Found out (via text of all fucking things) that I've got to have more FNA biopsies done on some troublesome thyroid nodules.
I wish they'd just remove my thyroid at this point so we can PREVENT the thyroid cancer they're frequently screening me for because, man alive, I'm so stressed by this shit that all I ever think about is 'is this the day it turns into cancer?'.

idk who needs to hear this but I keep seeing people comment that someone is trans/looks trans 💀 because they have an Adam's apple. So in the spirit of education, this is a PSA:
The Adam’s apple, technically called the laryngeal prominence, is a protrusion of cartilage in the throat that surrounds and protects the larynx (or voice box). Its primary function is to protect the vocal cords, which are essential for speaking and breathing. The prominence of the Adam's apple also affects voice depth and pitch to some extent.
Both men and women have an Adam’s apple, but it is typically more prominent in men due to the effects of testosterone during puberty. This hormone stimulates the growth and thickening of the larynx, resulting in a deeper voice and a larger, more visible Adam's apple in men. In women, the growth is generally less pronounced, making the laryngeal prominence smaller or less noticeable.
Other conditions or anatomical features in the neck area can resemble an Adam’s apple. For example:
Swollen Thyroid Gland (Goiter): The thyroid gland, located just below the Adam's apple, can enlarge and resemble or even obscure the laryngeal prominence if it becomes swollen or develops nodules.
Lymph Node Swelling: Enlarged lymph nodes due to infections or other conditions can also cause noticeable lumps in the neck that may appear near the Adam’s apple area.
Cysts or Growths: Thyroglossal duct cysts, benign growths, or other anatomical anomalies can present as lumps near the laryngeal prominence.
TLDR; Comments like the above reflect a common misconception that the Adam's apple is exclusive to men or that it's a definitive marker of someone's sex/gender. The truth is that everyone has an Adam’s apple; it’s just often more prominent in men due to how testosterone affects the larynx during puberty. For some women, especially those with a naturally larger or thicker larynx, it can also be visible, and some men have less prominent Adam’s apples as well. Unfortunately, this idea that a visible Adam’s apple signals something about gender identity is rooted in oversimplified, outdated stereotypes. It’s best to remember that bodies naturally vary, and visible anatomical features don't define someone's gender identity or journey.

Sucks taking it easy and making an effort to get a good night's sleep and still being absolutely exhausted. What's the point of trying if I just feel like garbage all the time regardless :|
#Hghhhh#2 weeks left until my consult with the specialist#I'm just praying that dealing with my nefarious neck lumps fixes the fatigue#Whether it's the thyroid nodule (tumour?) itself or my Hashimoto's causing this a thyroidectomy should do SOMETHING#Ok I thought about it for 5 seconds and the answer to 'whats the point in trying' is that it makes me feel better mentally

crawls back onto here to give more life updates.
So for the past ... I've lost count how long now, I've been suffering from extreme fatigue. We're talking excessive, excessive tiredness, for seemingly no reason. Nothing I do is working; no matter how much caffeine I drink, from energy drinks to coffee to soda to all of the above within the span of an hour, can keep me from falling asleep. I use a CPAP for sleep apnea now, and I thought for sure that would solve the issue -- but it didn't, not at all. I've tried taking melatonin gummies to knock me out so I'll get a restful night's sleep, I've tried taking vitamin supplements to give me an energy boost.
No luck. Still no energy to function, still falling asleep throughout the day.
I'm so perpetually tired, that I even sit here and fall asleep in my computer chair repeatedly.
I've brought it up a few times to doctors. My gynecologist actually thought it might be anemia from excessive blood loss during my monthly cycle, because I bleed so fucking heavily it's absurd -- but alas, that is also not the case.
But now that I know I have a thyroid nodule, and that it can cause fatigue, I'm like, "COULD IT BE? HAVE I FINALLY FOUND THE ANSWER???"
Please, dear gods, please let this be the answer LOL. I want to be a functional human being for the first time in literal years.
#Out of Ammo#Holy fucking shit I am so tired of being tired#I've had sleep evaluations done and at this point there's no reason I shouldn't be well rested come morning according to the data#I'm hoping that this thyroid nodule is the answer so it can be dealt with#AND MAYBE I'LL BE ABLE TO FUCKING WRITE AGAIN AS A BONUS ONCE IT IS TAKEN CARE OF??? P-PLEASE?

Bruh they finally sent me my pathology report yesterday 3 weeks after surgery and APPARENTLY I had 3 tiny less than 1cm nodules that WERE cancer on the half of my thyroid they took out
They only told me about 1 when they called me on the phone so when I read that I was like hello??? Hello!!??
How fucked is it that I had 4 nodules on the right half of my thyroid 3 of which were less than 1cm but cancerous and 1 that was almost 7cm and ended up being benign
My body she’s so crazy <3
#biblical level miracle things played out the way they did#they think I didn’t have those cancer nodules the whole 6 months we were investigating the big benign one#they think those only cropped up in the last 2 or 3 months before surgery because of how small they were#which makes sense because I felt fine for months and then I started to get really sick in March#and then by early may I was so ill I could barely eat and I felt like I needed to go to the ER some days#so like had they not been working to get the big one out of me they would have never paid any mind to those tiny ones#because small nodules are super common with my breed of thyroid disease and thyroid cancer is relatively rare#so I got so fucking lucky that those small ones popped up while I was already going to be treated for the big benign one#because otherwise they wouldn’t have caught them until they grew and spread#crazy shit#stfu

Why Thyroid Nodule Ablation May Be the Right Treatment for You
If you’ve been diagnosed with a thyroid nodule and are seeking effective treatment options, Thyroid Nodule Ablation might be the solution for you. This minimally invasive procedure is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional surgery for certain types of thyroid nodules.
Thyroid Nodule Ablation involves using heat or cold to shrink or destroy the nodule, effectively reducing its size and symptoms. Unlike surgery, this treatment doesn’t require a large incision, making it less invasive and offering a quicker recovery time. It’s an ideal option for patients with benign nodules that are causing discomfort, difficulty swallowing, or cosmetic concerns.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, and most patients can return to their normal activities within a few days. Additionally, Thyroid Nodule Ablation is highly effective in improving symptoms and may eliminate the need for ongoing treatments or surgeries.
For individuals looking to avoid the risks and recovery time associated with thyroid surgery, Thyroid Nodule Ablation offers a safe and efficient alternative. It’s important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine if this procedure is suitable for your condition and overall health.
