We are only two weeks away from the beginning of Bagginshield Week 2024, fellow shippers!

So, in the meantime, short little guide and reminders:

The event consists of seven regular days with two prompts for each, plus two extra days to post to the AO3 collection, and two Alternate Prompts lists.

I will post the direct link to the AO3 collection the following Monday from this (June 17th).

All types of fanworks focused on Bagginshield are allowed, not just fanfiction and fanart, and there are no official minimums for any of them, but if you want recommendations you can find some here.

Likewise, and as I did last year, I will accept works that are more tangentially related to them. For example, last year I accepted a mood board on the prompt "Piercings & Tatoos" that explored it more in a general relation to the dwarves that appear in the films.

Because the event (and myself) are in Tumblr and AO3, the work must be posted to either or at the very least promoted in either for me to share it here. More information about posting will be given on the 17th.

okay so I’m rereading the hobbit and I want to make a list of my favorite quotes and parts so here we go:

“bilbo (…) got something a bit queer in his make-up from the took side” I chuckled

“mr. baggins was very fond of flowers” of course he was he’s a blorbo

“it was a beautiful golden harp, and when thorin struck it the music began all at once, so sudden and sweet that bilbo forgot everything else” bombastic side eye

I wish I was good at mood boards, I would constantly be making girldad!Bi-Han ones. Or good husband Bi-Han mood boards, cause he might be a dick but I’m still convinced he’s a good husband/father. Have I mentioned Bi-Han wears tutus in addition to his tiara? He definitely does. He also has an entire hanfu collection just for tea party time, he’s never sure if his daughter wants him to be a princess like her or a prince/knight so he’s prepared either way. Usually Kuai Liang is the only one who doesn’t have to dress like a princess, he’s usually the royal sorcerer/magician, yes Bingbing has seen The Last Unicorn too many times just like her mother has and might be hung up on her uncle being Schmendrick the Magician.

Tea time is usually when lunch would be so usually Bi-Han doesn’t miss out on his Grandmaster duties, not that he would mind, his little girl comes first. It’s not an everyday occurrence, maybe once or twice a week, not that Bi-Han wouldn’t rearrange things to do it everyday if Bingbing asked but she’s knows her papa’s very busy so most of the time she plays with me and her brothers when they get home from school. Though her brothers are usually very busy with Lin Kuei training when they get home from school so Bingbing usually watches them and tries to mimic them, she’s almost old enough to start training herself.

I know I talk a lot about Bi-Han playing with Bingbing but that's not to say he didn't/doesn't play with his sons too. The boys love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings so they'd often act out scenes with their Dad and Uncles. Kuai Liang had to be Smaug since they both breathe fire, Tomas is Bilbo, my twins are Fili and Kili and my youngest boy Shixue loves playing Gandalf leaving Bi-Han as Thorin. Nowadays though it's much more common for them all to play soccer together, all of my boys are on the school team. Bi-Han is not particularly great at soccer since he didn't have the luxury of playing it growing up, but he does his best and he's getting better with help from the boys.

TL:DR Bi-Han is a really good, hands on Father and I wanna make moodboards about it but I suck. lol

CHAPTER 4

CHARACTER UPDATES

HOLLOW COVE

WOLF CROSS: Joining as many searches as possible while also trying to keep morale up and things running smoothly with his pack, i.e people's moods primarily. Wolf will be scatterbrained and probably very different to how people have seen him, perhaps resembling how he was when Josie was killed. Lots of angst to be had. Is for the revision of the 3 day grace period, and not pulling his weight that much around the town like he has previously. There will be some strain between Jones and Crosses at this time as Jackson and Wolf will clash with things to do with Jack and Sophia.

BEAU SULLIVAN: He's had a revamp! Is still somewhat similar to bitchboy!Beau but is back to his og roots now and is more of a rounded personality. He'll be going on searches for Teddy and Sophia. Is for the revision of the 3 day grace period. Has a few opinions about what happened with Jack that previously he kept quiet but is making them known now that he didn't agree with how it was handled. Lots of angst to be had if he's on a search with Crosses?

