the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

INCREDIBLY LONG INCOHERENT TAGS RANT INCOMING FAIR WARNING HAS BEEN GIVEN:#it makes me so so sad how little discussion there is about specifically ikuko because imho she fits so neatly into a lot of the more#overarching Big Themes of the game in a way that i have not ever really seen people take notice of or point out in a meaningful way#like even just off of the top of my head. the significance of names and what it means to go by a name that's Not Yours (she has like 4+)#what it Means to be a witch how it represents a person's deepest insecurities and flaws & how its at its core a coping mechanism#the fact that it takes two to create a universe and trying to do it on your own anyways has the capacity to bring you intense misery#^ (how she's shown to be extremely dismissive of her own work and skill until a collaborator comes into her life and helps/encourages her)#and even the family/patriarchy/misogyny stuff that is so prevalent in the rest of the game comes back around to her. even her Only Friend#(young&stupid atp to be fair) remarks that shes Weird for being unmarried + the little she does say about her past invites the question of#to what extent her self-image stems from her family deeming her a freak outcast & effectively disowning her while celebrating her brothers#and i have lot in my mind about the witch thing specifically because i think her particular situation is very reflective of what umineko's#entire magic system and fantasy facet as a whole is meant to represent for an individual. from what little we see of (what is presumably)#her Real personality she is shown to be deeply self conscious in a way that is JARRINGLY diametrically opposed to both 1.) what we see in#featherine and 2.) what we see when she is acting as a Public Figure. because both of the above are very much purposeful acts that she is#putting on in order to obfuscate her true self. and i have always been very resolute & adamant about not totally equating her to featherine#not only because im very firmly in the camp of “featherine is the avatar of the Pen Name & tohya is part of her too” but also very much b/c#i feel very strongly that the stark differences between the two are very centrally relevant to her character & her psyche. as is the case#with most other witches featherine's personality traits serve to reveal/magnify a lot of ikukos inner workings by playing on her#insecurities/reversing them e.g. ikuko being very quick to downplay her skill/achievements becomes featherine being the COMPLETE opposite#to the point where she barely registers even other witches as living beings rather than just fun touys. BUT even though i do champion the#ikuko/featherine separation so hard i ALSO think it is purposefully relevant that at first glance the line between them seems so blurry#her introduction implying a more nebulous separation between her reality/fantasy counterpart is i think is an intentional move on her part#like it is part of the front she is putting up when acting as the Author. as opposed to Ikuko the person who we (in a way ironically very#similar to the way that the Real Battler is presumably only shown during the boatscene) only very briefly get to see take up screentime#which even on a meta level lines up very well with her apparent underlying nature as a like. extremely private largely reserved/shy person#hit tag limit but if by some miracle anyone is still reading this thank you... please see ikuko with the love she deserves... ok ily byeee

not enough discussion about the gavins' complicated relationship with feminine-coded/beauty products, i don't think.

I'm finally getting around to rewatching Hazbin Hotel after not being able to do so (broke and disabled) and wow, I didn't realize how pissed Alastor really was about having to make that commercial
Those claw marks are definitely just freshly made
Though this does have me wondering a bit. I do need to re-watch this scene but I'm not gonna rn and this isn't planned out at all so I hope you don't mind my ramblings, but what was it exactly that caused him to react like this?
Was it just having to film the commercial or was it because Charlie and Vaggie aren't happy with the commercial?
He should have known they wouldn't like it since he made the commercial terrible on purpose. In terms of it being a proper advertisement for the hotel, not production quality. He said it himself that he decided to have some fun with it since he was throwing a tantrum didn't want to film a commercial. Or was he still hoping for at least some applause for his hard work? He literally said in the commercial without saying it that the rooms there are shit. He got the reaction that he should have expected and yet he is still angry about it
Or this could just be him still being pissy about having to film a commercial though I did assume that maybe he'd chill out a bit since he had a week to film this and get over it, but thinking on it some more, he probably didn't chill out. It probably festered even more with each moment that he had to film this commercial and edit it and just deal with everything that has to do with television. I also figured that he had some fun at least since he did say he decided to have fun with it, and I'm sure he did. I like to imagine that he was awfully proud of that it's shit visual gag and he did piss of Angel as well. Not to mention his little drawing of the hotel. It looked like he had fun with that little art project. But overall, I don't think the little fun he had here and there outweighed the fact that he had to film a television commercial for television
I was going to end my ramblings here but now I'm wondering how that conversation went when they decided to make a commercial. Alastor did say that Charlie and Vaggie insisted on a television commercial. How bad did that conversation go exactly? Since Alastor clearly wanted, and probably expected, to make a commercial for the radio. But how insistent were Charlie and Vaggie? It could be possible that they were unintentionally kind of... what's the word... dismissive? Disparaging? Basically implying that no one listens to radio anymore. I doubt they'd do so maliciously, even if Alastor is Alastor. And also how hard did Alastor try to fight back? How long did it take him to just maliciously comply? I kind of suspect that Alastor was trying to "play nice" and Charlie, in her excitement, accidentally just bulldozed the conversation if that's the correct phrase
But yeah, that's enough of my ramblings about this. I don't know if this is anything substantial, I just wanted to try and figure out my Darling's thought process to understand him better ❤️

DAN THE DANGEROUS ZOMBIE MAN!!!!!! I was SO excited when I saw the reveal, he is absolutely the funniest possible character choice hands-down. oh my god. I'm so glad he made it into this game.
also Kamui just looks incredible. instant favorite. this is the kind of man I can picture standing naked on a cliffside and screaming at everyone about his imminent ascension towards godhood. he is the incarnation of that one iconic Gina Linetti scene.

