Wherein the Creator is also known as the Holy Puppeteer, courtesy of the people she puppeteered around to see Teyvat in its glory.
Your hair stuck to the sides of your face. The trench coat you threw on to brave the snowy walk to the mall fluttered behind you, tattered and torn.
You were bleeding, you were tired, and you were running.
They shrieked and glared at you. Babbling about disrespect and Creator and death.
Hot tears slid off your cheeks and froze on the ground.
Your lungs burned; blood and soot decorated your clothes. The footsteps you left behind in the pristine snow of Dragonspine stood out with crimson charm.
Your blood stained the snow and laced it with gold. The snow foxes emerged from the icy corners and watched you flee.
You are alone.
Your skin is sickly pale and painful, golden strings erupted from your fingertips, grappling for anything that may save its master.
You play them around for your entertainment. You watch their stories play and do nothing. It is out of your hands, you didn’t know.
You didn’t know, you swear you didn’t know.
The strings thicken and wrap around you, hopelessly providing what little insulation it can to preserve your body heat. You’re getting desperate, the hot pain of the string and the stinging cold of the icy winds muddling your conscious. Everything’s a blur and you don’t know what’s happening anymore.
Why are you here?
The snow crunches under you as you fall, wrapped in a cold, golden cocoon of string. And suddenly, you cry out in relief.
Warmth spreads through you. You hug yourself and immediately flinch. It’s so warm, why is my skin so cold?
You distantly notice you stopped shivering.
The heat ramps up but your skin still feels freezing and soon you curl up and what is happening-
It’s too hot, why is it so hot-?
Your vision blurs; not that it matters, all you see is a wall of gold anyways. The heat feels like its boiling your blood and in response you try to rip off your clothes, push the pretty walls away, anything to balance out the sudden heat you’re feeling.
Black spots invade your sight and soon your wall of gold is a cold dark void.
Your body slowly stops moving as it puffs out your last breath.
A shimmery golden.. mass is not really what Albedo was expecting to see in the desolate land of Dragonspine, but here he is.
Even more surprising is the flora growing around and on it, uncaring of the freezing winds and the lack of soil.
If there’s no soil, there wouldn’t be enough nutrients for it to even bloom, right?
Maybe it’s another spectacle waiting for him to study.
Unsheathing his sword, he trims off the stray threads and cuts into the mass of suprisingly durable string.
The Cinnabar Spindle falls to the ground. Lifeless black, as cold as the snow around your carcass, bore dread into horrified teal.
Constellations littered your pale skin and the fading cosmos stay visible in your irises. If that wasn’t already a dead giveaway to who the body belonged to, the golden string from your fingertips is confirmation of your identity enough.
Without waiting another minute, he buries all the string, cuts it off and away from your fingers, picks you up, and bolts for his lab.
The rest of Teyvat who knew Albedo are left to question why Klee disappeared along with him, why neither of them can be found anywhere, and why Teyvat slowly caves in on itself.
They look to their statues of you only to be met with more puzzlement when they’re met with a cracked and curled statue, once smooth marble now jagged at the edges, and gold stripes from their anguished, stone eyes to the bottom of their cheeks.
The statue itself is surrounded by a puddle of molten gold and withered plants, the sight allowing the forming pit of despair in their guts to grow.
aka chocogi challenges themself on how to say you dont know anything about hypothermia without saying it directly

Kazuha x Albedo (gey)
Lees: Kazuha and Albedo
Lers: Kazuha and Albedo
Warnings: Tickles
______________________________________________________________
Albedo doesn’t know how he ended up in babysitting duty, and I’m not referring to Klee. What was supposed to be a simple outing turned into the alchemist bringing back his drunk boyfriend back to his lab.
Although he’s no stranger to dealing with drunkards (kaeya), this is the first time he’s witnessed the samurai so… out of it. Usually, Kazuha would pride himself on being composed and posed, both of those traits currently nowhere in sight.
The trip back to Dragonspine wasn’t so bad, aside from making sure that Kazuha didn’t tumble off the mountain and the occasional hiccupy giggles that came out of the samurai. Albedo would dare to think that they sounded cute, but this was no time to be swooning over his partner.
Once they made it back, Albedo tried to gingerly set his lover down on the couch, only for Kazuha to flop down on it ungraciously, leaving the alchemist a bit dumbfounded. Before he could say anything, he was suddenly hit with the retching smell of alcohol. “Ugh… you need to change”. Albedo felt his heart do a little flip when the samurai responded with more giggling.
“I believe I still have some of your spare clothing” the blonde left for a moment to look for said clothes, and when he went back, Kazuha was nowhere in sight. A small sense of panic started to course through Albedo, what if Kazuha walked back outside into the snow all by himself?! Oh archons…
Those anxious thoughts swirling in his brain would come to a quick stop when he was suddenly tackled onto the sofa. A startled yelp resounded in the room and the clean clothes went flying. Once Albedo was over the initial shock, he looked up to see his lover straddling him. A twinkle of mischief in his eyes that made Albedo feel uneasy.
“Kazuha…? Why don’t you get off so I can help you change?” Albedo threaded carefully, watching as Kazuha bopped his head back and forward before giving a firm shake of denial.
“Mm… I have a better idea~” the samurai hummed, a playful smile stretching over his lips. The alchemist wasn’t sure what to expect, but it certainly wasn’t this.
“Ah-! Wahait, Kazuha…!” Albedo could feel how his composure shattered the instant those pesky hands found his sides, squeezing in such a precise, ticklish manner that made the blonde want to crawl out of his skin. He had to admit, it was kind of impressive how Kazuha still retained some coordination, too bad it involved tickling him.
Kazuha chuckled along, lowering himself until he was laying on top of Albedo, fully pinning down the alchemist. The samurai nuzzled his face into the crook of Albedo’s neck, all while his fingers kept playfully scratching up to his lover’s ribs.
“Heeeeh! Dohohon’t! This is nohot the time for thihihis- EEK! Kazuhahaha!” the chief alchemist couldn’t stop the ripples of laughter that forced their way out of his throat when Kazuha started nibbling at his ear. The longer this went on, the more he could feel his brain start to malfunction. In one last weak attempt to fight for his life, Albedo managed to reach his partner’s torso, quickly scribbling and squeezing along Kazuha’s sides.
“PFF! EEAHAHAHAAH!” it seemed as though the drunken state made Kazuha more ticklish. ‘Cute’, the alchemist thought to himself once more. He watched as his partner grew weak from the tickling, allowing him to flip their positions.
Albedo let out a sigh of relief that his own torment had stopped. He tried and failed miserably at shooting his lover a stern look. Kazuha was just way too cute, all smiley and laughing. “Alright, you’ve had your fun, now-” before Albedo could finish speaking, he was interrupted by the man underneath him. Though the energy had shifted to something more… reserved.
“Umm… tickle me again?” suddenly, Kazuha looked and sounded shy, though still clear enough for Albedo to hear him. The blonde had to admit, he was a bit surprised by the request. Although he always had a hunch that Kazuha found some enjoyment in this activity, with his frequent tickle attacks even outside of his drunken state, but never had he so blatantly asked to be on the receiving end. So, who was he to deny such an innocent request?
Albedo smiled down at him with a fond look “Of course. Now, hold on tight~” gloved fingers made contact with the hypersensitive skin that was Kazuha’s stomach. The blonde could feel his chest grown warm at the squeal of glee that escaped the samurai. He was clearly enjoying himself, laughing without a care in the world, not even trying to escape or stop the offending hands. Simply letting it happen. Albedo wouldn’t have it any other way.

