In light of Anita Bryant's death I think we should also remember Thom Higgins, a true badass whose name is always tied to hers.
Yes, he's the fella who put a pie in her face on national TV.
Tumblr media
But this wasn't a one time thing for him -- being a badass, I mean. He also once pie'd an Archbishop (John Roach - who was one of the Catholics who fucked up one of the sexual abuse scandals the church had).
He's largely credited for inventing the term 'gay pride': "The term “gay pride” was invented here. Thom Higgins had been raised in the Catholic Church and decided to come up with a means of countering the negative energy coming out of the church. So he paired two of the deadly sins: gay and pride."
He was deeply midwestern -- "He was the kind of person who would breeze into a friend’s kitchen the morning after a party, put on a pot of coffee and start making everyone eggs"
He was an anti-war protestor, and the first person in Minnesota to be registered as a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War.
He wasn't perfect, but he did a lot of good in his life, and he was silly and puckish and loved pranks as much as he loved his activism.
He died 20 years ago of complications related to AIDS.
While you're crab raving that the Orange Juice witch is dead, spare a thought and raise a slice of pie to Mr. Higgins. More people should know about him.

Thank you so much to everyone who likes and reblogs, your feedback is appreciated 🤍 and I'm not taking requests right now, so if you have any ideas or concepts you want to share, feel free to send them in but know that I don't know when I'll be able to get to them!

The low hum of the television filled the cozy apartment as you and Lando sat on the sofa, nestled comfortably under a soft blanket as his hands absentmindedly traced patterns on your thigh. Lately, it was one of your favorite pastimes - catching up on a show after a long week and simply enjoying each other's presence without having the world around you.
Life with Lando was unexpectedly delightful. His infectious laughter and zest for life were contagious, and even the most mundane days seemed brighter with him around, no matter how many clients you had that day or how much reading you had to do before their next sessions. At the beginning, you couldn't wrap your head around how the way your routines still laced together despite the seemingly different responsibilities, but you cherished the balance you shared.
"Do you have a busy day tomorrow?", your boyfriend asked.
"I have 8 clients, as two of them already cancelled because they're sick, but I managed to adjust the schedule and hopefully I have some time to go to the bank and see about my mortgage payments", you said.
"And in that rearranged schedule, is there a possibility of you spending the night here so we can wake up together before you go be a boss lady?", he wondered as he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck, softly kissing the skin there.
"I have to be in the office at before 10 am, Lan, I can't have a lie in", you reasoned.
"I have to be up at 7 am to go on a run with Jon, so neither can I", he smirked, knowing he had all the reasons to convince you to stay, "we can have some breakfast together before you leave me".
"I guess I have time to pop home, change and get to work on time", you reasoned, agreeing with his plans.
"I'm glad you think that because my next step was going to kidnap you for the night - I'm talking locking the doors and throwing away the keys", Lando spoke.
Your laughs rubbled as Lando squeezed you tighter against him, basking in the warm feeling on his chest of having you for the rest of the night.
.
A few weeks later, Lando told you Max and Pietra would be in Monaco for a week since they hadn't spent some time together in a while.
"Do you know how your week is going to be? In terms of your schedule I mean", Lando mused, holding your waist as you stirred the food in the pot.
"I had some people move around from their usual schedule, so the weekdays end late but I don't have many appointments on Friday and I have Saturday off", you spoke.
"That's good, means we can spend a nice long weekend together", Lando smiled, kissing your shoulder before resting his chin there, "I'm not sure of all the plans yet but it’ll be fun! And they’re eager to meet you", he grinned, optimism lighting up his face.
"I'm excited to meet them too", you spoke, despite the one looming shadow. The thought of meeting Lando’s close-knit circle always brought a tinge of anxiety with it. His friends were used to seeing him as the carefree poster child of single life - never missing a party or the chance to get a little drunk. Hell, the idea that Lando would rather stay in on a Friday night, watching his girlfriend cook them dinner after spending the afternoon waiting for her to finish her online sessions would baffle Max and all of his friends.
And though Lando never seemed to mind, the idea of them questioning your relationship because of your age gnawed at your insecurity. Even when you were younger, the party scene wasn't your thing and as the years passed, it certainly didn't become it. You were fine with Lando enjoying himself whenever he wanted to and never once objected to that, but feared that his friends would question it.
"There's something on your mind, I can tell that", Lando spoke softly, "would you like to share it with me?".
"It's just...", you tried, knowing he would be able to tell you were lying and knowing that sharing this with him could ease your fears.
"Doesn't have to sound pretty or polished, I just want to know what is on your head", he encouraged softly.
"Maybe they won't want to spend time with me? They're coming here to see you and spend time with you, and there's always the possibility that they might now want to spend time with me", you let it out.
"Why do you think that?", he continued softly.
"Because I'm not hard-core, adrenaline seeking fun!", you added.
"Lovie, the plans we have are just enough fun for everyone, I didn't to do anything too hard-core and they don't either, so we'll be good and have plenty of fun together, yeah?", Lando assured, turning you around and kissing your forehead.
"You are starting to have a way with words", you mumbled, enjoying the feeling of his lips on your skin in such a protective manner, like no harm in the world could get to you if he was near.
"I catch on a thing or two you say", your boyfriend mumbled, kissing your lips slowly.
"I have to take my lunch to the office tomorrow, I don't have time to come home", you mumbled more to yourself than anything, taking a tupperware box from the cupboards so you wouldn't end up without your packed lunch.
"Pack two of them and I'll meet you in the office", Lando said like it was nothing.
"Sorry, what?", you asked again, afraid you had misheard him.
"You can pack two of them to go and I'll meet you for lunch tomorrow so you don't eat lunch all alone", Lando suggested.
"You don't have to", you reasoned.
"I know I don't, but I want to", Lando smiled, "the next couple of days are going to be busy for me and I need to fill up on time with you so my heart won't miss you as much".
He was ever the charmer and you still blushed at his words, not used to this no matter how many times he did it.
"Fine, but you can't mess up the crayons this time! You left one of them on the floor and I saw my life flash before my eyes when I stepped on it and nearly fell! No funny business in my office!", you joked.
"Does that mean we can't play Jenga and talk about my feelings? How dare you do that to me, woman?", Lando dramatised.
.
The first night of the week Max and Pietra would be spending in Monaco arrived quickly, and while the full day of sessions certainly kept your mind away from all of it, you found yourself at the door of your boyfriend's apartment waiting for him to get it.
"Hello, beautiful", Lando greeted as soon as he saw you, kissing your lips before letting you in, "let me take these", he said as he grabbed your bag and your coat.
"Thank you, I'm sorry I'm a bit late but the last session ran a bit longer than I expexted", you apologised, smoothing over your jeans and checking how you looked in the mirror - after the day you had, you couldn't expect much but you were pleasantly surprised that your hair was still bouncy and forgoing makeup was probably a good idea because you would have smudged it by now.
"You look beautiful as always, Y/N", Lando grabbed your attention, "and don't worry, take out is late too so you don't need to feel bad", he assured, guiding you with him to the living room where the noise was coming from.
"Guys, this is Y/N", Lando announced as they both welcomed you warmly, quickly asking you questions and letting you join in, preparing a drink for you.
"I'm usually heavy handed, but this one is proper, Y/N", he offered you before you took a sip, "I can fix a different one though!".
"It's good, it's good - hits the spot very nicely", you smiled, taking another sip before engaging in conversation.
When the food arrived, Lando asked you to join him in the kitchen to help him plate everything up and bring it to the dining table, opting to use the door closest to it so it would be easier.
As you crossed rhe hallway, you overheard Max and Pietra talking.
“Do you think it works?”, Pietra asked, “I mean, they seem happy, but Lando’s… well, Lando".
Max shrugged, “He’s crazy about her. Age doesn’t matter, does it? But yeah, never thought he’d settle, at least not like this".
You felt a small knot form in your stomach, but before you could dwell on it, Lando appeared at your side, his familiar warmth instantly reassuring as he placed his hand on the small of your back, “You alright?” he asked, noticing the brief flicker of uncertainty in your eyes.
“Yeah", you smiled, deciding in that moment that the security you had together was worth navigating any doubts from others.
As the evening continued, you noticed Max and P exchanging skeptical glances across the table - they're were known for their protective nature over Lando, Max is his bestfriend, so they are particularly wary of anyone close to their beloved friend.
Over the clinking of silverware and hum of conversations, Max finally spoke up, his tone casual but inquisitive, "so, how’s it really going, being with a guy who practically lives on a racetrack?”.
You felt Lando's reassuring nudge beneath the table, prompting you to respond with honesty, "It's definitely something else. Racing is such a demanding world, but we find balance by making time for each other away from it all. So far, it has worked out well".
P leaned back, observing the dynamic between the you, "there must be a lot of pressure, especially with so many eyes watching your every move".
Lando chimed in before you could respond, "Y/N handles it like a champ. Honestly, she’s the calm in my storm", he said, his eyes filled with admiration for you. There wasn't a day that you didn't handle it gracefully, whether it was a fan wanting to take a photo or a reporter wanting to know more than you allowed.
Max and P exchanged another look, this time softer and less guarded - little by little, they began to see what Lando meant by his earlier assurance that you kept him grounded.
As dinner progressed, the conversation turned to shared stories, with Lando guiding the discussion to include moments from your relationship - your mutual love for travel, how you introduced him to the joy of quiet moments, and even shared a humorous tale of your early dates, laughter erupting when he recounted an incident involving mistaking your office with the one next to yours, Lando accidentally entering the lawyer's waiting room with a massive bouquet of flowers and passes to golf.
Max's initial skepticism gradually melted away as he watched you interact. Lando's attentiveness was unmistakable - how he would lean in to catch your words over the din of conversations, or how his eyes crinkled in genuine amusement at your stories. He noticed how effortless and natural your connection seemed, a seamless blend of companionship and partnership.
By the time dessert came around, Pietra seemed convinced, "Alright, alright. I can see what everyone’s been talking about. You both really seem to understand each other in a way that's rare".
"You say that like we don't!", Max complained.
"Shut it, Max, you know what I mean", she mumbled.
Feeling the warmth of acceptance flood the room, Lando laid his hand over yours on the table, grinning with relief and contentment, "Told you she was amazing,” he said, playfully raising his eyebrows.
Max chuckled, raising his glass, "Okay, I admit defeat, I'm not sure we are like this!".
It was in that moment that you realized, the whispers of doubt that had once lingered were no match for the clarity of Lando’s affection. Together, you were creating a narrative all your own, one that defied stereotypes and embraced your unique bond.
.
As the days passed after the gathering, the glow of being surrounded by Lando’s friends began to fade, replaced by the nagging unease that had settled in your mind. You found yourself replaying the conversations from that night, the laughter, the glances, and especially Max's comment, which you still couldn’t quite shake off despite the way the night ended.
One evening, after a long day at work, filled with sessions and schedule arrangements thanks to the flu season, you sat on the sofa, scrolling through social media.
Your heart sank as you stumbled upon a headline featuring Lando. The article speculated about his relationships and how he was often deemed the ultimate bachelor, writing that they believed he wasn't about to change his ways. The more you read, the harder it became to ignore your worries.
Later that night, Lando arrived from his photoshoot, his laughter echoing as he stepped through you door. He instantly brightened the room with his presence, but you struggled to muster so much as a smile.
“Hey! Long day?”, he asked, tilting his head slightly, concern etched across his features as he took a good look at you.
“Just tired", you replied with a half truth. As you settled down, you felt the weight of the unspoken words pressing on your chest, knowing that sooner or later they would find their way out.
“Is everything okay?”, Lando probed, sensing the shift in your mood. Even when you had a bad day, the reception he got wasn't like this.
You hesitated, your thoughts swirling, Do you ever think about what people say… about us?”.
Lando paused, confusion washing over his face, "What do you mean?”.
“I don’t know,” you sighed, looking down, "Like, the way the media talks about you. Or how your friends might see us. What if they don’t accept me? They might think I’m not right for you… for your image".
Lando’s expression shifted from confusion to concern, “Why would you think that?”.
“Because it’s true!”, you almost spat, frustration bubbling to the surface, "You’re this young, popular and successful Formula One driver, and I’m just… well, me. What if they think I’m just an older woman trying to latch onto your fame? What if they don’t see how happy we are?”.
“Stop it", he said gently, but firmly, “you’re not ‘just’ anything, or someone. You’re incredible, and I’m with you because I want to be. Age is just a number and it doesn’t define how meaningful our relationship is, not to me and it shouldn't be to anyone".
But your doubts resurfaced, relentless as you continued with your voice rising with each word, “But what if your family doesn’t feel the same? What if they think I’m not good enough for their sweet boy? I just… I can't help but overthink it. I love you, and I’m terrified of losing you".
Lando stepped closer, taking your hands in his and grounding you with his touch, something you explained to him early on that worked wonders for you, “I can’t control what others think, but my family will see how happy you make me. They care about my happiness, not just some number or date".
“But what if they don’t?”, you whispered, your voice trembling. Over the years, you could remember the times where you told patients exactly that, that their mind was looking for survival so that's where it took them.
“They will!", Lando stated, his grip tightening slightly, “Look, it’s not going to be like this forever. People talk, and yes, media can be ruthless, but what matters is how we feel about each other. And I feel lucky to have you in my life. Please trust that, my love".
You looked for reassurance in his eyes as slowly his words began to soothe the turmoil, but the fear was still there, lurking just beneath the surface.
“I just don’t want to complicate things for you", you said softly.
Lando brushed his fingers against your cheek, a gentle smile breaking through your anxiety, "you’re not complicating things. You’re adding to my life in a way I never knew I needed. Can we just take this one step at a time together?”.
Lando pulled you into a warm embrace, and for a moment, the weight on your heart lightened. Taking a deep breath, you reminded yourself to stay in the moment and be there.
“I’ll try", you finally spoke against his shoulder, feeling comfort in his unwavering support.
“I promise I'm not going anywhere", he whispered back, wrapping you tighter in his arms, "we’re in this together".
"Thank you", you mumbled, pecking his lips softly.
"You don't ever need to thank me, not for stuff like this or anything else, we're in this together, lovie", Lando kissed your forehead, "besides, if you ever dump me, I'll have to find a good psychologist to help me through it and you're the best one, so that's another valid point for us to stay together", he chuckled, wanting to get a giggle out of you.
Smiling when he succeeded, Lando squeezed you tighter against him, "never doubt that we were meant to be, Y/N, never".

The visible camp and sleeping setups in Baldur's Gate 3 make no sense for many reasons, but the one I'm focused on now is... where did all of this stuff COME from?
Presumably there's some in-universe explanation about fully furnished tents that you can summon or a magical bag or whatever, but I don't particularly care, honestly. Handwaving the exact mechanics in favor of fun fic ideas.
It doesn't make much sense for all of the characters to have even magical camping gear at the ready, especially at the beginning of the game: Lae'zel was part of a larger force and may not have been in charge of supplies in any fashion, and Astarion is a city boy. As far as I can remember and understand it, Gale and Shadowheart are the magical ones, and Shadowheart is the only one between them who was actually intentionally traveling on a quest. Wyll and Karlach having camping gear, yes, I buy that (although it easily could have been wrecked by or lost during all the shit that they've been through), but you also meet them both a little later than the others.
It is FAR funnier to me to imagine the party, post-crash at the beginning, being absolutely WRECKED. Everyone is covered in mind flayer ship slime, blood, and ash. Shadowheart's eyeliner is dripping down her face and there are guts in her hair. Astarion when you first meet him is a MESS who tried to fix himself up after tripping into a river. Lae'zel is missing half her clothes, perhaps, due to the fighting on the ship earlier, and she's making the awkwardness everyone else's problem.
They have no food (Lae'zel suggested cannibalism as a joke, but no one could tell that it was a joke) and one water skin. Their armor and weapons are damaged or stolen. Everyone is resigned to sleeping in the dirt, because the only other option is sharing Shadowheart's ONE single-person tent and bedroll between them all. A cuddle pile seems like a potentially deadly option.
And then they all meet Gale. And I know that he's Mr. Stay In My House For A Year Post-Break-Up, so he doesn't really seem like a camping guy, but it's really funny to me to imagine everyone being Not Very Happy to have Gale joining them (his robes are actually cleanish somehow, what the fuck, that's not fair, fucking wizards), until he starts summoning plush furniture and cooking pots out of some pocket dimension and heating water for people so they can wash their hair. And he COOKS. Holy shit. Everyone's favorite party member immediately.
Yes, it is revealed later on all of the (possibly dubiously real) tents and luxurious cushions and blankets and mirrors and atmospheric magical torches that Gale is summoning WERE all part of former magical romantic fuck-pads from his days with Mystra, so there is a non-zero chance that Gale fucked or got fucked by a goddess on every single piece of furniture in the camp. ("They're CLEAN!" Gale insists. "I WASHED THEM.") But at that point no one is willing to give up their throw pillows or sexy furs or the bathtub that could fit two people, so they all just live with it.

