Note: I think I honestly suck at drabbles. This was a drabble request but I kinda got in the mood to write a bit longer and it ended up as a one-shot. For @ravenandcat. Here is one of your requests. Though I had to tweak the gangster-looking part and the drabble part. Enjoy!

Well yeah. This could probably be a multi-chapter fic. Probably.

Summary: Nami knew right there and then that trouble had walked straight into her bar.

Nami had been observing the man from the moment he first entered the establishment.

He is sitting alone on the far booth—alone and quiet. His back was facing her but she could still make out a hint of greenish hair against the subdued yellow light of the lamp fixtures.

What initially caught her attention when he first walked in was his well-built physique and imposing atmosphere.

He exuded danger and confidence in every step he took. If the bar was jam-packed tonight, he would've halted all chatter and activity just by his presence alone.

In the dim light she cannot clearly make out the features of his face from where she was situated but she'd bet every beli in her possession that he is rather handsome.

He is exactly the type she would love to spend days in bed with.

He didn't bother walking up to the bar counter to ask her for anything, nor did he made any signal that he wanted one like most of her patrons would do. He just headed straight into one of the farthest booth and sat there.

Nami was already used to all kinds of people coming into her bar. Most use the place for clandestine meetings or under the table transactions. She had played the part of the oblivious bar owner perfectly over the years.

She couldn't care less about their agendas to be honest. Clean or not, legal or illegal... as long as they bought liquor and food and not cause trouble for her and her business, they'd never hear anything from her.

The soft tinkling of the door's bell snatched her attention away. Her eyes moved from the man to the entrance as two of her customers step outside into the quiet night.

Nami frowned slightly as she wiped the drinking glasses clean before arranging them underneath the counter.

That's strange.

Slow nights are rare for her bar. It was always bustling with activity and drunk, noisy regulars. But tonight... it was surprisingly near devoid of customers.

Saved for the man she was observing earlier.

Could it be?

Two days prior, news had spread that a prized artifact was stolen from one of the East Blue mob families’ estate—right underneath the noses of their esteemed security team, which were hired solely to guard the recently dug out relic.

That incident actually ignited a confrontation between two of the families—who were both vying to get their hands on the priceless item—as one accused the other of stealing what would've been the ‘greatest archaeological find’ in this side of the sea.

Not that Nami cares about all that shit. Those people are only waiting for a reason to maim each other for a long, long time now and realized they could use this opportunity to their advantage and wipe each other out.

If she is correct... then that is probably the reason why most of her patrons are absent tonight. They are all busy shooting each other in the faces right at this moment.

She let out a sigh as tugged her apron loose, leaving it on top of the counter. At this rate… it would probably be better to just close earlier than usual before any fighting finds its way to her bar and she gets drag into the fray.

Artifacts—like the one stolen—often fetch a hefty amount in the black market. A lot of the filthy rich want to get their hands on such rare items that they are willing to pay no matter how high or even what the price are.

Especially if it has something to do with the lost treasure of the legendary Gol D. Roger.

And that's actually the part where Nami cares.

According to her resources, the recently found item contains a clue, pointing to the treasure’s whereabouts.

Just imagine how much that would cost in the black market!

No wonder the mob families are willing to off each other for it. She definitely understood where they are coming from.

And just imagine if SHE successfully charted its location and FINDS it!

Turning around, she opened the display counter behind her and grabbed one of the expensive bottles.

There are feats worth celebrating after all. Nami thought with a smile. She would enjoy a drink after she close up the bar—her own private celebration.

To a wonderfully done stealing stint! She mentally congratulated herself. And just right under that stupid long nose of the Mugiwara family’s so-called head of security.

He is no match for the cat burglar herself!

But first things first.

Nami poured one of the best (and yeah, a bit expensive) whiskeys of her bar in a lowball glass.

She had to send her remaining customer away.

Balancing the tray and drink in one hand, she sauntered towards his direction.

As she approached him, she realized that this is the first time she had seen this green-haired man in the area. Despite how deep her intelligence and connections regarding the families and the underground world... she had no idea who he is.

He doesn’t look like he is a gangster or that he belongs to any of the mob families. But somehow his intimidating presence would make one think twice.

Nami’s instincts were telling her that there are no random strangers in this dangerous world.

He looks pretty much like a damn normal business man relaxing after a long day, with the sleeves of his black shirt rolled up, dark grey vest, no coat…

She nonchalantly set down the glass of her finest liquor in front of him. "It's on the house," she said cheekily. “I’ll be closing up soon, sor—"

And she hesitated. Her eyes zeroed in on a rather expensive watch on his wrist that only someone from one of the old crime families would be capable of wearing.

"Cat burglar."

And Nami stiffened immediately at the moniker, the smile on her face instantly disappearing.

She slowly lifted her eyes to look at the man’s face.

Nami watched him downed the drink like it was nothing but water and set the glass back down the table just as an amused yet cruel smirk appeared on his lips.

The slight dipped of his head when he greeted her made the three earrings on his left ear glint as the dim light of the bar reflected against them. Cold grey eye met hers. And the scar running vertically along his left eye made her skin prickle.

And that was when Nami realized… her bar wasn’t empty for the reasons she were initially thinking.

When he stood up and towered over her. Her breath got caught in her throat.

She heard stories. She heard rumors.

She heard about a one-eyed man with a scar on his face, whose skills with killings were unmatched that almost all of the mob families are terrified of him.

She heard of his ruthlessness.

She heard of him. Even if she had never before seen him in flesh.

But she heard of HIM.

When she stole the artifact from the Mugiwara family’s estate, she never imagined someone as high-ranking as him would be sent out.

Nami knew right there and then that trouble had walked straight into her bar.

And there was no way to escape it.

Roronoa Zoro—the right-hand man of the Mugiwara family’s head—had personally come for her.

" oh before I forget dazai -Kun & Chuuya - Kun, there was a case about two of my men commits suicide with a bloody knife & shot with a gun, but I believe this is the person that did this " the person who was talking to me and Chuuya was the port mafia boss Ogai Mori. Ever since I join the port mafia I was trying to find my reason to live but still didn't find it my reason to live sadly.

Mori grabs files and puts it on his desk which that case some paper to fly off. the raven hair man grabs one of the files with a picture a girl with long [ H / C ], her [ C / E ] is like a sunset, her pale face is like the moon I turn around to see Chuuya who was blushing a smirks on my face & turn back to the Mafia boss. " anyway when you boys were daydreaming about this mission for tomorrow, this girl names [ Y / N ] [ L / N ] or some people call her the Dragon only heart." Mori expenses more detail about her and her relationship with Shibausawa even about her ability plus a bonus she killed about 230 people with her ability !, and her parents die or should I said disappear. The mother hasn't come home & and the father as died in an alleyway. It

After the meeting... Dazai was still daydreaming about the girl form the meeting. An unfamiliar feeling came to him. Is this... Love that he is feeling right now?

Hehe... It's funny how a girl can have a good [ C / E ] crystal, and a wonderful. [ H / C ] . , I wonder what her likes and dislikes. I snap out of my daydream with a familiar loud voice " oi! dazai are you are ready to go ! " said the ginger hair boy. Oh, I forgot he was there. A smirk on my face " Ooooo chuuyaaaaa I know you like this girl too ~. " I said in a tested voice. Chuuya ends up blushing by my words, I can tell he was pissed/flattered about it. Oh boy, this is going to be a long day.

" WHAT NO, I DON'T EVEN LIKE HER YOU MACKEREL! "

" OOO COME ON SLUG STOP ACTING LIKE TSUNDERE AnD JUST AMITY ALREADY! "

End of the flashback ❀ • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Nobody P. O. V [ 7: 5 2 P. M Yokohama city ]

The day has finally come.... the day of the dragon head conflict. Gun was firing with the other members of the day of Dragonhead. The other members shot back that cause the port mafia members killed or every Death.

It was a full moon, the cloud was a dark purple color, and hearing a gunshot in the air. Hearing Heavily breathing was coming out of a Male who was running on the street in a straight line holding a gun. He stopped at the end of the street and turn to the left. This man is named was Oda sakunosuke. A man who doesn't kill also one of the gifted people. he had reddish hair, his blue eyes are like the ocean also what he wearing was a Tan Coat & a black shirt.

