I keep thinking about the guilt Spider would hold if he went back to Awaâatlu with the Sullys after seeing what the RDA did to the other Metkayina villages, and he overworks himself to collapse trying to atone for that like
He stays out on the water all day trying to bring in food, but the sun is so lethally hot without the shade heâs used to in the forest that he gets heat stroke. It burns his skin and he collapses on the beach when he finally comes back to land
He works so hard he forgets to eat and drink, and itâs inconvenient anyway without a room with his air, and he doesnât really notice until his vision starts to swim and his stomach cramps so hard he falls to his knees
Others around him tell him to take it easy and he just laughs and agrees he probably should, but every night he lurches awake from nightmares of burning homes and blood in the water and he cant stop. He cant
He doesnât mess around with the Sully kids anymore and they tell him they miss him, and he misses them too but every time he feels himself relaxing the guilt pulls him back under like a wave
Every time someone finds Spider collapsed unconscious somewhere, their collective worry grows. He feels it, the way everyone watches him closer, but assumes itâs just because they donât trust him enough to let him out of sight and⊠well, thats fine. He gets it, itâs fine.
#spider socorro#avatar 2#miles spider socorro#sorry i am just so brainrotten about this boy#i made a supercut of all my favourite moments of his from the movie#and ive had it on repeat for 36 hours pretty much#and do you know how much he does for everyone else?? how much he tries to help without even thinking??#the way he fights tooth and nail to get to loâak and tuk and tsireya on the ship just to see if theyre okay#and they are and he is fine to be locked back up again as long as theyre okay#i can imagine that selflessness becoming pathological when heâs trying to avoid facing something#throwing himself into distraction to avoid being left with his thoughts#just⊠man. man.#kid post

the traitor
JEONGHAN WAS WOKEN UP BY A TINGLING FEELING. As a hunter, he needed to pay attention to a few things, like sudden surges of emotions. Hunches. Tingling sensations were not particularly something he would consider in the bunch. But alas.
He pushed himself up, swinging his legs at the rim of the bed and stared at his knees for a long second. He took a deep breath, rubbing his leg. It was pointless, he thought when he could not find a reason to leave his bed in the middle of the night.
But being a hunter also meant he needed to be on high alert nearly all the time. In his experience, sometimes it was a good idea to pay attention to those moments when nothing made sense at all, such as this.
Sucking in a breath, he got up, stretching his arms over his head as he went over to the small bathroom, avoiding his reflection in the mirror as usual.
Upon the first splash of water hitting his face, he thought of you. It was inevitable. The image of you sitting on the ground, surrounded by trees. That night, he left you for good. That night nothing made sense.
Needless to say, he was exercising all of his will not to go back to you.
Stop trying to make sense of everything.
After that, he debated whether to go back to bed or not. He could take a bottle, try to numb his senses and finally get a good night of sleep. But he needed to stay sharp.
It was a lost game. He got dressed, throwing his pair of black pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Finally strapping his chest harness on with his knife. Going out in the middle of the night meant to him that he was out for blood.
That was his way to distract himself.
âJeonghan, donât go.â
He recoiled, shaking his head and mentally reprimanding himself for thinking of you. But your last words to him were a curse, echoing inside him every night, refusing to leave.
Jeonghan let out a long exhale as he wandered through the night. The streets of the town were completely deserted, he knew he would have to stay out for some hours before he found a target.
These nights, he had been hunting until he travelled three towns over. All because he cannot find it in himself to sleep, he has to fight the urge to seek you out somehow.
Maybe this will be the night he breaks.
There was nothing in this town. It was too safe, too clean. He knew it would not be long until he had to move to a different town and start over. He had been commissioned to travel to different parts of the globe to find something to hunt down, so maybe he was doing his job right.
So why did he come back to this shitty town?Â
Something spiked in his nightly walk. There was something unusual in the air and it was not good. Jeonghan had really good senses, but his intuition was something that discerned him from the rest. Sometimes, people would tell him that his intuition was something out of the ordinary for hunters. So he paid more attention to that rather than his other senses.
He subconsciously rubbed his leg and caught his hand just as it dawned on him.
âJeonghan, donât go.â
Fear set in, and adrenaline kicked in as he started for a run. He had been stupid. So fucking stupid. How come he did not think that by killing every single demon within the townâs radar he was putting a target on you for other hunters?
Jeonghan knew the town by heart, but he could travel to your apartment with his eyes closed. Countless were the nights he stumbled upon your front door, burdened with misery all over. This cannot be the way he finds you dead.
âNo, no, no, noâŠâ he had been repeating the word like a prayer as he climbed through a labyrinth of stairs, panting, sweating until he burst the door open, already knowing you would not be there.
He called your name, either way, his voice bouncing back the walls. There was something off. A glass was shattered, pushed against the corner of the room. One of the chairs was drawn back, in the middle of the way. Jeonghan painted a scene of what could have gone down.
You were probably having the bowl of cereal that was abandoned on the table when the other hunter burst in. Jeonghan could not catch the scent of the other hunter, so that meant whoever that was, they masked themselves well.
No, you would have felt his presence before he could even breathe in your direction. Even if you were young, you were not completely inexperienced in the world of hunters. He made sure of that.
Another possibility was that you were asleep when the other hunter came. The sheets of your bed were tossed to one side. Jeonghan crouched next to the mattress, a terrible feeling sinking inside him upon getting your scent lingering on the pillowcases.
Jeonghan missed you.
âWhere are you?â he whispered, closing his eyes to focus on your scent.
You smelled like freshly picked flowers. The smell he would get in the early morning after a night of rain. The fact that you did not smell like death, or blood made it hard for him to focus sometimes.
He opened his eyes, his focus falling on the open window. Then, he knew why he could not make a story from his surroundings. He had been wrong to assume it was just one hunter.
Someone had also come through the window. You were trapped from the beginning. His chest contracted painfully. But somehow he knew you were not dead yet. Have you been taken? For what end?
The possibilities were endless. Even if hunters had a long history of hating demons, some of them were missing some screws in their heads too.
Jeonghan needed to find you, soon.
Making his way down the stairs, part of him wondered why try at all. He could be rid of you once and for all. He could probably turn a blind eye to this and wait for your name to appear on the ledges. He would be free from the fucking pull that lead him to you every time.
The pull.
The feeling he got every time he closed his eyes, the need and deep craving for you that made him go insane. He let himself feel it. It tugged inside him, like a thread that was tied to his very core.
Jeonghan had refused that feeling ever since he met you, thinking it was some kind of trick you played on him. Silly little hunter got all wrapped in a demonâs finger.
But if he dared to give in to the pull, everything smelled of you. Every gulp of air he took as he walked in the direction his senses told him, he saw your face, your teary eyes as he walked away. Fool, he was a fool.
He was led to the forest, the same path he had gone through when he saw you last. Maybe he was wrong, maybe he should go back and hunt you down.
But then he heard noises, leaves rustling, and a small intake of breath. The sweet way you drew air into your lungs.
He thought of risking calling your name, but he did not know if the hunters were around. So he just followed the sound of your movements until he could get his sight on you.
You could barely walk right. Something had brought you to your knees, your arms were shaking as you forced yourself to stand up, with a low grunt.
Jeonghan called your name this time, making you lift your head.
He stopped abruptly at the sight of something shiny in your fist.
âDonât move,â you said, punctuating each word painfully.
âWhat happened?â he asked, his tone declining in sickening worry, his gaze coasted at each of your limbs, zeroing in on your thigh. The same thigh he had been rubbing since he woke up. It made no sense.
âStep back, Jeonghan,â you panted in pain, raising the knife at him when he made a motion toward you.
âYou didnât notice me coming,â he muttered, analyzing the situation quickly. He sent his gaze around, seeing if there were signs that there was someone lurking by. âLet me take a look at that.â
âHow did you find me?â you asked, letting yourself plop back to the ground, letting go of the knife.
Jeonghan got to your side, dropping to his knees to look at your thigh. âI donât know,â he mumbled, eyeing you. âIâm going to touch you now.â
You nodded and braced yourself for the searing pain in your leg. âTwo hunters came for me,â you said, clenching your jaw tightly to resist the pain throbbing in your skin, around the gaping hole that was turning black.
âI know,â he said, examining the open wound. âDid they stab you?â
You shook your head twice. âThey were using a crossbow. Silver arrows,â you explained despite the need to rest your head on the ground and sleep through it. âI feel dizzy.â
Jeonghan shot you a look. He was worried. âItâs the poison, they mustâve poisoned the arrows to neutralize you,â he said at once. âWhat did you do to the arrow?â
âI used it on one of them,â you replied with half a smirk that slowly vanished as Jeonghan started to press on the wound, seeing any signs of anything odd or unfamiliar.
âSorry,â he breathed as you tensed in pain. âI need to see if thereâs anything in there,â he explained, but what did not satiate the doubts running in his mind.
âI canât heal it,â you repeated and now he could see that beneath the pain and the need to deflect it with humour, you were scared.
âI know, I know,â he told you, giving you a stern look. âI can help you but youâll have to be quiet.â
âAre you missing this opportunity to gag me?â you quipped but your tone was made weak by the fear of feeling pain.
Demons were used to pain, yes. But you were a fairly young demon and lived for most of your life in the human world. Such pain was not welcome for you.
âBreathe,â he instructed and used his hands on your thigh to squeeze the blood that had gone black and tacky around the wound.
You gritted your teeth, writhing in pain on the cold ground. âStop, stop, stop,â you cried out, trying to get his hands off you.
But Jeonghan was quicker, and stronger than you at that moment. He did not deter from his task to squeeze the poisoned blood out of you despite your desperate cries for him to stop.
You lied, nearly limp from the exhaustion the pain had put you through. A sheen layer of cold sweat covered your face and neck, breathing hard. âFuck you,â you sighed when he stopped squeezing your flesh.
âIâm not done yet, I need pressure on the wound,â he said, moving back to unfasten his belt with his bloodied hands. He strapped the belt around your upper thigh, forming a tight tourniquet.
âHurry,â you said through heavy breaths. As you eased your back on the ground, Jeonghan caught sight of the dark wings splayed beneath your body, a clear sign that you could not conceal yourself any further.
Jeonghan made no comment about the weakened state you were in. A knot was set in his stomach upon realizing that you were dying. He grabbed one of the vials he kept in his hunterâs belt, it contained a white liquid. âThis is going to sting a little,â he murmured, unstoppering the vial with his mouth and not pausing before pouring the antidote on your open wound.
Your hand flew to clench at his wrist, letting out a scream that was quickly muffled by his hand clasped in your mouth.
âIâm nearly done,â he said with a composure that you could see through. Beneath that, Jeonghan was worried you would not make it.
âAm I going to be all right?â you asked in a daze, slurring out your words.
âDrink this,â he pressed the vial to your lips, pouring the rest down your tongue, which you gulped willfully, it tasted like white vinegar.
You rested your head on the ground, taking slow and deep breaths as though you had just finished running a marathon.
âYouâre going to be all right,â he said after a quick examination of the wound. âBut youâll need to feed soon.â
âRight,â you mumbled in understanding. By feeding, Jeonghan did not mean human food. Although you could eat human food just all right, it did not sustain what your soul craved.
He meant sins. You needed to feed off human sin. They made you stronger, and faster. They gave you the fuel needed to fight hunters. Going off sins for a while made you just as strong as an average human.
âWhy havenât you fed?â he asked, and it took you a while to understand that he was reprimanding you.
âBeen busy,â you sighed, closing your eyes for a moment.
The last thing you heard was Jeonghan mumbling, âWeâll need to move soon,â before you fell into a deep sleep on a floor covered by dead leaves.Â
Upon regaining consciousness, you noticed with some slowness that you were not surrounded by trees, and you were moving. Your wings were cradling you, so that meant your horns were on sight too.
You tensed up, drawing in a shaky breath, palming your body in search of the knife that you stole from your attackers.
âEasy,â Jeonghan murmured next to you, a hand on the wheel, the other on the shift stick.
âWhere are we?â you said, looking around.
âRadewood town,â he replied nonchalantly, eyes set forward on the road.
âWhy?â you asked slowly, hiding your wings, from his view, then your horns.
âHowâs your leg?â he asked instead, glancing at your thigh.
The wound had stopped bleeding, it was no longer oozing that black substance that had Jeonghan looking worried. You hissed painfully upon searching it with your fingers. The blood had dried, but it was not healing at the speed you would normally have.
âIt hurts,â you mumbled, biting your bottom lip. âItâs not healing.â
Jeonghan nodded. âYou need to feed,â he reminded you with the same tone of reprimand of earlier.
âWell, I fled without stopping to grab my purse so,â you sighed. âI donât have money.â
âIâm not talking about human food,â he said with annoyance, shooting you a look that made you shrink in your seat. âWhy havenât you been feeding?â
You blinked slowly at him and shook your head after deciding that there was no answer that would please him. âI haveâ,â
âDonât say you have been busy,â he cut in.
âWell, itâs the truth,â you said with a clear tone that gave away your lie.
But Jeonghan could feel it. Whenever you told a lie, there was a change in the air that only he could notice as a hunter. No human could ever detect your lies, only people like him.
âYou know I know when youâre lying,â he said flatly, throwing you a dark look.
âBe content with that,â you bit back. âIâm not telling you anything else.â
Jeonghan shook his head, deciding not to press any further on the matter. He licked his lips, filling his lungs with the fresh midnight air that swept in through his rolled window.
âJeonghan,â you called softly and did not proceed with your question until he glanced your way. âWhy are you helping me?â
Jeonghan turned on a different street again, checking his rearview mirror, pretending to ready his answer. âI donât know,â he replied.
There it was the empty void extending between you and him. If he lied, you would have sensed it too.
âHow did you find me?â you pressed, trying to the best of your ability to analyze him. You were still weak, but you could still observe him despite your foggy brain.
âI donât know,â he repeated with a low tone that barely cut through the noise of the engine of the car.
It made no sense. The way he found you in the woods was not done with any of his training. He simply closed his eyes and let him be taken to you. He did not even think twice as he carried your body to his car and started it, taking you far away from the town where you would be at risk of being hunted down.
âWe have to lay low for now,â he mumbled, avoiding your eyes as he cut the engine on an empty parking lot.
You raised your gaze to the motel sign, flaring in red neon light. âIs this your version of laying low?â you said with a sarcastic huff. âWe couldâve done that back in the forest.â
Jeonghan opened the door, not bothering to look at you or give you a reply. âStay here.â
You saw him walking away from the car, putting his hands in the pockets of his black leather jacket, his long hair tied in a messy ponytail.
You could run away. You did not know if Jeonghan was even aware of this. Maybe he was, you had a bad leg, and you were growing weaker.
Plus, there was the fact that he was now aware that he could trace you with his eyes closed.
You swallowed hard, waiting for him in the passenger seat of his old Mustang. You were going nowhere.
Some minutes later, you saw Jeonghan exiting the building and walking towards your door, which he opened to retrieve his belongings, which were his belt and his knife.
âThis way,â he mumbled, motioning to one of the doors with a jerk of his head.
Reluctantly, you exited the car, closing the door behind you. Jeonghan turned and walked over to the door, introducing the key, and opening it for you.
You knew better than to fight it. There was a quiet storm brewing in the manâs head, and you were in its eye. You knew him well enough to tell when something was bothering him. And you knew what it was.
With a sigh, you walked inside the room. Â âOne bed?â you turned to him with an exasperated look.
âI didnât think you would mind,â he froze by the doorframe.
âWhatever,â you waved a hand dismissively before he could offer to change it.
As soon as Jeonghan closed the doors and the blinds, you started to the bathroom, taking all of your clothes off in front of him. You made no invitation, no offer but you still left the door open, the sound of the shower filling the tiny room.
Jeonghan made another small inspection, looking out of the window through the blinds before deciding to relax. He took his jacket off, leaving it neatly by the chair that was pushed to one corner of the room. He took his boots off, sitting down on the chair with a low grunt of exhaustion.
As he sat up straight, he caught sight of his hand, only noticing because he had started moving it, rubbing his palm on the exact spot where you had been injured.
âWhat the fuck?â he whispered to himself, raising his gaze as you returned to the bathroom, wholly naked, pressing a towel to your hair.
âYou okay, hunter?â you eyed him curiously, like a cat that just noticed a flashy light. Â
Jeonghan frowned, not at you but at the thing stirring inside his chest. That feeling he got only when he was with you. âWhen is the last time you fed?â
âHere we go again,â you rolled your eyes but continued towel-drying your hair without bothering to respond.
âAnswer me,â he muttered when you turned your back on him. Your reluctance to answer his question might have given him the answer.
âThe last time we saw each other,â you said, your words echoing his own thoughts.
âWhy?â the word was sharp like it took everything in him to suppress the dark emotion pulling on his every nerve. âThat happened months ago.â
âWhy do you care so much?â you spat, turning around to face him.
The question seemed to make him return to his senses, his eyes flickered with an emotion that you were to weak to catch. âI donât,â he replied, stepping back from his initial anger.
âIâll feed whenever I want to,â you said and this time you did not lie.
Jeonghan stood up, commanding your gaze to lift up to find his. âSo youâre not hungry?â
You bit your tongue. Your eyes were dead, and despite the hot shower you had just taken, you were cold to the touch as Jeonghan curiously raised a hand to your shoulder. It was pointless, your plan had crashed and burned miserably.
âIâve heard storiesâŠâ you whispered, closing your eyes to repel the sensation firing inside you. âStories of ways a demon can become human. You canât become human if youâre feeding off them, right?â
When Jeonghan did not reply, nor move you opened your eyes again. He was still rigid in the same trance he had been upon finding you injured and bleeding in the forest.
âYouâll die,â he sentenced after some seconds. âAre you insane?â
You brushed his hand off. âI knew youâd say that,â you whispered with a pained look, turning around to sit down on the bed. Â
âWhy do you want to become human?â the words sounded ridiculous as he uttered them.
âNot your business, Jeonghan,â you replied impishly, throwing the towel to him, which he saw coming, catching it with ease.
âIt is if youâre running away with me,â he said. Your temptation to feed could become dangerous. And he was toeing that line too deliberately.
âI didnât choose to run away with you,â you bit back with an indignant huff.
âThatâs the thanks I get?â he rolled his eyes in annoyance. âWhat was I supposed to do, then? Leave you to die? To be found by them?â
He did not need to explain who he referred to. The two hunters must have noticed that Jeonghan ran away with his things, his car, leaving an empty place behind. And you are nowhere to be found. He was a traitor.
âMaybe,â you whispered, lowering your gaze to your lap. You skirted the pads of your fingers around the wound that still refused to heal completely.
Jeonghan stood before you, using a hand on your chin to force your teary eyes on him. A finger scooped your tear as it rolled down your cheek. The tear glistened on the pad of his thumb as he showed it to you, a shocked expression plastered on his face.
Demons felt emotions, yes. But nothing like sorrow. Jeonghan had never seen a demon cry, let alone one that wanted to become human. It made no sense.
âItâs possible, Jeonghan,â you whispered shakily, letting your tears flow freely.
âHumans are weak. They get sick, they die. Besides, the guilt of everything youâve done as a demon will crush you,â he said, dropping his hand from your chin. âWhy would you want something like that?â
âIâm done talking,â you said childishly, turning over to draw the covers of the bed and tucked yourself in. âGoodnight.â
He blinked perplexedly at you. The best option was to wait for another opportunity to bring up the matter, but for now, he needed to rest. He disposed of his chest harness, and his knives, leaving them on the old and battered bedside table, where he could reach out if needed.
A smile threatened to break on his face when you turned slightly at the sound of him taking his pants off, then his long-sleeved t-shirt, discarding his clothes at the foot of the bed.
He paused, tugging the band of his black boxers with his fingers. He took them off, making things fair.
âIs that necessary?â you asked, narrowing your eyes at him as he sank under the covers with you.
âJust playing your game,â he said, tugging the hair tie loose before lying his head on the pillow next to yours.
âIâm not playing any games,â you huffed with annoyance, turning over so your back was to him once again.
There it was the ripple in the air between you and him. Jeonghan did not need to comment on it, but you hated it.
Hunter abilities or not, Jeonghan would be able to read through your lies blindfolded. He was just that good at reading people, reading you.
Jeonghan stared at the ceiling, his heartbeat going a mile per hour, like a birdâs wings batting frantically inside his chest. He swallowed hard, resisting the urge pushing him to raise his hand at you, to reach out and touch your skin.
You closed your eyes, commanding yourself to sleep. But it was nearly impossible. Jeonghanâs scent was too distracting. The hunger caved a hole deep inside you. It was no ordinary hunger, it was one that had your soul twisting.
You balled your hands into fists, sinking your face into the pillow. His lust was nearly palpable, looming over you like a monster preying on you.
However, you were too weak to actually act upon it. Soon, you fell asleep, not noticing when or how.
Jeonghan however, was too riddled with questions to do the same. He turned his head on the pillow, seeing your wet hair, your naked shoulder. His thigh throbbed in something that reminded him of pain, though his flesh was fine and did not hurt.
Why would you want to become human? What could be a good enough reason to want to abandon your life full of pleasures? It made no sense. Jeonghan had never heard of a demon becoming human, but he saw you crying, so that must mean that it could be done.
Still, it meant that there was a price to be paid. There always was.
Wandering through endless questions, Jeonghan fell asleep. Now and then he was reminded of your presence in the bed, feeling your warmth or hearing you move beneath the sheets.
Even if he were not a light sleeper, the distraction of your warmth was enough to stir him awake. He found himself entirely pressed to your body, his front to the back of yours. His nose buried in your mane of hair, an arm draped over your waist.
And he was hard. Fuck, he was so hard it was starting to become annoying. It would be so easy to slip himself inside your pussy, waking you up in the process. He had done it countless times before.
He let out a silent sigh through his nose, only getting the scent of your hair when he breathed in. Your hand found his arm parked on the curve of your waist, you were awake. Jeonghan pressed himself another inexistent inch further, his hard cock wedged on your ass.
âJeonghan,â you mumbled sleepily, turning over to see him. You threw him an innocent look, big eyes, pouting lips. âWhat are you doing?â
He responded by giving you a confused look. In other times, you would not even ask questions, you would just let him take you, take whatever he wanted, for however long.
Jeonghan brought a hand to your chin, his touch igniting your skin, making you blink dumbly. âHow long are you going to keep resisting it?â the words flew out of his mouth before he could even comprehend his own question.
But he knew what you were doing. He was an expert in pushing his feelings down, particularly, he knew what it felt like to resist this pull.
âHowever long is necessary, Jeonghan,â you replied, but your tone wavered in the urge to press yourself against his hand, to feel him.
âWhy?â he asked, his eyes skirting through your reaction. He knew you wanted this, why were you refusing him?
âIf I keep this for long I might get what I want,â you whispered, avoiding his eyes in utter shame.
âWhy do you want to become human so desperately?â he asked again, looking at you with an obfuscation that was hard to mask.
You shrugged, keeping your sunken gaze on his chiselled chest. âThat doesnât concern you.â
Jeonghan pressed his fingers on your chin gently, tugging you so you locked your pretty eyes with his. âDoes it not, really?â
Your brow furrowed, your gaze darkening. Feeling like you were being mocked, your eyes watered again. âFuck off, Jeonghan,â you scoffed weakly, trying to free yourself from his grip.
He did not want to see it, but your reaction told him everything he needed to know. It took him some seconds to shake the perplexion off. It made no sense. âDid you think that being human would change things?â
You made no verbal reply, scoffing as you brushed his hand off you one more time.
But you knew him well enough to expect that would not work on him. He needed an answer now, and he would stop at nothing to get it now that he knew it fully concerned him.
âDid you think I would want you more if you were human?â he asked without heat in his words, his gaze reading your features over and over. âDid you think that would give you a shot at a normal thing happening between us?â
âNo, Jeonghan,â you rolled your eyes, but he could see how much his questions had pierced through you. âQuite the opposite.â
He made a motion to pull his head back on the pillow as if that gave him a better frame of your face. âWhat?â
âI want this to stop,â you whispered, rolling over the bed to sit up with a sigh.
Jeonghan looked at your back, you let your head drop forward, sniffling softly but you were fully crying now.
âMaybe being human will make this stop,â you whispered, motioning a hand between his body and yours. By this, you meant, the out-of-the-ordinary need for him, the desperate craving that refused to let you live. Maybe then, the bond between you would not be so unbearable.
Jeonghan sat up too, trying to read any signs of your words being insincere. But he found nothing, the quiet tension falling in the room startled him, and it made him uncomfortable. Even more, the battering inside his chest was making it difficult to even breathe.
âThat makes no sense,â he mumbled with a hollow tone.
âIt makes perfect sense,â you bit back, throwing him a sad look.
You were weak, nearing a state that you did not comprehend. Becoming human meant that you also had to deal with human emotions, and they were flowing freely through you, giving you a taste of what you were about to face as a human.
However, making yourself human condemned you to a myriad of threats. Not just mortality. You would become a demon that betrayed its own kind. A traitor, too.
âAre you sure this is what you want?â he asked, trying to hold your gaze to read you better.
âI want to be rid of you by whatever means necessary,â you hissed, coating your words with venom.
âLiar.â
There was a shadow of a smile on his face, and before you resorted to a crazed fit of violence, you decided to crush your mouth with his, kissing him with enough vehemence it would hurt him if he were human.
But he was tough enough to take you. He released a grunt in your mouth that was from half arousal, half annoyance at you.
âYouâre a baby,â he grunted between hard kisses. âA bratty, fussy, melodramatic demon.â
âShut up, Jeonghan,â you hissed. âShut up or I swearâ,â
âWhat?â he bit back, holding your face with both hands, squishing your cheeks. âWhat will you do, eh?â
âDonât try me right now,â you said, kissing him repeatedly you were running out of breath.
âThatâs exactly what I want to do,â he chuckled. âDid you think that making yourself human would make me stop wanting you?â
âYes,â you hissed, pushing him back onto the bed with all the strength you had.
Jeonghan was stronger than you at that moment, but he allowed you to handle him with a triumphant smirk on his face. Nothing in existence would make him stop wanting you, damned to hell or not.
Though it made him curious to know. âDo you want to stop wanting me, then?â he leaned his head to his shoulder.
âIt would be nice to stop craving you all the time,â you said, sinking your face in the crook of his neck to kiss him.
âLiar,â he grunted, holding your hips as you made a trail of kisses down his beautifully scarred chest. âEven worse, youâre a masochistic one at that.â
The guilty giggle escaping through your lips gave him all the reassurance he needed. You were now soaking up his need for you.
âGods,â he breathed when your lips reached his hipbone. Your touch would never satiate the craving need inside him, but this night he would at least attempt to.
His fingers tangled in your hair, keeping his grip light but it would become difficult as you gave him a long lick from his ball sack to the tip of his cock. âFuck,â he gritted, tensing as you wrapped your mouth around the bulbous head of his cock. âYes, baby, just like that.â
The room fell silent again, but now all that surrounded you and him was lust and bliss. It had your blood revelling, sizzling beneath your skin to take him into your mouth. His fingers thread in your hair, caressing you as you bobbed your head up and down on him, sucking him off eagerly. You were tasting him, not only his skin, his arousal, but his lust. It drove you crazy.
âGods, I fucking missed you,â he drawled, closing his eyes briefly before he lost all control. He wanted to push his hips, to drive his cock into your throat. But he also wanted to take this patiently.
You explored him with your mouth, just like your hands were exploring his body. Not that his nakedness was new to you, but you had just gone months without touching him. And not for a single second did you forget the taste of him, you also missed him.
But did he miss you the same way you did? Did he crave to hear your voice like you did his?
Your transition from demon to human was painful, and you were throwing it all away in one night. And Jeonghan was willingly letting you feed off his lust, you were relishing the taste of his greed, sucking off the last bit of the self-restraint he had in him.
His fingers curled around your hair, clenching his jaw as he moaned in pure pleasure. He let out a gasp when your tongue swirled around his cockhead. âKeep doing that, baby,â he said languidly, following the movements of your head on him.
A strangled moan bubbled in your mouth, and you followed his command, rolling your tongue around his blunt head.
