Saw a tweet that said Langdon will be under a kind of scrutiny in season 2 for what will probably be the first time in his life. As a white (presumably) straight man, a doctor, married with two kids in a perfect nuclear family, clearly one of the more popular residents at the start of the season. He doesn't appear to have ever been in an unprivileged position before, until it's discovered he has an addiction. Versus now suddenly having to adjust to going through life with people having an existing prejudice against him as an addict. And I can't stop thinking about that because it will genuinely be so interesting to see. I believe the showrunners said that S2 will be Langdon's first shift back, and it'll be so damn interesting to see him needing to adjust to no longer automatically being trusted, to being watched more closely than ever before, have his judgement or skill questioned in ways he's not exactly used to. When a lot of the people around him, as women and/or people of color and/or neurodivergent people or poor and homeless people, have had to get used to at a way earlier point in their life. (And to which he certainly has at points contributed!)
And I'm just so genuinely excited to see how that might play out. I wouldn't be surprised if, at first, having to realise that makes him push back harder; people do often try to cling to the privilege they have/had when faced with a loss of it in another area. I think it'd be odd if this happened overnight. But seeing that shift gradually, letting him come to that realisation and adjust to a new way of being treated, recognise some things about his own treatment of people? It would be so interesting.
#i hope this makes sense but I am excited lmao#the pitt#frank langdon#dr langdon#i still dont know which way people tag characters actually lmao#txt#im pretty sure it was imifaes on twitter but I can't find the thread again so im not totally sure#but it's not left my mind yet

Robberies, what a boring thing. Still, she smiled as she nodded. “I’m more than happy to help, if that is what you wish to have help with.” The blonde glanced back down the alley toward the man. “Perhaps you can add that one to the list?” The wizard in question most certainly was robbing people, even if not in the conventional sense of a robber in ways that the auror in front of her was talking about.
“It wouldn’t be a loss for Diagon Alley, I’m sure. They’d manage just fine.” A hum as Estelle turned back to face Frank. “Don’t mind the jokes. I was stuck forever, and he is awful. I’ll help with the pamphlets. What languages do you need them translated into exactly?” - @franklongbottom-fm
Frank stole a glance behind them to make sure the man hadn't tried to follow them. He was still staring after them looking slightly bereft. But other people were trying to draw the man into conversation which Frank took as a good sign.
"I've got a string of robberies I'm looking into along Diagon Alley, it might be helpful to have some translated pamphlets I can pass around. Does that sound reasonable? I'm sure I could find something else if it would take up too much of your time."

thinking about this quote in connection w/ frank and how he wore the mask of a u.s. marine with a wife and two kids and their picnics in the park to obscure the internal struggle of reconciling the family man (married maria after three months because he got her pregnant like any good man™️ would) and the soldier that enjoyed the violence
#another thread in the rich kastle tapestry#karen and frank feel the need to hide the unpalatable parts of themselves and what i really want for them is for them to let#their rougher edges out. karen was driving under the influence and the wreck killed her brother. frank was murdering innocent#afghans and karma got his ass by mowing down his family in a park. they both fucked up in a real way and it haunts them.#interesting themes of atoning/avenging going on here and how one is more about rebuilding a life and making amends and the other is more#about destruction and burning everything down.#anyway karen and frank have yet to really let their masks off with each other and that's a source of tension between them because they are#vibing on a soul mate frequency but he's afraid he's going to get her killed (a result of the destruction based life choices he is making)#while karen understands his fears she's not going to start speaking on her own tragedy. she wants frank to come to her of his own free will#basically. not compelled by any joint trauma lost daughter reasons that would easily move him. because she wants a real life with him not#just two sad ass losers wallowing in their misery (hello frank in born again)#frank castle#kastle#karen page

The reality of his words wasn't lost on her. Truth that was held within his words very much reflected whatever had been going through her own mind for a while. Papers vanishing, items seemingly disenchanted, curses removed, properties altered; it was maddening. Somehow these forces they were fighting against so desperately had managed to settle in right under their noses. And whether or not she wanted to admit it, Hestia didn't have a clue as to who those people may have been. "I hate this." There wasn't a need to elaborate further. Feeling helpless wasn't something she cared to ever get used to.
The topic was easily pushed aside, for now. Other matters, that could in fact be solved, would have to take priority; even if only for a moment. "Honestly? It wasn't something I ever expected. Never saw an arranged marriage in my future. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was headed for the lone cat lady." Not that she honestly would have wanted the outcome, cat appreciator or not. "I just wish I knew a bit more about the guy I'm meant to marry." A sigh. "What does he like? Or dislike? There has to be something! Is there anything I should know?" Curiosity was surging through her. - @lbfrank
Getting their jobs well done was growing ever more difficult with the passing days, it seemed the war outside the Ministry walls had managed to slip right through the cracks and nothing made sense anymore. Where they should be solving cases, getting the bad guys behind the bars at Azkaban, they were struggling to keep up with the stunts pulled by those playing against them within their very own Department. "I don't think you'll find them." Frank admitted with a sigh, knowing it was the most likely option even if it wasn't fun to acknowledge. "We just got to keep our heads up, try to get the job done anyways." He added, some words of encouragement in hopes that things could get better eventually.
The wizard raised his gaze, meeting hers as she asked about Edgar, gently nodding his head waiting for her to finish the question. He knew where it was going, a shrug of his shoulders as he tried to find the right words to say. "He's a good man, Hestia. Not entirely content about the idea of an arranged marriage, and I'm guessing neither are you, but out of all the wizards out there-- he'll be good to you, that's a fact. Anything you'd like to know in particular?"

