Promotion MV (with theme song written for the event) for upcoming live event celebrating the third anniversary of Ikemen Sengoku... God, I wish I could go! Look at all those gorgeous CGs!!

I pray some kind soul uploads the video of the event again, because the second anniversary event was super fun...  (>_<) 🙏

Quick translation of the boys’ lines :

Masamune : “Three years is far from enough. Give me more of yourself.”

Shingen : “Princess. Won’t you continue to let me monopolize that lovely smile of yours?”

Mitsuhide : “Three years, huh... I’ll look over your growth from now on while teasing you.”

Sasuke : “These three years have made me reconfirm my feelings. That, you are extremely precious to me.”

Ieyasu : “I want to see that carefree face forever, so... Continue staying by my side.”

Kennyo : “Whether it’s coincidence, or destiny... It seems that we share a strong fate that can’t be expressed in words.”

Mitsunari : “No matter how many years pass, my feelings for you only grow stronger. It’s troubling, isn’t it?”

Yukimura : “We fought a lot these three years, but... In the end, for me, it can only be you.”

Hideyoshi : “These three years that we got through together, have been full of precious memories. Thank you.”

Kenshin : “Your lovely expressions and words that I’ve seen and heard so far... All of it has been engraved on my heart.”

Nobunaga : “Over these three years, I’ve realized that you are, after all, the best woman in this world.”

Apparently Shingen’s VA was slated to appear at the event, but due to health issues he won’t be making an appearance after all. Hope he feels better soon...

Also, I just want to note that Mitsunari isn’t really troubled by it, as in he thinks of it as a problem. He’s saying it in more of a, ‘I love you so much that I don’t know how to deal with it” sort of way. Chalk it up to translation woes. He actually says this - ‘komaru’ - ’a fair bit in his route... I’m looking forward to how the official translator works around this!

(From Mitsunari’s main story! In which Mitsubun is a jealous bunny, again. I’m going to summarize a few lines instead of translating line by line cause this story would be too long otherwise.)

(While they’re visiting Kennyo in Azuchi’s jail...)

Kennyo : “It’s because you lack the gravity of a man, that’s why you get called something like ‘Mitsunari-kun’.”

(A few days later, MC wakes to find Mitsunari already awake and dressed, a notably unusual occurrence for ‘proper sleep schedule? what’s that?’-Mitsunari. And with her breakfast, to boot.)

Mitsunari : “Today, I want to take care of you, MC-sama.”

MC : “Take care of me?”

Mitsunari : “Yes. Please, let me do so.”

Mitsunari : “I will do my best to prove to you that I am a man that you can rely on.”

Mitsunari : “Then, let’s start by getting you dressed.”

Mitsunari : “I have watched you tie your sash many times, so I learned how.”

(MC, of course, gets embarrassed about having him dress her - even though they’ve already done the do by this point and he’s seen her without a scrap of clothing - but... Well, let’s just say that nobody can defy the Mitsunari Puppy Look. Nobody! )

MC : “Okay... Well... Perhaps you could help me tie my sash then! I’ll put on the rest of my clothes by myself first, okay?” 

(After struggling to tie her sash for a bit...)

Soon, on his handsome face, a look of panic started to grow.

Mitsunari : “It’s difficult, isn’t it?”

Mitsunari-kun muttered, with a look of bafflement on his face.

(MC reassures him that to her, the way she calls his name is a form of endearment. Just like how it’s special when he calls her MC-sama. He finally Gets It that even if she uses -kun with him, it doesn’t mean that she thinks of him as unmanly.)

Mitsunari : “I was about to forget something very important.”

Mitsunari : “My goal was to make you happy and... How I achieve it, isn’t really important, is it?”

Mitsunari : “I will change my strategy. Because, it’s easier to take off your clothes than to put them on.”