Jeonghan smirked knowingly. You weakened whenever he treated you with softness, so words like baby drove you crazy. He threw a look down at his body, capturing your eyes, darkened with a lascivious greed that only fueled his. âTouch yourself,â he said with a gruff tone. âI want you to come with me.â
You sneaked a hand between your thighs, moaning salaciously when your fingers stroked your clit.
Jeonghan sighed, blinking slowly at the sight of you, thinking of your drenched pussy, your fingers coated in your arousal as you rubbed fast swirls around your clit. âThatâs it, baby, just like that,â he praised, brushing your hair back with his long fingers. âYouâre such a good girl for me, you donât even know it.â
You moaned around his cock again, succumbing to a fast orgasm, your body trembled slightly.
âComing,â he whispered, his mouth falling open as ropes of cum spurted down your throat, moaning at the sight of you drinking him off completely, licking to the last bead of his cum. You littered the reddened cockhead with sweet pecks trailing down to his shaft, eliciting a raw chuckle from him.
âThat was amazing,â he whispered, enjoying the twinkle in your dark eyes upon being praised by him.
Jeonghan sat up, hooking one arm around your waist to throw you back onto the mattress. âYour turn,â he said with a wolfish grin.
You had recuperated the color in your cheeks, but you were still weak enough to fight his strength. You grunted as your head hit the pillows, but returned the smile at him. âYouâll see when I get my strength back.â
âOoh, scary,â he said, grazing his lips on yours.
âYouâll see,â you remarked.
âScary baby demon, what are you going to do?â he teased again, kissing the apple of your cheek, his breath caressing your ear.
âIâll make you suffer,â you mumbled faintly, closing your eyes as his lips reached the underside of your jaw, making you tilt your head back for him.
âI want to see that,â he said mockingly. âMake me suffer.â
You sighed a moan when he kissed your throat, giving you a broad stroke with his tongue, tracing your collarbones. âJeonghanâŠâ
âDonât throw another tantrum like that again,â he murmured against your skin, leaving another kiss on the plain of your breasts, before adding, âIâll be mad at you.â
A spark of wrath got mixed along with greed and lust, it was not new to you, but it was rare.
âIt wasnât a tantrum,â you argued, though your tone was made weak by his lips, his tongue licking one of your nipples, making you arch your back.
He paused, âI donât care,â he decided at once. âYouâre not doing it again.â
âYou donât get to decide what I do, Jeonghan,â you mumbled breathily, moaning as his mouth wrapped around your nipple, suckling at it softly once, then swirling the tip of his tongue around it.
Jeonghan did not respond verbally to your obvious lie. He did not have a say in your choices, but there was a force greater than him or you that tied you to him. So every choice you made, every choice he made, was bound to affect you both.
âHowâs your leg?â he asked, moving your thighs gently to slot his waist between them. His fingers traced a circle around the scar that was beginning to form.
âBetter,â you sighed.
âMmn,â he smirked at you, leaning over to kiss your lips. âWill it heal completely by the time Iâm done eating you out?â
âWhy, are you in a rush?â you quipped, arching an eyebrow at him.
There you were, he smirked. âI ache for you,â he whispered, letting his forehead fall upon yours. The shame coursing through him made you recoil but sensing it, he added quickly: âYou have not only starved yourself but starved me with your stupid little plan.â
âYou avoided me too,â you accused.
âI know, I was a fool,â he confessed, running his palms all over your body as if he could not do anything else. He sank down, leaving wet kisses down your tummy, his hands palming your breasts, his fingers lingering on your sensitive nipples.
You bit your lip, only in your most crazed fantasies did you dare to imagine him saying this. âYou were,â you whispered. âThe biggest fool.â
âUh-huh,â he hummed, kissing your mound generously, his hands grabbing your thighs with the lightest of touches before licking your pussy with a broad stroke.
âJeonghan!â you cried out, brushing his dark hair gently as he ate you out like a starved man, licking your folds thoroughly, his tongue sliding up to your clit to then suckle at it.
You arched your back, not caring about the light pain throbbing on your thigh. Jeonghan was giving you everything you needed, giving your pussy open-mouthed kisses, drinking your arousal in with pleased moans.
âFuck-k,â you gritted weakly, letting yourself be swept away by the gentle waves of your orgasm building inside you. âI m-missed you too, Jeonghan,â you mumbled.
He raised his gaze to yours, blinking slowly at you, pressing his tongue on your swollen clit, moving it swiftly in figure-eight motions, driving you to the edge. You gripped the bedsheets with one hand, the other flying to grab at the railings of the headboard.
âIâm close,â you gasped, breathing rapidly, welcoming the pleasure barreling through your body. âIâm close, Iâmâ, JeonghanâŠâ you closed your eyes, repeating his name over and over as you climaxed in his mouth.
But Jeonghan was not stopping. He continued making out with your pussy, enjoying the taste of your arousal pooling in your entrance, licking your folds with raunchy moans. His hands held you down as you shook with the aftershocks of your orgasm, caressing your tummy languidly.
âJeonghan,â you called, shuddering when his hand caressed your thigh as he littered it with kisses.
âSee? Healed,â he placed another kiss, right where your scar used to be.
You used your newly regained strength to push him, flipping the positions over so you were now straddling him. You let out a pleased sigh, effortlessly pinning his body down on the mattress.
âI take that youâre all set now,â he smirked, his hands roving all over your thighs.
Gods, you were a sight to behold. Your wings were at full display, resting freely at your sides. Your dark horns, curving back from the crown of your head, were on sight too. That meant you were comfortable around Jeonghan. You trusted him.
âNot yet,â you said, grabbing his hardened cock in one hand, planting the other on his abdomen for support as you eased your pussy down his length.
âFuck,â Jeonghan gritted, his hands flying to grab your hips as you started rolling them on him.
âWhatâs wrong, hunter?â you teased, leaning down so your face was close enough to prop kisses on his lips. âLost your footing?â
âYou got me for a second there,â he admitted with a smirk. âDidnât think youâd recuperate your strength that quickly.â
âMm, keep that in mind next time you kiss it better,â you said, trapping his bottom lip with your teeth, nibbling it softly.
Jeonghan moaned, your hips picking up the pace mercilessly, knowing the exact pace and motion that drove him insane. He closed his eyes, sighing out the euphoric feeling of being with you, like this, consuming each other.
âIt wonât happen again. Youâre not doing this to yourself again,â he said with a faint tone.
âYou donât make choices for me,â you retaliated, sinking yourself down on him with pleased sighs, planting your hands on his chiselled chest.
In a blur, Jeonghan grabbed your wrists with one hand flipping your bodies over, pinning your body with his hips on yours, his hand holding your arms above your head. Jeonghan moved his hips slightly, finding your entrance with his hard cock quite effortlessly.
Jeonghan gave a few shallow thrusts, stretching your walls, making your mouth part, giving way to a long moan. âFuck, Jeonghan,â you groaned lewdly.
âSay it,â he hissed, rolling his hips on yours slowly, but pushing his cock inside you deeper each time he thrusted in. âYou wonât do it again.â
âFuck you,â you gritted, falling deeper into the puddle of pleasure he was slowly submitting you into.
âSay. It,â he commanded, his thrusts gaining strength, becoming harder at each motion of his hips on yours.
You wrestled his grip on your wrists, without using your full strength. âNo,â you said with a hollow tone, the pace of his thrusts knocking the wind out of you.
âYou fucking brat,â he spat, pressing his face on yours, giving you a hard kiss in the process. âDelusional little demon. Did you think you could get rid of me that easily?â
âStop,â you gasped, shame heating your cheeks.
Jeonghan released his grip on your wrists, not letting you regain control by grabbing your thighs, throwing them on his shoulders before resuming with his near animalistic thrusts, groaning on your mouth as such, like an animal.
âJeonghan!â you cried out, his cock reaching inside you deeper⊠and deeper.
âDid you really think⊠Iâd stop wanting you?â he panted in between his hard thrusts, the strain in his voice telling you how close he was to his release. âIâll never stop wanting you.â
âJeonghanâŠâ you moaned.
âSay it.â
âI wonât do it again,â you said, trembling on the bed, reaching out to hold him right before you came undone beneath him.
âThatâs it⊠thatâs my girl,â he gasped, his bottom lip parting, releasing a raw grunt. Jeonghan moaned your name as he came, fucking his cum inside you with sloppy thrusts until he stopped, breathing hard on top of you.
Jeonghan eased your legs from his shoulders, deciding to rest his head on your chest. The sound of your heartbeat resonated through his head as he took a long breath. Your fingers caressed his nape lazily, shuddering under him when Jeonghan ran a fingertip on one of your wings.
This made no sense. To Jeonghan, everything had been black and white. His world was rigid, surrounded by unbreakable rules that made him into the person he was until he met you. Now, he was but the shadow of the man he was. He used to hate himself for wanting you. You were the thing he was raised to hate, to kill.
He did everything to keep you away. He bedded other women, he drank himself to sleep to not dream of you, he flew himself to different parts of the world.
And there he was, blissfully nestled in your warmth, in your embrace.
âWould you hate it if I became human?â
âNo,â he replied after some seconds. âBut I donât want you to do it because you think thatâs going to change something between us. Some things arenât meant to change.â
âHow can you be so sure?â you asked with a tiny tone.
Jeonghan raised his head, curiously looking at you. Even back with full strength, you still clung to some human vulnerability. âIâm not sure,â he confessed. âI donât understand many things. But I know that changing yourself wonât bring you happiness, only misery.â
âIâm just tired of this,â you said, and it did not matter that you could not cry anymore, he knew that the statement hurt to say.
Jeonghan got to his knees, pulling out of you gently to slump his body next to yours. He took one long look at you, reminiscing of what he felt when he knew you were slipping away. It was fear, that was undeniable, he was too familiar with that feeling. But never like this.
âI donât know what to say,â he said with a light frown.
âHow did you find me, Jeonghan? How did you know I was in trouble?â you dared to ask again, now your words taking another meaning.
Jeonghan paused. âI just did,â he said but rolled his eyes when you saw through his lie. âI felt something.â
âJeonghan,â you started, your tone reducing itself to a whisper. âThere is a reason why we canât get rid of each other.â
He went rigid, his eyes coasting all over the features of your face.
âHave you ever tried to⊠kill me?â you asked, hating how your words came off while lying naked next to him.
âYouâd know it if I had,â he said, taken aback by your questions. âWhy are you asking me this?â
âThere is a reason why you canât kill me,â you said, despite how crazy you were sounding. âI know youâve felt itâŠâ
Jeonghan sat up on the bed, gripping the bedsheets to steady himself. He felt lightheaded. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
âLiar,â you whispered, sitting up next to him.
He ran his hands on his face harshly. âStop that. This isnât a game.â
âThe last time we saw each other, you felt something,â you pressed, searching his eyes as he faced you.
âIt makes no sense,â he whispered dejectedly.
It made perfect sense. The grip that you had on him was unlike anything else he had faced. Time after time he tried to run away, to put distance between you and him. He always found his way back to you somehow, either by greed, by lust or purely by fate. He never knew why, he was bound to you.
âLook at me,â you said, and his gaze found you. âThereâs no point in fighting this. I know youâve tried it before, I tried too.â
âItâsâ,â
âImpossible?â you scoffed with a mocking smile.
It was a sick joke. A demon and her hunter. The lamb and the wolf, chasing each other endlessly.
âIs this why you thought becoming human was an option?â
You paused but nodded slowly after some seconds of pondering.
Jeonghan sighed, touching your forehead with his. âThatâs a high price to pay,â he whispered.
He knew your next words before you uttered them, âIâm willing to pay it, Jeonghan.â
âI donât want you to,â he gritted out his words, even if he did not understand, he could not stop fighting it any longer. âI like you the way you are.â
Demon or not, you felt something in your chest, tugging at you. âThatâs not the problem,â you shifted back, looking at his confused face.
âI canât have any ties to anyone,â he said. âSomeday Iâll end up dead fighting something stronger and quicker than me.â
âAfter todayâs events, I think itâs clear that I am chased by the same danger.â
âIâll grow old, and slow,â he added.
âI would too, if I were human. No one would hunt me down,â you countered, not convinced by the obfuscated look on his face. âI wouldnât have to feed from you.â
âYou could die in the process,â he said, and that was the final reason he needed.
âJeonghanâ,â
âNo,â he shook his head.
At that, you stopped fighting. You got out of bed, slowly picking up your torn clothes and putting them on without looking back at him.
His heart faltered, looking at you as you sat down on the edge of the bed, next to him. âDonât go,â he mumbled.
âGive me a reason to stay.â
Jeonghan swallowed his words, taking a last look at your eyes. Something tugged at his heart, urging him to stop you. But you were slipping through the door before he could spring to action.
Fool. He was a fool.

Masterpost
Bucky tossed his keys onto the counter, the familiar metallic clink echoing through the silent apartment. The quiet settled over him like a heavy blanket, oppressive and suffocating. The faint hum of the fridge and the soft ticking of the wall clock were the only sounds, filling the space where your laughter or the shuffle of your footsteps used to be. His eyes instinctively flicked to the small ceramic bowl by the doorâthe one heâd made you for your birthday last year, glazed in your favorite colors.
Empty.
His chest tightened. Youâd been home.
He let out a slow, uneven breath, running a hand through his hair, the motion doing little to ease the tension coiled in his shoulders. Of course, youâd come back at some point. You lived here too. And yet, seeing the empty bowl still sent a pang of something sharp through his chest.
He knew your shifts had been just out of sync with his, making it easy to avoid each other. And while the rational part of him told him this was a good thingâthat you both needed space to cool offâ but the last time you and him went this long without communicating or seeing each other was the first 5 years of your lives when you hadn't met yet, even your first big fight in high school only lasted 48 hours, yet another part of him, the part that constantly replayed the fight in his head, hated it.
God, he hated it.
He hated himself.
The weight of your absence was everywhere: in the way your bedroom door remained firmly closed, where it was usually freely open, in the lingering smell of your favorite shampoo that still clung to the bathroom, in the faint indent your slippers left by the couch. You were avoiding him, and he couldnât blame you. Hell, he was avoiding you too.
He sighed deeply, pulling his phone from his pocket when it buzzed. He lingered on his home screen of the photo of him and you. His thumb swiped across the screen, his heart sinking slightly when he saw the message from Sam.
Sam: Still no word from Nat?
Bucky: Not since that Friday. Sheâs still pissed, I guess.
Sam: Yeah, well⊠youâre lucky Y/N didnât tell her to throw your stuff out the window.
Bucky huffed a humorless laugh, shaking his head as he typed his reply.
Bucky: Wouldnât blame her if she did.
He stared at the screen, the soft glow illuminating his tired features. He could practically hear Natashaâs voice in his head, ripping into him with every creative insult she could muster. And, honestly? Sheâd be right. He was a dick. An asshole. Every name in the book and that was being kind.
But what hurt more was knowing that even now, even after everything, you were probably still defending him. You always did. You always had his back, no matter how much he screwed up. It was one of the things he both loved and hated about youâyour loyalty, your unwavering faith in him. And that only made him feel worse.
Because this time? He didnât deserve it.
With a frustrated sigh, he pocketed his phone and trudged toward his room, his footsteps heavy against the hardwood floor. The night stretched ahead of him, and all he could think about was the looming âgreat dateâ with Kate.
He should feel somethingâexcitement, anticipation, maybe even relief at the prospect of a distraction. But all he felt was dread, a gnawing pit in his stomach that only seemed to grow the closer it got to 5 p.m.
Kate deserved better than this.
So did you.
He sat on the edge of his bed, elbows resting on his knees as he rubbed his face with his hands. His mind was a storm of conflicting thoughts, each one louder than the last. He knew what he had to do, what he shouldâve done weeks ago. He shouldn't even have gotten more involved with someone else while his feelings were all over the place and his heart always was with you. But every time he thought about it, about ending things with Kate, his thoughts circled back to you.
What would you think? Would you even care? You never did before, did you? There was times in high school when he would see a slight sadness in your eyes when he was another girl and because of that he never let things get too serious with any of them, and it wasn't your fault directly he knew that, he was the one making the decision because in the end he would always chose you over them, and they eventually always gave him a 'You cant have a girl as your best friend!' 'Look at the way she looks at you!' 'Its her or me Bucky!'
Bucky leaned back, staring at the ceiling, the weight of his decisions pressing down on him. He had to get his shit together, had to figure out how to fix this mess heâd made. But first, he had to get through tonight.
--
The restaurant was warm, the low buzz of conversation filling the air as Bucky sat across from Kate. She looked beautiful, her dark hair falling in soft waves, a kind smile on her face. Sheâd dressed up for the occasion, wearing a sleek black dress that made her look effortlessly elegant.
âGlad we could finally make this work,â Kate said, her voice light as she sipped her wine. âWeâve both been so busy.â
Bucky forced a smile. âYeah, me too. Itâs nice to⊠slow down for a bit.â
Kate smiled, leaning on her hand as she studied him. âYou seem distracted, though. Long day?â
âSomething like that,â Bucky muttered, swirling his own glass of wine.
The truth was, he couldnât stop thinking about you. Wondering if you were still upset, replaying every moment of the fight in his head, the look on your face when you left. And then there was the matter of Kate.
Kate was kind. She was sweet, funny, and easy to be around. But she wasnât you. God, no one would ever be you.
She didnât make his heart race with just a glance. She didnât know every little quirk about him, like how he always needed coffee first thing in the morning before uttering a single syllable or how he secretly loved old noir films. How he had a secret vendetta against green m&m's because he almost choked on one as a kid and hasn't touched one since, how he preferred Hockey over Football but he would never tell Steve or Sam that. She wasnât the one he imagined sharing his life with, that had always been you, even when things were messy, it was still you.
âBucky?â Kateâs voice brought him back to the present, her brow furrowed with concern. âAre you okay?â
âYeah, sorry,â he said quickly, straightening up. âJust⊠a lot on my mind.â
Kate gave him a small, understanding smile. âYouâve been off since you picked me up. If somethingâs going on, you can tell me.â
Bucky hesitated, the words catching in his throat. He knew he couldnât keep stringing her alongâit wasnât fair to either of them.
He leaned forward, setting his glass down. âKate⊠I need to be honest with you.â
Her smile faltered slightly, but she nodded, encouraging him to continue.
âYouâre great,â Bucky started, his voice soft but firm. âYouâre smart, funny, your beautiful, perfect really and anyone would be lucky to be with you. But⊠my heartâs not in this.â
Kateâs expression softened, a hint of sadness in her eyes, but she didnât look surprised. âYouâre in love with her, arenât you?â
Buckyâs stomach twisted. He nodded slowly. âYeah.â
Kate took a deep breath, her lips pressing into a thin line before she gave him a small, bittersweet smile. âI figured as much. Youâve been⊠somewhere else this whole time.â
âIâm sorry,â Bucky said, his voice low. âYou deserve someone who can give you their whole heart. And thatâs not me.â
Kate reached across the table, placing a gentle hand on his. âThank you for being honest. It sucks, but⊠I get it. I think I knew deep down this was coming.â
Buckyâs brow furrowed. âKateâŠâ
She shook her head, a soft smile on her face despite the tears threatening to spill. âNo, itâs okay. Really. It hurts don't get me wrong, but I donât think youâre a bad guy, Bucky. Youâve always been kind, even if youâve been distracted.â
Her voice wavered slightly, but she pressed on. âHonestly, Iâm glad this happened now, before I got in too deep. I could see it from the start, you know? The way you look at her⊠and the way she looks at you.â
Bucky blinked, his heart clenching. âKateââ
âI hope it works out between you two,â she interrupted gently. âYou clearly care about each other. And even though itâs not what I wanted for us, Iâm glad you told me now instead of dragging it out.â
They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of unspoken words lingering between them. Finally, Kate withdrew her hand, giving him a nod. âTake care of yourself, Bucky. And⊠I hope she knows how lucky she is.â
Buckyâs throat tightened, but he managed to say, âThanks, Kate.â
As she stood to leave, Bucky watched her go, a mix of relief and guilt washing over him. He had ended things with her, but now he was left with the harder task: facing you.
He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his messages until he found Samâs text thread again.
Bucky: Itâs done. I ended it.
Sam: Finally. Now, whatâs your plan with Y/N?
Bucky stared at the screen for a long moment, his thumb hovering over the keyboard. What was his plan? All he knew was that he couldnât avoid you any longer.
High school - Junior Year
The bleachers creaked beneath you as you shifted, pulling your hoodie tighter around you against the crisp autumn air. The Friday night lights cast a golden glow over the football field, illuminating the players as they huddled together, the crowd buzzing with energy. But your attention wasnât on the gameâit was on the boy sitting next to you.
Bucky, with his ever-present leather jacket slung over his hoodie, was leaning back against the bleachers, his long legs stretched out in front of him. His eyes, usually so sharp and focused, were soft tonight, lazily following the movement on the field.
âYouâre not even watching the game,â you teased, nudging his arm with your elbow.
Bucky smirked, tilting his head to look at you. âAnd you are?â
You rolled your eyes, but a smile tugged at your lips. âIâm here for moral support. Steveâs playing, remember?â
âAh, right,â Bucky said, nodding solemnly. âGo team.â
You laughed, the sound light and easy, and he grinned, clearly pleased with himself. For a moment, the two of you just sat there, the noise of the game fading into the background as the chilly breeze swept through the bleachers.
Bucky leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees. âYou cold?â
You shrugged, even though you were. âIâm fine.â
Without a word, Bucky shrugged off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders.
âBucky, Iâm fine,â you protested, but you didnât make a move to take it off. The warmth and the familiar scent of leather and something distinctly him were too comforting.
âJust take it,â he said, his tone gentle but firm. âIâve got a built-in heater.â He flexed his arms, grinning. âThese guns.â
You snorted, shaking your head. âYouâre ridiculous.â
âYeah, but you love it,â he shot back, his voice teasing but soft.
Your heart did a little flip, and you ducked your head, hoping he didnât notice the heat rising to your cheeks.
Out of the corner of your eye, you caught movement as Steve jogged past the bleachers, heading toward the sideline. His gaze lingered on you for a moment longer than necessary, his eyes flicking between you and Bucky. He offered a quick wave before disappearing back into the game.
Bucky raised an eyebrow, smirking as he nudged your shoulder. âYou see that?â
âSee what?â you asked, confused.
âThe way Steve was looking over here,â Bucky said, his smirk widening as he leaned back against the bleachers. âIf I didnât know any better, Iâd think heâs got a little crush.â
You laughed, shaking your head. âSteve? Please.â
But Bucky wasnât done. When Steve came jogging back after the next play, Bucky waved him over, his grin turning mischievous. âHey, Rogers!â
Steve looked slightly hesitant but made his way over, catching his breath. âWhatâs up?â
Bucky nudged him playfully. âYouâve been sneaking glances over here all night. Something you wanna share with the class?â
Steveâs face turned a little red, and he quickly shook his head. âYeah, right, Buck,â he said, rolling his eyes. âDonât flatter yourself.â
Bucky laughed, giving him a light shove. âRelax, man. Just saying, if youâve got a crush, youâve got good taste.â
Steve shot him a look, but there was a hint of a smile on his face. âYouâre impossible,â he muttered before heading back to the field.
You watched him go, feeling a mix of amusement and curiosity. âYouâre such a troublemaker.â
âHey, itâs my job,â Bucky said, leaning in close, his voice low. âBesides, he totally does.â
You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the way your pulse quickened as Buckyâs arm brushed yours. âYouâre imagining things.â
âMaybe,â Bucky said, his eyes lingering on you for a moment longer than usual. âMaybe not.â
The air between you felt charged again, like it had earlier. But before you could say anything, the crowd erupted in cheers, breaking the moment. Steve had scored, and the entire crowd was on its feet, clapping and shouting.
âAtta boy, Steve!â Bucky cheered, clapping lazily.
You joined in, your heart still racing, but the spell was broken. The unspoken tension hung in the air, unacknowledged but palpable.
As the night wore on, you couldnât help but steal glances at Bucky, wondering what might have happened if the game hadnât interrupted.
Thursday Night
The apartment was quiet except for the faint hum of your playlist as you sat at your vanity, carefully applying the final touches of makeup for your date with Dean. It had been a whirlwind weekâfour dates in five daysâand each one had been incredible. Dean was sweet, funny, and attentive. Every moment with him felt easy, light.
But even as you smiled at the thought of him, a familiar ache tugged at your chest. You missed Bucky. You missed Natasha. Sure, youâd been talking to Wanda, Sam, and especially Steve, but it wasnât the same. Natasha was your person, your closest confidante. And Bucky? Well, Bucky was Bucky.
Steve had been your rock through everything lately, always ready with a kind word or a listening ear. But even with his unwavering support, youâd noticed something different in him recentlyâa lingering sadness in his eyes, or maybe it was just weariness. You couldnât shake the feeling that you were burdening him with all your baggage. So, youâd started keeping things to yourself.
Like the kiss.
Your first kiss with Dean had been sweet, gentle, and everything a first kiss should be. But even in that perfect moment, your mind had wandered back to Buckyâs kiss in collegeâdeep, passionate, and all-consuming. You shook your head, trying to push the thought away.
You were determined to move on.
Your heart skipped a beat. Before you could decide how to feel, there was a knock at the door.
Your phone buzzed with a message, pulling you out of your thoughts. You glanced at the screen:
Natasha: Itâs me.
Taking a deep breath, you walked over and opened it. Natasha stood there, her usual confidence softened by something more vulnerable. Without a word, she stepped inside, her eyes locking onto yours.
âI love you,â she said, her voice firm but gentle. âI miss you. And I hate having to hear about your dates from Dean at work, pretending like i know already. I canât stand it. I want to hear about them from you.â
You blinked, caught off guard.
âIâm sorry,â Natasha continued, pacing slightly. âBut I just hate seeing you sad. And yes, Iâve been mad at Bucky, but I know heâs not some horrible person. I understand his side too. Please, letâs just forget about it all, okay?â
Her words hit you like a wave, and you felt the weight of the past few days lift slightly. A small smile crept onto your face.
âDean and I kissed,â you said, your voice light.
Natashaâs eyes widened, and she gasped dramatically. âWait, what? No way, your kidding?" She paused looking you up and down, her eyes widening further "Are you seeing him again tonight?!â
You laughed, nodding "This will be 5 times this week.â
âOh my god!! Iâm so proud of you!â Natasha squealed, grabbing your hands.
You rolled your eyes but couldnât stop smiling. âIâm trying.â
Natasha grinned but then paused, her expression growing serious. âI heard you havenât seen or talked to Bucky yet, this has been the longest since--"
Your smile faded "High School" You finished nodding. âNo. Iâve been⊠avoiding him.â
She bit her lip, then hesitated before speaking again. âHe broke up with Kate.â
You froze. âWhat?â
Natasha nodded, her voice gentle. âI just think you need all the information. Whatever you want to do with it is up to you. But Iâll always support you, no matter what.â
You stared at her, your thoughts spinning. Bucky had ended things with Kate? Youâd spent the past few days convincing yourself that moving on with Dean was the right path, but now⊠everything felt complicated again.
Natasha squeezed your hand. âTake your time. Figure out what you want. Ill be here for anything and everything, okay?â
You nodded slowly, her words sinking in as you tried to steady your racing heart.
The elevator ride down to the lobby was a blur, your heart still racing from Natashaâs revelation. By the time you stepped out onto the street, youâd pushed the thought of Bucky breaking up with Kate to the back of your mind. Tonight wasnât about him; it was about Dean.
You spotted him immediately, leaning casually against his car, dressed in a dark button-down that hugged his frame perfectly. His eyes lit up when he saw you, and he pushed off the car, meeting you halfway.
âWow,â he said, his gaze sweeping over you. âYou look incredible, you always do"
You smiled, feeling a slight heat creep up your neck. âYou clean up pretty well yourself.â
Dean grinned, offering his arm. âShall we?â
You linked your arm with his, and he led you to the car, opening the door with a flourish. âSuch a gentleman,â you teased as you slid into the passenger seat.
âOnly the best for you,â he replied with a wink before closing the door and jogging around to the driverâs side.
