To people who played ISAT its evident that the characters in it are, quete human, well thought out, threedimensional so on so forth

What i find interesting is their struggles, bc, despite us spending 30 hours in Siffrins head they are not the only person in the group with issues to resolve (which again, is a big part of why the party feels believable as a group of friends)

The common link i personally see or at least find it fun interpret it as such, is that a lot of these personal struggle stem from the party members sorting themselves into a character archetype, may it be bc they find it easier to fit into the group this way, or like they are obligated to be someone straightforward and easy to discern.

Since we spend most of the time with Siffrin, he is the easiest to judge on this front

In an RPG, he is more tool for opening locks and disarming traps then person. Ambiguos musterious funnyperson/gremlin. They are supposed to be fine, they aren't supposed to pull attention of the story and characters to themself. And we all know what happened when they tried to stick to those rigid standards once faced with personal problems.

Isabeau is also pretty obvious since he talks about it in plain words. Trying to force himself I to the neat box of all-muscle-no-brains/himbo, since it fits well with the family dinamic, and feels like a more radical change, a way to distance himself from his childhood. But trying to make himself digestible and easy to understand just hurts him more.

Odile is more interesting since its not that evident. But I vividly remember a few instances when her genuine attempts to reach out and comfort are read as a sarcastic jab, by which she is somewhat upset. Often in media "old person" is an archetype of its own. Stern and disconnected from other party members, or an overprotective "parent". There is no nuance in which she can allow herself to slot into.

Mirabelle is the protagonist. And protagonists are supposed to change in the course of the story, often part of their reward is a romantic partner. They are supposed to be skilled, chosen by the world to fulfill their task. So when Mirabelle fails at being special she fails at acting out her lead role.

All these three-dimensional people try to squeeze themself into neat simple boxes and the corners hurt them

An interesting aspect of Picard and Qs relationship is that as soon as Q is no longer parading around in a human body they probably live in different dimensions. Picard, to Q, being stuck in a threedimensional space and forced to only be able to experience time in a linear fashion. Meanwhile Q could exist in far more dimensions, more than the human mind could possibly comprehend. Which could translate Q being obsessed or even in love with him to a human being obsessed/in love with a manga/comic characer (except Q and Picard can actually interact with each other). So Picard is actually Qs 'blorbo' at best or, at worst, his 'waifu' in the eyes of the Continuum.

hehehe i don't know that i'll finish the whole thing as i usually tap out of YA series (RIP pretties, you were impossible to finish) but i just started book 2. couldn't finish the in-between story about lev which is wild because he's by far the most interesting character, but this writer handles race SUPER awkwardly (to put it kindly)(starkey being described as "racially ambiguous so he can pass as any race" is......)

anyway, the starkey pov character is interesting, im really hoping he's more threedimensional than just another foil for milquetoast connor to be proven coolest alpha male against lol. this guy knows how to write cool guys, ill give him that, and i'm enjoying the wittiness that was connor's only interesting character trait being turned up to 11 in starkey.

that said the super basic "don't fight violence with violence" centrist politics are also pissing me off, so honestly unless some really wild shit happens or i grow more attached to other characters (i also really like hayden :-) and im hoping scyfy[sic?] comes back? ) i don't see myself finishing this thang.

imo even if edvr feels like an organic/threedimensional character my whole life ive met many natsuos or fuyumis or shoutos, rei and touyas (except the exploding part, just that uncontrollable anger and lack of identity) but ppl like endvr? none. never. and idk how commum this life experience is but even tho i dont really care for endvrs character whenever he talks abt his family deep inside my brain i automatically go "shut up! you have no right! just go away!". life just sucks kalshgaklajsk

I think the siblings are incredibly realistic and represent "paths" abused kids we can take. I do agree it's hard to find people like Enji. They're out there. Just well, again, it's difficult with this plotline. Most of us project to hard to find any common ground over him and there's just too much involvement emotionally that whatever the ending or resolution, no one will be fully happy, I think. I for one just rather be fine with that. The story isn't made fully for me, but I can still enjoy it.

tibblet-tibblie grimm hammer III AKA tibbles is such a threedimensional character with a complicated past and a very interesting family backstory and some ppl are just not ready for this conversation. he's grown to be such a good co-father for hunter too after he became broke in a tragic accident, grew to appreciate non-materialistic values more and had his redemption arc. i just wish we'd seen more of how his journey to become a kind-hearted pig looked on-screen

usually what I noticed after being on this 'manifestation journey' for a while (I speak of years) is that I became less and less interested in reaching external, material, physical goals but moreso the desire to discover more about myself, my true nature and oneness in general (and thus all my desires a natural byproduct of my being and not needing them to complete me). this led me to plant medicine and after a ayahuasca retreat in (halloween! lol) 2021, the desire to finally do a yoga teacher training (even though I'm not interested in teaching yoga/asana atm, might change but for now pranayama/breathwork and meditation are my vibe). one year later, I went to India for one month in 2022 and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity (and courage bc it was my first solo trip alone to a place far away from Europe) where I indeed discovered more about myself.

idk how it is for you but often I get to know myself deeper in experiencing pain and discomfort which is also something my soul came here to explore. and also to fully embrace our messy humanness, not being so much in other dimensions and living in imagination all day long but actually living life organically in this human body, being present and curious, being in nature - not only for the sake of being in nature but also to realize we are a part of it and have always been. to be more in sync, in tune with it.

being in tune with nature means being in tune with yourself, with your true nature. living life organically means being open and curious what life presents you naturally as you go about your day. living more like this is like life becomes a meditation kinda thing and that's really cool. true mastery is knowing that there is more than this threedimensional world but also not neglecting our bodies, not disconnecting from human life and celebrating being alive - like how incredible it is to exist, just the fact that we, that everything and everyone just exist? (remember this, especially whenever you feel like you and your life aren't enough. you are enough simply because you exist. you are a masterpiece created by a masterpiece.)