Ah, now that I think about it, you're right! Some of her comments were something like "was he always this kind of a sexy person?" or comments about his airheadedness/airheads are dangerous

It’s the beauty mark, it adds +100 to his sexiness value

I feel happy/anxious about mitsun's route for en but I wonder how they're rewriting it. I hope it isn't mostly "(He's so cute!!) -mc" every 5 lines since jp's mc does it a couple times but it's moderate. But I'm also low-key curious how a sassy mc does with mitsunari since some of her thoughts are also fun. Jp's mc is gentle and watching her character development feels so satisfying for me as she gains more resolve in what she wants and her decisions and how she wants to be of use

It feels like in Mitsunari’s route, MC seems to comment a lot on how unknowingly sexy he is rather than how adorable he is, though. X’D 

I’ve a feeling that English-MC is going to be thirsty, in his route, given how much more forward she is compared to JP-MC. ^_^

Mitsunari-kun had collapsed against my shoulder. I was startled at the sight of Mitsunari-kun sleeping soundly as he leaned on me.

...

As I was thinking [of how to get him to his bed], Mitsunari-kun stirred and opened his eyes.

Mitsunari : “MC-sama.”

Mitsunari-kun lifted his face a little, kissed my cheek, and smiled.

Mitsunari : “I adore you.”

Then, he once again leaned against my shoulder, and soft sleeping sounds started to rise from him.

1. Holy crap I love both versions of this event. Squealing from start to finish. How dare one man be so cute AND hot at the same time?

2. ...Is this... the Mitsubun-version of when your pet falls asleep on you and you don’t dare to move for fear of waking the sweetheart?

3. The imagery of Mitsubun being all fuzzy from sleep, semi-waking to find his beloved MC in his arms, and being so utterly in love that he spills his heart out to her on the spot while half-asleep is... NNNGH. *clutches chest* 

4. That single sentence, “I adore you”, nearly killed me with cute?? MY HEART???

Mitsunari : “Ah... I am sorry. You were so adorable, I couldn’t help but tease you a little.”

When he finally kissed me [on my lips], the ache in my body felt like it was swallowing me whole.

My breathing was almost painfully ragged as I peered up at Mitsunari-kun through misty eyes.

Mitsunari : “When I kiss you on your lips, MC-sama looks as though you are melting... It’s so stirring, it troubles me.”

As though he were in high spirits, Mitsunari-kun smiled merrily; his cheeks were definitely flushed now.

I reached out to take the sake cup that Mitsunari-kun had filled for me... But, suddenly, he brought the cup to his own lips and knocked back the entire cup. Startled, I stared in bafflement at him, when-

MC : “Mmm...!”

All of a sudden, he pulled me to him and took my lips forcefully. Urgently, he parted my lips, and the sake flowed from his mouth into mine.

When all the sake had emptied into my mouth, his tongue chased it and twined with mine as though he were savoring it.

Yo! Do you have any tips on translating Japanese audio videos like those ikesen drama skits, those were awesome!

Oh, geez, sorry for the radio silence. 

There aren’t any real tips, but I do make extensive use of online JP dictionaries, particularly fond of https://jisho.org. It allows searching by romaji, english, hiragana, katakana, kanji... It’s great.

Off the beaten track, but this song came up on my Spotify and... I couldn’t help but feel that it fits IkeSen’s MC situation uncannily. I’ll admit that I shed a tear.

His coaxing whisper next to my ear sent a jolt through me. 

Just by Mitsuhide-san speaking next to my ear, I reacted strongly.

Mitsuhide : “Even if you react like that, in this situation I literally can’t raise a finger to do anything about it, you know.”

Mitsuhide-san laughed softly, and brought his lips to my ear.

Mitsuhide : “Well then... What would you like me to do?”

His low words mixed with a sigh made my heart ache sweetly.

MC : “Hey...! Don’t... It’s ticklish, okay?”

Mitsuhide : “Only ticklish?”

Mitsuhide : “Even though it seems that you’re blushing so hard I can see it even in this dim light?”

His voice that he poured into my ear vibrated against my eardrum, and my heartbeat sped up even more.

Voiced scenario by Kenshin and Sasuke! Basically silly stuff, but adorable as heck! The setting is that Sasuke and Kenshin timeslipped to the present, and are at an amusement park.

Sasuke : “Sasuke’s room, anniversary festival edition. Not wanting to be apart, summer. Love will start, even if the Ferris wheel reaches its goal. We will begin.”

[Approaching footsteps]

Kenshin : “Who are you speaking to, Sasuke?”

