The train tracks just outside the city had been long abandoned. The area was quiet, lonely. Peaceful in its own little way. Without anyone around he could be himself, rather than the person he pretended to be. Maybe that's why it had become Gavin's favorite place to think. Out here there was no one to judge him no matter what he did, be it crying or screaming 'til his lungs gave out.

Tonight he did neither, tonight he walked along the tracks. Balancing on the rail as he mentally berated himself for the shit he pulled earlier that day. For not the first time he'd made a complete ass of himself. Managing to piss off not just the android he'd insulted, but just about everybody in the Precinct based off the angry texts he'd been ignoring all night.

He'd called the android, Conrad, a sexdoll. Or rather, said that was all he was good for. It was distasteful, low even by Gavin's standards. But he'd said it without thinking...and regretted it immediately.

He'd been too cowardly to apologize, as usual. Instead he left right after he'd gotten slapped, making his way to the tracks. He'd been here for hours trying to quell his feelings. Guilt mostly, and anxiety about tomorrow. He may pretend nothing happened, but no one else would.

"It's not that bad," Neylnn reassured with a soft smile," I'll be just fine, especially with you looking out for me." It didn't bother him, but he did sometimes wonder how fragile his boyfriend thought he was. Maybe that was an inevitable consequence of an android-human relationship.

Afterall an android could sustain injuries that would kill, or at the very least permanently cripple a human, and still walk it off long enough to be repaired. That wasn't really as easy for humans, they were much more likely to die before they could get medical attention.

Admittedly sometimes acknowledging that thought did make him feel vulnerable, but it wasn't enough to stop him from living his life.

"I'll be more careful next time," he promises as he lets Serqet take care of his cut," Thank you...do you think the potato's still safe to eat if I wash it off?" It's not like he's feeding it to anyone else.

At Serqet’s wish, Neylnn’s eyes drifted back to the android,“ You could always get mods? Though knowing you, you’d find it wasteful I’m guessing,” still peeling the potatoes without even looking, he tried to say something to make his partner feel better,“ My cooking’s really not all that special anyways. You’re not missing- Fuck!”

He gave the potato peeler an accusatory glare, he’d been so focused on Serqet that he’d slipped and cut his thumb" Well that’s gonna scar,“ he grumbled. The cut was deeper than he’d like it to be, but he wouldn’t need stitches. He was more upset that he’d gotten blood on the potato in all honesty.

Before Serqet can even reply to Neylnn, their sudden shouting catches his attention. To absolutely no one’s surprise, the android has already pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it around his boyfriend’s injury to help prevent any further blood loss.

“You shouldn’t look away when handling a blade, silly.” A soft sigh follows, Serqet already, again, unsurprisingly moving to fetch his bag which held a first aid kit. “Let me take care of that for you.” The kit has been placed on the counter, disinfectant, antibiotic ointment, and bandages being placed upon it soon after.

Neylnn frowned, deactivating an android in need of help would result in outrage. Had this one someone missed the Revolution? Was he activated afterward and left to find his way in the world without any help? These questions would have to wait. They weren't important, not right now.

Time and time again Neylnn had to be reminded that kindness was a choice. One that many people did not choose. This was one of those times.

There was an android, a man, sprawled out on the ground. A crowd had gathered around him, but not a single soul made a move to help. Not a single person had chosen to be kind or even decent.

“You need medical attention,” Neylnn swiftly approached the man, examining him to the best of his ability. He’d helped his fair share of androids, maybe he could help this one too if allowed the opportunity. There weren’t many hospitals equipped to help android’s, not yet anyways. Chances are Neylnn could at the very least stabilize the man long enough to find someone more equipped to help.

“Can you hear me?” He gently reached out to touch the android’s shoulder,“ You’re going to be alright.”

Odi couldn’t day he knew how the revolution had gone. In fact, he wasn’t sure there had been one at all. His mind often far too scrambled, his memories constantly failing. Most of his injuries were a result of his age. rather than anything being done to him.

“M-m-medical atten-attention…will.. will result-t-t in d-d-eact-deactivation.” This much he knew. The state had been trying to deactivate him since before the revolution. He was obsolete, they did not even manufacture the parts he used anymore. But then, Odi was not aware of places like New Jericho. Only the repair shops owned by Cyberlife.