Note
I’m pretty new to kaeya ships and I want to know how Kaebedo appeals to you!! /This isn't a sarcastic question I promise 😭
So far, the only ship I get is Rosakae because haha bi couple/girl that says bruhh x guy that says hiii
Do you have any recommended kaebedo fanfics? Thank you <33
i think the biggest appeal of kaebedo to me is the parallels between them. both are from khaenri'ah and were abandoned by a parent figure with an unclear mission on their shoulders and ended up finding a home in a place they fear they will have to betray one day. even without a romantic lens there is SO much potential here!!! they must know of each other's secret to some degree, there's no way they don't. they could form such a deep connection based on these shared origins. let them bond hoyoverse!!!!
its insane to me that kaeya and albedo have never exchanged more than five words in game when theres so much material to work with here.. especially because they DO know each other! the game tells us that! kaeya has an "about albedo" voiceline (Albedo, eh? Calm, collected, and incredibly talented. He's the type everybody likes, some even more so than others. What, you into him as well?), albedo doesnt have an "about kaeya" voiceline but he does mention him in one of his "more about albedo" ones (The time required to sketch portraits closely correlates with one's mood. I could spend half a day sketching Huffman, while I might only need three strokes of the pencil to sketch Kaeya — one for the face, one for the eyepatch string... and one for the eyepatch.) and, actually, pairing that with this
Tumblr media
from a past event i think we can say it's implied that albedo draws kaeya fairly often. kaeya seems to babysit klee frequently, which is all the more chance for them to get to know each other more..... they live in the same region and have so many themes in common LET THEM TALK! LET THEM TALK!! kaebedo as a ship is kind of built from the ground up with just minimal canon content and our wild imaginations but hey. the potential is right there. also i think they look cute together. anyway, fanfic recs, you say? i have some<3
Calcium, Carbonate, and Other Things That Run Bone-Deep by Princeliest
Albedo comes knocking at Kaeya's office door, and asks Kaeya to kill him. All in all, it's the worst falling-in-love experience that Kaeya has ever had. (Albedo fears a lot of things. He's never reached out for help with any of them, but he's also never had anyone see him and reach out first.)
this is genuinely one of the best fics ive ever read in my life it's SO good. i kept rotating it inside my mind for days afterwards. and the kaebedo dynamic here is one of my favorite renditions of it too!!!!! like they cannot live through a normal love story it has to be weird when they are both involved. and this fic executes the brand of weirdness i expect from kaebedo perfectly. the characterization for both of them was really good. warning for some body horror but if you're okay with that it's part of the charm in this fic i really enjoyed reading those parts
this wordless dance, in the night by untunedviola
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Kaeya mutters into Albedo’s chest. Albedo pulls him closer. Gentle fingers thread through his hair. “You don’t have to.” He sighs. “I know.” Kaeya’s relationship with his mother tongue, his family, and Albedo develops in fits in starts.
i just reread this while searching through recs on my bookmarks and!!!!!!!!! this is THE kaebedo relationship study EVER. it's so good. its more focused on kaeya since it's from his point of view but albedo is a central crucial part of it. it explores their connection to khaenri'ah and the connection they could have with each other because of it SO well it's really amazing! the angst is delightful i love this one.
and you should check out this author's other works!! seriously the way they write kaebedo is like the best ever. i havent read all of them but the ones i have read were immediate favorites. untunedviola if youre out there
The Curious Investigation on the Investigation Captain by evesbeve
“This is not an invitation to spoil me,” Albedo says through a bite, a hand over his mouth. “As you have with Klee.” “I have no idea what you are talking about," Kaeya laughs. “Although… would it really be that bad, if I wanted to take care of you?” (Or: When Sucrose mentions that she's been worried about Albedo and his constant cases of zoning out, Kaeya takes it upon himself to investigate the situation.)
a lighter, fluffier work to make up for the angst of the previous recs. so sweet youll get cavities honestly. works to read while giggling about how much you love these silly little characters. bonus ragbros and other mond characters. really nice read!!!!
i wish i had more recs but i really dont. i need to read more about them honestly.
im deeply sorry for taking like three months to answer!! many such cases im afraid. i hope my kaebedo propaganda has worked on you or anyone else reading this

Mondstadt | Lost In You
ıllı Synopsis: Lost in your eyes, in your voice, and in your touch. Even with a simple turn, these men are captivated. For them, there is only you.
ıllı Genre: Romance, Fluff, Slight Angst
ıllı Notes: Gender Neutral Reader
ıllı A/N: I really enjoyed writing this one! The characters might be a bit out of character, but when in love, I guess they can’t be faulted.