Oda was looked at the dead body all ever the street. " this is sickening " he mumbles. All the port mafia members man was all dead in the ground. Hearing a couple of gunshots in the background, a loud one sound but this one and sound like a... Baby crying. Oda flicks when he heard the baby crying. He ran to the baby and find their parents died in the ground too. Poor baby was the only one who survives the attack. Oda pots his gun always in gentle hold the baby. The baby girl kinda clams down a bit. He sighs of relief and said " your lucky to be alive in this situation " " odasuku " a male voice from an earpiece [ A / N: IDK what are there called them (╥﹏╥)] oda Replied back " Dazai we're are you ? " the other man on the phone was Dazai Osamu the youngest members on the port mafia.

" I have a feeling I know what you're up to, but you need to run. " Dazai continues taking " it's going to be safe there for long " than the other person spoke up "Oh Piss off, scrub "

A motorcycle pass oda and the baby . " oh hey, chuuya. You're in the range of the enemy and take some bullet and die, thanks ." Dazai really wants chuuya to die on this god damm mission.

" Shut up " chuuya was about to lose his cool to his ' partner'.

Chuuya was almost got hit by an ability user but he da. " Damm gifted " yep he's a bit pissed about that. The ability user uses all its energy to take down chuuya. But it didn't work. By using his ability called " Upon the tainted sorrow. " the motorcycle was glowing a light red color & stick to the building. The ability user shot his Electric power to try hitting the motorcycle that chuuya riding.

" He thinks he's the shit," Chuuya said with a grumpy his word when he looks at the person.

Meanwhile with Dazai ~ ♥︎

The dark brown hair boy was sitting on the ground wearing handcuffed. A gun was pouting at the sild profile of dazai " It would have been more amusing if you'd been struck by lightning and killed. " said dazai. A puff of smoke but puff being blow away when a familiar finger " Shut it, Dazai " it was chuuya.

[ Y / N ] [ L / N ] P . O . V

[ 8 : 0 0 P . M ]

" So you telling me I have to stand right here and protect you. , " I said with a ( bit ) annoying a pot my katana on the ground and turning around to looking at my ' father ' Who was starting at his jewelry. " well isn't my fault you been training all week for this event is it, princess ?" Shibusawa said who is still starting his red ruby & a violets blue jewelry & started whispered " It'll be mine " keep saying it three times. Jesus, I hated when he does this but then I just get used to it. I was wearing this nice white dress with cliffs.my dress go to my knees. The neck part was getting annoying. " it won't be mine " Oh God here we go again. Click ... Click .. Click

Hear the fire is burning. He probably burning those papers that I was writing. I sighed and looking at the ground. " are those jewels are all real? " a male voice I shot my Head. To see a boy with a brown wave hair, his bandages right eye & bandage on was top to the bottom, His left dark brown eye is like chocolate. Also, he was wearing a black coat over his shoulder a white shirt with a black tie . And there was an another next to him. He had short ginger hair. A choker around his neck, hat on his head. Black Gloves cover his hand. By what he wears a black Jacket, white shirt, and black pants. The brown hair male took a look at me a started smirk at me. " He could have made a beautiful woman really happy~. " My cheeks started to heat up. Father is mattering one last word " It won't be mine " dropping the last jewelry on the fire and then dropping the bag to the ground.

He clasps his together and giving that looks at me "Princess you know what to do. " I sigh. Grabbing my katana form and attack the one with the bandage.

Dazai Osamu P . O . V

[ 8 : 1 9 P . M ]

Shit, she coming for the mean. A Swing forms her attack at me but I dodge it. I look at chuuya who was going to come bet her. I had to stop him. " Chuuya go-ahead and used your ability " I yelled at him. his eye widen he yelled back at me, " Are you Crazy! " " just trust me ". He used his ability, And markings appear on the cheeks and to the bottom. Chuuya cloth being riping off. The wind bit up. The [ H / C ] girl drops her weapon, her eye like look like she was seen a ghost. This is my chance. I grab her waist and move closer to my chest. Corruption, huh? I saw it on my mind. I step away to get some were safe still holding the [ H / C ] girl close. I could hear chuuya screaming. Next, the thing you know the building that Shibausawa was bowl up. I grab chuuya hand a used my ability " No longer a human ."

[ ? ? ? P . O . V ] [ 8 : 2 4 P . M on the roof top ]

I could see the building bowl up. My white coat was blowing waving though the wind . Heh I was to late to join the party. We'll meet you again soon The dragon only heart.

[ Dazai Osamu P . O . V ]

[ 8 : 2 5 P . M Yokohama city ]

After the experience of the building. I ask [ Y / N ] if she started at my apartment for the night. To my surprise she yes! If chuuya now about this will be the end of me. Also I have get new cou

A few years of waking to Dazai apartment. [ Y / N ] feel something warm. She never had any feelings for a long time. She feels safe with Dazai & chuuya. But there was the other feeling that when she with Dazai her cheek turn pink. And her heart skip a beat when she with him.

" well we're here " I opened the door for [ Y / N ]. " you can make your self-" I my word got cut off by [ Y / N ] hugging me. " thank you for saving me," she said with a smile. I hug her back. " no problem belladonna." I said smile a bit . . . . . . . . . . . . Days have passed. [ Y / N ] told dazai about her ability. And how dangerous it is. It came to the collusion to not join the port mafia. Each day and chuuya came to the dazai apartment to see how's [ Y / N ] doing. • • • • • The day that Oda dead. Dazai was planning to confess to [ Y / N ]. But [ Y / N ] end up the confession to her love with him in the first place. Later at night dazai quite the port mafia and took the [ H / C ] girl so they can become lovers & started in a new chapter for their life together. . . . . . . So , they can have that ever happy ending..... . . . . . . . Five After a few days people started to commit suicide.. nobody now why ... but only one new what is going on . And that person is name [̸Y̸/̸ N̸ ]̸ [̸ L̸ /̸ N̸ ]̸ .̸

Weverse lessons made useful 1 - writing & pronouncing Korean

Some armys, me included, have said that the weverse lessons are a nice gesture from bighit’s side, however it was clearly made by someone who is not a teacher because it’s too hard to understand for those who need it and too easy for those who are able to understand it - therefore sadly serving no real purpose.

I have no real beginner stuff on my blog so this is a first for me too, explaining concepts that are already well known for me. Still, I think that I can explain it better for non-Korean speakers as someone who once knew no Korean at all.

This is a post that encompasses the very basics of the Korean writing system and some Korean pronunciation. I recommend the McCune-Reischauer romanization if you absolutely must use a transcription.

Hangŭl 한글 = the “han” script, the Korean alphabet has graphemes (letters) for separate sounds but is written in syllables. It consists of 19 consonnants and 21 vowels and makes more sense than it may seem at first :)

ㄱ to ㅎ = from “a” to “z” (as you would recite the korean alphabet like 가나다라마...)

Consonants 자음

Some are pronounced slightly differently (unvoiced/voiced) depending on their position in the word as well as what consonants follow - asimilations happen then and that could be content for a whole new post. There’s 3 types of consonnants in Korean: simple ㄱ, tense ㄲ and aspirated ㅋ

ㄱ k/g 가자 - kaja = let’s go 모기 - mogi = mosquito 걱정 - kŏkjŏng = worry 정국 - jŏngguk = jungkook

ㄲ kk (tense) 꺼 - kkŏ= turn off 아까 - akka = before

ㄴ n 노래 - norae = song 한국 - hanguk = Korea

ㄷ t/d 달려라 - tallyŏra = run 가다 - kada = to go

ㄸ tt (tense) 땀 - ttam = sweat 이따가 - ittaga = later

ㄹ l/r 리더 - lidŏ= leader 허리 - hŏri = back 달려라 - tallyŏra

ㅁ m 마음 - maŭm = heart

ㅂ p/b 방탄소년단 - pangt’ansonyŏndan = BTS 바보 - pabo = fool, stupid 밥 - pap = rice

ㅃ pp (tense) 바빠 - pappa = busy 오빠 - oppa = big brother (for a girl) 빠지다 - ppajida = to fall

ㅅ s 사랑한다 - saranghanda = I love you 네시 - neshi (an exception for s before i) = your poem / 4 o’clock 싯어 - shiseo = wash

ㅆ ss (tense) 지민씨 - chiminsshi = mr. jimin 씨앗 - sshiat = seed 쏘다 - ssoda = to shoot

ㅇ silent/ng 아프지마요 - -ap’ŭjima-yo = don’t be sick 아이 - -a-i (silent in the initial position of a syllable) = child 사랑 - sarang = love 방탄 - pangt’an = bulletproof

ㅈ ch/j 잘 자야지 - chal chayaji = have to sleep well 좋아 - choha = i like 하지마 - hajima = don’t do it, stop

ㅉ tch, sort of a jj (intensive) 살찌다 - saltchida = to put on weight 모찌 - motchi = mochi

the following 4 letters are aspirated, more air goes into pronuncing them.