The restaurant he chose was cozy, dimly lit with soft jazz playing in the background. The warm ambiance wrapped around you like a comforting hug as a host led you to a small table near the back, tucked away just enough to feel intimate.
Dean pulled out your chair, and you laughed softly. âStill keeping up the gentleman act, huh?â
âAlways,â he said, leaning in slightly as he took his seat across from you. âGotta keep you impressed.â
âMission accomplished,â you replied, taking the menu from him. âSo, whatâs good here?â
Dean leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table as he watched you with an easy smile. âEverything, but you canât go wrong with the lobster ravioli.â
You raised an eyebrow. âIs that what youâre getting?â
âAbsolutely,â he said with a nod. âBut if you want to try something else, we can share. Iâm a generous guy.â
You smirked. âGood to know.â
As the evening went on, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Dean had a way of making you feel at ease, his charm disarming and his humor sharp. He told stories about his travels, painting vivid pictures of cities and adventures that made you laugh and lean in closer.
âSo there I was,â Dean said, his hands animated as he recounted a tale of narrowly avoiding disaster on a hiking trip. âOne wrong step, and I wouldâve been headfirst into the river. My buddy still doesnât let me live it down.â
You giggled, sipping your wine. âYou seem like you get into a lot of near-death situations.â
âWhat can I say? I live life on the edge,â he teased, his voice dropping slightly as his foot nudged yours under the table. âBut donât worry, Iâm always careful when it counts.â
Your stomach fluttered at the subtle contact, and you found yourself leaning forward, resting your chin on your hand. âIs that so?â
Deanâs eyes darkened slightly, his gaze flickering to your lips. âIt is,â he said softly, his voice taking on a more serious tone. âLike right now. Sitting here with you⊠I want to make sure every moment counts.â
You felt your breath hitch, the weight of his words settling over you like a warm blanket. His hand reached across the table, his fingers brushing against yours. The touch was light but deliberate, sending a spark up your arm.
âIâm glad you gave me a chance,â he said, his thumb gently tracing circles on the back of your hand. âItâs been a long time since Iâve met someone like you.â
You swallowed hard, your heart pounding in your chest. âSomeone like me?â
Dean nodded, his gaze steady. âSmart, funny, beautiful⊠someone who knows what they want but doesnât take themselves too seriously. Youâre kind of amazing, you know that?â
You felt your cheeks heat up, and you laughed softly, trying to deflect. âYouâve got a pretty smooth way with words, Dean.â
He grinned. âThey're not just words. I mean it.â
The waiter arrived then, breaking the moment as he set your plates down with a polite smile. You and Dean pulled back slightly, but the air between you remained charged.
As you both dug into your meals, the conversation picked up again, filled with laughter and shared bites of food. Deanâs foot found yours again under the table, and this time you didnât pull away. Instead, you pressed back slightly, a small smile tugging at your lips.
When the check arrived, Dean insisted on paying, waving off your protests. âYou can get the next one,â he said, his eyes twinkling.
âNext one, huh?â you teased as you stood.
âOh, absolutely,â he said, offering his hand as you walked out of the restaurant. âIâm already planning it in my head.â
The night air was cool as you stepped outside, and Dean turned to you, his hand still holding yours. âWalk with me?â he asked.
You nodded, and the two of you strolled down the quiet street, the city lights casting a soft glow. Deanâs arm brushed against yours occasionally, each touch sending a warm pulse through you.
Finally, he stopped, turning to face you. His hand found its way to your cheek, his thumb gently grazing your skin. âIâve been wanting to do this all night,â he murmured before leaning in.
His lips met yours in a gentle, tender kiss, his other hand settling on your waist. The kiss was slow and sweet, filled with a quiet intensity that made your heart race. You leaned into him, your hands resting on his chest as you let yourself get lost in the moment.
When you finally pulled back, Dean rested his forehead against yours, his breath warm against your skin. âPerfect,â he whispered, his voice filled with awe.
You smiled, feeling a mix of warmth and a lingering ache. âYeah⊠perfect.â
As you and Dean walked hand in hand through the city streets, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, filled with easy laughter. The warmth between you was undeniable, but there was still a small knot of tension in your chest, one you couldnât quite shake.
Dean glanced at you, his expression thoughtful. âSo, Natasha mentioned something interesting the other day.â
âOh?â You raised an eyebrow, curious but wary of what Nat mightâve said.
âYeah,â he said, his tone light. âShe told me about this tradition you and your friends have. Every Friday night, you all meet up at your favorite bar?â
You smiled softly. âThatâs true. Itâs kind of a ritual for us. Weâve been doing it for years.â
Dean nodded, his eyes warm. âShe also mentioned that people youâre seeing are allowed to come along.â
You froze for a second, your heart skipping a beat. âShe did, huh?â
He gave you a small, reassuring smile. âLook, I know we havenât put a label on anything yet, and I get that you want to take things slow. I respect that, completely. But I just want you to know that Iâm in this if you are. And if youâre comfortable, Iâd love to meet your friends. Natasha always talks about how close you all are, and honestly⊠it sounds amazing.â
You hesitated, your thoughts immediately drifting to Bucky. Things with Natasha had started to smooth over, but the idea of bringing Dean into the fold brought a new wave of uncertainty. Would Bucky even be there? And if he was, how would he react?
But then again⊠Bucky or no Bucky, you couldnât avoid him forever. You literally lived together, and at some point, youâd have to face him. Maybe doing it with your friends around, with Dean by your side, would make it easier. Maybe it was time to stop letting Buckyâs presence dictate your decisions.
You took a deep breath, forcing the knot in your chest to loosen. âOkay,â you said finally, your voice steady. âYeah, Iâd love for you to meet my family.â
Deanâs eyes lit up, his smile widening. âFamily, huh? That close?â
You nodded, a fond smile tugging at your lips. âYup. Theyâve been my rock through everything. Weâve been through a lot together.â
âI canât wait to meet them,â he said, his hand giving yours a gentle squeeze. âAnd hey, no pressure. If it gets too much, weâll leave. Iâm there for you, no matter what.â
You smiled, grateful for his understanding. âThank you, Dean. That means a lot.â
âOf course,â he said softly. âYouâre kind of incredible, you know that?â
"You said that already" Your cheeks warmed, and you leaned into him as the two of you continued your walk, the tension in your chest easing just a little.

Summary: Sex Pollen! (based off my Gif Skit)
Inspiration Song: "Nashe si chadh gyi" by Arijit Singh (song had to be translated)Â
Requester:Â @GloriousLoki666 (wattpad)
Rating:Â RÂ
Note: been awhile since i wrote another sex pollen one shot Lol This was my FIRST
Loki held his breath while the tips of his fingers assured the bowl was set down without a sound. His eyes flicked once again towards the door- no sign of Y/N. finally being able to relax, he smiled down at the plate of chocolate chip cookies and knew the only thing left to do now, was wait.
Luckily, Y/N and Loki were the only ones in the tower for the day, so mistakenly pranking anyone but her was nearly impossible. It has been like this for weeks, both bickering and throwing dry comments at each other before the insults slowly evolved to more physical action.
Pranks. Cruel ones at that, and this time it was Lokiâs turn for revenge.
Having to buy the cookies from the store- due to the fact that he was still learning how to make things himself- it also assured Y/N that there was nothing tampered with so sheâs just have to eat one. Or so she thought.. magic was helpful when it came to avoiding hands on methods so a simple enchantment had been in order.
Simply consuming a single cookie would send her into a sexual overdrive, making her have to pleasure herself for about 24 hours straight to be sated. It had been merely an equal punishment he chose out when she had made many jokes about his sex drive in front of the team, making them think he couldnât win over a woman and relied upon his hand half the time. Well sheâd have to do just that for how she tried to humiliate him..
With a smirk, Loki turned to leave only to find Y/N herself scampering into the kitchen for her usual âsweet toothâ oâclock time ritual, as she called it- basically looking for something sweet in between responsibilities she was stuck with around here.
Casting a glance over at him, Loki busied himself in the fridge, looking as distracted and disinterested as he could while he hoped she would notice the plate on the island counter.
ââThor went shopping again?â she asked, glancing at the plate while Loki looked over his shoulder, pretending to notice them himself with a raised brow.
ââperhaps, or perhaps I made them.ââ
ââyou made them?â she asked with a hidden scoff, closing the cabinet to fully turn around and inspect the cookies on the plate.
ââindeed darling, Iâve been brushing up on my Midgardian skills around here and figured it might be best to offer it as a.. truce.ââ He told her gently, closing the fridge to turn to her, resting his palms upon the counter across from her while the plate sat in between them.
Y/N looked at him again skeptically before she dropped her gaze at the cookies, inspecting it as if it were a bug that shouldnât be there. While distracted, Loki found his own eyes taking in her attire- she took advantage of the cozy work quarters of the tower and opted to where an oversized hoodie and shorts. Her hair was a bit messy, indicating she had been working for quite a while- laying on her tummy in bed no doubt, as heâs caught her many times. The brief feeling of movement in his groin at the thought had his brow raising and his eyes moving to see if it were possible before her words snapped him out of the impossible.
ââbullshit.ââ
ââexcuse me?â he said almost offended.
ââI want to call bullshit, you might as well have put laxatives or something in there. unless of course.. you have a bite.ââ She said calmly, looking up at him with a challenged look in which he straightened and took personally.
Pranking was a delicate business and any sere hesitation could give away his position to make it real. As a slight amount of panic set in, he also told himself that with the amount of sex pollen he had put in for her body weight, couldnât possibly be enough to affect his Asgardian form. So, taking hold of one between his thumb and pointing finger, his eyes made eye contact with her while he raised it to his lips.
His expression was unreadable yet his eyes held the same amount of challenge in her own while he bites down on a decent yet small bite. Not once breaking eye contact, he let a small smirk show while he chewed before he waved a hand at the rest of the plate. ââfair, darling?â
Her own lips pulled to a smirk and she shrugged, walking past him while her arm grazed his own briefly while he turned to watch her walk away. âânot hungry, maybe later.ââ
His eyes glared at her while she walked away, finding his gaze slowly move down to her swaying hips while he tried to focus on hating her. with a tiny sigh, he looked back at the plate to debate on throwing them out before her scent seemed to catch his attention. Turning back around as if to find her coming back, he didnât find her there. The sound of her door shut down the hall while he was left inhaling deeply with his eyes fluttering closed.
âgods.. did she always smell like that?â he thought, his body tensing to feel another twitch come from his cock and he dropped his eyes to it through the pants. Slight panic squeezed his chest while his eyes rounded and rose towards the halls.
âoh.. Norns..â
~ 3o minutes.. 30 minutes and still no relief. He had been at it none stop and slumped panting against his door while his hand dropped to his side in defeat. How much had he enchanted it with? Surely not a lot.. it should have only been mild with her mortal body in consideration.. he was a god! It should have barely got him aroused!
His eyes closed with furrowed brows while another wave of arousal hit him. his body tensed and he could feel more beads of sweat come to his temples while his shirt stayed unbuttoned with the prayer of perhaps the AC finally turning on. He was practically raw and sore and nothing he had thought of had worked. He even tried several enchantments but the issue at hand made concentrating difficult.
The worse part is, he could still smell her..
He probably could have suffered an hour of this than find himself at her door. It be to humiliating and would only provide her more content to tease him more. Yet 24 hours would nearly kill a person, him anyway for despite her constant teasing involving a lacking partner, his libido was very much high at all times.
It was hard to find ones willing when all the saw was âthe destroyer of New Yorkâ first.
After the last 30 minutes of debating, he knew this hour had been the worst in his life and it was not going to get any easier the more time passed. In fact, sex pollen normally worsened the more one waited and didnât leave the victim a pretty sight if they didnât get relief.
Growling, he finally put himself away and straightened himself out, pausing now and again to regain his body once another wave hit before he could continue. He wasnât even sure what he was wanting to ask her while he stood at her door and his hand hesitated to knock while his body buzzed. He had been severely aroused by the mere scent of her, she was most likely the one whoâd be able to cure him.. theoretically.
With a gentle knock he almost regretted, the door opened to find Y/N with a surprised look and a step back.
ââ..you donât look well..ââ she told him, quickly giving him a look over.
ââI need your assistance.ââ He mumbled, looking literally anywhere else but her.
ââthe medicine is behind the mirror in the bathr-ââ
âânot- like that.. Iâm afraid itâs a bit more complicated than that..ââ Loki sighed, keeping his arms crossed while he shifted uncomfortably for more matters than one. By her silence, his eyes dared to look at hers just to find them quickly switching up from where they most likely had been staring at but she regardless stepped aside and let him in.
Stepping inside, he closed his eyes to make explaining a bit easier while she shut the door behind him. even with her behind, it was as if she were right in front with her scent more intoxicating as ever. His lips parted, trying to find words but had to take a moment to regain himself while he turned to look at her with guilt.
ââ..I may have placed a dose of sex pollen into the dessert from earlier in hopes you would consume one as revenge from your sexual remarks the other day. I wasnât aware a bite would affect me and this.. issue will only subside after at least 24 hours. Nothing I have been doing has been successful at fixing it but the spell indicates that the one whom the victim favors could.. rid of it faster.ââ
Lokiâs eyes rounded a little, stopping short after hearing himself through his rant. Did he just confess? By her own rounded eyes, it would appear that he did while she stared at him in shock and parted lips. The silence made him shift a little, causing her to indeed switch her eyes down to the evidence he had in his pants and another wave of arousal came over him. taking a step back, he hunched a little while drawing in a sharp breath, looking timidly at her while her eyes seemed to harden and her arms moved to cross over her chest.
ââafter all this time... after all this time of your insistent torment and teasing.. you suddenly come to me for help??ââ
His eyes lowered with guilt while his voice began to sound horse with strain, fists clenching at his sides while he made sure to keep looking at her. ââ..this is important-ââ
ââthen make it important.ââ She snapped, eyes narrowing while she held on to the audacity of him actually trying to sex poison her. ââyou got yourself into this mess, how exactly are you going to fix it-ââ
ââI know youâve endured a lot and that is my fault-ââ a slight groan left his lips while his eyes closed tight, slowly causing him to sink to his knees in front of her while he sucked in a breath and kept his hands in his lap to at least try to conceal the obvious.
Her eyes seemed to have less hate towards him while they followed him down, clearly seeing him in pain while she hugged her arms and held her breath.
ââbut.. but I'll make it up to you.. all of it just- please.. I need your help..ââ he said with a low voice, exhaustion washing over his body while he shifted on his knees again at the pressure.
The sight of a knee in front of him had his eyes raise to find her kneeling in front of him, eyes looking almost out of pity and hidden amusement- which almost seemed to be just as bad as hate while he held his tongue and watched her. ââkarma is a bitch, isn't it?ââ
His jaw tightened and he knew she was going to take advantage of this- half debating on just taking the left over 24 hours to avoid this humiliation if walking didnât seem impossible right now. ââ..it is..ââ he ground out.
ââand what have we learned?â she asked, almost to innocently while her other knee joined the floor and her hands rested on her thighs to mirror his position.
His eyes seemed to study her, cruelty and all. She was intoxicating, how mischief seemed to mask his own and he almost wanted to laugh at the end of all this on how it backfired on him. despite their sarcasm, he almost found himself looking forward to their bickering and debates, her facial expressions that changed and her hip sways she offered while walking away from her own deliverance. Even now by the mere memories, he had to stop himself from leaning forward right then and there while his nails dug into his palms by her scent.
ââ..a prank will sometimes backfire..ââ
ââwhat else?â she asked, her voice seeming to drop lower to a whisper while her eyes studied him.
ââ...to never get the pollen involved specifically..ââ he grumbled, knowing she was relishing his state yet she hinted with a promise at the end of all this, so he stayed put in his submissive position.
Y/N nodded by his answer, a slow hand reaching out to be placed against his manhood, making his eyes slowly close with almost a relived breath by her simple action. ââand thus, we have a.. big problem..ââ
If his eyes hadnât been closed, he would have seen her shocked gaze upon her discovery of his size. Her eyes dropped down while her hand began to paw at him, making him tense and shiver while he drew in another sharp breath.
ââyes..ââ he answered, not exactly sure of the question anymore as soon as he felt her hand press against his chest and push him down onto his back. His palms flattened against the soft carpet below him while his eyes fluttered open at the sound of his zipper.
ââI like you to Loki, and despite our ways and differences.. Iâm glad you came to me for help..ââ she whispered, honesty surprising him while he raised his head and propped himself up on his elbows while she worked at freeing his erection.
ââyou do?-ââ he nearly groaned while she wrapped her hand around him, his eyes falling closed while her eyes took in the mere size of him.
ââI do.. even if youâre a pain in the ass sometimes..ââ she smiled a little and bit her bottom lip while her eyes dropped to watch what she was doing eagerly.
ââI could be,ââ he offered with a teasing smirk, having her hold in a small laugh before she began to gently stoke him and immediately shut him up.
He slowly moved back onto the carpet, his fingers hitting the floor at his sides and curling into the fabric while her hand moved smooth and steady around him. ââfuck..ââ he moaned out, his voice breathy while he could already feel relief beginning to wash over him.
She couldnât help but smile while she watched his beautiful face contort and his body squirm now and again. It was almost like a sense of power, being able to make a god crumble by merely her hand and it only urged her to stroke him faster. She could feel her own arousal hint between her legs, causing her thighs to press together while her thumb now and again ran against the tip and spread his pre-cum more onto his cock.
ââgods Y/N.. youâre.. ââ he shuddered and felt his hips buck up into her hand now and again while he couldnât even finish his sentence. She was amazing, skilled and beautiful in every which way. Even through the trials and turmoil she was still willing to help him. he even began to wonder when her attraction began towards him but heâd have to ask later.
ââyouâre so big..ââ she breathed, her inner thought speaking out loud while she still tried to believe what she was holding. Without missing a beat, she granted her wants and lowered her mouth onto his tip, flicking her tongue against him and earned a colorful curse word from Loki while he moaned his name.
ââyou feel amazing darling..ââ he breathed, a hand slowly moving to rest against her head, allowing her to set the pace but his fingers began to automatically curse into her silky hair.
She let out a hum, sending vibrations through him in which he bucked up again, making her move her other hand to his hip to try to keep him down while the other continued to pump him. now her mouth began to lower, sucking and licking at what she could take in while her hand covered the rest.
Old Norse language seemed to slip from Lokiâs mouth, whispers and broken sentences while his brows furrowed and his body tensed. ââIâm almost t-there Y/N.. please- fuck..ââ he moaned, tightening his hold on her hair while he restrained himself from pushing her down.
Moving even faster, a moan left her own mouth while she stroked and sucked. There was a lot to work with and her thighs shifted frequently to relieve some of the pressure of her own between them until he felt his hand pushing her more down onto him.
ââfuck- Y/N!â he moaned a curse, her name like music on his lips while he felt his orgasm crash and his hips bucked up into her on their own accord.
She eagerly drank him, gripping his hips tightly with both hands while she stayed where he had her. her legs shook and her eyes looked up at him as if she were drunk and pleased. Panting, he felt a tired grin tug his lips while he slowly let go of her hair and stroked her head, his hand falling down to caress her cheek before he felt himself soften a bit and she released him from his mouth.
His head laid down with exhaustion, relief enveloping him while he took in a deep breath and his body relaxed. ââthank you.. Y/N..ââ he said quietly while he felt her crawl up his body to straddle his mid-section, hands at his chest while she looked down at him with a pleased smile.
ââwere you really not hungry?â he asked with a small grin, hands coming to rest at her hips while she shook her head, remembering the cookies.
ââI knew there was something up with them as soon as I saw them. The best part about baking, is the fresh smell it leaves and there was nothing to be found in the entire tower. So store buying them was the first hint, and knowing you, there had to be something else.ââ
Loki hummed at his mistakes, wanting to kick himself for it if he didnât feel himself getting hard again with her on top. This time it didnât hurt and from her rosy cheeks, he knew she had noticed as well.
ââyou werenât joking about your libido..ââ she teased, biting her bottom lip while she began to tease him with the rock of her hips and his lips tugged into a smirk at what she said next.
ââI got something you could eat..ââ

What if Worst Wolverine was the same Wolverine from Origins? What if he learned that "Deadpool" Wade Wilson was "Weapon X" Wade Wilson?
Inspired by this ask.
---
When Logan first met Wade in the bar, he felt oddly familiar. Like he knew him, but he couldn't quite place where. He felt nostalgia and regret and something else bubbling up to the surface without his consent. It felt foreign, and he brushed it off when he sobered up. But he kept it in the back of his mind.
But he kept being familiar. His voice, the way he fought, his mannerisms... it was all reminiscent of somebody he felt he should know. Someone long gone.
But it couldn't be, right? All of his old teammates were dead. If this world followed a similar timeline, there's no way this could be someone he knew. He must just be grasping at straws. Delusional, as usual.
It all came to a head a few weeks after the dust had settled. Wade and Logan were drinking together in their apartment, and Wade lopsidedly grinned at Logan with flushed cheeks. Logan felt his heart stutter.
"You know, you were just as cool back then," Wade giggled. "You looked good when you were younger, though I think the silver fox look fits you more with the grey streaks."
Logan frowned. "What do you mean when I was younger?"
"C'monnnnn Wolvie," Wade cooed as he leaned his head against his hand. "Back when we were in the Weapon X program together? I mean, we might not have been the best of buddies but it's kind of mean of you to forget about me."
It's like a part of Logan's brain unlocked. Wade fucking Wilson. Of course Logan remembered him, but he was so different that Logan had never made the connection.
Logan had a complicated relationship with Wade. He both respected him and thought he was a nuisance. Wade's skills were undeniable, but so was his motor mouth. Logan groaned in annoyance most of the time, but Wade's quips had managed to pull a snicker out of him on more than a few occasions. He tried to feign annoyance, but despite what people said, Wade was funny. His jokes were one of the only things that brought any life to the dreary and harsh environment.
Back then, Logan had still been tangled up with Victor and didn't let himself get too close to others (for both his own and their sakes). Still, Wade had found him in the corner of a bar a few times when the rest of the team was partying. He'd sat next to him and just... kept him company. He rambled on about inconsequential things, avoiding the more serious topics. He offered a distraction, a reprieve from the constant violence and solemn atmosphere. Logan appreciated it more than he could convey at the time.
And on the rare instances where Logan wanted to talk, Wade listened. Even if it was drunken gibberish, regrets and frustrations and feelings spilling out into the open. More notably, he didn't report him for having second doubts about the missions. Anyone else would've. Logan didn't do friends back then, but he'd consider Wade the closest thing he had to one.
And then Logan had quit. And left behind his teammates, cutting off all chance of further development. And then Logan had returned, but too late. By then, Wade had been turned into that... thing... by Stryker.
Oh god. The thought of it made Logan want to throw up. Wade, always chattering, with his mouth stitched shut. A mindless drone made to obey orders, a complete antithesis to the man who bent the rules and smiled privately at Logan when he rambled about what could be interpreted as treason. A mockery of everything he stood for.
That Wade was... the same as his Wade. Deadpool was Wade Wilson. Wade Wilson now was the same Wade Wilson from back then.
That means in his world, he'd let Wade down. He'd abandoned him and left him to be experimented on. Worse, he'd killed him. Logan killed Wade.
Fuck. The reason he didn't recognize Wade in the bar was because his was long dead. A clone that he himself had killed.
He looked at Wade, blushing and smiling with adoration in his eyes even as he feigned indignation at Logan not remembering. He looked at Wade and imagined him trapped in his own body, personality erased and gone. He imagined him with his mouth sewed shut, never to speak again. With a flat and empty stare instead of the twinkle in his eye.
Wade had saved him from himself. He'd given him a new home and fought for him to keep it. He'd been willing to die for Logan when nobody in his own universe would so much as look at him. Logan owed him an insurmountable debt, one that he couldn't even begin to repay in this lifetime. But he was trying. To make Wade happy, at least. It was his purpose in this world and would continue to be until Wade decided to throw him out or he finally kicked the bucket.
So the realization that he'd failed his own Wade so horribly made him viscerally ill. Even back then, Wade had been the only one to really see him when nobody else did. When even Victor just looked for a distorted reflection of himself and when everyone else wanted a mindless tool, Wade acknowledged Logan.
In a time when Wade didn't owe Logan shit, when he could've gotten in trouble for being complicit if Logan actually went through with what he said, Wade still protected him. And Logan didn't even think to check up on him in return. (Even when he knew Wade checked up on him. The Tylenol and water beside his bunk didn't appear out of nowhere. He didn't even remember climbing into bed before he passed out.)
Logan left him to die. Logan let Wade die. Wade, who was smart and funny and charming and caring and everything Logan was not. Wade, who had all of that stripped from him while Logan got to keep living. Logan, who took that chance and spat on Wade's fucking grave by ruining it all.
Logan wanted to throw up.

The Tower Stairs: Rollo Flamme
"Forget about school while you're here and enjoy a moment of respite in Fleur City." The words should not be bouncing around in your brain like a screensaver, hitting on the edges left by overblot after overblot. You wish Vil was here to remind you that not everyone who hurt you had been so callous in the aftermath.
But he's not. The only one here who is willing to point out the wrongs is Rollo. Are you wrong for being tempted to let him take advantage of that?
notes: This is fucking 10,225 words and only lightly proofread, sorry. they/them used for Yuu, SPOILERS FOR ALL OF GLORIOUS MASQUERADE, light references to events surrounding overblots, non-consensual drugging and possible Stockholm syndrome, Yuu feels isolated and Rollo has an idea just hear him out. Lots of toxicity all around please be advised This is technically part of a series, the first part features Azul. If you like those consider checking out my masterlist.
Two sentences.
Two students will be sent as attendants to the invited mages. One monster and one magicless human, approximate measurements attached per your request.
Two sentences barely acknowledging your existence and that was it; the foolish mage in charge of Night Raven hadn't even thought to include a name or photograph (the monster got the same treatment but he could not really bring himself to care as much about that) and he hadn't even made notes about food preferences or allergies. The attached note was a post-it scrawled in the most haphazard and uncaring handwriting that he needs to take a brief moment to breathe, turning away from his desk to throw another log on the fire and breath in the soothing scent of the smoke. He doesn't even know what their favorite color is, those poor fools will have to make a guess while they obsess over what costume to throw at them.Â
Costume. His eyebrows twitch as he brings the handkerchief to his nose, the smoke no longer enough to distract from his disgust. Breathe in, the gentle aroma of rosemary and lavender brings clarity though solace remains tentatively hanging in the bell tower along with all of his hopes, breathe out. He dares not risk ruining the foolish surprise by asking, but he makes sure to take a nice sheet of paper and properly write out the notes on their measurements neatly, tacking it to the top of the stack where it belongs. This festival was always meant to be for the virtuous, and while he may not know them, what he has seen of the others guarantee them to be the best of the lot. The bell dutifully rings out the evening toll and Rollo takes one last look at those two sentences. He pities you; that's the explanation he reaches for the pain searing in his chest.

Halloween feels more like Christmas with how big of a deal all your friends are making of it, and you really lack the words to explain how strange that makes you feel. It's not a bad sort of strange you suppose as you twirl a little of the thickly embroidered fabric in between your fingers. Festivities bring good food, an excuse to avoid classwork, and a way to guise showing affection under holiday obligation; it's just a bit odd to see it cloaked in orange, blacks, and pumpkin carvings and not pine needles and nutmeg. But all of these thoughts are irrelevant, meant to try and distract you from the waiting crowd outside and the social you've been pawned off on. You take a deep breath, trying to focus on how excited Grim sounds and how cute you know he will look to avoid the terror of being seen.
"Forget about school while you're here and enjoy a moment of respite in Fleur City."
