The One Piece Live Action, but every season Sanjis eyebrow grows a bit until it starts forming his signature curl midway in the Thriller Bark Arc.

📘 Re-reading One Piece, random comments:
How sweet Franky was building the Mini Merry II for the Thousand Sunny 😭
Also, I really love the trio Usopp, Nami and Chopper.

I've made a new video. This one's less along the lines of a video essay and more like a discussion.

I’m really loving the final saga so far. 25 years of worldbuilding and set-up is finally collapsing into one final adventure full of constant exciting pay-off and the ultimate coherence of endless mystery. ITS SOOOO MUCH FUN.
I love how much Bonney’s story ties the whole series together. Say literally anything you want about One Piece ever but at least the girls are incredibly thematically and plot important. SAY ABOUT ANY OTHER SHOUNEN YOU CANNOT. It does not love women respectfully but it DOES love them. They are all compelling, fully-fleshed characters, with incredibly shitty visual design, and ultimately I simply care about one of those things a lot more than the other.
And when there’s irritating creepy jokes at least the joke is (almost) always on the men for being pathetic and creepy and not on the women. I have suffered a lot of the boy-crazy girl trope in shounen anime and I do definitely prefer the other way around.
There are two exceptions to that rule out of countless female characters and they are both a couple of my favorites. I love Boa’s tragic background that connects to so much of the rest of the story and her funny arrogance, and I love Lola’s ultimate reversal of her offensive caricature with her friendship with Nami, and how Lola’s gift to her gives Nami very fun and plot important power many arcs later. THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WOMEN UNIONIZE. Against her terrifying very important villain mom<3
Who is also a stupid caricature who ends up having a compelling backstory. He can’t keep getting away with this but god. THEY MATTER!!!!!!!!! WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i’m so curious and i’ve been meaning to ask, what would you say your fave op arcs are? ☺️
Water 7/Enies Lobby (which I count as one) are my favorite pre-timeskip arcs, and despite the devastation I do still quite enjoy Impel Down/Marineford. Post-timeskip I actually rlly love Egghead!!! I’m a big fan of when the series widens and we get to see what’s going on in the rest of the world LOL but if I’m being perfectly honest I genuinely think my favorite arc is yet to be written…… I do believe there’ll be an arc in the future where shanks gets a significant amount of screentime and that’s sure to be up there, but also Oda just seems to be getting more n more into it as we approach endgame and the story gets to things he’s been planning for years yk

So, after I finished re-reading One Piece up to before the time skip, I tried to rank the Sagas and the Arcs, according to my personal opinion and emotions.
I'm quite confident about the Sagas ranking, but maybe I have few doubts about the Arcs. Anyway, this is what I feel right now.
Sea of Survival: Super Rookies Saga
☠️ Sagas:
1) Arabasta
2) Summit War
3) Water 7
4) East Blue
5) Thriller Bark
6) Sky Island
☠️ Arcs:
Arabasta
Enies Lobby
Impel Down
Marineford
Arlong Park
Water 7
Thriller Bark
Reverse Mountain
Skypiea
Drum Island
Post War
Romance Dawn
Post-Enies Lobby
Sabaody Archipelago
Orange Town
Little Garden
Baratie
Whisky Peak
Logue Town
Amazon Lily
Syrup Village
Jaya
Longring Longland
Let me know yours!!! ☠️

I FORGOT TO SAY but finally out of thriller bark!!!!!! my thoughts: GET ME OUT
it's.. okay!!! there was some good moments especially revolving around Brook, but i was either kinda bored or realizing how much i hate the villains (beside Perona, you can never make me hate her she was like the only sane person on that ship)
like i don't HATE hate them but they were fun to hate LOL
ALSO KUMA?!?! oh my god??? dies
anyways!!! me and my friend started the Sabaody arc and erm.... Duval.....

Listen. I know most of the earlier one piece movies aren't really canon, but I am obsessed with the implications of Saga in the Cursed Holy Sword, because he really adds a layer to Zoro's relationships with his rivals.
Okay. First, there's Kuina. His first rival. The one he can never beat. The promise to become the greatest. Untouchable, indestructible, until she isn't. Wado Ichimonji.
Then there's Saga. His next rival. They're more equally balanced. They're both orphans. There's an understanding there. A more even footing that he didn't have with Kuina. A gifted short sword instead of an inherited katana.
And Sanji. The proof of Zoro's rule of three. Twice over, in fact, third rival, third son. Never gives Zoro an inch in a fight, but doesn't hesitate to give him food afterwards. He doesn't fight with a sword, so there's no blade shared between them. Instead there's a much heavier promise.
Kuina dies. Saga dies. Both so close to Zoro, and he couldn't even do anything. Of course Zoro's worried when Sanji boards the sea train by himself. Of course he pushes Sanji out of the way at Thriller Bark. Of course he's angry with Sanji when he runs off to Whole Cake.
Zoro's already mourned his first two best friends rivals. Does he really have to go through that again?
Maybe Kuina wouldn't have fallen if Zoro had never asked her to fight him. Maybe if Zoro had been a little better he could have saved Saga. Maybe Zoro will have to kill Sanji himself.