ㅊ ch’ 추억 - ch’uŏk = memories 고추 - koch’u = chili pepper 찾아 - ch’aja = find

ㅋ k’ 콘서트 - k’onsŏt’eu = concert 포크 - p’ok’eu = fork

ㅌ t’ 특별하게 - t’ŭk byŏl ha ge = specially 기털 - kit’ŏl = feather

ㅍ p’ 피아노 - p’iano = piano 커피 - k’ŏp’i = coffee

ㅎ h 행복 - haengbok = happiness 호석 - Hosŏk 지하 - chiha = underground

Vowels 모음

There’s 10 basic vowels:

아 a 아마 - ama = probably

야 ya 야단 - yadan = scolding

어 ŏ / usually transcribed as eo 섬 - sŏm = island

여 yŏ 여자 - yŏja = woman

오 o 간��사 - kanhosa = nurse

요 yo 요구 - yogu = demand

우 u 숨 - sum = breath

유 yu 바나나 우유 - banana uyu = banana milk

으 ŭ / usually transcribed as eu 아프다 - ap’ŭda = to hurt

이 i 시간 - shigan = hour

if you ask what the difference is between the two Os, ㅓ is more open [as if pronouncing a but saying o] and ㅗ is more closed [as if pronouncing u but saying o].

The complex vowels are just the simple ones combined into diphtongs:

의 ŭi/i (this one is a tough one to pronounce) 의사 - ŭisa = doctor 주의 - chui = caution as a posessive particle 나의 - na(y)e = mine

외 oe 외출 - oech’ul = going outside

애 ae 개 - kae = dog

위 wi 가위 - kawi = scissors

에 e 세상 - sesang = the world

얘 yae 얘기 - yaegi = shortened word for story

예 ye 예술 - yesul = art

와 wa (if you say o-a fast it becomes wa) 과일 - kwail = fruit

워 wŏ (same as oa, but witth u-ŏ) 원 - wŏn = won, Korean currency

왜 wae 왠지 - waenji = for some reason

웨 we 웹툰 - wept’un = webtoon

The two Es are pronounced the same way nowadays. It used to differ in the past but unlike ㅓ and ㅗ, the pronounciation of ㅐ and ㅔ is now the same.

To put the letters together I recommend you check out this page on wikipedia. There’s nice diagrams that explain how to put together and write syllables.

I think the entire writing system is very systematic and logical - it was created artificially in 1443 after all :)

🐰Will you please share your top 3 moments from BSD? From any 3 seasons or manga! My first one was how Dazai visited Ango after fucking with his airbag and making him hospitalized.Like the LOOK he gave him Screamed 'I fuckin remember what you did and now we're even'. It was so pretty but scary at the same time.But I love Ango and he is a good character! 2nd would be Dazai coming to Oda's rescue and listening to his advice(which in MY opinion was only partially correct and could've been better).

Hello, anon~ 🥰 Well, I really haven't read the manga so most is from the anime. And yes, I think that scene with Ango and Dazai was funny haha. Now I can only partially remember Oda's last words but I think it would work depending on the person. Other people would think that if in the end it's all the same, then why try to be good? But some people could think that yes, it's all the same in the end, we're all going to end up in the same fate, so while we still can, we should try and leave a positive imprint on the world. Not just for ourselves, but for the people around us or will come after us. I guess it worked on Dazai bcos aside from Oda being very important to him, he knows Oda has been on both sides. He walked the same hell as Dazai, if not worse. So for him to tell him that being on the good side is better, then he must be right. He had every right to hate the whole world and have that want to let it burn, but at the end, he still thinks that living on the good side is what really counts. But you're right, it could've been delivered better maybe haha anyways, here's mine! I didn't get all analytical with this and just went with the ones I enjoyed the most, so I may sound so shallow haha

Episode 5: Murder On D Street — Do I really need to say why this is one of my favorite moments? Haha but, really, aside from that this is dada's episode, I really enjoyed this. I guess it's bcos it kinda resembled the way Joker Game did its episodes. Every episode (except for some) is a different mystery for you to see unfold. It was short, exciting and fun. I guess I like those bcos I have short attention span and forgets very quickly, so long-winded plots tends to confuse me quite easily hehe and also just bcos it was a cool episode. We get a murder mystery, an epic conclusion to the said mystery, and an important revelation about dada. It was just a fun episode.

Cannibalism Arc — Everybody gets to be so awesome and badass! Of course, especially dada and that's why I love it haha aside from this, we got a deeper insight on the characters' personalities by their reaction on having the life of a person they value threatened. It also shows how much they actually value their leaders, too. The fight scenes were amazing, the way Akutagawa and Atsushi worked together and used their abilities to full extent was great and— Chuuya and dada interaction! Hehe

Manga: Chapter 80 — Again, do I need to say more? Hahaha I've just read it and I can really say that this is one of the most awesome scene in the universe ever. It's one of those epic scenes you see in movies or whatnot, where you're holding your breath from all the tension that's going on in the story, everything is going south but then, all of a sudden, boom! A guardian angel swoops in to save everyone out of the quicksand they were sinking in. I just feel so blessed that the guardian angel was dada. It would so hekkin cool to see it animated. That'll kill my fangirl self haha but most of all, I love it bcos it's the biggest proof of how complex dada's character is 🥰

Bonus: Fitzgerald Rising – amidst the chaos that was going on, this episode felt like a quick but much needed breather. It was light and funny but at the same time, played an important role. This episode made me really fond of Scotty old sport haha

Hey ya’ll! First entry on my ”revived” Tumblr blog is of course about One Piece. Just a quick background, I’m a One Piece fan since of young age (currently 24) and it has been my #1 Manga/Anime ever since. Yo! For the 20th Anniversary of my favorite Manga/Anime, I've decided to create a list of the 20 Things I Love About One Piece

Of course, it is not in particular order and incomplete 'cause meeeeen words won't be enough to describe how much I (and we) love One Piece hahahaha

Sooooo... let us begin!

20. Art

I like the art of One Piece. The color balance and the style of Oda-sama doesn't hurt my eyes. This is one of the first things I look at in a manga I'll read or an anime I'll watch. If I don't like the art, I usually don't continue reading or watching it.

19. Storyline

Nuff said. The image says it all. I really salute Oda-sama's imagination. There's never been a dull moment in One Piece in my opinion (no bias). The story really progresses and continues in depth.

18. Action

What else are you looking for in a shonen manga/anime but action. Those awesome fight scenes and power upgrades. The different devil fruits maaaaaan what more can I say? Marines vs. Pirates fighting for glory satisfies me.

17. Drama

Aside from all the action and fighting, of course there's a reason behind them (those fights). The backstories and flashbacks bring tears to my eyes. (T_T)

16. Humor

This completes and balances the emotions. Who doesn't care for a good laugh aye?

15. History

I love how Oda-sama actually uses real pirates' names and real places for the characters and their backstories. There's research and context behind the characters and the story as a whole. History is incorporated and I like that. We like that, don't we?

14. Plot Twists

Everybody loves plot twists! Damn all those mysteries. These things give you the "ugh", "wtf", "da hell" kinds of emotions. And I can't get enough of all the plot twists One Piece offered and is yet to offer.

One of the best plot twists: SABO IS ALIVE MEN I KNEW IT!!!

13. Government

This really affects me. My friends asked me before why I like One Piece and I answered "It's because of the government vs. rebels kind of thing, the core that the gov't hides, and the heroes mistaken as foes, people's justice that is injusticed". And they tell me "WTF, you dig that deep? meanwhile me, just looking after the fight scenes". Maybe I'm a deep person or because this is what really happens in reality 'elite vs. masses' LOL

Ugh hate those tenryuubitos

12. Marines

I'm a girl but I'm a reservist in the army and ever since I've been a fan of military shizz. That is why I love the concept of the Marines and the ranks ooooh I love talking about ranks and even memorizing their insignias LOL

11. Cool antagonists

I have a love-hate relationship with all of One Piece's antagonists. What can I say? Doffy is cool. I hate Akainu but I think he is cool no he's not cool I take it back 'cause he's magma baby MAGMA FREAKING HOT MAGMA LOL and even if I reallyyyy hate Teach he's still cool with the way he talked to Luffy 'bout pirates' dreams.

