I'm just saying, Orym knows something about being stuck on the death of your first love. Of being constantly reminded of them and their death, seeing signs of them every day, making it that much harder to get over them.
But now he has found a new love, and despite the seeing Will several times, being reminded of him every time he looks at the moons or swings his sword, he is ready to move forward. "It's pretty great, living a lifetime." He wants to try again.
If anyone would have some wise words for Keyleth to help her get through this, it would be him.

framing imogen and laudna's relationship as somehow "making queer history" due to *checks notes* sheer quantity of their screentime might be one of the most nonsensical claims i've ever seen, not the least because I have no idea how this "screentime" is being calculated. are we counting every time they'd ever spoken to each other? their general presence as queer people in a very long show? the number of episodes that they were in a relationship together? exclusively the moments between them that were romantic (which is almost entirely subjective)? and like, at the end of the day, i think there's nothing queer history making about the relationship that beau wiping her mouth to pick a phone call from caleb in the middle of eating out her wife doesn't blow out of the fucking water just on principle

It's looking like there's a growing divide between Campaign watchers and Tlovm watchers in terms of like. We're here for the characters. 12-episode seasons aren't. They can't be. I'm already making peace with everything we'll lose in the Mighty Nein show, and I know I will enjoy it for what it is but I also know that almost nothing that made the story so special will translate to the screen, because turning it into a show automatically means (in this day and age) that plot must be the number one priority. They've already come out and told us it's going to be different, the characters we know and love but new stories.
Because that's how this has to work. And I feel bad for campaign one lovers, because while it is certainly the easier of the two to translate to a big, overarching story, even though it's a more "traditional" high fantasy story with easier archetypal characters, the archetypes and the plot aren't what cemented most people's love for the campaign. So much of the love for critical role is stored in the interpersonal dynamics and the payoff that comes from hundreds of hours of tiny interactions that one day become cornerstones of development and even affect or dictate the plot.
There's no room for that. There's no room for Bard's Lament in a story that cannot afford to remove and replace a main character. A lot of tlovm is for people who have been here for all of campaign one. Most of it, however, isn't. It's for a new crowd. While CR may have creative control, you can bet your ass that there were months and years devoted to figuring out how to map a character-focused love of the show into a plot that hits the right beats to be viable in the show market.
And it worked. Tlovm has consistently high viewing numbers, and its popularity has brought and will continue to bring new people into the universe who have never interacted with CR previously. That's not a bad thing - imagine finishing your favorite show and discovering it has another FIVE HUNDRED HOURS of the equivalent of behind the scenes content. That's incredible for these newcomers. But man, it is in many ways a loss for us.

A while ago I saw someone comparing Critical Role's Vox Machina to the Avengers and the Mighty Nein to the Guardians of the Galaxy and after rewatching GOTG 3 last night I have now fully realized how true that is

you know i actually wish i both understood and thought more about percy because ever since i made that post about veth & percy i have been plagued by the idea of them interacting but i also know i am incapable of tackling that in a fic. like idk there's something there about family and revenge and curses and misery and tinkering and GUNS but i simply am not clever enough to figure it out

the absolute sinister vibes of marisha’s characters having crushes on laura’s characters for two campaigns and then in c3 laura’s character appears to have feelings of some kind only for marisha’s character to be like ‘we’re sisters :) just gals being pals :)’ like this is just textbook sapphic behaviour from all six characters

head in hands. Out all of the Nein's origin stories, Molly is the only one who really tried to "play the hero," a rogue vigilante risking his neck to save people he'd never even met, running off alone at night and gambling his own life every time. How Molly can't bear to watch others get hurt or taken advantage of, how he'll always let himself bleed first.
The way he only takes up "choir practice" after losing Lestera--the implication that he had no qualms about dying again after his first partner was gone. All the nights he could have ended up back in the grave until Yasha joined him--Molly always running to the rescue for others, but never expecting anyone else to do the same for him--
How Molly sacrificing himself twice for the Mighty Nein hurts all the more after seeing his "choir practice"--

From all the little hints we’ve gotten so far about the Mighty Nein cartoon and the animatic clip, I think there’s a good possibility the show might be having all the backstories/session 0s be shown up front as the first few episodes. If that’s the case, I can see why they describe it as grittier and darker, because yeah, a lot of those backstories are ROUGH TvT especially as an intro