Your eyes meet Rolloâs before you shamefully turn to your friends, disappointment flashing through you with just how impassive his gaze remains despite the beauty of the costume. Itâs just a stupid âcrushâ on a guy who if you in your right mind you would insist looked ugly. A real choice example of âguy you didnât know magic could invent,â 18 going on 80, someone who if you had admitted out loud to wanting to get to know better as a friend you would be judged heavily for. And if you are being honest with yourself it isnât even really a crush, itâs just your stupid brain firing off a bunch of dopamine at someone offering you a genuine break and some sympathy for the troubles he assumed youâd been through. Vil remembered. The tiny, tired voice of reason tried to do its job at the back of your skull. It is probably very dark and lonely back there. Maybe guys from the Shaftlands are just built different. Even it was overworked and making concessions.
âIt looks like you are wearing matching outfits.â Deuceâs kind smile brings you out of your head and back to reality. Â
âYou look like youâre matching with Riddle!â You say and smile wide when both Deuce and Riddle puff up in pride.
âWe both look like proper card soldiers,â Riddle actually bows to the Vice-President, who looks really happy to receive the praise âyou must have really put a lot of thought into these.â Â
âGlad you noticed!â You see Rollo pull out that strange handkerchief and inhale as his Vice-President happily chirps away. âSince your Headmage noted your dormitories we tried to include inspiration from the Great Seven in the costume themes! The costumes are supposed to respect tradition, and your school has some too, we figured âwhy not combine them?ââ Â
âWhereâd mine come from then?â Grim doesnât seem too fussed even though he asks, he must really like his outfit. âYuu and I are the only ones who care about our dorm.â
âYes the⊠note provided for you was most inadequate.â Rollo is technically addressing the crowd, but his gaze remains firmly on you. His eyes are beautiful, green and blue swirling in what you delusionally swear is a gentle dark gray frame that will dull and snap back to firm disinterest once he returns to your seniors. âAs such I suggested the capes but these two came up with the rest.â
âWe went with purple and black since those are both NRC and NBC colors.â The VP gives you what should be a confident thumbs up that you barely pay attention to, still caught up in the intensity of Rolloâs gaze. Â
âThank you.â You barely manage to break away from it and miss the way Rollo seems to somehow stand taller, even if he does not say-
âYouâre welcome!â The vice-president and aide continue to glow with everyoneâs praise. âWe really hoped you would like them.â Â
You can barely hear their words over your focus on him. If he feels the weight of your gaze he doesn't flinch, nor does he acknowledge it, leaving Treinâs voice to cut through your stupor, startling you with an expectation of disappointment or trouble. But it isnât there, he simply seems concerned, and thankfully not with you. You cannot say the same of your classmates, but then again you had also forgotten the headache you got listening to them argue over their fieldwork group names. Seriously, how old were Azul and Idia again? And you arenât going to think about Malleus right now, the ibuprofen Trey had helped you pack was with your luggage not the pockets of your costume.Â
âWhat will Yuu be doing?â Rollo is as impassive as ever, but he once again looks at you as he asks, as if he expects you to be a part of the conversation. How cute.
âYuu and Grim will be with me.â Trein turns to scold your friends and though you expect Rollo to follow, or maybe excuse himself to his duties he does not.
âAre you alright with this arrangement?â He asks.
âOh we discussed it before we got here.â You rush to pacify, which startles Rollo more than soothes him. âAs long as Grim gets to eat a bunch of stuff weâll be fine.â If anything it will probably keep him distracted from causing trouble to keep bouncing back and forth between the groups, but you donât say that outloud.Â
âYeah!â Grim cheers, excited by the mention of his name if nothing else. âThis place has got all sorts of great food right?! Riddle was tellin me all about it.â Rollo seems displeased, the handkerchief comes out from his pocket but he doesnât hold it up to his face yet, choosing instead to focus on your eyes.
âI wasnât asking about Grim.â Your little friend begins to make noises of protest, but they quiet as he looks back and forth between you both. But if Rollo has more to say he is forced to keep it to himself.
âHuman!â Sebekâs shout demands your attention and you see Rollo finally lift his arm to take the deepest breath yet into his handkerchief. âYou had better not plan on keeping Lord Malleus waiting! Have you already forgotten he specifically requested you accompany his group?!?!â You havenât, but you know Sebek wonât hear that. Â
âSorry, duty calls!â You give your best elegant bow and are rewarded with a genuine smile.
âYes, for both of us.â He watches, with a strange look in his eyes as you flicker out of his view like a wisp of smoke.
~~~~ âI was worried when Sebek started arguing and insisting that he join Malleusâs group⊠But honestly, Iâm glad he has a proper guard.â Jamil does seem significantly less stressed than he usually does, which in turn relaxes you.
âOf course, Malleusâs safety will always be my first priority!â Sebek is all smiles and pride as the conversation continues towards what direction to start your tour, you find your mind wanting to join in the conversation but finding yourself unable to really contribute. Grim is similarly distressed.
âI thought this was Group 1,â he wisely chooses to whine to you and not Trien, ânot Group BORING.â
âWeâve got to respect their wishes.â You say, wishing only slightly he wasnât wearing such a dapper hat. You miss scratching his ears. âBesides, historic spots make for great tourist destinations. You are worried you wonât get any food, right? I wonât let that happen.â
âMost of the places I know of arenât on tourist maps.â Trien corrects gently, but his small smile lets you know he does not mean to come off as reprimanding. âBut Yuu is correct, Grim, there will be plenty of places to feed you as we check on the other groups.â
âWell then what are we waitinâ around for! Letâs get cracking!â Grimâs little shout and face is so deathly serious you canât help but snap a brief picture on your phone, as you walk slowly between Riddle and Jamil.
âSo,â a relaxed Jamil might be a rare sight, but this teasing look is not âwhat did President Rollo want to talk to our little attendant about?â
âI was wondering that as well.â Riddle asks much more earnestly, which gets the squirming reaction from you Jamil had been trying to provoke. âHe wasnât being rude was he? An insult to one NRC student is a slight to our whole school.â
âOh Iâm sure he was very personal.â Laughs Jamil and you try to pass off your embarrassment with a cough.
âHe just wanted to know what group Grim and I were going with.â It has got to be enough of the truth to get Jamil to drop it, but as you turn yourself back towards Trien you are surprised to find him smirking.
âYes, Mr. Flamm was very concerned with knowing your whereabouts.â He has the decency to shoot Jamil a stern glance when he cackles, but the teasing point has still been made. You have been seen (for once, the tiny voice argues, when there is something to use against you.) Thankfully Malleus and Riddle still seem blissfully unaware of what is being implied, if anything Malleus seems deeply pleased at the mention of Rollo.
âIâm glad he was willing to invite us both.â It is hard to ignore the puff to his chest that comes with the word invitation, your tired inner voice retreats replaced with a genuine smile.
âMe too, Tsunotarou. Itâs nice to be able to take a vacation.â You should be concerned that Trien has led you into what appears to be a sewer alley, but the soothing melody of the river to your left drowns out all worries and Sebekâs misery at being the sole mage to have done zero research. Well maybe not the sole mage, just the only one without a collar.
âHey Yuu,â Grim whispers, âdid ya think at all about what Rollo said earlier?â
âAbout relaxing?â Please, donât let Grim get in on teasing you too. You donât want to live in a world where he is more socially conscious than Riddle.
âNo! Well kinda. I mean about what ya wanted to do.â Grim does occasionally have serious thoughts. âN-not that I really care or anythin, just yâknow.â Not that he ever outright admits to thinking them. This one has him so embarrassed he starts yelling at Sebek to give up on thinking before he can hear your answer, giving you time to actually think on one.
It is a relatively easy answer, the same you always have whenever you get the opportunity to leave campus. You want to look for a way home, but how exactly do you go about doing that? Maybe Rollo would know this water sort of reminds you of his eyes, tired, he looks so tired but when he was able to talk to you he seemed to relax and now you hate yourself even more than you had earlier. You force yourself to stand up at a normal pace and rejoin the conversation, as if the painful spike of emotion that a new crush brings isnât actively wrecking your heartbeat.
~~~~
Yuu. The name of the student attendant is Yuu, Rollo was already making amendments to the lines as soon as he confirmed that, but your conversation began to muddle his own corrections with unnecessary feeling. He doesnât understand it, the strange pull he is feeling towards you; Rollo assumed at first was fanned by his hatred of those awful mages, the inherent desire to soothe you all feels justified but no⊠he knows that feeling, or at least he thinks he does. He feels it every time he sees a magicless citizen of his city think about just how much better their life could be, but that emotion has grown dull, this desire burns him. Even now as he tries desperately with fragrant herbs and the gentle lull of the river the intoxicating glow of relief in their eyes blazes in his soul.
"Forget about school while you're here and enjoy a moment of respite in Fleur City."
It was generic, there was so much more he should have said. But what could he offer you? You're not a mage, you have every right to be wary of him. To refuse his help would be understandable.
âAnd I hope the rest of you will enjoy the social.â
The thought of the social finally succeeds in sobering him, he runs though his plans once more in his head as he sees the outline of one of those detestable NRC clowns looking over the various bakeries, clearly inept at choosing where to go. And once again those thoughts flicker briefly back to you, not that Rollo trusts mages to do anything other than pursue their own interests, but he had hoped somewhat foolishly when he had read the word âattendantâ that some care would be taken for your preferences and safety. But clearly he was mistaken, and how he loathes the thought of his plans being anything less than perfect. The handkerchief goes back into his pocket and his hand brushes up against a tiny bottle. Dreamerâs Rest such a mundane name for a poison. It is, no it was meant to be a precaution, but now, as he idly holds the crystal bottle up to the sunlight, a new thought takes shape in his mind. It is magic, something he despises and believes should not exist, but if he could convince you to drink itâŠÂ
Quickly he shoves the thought and the bottle back into his robes, forcing himself towards Ashengrottoâs group hoping the new temptations will disappear.
They do not, as amusing the thought of them purchasing souvenirs is.Â
âWhatâs so surprising about that?â The look on Azulâs face as he speaks does suggest offense, but that he has cause to be at all sharpens Rolloâs resolve. âThatâs generally what you do with gifts, yes. What do you two take me for?â Exactly what he wants them too, Rollo supposes seeing how quickly Deuce and Epel jump to praise him and completely miss Azulâs muttered expectation of compensation. The three continue to speak of utterly irrelevant topics.
âCertainly.â He folds his hands and takes the first opportunity to excuse himself. Azul is a merchant and these two are dumb as rocks, he has nothing to worry about here. âIâll take my leave then-â
âOh before you go!â Deuce has an infuriatingly cheerful smile on his face for someone who has just interrupted him. âI wanted to thank you. For including Yuu I mean.â Azul pushes his glasses up onto his face, curious, it would appear his reactions are being watched, but that this sentiment from Deuce is not unexpected. âI was really worried you Nobel Bell guys would see them as an inconvenience or a burden since itâs supposed to be a mageâs social and all and they arenât a mage, you have no idea how relieved I was you had costumes for them and Grim. I was really happy they got to come!â Â
âYeah!â Epelâs smile could be described as cute if he wasnât such a talented mage. âWeâre going to have so much fun at the social together, I canât wait.â
âOf course.â Rollo smiles in spite of himself, if he was less focused on making his exit he would have realized he had been since the first mention of Yuuâs name. âI will continue to ensure they⊠are allowed to relax while here.â How disappointing, Rollo thinks, that these mages see inclusion of their supposed friend to be a point in his favor. Itâs almost enough to make him laugh, but then he swears he sees your face before him, eyes agleam with wonder and suddenly words lose all meaning. The handkerchief comes out as he makes his way back to his tasks, the sooner they are done the more of an excuse he can make to see you again. âNow if you all will excuse me, I have to get back to checking on the other groups.â It wouldn't do to keep his flowers waiting after all.
Azul frowns deeply for just one moment. âAre you sure you should be thanking him?â His face returns to stoic calculation, but he still asks.
âWhy?â Deuce is so genuinely confused it really does make Azul hurt for Riddle.
â... no reason.â Yet anyway.â Â
~~~~
For a creature so gluttonous Grim sure does love to play with his food, it would be cute to watch him catch grapes in his mouth if you werenât walking through such a busy intersection looking for Azulâs group. âYou need to be more careful.â You fuss, taking advantage of Trienâs pause to check his maps to gently poke Grimâs nose. He sneezes.
âYa donât have ta worry so much,â he huffs as if he isnât pleased with the attention âthe Great Grim isnât able to choke.â Â
âHeh your friend doesnât seem to think so.â Rolloâs laugh is as smug as it is startling, you swear you jump halfway out of your skin. He moves to follow you, a noise of startled surprise sending pinpricks up your arms in delight.
âRollo! Sorry I didnât see you.â Great now he has to think youâre stupid, of course you didnât see him Yuu! He clearly just got here!  âIs everything ok? No one causing you any trouble?â You have to bite your tongue not to add from my school because who else would be doing that. Â
âNothingâs happened you need to worry over.â Rollo folds his hands, those water grey eyes ripple with emotion reminding you of your reflections at the riverside earlier. " I simply saw you and decided to come over and see how your tour was progressing so far.â
âItâs goin great!â Grim hugs his bunch of grapes close to his chest. âYuuâs been gettin me all sorts of yummy grub.â
â... it is heartwarming to see how caring Yuu is towards you.â His smile suggests genuine amusement, and your heart warms with pride. âBut I am curious, have you gotten to do everything you wanted to? Is there still something you wish to see?â Rollo says it so passively, as if it wasn't a natural question to ask. It is, you suppose, a natural question ifÂ
âIâm sorry?â Rolloâs eyes havenât once left yours, there is no mistaking he intended to speak directly to you and yetâŠÂ
âThis is an experience for you too, yes?â Rollo looks sad you think, but you try to remind your rapidly increasing heart rate that you have only just met so you have no idea if that is true. âI have some time before I am needed, if your Professor allows it-â
âOf course I will.â Trienâs voice causes you both to jump, free from whatever strange aura you constantly find in each otherâs presence. There is a strange glint in his eyes, almost nostalgic as he takes Grim from your arms and nods towards Rollo. âThere are a few places I can think of that might be of interest to Yuu specifically, but Iâm sure you will be much more up to date with whatâs practical.â You expect him to wait, to confirm just where it is Rollo wants to take you off to but no. If anything he practically skips away from you with pep that you swear should strain his back.
âIâm so sorry he just left like that.â You say quietly, and to your surprise Rollo laughs. The stern look that had been so fixed into your mind since this morning is kinder now, he actually looks like a young man now, the aura of nobility around him seeming to come more from some hidden self confidence you suppose all mages have tucked somewhere.
âThereâs no need, Iâm sure it would have been much more embarrassing if he stayed.â Rollo says it so matter of factly you almost believe him. âSo just what was it you wanted to see?â
âIs there a place where-â you eagerly start before flustering with the weight of trying to explain what exactly it is you are looking for. âWhyâ will be even harder, emotionally if nothing else. âIs there any place I could do some research I guess? Like on really obscure myths and history.â It was clearly not the question Rollo was expecting, but he does have an answer ready. Â
âThere is a book store I am fond of across from the main school building, assuming you donât mind walking back that way?â Â
âNot at all.â You remain trapped in your strange silence, though Rollo does not quite seem to mind. He easily begins to guide you back towards the school, the tension you had previously associated with him never once returning to his face.
âDo you enjoy reading about mythology?â He asks as soon as the crowd thins a little.
âYes.â Your answer is quieter than heâd like, as if you are questioning the sincerity of your own interests. âYou can tell a lot about what people value by looking at the stories they tell and besides⊠I just like stories.â Â
âWhat sort?â The question isnât sharp, so you silently curse yourself for jumping. âI apologize if I am coming off as needling you, that wasn't my intention. As the president of a magic schoolâs student council I seldom get a chance to speak with⊠the more sincere members of society. I am curious about your perspective, you could say I find it important.â
âWhy?â You donât mean to scoff, but Rollo doesnât seem phased. If anything he seems oddly pleased.
âDo you think yourself unimportant?â The stern look he gives is far less severe than what had been aimed at your classmates, but is still disarming. âI meant what I said before. I understand if you find it tiring to be around me as well, but I promise you need only to speak if I am exhausting you.â
âNo!â His pleased smile grows as you try desperately to center your thoughts. âYou havenât been exhausting me at all, I just- wasnât expecting the question.â Rolloâs contented laugh sears you right to your soul, so beautiful and strong and so clearly meant only for you to hear. You are spared further embarrassing thoughts as you finally reach your destination and he reaches for the shopâs door.
âAfter you, Yuu.â Bless the shop bell for ringing you back to reality, and the smell of old books finally luring you away from Rolloâs grasp.
~~~~
There is a peaceful, eager joy about your expression that Rollo tries desperately to write into his memory. This is how you should look all the time, unburdened by the weariness existing next to magic and mages that undoubtedly piles on you. His relief flickers slightly as he wonders, unpleasantly, just what it is you think of him and his faults. Is he truly responsible for your joy now? And if he is⊠just what does he need to do to keep it? He is suddenly heavily aware of the bottle in his pocket, and Grimâs words from earlier begin to suggest an ill formed plan that drives him to speak.
âHave you had anything to eat yet?â he whispers in spite of himself, but you do not seem displeased with his interruption.Â
âIdia bought me some grape juice, but other than that not really.â And yet you have been feeding your companion like some sort of saint. Â
âThereâs a small cafe attached to this storeâŠâ There is no going back if he says this, there are a million things that should be at the front of his mind but the only thing he can bring himself to worry over is what you will think of him once it is done. âWould you like something from it?â You pause scanning the book you are holding and reach towards your pocket, but he catches your hand as gently as he can before pulling back worried he has overstepped. âIâll pay for it, please donât worry yourself.âÂ
âI canât ask you to do that!â So you squeak but your stomach seems to disagree with the strange noise it makes.
âThen donât.â He cannot help but smile as he says it. Cute. He thinks that is the word he wants to use. You have his entire attention. âJust tell me what you would like.â He half expects you to continue denying yourself, but no. You murmur a bashful request, and he promises to meet you at the front of the store once he has gotten you something. He almost believes in his own good intentions until his hand touches the bottle in his pocket as he tries to think. This⊠impulse is not his fault. You will be in danger if he does not act, he needs to find a way to keep you safe from the downfall of those mages who surround you.
There is a selection of fruit and cheese that catches his eye, there is a small dish of honey meant to be paired with some apples. Dreamerâs Rest has no taste, just one bite from any of these would grant you the relaxation you deserved. This is a conscious decision he is making, if he commits there will be no way to take it back. He can beg you to see his reason, but would you listen? Itâs insidious how little visible effect magic leaves on something, nothing looks different or dangerous, the food he is holding just looks like food.
âHave you ever heard of someone traveling between worlds before?â Rollo should be concerned with how tuned in to your voice he is, how quickly he completes his task and takes himself, with noticeably lighter pockets, back to the front of the store and the tables set next to the front counter.
âAre you sure you donât mean continents?â The shopkeep seems confused, but Yuu seems strangely determined. Desperate even.
âNo, worlds. Like different realities or dimensions.â You try again. âMaybe something about liminal spaces?â That just makes them laugh.
âOh no, if youâre interested in those sorts of things youâll need to look at the science fiction section! Magical travel between different âworldsâ is so utterly preposterous, Iâm sure Monsieur Rollo will be able to explain to you why.â You look devastated, as if what has been said is a personal slight. He lacks the ability to describe just what it is he is feeling now, there is a wariness to how he looks over you he doesnât like. There is no reason to doubt your virtue, you have no magic. So why then,would you be so interested in what would undoubtedly be such a career defining feat for any mage, why act distraught as if you are so intimately acquainted with the subject? You cannot look at him as he gently guides you to the table, canât speak even. It is as if the dismissal has robbed you of your appetite.
âTechnically speaking if we had proof another reality existed,â he takes care to breathe in the comforting scents of his kerchief, watching you for any sign of motive âit would not be a matter of science fiction. As we lack that, however, most statistical models make such a thing out to be quite impossible. Teleportation magics such as the Dark Mirror at Night Raven possess are already quite rare and subject to stringent regulation, it stands to reason the ability to travel across reality would be much more rare.â
âI see.â You are quiet, yet unflinching under his scrutiny in a way that makes him want to scream. There is no reason for you to be so resigned to him, it should be the other way around. He should be afraid of your judgment, your wrath, not your rejection as you pick idly at the fruits. âYou must think Iâm very silly.â You whisper.
âI think you are not telling me something.â He whispers as well, trying to sound sincere and sympathetic. âThat your friends and teachers did not tell me something.â His body moves of its own accord, he stands and places his hands on your shoulders in what he hopes is a gentle manner; you look up to him with a strangely hopeful expression. It is as if you see him as some source of light, unaware of its hellish source. âMy judgment is fair, so please, unburden yourself while you are here.â While you can be safe in his arms.
âIf I said,â your voice quivers âif I said I did have proof of a different reality. One where magic didnât exist.â He inhales sharply, a new scent worming itself among his affirmations alongside the resurgence of the pain from when he first read those two accursed lines. âIf I was somehow taken from such a place, and wanted to find a way back, would you believe me?â
âYes.â There is disbelief in your eyes, but really how could he reach any other explanation for this grip you have on his soul? The reasoning, as implausible as other scholars would decry it, made a degree of sense. Why else would such a wretched institution like Night Raven allow for someone so pure to exist in their presence, to say nothing of being allowed to attend as a student? The best solution, no matter how improbable, is the simplest one, and what a beautiful solution this admission is.
âI donât know how I got here really, I just sort of showed up at orientation and the headmage hasnât done mu- I mean he hasnât really found any promising leads about how to send me back. That was his excuse for sending me to the social. He thought that since maybe your academy is also really old and has so many traditions that maybe one of you would know how to send me home.â Slowly, so slowly it almost burns, Rollo moves his right hand from your arm to fetch something from his pocket. The large ruby of his ring reflects the dull light of the lamps as he runs just the edge of his handkerchief under your eye, letting his thumb massage the tear towards it. The comforting blend of rosemary and lavender that invades your senses explains why he keeps it so close to his nose, but those are not the scents that soothe you. There is an undercurrent, brought by his sleeves and the way his eyes follow the curve of your cheek and stay unintentionally on your lips, of wood smoke and ink that canât come from anyone but him, who in their right mind would burn something in a bookstore?
âYou can speak poorly of him here.â There is an undercurrent of authority to his voice that should scare you. Rollo has always looked directly at you, that dark gray blue inviting you to bathe in his light has never once thought of you as the other.  Perhaps because he is too busy looking at your classmates like they are lesser, a thought that you should perhaps pay more mind. âNo one is going to carry what you say back to them, I promise. You poor thingâŠâ It is all you can do to not collapse into his arms and cry. It should be condescending, this way he is looking at you. âItâs cruel to keep you like this.â Who he is speaking to you donât know, there is an unspoken aura over you both, an aura of agreement that he could be as cruel as he likes. Idly, as if he does not fully understand what he is doing, Rollo removes his hand shakily, returning his handkerchief to his pocket, only breaking eye contact with you to eye the abandoned apple slices on the table next to you. âAre you still hungry?â He is asking you a question, but itâs not the one heâs voiced.
âYes.â You want him to kiss you, but that doesnât seem to be what he intends to do. Instead he dips one of the apple slices into the honey and carefully, purposefully lifts it up to your lips. Wordlessly, he places the slice on your tongue and continues to hold it as you bite down, watching as you chew and closing the gap as you swallow.
His kiss burns, searing you with question and confirmation that this strange attraction is as destructive as it is mutual. âI have to take you back now.â He breathes the words close to your lips as you breathe in the smoke of his robes, deeply trying desperately to center yourself.
Your walk back is as quick as it is silent.
~~~~
âAhh child of man! Good to have you back, come sit with us.â Mallues pats the seat beside him expectantly and you gladly settle, much to the chagrin of Sebek who immediately begins howling in protest. Grim makes similar noises when Azul suggests he sit in yours, but it has much less of an impact when he's voicing them from your lap already. You breathe deeply, looking around at the sights and sounds of what looks to be a carnival. Someone walks on a tightrope, there are acrobats tumbling around on the ground, and the whole thing really sparkles with wonder and excitement that feels like magic even before you see the sparks. It is something that should excite you, but for some reason the more you try to focus on the colors, the more you try to look around the more things begin to blur together. Perhaps itâs all the walking around you did today but you are beginning to feel extremely tired. Â
âAnd you are all content with such trivial feats of magic?â Malleus scoffs next to you and you frown deeply, this dance is already impressive. How could this be made better by making it louder? Maybe he is confused because it isnât like Briar Valley festivals.
âYou could totally upgrade those.â Snarks Idia. Never mind, maybe your friends were just dicks. At least you manage to get some revenge on Idia by making him dance a little with you, no matter how sluggish you feel. Though it admittedly feels less like revenge when Idia decides to be a responsible senior and guide you back to your seat. âAre you sure you should be standing up?â He doesnât even sound like he is asking the question because he wants an excuse to be anti-social, Idia looks genuinely worried.
âIâm ok, promise.â you try to grin and bear your way through it but a quick yell for your attention from Grim and the burst of magical fireworks that follow quickly re-directs what little energy you have left.
âGrim, using magic like that in a public place is a bad idea.â Your scolding is drowned out by other, louder scolds and a spiral into everyone setting off fireworks. The noise and lights pound your skull with painful overstimulation. Cautiously, Rollo moves closer to you, concern clear on his face. Â
âAre you alright?â He asks, moving to take your temperature and not finding anything wrong, the only heat you feel is running up your spine from a desperate desire for him to be closer. You swear you hear someone, Malleus you think, calling for you to join the festivities, but the strange tiredness working its way through your limbs has reached your ears and is beginning to dull the noise around you. Rollo does not move, he stares down at you intently watching as you dazedly try to stand. â... Magic is such a troublesome thing, wouldnât you agree Yuu? I can only imagine what you have been subjected to, between being stolen from your world and being surrounded by a gaggle of rambunctious foolhardy mages.â You want to laugh, tell him he doesnât know the half of it, but your tongue feels like lead in your mouth. âWorry not- this state of affairs shanât last much longer.â Something about his voice worms its way to the back of your skull, maybe itâs the dayâs exercise, maybe itâs the noise and lights overstimulating your brian, but you are finding it harder and harder to keep opening your eyes as you blink and try to focus on what Grim is telling you. He is tugging on your cape and jumping up and down, he has something he wants to say. He is proud of himself, he has that genuine non-smug happy smile Grim reserves only for you when he wants your praise, and you so desperately want to see what it is he wants to show you. But youâre tired, so very very tired. Itâs so much effort to keep your eyes open.  So you stop struggling, your eyes close and you feel yourself fall, and conveniently (too conveniently Azul notes pushing his glasses against his nose) Rollo is there to catch you. âYuu!â Grimâs voice finally breaks through the fog, itâs panicked and you feel some worry bubbling up in the sane part of your mind when you realize you canât move your hand to reassure him you are ok.
Arenât you tired? Donât you want to rest? Rest here in the City of Flowers?
âIs the noise bothering you?â Rollo asks quietly, so quietly you wonder if anyone else can hear him other than you. âWould you like to return to the school?â
âThat might be for the best.â Trienâs hand is cool against your forehead, his voice filled with concern. âWould you object to taking them back, Rollo?â You feel Rollo bend to reach under your knees and lift you so high you practically feel like you are flying. A smile flutters onto your face; his embrace is one of safety and relaxation, with a tender caress from his thumb along your thigh that reminds you of the kiss from earlier. Â
âThere's no need for that,â Azul tries to attract Idia's attention subtlety âone of us would be more than happy to-â
âThat's quite alright.â Rollo doesn't even bother looking at him as he settles you further into his arms, for a brief moment your eyes open and refocus up at your⊠captor you suppose. You know the sound of Azulâs worries, and though you havenât known Rollo for near as long you think (delusionally, the tired voice is regaining its reason. This is delusion, madness we are throwing ourselves onto a pyre-) you are beginning to recognize his. There is worry in his gaze, solely focused on you, from the moment you met him he has been considerate and focused on you in a way that should worry you. Trien does not seem to share your faith in Azul, you think based on the way Rollo begins to move away from the crowd towards the blissful quiet that he has decided to place his bet on the wrong mage, just as you are about to.
âI am going to trust you.â You whisper, so slowly you wonder if Rollo even knows what it is you are saying. If he does, he says nothing aloud, but his steps begin to pick up speed.
