It  happened  suddenly;  all  at  once  he  could  no  longer  feel  his  daughter.  While  heavily  absent,  Leo  could  always  feel  them,  could  always  at  least  vaguely  sense  them.  It's  hard  to  describe  how  the  thread  works  between  them.  It's  a  general  awareness  and  if  he  pulls  on  the  thread  hard  enough,  he  can  locate  her,  the  same  way  he  can  locate  Chris  and  Wyatt,  the  same  way  he  can  sense  his  charges.  It  happens  sometimes,  if  they  go  into  the  underworld,  or  they  try  hard  enough  to  block  him,  the  connection  disappears,  dulls;  but  this  is  different.  It''s  not  the  first  time  that  he  can't  sense  his  daughter  but  it's  the  first  time  it  truly  seems  concerning.  Still,  there  are  many  logical  explanations  so  he  waits.  It's  a  few  days  later  there's  a  call  from  his  wife;  a  call  in  his  head,  the  same  way  the  charmed  ones  had  always  beckoned  him  when  needed.  It's  the  first  time  he  knows  something  is  really  wrong.  Piper  confirms  it.  They'd  all  lost  connection  with  Mel-  Paige,  Chris,  Wyatt.  Of  course  she's  none  too  happy  and  the  two  get  into  one  of  their  world-class  spats,  Piper  demanding  he  finds  her  and  fixes  it.  Now.  He  didn't  need  the  incentive,  orbing  out  on  her  to  begin  the  investigation  into  where  his  wayward  daughter  was  and  what  kind  of  trouble  she'd  gotten  herself  into  this  time.

It's  not  easy  to  find  her  without  the  thread  that  connects  them  all,  without  that  connection,  it's  difficult  to  know  where  to  start.  Concern  pulls  at  his  gut,  forming  a  pit  in  his  stomach  as  the  days  go  by.  Finally,  his  investigation  pays  off.  When  he  orbs  in  front  of  her,  features  are  hard,  but  the  pit  in  his  stomach  eases  at  seeing  her  physically  unharmed.  "  You've  got  a  lot  of  explaining  to  do.  "

When Piper and her sisters visited the future,  Piper meets her and Leo's only child: a daughter named Melinda.

When Piper first became pregnant, the family assumed that the child would be a girl as was the rest of the Halliwell clan and Piper prepared to name her Prudence Melinda, in honor of her late older sister, Prue, and her ancestor, Melinda Warren. However, the child turned out to be a boy, Wyatt.

After her second child was also revealed to be a boy, Chris, eventually Piper became pregnant with her third and last child, finally a girl, a little after the Charmed Ones' last Battle.

Melinda came into her powers about a year after her birth. Her mother was cooking in the kitchen whilst holding Melinda when the baby "conjured" a couple of potion bottles above her mother's soup, causing the soup to create vines that attacked her as well as her mother. Melinda enjoyed the spectacle, but Piper, after unsuccessfully trying to cut the vines, had to call in the help of her two sons Wyatt and Chris to help her.

The Elders hoped to alter the prophecy of the Twice-Blessed. That the firstborn children of the family would inherit the Power of Three. Making Wyatt, Chris, and Melinda an even more powerful force for good than the Charmed Ones.

Being that Leo was mortal when Melinda was conceived, everyone was shocked to discover that she miraculously had the power of telekinetic orbing. Leo goes to The Heavens with Paige to question The Elders. There, they are approached by newly appointed Elder, Kyle Brody, who informs them that since Leo was a Whitelighter for so long, his magical abilities became ingrained within his DNA despite his being mortal, passing those genes onto Melinda. The Elders decided to interfere and caused these whitelighter powers to manifest in Melinda so as to alter the prophecy of the Twice-Blessed Child.

They wanted to make Chris and Melinda twice blessed like Wyatt, which would allow the three first born Halliwell children to inherit a more potent Power of Three so that in the future they would be a greater force of good than the Charmed Ones. However, the Angels of Destiny realized the errors of tampering with people's lives after understanding that was the entire reason why Neena, the first witch, decided to bring about the apocalypse. As a result of this, the Angels of Destiny absolved Wyatt, Chris, and Melinda's statuses as twice blessed, making Melinda a normal Whitelighter-Witch. Melinda still retains her power of telekinetic orbing because once a witch receives an active power it becomes an attachment such as an arm or a leg and wouldn't be right to just remove.

It had hurt when the other man had begun to distance himself, Wyatt could handle him leaving sex work behind, sure. But once it became clear that Wyatt too would become a relic of the past, well that was just something he couldn't take. Their hangouts became shorter, plans more frequently canceled, until one day Leo stopped associating with Wyatt all together. 6 months and not a single text from Wyatt's object of affection, and only a few days shy of a year since the man had left sex work. Since he'd started this mess.

Right on time Wyatt spotted Leo, the man always came to this area, and it was always late at night. Which was perfect, because his new home was only a few houses down in a long abandoned 3 bedroom house. Though Leo would be staying in the basement for the time being.

Wyatt let the other man pass him by 20 feet or so before creeping out of the bushes, baseball, bat, and other gear in the bag resting on his shoulder,"Leo!" He called, jogging up to them man," Hey, I thought that was you!" He panted as he caught up. Although he was in his normal day clothes, a pair of skinny jeans and a plaid shirt, the bag Wyatt's carrying gave the impression that he'd just come from the baseball field a few blocks down.