Sasuke : “Kenshin-sama, you’re not supposed to ask that.”

Kenshin : “I never made such a promise. To begin with, what is with this place? It’s unduly crowded with people.”

Sasuke : I’m glad you asked. This is an amusement park, a kind of leisure facility.”

Kenshin : “Leisure... What is that?”

Sasuke : “It refers to a place where you come to play at on your days off.”

Kenshin : “Play, you say? Hmph. I’ve understood that it’s a frivolous place. We’re going back.”

Sasuke : “Ah, please wait, Kenshin-sama. I’ve received notice that she will be joining us later.”

Kenshin : “What? That woman will be coming here as well?”

Sasuke : “Yes. It seems that she timeslipped to the present during her summer holiday.”

Sasuke, high pitched : “It’s been a long while since I visited the amusement park! I’m looking forward to it! Teehee!”

Sasuke : “... That was what she said.”

Kenshin : “ ‘Teehee’... Well, say that sooner. It can’t be helped, I’ll stay here just a while longer.”

Sasuke : “Is something wrong?”

Kenshin : “There was hair stuck to the door handle. This place is horribly maintained. Where are the servants?”

Sasuke : “Kenshin-sama, it’s not the job of servants to clean a haunted mansion. Also, when you see hair like that, please react with a ‘kyaaa’”.

Kenshin : “There’s no way I would make such a sound merely by seeing some hair, is there?”

Sasuke : “Well... I am not really scared of ghosts either, but... Ah, Kenshin-sama! There’s a bloodied warrior ghost walking towards us!”

Kenshin : “Is that thing in its hands a katana!?” *chuckle* “It has guts, appearing in front of me.”

[Metallic hiss]

Kenshin : “Let us figh-”

Sasuke: “STAY, Kenshin-sama, stay! Stopping, waiting... The one who has guts is Kenshin-sama, please throw away the idea of killing the ghosts in a haunted house.”

Kenshin : “And why? He’s bearing a katana and coming towards us, is he not? He should just get over here quickly, what is he dragging his feet for!?”

Sasuke : “Uhm, Kenshin-sama, please listen. That ghost is only a part-timer, he’s just here to earn some money to spend while on his summer holidays. There’s no way he even thinks his life is going to be stolen.”

Kenshin : “Hmph. As long as he was born a warrior, he can’t avoid battling. I will go and beat that rotten spirit into shape--”

Sasuke : “Like I told you, he’s not a warrior. Besides, he’s a ghost, so the setting is that he is dead.”

Kenshin : “But he’s alive.”

Sasuke : “Agh, anyway, please interact with him as though he were dead.”

Kenshin : “How troublesome...!! Why would a place like this be considered fun?”

Sasuke : “Nn, if it weren’t for our fearlessness, we would probably be having more fun. It’s supposed to be a place where our hearts would pound anxiously, really!”

Kenshin : “My heart doesn’t dance at all. The tension on the battlefield is far greater.”

Sasuke : “Ahh, Kenshin-sama. The warrior ghost is coming closer. Are you ready? When he reaches us, please say ‘kyaa’.”

Sasuke : “Kenshin-sama! If her boyfriend goes through a haunted house with a sullen face, I’m sure that even she won’t enjoy it. Think of it as practice and do it, okay?”

Kenshin : “... That woman would be pleased if I screamed? That’s hard to believe.”

Sasuke : “Yes, it’s important to assert yourself. Hah, he’s here. Kenshin-sama, here we go. One, two.”

Kenshin & Sasuke : “Kyaaaa-”

[Scene changes]

Sasuke : “It’s getting late, isn’t it. How did you find the merry-go-round we rode on earlier?”

Kenshin : “It wasn’t bad... But, it can’t compare to a battlefield just by going around the same place in circles.”

Sasuke : “Kenshin-sama, I believe it’s a bad habit to compare everything to the battlefield. A merry-go-round is packed with the dreams of children.”

Kenshin : “That’s enough of the topic of horses. Is that woman not here yet?”

Sasuke : “I think she should reach soon. Let’s get something to drink while we wait.”

Kenshin : “... Sasuke.”

Sasuke : “Yes?”

Kenshin : “We’re riding on that vehicle that just passed in front of us.”