"Everyone gets along because there is a threat", yadda, yadda, yadda.
Bullshit. This is not how real scenarios work and it has never been.
russia is a global threat right now, but the world can't decide between sucking its dick and politely asking it to stop because the mere thought of confronting russia makes it shit its pants. The very few countries who scream into the void, warning about russia and telling people to wake the fuck up are ignored and viewed as crazy doomsayers.
This is how real crisis looks like. Nobody works together against a threat because people are spineless cowards who would rather throw their neighbors under the bus than fight. Nobody learned anything from history lessons, books or survivors.
The only difference in a fantasy game is that NPCs end up having more spine and moral principles than real people.
But in Veilguard, everyone gets along because they have NO reasons not to.
Davrin has no real reasons to beef (if you can call it that) with Lucanis because he is a Grey Warden. He knows where Grey Wardens take their conscripts from. He knows that Grey Wardens regularly recruit mages who are a lot more likely to get possessed if they're not careful. Working with an assassin who knows friend from foe isn't the worst thing ever. One subtle warning about taking action if demon takes over is enough.
Taash has no reasons to antagonize Emmrich aside from horrible writing.
Neve gets along with Bellara because writers gave Bellara a happy childhood with her family and turned Dalish artifacts into Apple store gadgets, while refusing giving Neve any nuance as the citizen of Tevinter.
Emmrich gets along with everyone because he is generally a kind and well-mannered person who doesn't like to stir the pot.
Any companion who could have had a sharp edge, got that edge ripped off and a cartoon band-aid slapped on.
Never doesn't deal with people who don't know about Shadow Dragons (and they probably shouldn't know much because when you work against a powerful government who wants to destroy you, you shouldn't show off), so she constantly has to deal with the fact that people assume she is a noble or a slave-owner because she is from Tevinter; that they don't know that she had to literally fight against being enslaved herself because in Tevinter mages who refuse to use their power to dominate others are turned into slaves as well.
Bellara isn't conflicted about working with humans, especially Tevinter humans at all. She seems to never have dealt with oppression her whole life and she is super quick to write off Cyrian as evil even though there are clear SIGNS that he was tricked and controlled by the Forgotten One. But no, she never thinks "He is still there, I can save him, I won't lose him again", she goes straight to "Oh nooo my brother is dead to me".
Emmrich doesn't get burdened by people reacting to him and his sincere intention to help with fear, because of all the sinister rumors revolving around necromancers and Nevarra. He isn't hurt by people assuming that he loves death and things dying. If even he openly admitted that he is deeply terrified of death, they wouldn't have believed him.
Harding isn't burdened by the revelation she learned and what to do with it. Should she storm her way to the Orzammar? Should she talk to fellow surface dwarves and reconnect them with their history? Should she never breach the subject because the truth hurts and it's too much pain, too much anger to live with - and maybe she shouldn't let other dwarves go through it?
We don't even have a party divided on what to do with Solas (kill or talk it out)? Even though it's logical to have companions who are convinced that Solas has to die and those who think that he is misguided and can be convinced to stop.
Also, there are NO companions whose background, viewpoints and attitude would rile other companions up. We have no controversial characters whose interactions with the crew Rook would have been forced to intervene in unless they want their team to start throwing hands with each other.
We could have had Imshael - to give EVERYONE a reason to worry, and argue, and have conflicts. We could have had an ex-Venatori Calpernia bashing heads with Neve, Bellara, and Emrich. We could have had a Qunari spy who'd make Lucanis' dagger-arm itch.
If writers didn't forget about the Architect, we could have had an intelligent Darkspawn companion Davrin could be losing his shit around.
Or heck, we could have had a former red templar who got partially (magically?) reversed from their mad state and is now not a mindless beast, but still is on a borrowed time, probably needed due to their strength, but barely tolerated by anyone.
Who is fanatical, mostly because they have to believe they made a noble sacrifice, that it all was for the greater good -- because the truth scares them to their core. Who gives Lucanis shit for being an assassin and abomination, who bashes necromancy, and mages, and talks about purity, while downplaying their own actions as "Yes, these are my sins, but they are for the better world, and I would be proud to die for that world unlike you heathens who would rather ruin it than repent for your flaws". The kind of companion you'd initially want to do nothing with, but who can reveal an entire gallery of fucked up contradictions and trauma if you decide to keep them around.
However, writing such companions takes skill, courage, and requires absence of greedy corpo "we don't want to scare away new players with all that moral nuance" thinking.

Tumblr media
The apartment grows silent after everyone leaves and the door is shut behind them, the only sound accompanying your thoughts being the water running in the kitchen sink, the song lowly playing through the radio and your boyfriend’s occasional, quiet humming as he helps you dry off the dishes and put them away into their respective cupboards. Not a single word was shared between the two of you since the guests departed your new place, your thoughts running a thousand miles per hour, eyes hypnotizing the tap as you focus on washing off all the food and grease remains off your cutlery. Your brain is buzzing with the memories of the past couple of hours, each moment replaying in the back of your head once, twice before it moves to another one, trapping you in an endless cycle of motion bouncing against the walls of your skull.
You relive the whole evening again.
The sound of the doorbell ringing, a yelled-out “Surprise!” landing into your ears as the little crowd materializes at your doorstep. The kisses pressed to your cheeks, the potted plant forced into your hands, the kettle your boyfriend’s sister drags inside and places onto your kitchen counter without even asking you, plugging it in. The image of your boyfriend’s dad pressing Play on your old, beaten-up radio, the grin he sends you as he admires your empty apartment.
The bottle of wine your boyfriend puts into your hold when you finally find a place to put the plant down, the soft, apologetic smile sent your way as he kisses the corner of your mouth. The sight of 3 pairs of shoes waiting next to the door, the sound of their socked feet shuffling across the floor.
The side-hug his mother brings you into, her sweet words landing into your ears. “You made it look so pretty and homey,” she says.
You reply that the apartment is still half-empty and looks a little naked. She tells you it’s nothing a few picture frames won’t fix, and his sister suggests getting a colorful rug for your living room to brighten the space up a bit. You nod to her words, taking them all in.
You’re not used to all of this.
People visiting you, people throwing you a housewarming party. People caring enough about your comfort to bring you kitchen appliances you lack and asking you if there’s anything more you need that their son forgot to mention when they asked.
You’re not used to so much care. So much tenderness. To a family so loving their care feels kind of overbearing to your small, fragile heart.
“Are you mad at me?” Sunwoo asks through the endless stream of your thoughts, making you look up from the kitchen sink. You forgot he was here– but then again, where would the dishes be magically disappearing into if not his hands?
The question shocks you. Not because you don’t expect him to ask– just because you don’t really expect your own answer.
“No,” you shake your head, voice a little hoarse. Your eyes burn with emotion, turning into water pools begging to be tipped over if you don’t pay enough willpower to make the streams stop. You bite at your lower lip.
It doesn’t help.
“Then why are you crying?” he asks.
There’s no use stopping it now. There’s no use refusing the apartment that’s now warm from the body heat it received from all the people visiting it this evening. There’s no use rejecting something you never knew you wanted– something you never knew you needed.
“Look, I’m sorry. I know you said you didn’t want anyone to visit for a bit before you get used to the new apartment and all, and you also wanted to have it fully done before anyone else saw it, but my parents insisted, and–”
“Thank you,” you utter out silently, like a prayer, making him stop in his tracks.
It’s only been a few months since you and Sunwoo started dating. Right from the start, the boy knew it would be different with you. He wouldn’t say it was difficult– no, loving you has always been easy for him– but he knew that he had to have much more patience with you.
His love is patient when he listens to your requests and boundaries. When he listens to you cry and picks up your calls even in the middle of the night, staying up with you until early morning just so you wouldn’t feel alone during your sleepless moments. Sunwoo’s love is patient when he gently holds you and kisses you slowly, setting the pace just right. His love is patient when he helps you pick out an apartment that’s just right for you– with the right size, location, on the right floor, not once thinking of his own convenience.
He always listens– just not this once.
Somehow, you can’t find it in you to be mad at him.
You used to think you wanted the world to be quiet for a while. To stop– to leave you alone so you could breathe. You wanted your own place for yourself– your own space, uninvaded by anyone else, stranded from any contact. You used to think you don’t want guests over or family members helping with the move– not that the effort was made anyways.
You used to think you wanted a place for one– a quiet nook to bring you comfort, four silent walls to make you calm. A bedroom to make you sleep soundly, a living room with nothing but a TV and a sofa to keep you company. A kitchen to make food and a table to eat it at before you get off for work. That’s what you wanted.
But after the evening is over and your boyfriend’s family leaves the walls echoing with laughter, the radio playing lowly in the background, tea made from the new kettle waiting on your coffee table, steam warming up the place with gentle cinnamon, your heart squeezes on itself at the realization of just how wrong you were.
Sunwoo turns the water off as he walks closer to you, enveloping you in a tight hug. Your hands are dripping water up to your forearms, making wet puddles glisten onto the tiles of your kitchen floor, yet he doesn’t mind stepping his socks in and having your arms sneak around his waist, all your built-up emotion releasing as he gently rocks you to the beat of the music in the background– action something akin to reaching for your soft, tender heart into your ribcage and gently holding it in his palms, protecting it and keeping it safe.
You never knew you were made for love like this.
You never knew you wanted two pairs of arms holding you to them, the smell of Sunwoo’s cologne clogging up your nose. You didn’t know all you needed was his presence to doze off on evenings that are difficult– a garden in his soul made for you to sleep safely. You never knew the sound of his voice was enough to fight off thunder and make sunlight cut through the clouds, like the sweet chirping of birds waking up in the morning.
You never knew you wanted a place that’s a walking distance from your boyfriend’s– just in case either of you wanted to quickly come over. You didn’t know you wanted a bedroom with soft sheets in it to cuddle in with someone, beams of sunlight dripping into the space through the blinds in the mornings caused by the location of the windows being towards the east. You didn’t know you wanted a living room decorated with gifted house plants and picture frames filled with people you care for the most.
You didn’t know that a kitchen is more than just a place to cook in. You now realize, amongst all the other things, that your kitchen is now also a space for shared meals, chatter and a bottle of wine opened after a long day at work.
Sunwoo’s low voice keeps humming the familiar song into your ear, rocking you from side to side. The dishes are long forgotten and your worries disappear like the last remains of rain puddles left outside after a storm on a sunny day.
The gentle, patient love Sunwoo has for you slowly slips into your heart, mending all the damaged pieces back together and opening up your eyes to so many more things you wanted to stay blind to. You were patient for long enough, though– and you finally see it, right there in front of you, tangible and believable– after all of the love you put out into the world selflessly, tirelessly, it finally came back to you.
And it will stay.
Your new apartment– although you live alone– is a place for love and kindness. A new chapter for new memories, each one brighter than the other. This place is for you to come back to after a long day to rest your limbs and soul in the quiet comfort of it all. This place is made for two people that turn a simple house into a home.
This kitchen is not just for cooking food and heating up leftovers over a cup of coffee during lunchtime. Kim Sunwoo and his endless love show you that a housewarming party is nothing to be scared of if you don’t have an anxious, quiet voice in your ear constantly telling you that there will always be people waiting on the side to somehow ruin your special day for you.
This kitchen is for whispered conversations over sleepy mornings during the weekday. This kitchen is for making pancakes after making love, two arms sneaking around your waist from behind, naked chest pressed against your back. This kitchen is for washing the dishes together, a smiley boy helping you with even the simplest task. This kitchen is for laughter when you burn an omelet or overseason your food, trying out new meals. This kitchen is for matcha in the evenings, a worried pair of eyes rushing you to sleep instead.
This kitchen is for love trapped between four walls, with no way for it to get out and disappear into the wind.
But tonight, most of all, you realize–
This kitchen is for dancing.

Hi Seluney! I love your fics, they are tiny highlights in my day so thank you for sharing!
Here is some fluff (if you are interested by that prompt of course!) to think about!
A lot of the party members have very complicated or tragic ties to their family, to say the least! Karlach's parents are beloved but dead, Githyanki don't have the notion of family and Lae'zel mentions not knowing what happened to the others who hatched with her, Astarion and his "siblings"?? Then you have living (or not depending on how your playthrough goes YIKES) parents with Wyll and Shadowheart and it's very painful in another way! (And then you have Gale, who is the only one having an awesome relationship with his mom, you go Gale!)
So what about the companions of your choice being "adopted" by their inlaws (be it a huge extended family or something small) who are very normal loving people and just love Tav's partner. Enjoy some domesticity, family gatherings, homecooked meals and bad dad-jokes, you fools!
After all the game put everyone through, the party members deserve nice things! (AND SO DO YOU SELUNEY!)
Ahhhh so wholesome !!! I love it !! Thank you so much for your support and you deserve nice things too - which I hope to have done with your ask xox

Karlach:
The sun was dipping low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the sprawling farmland as you and Karlach approached your family’s homestead. The landscape was dotted with fields of crops, and the sound of livestock filled the air. The farm had always been a haven of activity and life, with your parents at its heart, embodying the spirit of hard work and resilience.
As you walked up the well-trodden path toward the house, you could sense Karlach’s excitement mingled with a hint of apprehension. She had heard countless stories about your family and their boisterous, hands-on lifestyle. Now, she was about to experience it all firsthand.
You gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “Just remember, they’re a bit rough around the edges, but they mean well. They’ll love you if you show them your genuine self.”
Karlach grinned, her eyes gleaming with determination. “Don’t worry, love. I’m ready for whatever they throw at me.”
When you reached the front porch, you could already hear the sounds of your parents bustling around. They were in the middle of preparing dinner, the hearty aroma of something delicious wafting through the air. You gave Karlach a quick squeeze before opening the door and stepping inside.
“Ma! Pa! I’m home!” you called out, your voice carrying through the house.
The commotion in the kitchen paused for a moment before your parents emerged from the back, their faces lighting up with warm, if somewhat skeptical, smiles.
Your mother, a robust woman with a no-nonsense demeanor, and your father, a burly man with a heart of gold, both took in the sight of Karlach with keen eyes. Your mother’s gaze softened immediately, while your father’s expression turned into one of open curiosity.
“Ah, you must be Karlach!” your mother said, her voice rich with warmth. “We’ve heard so much about you.”
Karlach stepped forward confidently, extending her hand. “It’s lovely to meet you both. I’ve heard a lot about this place—can’t wait to see it all.”
Your father’s eyes twinkled as he took Karlach’s hand with a hearty handshake. “Well, you’ve come to the right place. This farm’s got more life in it than any city could ever hold.”
Your mother, not to be outdone, pulled Karlach into a surprisingly fierce hug. “Come on in, dear. You’re just in time to help prep for supper. We’ve got a lot to catch up on.”
Karlach beamed and followed your parents into the kitchen, where she was immediately put to work. The kitchen was a whirlwind of activity—dough being kneaded, vegetables being chopped, and pots clanging. Karlach’s enthusiasm was evident as she rolled up her sleeves and dove right into the chaos, her laughter ringing out as she helped with the preparations.
At first, your parents watched in astonishment as Karlach fit right in with their rough-and-ready approach. She didn’t hesitate to get her hands dirty, joining in with the farm chores, mucking out stables, and even helping with the repairs around the barn. Her fearlessness and exuberance won them over in no time.
Your mother, watching Karlach handle the chores with a grin, leaned over to you and whispered, “You know, she’s got a good head on her shoulders. I like her. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty.”
Your father, catching a glimpse of Karlach covered in a bit of mud after helping with the pigs, clapped a hand on your shoulder. “She’s got spirit, that one. You should take a page out of her book. None of that fancy city stuff for you. More like Karlach—down-to-earth and tough.”
You chuckled, appreciating their approval and the way they had taken Karlach into their fold so quickly. “I’ll keep that in mind, Pa.”
As the evening progressed, the meal was served, and the conversation flowed easily. Karlach charmed everyone with her stories of adventure and her easy-going nature. Your parents, who had initially been skeptical about anyone who wasn’t tied to the farm’s way of life, had fully embraced Karlach as one of their own.
When the night drew to a close and the stars began to sparkle above, your parents gathered around Karlach, offering her their best wishes and a promise that she was always welcome on the farm.
Your mother placed a hand on Karlach’s shoulder with a smile. “You’ve made quite the impression, dear. You’re part of the family now. Don’t be a stranger.”
Karlach’s eyes shone with genuine emotion as she looked at you, then back at your parents. “Thank you. I feel right at home here.”
As you walked hand-in-hand with Karlach through the now-quiet farm, you felt a profound sense of contentment. Your family had welcomed her with open arms, and their acceptance and love were palpable.
Karlach leaned in closer, her voice soft and full of affection. “Your family is amazing. I never expected to fit in so well.”
You smiled, squeezing her hand gently. “I knew they’d love you. You’re perfect just the way you are.”
And with that, you both enjoyed a serene evening under the stars, knowing that Karlach had truly found a place where she belonged, alongside you and the family who had embraced her with open hearts.
Minthara:
The bustling streets of Baldur’s Gate were alive with activity as you and Minthara navigated through the city, heading toward your home. The contrast between the vibrant, chaotic city and the serene atmosphere of your family’s house was always a bit jarring, but today was especially significant. Minthara had been both eager and apprehensive about meeting your two fathers, and you could sense her anxiety.
As you approached the well-kept house, you could see the warm glow of lanterns spilling out into the street. The scent of freshly baked bread wafted through the open windows, mingling with the distant sounds of city life. Your heart swelled with anticipation; this was an important moment, and you hoped it would go smoothly.
You glanced at Minthara, offering her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. They’ll love you. Just be yourself.”
Minthara, dressed in her usual dark, elegant attire, adjusted her posture nervously. “I know this is a significant moment, but I can’t help feeling uneasy.”
In her defence your fathers were the absolute epitome of what she was raised to think lesser of, two male seldarine drow. But that was her old life, her old beliefs. You had changed her.
You squeezed her hand gently. “My dads are different. They understand what it means to be exiled, and they’ve always been kind-hearted. They won’t judge you.”
With a deep breath, Minthara nodded, and you led her up the path to the front door. You knocked, and the door swung open to reveal your two fathers, both drow with an air of quiet dignity and warmth.
“Welcome home!” your fathers greeted, their smiles broad and genuine. They took in Minthara’s presence with a mix of curiosity and kindness.
Your father, the more talkative of the two, extended his hand with a welcoming gesture. “Ah, you must be Minthara. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. We’ve heard so much about you.”
Minthara hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand, her nerves palpable. “Thank you for having me. I’m… I’m not sure what to expect.”
Your other father, a bit more reserved but equally warm, placed a reassuring hand on Minthara’s shoulder. “We’ve heard about your exile, you poor thing. Please, make yourself comfortable. You’re safe here.”
Minthara’s eyes widened in surprise as she looked between the two of them. She had been expecting hostility or at least a cold reception, but the sincerity in their words and their welcoming gestures took her aback.
As you all moved into the living area, your fathers quickly made Minthara feel at home, offering her a seat by the fire and making small talk. They inquired about her journey, her experiences, and made an effort to ensure she felt at ease.
You noticed Minthara's initial unease gradually melting away as your fathers continued to dote on her. They served her food, asked about her preferences, and seemed genuinely interested in making her feel comfortable.
At one point, your father, noticing Minthara’s hesitation, began to regale her with stories of your childhood. He wanted to ensure she felt included and appreciated, regardless of her background.
Minthara, caught off guard by their kindness, tried to maintain her composure but struggled. She was unaccustomed to such genuine hospitality from drow who were not aligned with Lolth. She found herself being fussed over, with your fathers offering her more attention than you had anticipated.
You could see Minthara’s confusion and discomfort as she tried to navigate this new dynamic. She kept glancing at you, her eyes reflecting a mix of disbelief and discomfort. “I didn’t expect this. Why are they being so kind to me?”
You smiled warmly at her, understanding her surprise. “They know what it’s like to be cast out and exiled. They have a deep sense of empathy for anyone who’s been wronged, and they see past our differences. They genuinely want you to feel welcome.”
As the evening wore on, your fathers continued to make Minthara feel like a part of the family. They included her in conversations, invited her to join in family traditions, and even showed her some of their favorite recipes, explaining them with great enthusiasm.
By the end of the night, Minthara was visibly more relaxed. She had come to terms with the fact that your fathers were not only accepting but incredibly supportive. She found herself enjoying the evening, feeling a sense of belonging that she had not anticipated.
As the night drew to a close and you all said your goodbyes, Minthara pulled you aside, her eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and confusion. “I didn’t know what to expect, but they’ve been wonderful. I feel… I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like I’ve been given a chance I didn’t think I’d ever have.”
You gently squeezed her hand, your heart swelling with affection. “I’m glad they could show you that kindness. You deserve to feel welcomed and loved.”
Minthara smiled, her gaze softening as she looked at you. “Thank you for bringing me here. I didn’t know I could find this kind of acceptance. It means more to me than I can say.”

