Jack had been walking around the museum most of the day. He had a rare day off so he'd decided to spend it at the museum around his favorite exhibits. He entered the Egyptian exhibit, looking around. He noticed something in the floor, and he only saw one other person, so he picked it up and walked over to him. "Excuse me. Did you happen to drop this?"

hw event 15 (funky murder mystery time) plot call! hit the 'like' button and i'll send you a plotting message, maybe not today but definitely tomorrow/wednesday at the latest, and we can pick some people to plot with. this will double as a starter call; i'll add threads here as we plot them. (but as a side-note, i probably will drop most non-event stuff once this starts, just for my own sanity. if it's a thread i'm really enjoying i'll keep it but otherwise if it's not hugely plot-related it'll probably get cut, rip)

wei wuxian: this man has died 3 times already, so he's not concerned. also his personal life is going great at the moment, so I can't see him getting too distracted by these murders when he's got better things to do than panic.

xie lian: xie lian is unfortunately in the category of 'i care too much' and 'let's work together and help solve this, okay?' he is pretty sharp when it comes to solving mysteries, but definitely wants to team up and coordinate with other people, because the more minds working together, the better! he is very optimistic that they can get this wrapped up soon.

sha hualing: murderers? finally some excitement that this city needs. she will be causing problems on purpose, such as purposefully fucking with evidence and trying to leave fake clues for investigators. because that's good, cheap fun.

liu qingge: if he sees someone even vaguely suspicious, he will not hesitate to stab them with his giant fucking sword. so consider your characters warned.

loid forger: finally a chance to utilize his spy skills! he has not been "officially" put on this case, but in the interests of helping keep the city safe, he will be investigating, so if you want anyone to team up with, give him a call.

dongfang qingcang: let everyone kill each other, he literally does not care. caring is beneath his paygrade.

chu wanning: he'll feel an obligation to contribute, probably by investigating on his own. i don't think he'd want to work with anyone else, because he doesn't want them to get potentially hurt, but that motive probably would not come across well and instead he will most likely come off like a loner asshole, rip

qi yan: she's suspicious about why this is happening, but trying not to get involved. she works at the white house, so i'm sure tensions there are relatively high. if you have a white house employee character as well, this is a good potential plotting opportunity.

kaz brekker: keeping eyes out everywhere. he won't be trying to solve the murders unless someone he knows falls victim to it, but-- he's a good person to bounce ideas off of, because he does know crime pretty well.

okay!! post-event starter call! here is the plan. i did not get nearly as many threads going during the event as i thought i would. i will continue/transition what i can but i know that's not a lot so under the cut i have a starter call for all my characters! i will be dropping pre-event threads. i do ask that everyone requests no more than four starters so i can get to everyone, and understand i'm away most of this weekend so they may take a bit of time, but beyond that go crazy.

“The museum is open to the public during the day,” he called out in his polite Cambridge accent. Maybe she spoke English. He didn’t like to assume. “Perhaps you might return those artifacts and see them again during the day...”

It has many benefits to be rich. Not new-money-rich of course. But to be born in the right, old family, to have the connections, and the right aquaintants.

There are not many joys in Safin's life, hence to his past, but he takes the enjoyment he can get. And a weekend in London, a chat with his old friend, who is the chairman of the British museum, ends often with a nightly visit in the beautiful environment of history.

Safin adores it to be here at night. He has the museum all for him alone, walking along the exhibitions in the dim light of the security lamps. He always stops at the picture gallery he had set up as a patron of the museum. The work of Hukusai and the paintings his father had at home always soothes him.

At the end he finds himself in the egyptian department. A huge room of beauty and monumental view. Wood and gold - silk and jewelry - much older then many written books.

Standing in the shadow of a thousand years old column he gazes along the statues. If they only could talk. Out of nowhere he hears a sound but cannot say if it comes from outside the museum or the inside. Wasn't he alone? A guard? Cleaning personal? Didn't the Director Herr Fischer send them home?

Ahk was shaking, and even with his arms wrapped around his waist, he couldn’t be stilled, so as Raphael approached, the former Pharoah almost flinched, fearful despite knowing that Raphael would never hurt him. This was why he didn’t like being trapped in a tight space.

Imagine singing Tightrope in front of the whole Museum when your talent show got shut down; Ahkmenrah’s Tablet decides to have a mind of it’s own; Part 2

You sat on the stool in the security guard’s office in your dress.

Sacagawea was doing your hair, threading bits of beautiful, white flowers into it. You were deep in thought.

“Hey Sac?” You said. Sacagawea hummed in response. “Do you think Ahk and I could have a future together? I mean, like, once I am out of high school and into College?” You asked. Sacagawea hummed in thought.

“He is a museum exhibit. I think you should relish the time you have together.” She said. You sighed and looked down slightly. Sacagawea smiled in satisfaction at your hair. “And done! What do you think?” She asked. You pulled out your phone and gasped at what she had done.

“Sac, it’s beautiful!” You said. Sacagawea smiled.