🍁 ALBEDO KREIDEPRINZ — PRINCEPS CRETACEUS
Tumblr media
Ever since the Traveler quelled the anger and corruption residing in Stormterror’s heart, the winds within Old Mondstadt had calmed down. It was safer to explore even when alone, but caution was still exercised considering the number of monsters remaining in the area. As one of the researchers in the Knights of Favonius, you were delighted to uncover the unknown history of Decarabian’s sovereignty. Most artifacts unearthed from the rubbles deep in the spire tower were barely hanging by a thread. You had the mistake of holding a stack of paper there only for it to crumble. Even with alchemy, it could only hold for a few hours.
“Every day, I’m grateful for Albedo’s patience in teaching me alchemy. None of these would reach Mondstadt even with careful transportation. Hmm? This is… a diary of Amos?” You muttered, recalling the tragic love story between her and Decarabian. From what historians had written, Amos was Decarabian’s lover whom she begged to see the outside world. Her pleas fell on deaf ears, and so she joined the rebels. During the war, she was brutally killed by none other than her lover.
Historians said that she delusions herself into thinking that Decarabian loved her, and if she were to join the other side, she might get him to look her way again and see the birds fly. Her love was never reciprocated to begin with, they say. However, a part of you thought that the former Anemo Archon must have held affection for her. You knew that Decarabian was a cowardly god keen on keeping his people safe, even in despotic ways. The people of Old Mondstadt saw this as tyranny.
“Decarabian probably thought that this was the best solution. He chose to accept the hate of his people in place of his love. Gods can be narrow-minded at times. He might have found a better solution if he had communicated with the other gods. Of course, I have no qualms with Barbatos, just that….” You stopped, eyes boring at the diary in your lap. During their final moments, what face did Decarabian make when he slayed her? What about Amos?
Tears welled up in your eyes just imagining the heartache of such a tale. It might be one-sided, just as historians claimed, but there could also be a hidden story unseen by the naked eye. Decarabian must have cherished Amos at one point in his life, but how desire blinded him. There was no telling what was running in the god’s mind. Carefully closing the book, you heaved out a sigh and reminisced about your relationship with the Chief Alchemist. Albedo was usually out in Dragonspine for his experiment. Oftentimes, he would come back to the city to check up on you and Klee and report to Jean. He tried to spend time with you, but it was rare. One could measly count the number of times Albedo took you out on a date with their hands compared to the number he spent with Sucrose and Timaeus.
“But I can’t be jealous because Sucrose and Timaeus are sweet people. Albedo also assured me that… we will go to the Windblume Festival together.” You sighed, pulling your knees closer to your chest.
Momentarily, you heard light footsteps coming your way. You glanced behind. Lo and behold, it was Albedo. He was about to ask about your findings until he noticed your red-rimmed eyes. The Chief Alchemist paled, panic starting to settle in his guts.
“Why are you crying, Flower? Did something happen?” He kneeled by your side and cupped your cheeks, wiping the tears that slid down your eyes. His familiar warmth engulfed your senses, and you wanted nothing more than just be selfish, to tell him your deepest desires.
Albedo noticed a diary in your lap, and based on the tenuous pages peaking from the leather cover, it must be one of the ancient relics you dug up. He gave you the ‘Please explain’ look, which you did. Theories and thoughts about Old Mondstadt quickly flew out of your lips as he listened attentively. He noticed one particular topic you seemed so eager about: Amos and Decarabian.
“I see. Indeed, we can never know the thoughts running in a god’s mind, but it doesn’t mean they cannot be understood. I saw cowardice in Decarabian, but he tried to love his people in his way. It was seen as tyranny because he could not communicate properly with them. As for Amos, her love is commendable. She was true to her heart, but in the end, only Decarabian could say if she truly reached him. My view of relationships back then was different. I found it bothersome, especially when maintaining it, but now, I see it as something to look forward to. Do you know why it is, (Y/N)?” He asked, a strange twinkle evident in his eyes. You gave him a confused look which elicited a chuckle from him. He held your right cheek and pulled you for a quick kiss.
“It’s because I get to feel the warmth you humans give. You make me feel like I can be myself in your arms and have nothing to worry about. Lastly, amongst the spectacular sceneries I’ve seen, you are the most fascinating.” He admitted. Your lips quivered at his words. Albedo spoke the assurance you needed, even without you asking for it. You held his hand and looked him in the eyes.
“Do you think we can have a date this week, ‘Bedo? I really missed you.” You asked, a hint of hope tainting your tone. He smiled and kissed your forehead.
“Yes, I’d like that. We can do anything you want.”
Tumblr media
🍁 DILUC RAGNVINDR — NOCTUA
Tumblr media
“Oh, dear. It seems like you really have not seen your spouse.” Kaeya remarked, surprised about his brother’s casual demeanor. He meant the usual glare and sarcastic attitude the redhead always gives him. The Cavalry Captain slowly sat down in his chair and tilted his head. Irritated by this, Diluc turned to him.
“What do you want?” He gruffly asked. Kaeya raised his hands in concession. The star-eyed male told him he saw you irritated beside the flower stand, mumbling about ungrateful husbands and substandard communications with their partner. Poor Flora, the young one instantly became the target of your anger.
After hearing his words, Diluc paled. He wondered if he had forgotten an important date lately or did not give you enough attention. There was no such moment, but it could be him deceiving himself. Kaeya noticed that change in his demeanor as he furiously wiped the glass and ignored the other side's shoutings. Luckily, Charles was there to keep them civil, at the very least.
“Did you do something, Diluc?” He asked, a hint of teasing evident in his tone, which he immediately masked with a serious one. The redhead gulped and immediately diverted his eyes from anyone. He was sure that there was nothing he forgot or did not do. The date you two planned was still in two days. Plus, he already had everything ready.
“I-I’m not sure, but this is none of your business, Kaeya. Why are you even telling me this?” He asked, finally finding it suspicious. Kaeya shrugged and commented that you were his in-law. He wanted nothing but happiness in your relationship.
Diluc was far from convinced, but he soon found himself thinking about why you ranted about such topics. You two promised to be honest with each other, even at inconvenient times. He remembered you brutally informed him of his dry fashion that Adelinde even joined you. He sulked for a day until you pampered him.
‘Should I wait for them at home early? Charles can handle the bar for the night, and… maybe I could get them some flowers too.’ He thought. Firm with his decision, he approached Charles and talked about it. The bartender was not surprised by his boss’ actions, so he let him go. However, he was curious about the Cavalry Captain.
“Young Master, you know it’s not Master Diluc that (Y/N) had been mouthing off, right?” He asked while preparing the captain’s usual order of Death After Noon.
“Hmm? I don’t know what you’re talking about, Charles. Oh, can you give me some skewers as well?” He grinned. Charles merely shook his head.
Once you were home from your commissions, you were surprised to see Diluc sitting on the couch, tapping his foot nervously. Not only were you confused by his behavior, but also the fact that he was home early. You were aware of his night activities and busy schedule, but that did not stop you from marrying the man. There was no celebration today, and the date you two scheduled was two days away.
“Honey, why are you home early? And why do you look skittish?” You asked, giving Adelinde your groceries before sitting down beside him.
Instantly, you had a bouquet of Cecilias and Windwheel Asters on your face. You were baffled by the gift, but more so when your husband spouted apologies and nonsense in your wake. It was until you told him to slow down that you could understand what he was saying.
“Kaeya told me that you were irked by my lack of affection and gratitude, but please know that I appreciate you, Love. Every day I wake up, I’m grateful that you chose me. I can’t even begin about the things I love about you but—“ You immediately placed a finger on his lips, your cheeks flushed at his words. He was a man of few words, but this? It was too much for your heart.
“I’m sorry, Honey. I think I know what you’re talking about. It’s my commission. One couple placed a commission for me to be a delivery person to give their angry lover flower and gifts with so little money. I got mad because the guy could not even spend a little more for his lover. It’s not you, I promise.” You sheepishly explained, but when you turned to him, Diluc had a scary aura surrounding him.
“That… stupid icicle… He’s going to pay for this.” He muttered. You shook your head, then cupped his cheeks.
“I appreciate every word you said, though. It’s not often you assure me why you married the little old me. Even though our date is two days away, do you want to have a little fun dinner with me, Honey? We can cuddle after.” You suggested. Diluc huffed before pulling you closer to him, nodding at the suggestion. Caressing his hair, you gave him a peck.
“I love you, (Y/N).” He whispered, nuzzling your stomach.
“I love you too, Diluc.”
The next day, Kaeya was banned from Angel’s Share for a week. You patted his shoulder in condolence before leaving for your commissions.

🍁 KAEYA ALBERICH — PAVO OCELLUS
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe it! It’s actually snowing this year. Kaeya, look! The street is already covered in white.” You voiced, eyes twinkling at the wonderland ahead of you. The Cavalry Captain was also in awe as it did not snow in Mondstadt last year. It was frigid but not snowing, which was unfortunate.
“Be careful now, Snowflake. You might slip in thin air before you know it.” He teased. You glared at him, but you skidded down the stairs just as he said that. It was so sudden that Kaeya had little time to react. He reached for your left hand and covered you with his body.
Landing with a thud, you glanced at Kaeya and fussed for any injuries. His periwinkle-blue orbs watched you momentarily before pulling down with him for a kiss. Before you could react, he pulled away with a cheeky smile.
“You dummy! I was worried, and you kiss me? Geez!” You huffed, cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Kaeya got up and brushed the snow off your head before pulling you up.
“You just looked beautiful, Snowflake. No need to get embarrassed. How about we order the special hot chocolate at Sarah's?” He urged. Your attention was immediately piqued. Not only was their special hot chocolate good, but it was also perfect for the day’s weather.
When you arrived, there was already a line for the drink. Children and couples were out for the day, which warmed your heart. Kaeya noticed your contented face and squeezed your hand. A grin made its way to your face. Soon, it was your turn to order.
“Two cups, please! And… could you more mallows in mine, Sarah?” You hoped. Already knowing your sweet tooth, the owner complied.
“Can’t get enough of sweetness when you’re already so sweet with your lover, (Y/N)?” She teased. You pouted, to which they chuckled. Truly adorable for anyone.
After getting your orders, you two walked towards the bridge and watched the sky blanket Mondstadt in white. You tiptoed forward to get a better look, but Kaeya held your arm in warning. You gave him a bashful look before leaning on his side.
“I wish we could spend more time like this.” You unconsciously muttered. A regretful gleam crossed his eyes, which disappeared as you tightened your hold on his jacket.
“Thank you for this. I can’t wait for our next date.” A grateful smile presented itself on your face. Kaeya nuzzled his head on your neck and kissed it.
“I promise. Next time, we’ll have a longer date. Maybe we can go to Sumeru like you’ve always wanted.” He teased. You lightly laughed, tightening your hold on his. It was a silent promise between you two.