Lae'zel:
You and Lae'zel approached the small, secluded home where your parents lived. The quiet serenity of the surroundings was in stark contrast to the chaotic and tumultuous world that Lae'zel was accustomed to. Your heart pounded with a mixture of excitement and nervousness; this was the moment when Lae'zel would meet the parents who had rescued you from the harsh confines of the creche.
You had often spoken of your parents' pacifist and spiritual beliefs, but you knew that experiencing them firsthand might be a shock for someone as battle-hardened as Lae'zel. The journey had been long, but the sight of your parents' humble dwelling at the end of the path was both comforting and reassuring. You took a deep breath and gave Lae'zel a reassuring glance.
As you approached the door, you could hear the gentle strains of a melodic chant, a common practice in your parents’ daily rituals. You knocked softly, and after a moment, the door creaked open to reveal your mother, her face illuminated with a warm, welcoming smile.
“Welcome, dear one,” she said, her voice soft and soothing as she bowed to Lae'zel “You must be Lae'zel. I am so pleased to meet you.”
Lae'zel, always one for directness and formality, gave a respectful nod, her eyes scanning the peaceful surroundings with curiosity.
“Greetings,” she replied, her tone slightly reserved. Not entirely sure what to make of the Githyanki, she was covered in crystal necklaces and patterned robes - she had never seen a monk like this, if they were even monks.
Your mother stepped aside to let you and Lae'zel into the house. Inside, the space was filled with calming colors, soft lighting, and an array of spiritual symbols, incense and artifacts. The atmosphere was imbued with a sense of tranquility that seemed almost otherworldly compared to the harsh realities of the Githyanki creche.
Your father, who had been meditating in a corner, stood up and approached with a gentle smile. His presence was calm and serene, embodying the spiritual essence that defined your upbringing.
“Welcome, Lae'zel,” he said, extending a bow in greeting. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Lae'zel bowed firmly but with a hint of confusion in her eyes. She observed the peaceful surroundings and the serene demeanor of your parents, trying to reconcile it with the chaotic and violent nature of their offspring.
As you and Lae'zel settled into the cozy sitting area, your mother offered tea and various calming herbs. The conversation began slowly, with your parents asking Lae'zel about her experiences and interests, their curiosity genuine and untainted by judgment.
“So, Lae'zel,” your mother began gently, “what is it that you cherish most about your travels and experiences?”
Lae'zel, momentarily taken aback by the question, responded with cautious enthusiasm. “I value strength and discipline. My experiences in battle have shaped me into who I am today.”
Your father nodded thoughtfully. “Strength is indeed an important aspect of life. However, it is also crucial to find balance and peace within oneself. We believe that the universe guides us, and our actions shape our karma.”
Lae'zel listened with a mixture of intrigue and skepticism. “I understand the importance of balance, but my path has always been one of combat and survival. It is difficult to see how such ideals would fit into that world.”
You could see the slight discomfort in Lae'zel’s posture as she struggled to understand the philosophical approach of your parents.
After a moment, she turned to you with a questioning glance. “How did such calm and spiritual individuals produce someone as…”
“Violent and chaotic?” you finished, smiling wryly. “I’ve often wondered the same thing.”
Your mother laughed softly, a melodic sound that seemed to fill the room with warmth. “Our beliefs guided us to raise you with compassion and understanding, but we also recognize that each individual’s path is unique. We honor the journey you have undertaken, even if it diverges from our own.”
Your father added, his voice gentle but firm, “Everyone’s path is a reflection of their soul’s journey. The balance you seek and the battles you fight are all part of the cosmic dance. We accept and love you for who you are, as we do with Lae'zel.”
Lae'zel’s eyes softened as she absorbed their words. The realization that your parents held no ill will or judgment toward her, despite their vastly different beliefs, began to ease her confusion.
“Thank you for your acceptance,” she said, her voice more genuine and appreciative. “It is rare to find such kindness and openness in this world.”
Your mother placed a hand on Lae'zel’s shoulder, her touch light but filled with warmth. “We are grateful to have you here. Our love for our child extends to those who are important to them.”
As the evening wore on, the conversation flowed more naturally. Lae'zel’s initial reservations began to dissolve as she shared stories of her own experiences, and your parents listened with genuine interest and respect. The harmonious blend of your parents' spiritual wisdom and Lae'zel’s battle-hardened tales created a unique and memorable evening.
By the end of the night, Lae'zel’s initial confusion had transformed into a deep appreciation for your parents' way of life. The evening had been a bridge between two worlds, united by love and mutual respect. As you and Lae'zel prepared to leave, you felt a profound sense of contentment, knowing that your parents had embraced your lover with the same unconditional love that had guided them throughout their lives.

Shadowheart:
The gentle hum of the forest surrounded you as you and Shadowheart approached your family’s home, nestled among the ancient trees. The sun had begun its descent, casting a warm, golden light through the canopy. You had often spoken of your mothers—druids with a profound connection to nature and a loving, albeit occasionally overwhelming, tendency to fuss over you. Today, Shadowheart would finally... experience them.
Your heart fluttered with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. You were eager for Shadowheart to meet your family, but you also knew that your mothers’ affectionate, maternal instincts could be a bit overwhelming for someone not accustomed to such a display of love.
As you reached the clearing where your family’s home stood, a quaint and cozy cottage adorned with flowering vines and wooden carvings, you could already hear the soft murmur of your mothers’ voices. You knocked on the door, and it swung open almost immediately. There stood your mothers, their faces lighting up with joy upon seeing you.
“There you are, darling!” your mother called out, her voice warm and welcoming. She pulled you into a tight embrace, her touch familiar and comforting. “We’ve been waiting for you!”
Your other mother, her face alight with a gentle smile, stepped forward and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
“And who might this be?” she asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity as she looked at Shadowheart. You stepped aside to reveal Shadowheart, who stood with a mixture of nervousness and resolve.
“This is Shadowheart,” you said, gesturing to your lover. “Shadowheart, these are my mothers.”
Shadowheart offered a polite smile, her demeanor a mix of elegance and curiosity. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both.”
Your mothers’ eyes widened with delight. “Oh, what a lovely name! We’re so pleased to finally meet you!” your first mother said, her excitement evident in her voice. “Come in, come in! We’ve prepared a feast.”
As Shadowheart stepped into the home, she was immediately enveloped by the warmth and coziness of the space. The interior was decorated with nature-inspired motifs—wooden carvings, leafy tapestries, and the fragrant aroma of herbs and freshly baked bread.
The fussing began almost immediately. Your mothers led Shadowheart to the table, showering her with compliments and offering her a seat as if she were the guest of honor.
“You must be exhausted from your travels,” your second mother said, placing a plate of food in front of Shadowheart. “Please, help yourself to anything you like.”
Shadowheart chuckled softly, a genuine smile gracing her lips as she accepted the plate. “Thank you. I appreciate the warm welcome.”
Your mothers were not done yet. They hovered around Shadowheart, ensuring that her glass was always full, her plate was never empty, and that she was comfortable at all times. Their attentive care was met with Shadowheart’s amusement, her eyes twinkling with a mix of gratitude and mild surprise.
“It’s quite a spread you’ve prepared,” Shadowheart remarked, glancing around at the abundance of food. “You really didn’t need to go to such lengths.”
“Oh, but we wanted to!” your first mother replied, her eyes sparkling. “We’ve heard so much about you and couldn’t wait to meet the person who has brought so much joy to our dear child.”
As the evening progressed, the fussing continued. Your mothers insisted on telling Shadowheart stories about you as a child—stories that, while endearing, made you blush and roll your eyes in playful embarrassment. Shadowheart found the tales amusing, laughing and teasing you gently.
“You were quite the handful, weren’t you?” Shadowheart teased, her eyes glinting with amusement. “I can see where you get your spirit from.”
You playfully nudged her, a grin spreading across your face. “Oh, you have no idea.”
The evening was filled with laughter and warmth. Your mothers, having taken a liking to Shadowheart almost instantly, treated her as if she were their own. They were thoroughly enchanted by her grace, her charm, and the way she fit seamlessly into their home.
When the night drew to a close, and Shadowheart prepared to leave, your mothers insisted on packing a basket full of homemade goodies for the road.
“You must come back soon,” your first mother said, handing Shadowheart the basket with a loving smile. “We’d love to have you over again.”
“You’re always welcome here,” your second mother added, giving Shadowheart a warm hug. “We’re so happy to have met you.”
As you and Shadowheart left, you couldn’t help but notice the genuine affection and admiration your mothers had for her. Shadowheart, too, seemed touched by the experience, her smile reflecting the warmth and acceptance she had received.
As you walked hand in hand under the stars, you turned to Shadowheart. “How did you find it?”
Shadowheart’s eyes were soft, her expression reflecting a contentment that spoke volumes.
“They’re wonderful,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “I can see why you cherish them so much.”
You squeezed her hand gently, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. “I’m glad you think so. They really do have a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome.”
Shadowheart nodded, her smile widening. “It’s easy to see why they adore you. You’re a reflection of their kindness and warmth.”
With that, the two of you continued your walk, feeling closer than ever, united not only by your love but also by the acceptance and affection you had both received from your family.

Gale:
The grand estate of your parents was a marvel of elegance and opulence, nestled amidst well-manicured gardens and towering oak trees. As you and Gale approached the massive, ornate front door, you couldn’t help but notice the intricate detailing of the architecture and the luxurious surroundings. This was the world you had grown up in—a world of magic, wealth, and intellectual pursuit.
Gale, ever the inquisitive sage, was visibly awed by the grandeur. He looked around with wide eyes, taking in the sprawling grounds and the elaborate facade of the estate. As you approached the entrance, the door swung open to reveal a well-dressed butler.
“Welcome,” the butler said with a polished, professional demeanor. Gale’s eyes widened further as he greeted the servant with an enthusiastic nod.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, finally! I can see where Y/N gets their looks from,” Gale said, his voice tinged with excitement and charm. “I’ve read so much about this place! The magical academies you must have attended—”
The butler raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing at his lips. “I’m afraid you’re mistaken, sir. I am not one of Miss Y/N's parents. Allow me to show you in.”
Gale followed the butler inside, his excitement only slightly dampened by the wave of embarrasment he felt. The opulent interior of the estate was even more impressive up close. Rich tapestries, towering bookshelves, and gleaming chandeliers adorned every room.
The butler led you and Gale through a series of grand hallways until you reached the study—a room filled with arcane artifacts, ancient tomes, and an atmosphere of scholarly pursuit. There, seated behind an impressive mahogany desk, were your parents.
Your father, with his silver hair and scholarly robes, was immersed in a complex magical manuscript, while your mother, with her elegant demeanor and keen eyes, was sorting through a collection of rare magical artifacts.
“Mother, Father,” you began, your voice tinged with both pride and nerves, “this is Gale, my partner. Gale, these are my parents.”
Your parents looked up from their studies, their expressions lighting up with genuine warmth and interest. Your father, setting aside his manuscript, extended a hand to Gale. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Gale. I’ve heard quite a bit about you.”
Gale shook your father’s hand with enthusiasm, clearly impressed. “The pleasure is mine. Your home is magnificent, and the magical artifacts—well, I can’t even begin to describe how fascinated I am!”
Your mother stepped forward, her eyes sparkling with interest. “We’re delighted to finally meet you, Gale. We’ve heard so much about your own magical pursuits.”
As the evening progressed, Gale’s excitement became evident. He eagerly asked questions about the various magical artifacts displayed around the study, and your parents responded with equal enthusiasm. Their conversation was a blend of scholarly debate, magical theories, and tales of past discoveries.
Gale’s fascination with your parents’ work was palpable. He peppered them with questions, discussing magical theories and historical discoveries with a fervor that only someone deeply passionate about magic could muster. Your parents were equally absorbed, clearly enjoying the lively exchange of ideas.
“I’ve always wanted to study the intersection of elemental magic and arcane rituals,” Gale said animatedly, gesturing towards a particularly rare artifact. “How did you come across this?”
Your father launched into a detailed explanation, clearly delighted by Gale’s keen interest. Your mother joined in, adding her own insights and anecdotes. The conversation flowed seamlessly, and Gale’s eagerness to learn was met with genuine enthusiasm from your parents.
As the night wore on, the conversation showed no sign of slowing down. Your parents continued to engage Gale, showing him their latest magical experiments and inviting him to delve into their extensive library. The scholarly exchange was so engrossing that you found yourself on the periphery, watching with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
Eventually, it became clear that Gale was completely absorbed in the discussion. Your parents, captivated by his curiosity and knowledge, had no intention of ending the evening anytime soon. You, on the other hand, knew it was getting late and that you needed to move on.
With a mixture of laughter and determination, you approached Gale, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. “Gale, dear, I think it’s time for us to head home.”
Gale looked up, slightly dazed but still buzzing with excitement. “Oh, already? I haven’t even scratched the surface of the library yet.”
Your parents, catching the hint, smiled sympathetically. “We’ve enjoyed having you, Gale. You’re always welcome here. Your enthusiasm and knowledge have been a breath of fresh air.”
Gale beamed, clearly pleased with the reception he had received. “Thank you, I’ve learned so much tonight. I look forward to our next meeting.”
You guided Gale towards the door, the evening’s scholarly discussion still lingering in his mind. As you stepped out into the cool night air, Gale’s excitement was palpable.
“That was incredible,” he said, his eyes alight with enthusiasm. “Your parents are amazing. I could talk with them for hours.”
You smiled, feeling a mix of pride and amusement. “I’m simply glad that you enjoyed yourself. ”
As you walked hand in hand, you could still see the gleam of excitement in Gale’s eyes. The evening had not only strengthened his connection with your parents but had also deepened your appreciation for the intellectual curiosity and warmth that they had so effortlessly shared.