It was certainly a relief to hear that seemingly she hadn't made a mess of someone else's work by distracting them with her more than accidental humming. A habit did not make it something she noticed before the damage was done and in this case it seemed to be just fine. "I suppose that's a good thing." The witch chuckled as she put her own quill down to glance over at his sheet of parchment, yet finding barely any writing scribbled on it.
"Are you sure I didn't hold you back with my humming? There's barely anything written on it." Penelope scanned the parchment once again. "What's the issue? Don't tell me there aren't enough books within the Hogwarts library to help you along." Surely his writing wasn't that bad, then again one could still be surprised. - @frcnklinlongbottom
Frank bounced along to the humming. Two index fingers pointed upwards as they poorly moved to the beat. To him, even if he was trying to study, a little bit of life in the library could do everyone some good. If they were to only work with no play, all of them would have gone mad. Once Penelope apologized to him, Frank shook his head. "Naw, you're fine," he corrected. "Made this a little more fun than it normally would."
He looked down at his mostly blank sheet of paper with a sheepish grin on his lips. He shrugged his shoulders and swayed from side to side. "Technically," he replied. "Sometimes I wonder if I can even spell my name with how poorly I write."

Mary Tamm plays model Jenny Hart, whose husband is the subject of an investigation, in Public Eye: How About It, Frank? (7.3, Thames, 1975)
#fave spotting#mary tamm#romana i#classic doctor who#romanadvoratrelundar#public eye#doctor who#how about it‚ frank?#1975#thames#pretty terrible pics I know but im still watching these on that Tube You know about bc my dvds are many many miles away#i think i probably only ever watched s7 the once because (outside of the fairly significant plot thread of the first two eps) i remember#almost nothing of this final series. actually‚ because the series (like most of its era) was shot out of sequence‚ this was actually the#very final episode to be shot. the much missed Tamm was early in her career here‚ with just a handful of screen appearances (tho she'd#had a stint with the well regarded Birmingham rep‚ so was hardly inexperienced). later in 75 she'd have her first real meaty role in the#BBC's adaptation of Muriel Spark's The Girls of Slender Means; then of course there was DW a few years away and cult tv immortality#she's good here‚ but hasn't much to do; the role is disappointing tbh‚ her character is a model and shows a mild spark of independence but#the script repeatedly defines her as the wife of another character and‚ particularly disappointingly (and fairly unusually for the show)‚#broadly supports the husband's chauvinistic viewpoint that she should be providing more wifely services ie. cooking and cleaning#it's dumb and irritating and it's very annoying to have Frank tell her she should learn to cook. idk‚ it's a bad moment in a bad sideplot#of a brilliant show. so it goes ig. but hey‚ always lovely to see Mary <3

A visit from someone like Frank after the events of the past few weeks seemed right on point. Part of her had her suspicions, only to have them confirmed a mere sentence later. A sigh escaped her as she looked at her friend for a moment before shaking her head lightly. "I'm okay with how things are." At the very least she had to be.
Without another word she stood aside, letting the other in. "There isn't much to talk about when the choice's been made, is there?" And it served as nothing but a constant reminder. Beatrice appreciated the care, but at the same she felt as though those around her feared she would fall apart over a matter entirely out of her hands. No, there was no time for that. "With how the world works, I think I'll be busy soon enough either way. I won't sit by, idly and do nothing. And with him getting married to- With him getting married, he should focus on family. That's not me." That was all there was to say, in her eyes. - @lbfrank
When the door opened, Frank's first instinct was to give the witch a good look, see if he could tell how she was doing without needing to ask. However, he was not very good at catching the hints and felt like he should just go ahead and ask. "I came to see you, check on you." The wizard admitted with a shrug, offering a small smile and a nod at her question. "Yeah, that'd be good. I just wanted to ask if you're okay-- you know, with Edgar and his betrothal."

Starter for: Alecto Carrow, Alice Longbottom, Frank Longbottom @alectocarrowx @alicealongbottom @franklongbottom-fm Where: Diagon Alley NYE Street Party When: after 22:00
Of all the people to encounter tonight, it had to be Frank Longbottom. Just his luck. Rabastan could feel his blood boiling as he stood with Alecto, maintaining a false expression of polite amicability as they chatted about when the babies were due. All the while, he was imagining the many ways that he could make Frank suffer. His fingers tightened around Alecto's waist, as much an involuntary reaction as to warn her to remain calm. They would have their revenge. But not here, with so many people to bear witness. All in good time. They had waited this long. A little longer wouldn't hurt.
"Twins normally arrive earlier," he told Frank. "We're looking forward to it, and I'll be relieved for Alecto not to endure the full nine months."
He could have crucioed the man there and then. How he'd survived his cursed parcel, he would never know. It was but a small consolation that his lackies had been making Frank's life intolerable. News of their antics had made him laugh, though he desired far more than petty pranks.

@drcyn1c ... lyric starter.
it was my idea to hang out outside of work, but i wasn't sure what to actually do when it came to frank. and from the way he's looking at me, i'm not sure he knows either. "how about the farmer's market? should we go?" it's a quick walk. of course, i would know.