🍁 VENTI — CARMEN DEI
Tumblr media
The first day of the Windblume Festival had ended, and there were a lot of new faces around. Most of the people you met were from Sumeru, and they were an interesting batch. Personally, you found the General Maha— apologies, Adventurer Cyno the most entertaining. His unusual jokes even amused Albedo, yet his companions seemed tired of his musings. However, they faced a conundrum that could only be solved with their shared efforts. You prayed to Barbatos that he would keep them safe in their endeavors.
Speaking of Barbatos, the windborne bard was nowhere to be seen. You knew he might be drinking his alcohol somewhere in Mondstadt, but it was unusual for him not to tell you a thing or two. The only interaction you had with him was when you left your shared house to help with the festivities.
“And I brought his favorite apple pie and Dandelion wine too. What a bummer. Could he be at the oak tree again?” You muttered, feet taking you to the said destination. However, the moment your gaze landed on the area, there was no hint of Venti being there. It started to worry you. Shifting your eyes to the sky, you sighed.
Suddenly, a familiar tune reached your ears. It was muddled, but you recognized it as the music Venti had been playing and revising for days. It was good as it was, but he pressed that it needed to be the best. For what reason? He did not say.
Following the tune in the wind, you found yourself in Starsnatch Cliff. The starry sky captivated you. The intricate details filled your mind with wonder.
‘Even though we’re so small compared to the vast sky, I’m still grateful to see this beauty in my life.’ You thought. The wind blew once again, and it carried a new tune. This time, it was complete and full of emotions.
Venti sat by the cliff, still playing the tune he had revised for this moment. The winds whispered your arrival, and he knew that you would prefer to listen in silence, so he did. Every note the bard took bewitched your heart, falling deeper in your affections. By the time he was done, he had smiled at you and urged you to sit beside him.
“Did you like my gift to you, Windblume?” He anxiously asked. You blinked owlishly. It was his Windblume gift for you. No wonder it felt like it was composed in your image.
“I did, Venti. It was the most beautiful piece I’ve heard in my life.” You voiced, a soft smile gracing your lips. He took your right hand and pecked it.
“All for you, my dear Windblume. Oh? Is that Dandelion wine I smell?” An excited gleam twinkled in his eyes. You shook your head at his enthusiasm before taking out the food you had prepared for him.
“Since my Windblume cooked my favorite dish for me, I shall gift you another precious item!” He exclaimed.
Before you could ask, a single Cecilia appeared in his hand. You could tell that it was different from the other species around you. Venti grinned and claimed he used his power to protect and preserve the flower. Hence, it would not wither away or get damaged when you are out for commissions. You reached for it and smiled. It seemed like all Venti did for today was make your lips curl up. A contented sigh left your lips before you went for your surprise.
“Huh—“ You pulled Venti down for a soft kiss. He tasted sweet, a hint of Dandelion wine on his tongue. The archon flushed at the intimacy, but he welcomed it. Venti slumped on your figure while you held his cheek to deepen the kiss. It was not usual that he got to see this side of you. He loved it.
“Happy Windblume Festival, Venti.”

BeeTober 2023 Day 11 - Falling apart
They have just put Klee to bed when it bursts out of Kaeya.
“Let’s have more kids.”
Albedo blinks at him as Kaeya’s brain tries to catch up to what his mouth just blurted out and he doesn’t know what it means that he’s faster with it than Albedo.
“Forget I said that,” he rushes out just as quickly and walks away from Albedo who is still quiet behind him, though he does follow.
“I didn’t know you wanted more kids,” Albedo says when he catches up to him in the kitchen and Kaeya busies himself with cleaning up dinner.
It’s Albedo’s turn today, since Kaeya cooked, but he needs to keep his hands busy for now.
“I—” Kaeya starts but then cuts himself off.
He didn’t know he wanted kids in the first place, not before Albedo and Klee stepped into his life, but ever since that happened he finds himself thinking that one more kid in their house couldn’t hurt at the strangest times.
Klee would love it too, he’s sure about it.
“Let’s forget about it, petal,” he finally whispers out and knows Albedo will not grant him that mercy when he pulls a chair out to sit.
“Kaeya, come sit, please,” he says, his voice very calm and Kaeya’s shoulder’s rise up to his ears.
He’s not a fan of this tone of voice but he should have guessed that Albedo whips it out. They have never talked about more kids before this and for him to just blurt it out like that—
“Fine,” Kaeya mutters and puts the plates back down to sit at the table with Albedo.
“I didn’t know you felt that way,” Albedo says, his voice still eerily calm and Kaeya can’t meet his eyes.
“I didn’t know either,” Kaeya gives back. “It’s just—it seems so easy with you and Klee and I can’t help but to think that a bigger family would be nice.”
“I—” Albedo falls silent without finishing his thoughts and that is rare enough that new worry settles into Kaeya’s gut.
“You can just say no, you know,” he tells him with a small smile, finally raising his eyes to meet Albedo’s.
“I never wanted to be a dad,” Albedo says. “It wasn’t planned that Alice shoves her kid on me and then fucks off. I never wanted to be a dad and it barely feels right to be a big brother to Klee. And I—I don’t want to be a dad. Not to a kid of our own,” Albedo admits and his face twists in that way that tells Kaeya he thinks he’s done something wrong. “Sorry.”
“That’s fine,” Kaeya whispers and reaches out for his hand, threading their fingers together. “Albedo, that’s perfectly fine.”
“But you want to be a dad. How is it fine if I don’t.”
“Well, we both feel how we feel, right? I’m happy with what we have right now. Are you?”
“Of course I am,” Albedo immediately says, squeezing Kaeya’s hand. “I was so overwhelmed at first with Klee, and work but with you it feels—easier. It feels doable. But not for more than Klee.”
“Petal, you don’t have to keep saying that, I get it. I just wanted to know if you like how it is right now. Don’t think about more kids, just think about now.”
“I love how it is right now,” Albedo says and then bites his lip in a way that means he’s trying to stop himself from saying more.
“Then we’ll keep it how it is,” Kaeya easily says, because what else is there to say, really.
It was a fleeting thought anyway and Kaeya would happily discard it for all of eternity if it means he gets to keep Albedo and Klee by his side.
“And—you’ll be fine with that?”
“Of course. It was just a thought, really. We never talked about it, and I really shouldn’t have sprung it on you like that anyway, so it’s fine. I am happy right now, too. I love you.”
“I love you,” Albedo gives back and Kaeya has to laugh at the relief that is so very clear on his face. “What?”
“It’s kind of funny how stressed just that comment made you,” Kaeya chuckles out and then laughs for real when Albedo pouts at him.
“It’s not funny, Kaeya, you scared me.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. I didn’t really think.”
“Clearly,” Albedo mutters, rolling his eyes at Kaeya and Kaeya knows they’ll be alright.
~*~*~
“Kaeya!” Albedo’s voice sounds urgent enough that Kaeya gets up from the couch with a grumble.
Albedo went to get the door so Kaeya could stay exactly where he was and now this just feels cruel.
“What? Who is it?” Kaeya asks and freezes when he comes to a stop next to Albedo.
There’s a woman on the other side of the door; a woman holding a child in her arms.
“What is this?”
“She says it’s yours,” Albedo faintly says and Kaeya blinks.
“I’m with child protection services. Have you not been informed?”
“No?” Kaeya asks, feelings as if he is having an out of body experience. “Informed about what?”
“The mother put you down as the father on the birth certificate. She’s unfit to take care of him, so you should have been contacted and informed about this.”
“I haven’t,” Kaeya whispers out, his eyes dropping to the child. “How old is he?”
“One year and three months,” the woman helpfully says and Kaeya sways on the spot.
He had been with Albedo already at that time. Even if they add the nine months to that, Kaeya had already been with Albedo.
“Petal—”
“I’m inside if you need me,” Albedo says and promptly turns on his heels and walks away from the door and from Kaeya.
And just like that, his entire life is falling apart around Kaeya.
“Am I right to assume that you have nothing prepared?” the woman asks and Kaeya nods, still shell-shocked.
“We have a child here, but she’s almost six, so I doubt that would help.”
“I see. Well, seeing as you weren’t properly informed and you’re not prepared, I’ll take him back with me for now, but you should expect a call tomorrow to clear things up. You are his father after all.”
“Sure,” Kaeya gives back on autopilot, wondering how in the hell he’s ever going to explain this to Albedo when he doesn’t even understand it himself. “Mind if I ask—who is the mother?”
The woman gives him a look but Kaeya is too numb to be bothered by it.
“Angela,” the woman says, not even giving him a last name. “You know someone with that name?”
“Yeah, I do,” Kaeya mutters. She’s a former classmate of his; he had seen her at their high school reunion two years ago but she hadn’t seemed pregnant back then.
And he certainly didn’t have a hand in that.
“You’re not the father, are you?” the woman asks him much gentler then, clearly picking up on his distress and Kaeya shakes his head.
“I’m not.”
“She did put you down in the certificate though, so an official paternity test will have to clear this up. You up for that?”
“Sure,” Kaeya whispers out and then shoots a look over his shoulder. “Can we—talk on the phone, tomorrow, though. I have to—” he points inside the apartment and the face of the woman softens slightly.
“Sure. I’ll call you tomorrow.”
She’s about to turn away when Kaeya stops her.
“What’s his name?”
“Bennett,” she says without stopping and Kaeya nods to himself.
He doesn’t know why he even wanted to know; it’s not as if he’s his or as if he’s going to be responsible for him.
Kaeya takes a moment to gather himself after he closes the door before he goes to find Albedo.
He’s on the couch, his hands clasped tightly and he looks about as unhappy as Kaeya feels.
“Petal, I—”
“Where did she go?” Albedo interrupts him.
“Back. We—there are still things to be cleared up.”
“There are,” Albedo says, his voice just as hard as his eyes when they meet Kaeya’s.
“I didn’t cheat on you.”
“Why would someone wrongly put you down as the father?” Albedo asks him at the same moment and Kaeya’s mouth drops open.
“You’re not—even asking?”
“What would I be asking, Kaeya? I know you love me and I would never doubt that you’re faithful to me. Why would you think I wouldn’t?”
“I just—she stood there with a kid and said it was mine!”
“And it isn’t, is it?”
“Of course it’s not! He’s not mine. I don’t know why she would do that to Bennett, but he’s not mine!”
“Bennett, huh?” Albedo mutters. “You know the mother?”
“I do,” Kaeya sighs out and drops down on the couch next to Albedo and tries not to cry tears of joy when Albedo immediately moves close and takes his hand. “I went to high school with her. I met her at the reunion two years ago, remember that?”
“I remember that you went and that I was very adamant on staying here,” Albedo says with a smile that quickly turns into a frown. “Maybe I should have joined you.”
“I didn’t shut up about you and Klee all evening. She definitely knows I’m gay and taken. I don’t know why she would do that.”
“The woman said the mother is unfit to take care of him, right? Maybe she already knew that at the time of his birth.”
“But why me?”
“Did you gush a lot about Klee?” Albedo asks and Kaeya instantly nods.
He doesn’t remember all of that evening—it has been two years after all—but he is certain he didn’t shut up about Albedo and Klee because he never does. It all he ever really talks about.
“She probably thinks you could take good care of him, then,” Albedo says as if that is the only possible solution and Kaeya scoffs.
“Yeah, right,” he mutters.
They fall quiet for a moment, both lost in their own thoughts, and Kaeya wonders how long a paternity test takes. How long it will be before this mess can be cleared up.
“I’m getting a paternity test, to refute the claim,” he tells Albedo, because he’s not sure he heard that last part of his conversation with the woman.
Albedo is quiet for long enough that Kaeya turns a worried gaze on him.
“Petal?”
“Or you could not,” Albedo mumbles but he meets Kaeya’s gaze head on.
“What? Albedo, what are you talking about?”
“I’m just—thinking.”
“You don’t want any kids! I’m not—” Kaeya falls silent, despair filling his entire being when a devastating thought enters his head. “Are you going to leave me?” he then whispers out and he forces himself to not tighten his grip on Albedo.
“Why would I ever leave you?” Albedo asks and leans in for a kiss. “I love you. I’m not going to leave you.”
“What is this about then?” Kaeya asks feeling almost faint with relief.
“We’re doing okay with Klee, right?”
“We’re doing awesome with Klee,” Kaeya immediately corrects him because they are.
“And she wasn’t planned at all. Neither for you nor for me. Alice just dropped her off with me and then never returned.”
“And you hated that,” Kaeya reminds him because he still doesn’t see where this is going.
“I did. But it all worked out so well and I just can’t help but to think—what if this ends well, too? I mean, the mother put you down as the father for a reason; she must have seen something in you that made her think you could take care of him. And I mean—I see that with Klee every day. You’re so good with her and to her and I just think—Bennett deserves the same.”
“Albedo, you said you don’t want any more kids,” Kaeya reminds him yet again because he still very vividly remembers that talk even though it has been a few months since then.
“Because the thought scares me. And it scares me still. But think about it; all the unplanned things in our lives have worked out so good for us. And this is as unplanned as it gets.”
“It is,” Kaeya agrees and he has a hard time wrapping his head around what Albedo is saying. “So you’re saying—”
“Don’t get a paternity test. Let’s just pretend he’s yours and let’s just see where this will take us.”
“You hate unplanned things like that,” Kaeya can’t help but to argue because he can’t believe that Albedo could suggest this.
“I do,” Albedo agrees easily. “But I love you. And I think together we can do this. Don’t you?”
“Albedo, we can do anything together. We’re basically raising a pyromaniac and we somehow managed to prevent her from burning anything down yet. We can do anything. As long as we’re together.”
“Together,” Albedo agrees and squeezes his hand. “If it’s together, then let’s do it. Let’s give Bennett a good life, okay?”
“I love you,” Kaeya breathes out, tears in his eyes and Albedo immediately leans in to kiss them away.
It’s definitely not going to be easy, and it’s so far from everything Albedo and Kaeya have planned for their future but Kaeya can’t help but to agree with Albedo. If it’s together, then they can do it, plans be damned.
“I love you, too,” Albedo whispers. “You and both our kids.”
It’s ridiculous enough that it makes Kaeya laugh, because they don’t even have Bennett yet, but he pulls Albedo into his arms, pressing his face to his hair.
“Both our kids,” he agrees with a whisper and he just knows that Albedo is smiling just like he is.
Together, they can do it.