Astarion:
The grand estate of your high elf mother was a testament to centuries of noble lineage and refined taste as much as you tried to hide it. As you approached the entrance with Astarion by your side, the opulence of the place was unmistakable as was his excitement: towering columns, intricate carvings, and gardens that seemed to bloom with an otherworldly elegance.
You had warned your lover that your mother was very particular about appearances and had a deep-seated appreciation for high elven nobility. You knew it may hit a chord with Astarion considering he could not remember his family. Yet, you hoped that perhaps the favourable opulence your mother provided would be a balm to him.
When the door was opened by a distinguished servant, you were greeted by the sight of your mother standing in the grand foyer. She was the epitome of high elven grace, with her silver hair elegantly styled and her attire reflecting the nobility she held so dear. Her eyes, though sharp and discerning, softened as they fell on you.
“There you are, my dear!” she exclaimed, her voice musical and filled with affection. She swept forward to embrace you. “I’ve been eagerly awaiting your visit.”
You smiled, returning her embrace. “Hello, Mother. I’d like you to meet Astarion, my partner.”
Your mother’s gaze shifted to Astarion, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took him in. Her sharp eyes caught every detail, and what she immediately saw was potential.
“Ah, Astarion,” she said with a smile. “A pleasure to meet you.”
Astarion gave a graceful bow, his own expression a blend of charm and curiosity. “The pleasure is mine, Mi'lady. Your home is as magnificent as I’d imagined.”
As you and Astarion followed your mother into the main sitting room, the conversation turned to more personal matters. Your mother’s gaze was fixed on you, and you could almost see the wheels turning in her head as she took in your appearance. Her tone, though gentle, carried an undertone of reproach.
“My dear,” she began, her eyes softening only slightly. “I must say, I wish you would carry yourself more like the noble you are. You have such stunning jewelry and robes that you never wear, and yet you choose to dress in these ragged outfits. Why?”
You sighed, recognizing the familiar note in her voice. “Mother, you know I’m not one for formalities and fineries.”
Astarion, who had been observing the exchange with growing interest, found himself in a curious position. He had often made similar comments, and now, seeing your mother’s concern mirrored his own, he couldn’t help but agree.
“You know,” Astarion said, his voice smooth and diplomatic, “your mother makes a valid point. I’ve often thought that such beautiful jewelry would be more fitting for someone of your stature, my love.”
Your mother’s eyes lit up at Astarion’s agreement. “Oh, wonderful! You see, Astarion understands. He has such exquisite taste. Perhaps you should take a leaf out of his book.” Before you could protest, your mother clapped her hands with excitement. “I’ve actually arranged for a tailor to come in today to create some outfits for you, my dear. But clearly, it would be wasted on you if you don’t care for such things. Astarion, come with me. Let’s get you properly fitted.”
Astarion, caught between delight and surprise, found himself being gently but firmly escorted by your mother towards the designated fitting room.
“Oh, this is going to be a treat,” Astarion said, a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’ve always enjoyed the finer things.”
As your mother guided him away, she called back over her shoulder, “I’m so glad my child has chosen someone with such impeccable taste. I’m sure you’ll look splendid.”
Left alone in the sitting room, you couldn’t help but chuckle at the turn of events. Your mother’s unabashed enthusiasm for fashion was well-known, but it was amusing to see Astarion so willingly swept up in her plans.
When Astarion finally returned, impeccably dressed in one of the tailored outfits, he was a picture of elegance and refinement. Your mother beamed with pride at her handiwork, while Astarion struck a pose with a grin.
“There,” Astarion said, his eyes sparkling with satisfaction. “I must admit, your mother’s taste is impeccable.”
You smiled, both amused and touched by the way your mother had embraced Astarion. It was clear that she had taken an immediate liking to him and had found joy in seeing him embrace the world of high elven nobility.
“Thank you, Mother,” you said, your tone filled with genuine gratitude. “I’m glad you like him.”
Your mother smiled warmly, her eyes twinkling with contentment. “Of course, dear. It’s always wonderful to see someone who appreciates the finer things in life and of course loves you so dearly.”
As the evening progressed, you felt a renewed sense of connection with both your mother and Astarion. Their mutual appreciation for elegance and refinement had created a bond that bridged the gap between your world and Astarion’s. And as you watched them converse animatedly, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment knowing that your worlds had come together in such a delightful way.

Wyll:
You arrived at the quaint, country home where your older siblings lived, a place that held countless memories of your childhood. Your siblings, though somewhat overprotective, had always been your steadfast support, especially after they had taken you in and raised you as their own. They had shaped your upbringing with love and a strong sense of family, which had molded you into the person you were today. Now, it was time for them to meet Wyll, your partner.
As you pulled up to the house, you could see your siblings through the window, busying themselves with preparations for your visit. The scent of home-cooked food wafted through the air, mingling with the crisp scent of autumn leaves. Your heart swelled with nostalgia and anticipation.
Wyll, ever charming and confident, stepped out of the carriage beside you. His eyes took in the serene surroundings with interest, and he gave you a reassuring smile. “Ready?” he asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.
You nodded, squeezing his hand gently. “Absolutely. They’re going to love you.”
You approached the front door, and before you could knock, it swung open. Your elder sister, always the more practical and warm-hearted of the two, greeted you with a beaming smile.
“There you are!” she exclaimed, enveloping you in a hearty embrace. “It’s so good to see you!”
Your brother, equally protective but with a more reserved demeanor, stood just behind her, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in Wyll.
“And who’s this?” he asked, his tone cautious but curious.
“This is Wyll,” you said, stepping aside to introduce him. “Wyll, this is my older sister and my brother. They’ve been like parents to me.”
Wyll stepped forward with his usual grace, offering a polite bow. “A pleasure to meet you both. I’ve heard so much about you.”
Your sister’s eyes lit up with immediate warmth. “Oh, please, come in! We’ve prepared some food. I hope you’re hungry.”
As Wyll followed you inside, your brother’s keen eyes studied him with careful scrutiny.
“So, you’re the one who’s captured our sibling’s heart,” he said, his tone measured but not unkind.
Wyll met his gaze steadily, a hint of his trademark charm in his smile. “I certainly hope so. As I’m very much in love with them.”
The evening unfolded with laughter and lively conversation. Your siblings, despite their initial wariness, soon found themselves charmed by Wyll’s easy demeanor and genuine kindness. Wyll regaled them with tales of his adventures, always careful to include stories that highlighted his respect for you and his deep feelings for you.
During dinner, your sister took the opportunity to fuss over Wyll, ensuring he had more than enough to eat and frequently checking if he needed anything.
“Here, try this,” she said, placing a heaping serving of her special casserole on his plate. “It’s one of our family’s favorites.”
Wyll graciously accepted the food, clearly appreciative of the effort and care that had gone into preparing it.
“This is delicious,” he said, his eyes bright with genuine praise. “You have a real talent for cooking.”
Your brother, having observed Wyll’s interactions with you and his appreciative attitude towards your family, began to warm up. He joined in the conversation, sharing stories of his own and laughing heartily at Wyll’s humor.
“You know,” he said, his tone more relaxed, “you’re quite a character. I can see why our sibling is so taken with you.”
As the evening drew to a close, your siblings were more than satisfied with their impressions of Wyll. They had taken him into their fold with the same protective and loving care they had always extended to you. Your sister, in particular, couldn’t resist offering some parting words of advice.
“Take care of them,” she said, her tone both serious and affectionate. “They mean the world to us.”
Wyll nodded, his expression sincere. “I promise, I will.”
Your brother, now visibly more at ease, clapped Wyll on the back. “And if you ever need anything, you know where to find us.”
As you and Wyll left the house, you felt a deep sense of contentment. The evening had been a success, and you were glad to see that your siblings had welcomed Wyll into the family with open arms. The bond between you and your partner had only grown stronger, fortified by the acceptance and affection of those you held dear.
Wyll took your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “That went better than I could have hoped,” he said with a relieved smile. “Your family is wonderful.”
You smiled back, feeling a warm glow of happiness. “I’m glad they like you. They’re a big part of my life, and it means a lot to me that they’ve embraced you.”
Together, you walked into the evening, your hearts light and your spirits high, knowing that your relationship had the support and approval of the people who had shaped your life.

Halsin:
Bringing Halsin home to meet your sisters was something you had been both excited and a little anxious about. Your sisters had raised you with all the fierce love and protectiveness of true guardians, always looking out for you and making sure you were safe. They had been through thick and thin with you, and naturally, they were very cautious when it came to the people you brought into your life. Their approval meant the world to you, and you knew they wouldn’t let anyone into the family without a thorough vetting.
As you approached the cozy cottage where your sisters lived, nestled in a lush forest clearing, you couldn’t help but feel a flutter of nerves. Halsin, ever the calm and collected druid, walked beside you, his presence a steadying force. He noticed your unease and placed a reassuring hand on your back, giving you a warm smile.
"Everything will be alright," he said gently. "Your sisters care about you deeply. I understand their need to ensure I am worthy of your trust."
You nodded, grateful for his understanding, but knowing just how intense your sisters could be. As you reached the front door, you could already hear the familiar sounds of their voices from within, chatting and laughing as they prepared for your arrival. The moment you knocked, the door swung open, revealing your eldest sister. Her eyes immediately landed on Halsin, and she gave him a scrutinizing look before turning to you with a smile.
"There you are!" she exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug. "We’ve been waiting for you."
Your other sisters quickly joined, each of them hugging you and then turning their attention to Halsin, their expressions a mix of curiosity and thinly veiled protectiveness. They exchanged glances before the eldest spoke up.
"And this must be Halsin," she said, her tone polite but with a hint of challenge. "We’ve heard so much about you."
Halsin inclined his head in a respectful nod. "It’s an honor to finally meet the people who have cared for my beloved so well."
Your sisters ushered you both inside, but it wasn’t long before they began their gentle yet probing interrogation. They gathered around Halsin, questions flying from all directions, their protectiveness on full display.
"So, Halsin," your second sister began, her arms crossed as she leaned against the kitchen counter. "Tell us about yourself. How did you meet our dear sibling?"
"And what exactly are your intentions?" another sister chimed in, her tone light but with an edge of seriousness.
"Do you truly understand how special they are?" the youngest asked, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked Halsin up and down.
You felt a flush of embarrassment as they continued to press him, despite your attempts to intervene.
"Come on, give him a break!" you protested, trying to pull Halsin away from their inquisition. "He’s not on trial!"
But Halsin remained unfazed, meeting each question with calm and sincere answers. He spoke about how you had met, how your connection had grown, and how deeply he cared for you. His tone was warm, his words thoughtful, and he never once appeared flustered or defensive. Instead, he seemed to understand exactly why your sisters were behaving this way, and he respected their desire to protect you.
"My intentions," Halsin said, turning to the sister who had asked, "are to cherish and support them in every way I can. Your sibling is incredibly special to me, and I am committed to walking alongside them, no matter where our paths may lead."
Your sisters exchanged glances, clearly impressed by his responses. The atmosphere began to shift, their initial wariness melting into acceptance. They began to relax around him, and soon the conversation turned to lighter topics.
As the evening wore on, your sisters found themselves drawn to Halsin’s kind and wise nature. He shared stories of his druidic practices, his connection to nature, and his adventures in the wilds. They laughed at his tales of animals he had encountered and listened intently to his insights on the natural world. His deep respect for life and his gentle demeanor resonated with them, and before long, they were no longer interrogating him, but enjoying his company as if he had always been a part of the family.
By the end of the night, your sisters were completely won over. They were chatting and laughing with Halsin, offering him second helpings of dessert and even sharing embarrassing stories about you from your childhood. The transition from skepticism to acceptance had been so seamless that it was hard to believe they had ever been anything but welcoming.
As you and Halsin prepared to leave, your eldest sister pulled you aside, a soft smile on her face. "You’ve chosen well," she said, her voice full of approval. "He’s a good man. We’re happy for you."
You felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over you, knowing that your sisters had accepted Halsin so fully. When you turned back to him, he was chatting with your other sisters, all of them smiling and at ease.
As you finally left the cottage, your hand in Halsin’s, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment. Halsin had faced the scrutiny of your overprotective sisters with grace and patience, and in the end, he had won them over completely. You knew that bringing him into your family had been the right decision, and you were filled with gratitude for the love and acceptance that now surrounded you both.

Hello!
How about Wanda x Reader, where yn has golden retriever energy.
Wanda and Vision broke up a few months ago, he cheated on her and she was like not believe in love anymore, until she met yn thanks to Yelena, yn is kate's older sister, and has the same energy or more than her.
The Bishop girl
Tumblr media
Y/N: 26 years old ——————————————————
NO ONE'S POV "Y/N Bishop, why in the world do you have just one fork? Now I know where Kate gets that from" Yelena sighs, shaking her head while carrying a pot full of mac and cheese she made.
"I'm just one person, Yelena. Besides, you kinda invited yourself over, I wasn't expecting you at all today" Y/N tells her back. The girl was just enjoying her coffee when her sister and Yelena suddenly bursted through the door of her apartment.
"Once you hear why Kate and I came, you'll be glad we did" Yelena says, sitting down at the table and opening her mouth to say more. "We-"
"You'll be so happy! I can't wait to tell you!" Kate squeals, cutting Yelena off and actually making her older sister curious.
"Can you guys just tell me what's going on already?" Y/N asks them impatiently, her leg bouncing up and down from how curious she is right now.
"The three of us are going to Tony Stark's party tonight!" Kate squeals.
"Oh my god! Really?!" This time is Y/N the one to squeal, her eyes shining.
The sisters, Y/N and Kate, have had this dream to become ones of the Avengers ever since they saw Clint and Natasha fighting for New York. Kate's role model has always been Clint and that's actually why she got into her Archery thing while Y/N's has been Natasha, so she got more into fighting. And now the younger sister is actually about to become an Avenger which is the coolest thing ever for the older sister.
"I need to get ready!" Y/N rushes to her room, immidiately opening her closet and throwing her best suits and dresses on her bed.
"We'll pick you up later!" Yelena calls from the kitchen, so Y/N calls 'okay' back and get back into choosing what to wear.
After trying on everything the girl decides for her favorite black suit as she doesn't feel like wearing dress tonight. But of course she needs to do her make-up and hair first, so that's what she does before actually dressing up. She does wear heels to her suit though and then just sits on the couch and waits until Yelena and Kate pick her up.
———
The three arrive to the party… finally, and Yelena with Kate immediately drag Y/N to where the Avengers are standing and talking.
"Guys! This is my older sister Y/N" Kate blurts out immediately on which everyone stops talking and looks at the older sister, making her nervous.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Steve. Kate has told us a lot about you" Steve breaks the akward silence, giving Y/N a smile and stretching his hand for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you too!" The girl smiles back, shaking his hand. Y/N repeats this with most of them and they immediately include her in their conversation which finally makes the girl relax.
Her eyes land on the only present Avenger she hasn't met yet though… Wanda Maximoff. She's sitting at the bar alone, sipping her drink and she definitely looks like she needs some cheering up.
"I'll be right back, I'll just go for a drink real quick" Y/N tells her sister, earning a nod, so she heads to the bar. A simple "Hey" Is how she greets Wanda, giving her a smile as an attempt to start a conversation.
"Hi… Sorry, I'm not really in the mood for a conversation" Wanda sighs, making Y/N furrow her brows.
"Yeah. I've noticed. That's why I came here… for a drink and to cheer you up" Y/N gives the witch another smile before telling the guy behind the bar her order.
"Sorry, who are you?" Wanda asks, scanning the unknown girl with her eyes which makes Y/N shift uncomfortably a little bit.
"I'm Y/N Bishop, Kate's older sister" She introduces herself.
"Right, she speaks about you a lot. I'm Wanda" Wanda says, finally giving Y/N a small smile.
Of course Y/N knows why is Wanda sad… what happened between the famous pair… that Vision cheated on Wanda a few months ago and they broke up. Kate's been telling her older sister everything that's been happening on the compound.
That's the reason behind Wanda's not so cheerful behavior. Y/N isn't even surprised when Wanda's ex-boyfriend is currently on the dance floor with a few ladies.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Wanda… Hey, don't you think it's too loud here? Don't you maybe wanna go for a walk or something?" Y/N asks the Avenger to try to get her away from here, so she'd stop staring at her ex-boyfriend. It might be too fast, but it's worth a try, right?
"… Okay" Wanda sighs and stands up, starting to walk away, so Y/N is quick to follow behind.
The pair ends up on a balcony with the most beautiful view on the entire city which leaves Y/N breathless. She walks closer to the edge, her mouth opened at the sight.
"Wow"
"I know, right? I always come here when I need a moment alone" Wanda confused, a smile visible on her lips.
"I like your smile, you should smile more" Y/N says on which Wanda's cheeks turn a bit red.
Wanda shakes her head, trying to get rid off the nice feeling she's currently having. Ever since Vision cheated on her, Wanda just decided that she'd never fall in love again. She truly loved him and he betrayed her.
Vision was supposed to be her soulmate, the person she'll grow old with, but he just had to do this to her. Thanks to that, the witch slowly stopped believing in love, thinking that maybe she's just destined to stay alone after what happened to her parents, then her twin brother and now to her relationship with Vision.
"You're shivering… Here, take this" Y/N smiles warmly, taking off her suit and putting it over Wanda's shoulders.
"Thank you" Wanda smiles, a blush spreading across her cheeks as she locks eyes with the Bishop girl.
The nice feeling appears again, making Wanda wonder if love really doesn't exist. Maybe it's not how she thought? Maybe it was supposed to happen like this and someone else… maybe even the girl in front of her… is the one she's supposed to spend her life with…
----------------------
I'm still confused about what golden retriever energy actually is, but I hope I'm at least close😅