I'm just saying, Orym knows something about being stuck on the death of your first love. Of being constantly reminded of them and their death, seeing signs of them every day, making it that much harder to get over them.
But now he has found a new love, and despite the seeing Will several times, being reminded of him every time he looks at the moons or swings his sword, he is ready to move forward. "It's pretty great, living a lifetime." He wants to try again.
If anyone would have some wise words for Keyleth to help her get through this, it would be him.

I intended for the post these tags are on to be the last thing I say about fandom misogyny for a While because I felt like I covered everything already but oh my god YES I agree So hard
In general, while I do think Princess/TLQ are permanent partners, they're also not...human. they certainly act human, but they don't carry the same societal baggage that we get saddled either by virtue of being born surrounded by other humans.
And then "marriage" as a concept is one that is so vastly different in so many cultures and time periods, and at least for the kinds of marriages I'm familiar with, there are a Lot of benefits for abusive partners and Especially men to obtain legal and financial power over their partner through marriage. Like, so much of marriage, on top of its symbolic and romantic value, is also its legal and financial ones, as well as social positioning/maneuvering-"wife" carries more weight than "girlfriend", serves as a status symbol. I don't think the Princess and TLQ would really care for that.
HEA doesn't touch on the complicated socioeconomic issues that come with marriage, especially traditional/heterosexual marriage, but it does touch on so much of the domestic unhappiness that comes with it, especially in regards to how you, the player, and the Smitten keep her in this unhappy, stale situation she's Supposed to be happy with. Opportunist even calls her "our queenly wife."
So like on top of marriage being a distinctly human construct/invention I'm not sure those two would vibe with when they can literally merge their souls together at any given moment. HEA in particular would fucking hate it. She's already Been trapped with a partner in a situation all too similar to the Traditional marriage. I could see arguments for other princesses. for a modern-AU Prisoner using marriage for tax benefits and secretly being delighted when she signs the papers, for Tower or Nightmare to make the player legally her pet in a similar fashion, for the Wounded Wild to accept it...
Never HEA. And yet the majority of StP marriage content is HEA, because she's their favorite and she's wife. Never mind how much she hated it. Never mind that her whole route is about how much she hated it. She's wife! We love her! She loves us! Of course she'd marry us, there's no other option! We HAVE to symbolically own her and tie her to us forever! Right???
#it's ridiculous.#to be clear marriage is insanely important and good in a lot of cases#people fought for gay marriage precisely because not having those legal/financial benefits was a huge fucking problem#especially when their partners died or were in medical emergencies.#but i think it's really irresponsible to act as though it can't also have HUGE drawbacks#ESPECIALLY a traditionally-structured marriage#as an institution it partially exists so a partner of a certain gender can legally own another.#this has changed a LOT in recent years but it is fairly recent (historically speaking) and still is used that way in a lot of cases.#and i'm not trying to undermine the symbolic and romantic value either#but i don't think a piece of paper or label defines a romantic relationship Especially the one on the level of TLQ and Princess's.#and for princesses like Thorn and HEA while i def relate with loving the shit out of the princess n wanting to wife her#and be her wife and her husband and have her be your wife and love her love her love her forever.#...i don't think Marriage specifically Is the way to love them forever.#the sheer level of trust issues with Thorn + HEA's EVERYTHING is like. i don't think they'd go through with it.#i think it'd give them a lot of anxiety and make them miserable.#BUT THEYRE LOVE INTEREST. SO THEY MUST BE MARRIED.#never mind that they can have a Just as serious and valuable relationship without it.#and it IS misogynist it plays into the idea that This is how a relationship between a man and woman is Supposed to be#you are Supposed to be married to fulfill the ''role'' of a wife#and when u think about what the Role of a wife in marriage is...#like. ugh. sometimes i wonder if the people who love HEA actually love HEA the princess#or if they just love the whole little narrative of leaving a miserable situation and dancing with their cute sad wife.#because i'm not sure people even really get why she's so miserable in the first place.

I saw the Australian production of Dear Evan Hansen a couple of nights ago! My first time ever seeing it live after years of obsessing over it. I was losing my mind entirely, it was incredible.

Holy shit Chevy's shadows! I wish he had described more of them, I wanted to know everyone's image! Just so much data there.

Hero's death was absolutely a targeted hit, he started asking too many questions, pushing back on things.
Chevy's whole power is just really fascinating. Really interesting to think about.

Loved getting a wonderful list of Endbringer attacks. Sure it still wasn't all of them, but up through Simmy showing up is still pretty great.

Anyway ya turns out powers (except Scion of course) can't touch the actual core of the Endbringers and I'm like 95% sure I have a good idea as to why it works like that, but still got a little bit of that uncertainty.
Endbringers are directly related to Eidolon in some way, I am pretty sure of that. Created by him. Previous bodies. Sentient poop for all I know! They're connected though.

Everyone just starting to freak out about how things are gonna escalate instead of just celebrating the win is really unfortunate.
I mean, they aren't wrong. Another Endbringer is gonna come. But it would be nice if they could live in happy ignorance for a few days.
I'm guessing it'll either be two Endbringers that always attack at the same time or one Endbringer that uses teleportation to swap to a different city after a certain period of time. In either case basically fucking up the organized response ability.
Already mentioned this, but Rachel and Taylor fell asleep on each other!!!! GGGGAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!