" Okay, Mr. 'Li! "
His patience with her is appreciated on all sides. By no means is Albedo a stranger to conflict; it came with being a KNIGHT, after all, even if his contributions came more in the form of alchemy than extra bodies on the battlefield, but such did not mean he actively sought them out, or even preferred to involve himself in tense matters. When the vase had first crashed to the ground, dragging all those in the room to a pregnant silence as they merely stood there and STARED, Albedo had feared it would escalate into something unsalvageable.
Mr. Zhongli, thankfully, appeared to be a very kind, understanding man.
Tumblr media
" Of course. I will endeavor to have it complete as soon as possible. " The alchemist watches Klee, briefly, before turning his attentions back to the consultant, his own inquisitive expression coming to view. A rather RANDOM inquiry, at least, deemed so until he considered the full context of the transition into this discussion. " Yes, I have. I am no expert, but I am . . . relatively familiar with the craft. Why do you ask ? "
Tumblr media
Procuring this specific Ming vase was by no means an easy feat. Even for someone with as many connections in Liyue as Zhongli does, it had still taken the consultant two weeks of searching throughout the nation for a credible merchant willing to part for it at a decent price. Therefore, he cannot say that he is not stricken with a measure of dismay as the fruits of his labour now laid on the ground, shattered into many pieces. What a pity.
Be that as it may, he sees no cause in holding a grudge against children. Especially when this one is clearly repentant for her actions. He is sure to let her know that there aren’t any hard feelings by setting a gloved hand on top of her hat and patting her lightly.
“Be careful not to prick yourself on the shards, my dear. I’ll take care of the tricky smaller pieces.”
Her companion’s efforts to pay him for the ruined vase is met with a gentle smile and Zhongli shakes his head. “That is quite alright. I have no need for repayment,” the consultant continues. “But I shall accept your generosity of offering the commissioned artwork at no cost.”
Stooping to pick up some shards, a pensive expression settles on his features momentarily before he speaks once again.
“Have you ever heard about Kintsugi, Mr. Albedo?”