Hello, Hello!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I suppose this is an introduction to my silly lil au I've been cultivating in the back of my mind like a pot of stew with the most weird seasonings imaginable. Anywho, this is a swap au I've decided to call the 'curious critters' because-- you know... they're all just learning about things from one another. It's not much different from the normal Smiling critters. Just them all being different (and it being winter, as seen with Holly bein an eepy lil guy) But!! Introductions!!!
Holly Hibearnation- A sleepy bear who would rather everyone get along than fighting. She has a very specific hate towards Manny and Prissy. (looks at Star Hare. looks away) she is usually the peacemaker, coming to Goldi's rescue every other day when... when she's not napping at least.
Puppylove- A lovely, friendly little pup! Best friends with Kittenergy. They are a pup with a big heart, often writing letters to their friends to express their admiration as they don't have the courage to say it out loud. normally, they are the one who keeps Kittenergy in line or vice versa. (they have a shared braincell, it depends on who has the braincell at that moment)
Parry Party-a-too- The wildcard. Not much different from Kickin, but instead of being a 'cool-guy,' he is a little goon who loves to prank others or throw parties. he often is the start of every problem. He does not care, and will be continuing to be the issue.
Goldi Corn- The leader of the Curious Critters! she is a sweetheart but does not have the heart to tell the others off if they do something wrong. HOWEVER, she can convince Prissy to eat other foods. she is the only one to accomplish this task. other than Holly.
Prissy Piggy- She is little miss perfect. She even straightened her tail! She also refuse to eat any food she doesn't deem 'perfect'... this does not come back to bite her, I swear.
Kittenergy- The most energetic cat around! They are also friends with Puppylove. they love to run around and play with their friends. Though, sitting through long explanations makes them bored rather fast and they'll leave halfway through... it's okay, Pup explains it to them afterwards.
Star Hare- Star Hare is the second smartest of the group! she is also the closest to Holly and hangs around her quite a lot. She often explains how stars work or certain phenomenon in space to anyone who will listen(Holly). She isn't a big fan of Manny, not liking how he flaunts his knowledge as well as just... how he acts in general.
Manny Mammoth(I misspelled it shhh)- he... he is a fucking asshole. He's the smartest of the group and will let you know it. If Star doesn't know anything on a certain subject, he will be sure to push it in her face before actually explaining anything. He's also generally a bully to everyone and anyone... minus Parry on occasions.
This was inspired by @/Eggrito's au btw. Their Frowning Critters au is just so LKNKGNDL. I love it. they're so cool. support them.

Ok so I know that I just did a poll for what to focus on but I really just need to get this Drabble out and then I’ll focus so hard on my Eddie Big Bang fic.
Anyway! I’ve been thinking about false positives and how that could correlate in presenting in the omegaverse. Like it’s rare but it can happen.
For example Steve Harrington has been forced to go to the doctors every month to take a hormone test to see if he’s going to present as an omega, beta or an Alpha. His parents desperately want an Alpha and are taking every opportunity they can to ensure Steve will be one. His father, an alpha, is purposely scenting Steve every morning before he goes to school. His mother had taken pills when she was pregnant with him and makes him lunches that have strong testosterone levels. It’s now getting to the point where he’s getting close to being able to predict what he’s going to be and it’s a very stressful time.
So when he goes to the doctor and the test finally comes back positive to him show casing alpha hormones he’s relieved. His parents throw a party to celebrate, and when they realize their efforts worked they return to disappearing on business trips. Leaving for weeks on end. Now, all they have to do it wait for Steve to present, but they already know Steve’s going to be an alpha so it wouldn’t be productive to be home when that happens.
Though their plans sort of back fire and Steve hasn’t presented on time. He’s extremely late while his peers all proudly announce their secondary genders. He’s a little disappointed but knows he doesn’t have long to wait. So he decides to throw a party for his friend Chrissy. Who just presented and is the first Alpha female in Hawkins ever. Even though that’s not what her mother wanted, who purposely did similar things to Chrissy as Steve’s parents did to him. They actually both bonded in the doctors room because of it.
So that’s how the both of them find themselves sitting across from Eddie Munson, who had also recently presented as an Alpha. They wanted to have pot there, Steve really enjoyed getting wasted and stoned at the same time. Chrissy just didn’t care, it was a huge party. So they offer to include Eddie in the celebration, as he just presented and hasn’t really thrown a party.
He declines.
Neither Chrissy or Steve see or talk to him until the party. Chrissy had been so busy that she didn’t notice Steve not feeling to hot. Or the way he stands next to Robin Buckley, an omega from band, and has the best conversation ever. Between feeling the most comfortable he has ever smelt under her smell, and feeling like he just met his long lost friend something shifts. His stomach cramps up, his chest grows sore and he feels over heated.
He has to step away from the party before anyone notices. Steve’s pretty much having a panic attack on the stump hidden in the woods when Eddie finds him. His scent smelt a lot stronger than it had at the picnic table. And now that Steve thinks about it he hasn’t been able to really smell anyone until he started to talk with Robin.
Steve doesn’t want to ruin Chrissy’s party, nearly going into distress about that. He knows she deserves this but his entire body hurts.
Eddie sits next to him and without thinking carefully rubs his shoulders. It’s best that everyone presents with only their family members, but Steve didn’t have anyone and he was scared. He’s lost in a haze and being wrapped in one of the best smells and being lead to a van. He doesn’t know what’s happening but Eddie seems a smidge freaked out as Steve’s body temp keeps raising higher and higher.
They somehow find themselves at the Henderson. Dustin’s mom was a nurse and would know what to do. Immediately Steve is taken care of. Eddie is forced to stay, just in case as he was the only alpha in the house and Claudia may need him.
Steve is pretty much stripped to his boxers, and both Eddie and Claudia think he’s about to present as an Alpha. He’s showing the signs of it up until the middle of the night and something in his body completely shifts. His scent changing from the hickory to a soft sunflower. He watches in real time as Claudia goes from being tensed up from the alpha smell to relaxing from the scent change. Her eyes are beginning to droop as she tries to take care of him.
“Dear I think you have the best scent I have ever smelt in my twenty years of being a nurse.” She admits. She’s changing the care routine, quickly grabbing scents that she things Steve would want. But is quick to realize Steve’s mumbling about two people he smelt at the party. One being Robin, who started all of this.
Claudia doesn’t waste a second and forces Eddie to go get her. An hour passes and Eddie comes back with Robin who is confused as to why she is needed. Unlike Steve she hadn’t smelt Steve and knew he had to be an important to her. But when she walks in the room and takes one small sniff she knows immediately and is quickly wrapped around Steve before Claudia can stop her.
It’s not uncommon for omegas to bond with each other, what is uncommon is for how hard Steve and Robin bond. Steve is quick to toss on a tank top, not wanting Robin to have to curl next to him shirtless. He’s already feeling himself calm down.
Then comes Eddie. Who pops his head in to say he might have it go. Before he can he gets a whiff of Steve and is quickly red in the face and stumbling over his words. He’s not allowed to stay, as he was an alpha. So instead he gives Steve his battle vest without a second thought and dips.
The presenting process goes a lot smoother after that. Steve is clearly an omega and has a lot to figure out. But for now, he’s happy with Robin, Claudia and even bonding with Dustin. Claudia’s son, who hasn’t had another omega in the household in a long time. Steve accidentally claims him as a pup in the process but Claudia doesn’t mind.

Wild Halloween
Aespa Giselle X Male Reader

P/S 1: Special thanks to @torotauri21 and @russett-pots for helping me proofreading this
Tumblr media
Ah yes, it's Halloween. The season where all kids wear costumes while getting candies around the neighbourhood. It's also the season when most places throw parties where the participants attend the party while wearing any costumes that they prefer.
Things appear similarly with Kwangya University as the university dean announced the university's annual Halloween party on Halloween night. Everyone in the university is very excited to join the party, except for Ong Sungho.
Ong Sungho is the nerdiest and quietest student in Kwangya University. Still, he did have some friends in the university, but only who's in his circle of friendship. One thing that everyone knows about him is that he DESPISES parties. He hates the ambience of the party and he is too shy to interact with other people who aren't very close to him. Even if his friends ask him to join, he persistently says that he won't come to the party.
However, this time, he has no choice but to come to this year's Halloween party. The reason is, his girlfriend persuades him to go and she also teasingly threatens him that if he doesn't go to the party, he won't get any affection from her. Until now, he remembers the threat that his girlfriend gives to him even though it's just a teasing threat.
Surprisingly, this quiet boy is able to get a girlfriend despite being shy to interact with anyone who isn't close with him. What is even more surprising is that his girlfriend is the most popular girl in the university, Aeri Uchinaga or commonly known around the university as Giselle.
Well, how exactly is this quiet nerd boy able to get the most popular girl in the university as his girlfriend? It turns out that both of them are actually childhood friends that are able to study at the same educational faculty till university. He and Giselle would be considered inseparable because they would do anything together.
Well technically, she's the one who is always close with him. She even joked to him that if he still didn't have a girlfriend, she would offer herself to become his girlfriend. Who knows that her joking comes to reality when they both become a couple for real.
However, compared to Sungho, Giselle is very out going which means she makes friends very easily. Plus, she is adored by the boys and girls in the university due to her beauty. It's a shock for everyone to know the news of her dating with the quietest, nerdiest student in the university.
Back to the recent timeline, Ong Sungho is walking with his close friends, Renjun and Jeno, towards the university hall where the Halloween party is being held. Sungho is wearing a Joker costume that is based from a game that he's been playing which is Mortal Kombat 11. His other two friends both respectively wear a costume of Goku(Renjun) and Barney(Jeno).
"Man, I can't believe that girlfriend of yours is able to force you to attend this year's Halloween party." His friend, Jeno, teases you. "Well, he has to because he wouldn't get cuddles from her if he didn't attend." His other friend, Renjun, adds up. The two of them then continue to tease him more while he is only able to roll his eyes because he didn't want to argue more.
"By the way, didn't you hate Joker? Why do you have to wear this costume then?" Jeno asks. "I don't know, she asked me to wear it. She says that she wants us to do a couples costume." Sungho sighs after answering that. "Oh, I guess she's dressed as Harley Quinn then." Renjun states which makes Sungho to just lift up his shoulders indicating he is clueless.
Soon, the three of them arrive at the university hall. When they enter the hall, they see other students with their respective costumes doing their own stuff. Some of them are eating the foods that are available at the party while some are just talking with their friends.
Still, Sungho didn't notice his girlfriend amongst the crowd. Therefore, he follows his two friends to get something to eat and drink. After a few hours, he starts to feel bored and left out in the party. He also wonders why his girlfriend isn't at the party yet. Little does he know that his girlfriend is preparing a surprise entrance during the dance session later on.
At around 10 PM, the peak of the party arrives, which is the dancing session. Everyone starts to dance to the music that is played throughout this session. Even Sungho is dancing with his friends in that moment. But to be honest, he is only dancing because his friends forced him to. Also, he doesn't want to feel left out which makes him want to dance. Nevertheless, he is lowkey enjoying it.
All of a sudden, the music changes into sexy vibes. With the music changing, 4 girls enter the hall. It turns out to be the 4 queens of Kwangya University which consists of Karina, Winter, Ningning and the one who is always in Sungho's mind, Giselle. All 4 of them have similar types of outfits based on DC female characters, Karina as Catwoman, Ningning as Supergirl, Winter as Wonder Woman and Giselle, like Renjun told him earlier, wears as Harley Quinn.
With the sexy vibe continuing, the first thing that Giselle does is go to her boyfriend once she sees him. "Hey babe, you look so handsome in your outfit." Giselle chimes. Sungho can only smile and thank her. "Well, you look stunning, my baddie jagi." He says, which causes Giselle to chuckle a little.
They then both start to dance to the rhythm of the music. It all went well until a few minutes later, Sungho realized that his girlfriend started grinding her ass on his crotch. At that time, he realized that she was trying to make him aroused. She then spins, facing him and whispers. "I know that you're kinda bored at the moment, and also aroused hehe~. I could even feel your boner. Well, I am feeling aroused as well, so let's ditch this party and go to your place, shall we?~"
Without letting him reply, Giselle pulls Sungho towards the hall door and leaves the party. Since his place is not far from the university, they decide to just walk until they reach there. In fact, they have been doing this every single time since the first day of their university years. However, without him knowing, she had a very naughty idea in her mind.
As they both walk past a dark alley, Giselle suddenly pulls Sungho towards the dark alley area. "Y-Yah jagi, why are you pulling me here into this alley? My place is very close, and you know that." He tries to argue.
She giggles before answering him. "Hehe~. I started to feel horny after we left the party." She then turns around, facing the wall of the dark alley and continues to persuade her boyfriend while shaking her ass. "Besides, didn't you tell me that you wanna try to have public sex with me? Now's the chance for you to make it a reality."
After his girlfriend said that to him, Sungho has the courage to do what Giselle's planning. He then gets closer to his girlfriend's ass while quietly fishing out his dick out of his pants and boxers. He then pulls up his girlfriend's skirt, seeing there's no panties before rubbing his length at her slit.
"Seems like my naughty baddie jagi is prepared for this. Here I go…" He teases her before inserting his dick into her in one go. Giselle yelps a little before releasing an inaudible moan, mouth gaping once she feels the penetration. "Mmm, j-jagi. S-So good!!!"
The thrusting of Sungho's dick goes faster and deeper into Giselle's pussy, as both of them, especially Giselle, show more of her skin. Her boobs are freely dangling, which he takes the opportunity to grope them. As soon as he starts to grope her boobs, she whimpers as her body feels so sensitive due to the fucking.
"D-Don't stop, babe… I'm a-about to c-c-cum-m.~~" Giselle chimes which then Sungho goes near to her ear to whisper to her. "T-Then do it, cum!!" With that, she cums hard, lets a long, yet a moderate moan due to still being in public. They both rest a couple of minutes before Sungho flips her girlfriend, facing him. "Just so you know jagi, I haven't cum yet." He said before starting thrusting back his dick into her pussy.
“J-Jagi, I-I’m still sensitive. Stop, please!!” She tries to stop him from fucking her but unfortunately, her attempts are futile. “Do you r-really want me to stop though? Your pussy suggests otherwise, c-clamping my dick tightly.” He chimes, which makes her want to protest but she can’t. And with that, he continues to fuck his girlfriend with no effort at all.
“I still can’t believe you pull me to this dark alley just to fuck when we both know that my house is close.” He says, teasing her girlfriend. Giselle couldn't do anything other than whining and whimpering, as she's still getting her pussy pounded by her boyfriend.
"Luckily, there's no one walking in this area. If not, they'll see how slutty you look now, jagi. Also, it seems like you're the one who's more excited to have sex in public instead of me." Sungho continues his teasing. Despite her moaning, she is able to respond. "It's b-because I want to satisfy you, b-babe. You have s-said about it for too many times which makes me even aroused just thinking about doing it for real."
Another few more minutes have passed and Sungho starts to feel his dick throbbing inside his girlfriend's pussy. This also alerts Giselle that he's about to cum. "Go on then, babe. Cum deep inside me. I'm still safe, remember?" She states.
With 3 more powerful thrusts, he pushes his dick deep inside her pussy before blasting his saved up cum into her. With his orgasm, it also triggers her second orgasm for the night. It takes around 10 minutes for them to relax after their joint orgasms. He then pulls his dick out from her pussy and sees some of their combined juices leaking out from her.
"Wow, that was amazing… I'm glad that I could fulfil your kink, babe." Giselle chimes, which makes him snicker a little. And with that, they both fix their clothes back on before resuming their way to their actual destination.
P/S: After almost a year, my second fic is done... Man, this really blows my mind to complete it just to complete this fic. Anyways, hope you guys like it