~~~~
Fire. There is a fire to your left you think, the wood crackles pleasantly and gives this strange dream a cozy feel. Your entire body feels heavy, you can barely open your eyes or move a finger, but you don't seem to be bound to this chair, you can't really seem to motivate yourself to move from it. Someone's head is resting on your lap, their hands are shaking.
âForgive me.â Rollo is whispering, but there is an excitement to his voice. You realize you have no idea how long you have been sleeping, or even where you are as your eyes open and try to adjust to the dimly lit room around you. The stonework reminds you of the bell tower from your tour of the school, but you donât remember seeing this room or the grand fireplace you flinch away from. âIâm just another mage causing problems for you at the end of the day, no matter how proud I am of my virtues.â Â
You manage to lift your head just enough to look down, Rolloâs head is indeed lying in your lap, his giant hat has been placed on the table just next to you, and though there is indeed triumph in his voice the expression on his face is painful. âNo matter how hard I try to better myself, I am still a mage. I am still filled with evil and I am still forced to use that evil to pass judgment. I couldnât even save you without resorting to it. I wonder just how much you would hate me if you knewâŠâ His eyes flutter open, gently, much too gently for someone you are slowly starting to realize likely drugged you and definitely kidnaped you, he kisses the top of your hand. âCan I ask you for your forgiveness? Do I even have the right?â Slowly, with effort such a simple action should not take, you move your hand to his head and carefully run your nails over his scalp. Rollo groans, eyes raising to meet your bleary ones.
âIf I can forgive you for thisâŠâ putting you to sleep, taking you away from your friends, Rollo did not strike you as someone who did this without there being another reason, Azul had earlier described him as naive and you are inclined to trust his judgment. âCan you accept it?â Rollo closes his eyes briefly, considering his options.
âIf I were to tell you there was a way for magic to no longer be an obstacleâŠâ He says it with such certainty you do not doubt him for a second âthat I could free this world of that sickness that elevates people undeserving and unnecessarily, would you forgive me for the pain it would cause?â
âDo you see yourself as sick, Rollo?â You move your hand just under his chin, gently directing his head back up to look at you. Rollo grasps your hand as you do, rising from the floor as he places it just above his frantically beating heart.
ïżœïżœïżœDonât you?â There is pain in his eyes. Pain and sorrow just like every friend you have seen overblot except without the touch of inky madness that precedes it. âOr am I just like your friends at that school?â
âYou arenât like them.â Itâs a lie of sorts, whatever Rollo has done, you strongly suspect, is no worse or better than anything the others have. But- âWhy do you care about me so much?â You ask, voice cracking under the strain of your confusion. Rollo tightens his grip on your hand, his heart is hammering against it as if it wants to burst out of his ribcage and intertwine itself with your hand. But it cannot, so it satisfies itself with Rollo dipping forward to kiss your lips. Softly once, gently twice he kisses, before all pretense is lost and he moves in tune with you to hold onto your cape desperately and kiss and kiss and kiss deeply before he needs to come up for air. He dares not move fully away, taking his breaths just above your lips and slowly continuing to kiss along your jaw and just below murmuring his words as prayers indescribable as he does. Â
âI donât know why.â Rollo groans in self hatred as you let out a tortured cry âEver since I saw you Iâve been unable to remove you from my thoughts, my mind burns with flaming desire to throw away my plans,â he bites, his teeth sink slowly as you grasp at his robes and gasp âto get to know you. What makes you happy, the things that make you laugh and what makes you cry. I want to know that I can create a place where someone as lovely and filled with light as you does not feel the need to be anything more than themselves. Where, when there is danger, you are protected.â This too, this mad man who proudly sucks just one more mark onto your skin, is your Rollo, your Rollo who is so clearly going through something he will not confess to you and lashing out at the world like every other mage you know and yetâŠand yet he is saying the things you want to hear. The things you have longed for any other person to say to you as he rests his forehead against yours, lips bruised by yours and yet still not defiled near enough. Â
âWhen magic causes problems, the fallout should not be yours to take.â And just like that, you donât care. Not nearly as much as you should, you should be hitting him not letting him admire his work as you fall back into a chair he didnât need to bind you to, and certainly not thinking of how much you wish he had. You should hold him to the same standard you had the others. âIâll come back for you.â It should frighten you, how quick he is to return to the stoic calm you had met him in as he promises you something awful. âThere are things I need to attend to at the top of the tower, but I swear I will come back to you.â You donât have to think hard about who those will be, Malleusâs angry shouts of betrayal at the (likely) false invitation arenât hard to imagine, hopefully he hasnât hurt anyone.
âStay safe.â You hoarsely whisper, and Rollo briefly pauses in his walk to the door. Whatever he is thinking you arenât left wondering long, quickly with a speed you didnât know he had he darts back to press a kiss to your forehead.
âYou too, Yuu.â He says your name with something like love once he returns to the door, his smile shines with it. Itâs not his fault that you want it to be, is it his fault that you doubt him? If it is not love Rollo feels then what is it? Just obsession or-
âAHA!â A familiar voice knocks you out of your thoughts and onto the floor. âFINALLY I FOUND YA!â
~~~~
âIt would seem I have made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgment.â Trienâs understatement should fall flat, but Deuce is too busy bouncing his leg to try and dispel his stress. âI was too focused on trying to make sure you all were not causing trouble, I neglected to consider outside influences.â There is no need to guess what he is referring to, there is a noticeable absence among the collected NRC students. âAre you sure you should be thanking him?â As if Azul can sense Deuceâs thoughts, he begins to voice his own.
âBe that as it may, I doubt Rollo means to actually harm Yuu. Almost everything he has said to this point about magicless people seems to suggest he thinks they need to be coddled, not punished.â
âIndeed.â Jamil nods, eyes closed as if he is thinking really hard about something. âBut his personal feelings towards Yuu is what makes this concerning, thatâs what you are thinking I assume Azul?â Â
âLike I said,â Azul tries to ignore the cold sweat gathering at the back of his neck, âI doubt he means to harm them, but that doesn't mean his actions wonât have unintended consequences. Which is why we need to wrap this up as quickly as possible.â
âThe rest of you do that.â Deuce is surprised by how calm he feels, his best friend is in danger, he should be furious. But all he feels is an unfamiliar determined calm. âIâll go look for Yuu.â
âLOLOL what makes you think you need to do that?â Idia's laughter does spark a bit of a snarl from him, but Idia doesn't back down. âIf Rolloâs following the classic BBGE playbook, Yuuâs got to be in the Bell Tower yeah? No need to split off into search parties, the princess is always in the final castle.â
âSo there you have it.â Malleus has been disturbingly quiet ever since Epel pointed out how he destroyed the fire lotuses. His green eyes haven't once moved from their scorched roots, as if he is attempting to sear his anger into the stones below. âI will crush Rollo Flamm under my heel and bring Yuu back to all of us as whole the day they were taken.â
âDude it has literally been like an hour.â Idia shakes his head, but Deuce can't help but agree with Malleus.Â
âHold on Yuu, I promise we'll find you.â
~~~~
âNyhahahaha! Take that!â Grim swats the air as if he's cutting through imaginary ropes. âAll those other losers screaminâ and whining as soon as those flowers started poppin up but not the Great Grim! I jumped all the way up to where that Rollo guy was hangin out and followed him right here to you!â The story Grim tells you confirms your worst fears, but soothes some of the lesser ones. You have no doubt that if anyone can solve the threat of the crimson lotusâs itâs Idia, Azul, and Malleus. As soon as they were done measuring dicks anyway, for now you only have one real thing on your mind; desperately scrambling forward on the floor to scoop Grim up in your arms and hold him tight. He's trembling, and your heart begins to beat painfully in your chest as Grim starts to sob. âI was so worried about you.â
âI'm ok Grim.â You mean it this time, whatever Rollo fed you has well worked its way through your system and left you with the energy to whip away your beloved monsterâs tears. âA bit sleepy but ok.â
âOf course you're OK the Great Grim's here.â You contine wipe his nose through his sniffles. âAnd now heâs gonna get you out of the tower! Just like a real hero!â But his bravado has a slight stutter, and yours is fighting a war with your heart. Your eyes close as you think of Rollo, at the top of the bell tower fighting to defend his delusions from people who would understand only half of what his problems were. Â
âI wish I had met him sooner.â It wouldnât have stopped this, but you wonder not for the first or last time what would have happened if the poor mage had just had someone to talk to.
âYou donât wanna go do ya.â Grim frowns, eyes and ears drooping before he remembers he is supposed to be in charge.  âWell then we can stay. Why should we go back to the other guys! Yeah! Screw âem! Always makinâ us do the hard work while they go and have fun.â
âNo itâs ok Grim.â You stand, making sure to still hold onto him as you stand, carefully at first to make sure you are ok to put weight on your legs. âIf we stay here you will never get to be the worldâs greatest mage.â
âYeahâŠâ Grim does not perk up when you say that, itâs almost enough to make you break out into a sprint in case he has lost too much of his magic already. âYa know⊠henchuman, I donât wanna go out there alone. Sâ not fun without you. I donât wanna be the greatest mage if I have ta not have you.â Â
â...Iâm not going anywhere Grim.â You touch your head to his, like a mother cat trying to comfort her kit. Itâs an empty promise you suppose, with how desperate you are to go home. But if what Rollo had said about teleportation magic was true⊠then maybe you would just have to pick a place to make a new home instead. Â
The rest of the night is a blur. Somehow you manage to make it down the tower stairs to Deuce, who nearly has a panic attack when he sees you, and Rook who starts composing a poem in ode to Grimâs bravery that gives him a unneeded ego boost. They do a much better job of explaining what had happened than Grim had.
About the lotuses. About the pandemonium in the town, about what Azul and Idia had convinced Malleus to do.
âPlease donât ever get kidnapped again. Malleus got really scary.â The look on Deuceâs face suggests you will need to give Tsunotarou a lecture later. A long, long lecture that you suppose you can make somewhat shorter for how glad you are to hear the Bell of Solace ring out.  And for insisting on Rollo still hold the ball. Getting to see Silver and Sebek try to toss Ruggie, Jamil, and Idia in the air completely makes getting kidnapped worth it. ButâŠYour friends have not exactly left you alone since the threat ended. You know why of course, if one of them had been kidnapped you probably would be doing the same thing, but itâs keeping you from some closure. For someone who promised to come back for you, Rollo sure seems determined to stay away. Itâs making your expression crumple in sadness behind your mask, something you wonder if he notices at all.
~~~~
âI am so grateful to you for providing me with so many memories.â Malleus holds tightly onto Rolloâs arm as the music flows across the ballroom, piercing gaze strategically keeping him away from the moonlit balcony you have decided to sequester yourself too. âBut I must say there is one matter I think we have neglected to discuss.â
âAnd what could that possibly be?â Rollo snaps, the audacity of these Night Raven fools hurts, all he wishes to do is lick his wounds in peace.
âWhy, the matter of your unfortunate attachment to my dearest friend.â Mallues grins, something like fear is finally flickering behind Rolloâs eyes. How unfortunate. âThe child of man is precious to me, Flamm. And more importantly they do not share your views on magic.â
âHave you asked them?â Rollo replies tersely. Â
âWhy would we need to do that?â Azulâs voice smoothly interrupts the private dance, he and Idia move to Rolloâs either side, they certainly look concerned. Angry even. If there were not mages Rollo would be pleased you had such dedicated friends.
âBecause itâs clear from how little you paid attention to their safety this entire trip that you expect them to constantly come away from your magic abuses unscathed.â He snaps. âTell me, if I hadnât placed them in the tower, what would have happened to them? Would you have been considerate of their weaknesses? Yuu is not invincible, and I am ashamed that I of all people seem to be the only one concerned about their safety.â
âNo I donât think you are.â Azul says. âNot in the way you think, anyway. Yuu is extremely capable, we donât treat them differently from any other student because we hate them, thatâs just silly. Your entire perception of them is based on a terribly prejudiced first impression, and not one nearly as positive as you seem to think.â
âYou can just say he has a creepy purity fetish and go.â Mutters Idia.
âAnd completely destroy my credibility?â Azul has more to say, but it's cut off before he can make his point.
âI agree with Shroud.â Mallues says, causing both Rollo and Azul to choke. âHis treatment of Yuu is very much in line with cult-like devotion towards a magical artifact. Extremely ironic given his mission statement, wouldnât you agree, Ashengrotto?â Â
âOh of course!â Azul laughs, making sure to step forcefully on Idiaâs foot before he can go correcting anyone. âBut perhaps back to my point-â
âYou don't have one.â Mutters Rollo, already bored with the conversation and desperate to find you again, just one more time before this entire failed event is over and he has to return to his plans.
âYuu is a hard worker, and stubborn too. They do not need magic to be just as capable of what they do as any mage.â Azulâs words make him pause, he searches desperately for any sign of deception in them, but there isnât any there.
âYou do realize,â he tries slowly, âthat none of those qualities make them able to defend themselves from offensive magic, which your Professor at least seems to think you quite willing to use.â
âI mean yeah.â Says Idia. âBut like, thatâs not what heâs trying to say. If you only choose a route because it has tropes you like then you arenât really loyal to that character. If the only reason you donât want to hurt Yuu is because they havenât got magic then you are just as bad as any of us. And trust me, theyâre scary smart. Theyâll know.â And with that cryptic message, Rollo finally finds himself alone with his thoughts.
Two lines. The first time he saw you the only thing he knew about you was two lines on a sheet of paper that said literally nothing. And the longer he stares at you, the more he feels like he is drowning under the weight of how little he still knows.
Yuu is a magicless human from a world without magic. They like to read about myths and legends from different cultures. They like their cat monster friend and treat him like a sibling. There, thatâs three lines.
Unbidden, his body begins to move towards the balcony where you are standing. Â
What is Yuuâs favorite color, do they like croissants? Are they allergic to any types of pollen, what is their world like? Do they have siblings, a family that they miss?
He wants to kiss you again, but properly this time. Not in the throws of a shared delusion, still maybe in the bell tower, but with your full acceptance.
âMay I have your hand?â Rollo feels more sick at the way your eyes light up than anything Malleus had said about guilt and absolution.
âOf course.â He does not take you out to the center of the dance floor, he does not flaunt you as a trophy won at your friends expense. He simply winds his arms around you to hold you scandalously close. âRollo, do you mind if I ask you some questions? About some things that Idia told meâŠâ
âWill you give me your number?â He thinks there is a different way he is supposed to ask a question like that, a nicer one. âThere are a lot of things I want to talk to you about, but tonight I think I want to savor what it feels like to hold you for as long as I can⊠as long as you are alright with that.â You do not say anything in response, instead you lay your head against his chest, ear firm on his heartbeat as you close your weary eyes. âI meant what I said before. I want you to think of Fleur City as a place where you can find respite. Solace.â
âMaybe you should invite me to come back then.â You say and he closes his own eyes to picture it. He has other places he can take you, better bookstores, more historic places. Maybe there is a key to sending you home somewhere in his city and if not-
âCareful, I just might ask you to stay forever.â There is an unspoken aura over you both. Gentle, new, and warm in a way that Rollo certainly never thought he would be allowed to experience. An aura of agreement that in time, that might not be such a bad thing to ask after all.
17. "i missed you"
â ËïœĄâàšâĄà§â ËïœĄâ
the air that surrounded you and jungwon felt tense, you hated it. if there was one thing you always enjoyed, it was your positive relationship with your roommate, but the two of you seemed to throw that down the drain a month ago when you found yourself laying under him in his bed. nails raking down his back as he fucked your senses away.
both of you tried your hardest to avoid bumping into the other, both too afraid to have the conversation or even acknowledge what happened that night. at first jungwon was hurt when he realised you were avoiding him, but he soon realised it was for the best and found himself doing the same back to you.
it was inevitable that your avoidance would be forced to end at some point, it was impossible to avoid someone you lived with for that long. most of your encounters had one of you coughing and looking away whilst the other quickly done whatever it was they needed to do before leaving the room.
the tension between the two of you didn't go unnoticed by friends who visited, you often found yourself being questioned by your friends to why it felt so tense when jungwon entered the room you were in, you'd play it off, trying to convince them they're making things up but you knew the truth.
yet, avoidance or not, you both found yourselves stealing glances at one another when you thought the other wasn't looking. even if you werenât looking, you could still feel his eyes on you, every second that he was in your vicinity you found yourself craving the feeling of his eyes on you. the way jungwon looked at you made your skin crawl, goosebumps trailing from your wrist to your shoulder. you wanted nothing more than for him to touch you again, take you the same way he did that night, but you worried things were too far gone between the two of you now.Â
so as you sat beside him on a friday evening, you tried to suppress your thoughts. usually the two of you would try and have a movie night on friday nights, just something small to relax after a hectic week, having food laid out and whatever movie you could find on netflix playing on the tv. the last time the two of you had a movie night was a month ago, consequently it was the same night the two of you ended up in bed together. it didnât help to quiet down the thoughts that were in your head as you remembered the way his fingers trailed along your skin on the very couch you were sat on, how his lips gently pressed against your neck as he told you how bad he wanted to fuck you.
you couldnât help but wonder if he still wanted to, if his true motives for asking you to join him for a movie night was so he could fuck you again. truth be told, you wouldnât be against it, in fact youâd be all for it. you wanted him, bad. you knew you werenât going to focus on whatever film he decided to pick, so you let your eyes wander over to jungwon, only to find him already looking at you.
âyou okay?â he let his head lean to the left a little as he asked.
âiâm okayâ
âyou sure? you seem distractedâ you gave him a small smile, this was the most engaging conversation the two of you had had in weeks.
âjust thinkingâ
âwhat about?â
âdoes it matter?â he narrowed his eyes at your question, an almost small, playful smile tugging at his lips.
âyesâ he moved closer to you, thigh pressing against yours âtalk to meâ you sighed and looked down at where his sweats touched your skin, maybe wearing shorts wasnât your best idea.
âitâs nothing importantâ
âwill you tell me if i guess?â you watched him carefully as he spoke, only lightly nodding your head at his question âyouâre thinking about what happened last time we ended up like thisâ jungwon leaned closer to you, lips barely touching the skin of your neck âbecause i amâ
you almost folded right away, almost leant completely into his touch and let him have his way with you all over again. almost. you were going to let him have you, but you didnât want to make it that easy for him.
âavoided me for a month just to try and fuck me again?â he laughed against your neck, lips parting as he pressed open mouthed kisses to your skin.
âyou avoided me, i was just giving you spaceâ you let out a shaky breath, finding yourself sinking backwards in the sofa as he nipped at your skin âiâve spent the past month thinking about how pretty you sounded under me, i needed to be close to you againâ youâd never heard jungwon sound so desperate for something before, the last few words he spoke came out as a whine almost. there was no way you were going to be able to keep your guard up.Â
âjungwonâ your voice was quiet, your fingers found themself in his hair.
âshhâ he paused for a second, fingers finding place on the skin of your thigh below your shorts âyou donât know how bad i just want to press you down and fuck you every time you say my nameâ you were speechless at his words, his teeth dug a little deeper into your neck, you knew thereâd be a bruise there tomorrow.
âso do itâ it was all he needed, you caved quicker than you wanted to but you couldnât help it, nothing felt better than the way he lifted his head from your neck and kissed you. the kiss was full of tongue, saliva and desperation. he pushed you further down against the sofa, your head resting against the arm of it.Â
the kiss didnât break as his fingers trailed along the skin of your thighs, he groaned once he settled himself between your legs, cock hanging lose in his sweats, pressing against your covered cunt. he ground himself down against you, hands finding place on your hips as your legs wrapped around his waist. both of you found yourselves wanting to be as close as possible to the other, any space was too much space. if you could crawl into his skin and live in there, at this point you would. his fingers snuck under the fabric of your shirt, digging into your skin as he ground himself down against you. he broke the kiss, letting his lips pretty open mouthed kisses along your skin, his mouth felt hot against you.
âneed youâ he panted just below your ear, there was a slight whiny tone to his voice as he spoke âneed you so bad. been too longâÂ
âtake me wonnie, pleaseâ he groaned, nails pressing into your skin. neither of you had the patience to get undressed, instead he found himself shoving down his sweats until his cock was out, fingers pushing aside the material of your shorts so he could press himself against you.Â
jungwon felt painfully hard, heâd spent the first twenty minutes of the movie working himself up, thinking about you. there had been countless nights in the past few weeks where jungwon found himself wide awake late at night, laying in his bed with his hand closed around his cock, pumping it as he desperately tried to mimic the way your warm cunt felt around him. nothing compared to how you felt, nothing compared to you. you brought jungwon a feeling he had never felt with anyone else and he wanted more.
and now he was finally getting more. he felt his head spin when he pressed the tip of his cock against your clit, dragging it down to your sopping hole. you were so inviting, it felt almost as if you were sucking him inside of you. the head of his cock broke into you, pushing into your warmth slowly. jungwon paced himself, fearing that if he moved too quickly heâd spill himself inside of you right away. he didnât want that, he wanted to savour the feeling of you, wanted to keep you wrapped around him for as long as possible, not being sure when heâd finally get you to himself again.
jungwon moaned when he pressed the rest of himself inside of you, cock twitching as your walls tightened around him. he lifted his head from your neck to look at you, eyes shaking as he watched the way your lips parted and you whimpered at the intrusion of his cock. your arm wrapped around his shoulder, gripping his shirt as your other hand went to his hair.Â
âgodâ he groaned as you pulled on his hair âi missed youâ at his words, you pulled him down to kiss you, moving your own hips up in order to get him to move. you couldnât stand him being inside of you without fucking you into the sofa beneath you, too desperate to feel him come undone inside of you again.
âwonnieâ your voice broke against his lips, tone filled with a whined as he rolled his hips against yours, cock leaving you just to enter you again. he filled you up so well, thick cock stretching you out, leaving you aching to feel him fill you up all over again each time he pulled out.
you tried to keep the kiss going but it felt impossible, as his pace increased, so did the frequency of your moans. it wasnât long before jungwon found himself burying his head in your neck, whining against the flesh as he fucked you. each time he withdrew his cock from you and pushed it back it he felt the lace of your panties drag against the side of his cock, it only made things more intense for him. jungwon was absolutely not going to last, especially not when he heard you say his name.
âjungwonâ his name left you in a whine âfill me up, pleaseâ it was all he really needed to hear. jungwon found himself kneeling up between your legs, holding your thighs apart as he fucked you harder. hair falling over his eyes and bottom lip tucked between his teeth as he let his eyes focus on the way your cunt swallowed his cock. you left him glistening in your slick with each thrust, a gentle but filthy sound came from where the two of you were connecting. he wanted to fill you with him cum so bad, claim you as he fucked you.Â
he dropped one hand to your clit, thumb pressing against the drenched, swollen bud as he fucked you closer to your orgasm. he didnât want to finish first but he knew he was going to. with that way you were clamping around his cock and moaning so sweetly for him, he knew he was done for. he was too drained to hold it back, he needed you to feel what you done to him, needed you to feel his cum spill deep inside of you.
jungwon let out one of the prettiest moans you had ever heard when he came, hips still moving against yours, thumb still rubbing careless circles against your clit as he tried to drive you towards your own orgasm. your name fell from him as he released inside of you, the overstimulation only causing him to whine after.
âcum around my cockâ he let his eyes flick to your face. your eyes were closed, lips swollen and parted, he was sure you had never looked so pretty âcome on babyâ you let out a noise that fell somewhere between the line of a moan and a whine as you felt your orgasm hit you, body shaking as you gripped the seat of the sofa under you, probably leaving deep scratch marks behind.
âjungwon, jungw-oh my godâ was all that left you, your voice breaking as he fucked you through your orgasm, hips finally stilling once he was sure you were finished. your eyes struggled to adjust to the light in the room when you opened them, yet you still found jungwon looking down at you, cock still resting inside of you. he leaned over you, hands pressing against the sofa either side of your head before leaning down to kiss you softly.
âyouâre not going to avoid me this time, right?â you shook your head âgood, we should do this more oftenâ.
The First Crush
RK800 Connor X F!Reader
He was an android! He wasnât supposed to be stuttering like some nervous school boy seeing his crush for the first time. And yet, here he was making a fool of himself.
A/N: ahhh! this is my very first DBH fic! feedback is always highly appreciated!
Connor had been infatuated with you from the moment heâd stepped into the precinct that first morning. Sure, he hadnât been a deviant yet at that time but there was something about you that drew him in. Whether it was the little knick knacks that you had sitting around your desk, or the photo of your two cats you proudly displayed. The first time heâd ever talked to you was what anyone would call a disaster. Heâd nearly spilled the coffee heâd gotten for Hank all over your desk, nearly tripping over his feet as he stuttered over his words.
He was an android! He wasnât supposed to be stuttering like some nervous school boy seeing his crush for the first time. And yet, here he was making a fool of himself. Hank had swooped in to save him from further embarrassment, making sure you were distracted while Connor cooled down.
You introduced yourself to him later on that day in the breakroom, ignoring Gavinâs snide remarks as you tried to make conversation with Connor. It was nice to be seen as something other than an android. Amanda had been surprised to learn about you, how Connor had made a friend so soon after arriving. Her tone left no room for argument on how Connor was supposed to approach his friendship with you, and why would he think any differently? Hank was his partner first and foremost, so he had to work on building that relationship.
CyberLife didnât want him becoming distracted from his goals, lest they take him down into the sublevels and decommission him. That would put a real damper in him figuring out the whole deviancy cases that were beginning to line up. After the first case it became harder to figure out why they all seemed to deviate. From androids killing their owners, to androids being in love with one another.
Hank had questioned him as to why he hadnât shot the deviant from the Eden Club, but Connor couldnât give him a proper answer. He wasnât even sure himself as to why he hadnât shot her when he had a perfect shot. Instead he let her partner, lover?, kick the gun out of his hand before running off together. Amanda had been furious when Connor tried to deflect, lying to the older woman as if she couldnât predict his very thoughts.
She did live inside his head after all.
Then there was Markus. Their first meeting hadnât exactly gone the way Connor had hoped it would. Heâd borrowed some clothes from Hank, promising that he wasnât doing anything too dangerous and that he'd be back before the end of the night. (That dear reader had been a complete and total lie the moment the FBI had raided Jericho). Connor had been unable to forgive himself for a while after that, even once the androids were given their rights. Markus had assured him that things between them were fine, Connor had become a deviant and helped them all in the end.
Connor hadnât properly forgiven himself for months after the incident, choosing to throw himself into his work and avoid everything else that surrounded him. Sure, he didnât need sleep or food the way a normal human would so he could spend longer looking over case files, but something irked at him. You always seemed to check up on him, offering to drive him to Hankâs so he could get away from the precinct. It was nice.
Heâd taken up your offer a handful of times, offering money to pay for gas since you lived on the complete opposite side as Hank. You always refused though, promising him that you didnât mind driving Connor home. Hank wasnât too put out by the idea either, glad to know Connor was making other friends besides himself. Heâd always be his partner, but sometimes Hank liked to just sit and be by himself for a few hours at a time.
It took Connor longer than heâd realized to come to the conclusion that he had a crush on you, that his feelings ran deeper than just a simple friendship. It was downright terrifying for the android to try and wrap his head around. You were his friend, and now he was thinking about things like taking you out onto a date!Â
âHank! I need some advice.â Connor stormed into the quaint house, tossing aside his coat as it landed on the kitchen chair.
Hankâs hand hovered mid-air, fork full of rice from his favorite Chinese place downtown steaming as he stared over at Connor. When he didnât make another move to try and start talking again Hank quickly shoved the bite into his mouth, chewing slowly. Once heâd swallowed the rice without any hazards, Hank set down the container and his fork, turning to face Connor.
âAlright, what type of advice do you need?â Hank was doing his best to hide his surprise, the fact that Connor, essentially a walking computer, needed advice? This was something big.
âI want to impress someone, someone that I really like.â Connor reached up to loosen the tie around his neck, fingers hooking in the soft silk material and pulling back and forth as it slowly slid down.
âWell, what do you know about this person?â Hank almost felt like a proud father, watching someone heâd grown close to have their first real crush.