i simply think it is so fun to imagine a world where a company makes a bunch of androids to assist people and provide companionship so they give the androids stories and release them in certain themes or lines and those androids are the genshin characters. credit to @yandere-daydreams for the idea. i love it so much. yes we all want x character to be our boyfriend or girlfriend and we have sex with them yes but i think its fun to imagine their roles when theyre not being yandere...
also the read more is very long i just went off about my ideas for most of the mondstadt characters. nothing wrong with me
if this is set in teyvats world imagine amber being like a gliding instructor in mondstadt. good engineer too, maybe the first bot that can fix other bots/have intricate knowledge of them (because she made baron bunny).
for human injuries theres barbara and jean, but with different temperaments for different patients. or if we're still set in teyvat, then jean (and the rest of the favonius knights characters) are actually android assistants to the actual human knights. basically the androids replace vision holders??
but yeah kaeya would also be a knight assistant, noelles story is she trains super hard but still isnt a knight (because shes made to help actual trainees!). lisa of course manages the library. yeah sorry thats it. makes tea
and i had the idea (this is all stolen from my own twitter thread from *checks* last year? anyway) that they would tease the release of bots like diluc, rosaria and razor through voicelines from kaeya, barbara and lisa. really like the idea of razor originally being some sort of surveillance android for wolvendom/integrating with them in some way for research and sort of became a guide for people who get lost in wolvendom.
diona and diluc are two different types of bartenders, one is good against people who cant say no to a cute (angry) kitty and the others... are those require some intimidation.
VENTI. god, i think itd be cool if they had prototype models for the seven archons and actual venti bots now definitely play into the "broke bard who plays for alcohol" thing. but of course anyone with eyes knows that his original model was the barbatos android.
oh!! and bennett and fischl being adventurers buddies. bennett is "unlucky" but hes actually like, wired to be hypervigilant and take hits for you while he shrugs it off. and fischl comes with oz if you need some chuuni speech translated, but you can disable that if you want to go full rp with her.
*looks at my thread* oh yeah "Albedo is made for the alchemists in the Knights, and he was meant to be released with Klee, but there was a delay because his ai kept experimenting on its own copies (Flowerfell Albedo?)" ngl i didnt play the albedo event and never bothered to watch a video so i dont know the full extent of his lore here. oh right and i added "sucrose is made to keep an eye on him in the labs" lmao
klee is. i suppose made for the knights. a cute energetic girl to keep morale up, whos fireproof and thus able to scout dangerous areas/bomb them if you so wish.
oh yeah i wrote that the church was not happy about the rosaria bots being made so they relegated her to guarding dragonspine against foolish adventurers. as to why she keeps appearing in bars, well, uh. No comment — Celestia Inc.
the lawrence clan wanted in on this business and sponsored a representative of their family, but mondstadts opinion of them is less than friendly, so the knights compromise and make eula, a lawrence knight.
whew okay for some reason i was able to churn out a lot for mondstadt and then everyone else i was like uh yeah. they exist and do things similar to what they do in game like xiangling being a cook's aide. yep. idk why the mondstadt worldbuilding gripped me so hard like that.
also my last thought is that maybe the hilichurls are just the verryyy alpha version of their bots, the khaenri'ah line (i think daydream mentioned this) and maybe just broke down and went rogue/abandoned. so now they make better bots to fight them and keep people safe. go figure. earns them a ton of cash though. lol imagine if getting them was a lottery too....

4.5 Codes & Banner Schedules <3
the "keep reading" contains the phases, as well as the new wish banner being added (including its options and how it works)
I'd also like to make note that for those unaware, ifyou have accoints on multiple serves under the same email (ie NA & EU, for example), you can get the codes on all the accounts ^^
that being said..
DAKTDBWTZTYR - 100 Primogems and 10 Mystic Enhancement Ore AT3BDSWTYBKD - 100 Primogems and 5 Hero's Wit 5TKAUAWAGBJR - 100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora
banner schedule:
phase 1: chiori & itto phase 2: neuvillette & kazuha
new event wish- "chronicled wish" being added, with a mix of standard banner & limited characters and weapons c: diluc, mona, jean, eula, albedo, klee w: broken down based on weapon category (all 5)
beacon of the red sea, song of broken pines, wolf's gravestone, skyward pride
lost prayer to the sacred winds, skyward atlas
skyward blade, aquila favonius
skyward spine
hunter's path, skyward harp
similar to weapon banner(?), you're able to choose which weapon & which 5* you wanna pull for (which one is your 'designated' 5* character/weapon). unclear if that means it's guaranteed or not. maximum of one fate point to guarantee the target…which sounds an awful lot like the weapon banner ^^" quoting zach aguilar, "you're also guaranteed one item that matches your target type. for example, if you're targeting a specific 5* character, whatever you end up pulling is guaranteed to be a character. the same is true for weapon pulls."
edit- there's both a twitter thread and reddit post with FAQ for the new event banner

.          klee has arrived at the lantern rite festival alongside her older brother, @spidergourmet !
Tumblr media
━━━━ little sun practically buzzed with excitement, suddenly overwhelmed by the thought of having everything and nothing at her fingertips; hands that knew the burn of lights unlike those that would soon fill the lanterns scattered across the pathways. scarlet eyes widened just a tad when she managed to sneak a peek through the curtain of the window, as if unable to express just how curious she was.
it mattered not that the lantern rite was simply in the beginnings of its performance━━for all of teyvat, she reminded herself. throughout the night, klee would be in the presence of natives and foreigners. faces she could recognize and those she couldn’t match a name to face for. and that thought, in its simplest form, made klee feel…
small, in a way. it made her realize just how large the world really was; how tiny she and her heart was in comparison. but the fear that gripped her chest and pursed her lips into a trembling pout disappeared once an abrupt halt of the carriage forced her to rock back against albedo’s arm. the tiny contraption she had been fidgeting with━━twisting knobs, resetting the locks of each button, syncing the gear rotations━━fell into her lap, clicking shut and folding in on itself as a result.
but klee was so starry-eyed that the possibility of it slipping entirely hardly reached her. “are we here? albedo, are we here? did we make it, finally?” she exclaimed, pushing the contraption off of her lap and freeing her arms from the strap of her rucksack before stumbling out of the carriage’s backdoor.
when her boots had hit the earth, little sun would have been gone in a sprint if not for albedo’s hands quickly hoisting her into his hold. she shouted on instinct, laughing and kicking her feet as he carried her back to the... oh, right!
“teehee, sorry, big brother! klee forgot we brought our equipment with us… hehe… can we at least, unpack after it turns dark? klee wants to see what stalls they’re gonna have open tonight! how else will we know what to take as a souvenir?" little sun pressed her hands together, smiling big and bright enough to hurt, "please? pretty pretty please with a pretty spider on top━━?”

He’s worked too hard for this to not work.
Thick, cold ichor spelled out foreign words around an intricate octogram.
He had to go to far places for the requirements, and with Teyvat crumbling under his feet, it was getting more dangerous for either him or Klee to come out of Khaenri’ah’s haunting ruins.
It was still a mystery to him how the faded, cracking walls of the palace still held up. Maybe Teyvat itself knew.
A red claw from a Daemon, a broken-off, shining horn from a Dragonoid not unlike an opal, an elemental spirit trapped in a jar, a broken vial of blood from a True Giant, the atlas bone of the last Divine Ancestor, a feather of a Fallen, the heart of a Demonoid, and simple slime condensate from a Hydro Slime.
All of them are covered in syrupy, cold divine blood, and they thrummed with power not native to Teyvat.
Not that Albedo cared. He simply wanted the godling in the golden cocoon alive and well.
Ha may not have had any ties to the Creator, but Klee does. And maybe, he’ll find his answers and gain another little sibling.
All eight requirements sat on their respective corners of the Octogram, and as he quietly whispers unfamiliar words into the ruins’ stale air, the Octogram glowed brightly.
Klee peeks her head out from behind one of the pillars.
Albedo stands a little ways away from the Octogram, his back to his little sister.
“Are we going to be okay?”
“..yes. It’s okay, Klee. We will be okay. And we’ll get a new friend.”
Elven ears perk up. “Will they like Jumpty Dumpty?”
A timid, tired chuckle. “I’m sure they will.”
The golden threads around the icy body started to move, like they’ve woken up.
The blood bubbles and evaporates, not leaving any mark on the dirtied and faded royal carpet. the eight requirements on the eight bloody corners vibrated and dissolved into blue pixels.
Albedo sighs quietly. “Come, Klee. Let’s make something for the Creator, okay? I’m sure they’re hungry.”
Klee perks up and skips over to her tired brother., giggling happily.
Your eyes flutter, and you wake up surrounded by now-inanimate golden thread in a dilapidated throne room. You blink blearily and and sit up, looking around to lock onto Albedo’s worried gaze.
Albedo quietly offers you food and a glass of water. “Good afternoon, are you okay?”
You sniffle in a pitiful manner and accept the shared food, before shaking your head no.
His arms wrap around you while you eat, Klee offering her hugs as well, and the three of you huddle for comfort in the palace ruins.
Teyvat’s destruction halts to a stop. Your cheeks go damp with sparkling tears.
And despite him lacking both warmth and chill, you find comfort and safety wrapped in his arms.
A part two was requested by three people, and i was like, okay, but i really just wanted that drabble to get out of my drafts already because its been in there for almost a half year. no beta we die like teppei
idk man but part one works as standalone, someone just wanted this scenario and so i stuffed it with an anime reference