10. Cool protagonists

What more can I say? Where can you ever find a protagonist whose power is rubber? What a foolish powerless character righttttttt *wink wink*

09. Awesome characters

All in all everyone's just awesome (well there are some 'ewww' characters like Wapol tho XD). I just don't know anymore. I really bow down to Oda-sama's imagination. Every character has an identity and a unique one at that. The different races. Amazing. All those different species too, men.

08. Nakama

True friends. True loyalty. True respect. Will never let you down. Will never leave you behind. Will always be there for you. Hands down.

07. Generation, Family, and Bloodlines

Man, how amazed I am thinking about Rayleigh-Luffy, Mihawk-Zoro, Zeff-Sanji, Yasopp-Usopp, Hiluluk-Chopper, Tom-Franky, Belmere-Nami, Olvia-Robin... Brook? Laboon-Brook... ugh The Donquixote family, now the Vinsmokes family and the Charlotte family?!!

05. Portgas D. Ace

Sorry guys, no matter what you say I love Ace forever. Some say he's dumb for dying (and I respect everyone's opinion) but damn I like him still. He's freaking hot men, literally and figuratively. HE'S FIRE BAAABY FIIIIREE

One Piece taught me a lot and one of them is to never stop dreaming... cliche but yeah, DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM!!!

E. Have you ever written a crossover?

Yup! I’ve written a handful of them actually, from my first and only bashing fic Vampire vs Shinobi (Twilight and Naruto - I have always hated Twilight) which ngl is only still up on my accounts because it’s something I’ve written and if I prune fics to only be the ones I’m currently proud of... many fics would not stay up very long. My second-biggest fic, both in terms of wordcount and popularity, it also a crossover. The Combat School was my twist on the super common 2012 trope “the exorcists from the manga D.Gray-Man take part in the Triwizard Tournament”, and was my first 100k word fic and I think still ranks highly if you look at Harry Potter/DGM crossovers on FFN by reviews/favourites/followers. I think at one point it was as high as 4th but I doubt it’s that high any more. Slightly sneaky is my TAG/Fight Rising crossover Stolen Shadows, because strictly speaking you could just call it a dragon!AU for TAG, but they’re based on the fandragons I’ve got for the Tracy boys+Thunderbirds on the site and FR does have its own category on AO3 and FFN.

I think those are my only published ones, but I do enjoy prodding at ‘what if these two ‘verses collided’ in my head so there are a few others floating around that’ll probably never be actually written, but they’re fun to play with.

L. What is your favourite fic idea that you don’t think you’ll ever write?

Oh boy, this one’s tough. I usually try to write everything I think is worth anything, but some of them are just huge, so whether or not they’ll happen is another matter entirely. Because I’m really bored I’ll talk about all the current ‘huge and too ambitious to probably ever finish’ ideas. If they do end up one day happening, ah well, you heard them here first :P

Love Makes Fools (One Piece) - A retelling of the Wano Arc (most likely to be scrapped because the daydreaming I call planning happened long before the arc started so none of it is anything like how Oda’s actually shown) that’s actually a shipping fic, unusually for me. Shachi saves Kid’s life and Kid falls in love with him, leaving Shachi to handle the Kid Pirates while the StrawHeart alliance are off doing their usual crazy shenanigans and winding Kaido up.

Fight Against the Tide (Boku no Hero Academia) - A retelling of the entire manga except it’s not Izuku that’s Quirkless, but Bakugo, and unlike Izuku, Bakugo is determined to make it on his own and turns down the offer of One for All (but still manipulates All Might into training him). Lots of Bakugo and Mei chaos as she gives him the support gear he needs to keep up without a Quirk.

If They Never Were (One Piece) - A retelling of the entirety of One Piece (ahahah) except if Luffy never met Shanks and therefore a) never wanted to be a pirate and b) never ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi. Follows Luffy’s adventures in the Marines, and explores what would have happened to the rest of the Straw Hats if they never met Luffy - or at least, never met pirate!Luffy. I actually have a cast of OCs ready to go for this but this project is so ludicrously big I doubt it’ll ever be finished.

TAGxPJO thing - The Greek Gods foresaw the creation of IR and agreed with it, but there was one problem: the Tracy family are all suited to the sky, but most of the Earth is covered in water. Cue Gordon Tracy, son of Lucille Tracy and... Poseidon! The Tracys all know about demigods and gods and stuff but still consider Gordon their full brother, and to keep the monsters away from the powerful young demigod they ended up on the island where Poseidon could protect them (and a promise from Zeus that he won’t blast Thunderbirds out of the sky for having a son of Poseidon in them). Chiron’s going crazy knowing there’s a demigod out there somewhere that he can’t find and train.

TAGxDCMK thing - Okay, so this one is probably my absolute favourite. Scott sees something on a rescue that the Black Org didn’t want him to, so he got APTX’d, and TB1 got stolen. Conan and Haibara take him in and hide him from the world (including his own family) and he joins the fight to take down the BO.�� Meanwhile, the Tracys are going crazy looking for Scott. In this AU no-one knows who IR really are, so Conan and co. don’t know Scott’s real name. However, the Tracys are still a rich family so they’ve rubbed shoulders with the Kudos before and Scott’s met Shinichi as a kid and realises who he is. At some point they end up going to Tracy Island? idk, not sure where it would go after that. And KID is involved because you can’t not involve KID.

O. Is there any fandom you’ve been into that you haven’t written fic for? Why not?

Many, usually because I’m just not inspired enough to actually write anything for them. If they’ve got a really complex canon, or something I just can’t get my head into, I tend to not write, either. Same with if there’s a character I can connect to enough. Examples include Homestuck, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures (although I do have a vague wip for a Steel Ball Run fic, actually) and Miraculous Ladybug, but I’m sure there’s more if I think harder.

Oh hell, why don’t we do both so I can cringe and cry and what I used to be like vs what I’m like now. Going with posted only (wips are a whole other kettle of fish).

First ever posted fic, from September 2009: Unwanted (Naruto). The opening:

There was not a sound to be heard. For once, there was no breeze caressing the emerald leaves in the forest surrounding Konoha. Not a single bird sang; nothing stirred. The bright blue sky didn't contain one cloud - the sunshine was unbroken.

A raven haired teenager stood in the heart of the wood, gazing emotionlessly at the Village Hidden in the Leaves with cold, black eyes.

"It's changed," he murmured quietly. There was a rustle behind him and his three companions appeared.

"So there's your hometown, Sasuke," the silver haired shinobi said, violet eyes inspecting the village. "It's pretty busy." He was right - they could just about make out the general hubbub of village life. The dark haired adolescent said nothing.

"What's wrong, Sasuke-kun?" the only kunoichi in the team asked, putting one hand on Sasuke's chest where his shirt was open, and the other embracing him. He shrugged her off coldly.

"Quit flirting with Sasuke you cow, Karin," the silver haired ninja told the red head.

"I'm not a cow, Suigetsu you...you..." she spluttered, unable to think of a bad enough insult.

"Shut up you two," the final member of the team said quietly, his fiery eyes glinting in the sunlight. Karin and Suigetsu quickly stopped bickering. With much trepidation, Sasuke started to walk towards the gate. He hadn't eaten for days - starving himself, pushing himself further. His vision blurred slightly, but he carried on walking. It wasn't long, however, before everything went black and he fainted.

Most recent fic, from July 2020: Grounded (Thunderbirds). The ending:

"Scott?" Virgil sounded worried, and he opened his eyes – when he had closed them? – to look up at his worried brother. Alan and Gordon hovered nearby, and he looked at them all in turn, even John's silent hologram – his ginger brother hadn't been there when the test had started, hadn't been expected after he pointed out their holotech's range didn't reach that far. "Are you okay?"

Was he okay? He had a broken rib, was recovering from a near-fatal spider bite and its side effects of dehydration, bradycardia and hypotension, and the man who had almost killed his brothers multiple times was standing the other end of the same balcony.

But they were one step, one significant step closer to Dad.