Connorâs eyes lit up as he began to talk about you, leaving out your name more for his own sake rather than yours. He talked about how you loved cats, it didn't matter what they looked like, you just loved cats. Or how your favorite movie was some campy movie based off of a videogame that came out in the 90âs. How no matter what, you always brought in some kind of dessert for someone on their birthday.
âOkay, thatâs some good information to start with.â Hank pondered over the information Connor had given him, thinking back to what he wouldâve done.
Connor laid his tie overtop of his jacket across the chair, unbuttoning the buttons on his sleeves to roll them up onto his arms. The dishes needed to be done, and right now he needed to get some good advice from Hank lest he lose his mind thinking about you.
âYou could always start small, get her some flowers for her home, or something that she might appreciate.â Hank hadnât dated, or been with anyone in quite a long time, so he was a little rusty.
Connor was elbow deep in soapy water, locking away the little information Hank had given him so he could figure out exactly what to do. Surely this would be too hard, right?
â§Ë °. Ęâ âč . ĘË . Ęâ§âË âŸ. Ęâ âč . ĘË . ĘË°â§
Connor couldnât help but feel nervous as he walked inside the precinct, the small bundle of flowers held loosely in his right hand. His eyes scanned over each desk before finally landing on yours as he made his way over.
âY/N?â Connor leaned over to try and get your attention, hoping he didnât startle you as heâd done multiple times before.
âOh! Hi Connor, whoâre those for?â You gestured to the flowers in his hands, taking in the different colored roses.
His brow pinched for a moment before a realization seemed to hit him as his back straightened suddenly.
âTheyâre for you, I wanted to find something that wouldnât be bad for your cats.â He held the flowers out closer to you, a nervous smile on his face.
Your eyes brightened as you smiled widely, carefully taking the flowers from his hands as you brought them up to your nose.
âI hope I made a good decision, the florist said these wouldnât be overpowering, and also safe for your cats.â Connor subtly scolded himself for repeating something heâd already said.
âConnor, these are gorg-ACHOO!â You carefully set down the flowers as you hastily grabbed a tissue to try and plug your nose.
Connor felt himself begin to panic, had he done something wrong? Did he get the wrong type of flowers?
âIâm sore-achoo! I promise the flowers are lovely, I just, achoo! Iâm kind of allergic to pollen.â Your nose began to stuff up from the fragrant roses, your eyes watering slightly as you reached into your drawer for your allergy medicine.
That was the very thing that Connor had forgotten to take into consideration, heâd known all about allergies. Hank had a deadly allergy to bees, meaning he couldnât have anything with honey or beeswax. Heâd nearly made the mistake of gifting him something that had honey in it, but was reminded just before heâd purchased it. Nothing worse than accidentally killing your lieutenant.
Well, maybe making a fool of yourself in front of someone youâd become infatuated with was pretty high up on that list right now.
âIâm so sorry, Y/N, I forget that pollen is one of the most common allergies. Would you like me to take the flowers?â Connor wouldnât be affected by them, at least not in the way you were at the moment.
âNo! Really, Connor, it's fine. I just need to take some medicine and Iâll be right as rain.â You smiled up at him, he could sense the faint swelling of your nose from the pollen.
âIf youâre sure.â He was unsure of what to even say, second guessing himself at that moment.
You reassured him once more, taking two of the tablets with a long sip of the water you always brought in to work.
Heâd just have to do better next time.
â§Ë °. Ęâ âč . ĘË . Ęâ§âË âŸ. Ęâ âč . ĘË . ĘË°â§
Connor had been lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling of Hankâs living room as Sumo laid down on the floor beside him. The couch was newer, more for Hankâs sake rather than his own, Connor didnât need comforts in life the way a human would. Sumo had been ecstatic to see the new couch, claiming the long chaise lounge for himself once it was set down. Hank had fallen asleep on it many times, the television playing quietly in the background before Connor got home. It feltâŠnormal.
âWhatâs got you so pensive?â Hank was making dinner for himself, Sumo having already been fed for the night.
âI screwed up by getting her the flowers, how could I make it up to her so that she doesnât have an allergic reaction?â Connor had done some research to find any other important allergies, the main one was pollen which heâd already known.
âWell, do you know things that she likes? And I mean actually likes, not some wild guess from analyzing her.â Hank plated the steak, turning to face Connor before taking a seat at his kitchen table.
âShe really likes cats, has an infatuation with black cats.â His mind raced with a million and one thoughts as he tried to decipher what exactly he could get you.
Hank hummed lowly, cutting into the meat before popping a piece into his mouth and chewing slowly. His brow pinched as he thought back to what heâd get his ex wife as a way to impress her when they were first dating.
âWhy donât you take her to lunch? Nothing super fancy so she doesnât feel pressured. Donât they have restaurants that androids can eat at now?â Hank knew there were plenty of places both you and Connor could eat at, he just didnât want to seem soft.
Connor thought about it for a moment, cataloging all the restaurants in the area that served food that the both of you could eat. The closest, and most casual one, was just a few miles away from the precinct. Maybe he could take you there on Monday as both an apology for the roses, and a way to get to know you better.
Surely this wouldnât go wrong.
â§Ë °. Ęâ âč . ĘË . Ęâ§âË âŸ. Ęâ âč . ĘË . ĘË°â§
His nerves were shot, there was no other way to possibly even begin to explain why he was freaking out over something so normal.Â
Youâd agreed to go to lunch with him, even offering to cover your meal even though Connor downright refused and told you he would cover it. He didnât need to really eat often, so when he did he liked to enjoy the atmosphere of wherever heâd decided to eat. Of course he would usually sit in one of the corner booths by himself where he could go over casefiles while eating.
Today was a completely different experience entirely. Besides enjoying a delicious meal with you, Connor had also seen you truly open up. You werenât afraid to laugh at his dry humor, something heâd learned from Hank more so than anywhere else. The conversation never seemed too dull, the two of you talking the entire time until you had to get back to work.
The moment you stepped outside, ready to make the short-ish walk back to the precinct, it began to downpour. Connor cursed under his breath, quickly pulling off his coat to try and use it as an umbrella for you. You gripped onto the soft material, holding it tight as you both began to try and sprint to the precinct.
Thunder clapped loudly in the sky, the sound vibrating through both of your chests as you finally made it back. As you handed Connor back his jacket he couldnât help but frown. His jacket hadnât done any good to keep you dry, your clothes were absolutely drenched. Heâd known he wouldnât fare well during the run, but he hoped to at least keep you a little bit dry.
âShit, let me see if theyâve got some dry clothes for you to wear.â Before you could even utter a word Connor had run inside, heading into the back to find the old stock supply of hoodies and sweatpants.
Debating for a moment he grabbed clothes for the both of you, bringing them back out to where youâd been standing at your desk. You mustâve come inside after he left you outside of the precinct. Jeez, he was failing miserably at this whole thing, trying to impress you by doing things that seemed cute together.
âHere, Iâm sure thereâs towels in the shower that we can use to dry off with.â Connor handed over the clothes, a guilty expression pulling at his face.
You smiled softly at him, thanking him for the clothes before making your way down to the locker rooms. Connor did the same with his own clothes, stripping down completely, except his boxers, and drying off as best he could before pulling on the new clothes. They were big enough that no part of his body was hanging out, but they definitely screamed, âI fucked up and have to wear this as punishmentâ. Connor wouldnât blame you if you decided to never speak to him again, he couldnât handle another bad thing happening due to his negligence.
âWell, well, what happened to you two lovebirds?â Gavinâs smirk was anything but friendly, his lip pulled up into a harsh sneer.
âJust ended up getting caught in the rain, didnât want Y/N to get sick so I found some dry clothes for her to change into.â Connor knew better than to engage in any kind of conversation with Gavin.
The man was barely tolerable, he was sure that if he hadnât been an android Gavin wouldâve found an entirely different reason to hate him. Heâd seen the way Gavin had tried, and failed, to convince you to go on a date with him so many times before. Connor had been afraid you wouldnât even accept him since he was an android, but you were the first friend, besides Hank, that he had. You always stood up for him, even if sometimes heâd gotten himself into the mess he was in. Nine times out of ten they were caused by Gavin being an absolute dick, today was going to be no different.
âOh? So youâll go out with this piece of junk, but not a real man? What, youâve got a fetish for that android di-.â Gavin was cut off as Connor turned suddenly, his knuckles colliding with the skin of his jaw.
Gavin hit the ground hard, a loud yelp echoing inside the room as Connorâs hands clenched into tight fists. Chris and one of the other officers ran over to check on Gavin, probably to make sure Connor hadnât broken anything on him. He hadnât, Gavin would just have a nice bruise to set a reminder as to why he should finally leave you and Connor alone.
âConnor!â Hankâs voice boomed louder than the rest of the chatter, his body locking up as he slowly looked over to where Hank was standing.
You were standing behind the lieutenant, eyes wide as you glanced between where Gavin was sitting on the floor over to where Connor stood. A slow smile pulled up your lips, eyes twinkling as you quickly made your way over to your desk.
âSorry, should I fill out a harassment form?â Connor didnât feel the least bit sorry for hitting Gavin, but he also didnât want to lose his job.
âJust, donât do it again, okay?â Hank stared back at him until he nodded, nodding once before sitting down at his own desk.
Connor quickly followed suit, ignoring Gavin who was downright seething at being not only punched by an android, but someone who wouldnât get into any trouble. Anyone with two brain cells could see how annoying Gavin was, so who better to hit him than Connor? It was a win-win situation if he did think so himself.
âThank you, Connor.â Connorâs head snapped over to where you sat, brow furrowed as his lips parted.
You looked as if you hadnât just spoken to him, your hands typing away at your keyboard as your eyes followed each word to make sure you didnât make any mistakes.
âYouâre welcome, Y/N.â Connor kept his voice low, he knew youâd hear him, but he didnât want to make Hank feel uncomfortable.
Even though their afternoon had been ruined from the rain, it helped knowing that Connor could make Hank and Y/N smile at the expense of finally getting to hit Gavin.
â§Ë °. Ęâ âč . ĘË . Ęâ§âË âŸ. Ęâ âč . ĘË . ĘË°â§
Connor had been restoring a classic Harley Davidson for nearly six months, slowly buying parts and working on it whenever he wasnât needed at the precinct. Hank hadnât minded Connor working on it in his garage, almost preferring it being hidden away from other people. Connor had joked that heâd let Hank drive it as long as he got his motorcycle license first. Hank on the other hand said he liked how they looked, but he also liked having all his limbs. It was no shock that most people didnât respect people, or androids in this case, on motorcycles. He had spent weeks learning to drive perfectly, even though he was an android there were always insane drivers.
Heâd bought a jacket and helmet during his last shopping excursion so he could at least be prepared when the bike was finally finished. The weather had finally warmed up, which meant he could drive around without the sun setting at four pm.
Taking a deep breath he grabbed the accelerator, reaching up to see if heâd been successful at reviving the old bike. The engine roared to life as he twisted his wrist forward gently, the sound of the engine revving like an angry lion.
âI did it!â Connor quickly turned the bike off, not wanting to waste what little gas he had in there at the moment. Heâd drive down to the gas station and fill it up so he could drive it to the station and surprise everyone.
Well, he really only wanted to surprise you.
â§Ë °. Ęâ âč . ĘË . Ęâ§âË âŸ. Ęâ âč . ĘË . ĘË°â§
Connor had chosen his clothes carefully, sliding on the boots that were recommended, before grabbing his leather jacket and slipping it on over his shoulders. Hank had mentioned how he could walk a runway with his clothes, almost shocked at how effortless it was for Connor to look handsome. Heâd never really understood the appeal, he wore clothes that he found pleasing, or what would keep him safe from the outside environment.Â
Grabbing the helmet he made his way outside, having already parked the bike in the driveway so that the garage wouldnât be sitting open the entire day. Putting on his helmet he straddled the bike carefully, turning it on as it roared to life once more. The gas tank was full, something heâd insisted on doing the night before. Carefully kicking up the kickstand he walked the bike to the end of the driveway, checking for any pedestrians or other drivers before he began to drive.
The wind felt nice as it whipped by, the rumbling of the bike vibrating from his toes to the tops of his shoulders. Other drivers stared as he drove by, their shock evident at the loud motorcycle as he sat idly waiting for the light to turn green. The drive wasnât one he hated doing, quite the opposite as it gave him time to think about what needed to be done. Unfortunately it seemed he tended to drive much faster while on a motorcycle. He pulled into the parking lot almost fifteen minutes before he was due to arrive, parking between your and Hankâs car.
Once the bike was off, the engine slowly cooling itself down as he pushed down the kickstand to step off the bike, Connor noticed a few people staring. That would always happen no matter where he was, but this felt different. They didnât look jealous, no, they looked almost shocked to see Connor stepping off the bike. Okay, maybe he did have a reputation for being a goodie two shoes but that was before the deviancy.
He grabbed the bottom of his helmet, slipping it off to try and fix his hair if needed. Since he didnât sweat his hair hadnât flattened to his head, running a hand through fixed it right away. The two officers outside kept their eyes on him as he made his way inside.
âConnor! Just the man I was looking fo-.â Your voice cut off as you stared over at him, eyes wide and lips parted.
That was a reaction heâd never gotten from you before, why did you look like someone shell shocked? Was there something wrong?
âY/N? Are you alright?â Connor stepped over, his helmet held loosely in his right hand.
Your eyes trailed over his body slowly, much slower than heâd ever seen you to do anyone else before, even people you found attractive. Your body temperature rose by a degree, skin flushed with goosebumps.
Oh.
Oh.
âI-Iâm sorry, yes Connor, Iâm just fine.â You smiled up at him, hands shakily clutching the tablet in your hands.
âAre you sure? We can go sit down at my desk if you need to.â Connor gently took your elbow, leading you down towards the desks and ushering you into his usual seat.
âConnor, I promise that Iâm fine. Iâve been going over the paperwork from this most recent case if youâd like to look at the information.â You held the tablet out to him, your voice breathy as your eyes trailed down his throat and chest.
He opened his mouth to respond, to tell you that the case could wait a few more minutes before he noticed the uptick in your heart rate. Heâd never had this kind of effect on someone before, it felt invigorating.Â
âAlright, I believe you.â He smirked down at you, plopping down into your chair before scooting closer.
You jumped right into the case, avoiding looking at him for any period of time to try and get your thoughts under control. Jeez, it was like you were a schoolgirl with a crush on the hotter older kid. Except you worked together, and Connor was clearly trying to impress you with the flowers, and then lunch, and then⊠Oh!
âIs something bothering you, Y/N?â Connorâs voice was low, the softness of his eyes keeping you from being able to speak properly.
âActually, there is.â Your tone was clear, a complete 180 to how youâd just been so flustered.
Connor was clearly taken aback, unsure of how to even approach the new situation heâd just landed himself in.
âYou come in here being all sweet, buying me roses, taking me to lunch, and now? Now youâre walking in looking like a walking, talking wet dream and Iâm simply supposed to keep my cool while you sit right next to me for the next ten hours?â You held a hand up as Connor opened his mouth to respond.
âYou are the embodiment of everything I want, Connor. So excuse me for being quite distracted at how gorgeous you look today.â You huffed, arms crossing over your chest as your little moment began to sink in.
Connor was shocked that youâd like him, he knew he liked you, anyone with eyes could see it, but knowing you liked him as more than a friend? Well, it was a little surprising for him. Maybe driving the Harley in was the best idea heâd had in years.
âWell, if thatâs the case. Can I take you on a date? A proper one that doesnât involve us getting soaked with rain?â Connor felt hopeful, whatâs the worst that could happen? You both already liked one another.
âFind a place where we can both have dinner, and itâs a date.â You smiled at him, standing up from his desk and leaving the tablet on the smooth surface.
Connor knew heâd need to spend a few minutes of his lunch finding a nicer restaurant, and couldn't have a repeat of the last time you two had gone out together. Even if it was a nice time, getting drenched from the rain was never fun.
As everyone worked it was almost as if a lightbulb popped up above his head.
Heâd taken Hank's advice twice and had it almost end in full disaster both times, and the one time he just did things naturally it all worked out. Maybe he should just listen to his own mind every now and then.
Yeah, that sounded like a much better plan.
You promised yourself that you would never be in this situation.
This is the kind of situation you told your best friends to avoid. Itâs basic girl code, telling them not to be stupid in going back to their ex. You know it never ends well. Most of the time anyways.
Most of the time they end up falling for their bullshit and then that causes them hurting even more.
You know right now, you are a dumbass.
Your relationship with Mason ended shortly after Christmas.
Itâs bad enough you saw it coming but you didnât expect it to happen quickly after Christmas as the way he broke up with you, you thought he would want to mend things. Things that havenât been easy in your relationship the last few weeks. You thought he wanted to apologise for being a dick.
Before the World Cup, you both knew the relationship was falling short. However, you were determined to make it work. No matter how had you tried, you couldnât afford losing him.
You tried to support him in every way possible. Travelling to Qatar, showing your moral support. You also suggested couples therapy, tried to get him to talk about his feelings he was keeping inside. And everything else that was on the list. Making you feel useless at times.
Mason however, wasnât having any of it. He liked to feel like he could take care of himself. He knew he was pushing you away and he didnât want to but this is what it has come to and he canât stop himself now.
In Qatar, there wasnât much you could do with him not being able to see everyday with the World Cup consequences. Which you understood. You tried looking at the positives, maybe time apart from you would make him realise how much he misses having you around and helping him out. You thought he would he would take his time to think about how shitty he has been with you the last couple of weeks leading up to the World Cup. To your surprise, it was the complete opposite. Mason came to the conclusion it would be better if the two of you went separate ways.
The night you two broke up, well when he broke up with you, always replayed in your head.
-
âI think we should break up,â Mason started to say, showing no emotion on his face whatsoever.
âWhat?â you definitely wasnât expecting this.
He had planned a a nice romantic evening or so you thought. The dinner table was elegantly decorated, with rose petals and candles around the table, with two glasses of wine, which you dismissed because you didnât feel like drinking.
You thought the best of things, thinking that heâd apologise for his behaviour these last couple of weeks. Instead he did all this to break up with you.
âI want you to know donât think I donât love you because I do, itâs just the things thatâs happening this season, I canât love you the same when Iâm feeling like shit.â
âYouâre having one bad season and youâre throwing me out of your life?!â You asked confusedly and annoyed. âYouâve had problems before but this was never the solution!â
âY/N you donât understand. This is my life, I have to try and help and the tea-â
âThis is not your life!!â You snapped. âItâs what you do for a living, big difference Mason.â
âIt is now okay?! Everything else seems like a distraction!â
âIâm a distraction? Your girlfriend who has been trying to help you for weeks is a fucking distraction? Are you fucking kidding me?â That hurt. It hurt how little to no appreciation he showed for your effort. The tears that you tried to hold in just fell. Maybe it couldâve been from sadness but now you were just mad.
Mad at him.
âBaby,â he sighed trying to ease the tension. Both of you had arguements before but it was never like this. Heâs now thinking of throwing the years you had together, which you thought of convincing him to not to do this but it was useless and once he makes his mind up thereâs no going back.
âYou have no right to call me that anymore. Youâve clearly made up your mind.â You snapped.
âIâm sorry, okay. I didnât word that right. But you need to understand me.â
âUnderstand what? That your job is more important than me and everything else in your life? That all the things Iâve done for you in the past meant nothing? Our relationship was for nothing? And that I mean nothing to you?!â You managed to say In between your sobs that you have been keeping in for too long, and this was your thirteenth reason.
You couldnât hold it in anymore.
Mason stepped closer to you and tried to hug you which you refused at first, but you always found yourself giving in, in the end. This could be your last hug ever so you wanted to treasure it. Wanted to get close to him. Wanted to smell his aftershave that was lingering on his clothes. Wanted him to run his hands up and down your back for comfort.
All for the last time.
You could feel his tears dropping on your shoulder. This couldnât have been easy for him too. Although you know heâs doing wrong but you also know the past year hasnât been the best for him and no matter how much this is hurting you, you also know heâs hurting too. âIâm so sorry, my love. I know you think this is easy to do but i promise you itâs not. I love you so much and if itâs meant to be Iâm sure weâll find our ways back to each other soon.â He pulled away from the hug and held the sides of your face, planting a kiss on your forehead. His lips lingering on your forehead a lot longer than anticipated which relaxed your mind for a second.
âIâm going to go gather my things and go.â You sniffled.
Mason just nodded in response and let you get to it. You go into your shared bedroom, where you gathered most of your things, one thing that made you break down instantly was your scrapbook you made for his 21st birthday. It was his first birthday you celebrated with him and it was special too, so you wanted to make it memorable. You flicked through the book where you come across the first page which was the first picture you took together, him positioned behind you, his head buried in your neck while you looked so happy. The happiest youâve been in a long while, you forgot what that felt like.
This book was meant to be what you show your future children, but you didnât get that far ahead. You hesitated in whether to take it or leave it with him. However you decided to take it with you as you felt like he wouldnât look back at it.
Once you finally got your things together, you looked back at your shared room which was now Masonâs for one last time. The good times you had in there would be looked back at for sure, at least for you anyways.
Mason who was waiting for you to be done was on the sofa, his head in between in his hands. When he saw you were coming out of the room he offered to help with your luggage but you refused.
âYou can stay here for a little while once you get sorted out if you want?â Mason mumbled.
âI think itâs too late for that Mase. Thank you though.â You said as you walked to the front door and remembered that his front door key was in your bag which you handed to him. There was a keyring with the photo of the two of you on there. You walked towards the door until you heard Mason speak again.
âY/n wait a second,â you looked back at him, hoping he would say this is a mistake and he wants to start fresh with you but was that the case? Nope. âWhere are you going to go? Itâs late. I donât want you wondering about at this time of night.â He asked genuinely worried for you.
But you couldnât help but answer coldly as this wasnât his problem anymore. You werenât his problem anymore. âYou have no right to worry about that anymore. You start your life from scratch and forget what I ever meant to you. If I ever did mean anything to you. Good luck with the future, Mase.â You choked out.
Quickly, you got out of the door but you werenât sure how much more you could hold your tears in for. Opening the boot to put all of your things in the back before you got into the drivers seat and drove away from his house for the last time.
There was tears streaming down your face the entire journey, luckily you still had your own flat that you didnât end up getting rid of, but itâs been a while since you been in there so it will be weird at first but youâll have to get used to it. After all this was your life from now on.
During your journey to your now new (old) home, you looked back on all the positives that your relationship had. For example; when he took you away just because he felt like it that was also when he said âI love youâ for the first time and you were wondering what you did to deserve this man. Now you were wondering what you did to deserve the situation he put you in.
âWhere in the relationship did we go wrong?â You thought. You always thought you made him happy. But clearly not if he felt like he needed to chuck you out of his life like that. You clearly werenât as important to him as you thought you were.
When you got to your old flat, as soon as you walked through the door, itâs like you were almost looking for a feeling of home come to you. But that wasnât the problem. The problem was that it was Mason who made it feel like home. And now you had to live without him.
You had started talking to Mason in the most weird ways ever, you were going through so much at the time so him coming into your life during the most hardest times of your life you would describe it as was truly a blessing in disguise.
Letâs recap to that day..
-
It was one of those days.
One where you felt like God was never on your side, trying to understand what you did to deserve the last few days of chaos youâve had.
Eyes closed. Trying to remain calm, steadying your mind and the pace of your breathing.
It had been a long day. You had just come back from the hospital 45 mins ago. No that wasn't your job, your mum had been admitted to hospital after having a traumatic car crash as you'd call it.
On Saturday night she was on the way back from dinner with her friends, until a drunk driver crashed into her and she remained unconscious up until Tuesday morning for a few minutes and remained unconscious again.
When you first got a call from the hospital your first instant reaction was shock and denial because as far as you'd known your mum was all about being a safe driver and she was always scolding you to drive safe. It hadn't settled in until you had seen her. All your emotions started crashing down at once.
You felt a bit helpless and guilty by not being able to do anything to help her, and you were losing hope slowly but deep inside you, you knew your mum will power through this, she's a strong woman after all. After having to raise 6 children when your father left you at a young age deciding that he wanted nothing to do with you, if she could go through that alone, you had hope that she'd get through this.
You couldn't help but feel alone. All your siblings were in their own little bubble and you didn't want to disturb them and you know that they wouldn't care because all of you were all so close but you couldn't help feel like you were burdening them.
All of you were equally upset, each one of them had their own distraction to help not think about this, but you had taken days off to visit your mum during hospital hours and just pour you heart out even though she hadn't had her eyes open you knew she could hear you.
Days prior to this, you had been struggling with your emotions already.
You had given your notice in for work because the environment was becoming so toxic and this guy at work would non stop harassing you until you couldn't take it anymore, mentally it was taking a toll on your mental health. Your ex had gotten back into contact with you repeatedly changing numbers, making different social media accounts to contact you, after numerously blocking him.
Overall you felt like crap, you didn't want to tell your friends about this because you felt like you were asking for sympathy when you didn't want that and you felt like they were all happy within their lives and you didn't want to burst that with your sad feelings.
So you just put a fake smile on your face which was believable to people, and when you were alone tears wouldn't stop flowing.
You hated yourself for not being strong enough.
The peace and quietness lasted about 2 minutes before a message came through your phone. You instantly thought it was someone from the hospital updating you about your mum but this message had confused you even further
Anna?
You most definitely weren't Anna and you most certainly didn't have a date today.
(Imagine you can see the face. Thank youđ)
It was like an addiction messaging each other, you just couldnât stop. It was flirty banter most of time, he arranged for you to first meet him at a small cafĂš because he was eager to see you, and this meeting made you feel something for him, even more than you did.
The next meeting you decided to count it as a date, and ever since then you didnât look back.
He was seriously a blessing in disguise. Your mum was getting better, you got a new job and you couldnât be more happier that everything finally was starting to fall into place.
-
Over the months since your breakup you tried to forgive and forget; Forgive because he genuinely did have a lot going on and you also knew his passion for football and maybe you just need to find your way back to each other once the time is right. Forgetting about him and what he meant to you was the hardest thing to do.
Itâs been five months now since your breakup and not a day goes by without thinking about him. You just had to remind yourself that heâs probably not thinking about you anymore and heâs probably moved on and as much you wanted him to tell you that he wanted you back probably wasnât the case. Which hurt you deeply thinking about it but if thatâs what helps you to move on then so be it.
The first month was incredibly difficult for you, wanting to text him every hour of the day to try and work things out, even though he ended it you wanted him to fight for you, you once thought you meant the whole world to him, and now acted like you were strangers.
His friends had found out about the break up and checked in on you to see how you were doing. They didnât see it coming, especially Ben, he thought he was head over heels for you and he was always going on about how perfect his relationship is. Ben insisted on talking some sense into him but you refused, not wanting to force his way back to you, youâd much rather him come back to you when he was ready.
Whenever that was.
At this point you were starting to think that it would only happen in your dreams.
You felt a like crap and thought you were being over dramatic, thinking that Masonâs probably isnât doing the same and moping over this, so over the next two months you tried pushing him out of your mind and start focusing on your mental health and yourself, getting your self love back.
Saffie, Libby and Imogen, who had been your support system since helped you through it and you couldnât be more grateful. They also were shocked about the break up but as of right now you didnât care. You had come to terms with that it wasnât meant to be and you tried convincing yourself that you were fine with it.
When you moved in with Mason, it was difficult to see them, as they lived out of town and at the time things were just getting hectic that you didnât have the time, even though you hadnât seen each other for a while you had still kept each other updated on every little detail.
Tonight, you were going on a night out with your girls. It had been a while since you had a girls night and you couldnât wait because you had missed your girls.
âCheers!! I want to make a toast to Y/N. I want you to know that youâre the most strongest person I know and you donât need no mannn that makes you feel like shit!!â Libby screamed through the loud music that was playing at the club, and you all took a sip of your cocktails. You promised to yourself and the girls that wouldnât cry tonight and so far you were failing but you decided to blink the tears away and have the time of your life with your besties. Itâs the least you deserved.
-
You donât know how you got here but youâre not complaining.