I am SO excited to share my upcoming projects (I say this as if I'm not on another writer's block). Most—if not all—of which are tied to my undercover teyvat universe!
Please take this as an interest check too! Feel free to reblog/reply, I would love to hear people's feedback! If you're interested, please do give my first fic a go to get acquainted with the Undercover Teyvat Universe! a
off the precipice, a Xiao × Lumine Spy!AU. (Reader discretion is strong advised)
And! Please do let me know if you want to be added into the taglist of any of these projects!
Anyway, here are the (tentative) titles for my upcoming projects:
with a comma after dearest (Al Haitham x Reader)
Inspired by the lyrics from Take a Break (Hamilton Soundtrack). This will be a (stand alone) part two to the complexities of simplicity.
Follows your and Al Haitham's blooming friendship—quite a huge time skip from the complexities of simplicity; in which Al Haitham has fallen in love with you, but doesn't understand how simple it can be to love someone, and so he tries to tell you in the most roundabout way. The same way he had asked you to become his friend.
we were liars (Kamisato Ayato x Fem!Reader)
The second instalment to the Undercover Teyvat universe. A fauxmance and slow burn series between you and Kamisato Ayato.
In this series, you are the daughter of a late Liyuen general who had died during the Liyuen-Inazuman war years ago. You are sent to Inazuma in the guise of mending the tense relationship between the nations as Liyue's diplomat—when in truth, the Ān bù has sent you there to gather intel on the ever-so secretive Shuumatsu-ban and find out who their leader is. In your attempt to make peace between the nations, you become acquainted with Kamisato Ayato, the Inazuman Imperial Army's field marshal.
In which, you try to woo and manipulate the Kamisato Ayato to gain your intel. Unbeknownst to you is that he's doing the exact same thing. Now, you are two liars stuck in a stalemate... But what happens when these two liars start to fall in love? This is a bizarre and treacherous game of political chess, and a gamble between the heart and mind.
in theory and concept (Albedo x Mona)
The third instalment to the Undercover Teyvat Universe. Academia AU. Unlike all other works under the Undercover Teyvat universe, in theory and concept will be more under the slice of life genre.
Currently planned as a oneshot for a much more complex introduction of Mondstadt into the UT universe.
This follows a sweet romance between two (very overworked) PhD students from the Royal Mond University who happen to share their knowledge about the stars. One who approaches stars as a form of art, and the other who sees the stars as the threads of fate. Featuring a pre-teen Klee—an unknowing matchmaker for her brother and the (soon-to-be) love of his life.

*squints at windblume ch.3 in "started playing in 3.3"* I've no care for the hexaedron nor Alice, I only know her from teyvat travel guide and she was such a jerk in the Mondstadt edition. Also I have neither Albedo nor Klee so thank goodness I read up on them beforehand I guess
on the other hand I do find it very funny that Venti getting along with everyone everywhere (xinqiu, kazuha, xinyan, hu tao, yae miko, etc) also extends to those who hold violent intent towards him djdjd (though they really don't explain why the hexagon challenged Venti in particular out of all the archons...or when, bc Venti isn't easily found to posit a challenge to, nor known for his martial prowess if it was purely the hexhocuspocus' arrogance talking. Hope this is a plot thread that they will adress in the future but honestly getting a bit tired of seeing so many threads hanging—ik we're only halfway through the story but still. And NOT a fan of lore being locked behind a time-limited event)
That's not a recent player problem. The Hexenzirkel have never come up in the story before. They've only been mentioned in passing in some character voice lines and bios.
The only thing we knew about them was that they're a bunch of witches who sometimes study the Irminsul, and Alice and Mona's master and Albedo's creator were among them.
Note how this event directly confirms that the group itself is utterly irrelevant. Scarlett thought they were a secret council who can change the course of history, but in fact they're just some randos who happen to include three+ immortals. The entire thing is just spruced up but ultimately pointless pedantry to explain how certain future characters know each other. I'm fairly sure that the writers just thought the aesthetic of a witches' tea party was cool but had no actual use for this idea, so it's just set dressing, basically.
I'll list the members here, because it's easy to lose track... because all these characters are utterly unknown to us:
1) A is Alice, Klee's mom, "One who would never lie". Her amazing feats include killing a whole bunch of eternally cursed people in gruesome ways, cursing a man to only speak by repeating what is said to him while trying to cure his stutter, abandoning her young child and refusing to visit despite having time to screw around endlessly, damaging a location that is both historically significant and has a strong personal importance to others because it "didn't look old enough," and various other nonsense.
2) B is Barbeloth, Mona's master.
3) R is Rhinedottir, "A flower that is not of this world". She is Albedo's creator. But she also created the rifthounds and Durin, and 500 years ago, her (Gold's) monsters ravaged the world.
4) N is Nicole, "Guide who will never get lost". She's the one who speaks to the Traveler at the end of Scaramouche's thing. This entire event probably exists to facilitate her upcoming presence.
5) J is I. Ivanovna, the one who went back home (presumably to Snezhnaya) to get married. She's had many successors, of whom Scarlett is the latest, but Alice refused to acknowledge any of them. Probably irrelevant, since she's succeeded by a bunch of NPCs.
6) M is Andersdotter, "A legend that never ends". She's a human author who wrote the popular fairytale "The Boar Princess"
The thing I can't puzzle out is which one of them killed her lover when he grew old. By elimination, it seems to be Alice? It's not Gold, it's not woman Hans Christian Andersen, it's not Mona's master or J, so it has to be Alice, Nicole, or a secret other member, since this might not be all of them.
In regard to them challenging Barbatos, it's because this is a Mondstadt event and the writers wanted to have Venti involved. Aside from that, I guess it's to show their human arrogation ARROGANCE.
I can guarantee this doesn't matter at all, so you don't need to keep track of it.

Albedo x Reader
The Portrait of Paimon! Paimon: Come on! Y/n You walk so slow!! (Paimon and Y/n are headed to Dragonspine to see if Albedo could help them with the Treasure Hoarders near the outskirts of the area) Y/n: ITS NOT LiKe I cAn fLy aRoUnD pAiMon! (You yelled because you were far behind the trail across) *As you’ve reached your destination of the small laboratory..Albedo was making illustrations for the books that Xingqiu writes.. As usual his blonde hair is like golden threads, painted with his paintbrushes.. Or his face is fair as heaven in the clouds..* Paimon: Y/N HELLOO?? Y/n: oH sorry- I was just zoning out..- Paimon: Paimon knows you’ve been thinking about Albedo the whole trip! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Klee: Paimon! Nice Lady! Are here Big brother!~ Albedo: What brings you here traveler?> Y/n: Uh- oH right- There’s a group of Treasure Hoarders near the area we just wanted your help to stop them. (Can’t Stop Thinking About Albedo~) Klee: I’ll Get the Bombs!> Albedo: No need to, I can take handle of them.> (*They headed to where the Treasure Hoarders were…and by a blink of an eye, Albedo had already defeated them with an second..While you were still zoning out or *thinking of albedo all day long~*) Paimon: Paimon Wonders if Albedo can draw Paimon!> Klee: Big brother Albedo please!!! Y/n: I— mean you’re very talented at doing sketches—(blushes) Albedo: Alright ok— Just stay still for me ok?> (Paimon was distracted by every little thing around her…While Albedo try’s to tell her to stand very still.. But, still Paimon was moving around like crazy because Klee was blowing up bombs around lakes…And you were looking at how determined he was when drawing Paimon….)
Tumblr media
Paimon : IS tHaT mE?!> I LOVE IT > (In conclusion, Klee wanted to draw Paimon but it had sharp teeth and “Paimon doesn’t have sharp teeth!” So Albedo was the winner or the real true artist of the competition. Y/n was impressed by Albedo’s drawing of Paimon. So you and Paimon headed home to Mondstadt to help Jean’s with her duties!>) THE END <3