"Yeah," he said, staring out past them, at the platform cradling the most important engine International Rescue had ever created. For the first time since that horrid trash mine day five weeks earlier, he could honestly say, "I'm okay."

I’ll leave you guys to be the judge on whether or not I’ve improved at all. I’d like to think I have.

Audio Log 4 | Stardate 2204

Check, check... Okay, I probably should explain why this is a thing.

Like I’ve said, I don’t believe all of us will make it out of here alive. Or the same as they are now. That’s why I want to immortalize them here in my own logs, a reminder of who they are, and not who they may or will be in the future whatever it holds. Call it a snapshot of the closest friends I’ve made down here, something I’ll be able to remember them by.

And hopefully, in the future, we can sit down and listen to this and laugh about it instead of saving it as a memorial of what used to be.

Let’s start out with my roommates. Shinobu Matsuba is a wonderful person who just needs a touch more confidence in themselves. Understandably, we became fast friends through just living together, but I think the events after the first motive helped bring us closer together - in suffering, admittedly, but hey, misery breeds character after all. Since then, we’ve been exploring around the submersible and trying to understand what’s keeping us here, and I’ve found out a couple more things about him that I didn’t know before. Hopefully, there will be more of those posters for me to collect and give to him - he seems really cheered up by them, helpful when we’re all stuck in this mess.

While I don’t always see eye to eye with Nonoka Kadoya, and not just because she likes to cover one of them up, she’s undoubtedly a wonderful roommate too. During the whole pudding debacle, I had to rely on her a little to keep an eye out on Shinobu-san - when I was pretty out of it myself, thanks fatigue and nausea. We’ve also had a duel, and while the outcome’s irrelevant I think we’ve managed to get to know each other better through it. I hope she doesn’t think I’m mocking her by replying in D&Dish... It’s actually kind of endearing, even if I don’t quite understand her half the time. Reminds me of an old chuunibyou friend of mine.

I don’t know if Law N. Oda thinks of me any more than a nuisance, but I’d like to be her friend... She needs to learn how to relax, that girl. Sixteen is no time of your life to take on so much responsibility, let alone try to be the boss of a class of dysfunctional, hormonal teenagers. I can at least sense that despite her strict nature and oftentimes domineering personality, there’s a sense of justice under all of that... but I’ll also admit talking to her can get on my nerves sometimes. Stubbornness must come with being short, as I can definitely attest.

And while Sayuri Nishu is... pretty short as well, I imagine her stubbornness is muted in favour of a very graceful personality. I enjoy our talks together, not just because I’m hoping to go into the medical field like her someday, but it’s just... relaxing to be able to just talk to someone without worrying too much about the possibility that they’ll judge you. She doesn’t strike me as that kind of person, and for that I already like her a lot. Conversations seem to flow pretty easily between the two of us.

I don’t really know Mizuo Suido very well, but I’m at least certain he’s trying his best too. He’s Akira’s roommate, taller than me by over a foot, and has a palate for romantic vampire novels... Thankfully not the ones I’m familiar with, but it is quite amusing all the same. I don’t think we’re exactly friends just yet, more like friendly acquaintances... but there’s potential.

Conversely, I ended up knowing more about Kosuke Nakamura than I should probably have expected. Part of it was getting that picture in the mail, but the other part is probably how strongly he feels about it. And cats, but cats are a universal constant and conversation starter and it comes as to no surprise that we bonded over mine. I hope you’re okay by the way, Haroo... I’ll be back soon.

Student council pres Genko Junshu has me both in awe and worried about her at times. Before and after trial, I could talk to her very easily and learn more on why she does things the way she do, but I can sense some discomfort within. Her view of the world... naive is too strong a word, perhaps quite unambiguous will suffice? It’s quite black and white, and while that’s not a bad thing, it’ll gnaw on her throughout her stay here if she can’t adapt. We’re out of our comfort zone and struggling to survive together as it is - I can’t help but fear for her if she ends up biting off more than she can personally chew. It doesn’t make her any less of a wonderful young woman, and I’m going to try my best to bring her back home.

Which applies to all of them, really, but even moreso Alotte Ness. This isn’t exactly the kind of welcoming I’d like for Japan to give Norway, and I can only hope that the reality of the situation will make her braver through time. But as long as she can hold onto the caring and sweet part of her demeanour and not compromise her very sincere morals, I think she’ll be just fine. I feel the need to just protect her... she’s too nice for this cutthroat regime. If things were different, I’d really have loved to, well, I suppose ruminating on that won’t help anyone, least of all each other. Right now we will just have to remain friends, I guess.

And of course, I’ve found a new big sister in Akira Akatsuki. Despite the fact we probably bully each other on a regular basis - correction, she bullies me, I only ever poke fun at her while she’ll flick my forehead - I think I feel the closest to her after knowing her for the weeks we’ve been here. She’s hilarious, kick-ass, takes absolutely no bullshit and honest even if it could get her in trouble... all the things I wish I could be and get away with it. Besides, we both come from lower privileged households, and I think we both know the value of what we have and what we have not. It’s a simple, refreshing outlook on life that we both can see, and I’m definitely going to see to it she goes to Universal Studios on her break, with her siblings. I’m going to let her have her day off even if it hurts me later.

The rest are just as important, well, most of them... But for some I just haven’t gotten to know them enough to form an opinion without jumping to conclusions, and others I’d rather not talk about. Muneyuki-sensei always said that if you haven’t anything nice to say about someone, best not to say anything at all. Discretion is the better part of valour... that, and I really don’t have anything complimentary I’d like to say right now about a certain few.

Just because I like people doesn’t mean I’m not biased or opinionated. Even god plays favourites sometimes.

That’s all I have to say for now. I’ll continue to cling onto that shred of hope that the rest of them will make it out somehow... even if the rational part of me knows that I shouldn’t be blindly optimistic. It’s not wrong to hold onto a smile, though, isn’t it?

Chance Encounter

1: PROLOGUE

Disclaimer: One Piece (and its characters) belongs to Eiichiro Oda-sensei.

Reminder: I have no beta-reader. Any grammatical and spelling errors are solely mine.

Warning: OOC possible.

Rating: T

Note: I’m going to deviate from my usual fluffy stuff. I was browsing my draft collection, because there is a lot of pending write-ups and this one’s been there for far too long… since 2017 to be exact. Procrastinate much.

This was originally planned as a two-chaptered fic. And I’m hoping I stick to that.

Summary: There was a weird sensation pulling at her midriff; followed by a loud, sucking sound before she was suddenly plunged into darkness.

“Watch out!”

The shrill sound of Usopp screaming reached her ears. Nami watched, horrified, as each of her nakama evaded the eerie, almost dark purplish light that was heading towards them.

She stood, rooted on the spot. Her body failing to move even as her brain kept commanding it to shift out of the way or she’s going to take a direct hit.

Her brown-colored orbs widened with the realization that she’s not going to make it in time. Her hands tightened their grip on her weapon as the light advanced towards to her.

She heard Luffy’s voice shouting her name, as well as the wailing cry of their cook calling out for her. She didn’t understand why in that split second before the light hit her, her senses seemed to have become acute.

There was Robin’s loud gasp, Chopper bursting into tears, Franky screaming ‘strong right’ and Brook yelling Yahazu Giri.

Her ears picked up the sound of someone running towards her. Her eyes tried to search for the source of the sound. Somehow in the back of her mind, she already knew who was responsible for it.

She stared haplessly as Zoro tried to reach her in time to save her from the damning light. His face was taut with concentration as he tried to move faster towards her.

“Nami!” He shouted, one sword-less hand stretching out to her.

Surprisingly, she was able to lift her own towards him.

“Zoro…” she whispered his name, vainly trying to reach out to him.

But he was too late.

The light hit her. It enveloped her whole body, her whole being—warm and unexpectedly soothing.

The Straw Hat pirates stared, aghast, as their orange-haired navigator suddenly disappeared right before their very eyes.

It was Monkey D. Luffy’s idea, as usual, to explore the unknown island where they just dropped anchor.

After two weeks of nothing but the ocean in their sight, the exuberant captain was at the end of his expectedly short rope to have his ‘land adventure time’—much to the chagrin of everyone who knows that Luffy’s so-called adventures usually ends with all of them knee-deep in trouble.