Gojo's Mistletoe Madness
Tumblr media
FEATURING Yuta Okkotsu x Reader
SUMMARY What's christmas without Gojo sticking his nose where is doesn't belong?
CONTENT WARNINGS fluff, childhood best friends to lovers, some satosugu lovin', megumi is embarrassed, yuji is an absolute angel, inumaki is attacked by a scarf :(
AUTHORS NOTE in honor of the holidays, some yuta fluff because he is my baby and I loveeee him :D
Tumblr media
The halls of Jujutsu High were alive with holiday cheer. Fairy lights lined the walls, their soft glow reflecting off the snow-covered windows, and a giant Christmas tree stood proudly in the corner of the common room, adorned with handmade ornaments and sparkling tinsel. It had been Gojo’s idea to throw a holiday party, and no one had been able to refuse—not that they’d wanted to. The air was filled with laughter, the scent of hot cocoa, and the faint sound of holiday music playing in the background.
You stood near the fireplace, a mug of cocoa warming your hands, watching as Panda tried to wrap a scarf around Inumaki, who’d been protesting with a series of muffled “Salmon!” and “Tuna mayo!” Yuta stood beside you, his usual shy smile gracing his lips, the warmth in his expression unmistakable. He held his own mug, cradling it like a shield against his nerves, a gesture you’d grown familiar with over the years.
The two of you had been inseparable since childhood, bound by years of shared adventures and quiet moments. After Rika’s curse had been lifted and she’d ascended to the afterlife, you’d made the decision to follow Yuta to Jujutsu High. It hadn’t been an easy choice, but you couldn’t imagine leaving him to face this new chapter of his life alone.
“This is nice,” Yuta said softly, his voice almost drowned out by Nobara and Yuji’s playful argument over who’d eaten the last gingerbread cookie.
You turned to him, smiling. “It is. It’s been a while since we’ve had a moment to just relax.”
He nodded, his gaze drifting to the tree. “I’m glad you’re here. I don’t think I would’ve made it this far without you.”
Your cheeks warmed at his words, and you looked away, focusing on your cocoa. Yuta had always been open with his gratitude, but it still made your heart flutter every time he said something like that. Before you could respond, Gojo’s booming voice cut through the room.
“Alright, everyone! Gather ‘round!” Gojo clapped his hands loudly, and the group slowly assembled in the center of the room, some curious, others suspicious about what he was planning.
Gojo’s signature grin widened as he pointed upward. “What’s a holiday party without a little tradition?” he announced, gesturing to the sprig of mistletoe hanging from the ceiling.
The murmurs in the room grew louder as people glanced around, speculating who might be the first victims of Gojo’s antics. Megumi, predictably, sighed heavily and muttered, “Why am I not surprised?” as Yuji immediately perked up beside him, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Oh-ho! Look who’s under the mistletoe!” Nobara’s triumphant voice cut through the chatter, and you froze, your eyes widening as you realized exactly where you and Yuta were standing—directly beneath the mistletoe.
“Yuta!” Yuji’s face lit up with pure glee, and he pointed dramatically. “You know what that means!”
Maki leaned back in her chair, smirking as she folded her arms. “This ought to be good,” she said, clearly enjoying the situation far more than she should.
Even Panda joined in, clapping his massive hands together. “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
“Wait, wait,” Gojo interjected, holding up his hand like a conductor directing a symphony. “This is a momentous occasion. Let’s savor it. We can’t just rush the mistletoe magic.”
Across the room, Geto nudged Gojo with a knowing smile. “You really like stirring the pot, don’t you?” he asked, his voice low and amused.
Gojo tilted his head, his grin unfaltering. “Isn’t that why you keep me around?”
“Among other reasons,” Geto replied with a wink, earning a laugh from the taller man.
Meanwhile, Yuta’s face turned a deep shade of red, and he looked at you, his wide eyes mirroring your own embarrassment.
“We don’t have to… I mean, if you don’t want to…” he stammered, his voice barely audible over the chants growing louder around you. His grip tightened slightly on his mug, a nervous tic that you knew all too well.
You bit your lip, feeling equally flustered. But as you looked into Yuta’s eyes, you saw the same nervousness mixed with fondness that you felt. Taking a deep breath, you decided to take the leap.
“It’s fine,” you said softly, giving him a reassuring smile. “It’s just a kiss, right?”
His blush deepened, but he nodded. Slowly, almost tentatively, he leaned closer. The room erupted into cheers and wolf whistles as your lips brushed against his in a soft, fleeting kiss. It was over almost as quickly as it had begun, but the warmth of it lingered, spreading from your cheeks to your chest.
As you pulled back, the room’s volume surged with excitement. Nobara was laughing so hard she nearly doubled over, and Yuji high-fived Panda while shouting something about how “Yuta finally got his act together.”
“That… wasn’t so bad,” Yuta said shyly, his voice barely audible amidst the commotion. His gaze stayed locked on you, and for a moment, the world seemed to shrink down to just the two of you.
“Not bad at all,” you replied, your voice light but warm. The smile you shared was enough to make your heart flutter all over again.
Gojo clapped his hands dramatically, drawing everyone’s attention back. “Alright, folks! Who’s next? The mistletoe’s not done yet!”
Megumi, who had been trying to edge away from the group, found himself stopped by Yuji grabbing his wrist. “Don’t think you’re off the hook, Fushiguro! Mistletoe rules apply to everyone!”
“Yuji,” Megumi hissed, his face bright red. But Yuji just grinned, leaning in close enough to press a quick, teasing kiss to Megumi’s cheek. The room erupted into another round of laughter, and Nobara nearly fell onto the couch, laughing so hard tears formed in her eyes.
Across the room, Geto nudged Gojo with his elbow. “Looks like we’re the only ones slacking,” he said with a sly smile.
Gojo leaned in with a dramatic flourish, pressing a deep kiss to Geto’s lips, even managing to slip in some tongue that made Megumi groan loudly.
"Why did I expect anything less,” Geto pulled away, laughing.
The rest of the evening passed in a blur of laughter and joy, punctuated by more mistletoe antics and playful teasing. But you couldn’t help sneaking glances at Yuta, who seemed equally distracted. Every time your eyes met, he’d give you that shy, heart-melting smile, and you’d feel the butterflies all over again.
As the party wound down and everyone began to retreat to their rooms, Yuta walked you back to your door.
“Thanks for… you know, not running away earlier,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
You grinned, leaning against the doorframe. “Thanks for not running away either.”
He chuckled, his gaze softening. “Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas, Yuta.”
And as he walked away, his hands stuffed in his pockets and a slight bounce in his step, you couldn’t help but think that this was the best holiday you’d ever had.

Do you think Jason would attend pta meetings for his twins? I think he’d make enemies with some of the snooty moms.
YES! oh my god YES thank you anon for sending this in!! he's a PTA MOM in disguise for sureee. you can't take this away from me.
Jason makes brownies because it's easier to cut into squares and put into Tupperware. he knows this to his CORE. won't let you make cupcakes or cake or anything that would make a big mess.
he probably hears twice the gossip of any usual PTA member because, for one, most of them can't believe he's an active member, and two, Jason has a very inviting aura.
Jason makes posters with the parents on Saturdays and invites them over to your house for casual chit-chat and food. oh best believe he will put a pot roast on and say that it was you who wanted it just so he could feed them.
is the first to offer to carpool. always.
he knows everyone by name but usually doesn't use all their names all the time. just to throw off from time to time, the mean parents who exclude other parents or always have something foul to say
Jason actually gets the chance to baby-sit some of the kids at different ages so it's like practice for the twins. he already knows how to French braid, cornrow, box braid. He also probably secures hand men downs from the other parents
Jason is frugal and he knows kids outgrow things in a matter of weeks. why pay for sneakers when he can get them for free from Marsha who is a single mother trying to make room in her garage for her personal gym.
you very much let him take it in stride that he's the PTA parent.
probably because you're the parent that no one wants to have to call when there is trouble. you will lay the law down for your babies. even the principal doesn't want to call you.
one of your kids said a bad word in class? call Jason. He'll talk to them about it and let it go.
you? you're demanding that someone else in class taught your kids that word. you're calling an emergency school board meeting about vulgar words.
Jason likes planning events too. He put on the first play the twins were in. It was a live action reenactment of a The giving tree.
he spends nights up sewing costumes and gluing decorations together. give Jason a task and he's making it his passion project. which is so concerning to some of the PTA parents who only know him as the burly man who brings brownies and hosts infamous parties at his house.
Jason doesn't care about his reputation at this point. will go out full PTA mode if he has to. Takes over someone shift as crossing guard one morning. Will put up posters around town and create whole websites for anything the kids need.
Also secretly gets Bruce to underwrite what the school needs. I mean, he's not gonna let the old man waste his money! it's for a good cause!

(Puts cracker in your mouth)
I am eating your blind reader right outta the pot and I was struck with a singular thought that hasn’t left my mind
What if when reader bumped into pants he ruined pants’ clothing in some kinda way (spilled drink/smeared ink from hands/food being smeared on etc)
For context: I was brainstorming a future fic starring a blind reader in discord.
You know what? It's not going in the current version so I'm writing this version here. Consider this a part one to the actual fic. (sorry beta)
Falling Head over Heels (Pantalone x Male Reader)
Notes: SFW, first meetings, Pantalone's kind of a dick, and so is Reader's dad. Reader has retinitis pigmentosa which is a genetic condition that causes your retinas to deteriorate over time. He has central vision but also experiences night blindness and loss of peripheral vision. Not beta read.
Tumblr media
The sounds of merriment echo through the halls of your family estate, the clicks and clacks of your typewriter unable to drown the sound out as you work. The noises grow louder once the band kicks in, and grow louder still once dinner is served. The smell of fresh food does not travel to your study like the music and laughter did, this section of the manor is a little too remote for that, but you know with the chime of the clock on your wall that this is when it should be brought out.
While not an outright demand, your father had advised you wait in your office for a servant to bring you a helping. Your mother protested, saying there were plenty of people who would love to meet her darling sweetheart of a son, there's no need for you to stay cooped up in your study! You gently reassured her that it was fine, really. The deadline for your novel's first draft is coming up soon, so you really should focus on finishing it as soon as you can. Besides, there is some rather elite company attending the party, and you know your father does not want to risk you making a fool of yourself, and also him by association.
Time ticked on, and your stomach growled, breaking the concentration you barely maintained on writing. You look up, right at the spot on the wall where the clock is. While you can't really see the time at this distance, you know the staff should have brought you your helping some time ago. You sigh, and stand.
You don't dislike parties, you think you enjoy them as much as the next person actually. The problem is that you don't like large, crowded parties due to your condition. Your central vision is perfectly fine, but you've been steadily losing your peripheral vision ever since you were little. It's been especially bad the past few years, to the point you will trip over anything that is not directly in front of you, like furniture and people. When your parents throw elaborate parties or host networking events, your father will suggest you stay up in your room or your study (to avoid any blunders as a result of not seeing the millionaire standing right beside you). While you know there is good meaning behind it, it feels isolating, even a little patronizing at times.
Even if the darkness of the hallway renders you completely blind, you've walked down it enough times you do not worry about tripping. Hand on the railing, you make your way down the stairs, and the light of the estate grows brighter with each step you take down. Before you fully descend, you let your eyes scan the room to try and make a mental map of where everyone is to avoid bumping into anyone on your way.
You barely make it to the ground before you feel a familiar presence and smell a familiar blend of cologne and champagne on your right. You're glad you can't see out of the corner of your eyes because you know exactly what face your father is making right now. You know he's not happy to see you downstairs before he even speaks.
"I thought you were working on your manuscript?" he asks, the accusatory tone in his voice on the more subtle side.
You shrug. "I wanted something to eat."
"Colleen was supposed to bring you your food," your father retorts.
"If she did, I wouldn't have come downstairs, would I?"
Your father scoffs. "Look, just go back upstairs, and I'll talk to Colleen."
A second voice chimes in, softer and sweeter. Your mother. "Oh, sweetie!" Her face comes into view, and she seems happy to see you. "Are you done your manuscript already?"
"Colleen didn't bring him his food, apparently," your father says.
Your mom turns her head in the direction of your father's voice. "Dear, Colleen left early, remember? Wasn't feeling well? She said Adelaide was supposed to bring him his food." "That's a lie, I haven't seen Adelaide at all tonight!"
You raise a hand. "Or, or, I'm an adult who knows where the kitchen is and can get my own serving?"
Your mother cups your face in her hands. "No no, we'll get you something, unless you're here to socialize as well? I was just talking to this woman, she has a daughter about your age-"
"I'm just going to get my food," you quickly cut in, "maybe I'll play matchmaker next time, but I just want something to eat and then I'll get back to work."
"Let the staff get it," your father tells you.
You pull away from your mother and turn to glare at your father. "It's fine. I can get it myself."
You step around your parents but feel your mom clasp your arm. "You father just-"
"Doesn't want me bumping into people, I know, and I won't."
You take two steps before your left side slams right into a passing partygoer. You stumble and hit the ground, while whoever you bumped into manages to maintain their footing. Glass breaks, and when you hit the ground you feel wetness soaking the back of your shirt and the front as well. You hear your mother gasp, and the room goes silent. Even the band has paused their playing, and you can feel the eyes of the room on you.
"What is wrong with you?"
While the man's voice is melodic, it only serves to make your face burn hotter with embarrassment. This is why your dad doesn't invite you to join them at parties, you remind yourself. When you do not immediately answer the question, opting to instead push yourself up, the man continues to chastise you.
"Do you have any idea how much this suit cost? How much it's going to cost to have it properly cleaned?"
You roll over so you're sitting up. Red stains your shirt. "Sorry, I-I didn't see you there."
"Clearly! How painfully unobservant do you have to be to not see me coming through? I was right next to you!"
You drag your gaze up the man's body, as he takes up the entirety of your eyesight. Everything he wears looks designer, and as you take in his shoes, his dress pants, you make it to his suit jacket and shirt. He's wearing black with hints of indigos and dark blues, but the wine stain is still very visible on his chest. Your eyes continue, and you see a snarling, but handsome, but still very angry face. You don't recognize him from the long black hair, the glasses with the bedazzled chain, or the shine of his eyes. You recognize him from the pin on his lapel. At this distance you recognize the Fatui symbol, and your face blanches.
You just ran into a Harbinger.
You hear the footsteps of your father approach. "M-Mister Regrator, I am so, so sorry for my son's actions, I-I'm sure that's a very expensive suit and I am deeply sorry."
The Regrator does not take his eyes off of you. "Yes. Very expensive. Expensive even for you."
"I-I swear, I'm sorry," you stammer, "I didn't see you, I really didn't see you there, I-I-"
You feel your father pull you up by the arm. "I already told you to go upstairs."
Pantalone watches as your father drags you away. You only protest a little before accepting defeat as you are pulled up the stairs. He feels the scowl on his face worsen when your mother approaches with the most desperate and pitiful expression he thinks he's ever seen a woman of her standing wear.
"Are you alright, my lord?" she asks timidly.
Pantalone takes a step back as a maid comes over to clean up the broken glass. "I'm fine, thank you."
"I am so sorry about that, if you'd like, w-we can have our staff clean your suit for you."
"This material is incredibly expensive and difficult to thoroughly wash," Pantalone states, "I highly doubt your staff would know how to clean it."
The woman looks down, embarrassed. "A-Ah, I see..." She looks back up at him, her expression somehow more pitiful than before. "Please, forgive my son, it was an accident, truly. H-He didn't see you there."
"Oh, I know," Pantalone replies, grinning harshly at the woman, "I'm just surprised at how unobservant someone can be, it's almost impressive."
The woman bites her lip, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Still, she clears her throat, though she does not meet the Regrator's eyes. "M-My son is going blind."
Somehow the room goes quieter.
Pantalone stares at the woman as the words echo in his mind. He blinks, and his expression dulls a little. "Your son is what?"
"Going blind." She lifts her head up a little bit. "It's a genetic condition, m-my father had it as well. He's been losing his eyesight little by little ever since he was a boy. The doctor at his last appointment s-said he's lost most if not all peripheral vision now."
Pantalone can feel the wine begin to soak through to his shirt now. His eyes scan the room, and the guests are clearly pretending they're not listening to the conversation. He turns to the woman, his voice displeased but noticeably softer. "So the, ah, 'unobservant' assumption..."
"He truly did not see you," the woman reiterates, "I-I can't speak for him, of course, but if he's anything like how my father was at his age, he cannot see anything unless it is directly in front of him."
Pantalone clicks his tongue. "Is that so?"
The woman nods. Silence fills the room for a few moments, and then Pantalone sighs.
"In any case, I have to leave," he says, "I do not have a change of clothes, and I really should have this cleaned as soon as possible."
"A-Apologies again, Lord Pantalone..."
Your mother watches Pantalone as he leaves, praying to any Archon who will hear her plea that perhaps the Regrator will take pity on you on account of your condition. She also mentally curses your father for even inviting the man over. Sure, things have been getting a little shaky financially for your family, but getting buddy-buddy with a Harbinger can't be worth it, can it? They're an unsavoury lot she doesn't want around, especially around you.
Your father is already in a foul mood when he comes back downstairs, having lectured you for literally blindly running into Pantalone. The two had plans to work together, after all, so that spectacle could have completely cost the family any chance at maintaining the dwindling fortune. He becomes more upset with your mother when he finds the Regrator has left already, sparking an argument that finally kills the party, leaving the guests to awkwardly mingle before finally leaving hours before the party is set to end.
Your father does not talk to you for a few days. Your mother offers smiles and reassurance that everything will be fine, but the spats echoing down the hall lead you to believe otherwise. You attempt to tune out the building stress in your household and focus on your work, but it's in vain. In the quiet moments between replacing the paper in the typewriter, or when you cannot figure out how a scene is meant to play out, you briefly picture the Regrator's face and feel your face burn up again. Is it anger? Embarrassment? A little bit of attraction? Yes, probably.
The tension in the house reaches a boiling point when a letter sealed with the Regrator's insignia is delivered to the estate.
"You're paying for the suit, boy," your father snaps, figure barely visible as he paces the drawing room lit only by the fireplace.
"W-We don't know if that's what the letter is," your mother remarks, "and he doesn't have enough to cover for it."
"That's the worst part! We would have to cover the majority of it!"
"Can you just open the fucking envelope?!" you finally snap.
Your father advances towards you from the darkness, suddenly right in front of you. "Don't you speak to me like that when this is your fault!"
Both of you flinch when your mother all but rips the envelope from your father's hands. She steps just out of your line of vision, and you hear the ripping sound of the envelope. After a few moments, she lets out a loud sigh of relief.
"He's apologizing and forgiving us for the misunderstanding," your mother says, "though he, ah, he does want us to split the cleaning costs..." You hear the flutter of paper, and she absentmindedly steps forward as she reads the letter. "Oh, j-just for the shirt. That is... oof, that's still a little much..."
You sigh. "I should have enough money saved. Might have to put off moving out for a little longer, though."
"Oh, don't be so down!" your mother awkwardly laughs. "We don't mind having you here a little longer. It gives me peace of mind knowing you're safe! And there are o better doctors out there than in Snezhnaya!"
Your dad has disappeared out of view, but you can still feel his stare. You don't think he's as thrilled as your mother is, but it's better than him paying the full cost of Pantalone's dry cleaning. You wonder if there's anything in the letter stating if he'll still work with your father, and if that means you'll have to see him again before you eventually move. You hope you never see him out of sheer embarrassment, but a part of you wants to. It would be nice to remember a more cheery expression on his handsome face before the day your central vision finally leaves you.