A little gift for @vistaryl ;3.
Rosaria was just returning from one of her self-imposed patrols – no Treasure Hoarders will take root in Mondstadt on her watch – when familiar voices made her pause.
– You're sure you don't need any help, Albedo? I have people to spare.
A chuckle.
– It's fine, Eula. I am just returning to my camp… – trees slightly obscured the view, but Rosaria still could see how he checked his pouch from time to time. – I'm afraid, my current experiment is better conducted with no potential victims.
– If you say so, – clearly dubious, she frowned. – I'll visit you myself later, then.
– As you wish, – he inclined his head. – May the wind guide you.
Dangerous experiment, huh?
Rosaria's eyes trailed the alchemist's figure to the edge of the woods.
She may join Eula's visit herself, then.
///
And that would've been the end of it if later that day she didn't stumble upon a different scene.
– Brother Albedo, you really-really have to go? – Klee, dejected, clung to his side, and Sucrose mirrored a pleading expression behind her.
– I'll return sooner than you notice, – Albedo conversationally smirked at the young elf. – Don't get into too much trouble in the meantime, okay?
– Klee will be good! – she quickly nodded, letting him go only to catch Sucrose's hand.
– Mister Albedo… – who, far too worried than usual, mumbled a little before blurting out:
– Be safe there!
– You too, Sucrose, – he laughed. – See you soon!
And disappeared down the stairs, leaving both of them before the Headquarters.
Neither of them noticed frowning Rosaria looking on from the plaza's edge, which was just as well.
Something didn't add up, and she would be damned if she didn't check what.
Trek to Dragonspine it was.
///
For researchers, curiosity substituted sleep, food, and sometimes health.
Albedo carefully placed rifthounds’ claws, one by one, on the table.
Traveller left two, passing by – the second would be perfect for the control group, but he already could guess that any Abyss traces were null and void there. Their purification ability was uncanny.
The only one to rival them – Albedo shook his head, exasperated, remembering the bard’s cheeky grin when he gave it – was Venti, his power still clinging to the claw in the subtle teal threads. Alchemist supposed that he could look into the source of that later, and not necessarily in the lab.
The one that Razor brought still slightly crackled with Electro, snapping at the snowflakes from time to time, and Albedo couldn’t wait to learn if it was rifthound’s or Razor’s own. He leaned to the latter, but it genuinely was anyone’s guess.
And last, there was the one that he acquired himself, and he was proud to state that he didn’t bring any elemental changes to the claw, relying solely on his sword.
Then his eyes stumbled on the sixth claw.
Albedo frowned and picked it up, looking over. On the first or even second, equipped, glance there was nothing unusual in it.
But since he didn’t know where it arrived from…
Albedo shuffled to the center of the camp to shuffle a bit of Khemia in it. What secretes this one would unravel, living?..
Bam!
“Experiment – complete failure,” the last thought barely found its way to his failing consciousness.
///
She didn't jump to action immediately only because sister Grace, resignedly annoyed, pulled her attention back to the evening prayer.
Rosaria looked at the statue's face instead, lazily contemplating its likeness, but the disappointed glances of other sisters didn't bother her any more than usual.
She disappeared into shadows at the first opportunity.
Fir needles crunched her heels as Rosaria allowed her contemplation to return to her target instead.
She could never deny that Albedo intrigued her, as private and ingenious as he was. Mystery clung to him like a second skin, as thrilling as it was dangerous.
Better for her alone than for the city, eh?
The closer she walked, the colder it got, and soon pine and snow mixed under her step.
Rosaria avoided criminal and monster camps alike with practiced ease, pausing only to raise her brow at Snowbearer's Tree growth, red butterflies almost taking to the sky from its branches. Traveller surely poured their soul into reviving it…
And yet, her destination met her with eerie silence.
Alchemist's camp looked empty for the longest time, until…
///
Albedo groaned, blurs and spots refusing to fade under insistent blinking, and slowly sat up, offending claw innocuously hiding under the table where it clattered from his grip. He had a guess now where it came from, at least.
Although checking on that would have to wait. The left shoulder itched from what felt like fairly deep gashes, and as much as his Vision didn't heal, per se, it was hell-bent on burning out Abyss poison from his system.
Albedo suspected that was one of, if not the only, reasons for Visions' existence in the first place, a weak weapon trusted in the correspondingly feeble mortal hands (exceptions existed, but not that many) made useful by sheer quantity. Not like he could ask any deity about it, though...a pity.
A detached voice pulled him out of his pained musings.
– Do you need help getting to the healer or you're fine?
He slowly blinked.
– I don't need a healer.
Her gray figure blurred a little between pine trees.
She turned to the road, scoffing:
– Bleeding like that?
– Wait!.. – Albedo coughed not-blood out, on the camp's frozen floor. Huh. The claw nicked his lung, then.
Nothing his regeneration couldn't fight, but that hurt like a storm. Master knew how to recreate sensations perfectly.
– I...kh-a...don't want to disturb anyone else, sister, – he paused for a second, recollection hazy, – Rosaria?
She paused, half-turning to him:
– You do know that healing is not my line of work.
– Let me just, – Albedo shook his head, gradually standing up by crawling up the table's leg. Or, at least, tried to as Rosaria came over to straighten him in one rough tug with an irritated sigh, – find my first-aid kit. It should be right… – his eyes scanned the shelves. Was air always this syrupy? – here.
He made a grabbing motion toward the lowest, most protected one and almost toppled over again.
– Stay where you are, – she caught him, firmly propping him up with the table's help, and went to retrieve the kit herself. He could swear she muttered something under her breath.
Albedo obeyed, more out of sheer exhaustion than anything else. If he took the next chain of experiments a day later, it would be no one's business but his, and in the meantime, he could arrange a proper protective barrier – probably even two, for himself and the surroundings – on the nearby ley-line…
Jostling of the table made him hiss at the pain spike, but no new coughing emerged. Good.
Rosaria looked the camp over:
– Is there a bed all of this, – she vaguely gestured at his wounded mess, – could be taken to?
He winced. Explaining that he did not need to sleep and, as such, foregone bedding altogether was out of the question. That's why he preferred traveling alone, after all.
– Here will suffice, – he shrugged with a healthy shoulder.
She warily eyed him but picked up a cleansing vial and a cloth from the kit:
– I'll take your word on it.
The next few minutes were spent in relative silence, interspersed only with hisses and rustling of cloth – he would need to patch this batch of clothes soon… - until Rosaria commented out of the blue:
– I didn't think you would return to chat with little sparkle after your talk with Eula.
It was a miracle – and a well-timed stab of pain, letting him grimace instead – that Albedo didn't gape at her.
Well, she accidentally confirmed his theory, at least.
– Klee deserves all the love, – he didn't need to fake fondness or hide his smile, – so it was a split-second decision.
Rosaria non-committally hummed and reached for bandages.
– You should find Barbara soon, – she muttered, critically eyeing her handiwork. – This looks pretty terrible.
Albedo shrugged again, already a bit more at ease.
– I'll handle it, – especially when he'll manage to chug out of a rejuvenation potion stash. – I appreciate your worry, – he inclined his head. A little bit of politeness went long way, he learned.
She huffed, a fleeting smile on her lips:
– My work is done, then, – she raised her brow, challenging. – I hope I won't find you in a lifeless pile next time.
Looking at her figure, disappearing behind the mountain's slope, he allowed himself a small smile.
Being human…was nice.