After the kaizoku bento was distributed, the crew separated into groups: one to survey the island, one to look for the town and restock their supplies and one to stop Luffy’s idiocy from rampaging. Brook volunteered to guard the ship and Sanji promised to relieve him once he’s able to get some food shopping done.

All’s well until the survey and babysitter groups ran into some weird, crazy guy who has the strange ability to make anyone or anything disappear. How Luffy came across the downright creepy fellow while exploring the mountain’s forest… no one can answer. After all, said captain has an unusual knack for attracting trouble everywhere he goes.

It was a good thing though that for such a rather powerful ability, their enemy seems to be truly unaware of its true potential. For he was just randomly flinging purplish circle of lights, screaming that they leave him alone or he’ll make them all disappear with his power.

Usopp concluded that it was probably because the guy’s got too many loose screws in his head. After all, he was living hermetically in an isolated cave on top of the island’s mountain.

The others, sensing that something was amiss when both groups failed to return to the Sunny after a few hours and seeing the tell-tale signs of a battle going on up in the mountains made their way to the skirmish.

It should’ve been an easy battle, but someone had to deliberately irritate the hell more out of the enemy by dousing him with seawater.

Much to the crew’s amazement, the only effect of the water was to vex their opponent more as he hurled much larger circle of lights at them. This was not a devil fruit user as they had originally believed.

A surprised gasp came from Robin and she went on to explain that while visiting the town’s library earlier, she read something about an old island legend regarding an accursed man who has the power to make people and things disappear.

“Not a devil fruit Robin-chan?” Sanji asked as he avoided another light aimed at his direction.

Robin shook her head. “Unfortunately, no,” she answered. Behind her, Usopp and Chopper dove at the same time behind a bush to evade a light whooshing towards them. "And here I thought it was just a legend." The excitement in her voice was evident despite them being under attack.

“So it’s a mystery power!” Luffy exclaimed excitedly, holding onto his hat firmly as he jumped randomly to escape the lights directed at him.

“You can say so, sencho-san” Robin replied smiling. She hid behind a tree as another round light whizzed past her.

“So how do we beat him?” Zoro growled. He launched a Pondo Ho towards one of the lights. Both his slash and the light dissipated out of thin air. He sidestepped to elude another and promptly collided with the navigator.

“Zoro!” Nami chastised him frowning. “Watch where you’re going!”

“Well don’t just stand there like tree woman!”

“Marimo!” Sanji screamed at him. “How dare you hit Nami-swan!”

“Uruse ero-cook!”

“Shitty swordsman!” The cook seethed.

“I can’t believe you’re getting lost even here.” Nami snapped, fighting the urge to bonk his thick head with her Clima-tact. She roughly pulled at his green coat just as another light flew past the swordsman’s left side.

“Thanks but no thanks witch,” the green-haired lad scowled at her.

“Hey I just saved you! Gratitude please!” Nami retorted. Another light soared towards them and Zoro wasted no time in grabbing her around the waist and pulling her behind a tree.

“Now we’re even.” He muttered condescendingly as they hid behind the trunk. Nami huffed in response and they watched as Franky leaped at the bushes beside them, hollering ‘super’ as he dodged an attack sent towards him.

“Ok this is getting way too long!” Sanji complained.

“Took the words right out of my mouth, swirly!” Zoro sneered, drawing out another katana. Nami backed away from him as the he stepped out of their hiding place.

“Did not, baka kenshin!” The cook yelled back.

“Usopp,” Nami called the long-nosed sniper. “Long-range attacks!”

Usopp nodded. With their enemy’s ability, it poses a much lesser risk to hit him with flying attacks rather than meet him head on.

“Luffy, Sanji-kun!” Nami warned both the cook and the captain not to attack the enemy.

“Hai, Nami-swaaan!”

“But Namiiii…” Their captain childishly protested. Bored from jumping too much, he landed beside the navigator with a pout.

Nami pulled his ear. “Baka! What are you going to do if you get hit with that light and you disappear?!”

“Let the others attack him first Luffy,” Robin said, appearing behind them suddenly. Crossing her arms in front of her, she said, “Franky!”

“Aaww!” Franky, who felt hands pushing him up, jumped from the bushes where he landed earlier, striking a super pose to indicate the he's a-ok.

“Brook!” Sanji bellowed, not seeing the skeleton anywhere near the vicinity.

“Right here Sanji-san,” Brook answered, way up on one of the trees near them.

“Damn it you idiot where you hiding there all the time?!”

“Yohohohoho!”

“Chopper where are you?!” Nami looked around hoping the doctor did not get hit by those troublesome light their enemy was bombarding them.

“Here Nami!” The little reindeer raised a hoof; hopping down from where was currently perched atop of Usopp’s head. He hopped down to stand beside the sniper.

With all the Mugiwara crew accounted for. It was time for a counter-attack.

“Weapons left!” Franky hollered just as Usopp simultaneously released one of his Kabuto bombs.

“Zoro!” Nami yelled.

“Way ahead of you woman!” The swordsman answered, placing Wado Ichimonji between his teeth. He released a much powerful version of his previous Pondo Ho.

The concurrent attack hit their enemy head on. There was an explosion and an ear-piercing scream of pain as smoke filled the spot where the man was standing.

Usopp winced. “Ooops. I think we overdid it.”

“Super overdid it.” Franky agreed.

Sanji nonchalantly shoved a cigarette into his mouth as he studied the scene. “Yeah you all did.” He muttered with a flick of his lighter. “He’s just a normal human being and you all went all out to attack him.”

“Shut up shit cook,” Zoro snarled at his direction. “Better than just standing there and doing nothing.”

“Say that again shit head!”

“Both of you shut your traps.” Nami immediately stepped between the two men. “Now is not the time for yapping at each other.”

“Tch.”

“Hai Nami-swaaan!”

The others ignored them and continued staring at the still smoke-filled area, waiting.

Out of the blue, another light flew towards their direction, bigger than before.

“Everyone scatter!” Luffy commanded, stretching his arm towards a random tree limb and making a grab for one of the nearest crew member, who unluckily was Usopp.

The crew scattered out instantly. “Heeeelp!” The sharpshooter screeched as he was lifted mid-air.

“Kyaaaah!” Nami shrieked.

“Move! Move! You’ll get hit!” Zoro’s voice reached her ears and she bounded towards her left blindly. She felt his arm grabbed her by the waist, hauling her up and tucking her under his arm. Nami was in too much panic to even care that he was lugging her like a sack of potatoes.

“Nami-swan!” Sanji squawked when he saw the green-haired dumbass carelessly carting off his favorite lady brusquely. “Put her down you boorish, moronic marimo! Nami-swaaaan! Come into my arms so that I can protect you! Ack!” He nearly tripped when he accidentally collided with Brook, who landed beside him, when he tried to dodge the light.

“Ah Sanji-san. You must not lose concentration lest you get hit!” The skeleton reminded him as he swept the cook into his bony arms and effortlessly leapt towards another tree.

“Brook! You shitty skeleton! Put me down!”

“Yohohoho! No.”

“Nami-saaaan!” He yelled again when he and the musician landed safely on a sturdy tree branch.

“Somebody shut him the hell up!” Zoro roared from somewhere down.

“Urusai!” Nami can be heard screeching after. “Can’t you see we are in the middle of battle?!” She, along with Chopper (whom she didn’t see earlier was also tucked under Zoro’s other arm), are hiding with the swordsman behind a thick group of trees. As for Robin and Franky, she failed to see where they took cover.

“LEAVE ME ALONE!” Their enemy was screaming as he continuously launched purplish lights at them. Nami squeezed Chopper towards her, ducking her head lower as the reindeer hugged her back just as forcefully.

“Careful! He is going out of control!” Franky cautioned from afar, exactly where, no one can pinpoint.

Nami heard Zoro made a tch-ing sound as he carefully peered from behind the tree trunk to observe what was happening. From up a random tree Usopp was complaining, “Ouch! Don’t push me! Luffy!”

Then he yelped. The light hit the tree where he and Luffy were. Luckily, the rubber man was able to swing himself to the safety of another but had forgotten to take Usopp with him.

The sharpshooter did not hesitate to dive down the ground before the tree they were at disappeared completely.

Everyone held their breath as Usopp was suddenly rolled towards the refuge of some thick shrubbery by Robin’s bloomed arms.

“Robin!” A sob can be heard from under the foliage. “Thank you!”

“You’re welcome.”