Hiii Ssammyy! @embroiderling here!
I've just seen you posted that long list of prompts. Can I ask for a fake marriage/relationship dreamling, with the prompt "kiss me while everyone's looking."?
🫶
Hey there @embroiderling! Have this little fic I definitely didn't write just after I got that prompt... <33
Read here or on ao3!
Dream wasn’t entirely sure what led him to the situation he was currently in; running down the streets of Los Angeles like he was chased by the devil. Perhaps it had all started when he met Hob Gadling on the set of his latest show, witty and charismatic and throwing him smiles that would light up the entire room. Or it had been when Dream found himself smiling back, accepting the easy friendship Hob proposed for them and meeting him outside of filming for drinks and movie night and sleepovers at his home spent trading stories and a glass of wine.
But actually, it had probably been the moment Dream agreed to Hob’s insane plan of marrying him.
Yeah, they probably skipped a few rather important steps right there, between friendship and marriage, but that was not really the problem they were facing. No, the fact that they were two of the most well-known actors in the industry that married for something as crude as a green card was not really the problem. The fact that they had both been married before, that Hob was a widower and Dream divorced, was also not it.
The problem was that being married to Hob was easy. Too easy. Marriage with Calliope had been… harder. They had both been characters, stubborn and intense and with a temper to match. For Dream, marriage had always been about damage control, about preventing some inevitable argument or other. But eventually they would always end up yelling or crying or hurting each other, before doing it all over again the next day.
Marriage with someone Dream had never intended to marry, had not even found himself interested in at first, should have been worse.
Instead, marriage with Hob Gadling was heavenly. They lived together. Shared a bed. Hob did not mind Dream cuddling up to him to steal some of his body heat. They would read together on the couch, then talk about their current books while they made dinner. When Dream complained about the laundry needing to get done, Hob would do it and not allow him to help. He would come back with a pot of tea and the offer of a massage should Dream’s feet or back or neck hurt from acting all day.
Dream found himself searching Hob’s touch whenever he could and never being denied. When out on his own he would see something and bring it back home for Hob and receive the world’s biggest smile in return. So he did it again. And again. Their living room was overloaded with antiquities and books and little trinkets, all lovingly displayed.
And they never fought. Over a year of living together, of sharing a house, a room, a bed, a life, and they did not fight once. How could life with Hob be so good, when Dream’s entire life before hadn’t been?
Well, the answer should have been clear. But for some reason, Dream hadn’t noticed. He hadn’t noticed, and now Hob was gone. Not gone gone, just. Gone. His friend, his husband, was gone from their home and Dream did not know where he had disappeared to after their… disagreement. It hadn't been a fight. Because in a fight, both parties got angry. In a fight, partners tried to hurt each other after they had been hurt first. But Dream hadn’t been hurt by Hob. Hob would never hurt him, not in a million lifetimes. Instead, he hurt his friend for no reason but his own stupidity and insecurity.
And now… now he was running. Not away. He was running towards Hob. Or at least he hoped so. Finding his husband was a much harder matter than Dream had hoped for when he started running. But he was getting closer, he was sure of it. Their bench. That would be where Hob was. Sitting on the right side, peas in hand, feeding the pigeons. It had been one of Dream’s favourite rituals. Whenever a role got to him too much, twisted his stomach into knots and left his heart aching, he would sit on that bench and feed the pigeons.
And now, as Dream turned the corner, he saw his husband sitting in the spot he had claimed when he had first joined Dream in this little ritual of his. Those beautiful brown eyes were staring off into the middle distance, while one of his hands threw peas to a flock of birds and the other turned his wedding ring around between his fingers.
The sight made Dream’s heart ache, his best friend reduced to nothing but numbness. He had done that, and he would make it right again.
“Hob,” he called once he was close enough to be heard, and his husband’s eyes immediately snapped towards him. There was surprise there, possibly at the sheen of sweat that plastered Dream’s hair to his face, proof that he ran all the way here. Not that he stopped just because he found Hob. No, he ran straight into his husband’s arms, which wrapped around him all too willingly.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong, love? Are you alright?” The words ached, because Dream was not worth this level of care after how he had hurt Hob. But now that he wasn’t running anymore he couldn’t breathe, and so he allowed his husband to hold him for a moment, just until he could form an actual response.
“I am sorry, Hob. For what I said.” There was no answer and Dream supposed that none could be given anyway, and so he continued. “I had not realised how… deep your affections for me were. I. I expected some catch, for I had not known marriage could be so wonderful.”
There was pain in Hob’s eyes and Dream suspected it was not because of him, but rather for him.
“And here I was, thinking I’ve been rather bloody obvious.”
Dream huffed a laugh and took Hob’s hand in his, so that their wedding bands were resting against each other. “Looking back, I wonder how you ever became an actor.” That, at least, got him a grin. “I do not want to leave you. Not when the five years are over, not ever. You’re it, Hob.” Silence, stunned, but there was also a bud of hope that was threatening to spill into a smile so bright it would break Dream clean in two.
“So kiss me now, husband mine, while everyone in this blasted park is looking.”

