. Definitely hot. And that Steve’s first tattoo is going to be Eddie’s name… Fuck.

Steve reaches up, brushing Eddie’s hair out of his face. “You’re forever, too,” he says, a shared promise, and pulls Eddie down for a kiss.

Ideal ending to WCI is Luffy seeing Sanji cry and then awakening his devil fruit and unlocking Gear Fifth out of sheer RAGE and saying the classic line of “Who made you cry, Sanji?! I’ll DESTROY THEM!!!” and then proceeding to go on a rampage and fucking absolutely EVERYBODY up including the Vinsmokes, Pudding, AND the Big Mom Pirates. Toss in the trope of came back wrong and Sanji can immediately tell something is not right about this Luffy, whose smile is too wide, whose eyes are too distant, who continues to beat upon his enemies long after they’re down, who seems to take a sick sort of pleasure in hurting others, who grins and giggles and tells Sanji he’ll obliterate anything that makes him cry. Eventually he starts to scare Sanji so bad that even Luffy notices his reaction, and immediately turns on himself because if HE’S the one making Sanji cry then he’ll just have to destroy himself too. And that’s when Sanji finally leaps into action and does whatever he can to reach Luffy—including kissing him. Luckily that was exactly what Luffy needed to snap out of it, and when he comes to the Whole Cake Chateau is in broken pieces, the Big Mom Pirates are battered beyond fighting and the Vinsmokes are nowhere to be seen. And softly, tiredly, he asks if they won, if he can bring Sanji home, and Sanji cries again and says yes, take me home to the Sunny, I want to go home with you.

Meanwhile the rest of the Strawhats are like

thinking about how punk's look perfectly represents his personality. the way he comes out all neat and tidy with his pristine white wrist tape, and neat slicked back hair, looking cool calm and collected. Only for him to start wrestling, and sweating hard, dirtying the tape and letting it get rolled up, as his hair becomes unruly and goes everywhere, and his white trunks get all filthy (if that's his colour of choice for the night). All the while he's getting this wild look in his eyes, as you realise just how deranged his is underneath the bravado. It's my favourite part about his character.

i dunno man, i've just always liked how he likes to act all put together and then just goes fucking feral once he's in the ring. Also here's some before and after photos from matches cos u all know what i mean but it's still nice to look.

That’s as close as we’re going to get from a Watanuki confirmation but Doumeki seems to accept what he means by it.

And they're kind of having two slightly different conversations here - Doumeki wanting Watanuki to keep living, and Watanuki talking about how he doesn't want to lose the feeling he has now of wanting to stay (ie, not fading from existence) for the people he cares about. But luckily Watanuki's wording here works for both contexts, and the sentiment is parallel in both situations anyway.

So Doumeki nods and walks towards him?

Are we getting on screen hug???

Doumeki has robbed me. 

Or more like. Doumeki accepts Watanuki's sentiment and walks past him as a way for them to continue walking together. He's opening the door to continue their usual existence full of the argumentative banter that they both do by habit.  

And it works! It works instantly. Watanuki completely embraces their usual dynamic and they continue as ever.

Doumeki is giving him exactly what he wants - for things not to change.

For them to continue on into the future the same way as they were before.

To wordlessly acknowledge the deeper sentiment Watanuki was expressing and to act casually once more as a sign of acceptance and a reflection of the sentiment that he, too, wants Watanuki to stay.