“Shi shi shi! Sorry Usopp.” Luffy apologized sheepishly as he leapt down to where Usopp was lying prone.

“Temee Luffy! You idiot, you forgot me!”

“Everyone look out!” Robin cautioned as another light surged towards them.

One by one the trees and shrubberies were disappearing as the purple light hit them.

“Damn it!” Zoro suddenly swore when this time it was their hiding place that vanished. He grabbed Nami’s arm, roughly yanking her up.

“Zoro!”

“Move Nami!” He pushed her forward. “Chopper head towards those trees!”

“Hai!” Chopper jumped from Nami’s arms and change to his heavy point. He grabbed the navigator and made a dash towards where Zoro was pointing.

“Chopper! You could’ve change into your walk point!” Nami protested.

“Eeeh?!”

“Too late! Just go! Go!”

From behind them, Luffy was now telling off the enemy.

“Oi ossan! Stop throwing those mystery lights on us!”

But the man was oblivious. He was only focused in eliminating them out of his sight.

“That’s it! Gomu gomu no…”

“Luffy stop!” Almost everyone shouted.

“Pistol!”

Luffy’s rubber fist collided with the man’s face, sending him flying a good four feet away.

“LUFFY!” They all gaped as the man lay sprawled on the ground, seemingly unconscious.

“Yosh!” Their captain declared with a nod, crossing his arms and looking absolutely pleased with himself.

“Well that put a stop to—” Brook’s voice trailed off when the man stood up, looking totally unaffected by Luffy’s punch.

Usopp let out a whimper. “Is it me or he looks angrier than ever?”

No one answered. Because no one can.

For the man suddenly let out an enraged scream as huge purple orbs appeared all around him. He swung his arm with all his might, casting all of them towards the pirates.

“WATCH OUT!!!” Usopp screamed.

Zoro stared at the empty space in front of him.

His hand was still extended, his fingers still poised to grab the woman who was not there any longer.

Just a few inches more…

Yet he was not able to reach her in time.

“Nami!!!!”

Somewhere from behind him, their captain screamed.

Little did I know that our fated “coincidence” would come a lot sooner than I expected. Just a few days later in fact.

Mai: (What did I get myself into?!)

I clutched Nobunaga’s back, desperately trying keep myself from falling off his tottering horse.

Mai: Why do I have to be here in this battle?!

Nobunaga: You had the audacity to talk to me so brazenly… Going to a battle or two should be quite easy for you.

Mai: No, it isn’t!

Mai: (To think that a remark would come to bite me back like this…)

Mai: …unghh, watch out!

<<CLANG>>

Enemy Soldier: Gahh…!

Mai: (Amazing…In one blow…)

Nobunaga: For a small region, their response/counterattack is quite excessive. Don’t tell me this is…

Messenger: My lord, a report. The Takeda’s Akazonae has appeared at the front….!

Nobunaga: So, you’ve come. Shingen.

Without even a moment’s hesitation, Nobunaga spurred the horse forward towards the battle’s front. A chaotic view welcomed us as we arrived at the scene and with it –

Shingen: Go! Show them the power of the Takeda army as it rises from the ashes!

Mai: …! That man…

Nobunaga: Takeda Shingen. A man also known as The Tiger of Kai.

Mai: Takeda…Shingen.

He wore a seemingly out of place, yet imposing smile amidst the battlefield. As I looked on—

A small yet crucial memory emerged from the bottom of my mind, inexorably called on by the profound sight.

<<FLASHBACK>>

Shingen: Along with the rising flames of Honno-ji, to think we’d see a woman walking alone in the dead of night…

Shingen: Are you a ghost? Then again, have ghosts always been this beautiful?

<<END FLASHBACK>>

Mai: (How could I forget? I met him on the night I arrived here through the wormhole.)

Nobunaga: Shingen…It seems the rumor of you being alive was true after all.

Nobunaga: There was once a time where I challenged Shingen to a great war. However, in the wake of that, word had spread of his death by illness. As a result, the Takeda army collapsed, and I’ve since claimed victory.

Nobunaga: This encounter has made it clear, however, that not only has he survived his illness but also, has held on to life for this long; bidding his time, looking for the perfect opportunity to exact his revenge. –Along with that man.

My eyes followed the finger that pointed towards a figure relentlessly making his way forward amongst the brutal cries of the Takeda’s Cavalry.

Kenshin: Don’t fall behind the Takeda’s Akazonae. Shake this battlefield with the fury of the Uesugi army’s elite regiment.

Mai: That’s…!

Mai: (That man was there on the night I met Shingen as well….)

Nobunaga: The dragon of Echigo, Uesugi Kenshin. He’s also a man that was supposedly proclaimed dead.

Kenshin gracefully dismounted from his horse, bringing himself down amongst the ruthlessness and violence stemming from the soldiers surrounding him.

Shingen: What’s wrong Kenshin? Why get off your horse?

Kenshin: The soldiers we’re dealing with are nothing short of typical. If I don’t at least do this, I’ll be bored out of my mind.

Shingen: Such an impatient guy. …Guess I have no choice.

Mai: (He’s getting off as well?!)

Shingen: Well then, how about we start with those who want to die.

Kenshin: Those with so much as a spine come to me. Cowards can go fall against Shingen’s sword.

Soldier after soldier within the Oda army came forward to the challenge, and soldier after soldier were easily cut down by the two imposing forces.

Mai: (Their power is amazing…)

Nobunaga: It appears the fangs of both the tiger and the dragon haven’t decayed in the slightest.

Oda Soldier: My lord, it’s dangerous here! Please, fall back.

It was then that Shingen’s narrow gaze gave a sidelong glance in our direction….

Mai: (He’s noticed us…?)

Shingen: ……

Kenshin: Shingen, when I fight with you my share of prey gets taken, and I get bored.

Shingen: Oh, don’t be like that. Wanting to show off in front of an absolute beauty is part of my nature.

Kenshin: Beauty?

Kenshin’s eyeline bridged the gap and traveled across the chaos of soldiers to where Nobunaga and I stood; and in that instant, a look of sheer joy emerged from his face, replacing his predominantly bored expression.

Kenshin: Nobunaga…! So, you have finally decided to show yourself.

Nobunaga: Come, Dragon of Echigo! I’ll be your opponent.

Mai: (Don’t tell me they’re going to start fighting each other…?)

Shingen: Wait, Kenshin. Our objective for today is over. We’re not aiming to kill Nobunaga in this battle.

Mai: (What?)

Kenshin: Quit the jokes. Don’t think I’ll be letting go of this first-rate prey standing right in front of me without so much as a bite.

Shingen: However, killing a woman’s escort leaves a bad taste in the mouth, don’t you think? Our time with Nobunaga will come. But for now, the proper stage still needs to be set.

Shingen managed to hold back Kenshin with his simple, matter-of-fact elucidation. It was then that he directed his eyes back at me, a dangerous glint shining within its depths…

Shingen: So, we meet again, Azuchi’s princess. Our first was a coincidence; our second a necessity. And now we’re at our third. It would be a lie not to call this ‘destiny’.

Shingen: I’m looking forward to our fourth reunion. By which time – I’ll make you mine.

His lips formed a thin smile. Despite the tense situation, my heart skipped as if moved by some odd premonition, instigated by the all-too-confident promise…

What’s your fashion like? [Time travelers – pre & post-wormhole!]

[Pre-wormhole] Loose and Comfortable; I have the whatever-the-hell-I-find-in-my-closet attitude; I like anything that isn’t too restricting of movement. Honourable Mentions: oversized shirts, rompers, halter-necks, and combat/military attire. Also anything green :D

[Post-wormhole] Having to get accustomed to the everyday kimono; I hate the fact that it restricts movement in some places but it’s bearable. I often sneak back into my preferred clothing whenever I’m at home and/or alone

Where are you from?

From the Modern Era; adopted by a well-travelled Japanese scholar from an orphanage in Colombia. (I have my own complicated backstory ^^;)

Feudal era – pros and/ or cons?

Pros: New culture, prospect of finding some ‘lost/unknown history’, experiencing history re-write itself first-hand, the unexpectedly hot men in power (the traditional paintings/drawing really don’t do them justice 0.0) and their suprisingly progressive values.

Cons: Standard clothing I need to wear to ‘fit in’, cultural differences, archaic living standards, I’m a foreigner - so getting stared at unabashedly by townspeople, passer-bys etc.