*~Thanks Give Me~* Pt 2
Tumblr media
A/N: Second part ready and served! The third part will be posted tomorrow, so look forward to those vignettes XD Word Count: 5.1K Pairings: Barely seen Ruggie/Leona Warnings: Swearing
Prev/Next
Tumblr media
The two weeks leading up to the dinner were surprisingly peaceful. Everyone took their tasks seriously, even Leona came to Ramshackle to offer more monetary support a day after the meeting.
(“Just use my card to buy food for the dinner. Seven knows that Ruggie can eat…”
“Oh don't worry, he already gave me your bank info.”
“...”)
It was endlessly entertaining to watch both Sebek and Silver struggle to not spill the beans to an excited Lilia. The retired general hadn't figured anything out as far as they could tell, but he could see their friend group were all prepping for something. It was also hilarious watching Malleus launch his godfather into the stratosphere whenever Sebek nearly told the smaller third-year about the dinner.
Rook had disappeared for nearly a week, only returning with a massive freezer chest and a profound sense of pride a few days before the dinner. Inside said chest was a plucked turkey the size of a small velociraptor. The junior was all too pleased to recount the method of how he got the bird. His eldest sister, Reine, had been eager to let him hunt down a very aggressive tom on her wildlife preserve.
Yuu was just lucky Rook had provided the magically chilled chest and that their oven knew when best to defy the laws of physics.
Cater had been texting them almost nonstop, trying to clear up what his job task of ‘gay cousin’ was even supposed to mean. Yuu would simply respond with winking emojis, much to his displeasure.
Kalim had contacted them the night after the housewarden meeting, sounding pitiful as he promised he was able to complete his task. He simply had no idea what China was. Though he wanted to do a crystal set, it would take time to get so many plates, glasses, and platters all custom carved. Not to mention the short notice.
(“Oh that's right, China isn't a place here…um…It's porcelain dishes…Chang’an?”
“Ooooooooh. Yeah I can get us a really nice Chang’an set! With lots of designs and pretty red flowers! Red is a color I can use right? Or maybe traditional blue? I wonder if I can get a full gold set-”)
Jamil had dropped off the set a few days later, stacks upon stacks of gold-rimmed dishes with center designs of a painted red flower in bloom and deeper red swirls along the edges. Just as they had requested, there were plenty of matching serving platters and pots of varying sizes. The vice warden also asked for Yuu to find something for him to do. While he wasn't tasked with a job, he felt uncomfortable coming to dinner offering nothing.
Yuu told him if he had to do something, he was welcome to help them clean and sort the metric ton of silverware they still needed to look through for the party. A long afternoon task that ended with Jamil lovingly stating she was complete shit at polishing silverware.
More people were invited, both intentionally and surprisingly. Yuu had approached Crewel, Trein, and Sam privately to ask if they'd like to attend the dinner. They of course had their tasks as everyone else did. Trein was pleasantly amused to know his simple task was ‘Grandpa’ and that Lucius was also invited. Crewel didn't respond but he also didn't throw the invite back in Yuu's face hearing his job was ‘Wine Aunt’. Sam could barely hold in his laughter at his assigned task of ‘Cool Weed-smoking Cousin’.
Jack had called them, asking if his younger siblings could attend the dinner. He had contacted his mother to send her recipe for poached pears, leading her to trap him in an hour-long story that ended on her saying the twins' babysitter had canceled at the last minute. After learning the day in question was the same as the dinner, Jack had offered to bring his younger siblings to NRC for the day if allowed.
Yuu quickly agreed, already reworking the dining room to make room for a kid's table. Along with sending a message to Falena about the dinner and how Cheka would be welcome to come. (Leona texting them only a few minutes later with a variety of foul language).
Before they knew it, the day had arrived. Sebek spent the entire day beforehand and slept over, helping in prep and making the long list of foods that Yuu knew to be holiday staples. Waking up at 6am the day of, they both walked back into the kitchen to continue cooking and verbally clawing at each other until others started to arrive.
Tumblr media
The Heartslabyul crew all stood on the Ramshackle front porch, dressed in button-downs and a variety of semi-formal wear. Ace messed with his bow tie, raising an eyebrow while Riddle politely knocked on the Ramshackle front door, “So…why are we here dressed up and with two pies?”
Trey spoke, holding his glass container up, “This is banana pudding, not a pie.”
Deuce frowned, glaring at Ace while he lifted his own container in his hands, “And my eggs!”
“I don't even want to know why you have deviled eggs, Juice. What are we doing here?” Huffing, he raised an eyebrow at Cater primping his own semi-formal clothing, “I hate to ask it, but shouldn’t we be in class?”
“For the dinner. Just try to be on decent behavior.” Riddle looked through the side window of the door, concerned at hearing Yuu and Sebek screaming at each other as he knocked again.
“D-Dinner? What dinner? It's 10am!?”
Trey opened the door after no one answered, keeping a firm grip on his container of pudding, “Yuu? Sebek? We're here.”
The clattering and yelling stopped for a moment, the Heartlabyul crew looking confused at the uncharacteristically closed doors of the kitchen. Yuu opened the double doors, a splattered apron over their pajamas, greeting them with a big smile, “Hey guys! Thanks for coming by so early. Trey, Riddle, you guys can put your stuff in the dining room, I’ll be messing with it to make it all pretty later on.”
Deuce spoke up, holding his container up proudly, “I made deviled eggs!”
Yuu laughed, taking the Tupperware from their friend, “Thank you, Deuce. I’ll make sure to put them in a nice dish. Me and Sebek are still cooking everything else so could you guys make sure Grim hasn’t ripped apart the lounge in protest of being told to wait?”
“Of course. I know my task is to call everyone to the meal, but is there a certain time we join to eat?” Riddle questioned, handing his pie to Trey.
“Hmm. My family normally ate around two or three. But if me and Sebek keep up our pace we should be done by noon or one.”
Ace spoke up, looking around in pure bewilderment, “Tasks? You have guys had tasks?”
Yuu hummed, looking Ace up and down in barely concealed annoyance, “Ace, happy to see you’re on task.”
“I had a task!?”
Sebek’s voice called out from the kitchen, anger clear in his tone, “Stop fraternizing and continue with your own task!”
“Sebek, shut the fuck up and focus on the damn potatoes! And I swear to GOD, if you’re not using the goddamn ricer.” Yuu had started to walk back into the kitchen, brushing off Ace’s confused sputtering as she slammed the kitchen doors behind her.
“I don’t need to use the ricer!”
“You don’t need oxygen!”
Ace turned to Cater, raising an eyebrow, “What was my task!? Be confused!?”
Cater was tapping at his phone, texting Idia to remind him he had promised him he would come to the dinner, “Actually, it was you ‘weren’t invited and came anyway’.”
“...What?”
“Be happy, mine was ‘Gay Cousin’...”
“What?”
Tumblr media
More knocks come from the front door, Riddle running over to open it. He smiled, “Oh, you made it-”
“Move, Riddle.” Ruggie shouldered his way past the housewarden, already speed-walking into the dining room.
“...” Riddle turned to the other two Savanaclaw members still on the porch, “As I was saying, welcome. The meal isn't ready yet, so we're gathering in the lounge.”
Leona sighed, eyes almost glazing over, “Of course, we gotta wait more…”
Riddle folded his arms, tilting his head, “Isn’t your job to be a couch potato?”
Leona pointed to his front, “I gotta get this thing entertained and fed…”
Gripping onto Leona’s two braids like they were handlebars was Cheka in more formal wear than Riddle had ever seen him. The five-year-old swinging lightly but greeted him in joy, “Hi Mr. Riddle!”
“Hello, Cheka.” Riddle looked to Jack, raising an eyebrow seeing no one else with him, “Jack, were your siblings not coming?”
At that moment Riddle finally took notice of two pairs of tiny hands gripping onto each of Jack’s shoulders. Almost in sync, two coal-colored heads peek from under their brother’s hair, big amber eyes blinking at him. From what he could see, they had the same spikey hair pattern as their brother. Both with wolf ears still slightly too big for their heads, one of them having ear tips that matched with Jack’s grey hair.
Jack held up a glass container, “I brought the dessert Yuu asked for. Is there a place she wants me to put it?”
“Hmm…She said to place our dishes in the dining room, but she also wanted to place Deuce’s deviled eggs in a separate dish.”
Leona finally grabbed Cheka, silently demanding the child let go of his braids to hold him properly, “Where is Feral anyway? Aren’t they supposed to be hosting this dinner?”
Riddle looked to the closed kitchen doors, expression vaguely concerned, “Well-”
“Sebek, you better be basting that turkey the same way Silver basts your face! If that turkey is dry, I will marry your mom!”
One of Jack’s siblings pulls themselves up higher on his shoulder, gently tugging on Jack’s ear to whisper to him loudly, “What’s basting?”
Jack shoved the container into Riddle’s hands, speed walking down the hall and away from the kitchen of profanity, “Hey, Yuu has a TV. You guys wanna watch Lara the Explora?” Sighing in relief as the six-year-old twins cheer at the idea of watching their favorite cartoon.
Cheka looked at Leona, opening his mouth to also ask, only to have Leona quickly cut him off as he walked deeper into the house.
“Don't even ask me.”
Tumblr media
Trey had luckily been in the dining room and dragged Ruggie out before he could touch a single one of the serving dishes. Each platter remained with their tops on and magically locked to keep warm until opened again. The second-year almost scandalized hearing he needed to wait until everything was done. Dejectedly, after a weirdly intense stare from Trey, Ruggie backed down and joined the others in the lounge. Managing to wedge himself between one of Leona’s knees and the armrest of a three-person. He really took his task of ‘Spreading it’ seriously.
Sam had arrived, passing out little candies to Grim and the children as a way to tie over their appetites. He had only popped in the kitchen for twenty seconds, delivering a block of cheese Yuu had ordered that finally came in, only to rush out like his life depended on it. His only explanation being the kitchen was filled with malicious intent…
The Octavinelle trio had arrived while Sam and Cater were discussing their semi-shared task of ‘Cousin’ and all it entailed. Floyd holding a container close to his chest and keeping a vicious glare leveled at his twin, Jade pouting and glaring right back as he made small lunges. The two feuding eels leaving Azul to bring a chilled chest of drinks up the stairs himself.
Riddle stopped Floyd from entering when he opened the door, pointedly staring at the container in his arms, “What is that? You weren't tasked to bring anything.”
Floyd's scowl turned to Riddle, stepping away from the smaller sophomore and clutching the container even closer to his chest, “Shrimpy had no right saying I can't be trusted. So I made fried chicken.”
“And Jade…?”
Scoffing, Jade walked into the house, casting one last glare over his shoulder before cracking open one of the double doors to the kitchen to peek in.
Snickering, Floyd handed his container over to Riddle to finally help Azul with the container of drinks, “I locked him out of the lounge kitchen this morning. He didn't get to even try anything since I messed all his stupid boxes up last night too.”
“You nearly destroyed my Lulu Lazerus mushroom…If I hadn't managed to get it settled in a new terrarium I would be an only child right now…”
Floyd's only response was to make a face, groaning mockingly while he rolled his eyes and let his tongue hang out.
Jade had just started to ponder the idea of ripping Floyd's tongue out of his mouth when the kitchen doors opened fully. Luckily, Yuu and Sebek weren't yelling anymore but instead speaking to each other in intense tones.
“Suck it the fuck up, Sebek. I'm fucking tired and hungry too. Stop eating all the pineapple slices, those are for the fucking ham!” Yuu smiled at Jade, pointing behind them, “Come on, you can make the mushroom gravy since I suck at cooking them.”
That single prompt had flipped Jade's mood completely. The eel now smiling and already rushing past Yuu and into the kitchen. Their smile turned to Floyd and Azul, raising an eyebrow.
“What you make, Floyd?”
“Fried chicken...” Floyd frowns, putting together just what had happened, “Hey, wait a minute-”
“Yeah, I played you both. Go hang out in the lounge, there are small children in there.”
“Oh? Cool, I love playing with guppies!”
Riddle quickly followed after Floyd rounding back to place the container in Yuu’s hands, already scolding the laughing eel as they made their way to the lounge, “Please don't throw any of the children.”
Azul tapped Yuu on the shoulder, making sure to not get any food on his pressed dress shirt, “There are…children here?”
“Is that a hint of fear I hear, Azul?”
The housewarden sputtered, waving his date-mate's teasing expression away, “I'm not afraid of children. I just didn't bring more child-friendly beverages…”
Yuu opened the chilled chest, frowning as they took stock of the various bottles Azul had brought, “Zulie, I said booze and non-booze…”
“And I have! Must I remind you that the dietary expectations for children here are different from your world?”
They were in all fairness. Most commercial food wasn't as processed as what Yuu was used to. Even the most ‘unhealthy’ junk food was still leagues better than what Yuu would find back in their old world. Food geared toward children had even stricter social guidelines; juices were expected to be whole fruit juice and even blended with vegetables to ensure a well-rounded diet.
Sighing, Yuu tapped their chin, “Yeah…I can fix this. Let me help you get these all set up in the dining room. I gotta call Kalim and hope he and Jamil aren't on their way yet.”
Azul raised an eyebrow, following after Yuu, “I assume we're putting them on a table or people would pour their own drinks?”
“Don't worry, I'll show you where to put everything.”
Tumblr media
Azul was surprised to see the chandelier of the dining room was also a drinks dispenser. The bulbs were completely hollow even though they shined with light. He watched from the side as Yuu stood on the table and filled each glass bulb with the multiple drinks Azul had brought. He asked what they had requested from Kalim, seeing how his task was simply making sure they had a dining set.
Yuu remarked they were going to make a punch for the children since everyone would be concerned about the content of the nonalcoholic drinks for the kids.
“It probably won’t taste the same, but It was really good whenever my auntie felt like making it for family get-togethers. I think the kids will like it.”
Luckily, Kalim and Jamil hadn't left Scarabia when Yuu called. Kalim was all too eager to bring more items at Yuu's request; multiple whole fruit juices and a large bottle of lemon-lime soda water made with his unique magic. The Scarabia duo had even brought other gifts as they arrived at the dorm.
Yuu opened the door, smiling as Kalim held up his armful of bottles, “You're a lifesaver, Kalim.”
“It's no problem! I'm glad I could bring something other than just plates. Plus, we ran into Idia and Ortho!” Kalim turns, smiling at the small group still walking up the steps behind him.
Jamil was bringing up the rear, arms folded over his chest as he gave a glare to the back of Idia’s head. The flame-haired third-year shuffling along as he walked up the stairs as slow as he could. Ortho was floating beside him, eyes creased in his joy as he gently tugged on his brother's oversized sweater. Against his will, Idia made it up the steps and stood nearly curled in on himself.
Yuu cooed, reaching over and pinching Idia’s cheek hard, ignoring the flash of red his hair gave, “Look at you! All dressed up like you're fit for the public!”
“And you aren't for some reason. Aren't you hosting?” Jamil raised an eyebrow, looking over his datemate's messy appearance. He grimaces, reaching out to tug at the edge of their apron, “Is this part of it?”
“Well, me and Sebek are gonna get dressed up once the food is all ready. We just gotta put some finishing touches on a few more dishes then wait for everyone else to show up.”
Ortho tilts his head, “Would you like us to take over? You and Sebek should go get dressed so we can all eat as soon as everyone arrives.”
Idia mumbled under his breath, trying to shimmy his way a bit further from the door, “I'd…really rather not be in a hot kitchen…”
Sighing, Yuu stepped to the side to let the group enter the house, “I don’t want you guys to have to take over cooking for us. You’re all dressed so nice, I’d feel bad if you got messy…”
Jamil rolled his eyes, quick hands already untying Yuu’s apron and putting it over his blazer, “I think we can manage. You and Sebek go get washed up. I'm sure you’d love to actually host instead of looking as disheveled as you are and answering the door.”
“...Fine…” Yuu called into the kitchen, telling Sebek they were released from cooking and to go shower. They were barely able to move out of the way as Sebek zoomed out of the kitchen and disappeared up the stairs, his apron only just hitting the counter as his door slammed upstairs.
“...” Yuu turned to Kalim, Jamil and Ortho already in the kitchen, “Can you mix the punch up for me? You’re gonna use all the juice and the soda water for it. Put some sliced oranges in it, it’s for the kiddies.”
Kalim nodded, bumping the kitchen door open with his hip, “Got it!”
“And don’t think I forgot about you tall, dank, and heinous.” Yuu folded their arms, glaring at the back of Idia.
Idia had been inching closer to the front door, hoping he could slip out before being noticed and run back to his room. He groaned, scowling over his shoulder at Yuu, “I’m not even hungry…”
“You’re never hungry. Just sit at the table and hold Cater’s hand or whatever the fuck you do to maintain emotional stability.”
“So long as I can have my tablet at the table…” He rubs his forearm, looking to the ground, “Did you dress Grim up?”
“Yes. He has a new bowtie that he hates so he’s all pouty and grumpy.”
“Aw…cute.”
Cater poked his head out of the lounge hearing Idia’s voice, phone poised in hand before he let out a sigh of relief seeing his boyfriend actually showed up, “OMS, Idia! You look so good, babes. Thank you for showing like you promised~.”
Idia finally let a smile crack, tugging on his collar as the tips of his hair eased into pink, “I mean…you did help me pick out what to wear-MHP!”
The other third-year had sped walked over to his boyfriend, throwing his arms around Idia’s neck before pulling him in to make out with him. The redhead moaned loudly and running his hands through nearly neon-pink flames while pressing their bodies together.
“Cater! For the love of the Design!” Yuu slapped him repeatedly on the shoulder until he finally detached from a dazed Idia, “What the fuck dude!? Don't dry hump your boyfriend in my entryway!?”
“What am I supposed to do as ‘Gay Cousin’!? My boyfriend is here, so I get to be gay and kiss him!”
Rolling her eyes, Yuu groaned and walked up the stairs to finally clean up. Leaving a stunned Idia and an angry Cater, the redhead holding his hands up as to question the higher powers.
“What do I DO!?”
Tumblr media
Yuu and Sebek cleaned up well, Sebek feeling much better freshly showered and in the button-up he had spent an hour last night ironing. Yuu kept simple, the new designer jeans Crewel had flung at her after seeing her trying to sew in another patch on the thigh of her old jeans. A sweater Yuu had stolen from Vil’s closet, the third-year feeling something was missing from his wardrobe, but unable to figure out what was gone.
So she could feel nothing but smug when she opened the door, smiling at the well-dressed group of the Pomfiore trio on their porch, “Eyebrows.”
Vil raised a single perfectly sculpted eyebrow, already connecting the dots on where his missing top had gone. He tapped a perfectly manicured nail against the lid of his container, “Onion.”
“I see, you not only managed to get Epel de-mudded but you finished your salad on time.”
With a smile that seemed almost mocking, Vil opened his container to show the multicolored pasta inside, “I made a pasta salad.”
Yuu looked at the dish, her smile almost frozen on her face before she took in a deep breath through her nose. She reaches out, nails raking down the sides of the ceramic bowl as they slowly pull it out of  Vil’s hands, “I should…beat you to death for your audacity. But this honestly, looks delightful and I think you actually seasoned it.”
Epel spoke up from beside Vil, giving his housewarden a judgemental look, “He had me season it.”
“Hush, Epel.”
Rook tilted his head, smiling brightly, “I hope we are not too fashionably late. It’d do no good for us to miss such festivities with our dear classmates.”
Yuu ushered them in, “Not too late. Most everyone is here, but you also aren’t the last to arrive.”
Vil smiled as he triple-checked his makeup and outfit in the gold mirror on the wall, “Perfect.”
Epel perked up, holding out his own dish, “Oh, yeah. Here’s the tenderloin you wanted me to make. I never thought pork and apples would work together. How’d you know?”
Yuu partly wanted to point out to Epel that he was potentially blessed. Any food he made with apples was almost otherworldly good, a trait they learned Epel shared with his grandma, “Something from my world. Come on, we’ll get your dishes settled on the table.”
Rook closed the door behind their group, eyes glancing over to the kitchen doors, “May, I see the efforts of my hunt? I wish to see the golden beauty that was once my quarry.”
“I don’t care if you’re hungry, no one eats yet.”
After sending the Pomfiore trio to the lounge, they almost slipped back into the kitchen to touch base with Ortho and Jamil, only to hear the door being flung open to slam against the wall. Turning around they smiled seeing the familiar black and white fur coat. Crewel was already walking through the entryway, designer shades taking over half his face with a large gold-foiled wine bottle gripped in one hand.
“Papa dog! Thank you for coming, you didn't need to bring us more wine-”
Crewel didn't stop walking, managing to brush past Yuu completely with a pat to their head, “No, this is for me, puppy. No touchy.”
“Yep, that tracks…” Yuu had nearly closed the door only to see Trein coming up the stairs too, Lucius tucked securely in his arms, “Grandpa! You made it!”
They hug briefly, Trein sighing and allowing Lucius to jump from his arms to trot into the house. He was in a different robe, vaguely familiar to his normal attire but clearly of higher quality and with a more elaborate brooch, “It feels odd to cancel classes for a ‘dinner’. And on a Thursday at that…”
“Hm…yeah. We technically have a Thanksgiving break in my world. It’s basically just an extended weekend though.”
“That makes sense. While your studies are important, maybe this little break will do you children some good. Here’s hoping that Crewel doesn’t use this as an excuse to overdrink again.”
“Oh, he came in with a bottle of wine.”
“Of course he did…”
Tumblr media
Yuu was ready to text Lilia just to ask if he and his boys were on their way, secret be damned. Though a part of her realized she should of expected them to be the latest party of everyone. Malleus was so timeblind that he was potentially going to miss the heat death of the universe then pout about it. Silver can’t always fight against his compulsion to sleep and Lilia isn’t supposed to fucking know about the dinner anyway.
So when Yuu heard the door knocking with a refined yet urgent feeling, she flung Cheka out of her lap (Directly into Leona’s stomach) and raced toward the front door.
Swinging it open, she smiled at the nicely dressed trio before her, “There’s my bread delivery!”
Silver smiled, holding up the large wicker basket full to the brim with artisan bread rolls, “They should still be warm, but a bit longer in the oven shouldn’t burn them.”
Lilia looked between them all, taking note of Yuu’s semi-fancy attire before gasping. He pouted, glaring at each of his sons “Is this a dinner party!? I knew you boys were hiding something from me, but for it to be a meal among friends? I could have made something!”
Yuu watched as Silver and Malleus both gave an identical shudder at the same time.
Malleus places a hand on Lilia’s shoulder, letting the older fae jerk himself away, “You weren’t tasked with cooking. But, if you wish to have been involved, you were.”
Silver perks up, handing the bread to Yuu and finally stepping into the house as a group, “That’s right, father. You helped make the bread. I can’t shape dough nearly as well as you can. You helped greatly.”
“Surely the meal will be elevated from your lavish buns.”
Lilia pouted, arms now crossed. He wasn’t dull, he knew his children were simply trying to pacify his soured mood. It didn’t help they had kept such a secret from him. Then again…
Chuckling, Lilia places his hands on his hips as he let go of his annoyance, “Well, I have to admit, I am looking forward to the meal. Is it just us or will others be joining?”
Yuu smiled, sharing a kiss with Malleus, the horned fae already beaming at himself for completing his task. Looking to Lilia, Yuu nodded her head to the lounge down the hall, “You guys are actually the last group. Go wait in the lounge for a bit, me and Jamil will get the last touches of dinner done.”
While Malleus wasn’t too keen to leave, he allowed Lilia to tug him down the hall and into the lounge. The sound of Sebek shouting in joy at finally seeing his dorm family again, already talking their ears off on how much he had done to help insure the success of the meal.
Tumblr media
Yuu leaned their head into the lounge, locking eyes with Riddle and nodding. The housewarden perked up, standing from his seat and bringing his fingers to his lips to let out a piercing whistle.
Once he had everyone’s attention, he nodded and made motions to leave the room, “It’s time for the meal. Let’s all make our way to the dining room.”
The Ramshackle dining room was possibly the most elegant room of the house, which wasn’t hard, but it counted. The dark wood-paneled walls were lit softly by the warm lights of the chandelier. The long table was decorated by deep red placemats, crystal glasses, stark white plates, and matching serving platters filled to the brim with food. Tucked to the far wall, resting under a large landscape painting, was a much smaller table with five placemats.
Yuu smiled, gesturing to the small table, “Niblings, that’s your table. Everyone else, I actually have nametags so you guys are assigned seats.” Their smile quickly fell, reaching out and gripping Ruggie by the back of his suspenders and yanked him back from the table, “Not yet.”
Ruggie groaned loudly, glaring at Yuu, “What now!? This is my dinner isn’t it!?”
“No, you wanted a Thanksgiving dinner. So we’re doing a Thanksgiving dinner, all the annoying shit involved. Now, we’re going to stand around the table, hold hands, and say a prayer.”
Ace raised an eyebrow, “What, like a cult?”
Crewel pulled a face, begrudgingly holding onto Trein’s hand, “Why are we praying?”
Yuu grips Deuce’s hand, pointing a finger at everyone, “Don’t question me, this is just how my family always did it. Ruggie, you wanted this, you do it.”
“I-Do what?”
“The prayer, Ruggie. Say a few words about what you’re thankful for or like…praise god or whatever. Now everyone, hold each other’s hands and bow your heads until the prayer is done.”
“Ok, so this is cult behavior-”
“Bow your heads!”
Everyone bowed their heads, a few shooting Ruggie questioning glances before looking back to the floor or closing their eyes.
Ruggie stood in silence for a few seconds. Looking around the room before taking a breath and bowing his head as well, “Um…Hi? This is weird and I really don’t want to do this is public. But…Thank you…for the meals I’ve had, the meal I’m having, and the meals I’ll have…” He smiles softly, the grip he had on Leona’s hand tightening only a touch, “And for the people I share them with. Bless.”
Yuu holds their head up, staring at Ruggie in surprise, “Ruggie, holy shit, that was actually lovely.”
“Can we eat now?”
“Oh my God-Yeah.”
Everyone took a seat, Yuu further explained that whoever had a child sitting at the kids' table was allowed to make their and the child’s plate first. Ruggie being the only one who didn’t fit into that group who was allowed to pile his plate as much as he wanted before everyone else.
