having a republic longbeam named after him. jedi master mirro lox's grief at his death (and when he heard about starlight falling, mirro knowing that one of the firebrands had died, even if he didn't know which one yet; he just knew their trio had been broken). jedi santar shouting "for stellan!" before charging in to fight a nameless. zeen having stellan's holo up every night (among holos of the other fallen) when she sings at the cantina.

he was so admired and so so loved by so many people around him. he touched so many people's lives just by being himself; being good, being as exemplary of a jedi as he could be, sharing joy and laughter.

stellan didn't think it mattered that his star would burn out with the fall of starlight, because so many others would be shining in his place. but he still shines so brightly. he truly is the polestar.

having a lot of thoughts about how well-liked and charming and personable stellan was, to the point where he was arguably the most popular firebrand to be around. elzar mentions numerous times how much stellan would smile and laugh. stellan knows and seems to be reasonably close with a number of jedi outside of avar and elzar (emerick comes to mind immediately; and even if he and orla didn't necessarily see eye to eye, he trusted her enough to help elzar, who is supremely important to him). padawans and other young jedi look up to him, and there's obviously a reason the chancellor wanted him as the face of the jedi (even if doing so wasn't the most comfortable for him). it's reinforced throughout canon how many people liked him a lot, and how much they liked him and respected him. and i just think that makes it even more special that he chose elzar (the outcast) and avar (the reckless troublemaker) as the two most important people in his life.

At first, Viktor's touch to Jayce's head is a gentle - pointedly gentle considering the speed he's moving with - brush that slows down to clearly tease at making the connection. It's teasing it's playful it's downright flirtatious.

But he pulls away and goes for the chest and chin grab. He wants Jayce to say yes to him. He wants to cradle Jayce willingly against his chest and have their idk grand romantic moments of being partners again and becoming truly melded bc he's a fucked up little guy who has had his fucked-up-guyness amplified by a hexcore

But Jayce doesn't give him his Yes. And there's a lot of very fast movement in 2 seconds where Jayce throws him off, then Viktor flings himself onto Jayce's back again in a high speed surge that's inelegant and rushed almost frantic.

And you can tell that he grabs at Jayce's head but I NEED....LISTEN IM LOSING MY MIND OKAY?? I don't care if it's obvious!! Everyone has slowed down and stopped that leg wrap and the wrist pin and I need you all to LOOK at the intimacy of this hold as he tries to force Jayce to see what he sees!! He's almost nuzzling into him while refusing to accept that Jayce isn't his partner in this.

i'm only like ¼ of the way thru the battle of jedha (and have read everything else before it), so idk what happens going forward but -

as fucked in the head she is, i really feel for marda. i might almost say i love her while also saying she scares the hell out of me and she drives me insane, because she is every scared little girl who grows up boxed in by her culture and faith

for me and my own xtian upbringing, i see in marda the same things i see in other (fundamentalist/extremist) xtians. i see in her the same things i have felt or seen others experience. she has a genuinely big heart and wants to do what's right, she's so devoted to following the path and doing what's spiritually & morally right that it blinds her to all the evil her faith is doing. she's so busy trying to 'love the sinner but hate the sin'/pray the force gay away that she forgets the little part of her that's full of compassion and love, that little sliver of open-mindedness that the path has squashed into nothing

this is also why, even tho i am still bitterly angry about her reaction to kevmo & her refusal to see the truth, i think i'll always have a soft spot for her. bc i could've been her and she was almost me

anyways, i don't know exactly what i'm trying to say with this post, mostly i just keep thinking about what are (to me) very obvious parallels to the real life rabid behavior of american xtian fundamentalists