Also, conformity, at times. It’s ironic to think that there’s something humble about seeing the roots of what’s still known today as a highly homogenous society; whilst also being well-aware of its dangers.

If you’re not in your homeland/time, do you want to go home?

Home, to me, is with the people that make me happy.This includes my adopted family (who are time-travelers as well, spread out over different historical periods; again a lot of backstory). Whether we’re in the modern world or the Sengoku, or some other place; that comes secondary. I care more about the people I surround myself with.

What’s your home life like?

Sometimes loud and rowdy, sometimes relaxing and homey. But never boring.

You just got your dream job! What is it? / Or, what’s your line of work?

Besides being a full-time scholar/soldier/time-traveler, I’m really into the Arts in general, particularly Film and Photography (this is totally my creator projecting :p). I want to become some form of storyteller (i.e. writer, filmmaker) once I’m done with my travels.

Any other hobbies or skills? Do you use them / how do you use them in the Sengoku period?

I do a lot of performing arts, particularly acting, dancing and music. Helps as a coping mechanism whenever I get a chance to have a break. But acting helps me with espionage missions, infiltration and reconnaissance while in a different time period as well.

I’m, in my own way, a sociology/history geek and love learning about different cultures. I usually have some preparatory knowledge to help navigate through different time periods including the Sengoku Jidai.

Horse-riding has also been a big part of my life ever since I came back from the American frontier in the 1860s. It helped me in more ways than I can ever imagine in other time periods, but nothing beats the feeling of just running across an open field, almost as if you’re flying.

Where is your base of operations? Azuchi Castle? Kasugayama Castle? A pirate ship? Running all over the woods or in a secret monastery? Some other cool place?

I hop from place to place, depending on where the wind takes me ^^. Or where I’m needed for jobs. But I do have a small cottage with a ranch in a forest, somewhere between the Uesugi and Oda territories. I found it abandoned while scouting, and it’s become my temporary home where I can be myself without worry.

How do you feel about killing and violence?

I’m no stranger to violence. But killing I have a complicated relationship with. If I have time to be merciful, then I will be.

For something like war, in my experience, it’s a lot harder to choose not to kill. Your survival intincts raise every hair in your body, and a part of you knows that if you leave things to chance, you could wind up dead. There are consequences for every action you take, whether you decide to kill or not. You can only hope that you don’t end up regretting it.

It’s one of the reasons I prefer to stay within the medical unit as a nurse/vet. I only go into combat if I have no other choice. Nurses and medics, though, still need to know how to fight. If I end up dead, who’s going to take care of the wounded?

Have you learned to fight? If so, what’s your weapon and/or fighting style of choice?

Yes. I’m trained in various combat styles to fit whatever era/historical period I’m going to. I’m fair at martial arts and know my way around a sword. But I prefer long-range weapons combined with horse-back riding i.e. bow and arrow, throwing daggers and guns/rifles.

What are you fighting for?

For a future and my family. But also the people I meet that I can’t seem to turn my back on. Because they, for better or worse, have become a part of that family as well.

What are your feelings about authority?

I’m compliant as long as the reigning authority is competent. In other words, I pick my battles. I appreciate big-picture solutions for the world, as well as just/fair governing methods.

But if you’re a tyrant that blatantly inflicts suffering on people without reason other than personal gain; then you can show yourself out the fucking door. Oh and I hope you trip and break your neck while you’re at it.

How do you handle someone invading your personal space?

[Not in a relationship] I’m non-confrontational at heart, but if any part of you is too close for comfort well...At first, I’ll tell you to step off in the nicest way possible.

If you’re one of those persistent ones...I’ll just keep distancing myself warily.

If you make a move on me, on the other hand, without constent...there will be physical contact. I suppose it’ll depend on what’s closer. For example:

Your face = I’ll give it a hard high-five (you know, for trying 👍🏼)

Your torso = a Judo Flip

NO. Unless we’re in a relationship, I won’t do that sort of thing. I’m a “treat-people-the-way-you-want-to-be-treated” kind of person, in this regard. I don’t invade your space, you don’t invade mine without my constent.

Are you more open, or more reserved? Are you secretive?

I’m quite independent, reserved and closed-off. I act charming when interacting with other people as a sort of.....misdirection. Or just trying to mingle with their energy so that they feel comfortable when talking to me.

When most people see me, they usually don’t know I’m playing a part. I’ve heard people who are close to me call me a ‘Method Actor’ at times. It takes time for me to open up, but if you prove yourself to be trusworthy then the walls are probably going to be easier to break down.

I think I’m just very overprotective of my real self.

Is this the first time you’ve been truly in love?

*Okay I’m not gonna ship this one with anyone in particular but if she were to fall in love with someone, this is probs how she would answer the question; warning she’s a romantic at heart, and so am I ^^;*

Well, I haven’t fallen in love before, so perhaps I’m completely in the dark ^^;

But if a person offers you their everything... and in turn, you want nothing more but to accept every flaw, push through every difference, and in the end, still choose to be with them...Would you call that being ‘truly in love’?

[In everyday life] To be completely honest, I really don’t know. I’ve never thought about it. But there’s no doubt in my mind that I would try my best to make them happy, think of things I can do for them etc. If the person will have me,of course ^^;

[In bed] Okay...well, I imagine if I’m in love with a guy, I wouldn’t mind being completely vulnerable; letting him take the lead, being submissive etc.

BUT I do have a very cheeky side of me that gets triggered if my partner ever gets cocky (no pun intended). If you’re going to show me how much you love me then by all means, do so. But don’t think for one second that I’ll let you have all the fun. 😏

What are your favorite ways for someone to show you love?

I’ve always liked it when a person (in my case, a guy) has ‘good-timing’~ He surprises you by noticing little things about you that you never really took stalk off, and brings them up unexpectedly in small yet adorable gestures.

Otherwise, just being reminded that he’s there for me when I need him, is a good enough way to show that he loves me~

My Top Love Languages are: Quality time and Physical touch (hugging, cuddling, falling asleep in each other’s arms, kata-zun etc.)

Do you use a pet name or endearments for your lover(s)?

I use endearments when talking with friends/aquaintances, (hun, honey, lovely etc.) but never with a lover 🤔 It might be time to start experimenting...

*sigh* I can respect him as a leader, and understand his ambition. But if he thinks he can try to “conquer” my foot in a game of Go; the same foot is going to come down hard on his face the moment he tries to eat/kiss it.

Canon Things (...warning a lot of backstory angst? also kinda flipping to third person ^^;)

~ Akari’s an experienced time-traveler and was trained from a very young age by her grandfather and his group of misfit scholars/time-travelers/soldiers called ‘The Nomads’, to go on missions throughout different time-periods.

~ She’s a horrible cook. Can’t fry for shit, without burning anything. One day she tried cooking for her infantry unit during wartime. Everyone threw their food in a dug up ditch behind her back while telling her it was delicious. They ate something else later on.

~ She has scars on her back. A huge burn scar on her left shoulder and lines/gashes crisscrossing that can only be caused by a whip. She doesn’t seem to mind whether she covers them or not; her comfort in terms of wardrobe comes first. But when she doesn't cover them, she often gets asked how she got them.

The answer: during her teens, she was sent on a mission during a period where slavery was still accepted. Because of her race and suspected ethnicity, she had been abducted while on her mission and sold into slavery. The burn scar and whippings were punishments for multiple attempted escapes she made from her “masters”. After her punishments, she was often held in a basement where she spent days without food and water and was left in the dark.

Apart from the evident physical damage, this also left a lasting trauma and developed a fear of dark and confined places. It wasn’t ‘til a few weeks later that her grandfather - after looking endlessly for her - finally saved her.

~ She suffers from PTSD from multiple missions (war, slavery, torture, movements); but pushes on, feeling indebted to the family that took her in, especially her grandfather. She became really good at hiding her PTSD in front of other people but often seeks alone time in peaceful settings to calm her heart.

~ She’s hardened but tries hard to enjoy the fun things in life and keeps pursuing to find happiness for herself, even though it can be difficult for her sometimes due to her PTSD.

~ The main objectives of her missions are usually to find ‘lost/unknown’ history, and sometimes even making altercations to fate (i.e. saving unknown soldiers, civilians during wartime). In the Sengoku period, however, she’s been sent there to find some of the groups’ soldiers that have been M.I.A for 6 months, including her grandfather, Gendo-san, and adopted brother, Roe.