Sasuke : “... Please feel free to go ahead. Kenshin-sama, please go ahead and ride the Jet Coaster on your own. I’ll be over in the nearby ninja house practising my ninja ski-”

Kenshin : “That is unnecessary. Your ninja skills are already acknowledged by me, we’re going.”

Sasuke : “I ABSOLUTELY do not want to. If you intend to force me, I will resign as Kenshin-sama’s subordinate right now!”

Kenshin : “What?”

Sasuke : “Power harassment... Bad... Absolutely.”

Kenshin : “Power...? If you have the time to spout nonsensical words like that, we can hurry up and go ride the Jet Star.”

Sasuke : “No no, it’s the ‘Jet Coaster’.” *sighs* “... Since when did you become such a cold person, Kenshin-sama? Before, towards me, you were more-”

Kenshin : “Enough of the tedious talk, come!”

Sasuke : “Aah, at the very least...”

Sasuke, deeper voice : “Come here...”

Sasuke : “I wanted you to say it with a gentle tone like that.”

Kenshin : “What are you muttering and chanting for?”

Sasuke : “Please don’t speak to me right now, I’m trying desperately to calm myself by reciting the prime numbers sequence. Seventeen, nineteen, twenty-three, twenty-nine...”

Kenshin : “You should know when to give up, Sasuke. Just a little more and we’ll be heading into a dive. Grit your teeth and get ready for it.”

Sasuke : “You’re even more sadistic than usual, Kenshin-sama. Are you holding a grudge because I said earlier that I would resign as your subordinate?”

Kenshin : “... Ahh, indeed I am.”

Sasuke : “...”

Sasuke : “Ahh, you really are, aren’t you. ... It can’t be helped. Since unfortunately I’m already riding this, I will steel my resolve.”

*Sasuke takes off his glasses*

Kenshin : “Why did you take off your glasses?”

Sasuke : “Because if they fly off, it’ll be a matter of life and death for me.”

Kenshin : *snickers* “Such a cheap life. We are just about at the peak... The view is magnificent.”

Sasuke : “Aahhhh, this is hopeless. I can’t see anything but a shaky future...!”

Kenshin : “... Find something to talk about. It’ll take your mind off it.”

Sasuke, whispering : “We come this far, and NOW he’s unexpectedly being dere!? 

Kenshin : “Did you say something?”

Sasuke : “No, I didn’t. Let’s see, something to talk about...Ah, Kenshin-sama. There’s a jinx that if you shout the name of what you desire as you dive on the Jet Coaster, you will obtain it.”

Kenshin : “Jinx...?”

Sasuke : “It’s something like a lucky charm.”

Kenshin : “I see. I should shout just as we are diving?”

Sasuke : “Yes.”

Kenshin : “You should shout, too.” *chuckle* “We are at the peak, here we go. Sasuke!”

Sasuke : “Y, y, yes!!”

Kenshin : “PICKLED PLUMSSSSSSSS!!!”

Sasuke : “CALTROPSSSSSSS!!!...”

[Scene change, staggering footsteps]

Sasuke : “Ugggghhh...”

Sasuke : “I... can’t go on... I only have about one more hitpoint left...”

Kenshin : “What is a hitpoint?”

Sasuke : “Um, it means my life-flame is about to go out. In other words, I’m on the verge of dying. I’ve always had a bad sense of balance, and I get motion-sickness easily.”

Kenshin : “Don’t say such pathetic things.”

Sasuke : “It’s my body’s constitution, so it can’t be helped, can it? Oh, while we were riding on the Jet Coaster, it’s coming to the agreed time to meet her.”

Kenshin : “I see. We can’t keep her wait-” *blooper* 

Sasuke : “Is something wrong?”

Kenshin : “Nothing at all.”

Kenshin : “I see. We can’t keep her waiting alone. Hurry up, Sasuke, we’re going to go meet her.”

Sasuke : “Yes, Kenshin-sama. She mentioned she wants to ride the Ferris wheel.”

Kenshin : “Ferris wheel...? The oversized watermill you were talking about earlier?”

Sasuke : “Yes. It seems that if two people kiss at the very top of the wheel, they will become lovers who will never be apart for all eternity.”