You barely make it inside the house. As soon as you both are nside, youâre kissing, making out against the front door. Pushing him back, desperately wanting more, trying to suck every last drop out of the love that is still left.
Youâve missed him. Missed him so much.
âWe shouldnât do this,â Mason pants, pulling away, framing your face with his hands, and you nod.
âNo, but it feels good, doesnât it?â You say with a grin, thatâs all your willpower gone out of the window.
Mason grins at you. Just like he used to; itâs just like it used to be.
âFuck yes. Letâs go upstairs.â
You knows this will only hurt you in the morning but you canât resist, youâve missed him, missed how he feels, how he tastes. And all that matters right now is that your legs are wrapped around Masonâs waist and the way he groans when you push yourself into him.
Fuck, it feels good.
Itâs not a long, drawn out fuck, no changing positions, no words. Itâs not hasty either, but itâs desperate, both of them fighting for the perfect angle, chasing their release, needing it.
Still, itâs loving. The way Masonâs hand is in the exact right spot on your back, the way they kiss, breathlessly moaning into each others mouths. And the way they lock eyes, reading each otherâs faces.
Theyâve done this many times - spent so many nights entangled, making each other moan and pleasuring themselves. They know this, every part of it is familiar.
It happens too quickly, but you wouldnât have the strength to prolong it anyways. Itâs too much, there is not a single clear thought in your head as you kiss Mason through his climax.
âIt will hurt more tomorrow,â Mason whispers when you pull him closer under the blanket. You know heâs not just talking about you aching. His tone is soft, laced with a shadow of a sorry, his hand gently stroking your arm, the gesture putting you to sleep.
-
When you woke up it was around four AM you werenât surprised to find yourself sleeping next to someone but you couldnât pinpoint on who it was as you were too drunk and didnât remember a single thing about your one night stand as you rarely have them, silently cursing yourself for drinking too much.
This room seemed familiar to you though, you donât know if your mind was playing tricks on you or if it was actually familiar to you. That was until the person next to you turned to face you, still asleep and you were met with none other than Mason.
You shot up at the exact second, accidentally waking up Mason doing so. âY/N, whatâs wrong? Letâs get back to sleep yeah?â Mason says in a sleepy voice but you were still in a state of shock of how this happened, you were about to reply until you turned around to face him to see him asleep again.
How did you let this happen.
You went downstairs to compose yourself with a glass of water and watched your reflection on his window.
âYou stupid idiot. Why did you do this to yourself?â You thought. The more you thought about everything that had happened last night, how much you missed him touching you, kissing you, tears were forming because it just wasnât fair that he was making you feel like this.
In the middle of your thoughts, Mason entered the kitchen. He wrapped his arms around your waist, buried his face in your neck, kissing it repeatedly. âBaby, why are you here? Itâs 4am,â he whispered in your ear. You were just staring blankly outside at his patio, tears threatening to fall. Your lip started wobbling.
How could you be so dumb? He starts seducing you whilst drunk and it worked so easily he had you right where he wanted. You were never that girl to have one night stands, but this one felt like one because you knew what Masonâs decision was.
âListen, you were drunk. We both had a little too much to drink. I saw you in the club alone, I donât know where your friends were and you looked like you had a little too much to drink. I offered to take you home but you mentioned you left your keys with Imogen because you know how clumsy you can be and lose them. So I took you back to mine and I donât know how it happened but there was sexual tension in the air and we both started kissing and one thing led to another, but I want you to know it doesnât mean anything to me.â Mason said so confidently.
You needed a moment to hear the last sentence alone, but you wanted him to think that were coping well without him because he had moved on and somehow you needed to do the same, but after last night itâs become hard again. Itâs like having sex with him has brought your feelings back again but it doesnât matter because he doesnât feel the same about you anymore, even though when you broke up he told you that heâll always love you. You guessed that was lie.
You wanted it to mean something to him, you wanted him to ask for you back. You wanted him to fight for you.
Which will only happen in your dreams by the looks of it.
You wondered if he ever loved you? Now you just believed what your negative thoughts were telling you.
âIâm going to get my stuff and leave,â you said with a lump in your throat and glossy eyes.
Mason saw the expression on your face and was the sick of the sad expression you had on your face and he snapped, âOkay. Donât expect me to stop you then. I have moved on.â
Itâs like this was a different man in front of you, you donât remember getting to know this guy, you donât remember falling in love with him. The Mason you remember falling in love with wouldnât let you go without a fight. You werenât going to let him treat you like this so you snapped back. âYeah because you sleeping with me last night really tells me that youâve moved on doesnât it?â You rolled your eyes.
âIt was a mistake! I told you, I was drunk, you were drunk, one thing led to another and itâs a regret of mine now letting you think that youâll ever get close to me again. Maybe, just maybe if you werenât so needy all the damn time we couldâve given this a second chance.â Mason frustratedly said, with what he said, sounded like you hurt him, when he was the one to break up with you. It just didnât make any sense to you.
You wished he hadnât pushed you away. You pushed past Mason to get your things, not wanting to stay here a minute longer.
Mason stayed quiet, knowing what he said was wrong but in the heat of the moment it just came out. Once you came out of his room and got your things ready, you walked out his front door whilst he watched you leave.
-
It had been two nights since that night you encounter with Mason, you started thinking outside of box and tried moving on as he had, it was lot harder than you thought it would be. Maybe because the Mason you saw two nights ago was a completely different person in front of you.
Maybe if you went on a few dates it would help? You thought.
You never did see yourself separating from Mason, but thatâs how things currently were and you had to accept that. You decided to scroll on Twitter for bit and what first came up on suggested posts surprised you a little because you werenât expecting that when you opened the app.
To say you were more than hurt to see how heâs moved on quickly, but also you were convinced that the paparazzi make things worse from what they were. You experienced it when you were with Mason, so part of you were hoping that this girl pictured with him was just a friend but looking at the picture it was telling you something else.
You know it has been more than a few months that youâve broken up now but a part of you wasnât ready to let go. But you always promised yourself that if you saw Mason happy with another person you would be happy for him no matter how much it hurt you inside and you werenât going to ruin his happiness.
Thatâs if this article was true.
Now you needed to move on because it seemed like Mason wasnât going to come back to you by the looks of things and you need to accept that.
-
Mason didnât know how to feel when the paparazzi photos came out, first of all the pictures were completely misleading to what they actually were.
He wasnât on a date.
The only thing he was doing was playing Cupid, and setting this girl up with his mate, Ben. When Mason spotted Y/N on a night out with her friends, he was with Ben and a few of his other friends. This girl caught Benâs attention but he was too much of a scaredy cat to go up to her. He thought he missed his chance.
That was until, the girl, Chloe, reached out to Mason on DMs and asked if they could meet to talk things through. He knew Ben wouldnât dare to ask her outright, so they planned to call it a âblind dateâ because Chloe actually had her eyes on Ben and it turns out that when she was about to go up to him that night he had disappeared, she couldnât find him but she also knew Mason was good friends with Ben so sheâs shooting her shot the long way.
Mason still deeply loved Y/N, he only said he moved on because he wanted Y/N think heâs doing okay without her. He really doesnât know why he started pushing her away, and he regrets it because all he wanted know is Y/N between his arms. He would do everything for their relationship to be normal again, but instead he had to fuck it up.
Mason wonât be stupid enough to lose you again at any given chance. He was already stupid enough to know what life was like without you and heâs not risking that again.
He knew he needed to fix this.
In the years since I've been running this blog, I've made a lot of jokes about Renji's seemingly ill-thought-out plan of:
Beat Captain Kuchiki
???
Profit Be with Rukia again
but I was looking at his volume poem the other day, and I think that I am an idiot, and beating Byakuya has never been connected to seeing Rukia again. It's a smokescreen. He does have an actual, actionable plan of training and working hard enough to become a vice-captain (specifically Byakuya's vice-captain), and then approaching Rukia again as her social equal. We know that beating Byakuya wasn't a key component of that, because he was planning to do it as soon as she got back from her mission.
The thing about defeating Byakuya is that Renji is purposely setting his sights a few degrees to the left of the truth to keep from falling into depression and despair. Trying to get Rukia back is a thing that he can try to do and fail, and in fact, he very well may. Beating Byakuya is impossible. No one believes he can really do it, least of all himself, which means, paradoxically, he can't lose. When you fail to do the impossible, you can shrug and say, "well, it was impossible, what did you expect?
I mean, it's right there in the poem: "I am going to focus on reaching the unreachable because if I think about Rukia, I am going to kill myself." And I don't think Renji is a guy who has a suicidal bent--the fact that he pursues this line of thinking is proof of that. But what is the difference between a person who thinks about killing themself and someone actively works to not to...? I don't know. It's complicated.
One of the most fundamental themes of Bleach is the idea that Hollows are fallen souls who lose their hearts and eat other souls in order to ease their pain, but they only end up creating more Hollows in the process except that we see examples again and again of shinigami pulling this exact shit (Byakuya, I am looking at you). I cannot figure out if Renji's drive to distract himself from the pain of losing Rukia is a play to avoid falling into monstrosity, or if it's pretty much a direct route. I mean, this is basically exactly the path that Gin and Tousen take--which makes it all the more interesting to me that Aizen rejects Renji as unsuitable for his conspiracy.
I can't put my finger on any particular thing that separates Renji from other characters in this respect, aside from maybe his fundamental Renji-ness-- the fact that he has other friends and connections? That he has hope, no matter how dim, that he may actually reunite with Rukia some day? That he's just a guy who reaches for life instead of death? (Mildly off-topic, but if there is one other character that this is also true of, I think it might be...Matsumoto???)
Anyway, another thing I like about setting himself against an impossible goalpost is that this would be a terrible idea for a human with a finite lifespan, but shinigami have all the time in the world. Go ahead, pal, pursue your impossible tasks, live your truth! I read a lot of stories about semi-immortal beings, and I love love love it when they seem very human and then they do some batshit insane thing that makes you realize, oh, they very much are not.
My favorite way to break my own heart is re-reading the "Fate is a Millstone" chapter, where we learn that Renji was a hair's-breadth away achieving his real goal of talking to Rukia again, only to have Fate throw him a face-full of pocket sand. I think it's extra salt in the wound, to be honest, if he's been pursuing the impossible goal of beating Byakuya as a distraction for all these years, only to arrive at a place where Rukia's life literally hinges on him beating Byakuya, a thing which is not just theoretically impossible, but something Renji has spent 40 years becoming intimately familiar with just how impossible it is.
Hi. Could you help me understand the meaning of this line "ăăăăçĄăă"çčăăââŠă ăăăăæšăŠăâŠć€çŹăȘăéă«éăăȘăćăæ±ăăă”ăčă±ăźéăăä»ć§ăŸă!!"? It appears in the farewell scene between Sakura and Sasuke in the first manga published in Weekly Shonen Jump. SS uses this line to emphasize Sakura's special place for Sasuke. When translated with DeepL, it reads: 'The connection between us is irreplaceable. That's why I abandoned it⊠Sasuke's battle begins now, seeking unlimited power in the lonely darkness!' This seems consistent with SS's interpretation. However, MangaPanda's translation is: 'The ever precious friendships formedâŠonly to be thrown away! In the depths of solitude, in search of unlimited power, Sasuke's fight begins hereâŠ'. Personally, I think MangaPanda's translation fits the context better, but I don't have knowledge of Japanese to be sure, so could you clarify this for me? *Below is the image accompanying the line above
Hi @ymamsp
SS fans really try to twist everything they can, huh!
ăăăăçĄăăâçčăăâ... ă ăăăăæšăŠă! ć€çŹăȘăé ă«éăăȘăćăæ±ăăă”ăčă±ăźéăă ä»ć§ăŸă!!
kakegae naki , "tsunagari"....dakara koso suteta! kodokunaru yami ni kagiri naki chikara wo motome , sasuke no tatakai ga ima hajimaru!!
The Precious/Priceless, "bonds/ties" (that formed) ... now that (he) cut them off! In the solitary darkness, seeking for an endless/unlimited power, Sasuke's battle begins now!!!"
Let me break it down:
çč ăă (tsunagari) : connection , friendship, relationship, bond
ć€çŹăȘăé (Kodokinaru Yami) - it expresses loneliness/solitary and darkness. This refers to being in a state of loneliness or being enveloped by darkness. é symbolizes difficult situations, challenges, or an internal feeling of loneliness.
é is also used metaphorically. And, é may also be used figuratively referring to something in hiding or dark side such as in "dark place in ones mind"
ă« éăăȘăć (Ni kagirinaki chikara) - endless/unlimited power
ć is usually used as a noun, meaning "power, strength or force".
ăæ±ă (womotome) - to seek or to search for. ăăă is a particle that indicates purpose. In other words, it means "to seek/to search for infinite/unlimited power."
æŠă (tatakai) - a fight; a battle
ä» (ima) an adverb, meaning "now."
When something begins, you use ~ăć§ăŸă (ga hajimaru)
ăăăăçĄăă"çč ăăâ... ă ăăăăæšăŠă! - this sentence expresses that Sasuke cut off his Teammates in order to pursue his Goal. Relationships with important people can sometimes hinder judgment in the process of moving towards a goal. So he needs to sever that ties. Cutting off bonds and connections, it indicates a situation in which one searches for strength and answers in the midst of loneliness and darkness. "Seeking unlimited power in lonely darkness" means striving for infinite power, strength, or influence. And it also describes a situation where someone faces tremendous challenges and seeks to gain immense strength or power to overcome these difficulties.
In other words, the phrase suggests that new trials and growth will occur as a result of throwing away past actions (bonds), and it expresses that he has started to take up a new battle.
All in all it means that he has left the village after severing ties with his teammates and now begins his new journey to gain strength and power in the lonely darkness.
SS uses this line to emphasize Sakura's special place for Sasuke.
If that's the case, then, why didn't her confession awaken his Sharingan, but when Naruto confessed, Sasuke awakened his third Tomoe.
And Sasuke himself said that severing the bond between Naruto makes him stronger.
Yes, he pierced Naruto's chest with his chidori and tried to kill him several times. But he couldn't cut his bond with Naruto.
He never showed any pain when leaving Kakashi & Sakura... Whereas he felt immense pain when he leaving Naruto alone after Vote1 battle
Whenever Sasuke saw Naruto, he reminded him of his family....for no reason, and that would make Sasuke happy. But he thought that feeling happy was a form of weakness, so to avoid being distracted by Naruto's presence, Sasuke trained even harder to avenge his brother. And this is way before Team 7 was formed. Despite Sasuke's best efforts to stay away from the weakness Naruto had instilled in him, Sasuke ended up on the same team as him... and once again he reminded him of his family.
There is no mention of Kakashi or Sakura instilling him the feeling of family in him. But, all these feelings were attributed to Naruto and Naruto alone. And Sasuke only considered Naruto as his family, not Kakashi or Sakura.
So, are the other teammates equal to Naruto???
âą At the age of eight, Naruto already gave him the feeling of a family, but not Sakura or Kakashi.
âą He feeling the Pain of Naruto alone, but not Sakura or Kakashi.
âą Naruto was changing Sasuke's heart and not Sakura or Kakashi.
âą He felt relieved because of Naruto and not because of Kakashi or Sakura.
âą Naruto is his weakness, but not Sakura or Kakashi.
âą Sasuke called Naruto his (extremely) closest friend, but not Sakura or Kakashi.
âą His body moves on its own for Naruto, but not for Sakura or Kakashi.
âą Ever since he left the Village, he doesn't care about Sakura & Kakashi.
Also, When Sasuke thought about Team 7 during Killer Bee battle, the text says: "Looking back he wasn't alone"
But the word "alone" later pointed to Naruto and Naruto alone:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/53566c16cb9392cab0917599d0a22fee/a29580c349776c4f-08/s540x810/d02a5e3fcffae2b4301dcadda4762afaab6bef53.jpg)
"After losing Itachi, I thought I was finally alone... But there was Naruto... I absolutely must kill him"
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9541e03e1aaabfb0b59981c0eeb73262/a29580c349776c4f-be/s540x810/35378925b74441a7ff877636eda1edf75484a1b1.jpg)
"And now... With this I will finally be able to be alone"
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cf135611ef6c0a7c9a961a8467faee93/a29580c349776c4f-47/s540x810/1f6318fc7886b925f7dc7a563e084521fbe724b3.jpg)
Not to mention, during the War Arc, Team 7 picture makes an appearance again... and Sasuke exclusively slashes Naruto's image out of this picture... because it's necessary for Sasuke to become a lonely.
If that bento offering to Naruto was about Team work, then why did he cut Sakura out of the panel and treasured this as his precious memories in his dying moments?
Sasuke can easily cut his ties with Sakura and Kakashi, because they are only his teammates. He cared about them during his Team 7 days but that does not mean he cared for them to the same extent as he cared for Naruto. He prioritizes Naruto and it was always about Naruto and he always individualizes him outside of the team.
A repost of something that I wrote, and put on my second account before here :)
Eddie was crouched on the curb of the building when one of the back doors to the mall suddenly flung open. He was behind the mall near the dumpsters, so it wasnât uncommon for people to slam the door with their legs while their hands were full of garbage bags. What was not normal, however, were the tiny shorts on this guy's ass.
There were no shorts that needed to be that short. Though it was the eighties, crop tops, and short shorts on men were a trend. That didnât mean Eddie had to enjoy it. If anything, he enjoyed it so much that it did a full one-eighty into a bad case of loathing.
But this sailor, in his short blue shorts, maybe one in a million because Eddie's enjoyment was doing a full three-sixty on repeat. Heâs pretty sure his eyes were doing that silly animated thing too, where they continuously popped in and out of his skull.
As he kept watching this fine-looking sailor, he noticed the other man struggling to carry three garbage bags in his two hands. His arms were visibly straining from the weight. The man was also purposely stumbling to the dumpster to avoid one of the leaking bags, leaving a trail of melted ice cream behind him. He was a walking disaster just waiting to happen and Eddie found himself slightly more into that than he had previously thought.
What can Eddie say? He has a thing for dumb men and nice asses. And this gorgeous, gorgeous fool in front of him was the epitome of dumbassery.
Eddie was so distracted by this man that his cigarette burned to the nub, and he wasnât paying attention to the heat slowly beginning to reach his fingers. Not until it was too late did he notice the tiny lit flame against his skin. Some of the ash landed on his pants, hands, and even his favorite âRide the Lightningâ tee.
âFuck,â he yelps as he hops up and purposely drops the nub under his show to put it out. His right hand, which got burnt, was doing a dramatic jazz hand skit, while his left made a feeble attempt to brush off the ash. He then looks back up to see the sailor, who had been two-thirds of the way to the dumpster before Eddie did his small fire dance, was now looking at him.
From where he stood, Eddie could hear the other chuckling at him. Embarrassment washed over him before it slowly turned to anger when he finally comprehended who he was looking at.
Standing almost ten feet away from him was Steve Harrington, the same Harrington who was a complete douchebag in high school. Now, said douchebag was holding back soft laughter. The asshole even opened his mouth, probably to give Eddie shit, when the bag that had been leaking the entire way to the dumpster finally broke.
Ice cream and trash go everywhere, most landing on Steve's shoes and hairy legs.
Eddie doesnât hold back the laughter that catches him by surprise, his anger leaving him before he can say anything too stupid. However, he quickly stops when the other boy's gaze falls back on him.
Heâs afraid heâll have to run away from a trash-covered king, but that fear quickly dissolves when he hears Steve's laughter slowly join his.
âI suppose that's what I get for being an asshole.â Steve comments, scrunching his nose in disgust as he steps out of the puddle of sour milk at his feet.
He looks back up, about to say something to Eddie, but the door he exited less than five minutes ago flings open. This time, a disgruntled girl with a slight bob and matching sailor suit emerges.
âHey, asshole-â She stops mid-sentence, her expression morphing into disgust as she processes the mess surrounding Steve.
Eddie glances back at Steve who is now frantically moving much faster than before. He throws the garbage over the dumpster and quickly begins to pick up what he can, which isnât much before he runs back to the girl at the door.
âSorry, I didnât see the bag was ripped until I was like five feet away from the exit, and I was hoping to get it all mopped up before you noticed, but the bag broke andââ Steveâs words were flying a mile per minute, each hitting his coworker in the face all at once.
Once again, Eddie is surprised by the boy's behavior and so is Robin, whose name tag he had managed to catch when she takes a step back from Steve. Who now reeked of garbage and seemed oblivious to this fact along with what personal space was.
âOk, ok, I get it, dingus.â Robins's hand moves up in a stop motion. Both she and Eddie watch as Steveâs anxiety train slows down to a halt before it goes too far off the rails.
âWe can get a janitor to clean it up or something, but I need you to get back in there before I piss myself. Iâm having one of your kids watch the booth while we are away and I donât think we have enough time to piss and get you cleaned up before they start robbing us clean.â Robin rambles out.
Eddie canât help but think that the two were perfect for each other because they sure did ramble a lot.
Eddieâs existence is again ignored as the two sailors head back in. Before Steve is completely gone though, he sends a small finger wave Eddie's way.
And at that moment, Eddie decided he was going to loathe that boy's ass forever.
#Eddie is down bad for Steve Harrington in short shorts#itâs absolutely wild how dumb he gets#itâs fitting though moron x moron kind of love story#king dumbass meets and falls in love with the freakiest dumbass of them all#pre season four#pre season three events#Steve and Robins relationship is new#stobin#honestly I think I need to write more stobin#that or more Wayne Munson content#steddie#stranger things#eddie munson#steve harrington#steve x eddie
I saw someone say how Buck and Tommy wouldn't get their first christmas together and I had to write this.
Buck was dead on his feet. The shift from hell was over and he had 72 hours of uninterrupted time ahead of him. Buck would rather live this latest shift for those 72 hours than spend them alone with his thoughts. The baking has been helping but he is tired of trying to move on. Tired of missing Tommy, tired of being mad at himself and at Tommy. Tired of being mad at his friends because they had someone to go home too.
The brown box sitting beside his door has Buck casting his mind back, did he do some late night shopping? He couldnât think of anything, impulse buying only lasted the first few days after the break up. It didnât take his mind of things nearly enough. Buck bent over to pick up the folded piece of paper that was sitting on top of the box.
âHey Buck, signed for this for you. Knew you would be home soon so I left it here, got called into work. Thanks for the apple cinnamon loaf, itâs all Iâve been craving lately. Catch ya soon. Amy.â
Written in messy, rushed, slopping handwriting his neighbours note has him smiling softly. Amy knocked on his door earlier this week apologising for interrupting him, especially because she hadnât introduced herself before, but the smell coming from his kitchen was amazing and the only thing currently helping calm her morning sickness and could she please, please, please have some. Buck, of course, let her have the whole thing as well as several other items that had her eyes lighting up.
The memory of Amy sending her husband over a few days later for more because she ate all of it distracts Buck as he opens the box he dumped on his kitchen counter. He stared at the contents, confused at what he was looking at. What was this, what had he bought? Looking at the label on the box had Buck slumping down on to a stool, sorrow overwhelming him. This was Tommyâs Christmas present.
Damn it, he ordered this weeks ago hoping to surprise Tommy for their first Christmas together. Now it was just a reminder of everything he has lost. Buck isnât sure how long he sits there staring at the box, but the sun has almost set so it had to be an hour or more. Buck was thinking through all his options for getting this to Tommy. Because he was going to get it to Tommy somehow.
Buck stands up so suddenly he feels light headed, rushing up the stairs to retrieve a gift box he knows has been taking up space for ages. He knew he would use it someday. âNever throw out a nice box that had been given to youâ he thinks remembering the numerous times Maddie used to say that at birthday and Christmas time.
Buck hurries downstairs and transfers the contents into the gift box and opens his junk drawer. He moves things around until he finds the scissors and the green ribbon that has been in there for who knows how long and who knows why. Red box, green ribbon it does look Christmas-y at least. Buck knows better than to think this is too good to be true as he grabs the present, his keys and makes his way to his car.
He pulls into Tommyâs driveway, turns off his car and sits in the dark. Iâm just going to leave it on his doorstep and go home. Iâm just going to leave it on his doorstep and go home. Buck repeats in his head. Itâs what he decided on the drive over here, he wants to see Tommy but it is later than he realised and heâs not sure he can handle it. With the plan set in his mind Buck gets out of his car grabbing the present as he exits and closes his door quietly.
âDamn itâ he exclaims setting off the motion light he forgot about as he approached Tommyâs front door. Maybe Tommy wonât investigate what set it off, he hopes.
âEv -Buck? What are you doing here?â Tommy asks standing in the open doorway looking shocked as well as more dishevelled than usual.
Buck takes in the messy hair and skewed clothing, his stomach drops. âIâm, Iâm sorry if Iâve interrupted something I just wanted to give you thisâ he says avoiding Tommyâs eyes and holding the box out without getting any closer to Tommy.
Tommy looks down at his shirt and straightens it, understanding shows on his face as to what Buck thinks he was doing. âI fell asleep on the couch. I havenât been sleeping all that well, guess it caught up to me when I got home this afternoon,â something like hope flashes in Buckâs eyes. âDo you want to come in Ev -Buck?â Tommy asks stepping to the side to allow Buck room.
âSureâ he says walking into Tommyâs house and moving towards the kitchen because in Buckâs mind it feels less intimate than the living room.
âDo you want a drink?â Tommy asks unsure why Buck is here but bracing himself for the hate he knows he is owed.
âNo, I wonât stay long. I just wanted to give you thisâ Buck says holding out the box again.
Tommy moves slowly towards the box and takes it from Buckâs hands. âWe havenât spoken in weeks and the first time we do itâs so you can give me a present?â Tommy asks looking confused.
âJust open it Tommy, I canât have this conversation right nowâ Buck replies suddenly feeling exhausted. He should have slept after his shift before he did this. Or maybe he shouldnât have brought this to Tommy at all.
âYou showed up at my doorâ Tommy snaps âsorryâ he apologies looking at the box he has placed on the table.
âYeah well I wasnât going to knock. I had planned to leave this at your door and go. Forgot about that stupid lightâ Buck replies âPlease just open itâ knowing he should leave before Tommy does look inside but unable to make his feet move.
Tommy looks the box over again and starts to undo the ribbon âYou were going to leave this at my door without a note, or a tag letting me know itâs from, oh my godâ Tommy whips his head up to look at Buck. Pulling the items out of the box Tommy turns them this way and that, inspecting them for a long time âThese are originals, arenât they?â he asks Buck tears threatening to spill out âHow did you find them? I have been searching for monthsâ Tommy says knowing its silly to get so emotional over some Chevy Impala bumper guards but it is honestly the best present he has received, maybe ever.
âI found a site a little while ago on one of my internet dives and I remembered you telling me about the car you were restoring and how hard the parts were to find.â Buck says feeling almost shy now that he has actually given Tommy the present. âI wanted to get you something meaningful for our first Christmas. So after you told me that you bought that junk heap because your mum always wanted an Impala and restoring it made you feel close to her I knew what I had to get you.â Buck supplies holding back tears of his own. They wonât get their first Christmas together now but if he can still bring some happiness to Tommyâs life he is willing to endure this heartache.
Tommy looks dumb struck at how thoughtful Evan has been. It was more of a rant because Tommy was so frustrated that restoring the car to its original status was more difficult than he realised. He barely remembers telling Evan about why he was doing it, but Evan remembered. Evan searched for this for him. Evan came here tonight even though he looks exhausted and likely coming off a tough shift. When did he switch from thinking this was Buck to remembering he was Evan, Tommy thinks to himself. âWait hereâ Tommy says voice cracking slightly as he leaves the kitchen for his bedroom.
Buck worries he has made a mistake bringing up Tommyâs mum but he didnât want Tommy thinking he just put a couple strips of metal in a box. I should leave before he comes back Buck thinks, preparing to go when Tommy comes back in carrying a frame, eyes looking a little redder than when he left.
âI got your Christmas present a while ago as wellâ Tommy says handing it to Evan âSorry itâs not wrappedâ
Buck takes the frame and looks down at a black background with a white circle that contains dots and lines. Below the circle âThe stars alignedâ was printed with Evan and Tommy, a date and coordinates beneath it. âItâs a star map.â Tommy says âIt captures the positions of the constellations, stars and planets at a certain timeâ he explains.