“Now, let’s get you to the stairs so you can wow everyone.” Sacagawea said, smiling at you. It suddenly clicked. Your dad was holding your Talent Show here. With a smile, you walked out with Sacagawea, ready to sing to your heart’s content. 

Sacagawea walked down the stairs and stood next to Teddy. Larry walked up. 

“Hey, Sacagawea,” Larry said, mispronouncing her name again. 

“Sacagawea.” Both she and Teddy corrected. Larry nodded. 

“Right, uh sorry, um, is-is [Y/N] ready?” He asked.  Sacagawea nodded. She should be here any second. The clacking of heels caught everyone’s attention. The lights in the museum turned off and a spotlight shone on you. There was a microphone, you had no idea where the got it from, that was standing in front of you. You slowly walked up to the microphone and nervously messed with the dress you had chosen for the talent show. You looked out amongst the exhibits who you had come to call your friends. 

“Um, hello, people, statues and animals,” you stated, addressing everyone and everything in the room. “Um, my name is [Y/N] Daley and I will be performing Tightrope, from the Greatest Showman,” you back away a bit and closed your eyes, breathing out. The intro to the music started. You opened your eyes and made contact with your dad and Ahk. They both smiled and nodded at you. You smiled and walked up to the microphone, ready to wow everyone. 

“Some people long for a life that is simple and planned, tied with a ribbon. Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land, to follow what's written, but I'd follow you to the great unknown. Off to a world we call our own.” Silence fell as the exhibits listened to your voice, the voice that sounded like an angel. You lifted your hand, making eye contact with Ahkmenrah. “Hand in my hand, and we promised to never let go. We're walking a tightrope,” you looked up to the ceiling, imaging that there were stars shining above you. “High in the sky we can see the whole world down below. We're walking a tightrope. Never sure, never know how far we could fall. But it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view,” you gestured out to the people below you. When the Museum opened its doors to the public at night, they didn’t understand that what they were viewing was literal history come to life. “Walking a tightrope, with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, With you.” Now, you made eye contact with Ahkmenrah. You wanted to tell him about the life you wanted with him. However, he was an exhibit and you were a human. But hey, a girl can dream. “Mountains and valleys, and all that will come in between, desert and ocean. You pulled me in and together we're lost in a dream,” you remembered the first time you met Ahkmenrah. You wanted to be an Egyptologist and wanted to go to college for that specific thing. When you finally met the one Pharaoh that you admired the most, you lost your breath. You never expected him to look so handsome. “Always in motion. So I risk it all just to be with you. And I risk it all for this life we choose.” You closed your eyes and raised your voice to hit the high notes in the song. “Hand in my hand and you promised to never let go! We're walking a tightrope, high in the sky we can see the whole world down below! We're walking a tightrope. Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?” Your voice fell and your opened your eyes, looking directly at Ahk, hoping that he got the message. It was clear that the others did. “Well, it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view. Walking a tightrope with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, with you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. With you.” You closed your eyes as the song ended. Then, the entire museum erupted into applauding and whistles. You smiled widely stood there for a moment. After the sounds died down, you rushed down the stairs and embraced Sacagawea. 

“You sounded amazing!” She praised, pulling away and holding you at arm’s length. You smiled and thanked her. You dad walked up and you hugged him tightly, resting your head on his chest. 

“Thank you for this, dad.” You whispered. Larry smiled and kissed your head. Someone cleared their throat. You let go of your dad and hugged your lover. When you pulled away, Ahkmenrah pulled you into a sweet and slow kiss. 

“Shall we go to the planetarium, my love?” He asked. You nodded and took his hand.

“I wish we could always be like this.” You said quietly, resting your head on Ahkmenrah’s shoulder. Ahk kissed your head. 

“Like what, my love?” He asked. You sat up and leaned on your elbow, looking down at the man you fell in love with. Though he still looked 18, you knew he was much older than you. 

“I wish we could always be together, just like this.” You said. Ahkmenrah reached up and stroked your cheek with the back of his fingers.

“We can, my love.” He said. You scoffed slightly and turned away. Ahk frowned and sat up. “[Y/N]? What is it?” He asked. You looked at him. 

“You don’t understand, Ahk. We’ll never be able to continue to be together. You’re made of wax. You’re an exhibit that belongs in a museum. I’m a human. After high school, I am going to Egypt to study abroad for two years to become an Egyptologist. Unless there were some magical way to turn you human, I don’t think we could stay together after I am done with high school.” You said. 

You walked with Ahkmenrah to his exhibit. You sighed, holding his hand. It was almost morning and it would raise some suspicion if people found an Egyptian Pharaoh laying in the planetarium. You looked into Ahkmenrah’s eyes. Those shocking blue eyes that pulled you in. That hypnotized you. 

“Will I see you tomorrow night?” He asked. You shrugged. 

“I’m not sure. I can’t keep coming to the museum every night. I have to get a decent amount of sleep to do well in class.” You said. Ahkmenrah sighed. 

“I understand. I wish now, even more so, that I was human so that I could spend night and day with you.” He said. You smiled sadly. 

