Y'all. My family is a fucking blessing.
#my dad went out of his way to pick up a 'cheap' headlight assembly for me#and I doubt he'll let me pay for it when I limp my car down to him#(this wind adding pressure to the front of my car on my commute home is ROUGH)#(I just cannot take it higher speeds until I get the front end bolted up better)#my brother is pulling together the transmission cooler lines and tool needed to change them out#and will help me get that all put back together#I had to go out to my car during break today and it was just a ... puddle around my car#like the snow is melting; the ground is wet - made it look worse than it is#but I'm not going to be able to keep it going this way for long#called a trusted local garage and was quoted 500 for the lines and labor and I just ... can't ... do that...#my usual mechanic lost his house and garage in a divorce#but my brother is certain he can do the transmission lines#I still need a front end alignment too but that's been a long standing problem#from last year when my suspension completely went out and I did the tie rod myself#I'm just eating through the brand new before-suspension-problems tires and ultimately an alignment is cheaper (and safer)#it's an older car and it's been through a collision now#this really is all peanuts in the grand scheme of things#it's a trustworthy as fuck kind of car#I'm just super broke and it's getting worse every year as inflation gets worse and I get no raises#the car is worth it#I've just been putting it through hell

My favorite thing about the line "You should get a job then you'll be normal" is that in no way did a "normal" (retail) or "real" (technical/trade) job not radicalise me even more than I already had been.
The implicit idea is that you will just give up and give in to corporate ladders and climbing over the half-dead bodies of your coworkers and thus be assimilated into the exploitation machinery. This is failing to occur so much and it's evidenced by the recent moral panics about "quiet quitters" (doing your job) and remote work (establishing healthy and reasonable work-life boundaries) among other things.

Left my impact sockets at the junkyard. And now it's pouring down rain so i cant work on my truck
#i shouldve known when i got to the junkyard and the truck with the steering box i needed had everything thst couldve possibly gotten a-#little bit in my way take off save for 4 bolts that actually hold the part on i was gonna have to deal with some bs later#atleast i got the box mounted and hoses done up before it started raining#just gotta do the tie rod and put the air box back in#assuming nothing leaks

why do weather warnings tell me to keep an eye out like what the fuck am I going to about it anyway. ohhh nooooo i have spotted a severe thunderstorm looming and severe winds decimating the trees...better go hit the big red button to turn the weather off!!! oh wait. that doesn't fucking exist.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Okay, this is all speculation because I have not seen the movie yet and I’m pretty sure it JUST came out. Also it isn’t a sequel but a prequel? Okay.
I do like seeing Arcee and it being a prequel could mean that the Autobots killed in the first few movies are still here. However, it was my hope upon seeing that one of the antagonists was Unicron, that we would finally see Hot Rod given it was HIM not Optimus, who destroyed Unicron in the cartoon movie. But no. Nothing yet again.
And is it just me or is Mirage rather OOC from what we saw in the trailer? To me, it’s like he should have been Jazz and honestly, that’s who I thought he was since it is a prequel. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I would actually like a Transformers movie that is more about the robots than humans for once! But that’s also just me seeing that critics are claiming the human scenes saved the movie (but one usually knows if the critics pan the movie, it’s really good and if the critics like it, the movie is terrible).