âItâs the date of our first kissâ Evan says a tear sliding down his cheek.
âI was going to give it to Chim and Maddie to give to you, I wanted you to have it but I didnât think you would want to see meâ Tommy says moving towards Evan and raising his hand to wipe the tear away before stopping short.
Buck took a step closer, closing the gap between their bodies âIt meant something to you?â he asks unsure what answer he will hear.
âIt meant everything Evanâ Tommy replies placing his hand on Evanâs cheek âIâm so sorryâ he says pulling Evanâs face closer and kissing him softly.
âSo am Iâ Evan says deepening the kiss, knowing Tommy is letting him decide if he wants this. âApologise later though, kiss me nowâ he demands.
âOf course Evanâ Tommy smiles into the kiss, maybe they will get that first Christmas after all.
â enemies make the best lovers, you know. â //SHOT
Friday evening was telenovela evening.
"Rodrigo, that wasn't me at the ball! That was my twin sister Camilla!" The actress was beautiful. Her hair and chest bounced dramatically as she spoke. It was almost distracting enough to make you ignore her horrendous acting. Almost.
"No!" Rodrigo gasped dramatically on the TV screen. "She tricked me! Clara, I promise my heart only belongs to you!" The actor who played Rodrigo was barely wearing his shirt. Just two buttons held it ""closed"" and his shimmering pecks sparkled in the studio lights.
This was the worst TV show Perry had ever seen. He has to know what happens next.
Without looking, Perry reached to the left and grasped a handful of popcorn. He didn't even check his hand before he stuffed all of it into his mouth, his eyes were glued to the TV.
"He's going to end up with the evil twin sister, I'm sure of it," Heinz informed his soap opera buddy with full confidence. "They'll get married and everything."
Perry arched one sceptical eyebrow at his nemesis. His legs were draped over Heinz's lap, a comforting position to lean back in. But it made reaching for popcorn a little impractical. Obviously, Heinz wasn't aware enough to offer him any assistance. So, Perry had to fold himself in half every time he reached for more.
He had paused, mid lean, fist full of popcorn, to doubt Heinz's expertise.
"She's probably pregnant with his baby right now. You know they didn't just kiss in that broom closet during the gala."
Perry dumped his popcorn into his mouth so he could sign. ăBut he's been faithful to Clara for three seasons.ă
"Which is way too long in tv-land! They need to shake things up and the evil sister is perfect! She has all the same features as Clara, but evil! And we all know evil is sexy!"
Perry shook his head lightly.ăThey can't stand each other, she's going to try to kill him during the rehearsal dinner.ă He wasn't going to touch that evil is sexy remark.
"And Rodrigo is going to think it's so hot!" Heinz yes-and'd
Perry shot him a look that attempted- and succeeded in conveying: you're insane.
"No, I'm right! I'll bet you anything they're going to hate each other so much that Rodrigo forgets all about Clara. He only focuses on Camilla and they have a love-hate relationship.
ăThat would never work.ă Perry's hands moved with confidence, but Doof only scoffed.
"As if you don't know that enemies make the best lovers! It's true!"
Perry removed his legs from Heinz's lap to get up. Arguing with him was no use, so he was going to go to the balcony and lament the fact that Disney doesn't let him smoke.
Heinz scrambled to pause the episode and got up to follow him. He almost knocked the bowl of popcorn over, but there wasn't much left inside to spill anyway.
"You're only avoiding me because you can't handle the truth!" Heinz said and he followed his nemesis outside.
"You get back here!"
Perry had a feeling Doofenshmirtz thought he was soooo funny.
"Just accept that they're super us-coded and watch the next episode with me! Come on Perry! Cliffhangers are bad enough, but being left hanging because you need to throw a hissy fit is way worse."
Now on the balcony, Perry sighed tiredly. Up here, the air was cold enough that it escaped his mouth like a cloud of vapour. Close enough.
"I'm going to continue watching without you!" Heinz threatened, but he caught the glowering look Perry cast over his shoulder and suddenly fell silent.
When pretending to be dramatic was no longer funny, Perry returned to the couch to watch the rest of the season. Heinz wasn't entirely correct, but Rodrigo did end up kissing Camilla at the wedding, not realizing that his actual bride was tied up in the broom closet with a bomb strapped to her chest. The finale cliffhanger ended when Rodrigo learned who he had married and where his bride was.
Heinz groaned as the credits rolled. "Now I'm going to have to wait for months! Do you think she'll live, Perry?"
Perry frowned as he tried to get into the writers' heads. ăIt would be so dramatic if she died.ă
Doofenshmirtz flopped over and threw the last few kernels from the popcorn bowl at the screen. "This show sucks."
Perry agreed as he googled the release date for the next season.
5 times outtake
This is the original first part of Five times Obi-Wan defended Quinlan with his words (and one time he skipped that step) when I was mucking about with having them meet properly earlier but then I started thinking about how that might shift other things and it didn't fit right anymore so I went back and wrote the one I actually used, which is very different and I like very much.
But I also still like this very much. And maybe one day I will go back and explore those changes but if you saw the size of my WIP list you would perhaps take pity on me (and give it a month or two).
Bruck sneered. âI don't know why you follow Oafy-Wan around when heâs obviously gonna wash out - what, are you too stupid to see how the Masters avoid him?â
Obi-Wan froze, in the middle of reaching for the door-pad to the hall.
Surely Padawan Vos wouldnât fall for that â obviously he had been humouring the initiate who had helped him hide from a Master Nu on the warpath, and then struck up an unexpectedly wide-ranging friendship. (Obi-Wan would miss him when he got sent away, he thought, imagine adding another to his little family of crĂšchemates with this sort of timing. Typical.) If anyone was trailing after it was Obi-Wan, not Quinlan Vos.
âJealous, Chun?â came Quinlanâs voice a moment later. âI think you should get your eyes checked, honestly.â
âIâm not jealous,â Bruck spat, and Obi-Wan didn't need to open the door to see the sour, scrunched up face he was making. He thought it looked menacing. (Obi-Wan thought it made him look constipated. Bant had almost thrown up laughing, and Mon Calamari didnât even have a reflex for that.)
âForce, Chun,â Quin laughed, âIâm embarrassed for you, have you tried being less of a dickhead?â
Bruck made the tea-kettle sound that usually preceded throwing a punch. Obi-Wan hit the door-pad and rushed outside. Quinlan had caught Bruckâs fist in his hand and was laughing harder. âDude, is that it? Someoneâs been skipping his hand-to-hand.â
âHeâs been skiving to do more âsabre katas. He thinks thatâs what will draw in a Master.â someone said, cool and dry.
With a faint sense of alarm, Obi-Wan realised it had been him. He managed not to add, as though Iâm not living proof thatâs not the case.
They both looked over, Quin still grinning and Bruck going the sort of red-faced that clashed horribly with how pale his hair was. He yanked his hand free and stormed away without another word, which made it one of the friendlier interactions heâd had with him, of late.
Probably a good thing because he had several pointed comments locked and loaded, and heâd had a few moments recently where that sharpness of tongue had gotten him in trouble, even when he was trying to be good about the fighting â but no-one got to talk to Quinlan like that.
Unfortunately, it was kind of a long hallway, so they watched him leaving for a slightly awkward span of time. Quinlan snorted and draped himself over Obi-Wanâs shoulders, the smaller boy yelping as the unexpected weight threw him off balance. âWanna get midmeal out in the lower levels?â
âQuin, get off, you oversized tooka!â His shove was as bitter and black as it was effectual (that is, it was mostly sweetened milk and Quinlan didn't budge an inch). âI have an assignment due, I canât sneak out.â
âYou? My favourite little nerd? Left an assignment until the night before?â He shifted and then Obi-Wanâs escape attempt became more serious as Quin scruffed a hand through his hair. âThat doesnât seem likely.â
âItâs - stop it, Quin! - true! I mixed up my dates!â Heâd actually been trying to multi-task making plans with Quin and getting his notes cleaned up, and transposed some numbers wrong in his distraction. He just found it hard to look away when his friend was happy, and he smiled so bright, and the sun had turned his eyes all bronze-warm and layered and- and that was - it was normal to want to make your friends happy, that was all!
Suddenly overwhelmed by having Quinlan wrapped around him, he went limp, and rolled when Quin swore and dropped his dead weight. Popping back upright, he found his friend eyeing him with a worrying sort of consideration.
Obi-Wan drooped. âI heard what Bruck said.â he started, hoping to cut the whole thing short and save himself the trouble. âYou donât...you donât have to spend time with me if you donât want.â
Quinlan went very still. âWhat?â he said, sounding strangled.
Internally, he sighed, but obligingly hefted his feelings in a firm hand. âI said, itâs okay if you donât want to spend time with me. Youâre like...already a padawan. And really cool. And you know so many things, and youâre already going on missions and learning all this stuff that Iâll never â I mean, I just â IreallyadmireyoubutIdonâtwanttoholdyouback-â
His friend relaxed entirely and strolled forwards to catch him back in a headlock, shaking him firmly. âI donât do things I donât want to do, Obes. And I literally just asked you to sneak out with me. âFraid youâre stuck with me, my favourite little nerd.â
And if the headlock was a bit more like a really long hug, and Quinâs voice went soft at the end, and his whole self lit up gold and glowing tucked close beneath his arm â well, who was going to tell?
Hi! Can I request a Officer x female!Nurse reader during a zombie apocalypse? The Officer would be the stalker-ish, ïżŒpossessive type whoâs made it clear heâs protecting her from the others because sheâs one of the best at her job. But in reality, heâs just making excuses to be close to herïżŒâalways hovering when not ïżŒ patrolling the hospital. Could you possibly add likeâŠnon-consensual touching/kissing, definitely power imbalance, ïżŒmanipulation in the form of comfort. Maybe nsfw if you can?
A/N: started this a while ago but only just now got around to finishing it in a... "semi-decently" way.
Synopsis: you're a nurse healing those still alive after the start of the apocalypse; unfortunately for you, a certain annoying guard has made it his mission to have your undivided attention.Â
TW: noncon kissing, touching, feeling up, etc., intimidation, power imbalance, general sexual assault warnings, zombie apocalypse/infected theme
WC: 3600
âOh come on now, I didnât hit him that hard.â
âYou literally pummeled the man to the ground!â The underwhelmed attitude of the guard trailing behind made you dig your fingers into your temples. âHe lost his front tooth, Kain. And the guild wants MY head for it.âÂ
Pacing through the halls of the abandoned hospital, you make your way to the opposing wing, Kain following quickly on your heels.Â
âDonât honestly tell me youâre worried about the âguildâ. " Kain speaks, creating quotes with his fingers. âYouâre the only nurse they got whoâs actually qualified enough to do a damn decent job.They canât get rid of you, they need you too much.âÂ
You make a sharp turn into an old hospital room, throwing Kain off. He stumbles over himself to follow, while you quickly distract yourself with the limp body resting on a raised bed in the middle of the room. You hurriedly picked at the bloodied bandages of one of your fellow survivors, the mangled man out cold under the wool sheets as you began to inspect him. The process was like clockwork, being what most of your job had become now that you were stuck with flesh-eating monsters and a third of the human population left, most of which was crippled in some way or another.Â
 Kain peeks up from behind you, irritated yet curious as to what was more important than responding to him. His head popped up next to yours as he looked at the bandaged man, giving a bothersome frown.Â
âYou shouldnât have been talking to anyone about me, period. This all couldâve all just been avoided, Kain.â
Kain opens his mouth to speak, looking like an awed fish as you berate him.Â
âWho in their right mind cripples one of their own men?â You mumble under your breath, hoping he wont hear lest he throws a fit. "Now, canât you see Iâm working here? Youâre getting in my way.âÂ
You push past him to throw away the old gauze and stained bandages.Â
Kainâs constant look of mild amusement faded.Â
âYa shouldâve heard what he was sayinâ about you. Then, you might not feel that way.â
You avoided Kainâs sharp stare, pretending to not listen as you pulled open a drawer beside the hospital bed.Â
Lifting his eyebrows in suggestion, Kain rested his hands on the front of his patrol vest, continuing to chew his gum with feigned nonchalance. âLike a piece a meatâŠâ He muttered.
Clearing your throat you ripped open a new package of gauze with your teeth, avoiding Kain; Maybe itâd be best if you changed the topic.Â
âWell⊠What are you still doing here in the first place? I thought you were supposed to be at your new transfer by this morningâŠâÂ
You remembered primarily because you thought itâd be your first day of freedom.Â
Kain rubbed his nose with his thumb, trying to hide a wide grin that showed his dimples.
âIâve been stationed to protect the hospital for another six months.. Just found out this morning. Some other guy wanted to go andâŠthe guild commander thought my talents would be better off here.â Â
Your face dropped. The sliver of fragile hope you held onto, shattered. Finally, you thought, youâd be rid of the overbearing coos and humiliating social teasing, his invasive bullying-- the dream seemed to fizzle out like the end of a candle wick, slow and sad. You began to rewrap the survivorâs wounds, hands on autopilot while your stomach sank.
And like a switch, your annoyed tone was spat back at him.Â
âOkay?â You shrugged. Â
You had been Kainâs prime victim when picking meaningless fights for the past eight months, his presence like a wall of muscle in your path. But no more, you wouldnât sit and entertain his bullshit for another half a year.
âIf thatâs true, then nothingâs changed. Donât you have better things to do than annoy me?â You swat Kain away with your hands like a fly. âGo stand guard or something. Be useful.â
You pinned the end of the final bandage, rearranging the patients scratchy bedsheets. Without another word you began to walk away.
 Kain grunted in annoyance, watching you turn into the adjacent room across the hall to leave him in the dust.
âWell, you never know,â Kain shouted, running after you across the hallway. âYou might come up against a stray infected. I know you havenât had this set up for long, the doors hardly do anything to keep a draft from blowing through. What happens if Iâm not there quick enough? Youâd need someone much bigger, and much⊠stronger than you, to protect you.â
You let out an exasperated noise, recognizing the insult in his words. But Kain didnât mean it as an insult; he was thinking of other⊠things.Â
âBesides, you need protecting just from the things in here you canât handle, and I decide to offer my assistance-- at a zero cost.âÂ
You scoff again. âWhat do you mean âthings I canât handleâ?â You copy his previous quotation movement, half distracted by rummaging through a large cardboard box of old medical supplies.Â
Kain follows you inside the room, seeing your back turned to him next to an empry hospiral bed. A lightbulb went off over his head, his printless fingers grabbing the privacy curtain and pulling it. The curtain surrounding the bed, you, and him-- clouding the fluorescent lights from the hallway. The ones inside the hospital room flickered, barely making the guards face visible.Â
âSomething like this.âÂ
An arm traps you from behind, one of Kainâs scarred palms leaning on the wall next to your head. You turn around to look at him with a scowl, not yet realizing what he was trying.Â
From the corner of your vision you saw the mean glint in Kainâs eye.Â
A smug, egotistical smirk rested on his face.
âI can see it nowâŠ. some band of other survivors coming in, raidin' what they could and stumbling across you,â He pushed his dirty blonde hair back with his free hand, calloused fingers sticking out his glovelettes. âSo helpless in your dirty scrubs, scared and aloneâŠ.What would you do? Would you even be able to defend yourself?âÂ
He watched as your eyes shifted, trying to avoid him as you attempted to shove your way out. But he was a wall of muscle and pheromones, a light slap telling him to knock it off wasnât going to cut it this time.
And this, was exactly what you were trying to avoid.Â
Kain shoved your shoulder against the wall, pushing his nose against the sensitive front of your neck; it nearly made you grunt from surprise.Â
âAhâŠâ You felt him exhale, licking his lips against your jugular. âWhat a cute bitchâŠYou smell so fresh, So different than all the rotten corpses in here. Maybe we should take this one to go, huh boys? Iâm sure theyâd all like a turn.â Kain said to himself.Â
You try to swat at him again but he catches your other arm, wrenching it back behind you. "That's not funny, asshole!âÂ
Kain gave an angry laugh, your stubbornness testing the edge of his limits. His harshness and your violent panic ruined any playful mood left.Â
âYou know, you really donât understand how lucky you are; how much I care about you. Just trying to-- protect you.â Kain struggled to keep you compliant, and to keep his urges at bay. his eyes wildly flit between staring at your lips to your soft exhausted body, the one now in his hands, bulging from his fingertips. For a moment his attention seems to linger on the shallow movement of your chest, falling and rising with each worried breath. But it soon pulls back to your rageful glare, a harsh swallow coming from his throat.Â
âWhy wonât you just take my help? I want whatâs best for you, Don't you understand that...â He couldnât stop looking at your sweet lips, downturned into a frown-- a frown he wanted to kiss away.Â
In his mind, when he imagined kissing you he thought youâd be stunned at first-- but would quickly fall into his arms, holding onto him as if he was your lifeline.Â
âFuck it..â Kain murmured under his breath.Â
He didnât spare any time, knowing you'd put up resistance no matter how well he tried to swoon you. Leaning down to get his first taste of you, sweet kisses lapped at your lips before you came to realize what was going on. The curious, self-interested pecks to your lips were so cautious at the start, until Kainâs mouth began to grow lewd. He took your slack jaw as permission to greedily devour your tongue to the fullest. His mouth seemed to fit like a puzzle piece against yours, twisting upward to savor your mouth. You were surprised but not all shocked-- though, this was the first time he had tried to kiss you directly.Â
âKain,â He let go but swiftly kissed again under your chin, gliding down your jawbone to your ear. âFor the last time-- don't make me fucking hit you--!â
Kain drug his tongue up your skin, pinning your arm behind your back to shove you further against the wall; any closer and you'd be a part of it. He took in deep whiffs of your homey smell, of the sensation of your warm skin and its smoothness on his.Â
"What're you going to do about it? Gonna fight me off?" The thought made him give you a cheeky grin; it was almost too easy.
When was the last time he touched something so plush⊠so calming compared to the flesh wound that was what was left of the world? Even the sounds of your labored breaths made KainâŠexcited. When it came to your body pressed and aligned with his, he couldn't help but feel overly eager in wanting to push and press you flush against him.Â
âStop-! You canât do that here-- â
But with your writhing body and fingers digging into his scalp, he realized that doing such a feat would be harder than he imagined. Your days of carrying injured survivors into their beds and helping unload traincarts of medical supplies made you nearly a worthy rival in strength.Â
"Can't stop nowâŠ" you heard him mumble, a big, warm hand coming to grip your chin. He was above you, caging you in with the biceps you mocked were more well-formed than his brain. Your hand was still pinned behind you as he pushed his squishy chest against yours.Â
You dug in your pocket for one of the two needles you always kept on hand. You pulled out the one with a peeling sticker-- its purpose for telling the difference between the two. This particular syringe held enough to sedate a horse-- which, you complemented to Kainâs large size.Â
You held it up like a knife, test-squeezing a little bit of the serum out.Â
Kain was busy nestled into your neck one moment, and the next he wasnât. You were so sure he had forgotten about the hand you were raising, that you paid little attention to the one pinned behind you.Â
Without notice that he had even caught you, the guard tugged at the wrist behind your back, twisting it against the wall unnaturally. Your breath caught into your throat, body tensing as your forearm let out a crunched pop. A weak moan of agony came from your mouth, Kainâs hand that was once petting you possessively, now slowly taking the needle from your shaking fingers.Â
You tried to fight him, attempting to stab him then and there. But you were no match, not when your right arm was continuing to be crushed, the longer you tustled him for the syringe.
Kain lets out a triumphant laugh, throwing the needle behind him.Â
âNice trick; I didnât know you were such a flirt, nurse. How did you know I liked a little fight?âÂ
Kain doesn't hesitate to dig both hands into your back pants pockets, allowing you the grace of cradling your throbbing arm. He felt up what he could while removing the other syringe, and keys from your pocket.Â
âNow,â He started, pulling your head back toward the wall with a grip on your hair. âLetâs see this pretty mouth do what it was meant for.â
Kain practically suffocated you with his body, pinning you back as he slowly pushed his thumb into your mouth.Â
"Ahh-thole!" You tried to sound out.
Kain watched your plump lips open around his finger; you attempted to bite the digit invading your personal space, but Kain yoinked down on your lower jaw first. The officer pushed the pad of his finger against your tongue, sensations of the muscles smooth wetness making him shudder; your startled sounds of awe only spurring him on, the glint of drooling interest in his eyes shifting to one of excited admiration.Â
Your stomach sank as you saw the shift in his expression, the peak of his interest making him look like a dog in heat. You were afraid he might miss your lips and smash straight into your cheek. Kains thumb was quickly replaced with his tongue, slowly gliding against your lips as he bit their fullness. He tasted bitter, like thick smoke and faint tobacco.Â
Kain on the other hand, was finallyâŠfinally, getting to experience the sensation of your arousing mouth, the one he had fantasized about so many times. He fantasized about how they'd taste during your first kiss, while he ran his fingers against the dip of your back, how they'd look around his c--Â
Your relentless teeth made blood trickle from his bottom lip, surprising the guard as he let out a pained groan. But Kain was too stubborn, he wouldn't let you go just like that! He had gone too far now, he couldn't go back to the way things were-- he needed you, needed this.Â
But you felt so lewd, Kainâs forced kisses making a slew of wet sounds as he occasionally slowed to pull at your lips with his teeth for payback, leisurely grinding against whatever he could press up against. Lord, it was like a high from the heavens for him; your body, your smell, it was enveloping him in a joy he hadnât felt since... Well, since he could last remember.Â
Your knee came to push deep against the officerâs crotch. You could feel the shift in between his legs as you shoved as hard as you could.Â
Kain let out a muffled groan, separating from you for a moment. But he only returned with a bitter laugh, kissing you between revengeful bites.Â
"Sweet little nurse," Kain singsonged, looking at how you winced at the burn of raw bites left on your lips. Your feet shuffled underneath, twisting and turning to wriggle your knee deeper into his crotch. "How're you gonna fight off the big bad officer? Hm?"
Kainâs leg rammed between your thighs, forcing them apart. He dug the toe of his boots into the wall, positioning so you were practically sitting on his leg.Â
"Fuck you," you spat, hating the way he pulled at the back of your collar to lift your head back, making it easier to kiss you. "Eat shit and die, Kain. I'm not your fucking toy-!"
The officer giggled like a schoolboy, feeling a painfully intoxicating sting from your words. The anger and yearning made it harder for him to see straight.Â
"We'll see about thatâŠ!" He huffed, lifting your jaw to the sky. A long, wet stripe made its way down from your chin to your ear, a shudder leaving Kainâs mouth as he swallowed the salty tang of your skin.Â
You heard low chatter from the radio attached to his hip, his name repeated by a deep voice.
âOfficer K..ain.. four..⊠intrudersâŠ4--â The voice was cutting in and out, static making the message hardly discernible.Â
âShitâŠâ Kain huffed, kissing through words as the corner of his lip became smeared with blood. âWhy now-- for mm.. fuckâs sakeâŠ.â
Kainâs head fell low as he left your lips, hanging in frustration. You were gasping for breath as you turned your head to the side, dizziness coming in a small wave.Â
The surface of your skin felt hot, a sharp taste left in your mouth from Kain. The officer was currently licking over his lips, tasting the remains of your sweat and his own blood.Â
Your head throbbed; the sterile stench of the hospital clung inside your nostrils, thick coughs coming from the room over, your 'patient' likely still feeling the twinge of his insides bleeding out. How could you still be dealing with Kain's bullshit, while the world around you was continuing to be mauled and raped by the disease plaguing your species?Â
The officer was an effective distraction from your nursery duties, his grating voice interrupting your thoughts as he still clung to you.
âNurse, help me out,â He whined. âI canât go out there looking like this!" Cain threw his hands down, letting you go to your surprise. "Câmon what do I do? You're the expert.â
You saw what kain was referring to, his hand covering a bite of retaliation you left on his neck, and the crotch of his black pants billowing out in a restrained fashion.Â
âDear g-- Kain!â your immediate reaction was to shove kain back away from you, But the guard held a hand to his forehead, hardly lurching backward from your assault. You hit him afain, repeatedly punching at him to get him back for all thar had transpored. But kain merelt pushed his hair back to show his glistening forehead, barely holding up a palm to protect himself.Â
Kain chuckled wryly, groping at himself in a futile effort to make his erection less noticeable.Â
âThis is all your fault--! FuckingâŠAsshole--â You grunt, mumbling curses as you pushed at the man again. âYou donât have the time, anyway. Get out of here, go do your damn job.â Wiping your mouth, you look at his radio.Â
You were tempted to chew him out as he stood still, but Kain got to you first. Rubbing at your neck to get rid of his love bites, you fell prey to Kainâs harsh shove of your shoulders against the wall. He seemed to throw you around like a stuffed animal, his strengthÂ
 Kain grabbed your shoulders, shoving you against the wall again. You let out an involuntary âumphâ, as the officer pressed his flushed forehead against yours. His fingers reached for your chin again as you tried to jerk your head away.
âLook at me-- before I go,â His voice grew low and harsh as he whispered, the clear stomps of other officers clicking outside the patient room. âI suggest that if you donât want to be reprimanded by the guild--â Kain stopped momentarily, grinning as he imagined in his head. âCome to my room. Tonight.âÂ
â...Room?â You questioned. Ah right, all the officers got rooms to stay in, while the rest of you measly survivors had to sleep close together in tight quarters. "Like hell I'll do that. You're the reason they're on my ass, they think I told you to defend me!"
Kain frowns, dissatisfaction making him furrow his eyebrows.
"What was I supposed to do? Let that guy practically violate you with his words? I couldn't stand letting him do that." he clicked his radio off, annoyed by the continued static call of his name. "You, wouldn't have allowed that either. I know you, you would've unleashed far worse than I had; but, I saved you the trouble, and the ass beating."
"But--"Â
 "I know i know, you're still being 'reprimanded'," Kain gagged as he scrunched his fingers. "However, i could easily sway the guild council's opinion as a leading officer⊠in return for something, of course."
Your eyes narrow.Â
"And how would you do that? You're the one that caused this whole mess in the first place!"
 Kainâs mouth was left lingering open against your cheek as he tried to hold himself back.Â
"A few of the council members owe me some favors⊠I wouldn't mind cashing one in if it meant, a night with you."
The guardâs breath hitched, his damp cheek pressing against yours as you winced in disgust.
âSeriously? You're willingly playing into their corruption; disgusting.âÂ
Kain dug his hand into your hair, taking a deep inhale of it, ignoring your criticisms. He tried to press you up against him, as if your body wanted to give him physical affection.Â
"Take it or leave it. It's a much better choice than the tunnels, hm?"
That made you shudder. You doubted they'd throw you to the tunnels and catacombs of the city for something like this, but who's to say you're not one mistake too close to being zombie bate.
You were too stuck in the dread of what he was asking for. You knew he wouldnât be satisfied if you let him have you, even if it was just for a night; heâd always come crawling back for more, until he completely consumed you. But did you really want to deal with his bullshit if you didnât show up?
The radio chimed again, and Kain caught himself before he lashed out again, merely letting out an annoyed grunt.Â
âGot it?â He asked, pressing his knuckles against your jaw.
The guard didnât wait for an answer, instead squeezing your face with one hand and pushing a multitude of kisses on your bruised lips. You tightened your lips shut, trying to turn and grunting as he kissed and kissed and kissed, not a thought of pulling away-- until the radio snatched his attention again.Â
All of a sudden Kainâs hands were off of you, his bulky body had pushed past the privacy curtain, leaving it closed. You heard the door shut as he stormed out; shutting the door with a tight firmness that irked you. Letting out an exasperated sigh, you listened to his heavy military boots trudge down the hospital corridors, waiting for them to be completely silent.
That silence was quickly filled once again however, your mind snapping back into work mode as the dying man in the adjacent roomâs hospital bed began another violent coughing fit.Â
You shut kain out of your mind-- but in the back of your head, you mentally played what you felt would happen tonight if you took up his offer. Hell, what were you going to do with him?Â
Murder was starting to sound real tempting.