“I do to.” You said and pulled him into a kiss. Just then, the tablet started glowing. You both looked at the table in confusion. “Ahk, what’s going on?” You asked in caution. Ahkmenrah shook his head. The light got brighter and brighter, making the both of your shield your eyes. What felt like an hour was actually just a few minutes. You looked up from where your head was tucked into Ahkmenrah’s chest. You looked to the side and noticed that the Jackal statues were frozen. You felt arms around your waist. You dared to wish that it were true. Ahkmenrah’s hands pulled away from your waist. You gasped slightly and cupped his cheeks in your hands. His skin didn’t feel rubbery. There was warmth. Had it happened? 

“[Y/N]? You ready to go...” Larry asked, stopping mid sentence when he saw that Ahkmenrah was still awake. The two of you looked at Larry. “Uh, why isn’t Ahk in his sarcophagus?” He asked. You looked at the Tablet and back to Ahkmenrah. 

“I-I think the tablet made Ahkmenrah a human, dad.” You said quietly. Ignoring your dad’s words of saying that it was impossible, you turned to Ahk and smiled. Ahkmenrah cupped your cheek. 

“Dos this mean we can be together after your high school?” He asked. You giggled and nodded, throwing your arms around his neck. You knew you would be together for a long time.

𓋹 It is stated in the NATM movies that Ahkmenrah is 4,000 years-old, meaning that he is from about 1986 (19th century) B.C.E. based on when the last movie was made (2014). This means that he would most likely be from the New Kingdom/Dynasty 20 (Late Egyptian) Period of ancient Egypt.

𓋹 Since Ahk was canonically based on Tutankhamun there will be a lot of connections between Ahk’s character and Tut’s life (like his adorable ducky obsession ❤️).

𓋹 I have a preference for dramatic rp so expect a lot of that on this blog.

𓋹 My version of Ahkmenrah is obsessed with cats cuz Egypt; has about 12 of them that come to life with him every night.

𓋹 The admin’s interpretation of Ahkmenrah’s character is TWENTY. Ahkmenrah is not a minor in the present-set roleplays on this page. Any romantic relationships taking place between him and another character will be consensual!

takemichi only needing another job because he got fired at the dvd store recently and it's only a matter of time before he gets sent to the streets for missing another deadline.

takemichi who desperately accepted the free job as a night guard for the local museum, not knowing what kind of shit he was getting himself into.

takemichi who was screaming his head out before throwing the flashing light as far and as hard as he can, hoping that peke j, the gigantic cat-dog-dinosaur of sorts (rexy), would take longer to get it and come back.

takemichi with the neanderthal trio, baji, kazutora, and chifuyu as he throws a random lighter at them, hoping that it would distract them from pulling his hair out. (mainly because it was still that weird color of yellow he got too attached to.)

takemichi who went running the moment he saw pachin running at him, threatening to rip him apart in a language he can’t understand—peyan right at his tail.

takemichi who gets hit by a tiny train at full speed (and still got his eye bruised) with bratty tiny mikey who (out of absolutely nowhere) felt bad because his blue eyes were ruined and damn mikey likes blue.

takemichi who watches as izana and mikey starts kicking at each other. and also the same takemichi who tried to break them apart only for both of them to kick him in the face.

takemichi with mikey, as jed, who gasped in shame and blamed it on izana and izana, as octavius, who points out that mikey initiates the fight.

takemichi and draken as the president teddy, who just snatched mikey and izana and threw them at their respective displays.

takemichi with emma as sacagawea and draken busy simping for her from afar while takemichi watches in both jealousy and tiredness.

takemichi sitting in despair, not because the gang doesn’t listen to him but rather because they won’t stop following him (specifically mikey and izana).

takemichi who managed to get emma and draken together after bowing his head to his boss when he shattered the glass with no hesitation. draken owes him a lot. (but if they were being honest, takemichi owes him a whole lot more for always saving his ass and being his support.)

takemichi who found a friend in kakucho, a loyal roman follower of izana and is honestly, the only roman who listens to takemichi.

takemichi with mitsuya as ahkmenrah but instead of a gold stone it’s a sewing kit for some reason. just one bag filled with threads and needles, weirdly in gold, plastered on the wall. that’s literally what lets everyone to come alive at night. a goddamn sewing kit.

A (fictionalized) national maritime museum in England has an artifact that has the interior exhibits come to life every night. Shenanigans ensue.

There is something peculiar about two of London’s museums–they have a habit of being rather active at night. It’s all seemingly sourced around strange artifacts from two very different parts of the world–one is thanks to the Egyptian artifact known as the Tablet of Ahkmenrah. But in the case of the Maritime Museum, the ‘culprit’ was a heavy stone disc known as the Dover Plate; a thing imbued with a deep magic.

The night watchman, Charlie, is long familiar with the... residents. He is good natured, and generally speaking, keeps things running smoothly.

As it would happen, the personification of England is a familiar face amongst the ‘residents’ for a variety of reasons.

And of course, some of the exhibits themselves--two miniature crew members of the Franklin Expedition diorama--are prone to exploring their vast and storied home.