CARLO RAMOS: Will be doing whatever he can to look for missing Cross members but Carlo remains focused on searches for Cece and Amaris. He's a genuinely quiet person around people he isn't comfortable with still, so would be good to see him teamed up or doing something out of his comfort zone. For the revision of the 3 day grace period but he isn't about to get political, so he isn't vocal about it. Possible angst if he's got a lead on something to do with Amaris and Cece but is told to hang onto it and wait, and possible doesn't.

CALEB GRIFFIN: Will be primarily focused on searches for Kenzie and Alana and Kel at this time, and generally any Vaisman wolf. He's an easy going personality so he can be teamed up with anybody. He's probably busy around the town too. Doesn't think the 3 day grace period is a bad idea, is considerate of resources and manpower that could be wasted if it's any shorter.

EVERETT JONES: Is pretty much family focused always, and is more worried about Hazel and Bodie at this time than anything else due to Maren's return. He is also, obviously, worried and focused on finding Teddy and even, possibly, the Crosses. Which would be good development for him lol. Is against the revision of the 3 day grace period, and has plenty of reasons as to why but settles that it should be 2 instead.

BENJAMIN WALTON: Is more worried about what's happening with the Belcourt coven. Diplomatic as ever and is for the revision of the 3 day grace period. He's working frequently through the town and is easy going so any thread works for him. Is probably a little bit distracted because he's concerned about the situation with Felix.

THUNDER RIVER

THORIN JANSEN: Will be part of the escape so everything is pretty plot specific for him. Obviously hilarious if he has threads with non-Visser wolves. Chaos always? So, anything goes. But ultimately he will work hard to aid the escape plan.

STORR ALFFSON aka STOLL: Pretty much the same as Thorin minus Chaos. Storr is a great person to get on board the escape plan, he's very practical and steadfast. But anything goes for him too.

BRENDAN MURPHY: A little less chaotic than Thorin but more chaotic than Storr. Will be a team player for the escape, and helpful too as he's resourceful. Could do something that he's already got a hoard of supplies that are useful and trying to convince him to hand it over

Oh ... wow ... your Durin Vampire Boards are just ... wow ... so SO evocative and such A Mood and so ... so... FEELINGFUL! I cant express it , I'm just letting the vibes flow all over me, dark and deep with little flashes of light in-between ... And YOUR PLAYLIST!!! Can't even talk anymore ...except to maybe say looking forward to your tasty art. Someone a long time ago did art of Fili Kili and Thorin as Vampires but said they just came out looking like French Royalty or so; still good tho!

Summary:  Myria is a bastard from Storm’s End that has fled for a better life. She lived as a sellsword until the Queen of Thorns, Olenna Tyrell, takes her in to be her personal guard. She travels with Olenna to Dorne where they find out the Dragon Queen, Daenerys Stormborn, is returning to Westeros. Amidst all the chaos Myria eventually meets Dany’s right-hand man, Jorah Mormont, and the two seem to grow close. But when the Targaryen brings war with her - first to the North and then to King’s Landing - Myria must decide where her loyalties lie. To the Realm or her heart.

Chapter 5 to debut - Thorin x Ladien Peredhel (Ladi), Thranduil x Ladi

Summary: Ladien is a half-Elf that became a wanderer when she is unable to fit in her home at the Grey Havens. She’s resting at Rivendell when the Company shows up. Thorin is mistrustful of Elves because of what happened years ago at Erebor, but Gandalf insists on having Ladi join. Just as Thorin begins to warm up to the Peredhel, they are taken captive in Mirkwood. Thranduil here’s that an Elf is traveling with the Dwarves and demands to meet her. And when they do, he is taken aback as she looks almost identical to the wife he lost.

Timeless Warrior:

Chapter 20 to debut - Lord Elrond x Phoenix Garcia

Summary:  Phoenix is a person from our world whose country dissolves into civil war. To even out the playing field, her small group of rebels transform an old 747 into a mechanical dragon - whom only she is crazy enough to fly. After three long years, the war ends with her side winning but costing her much. Including her spouse. As she flies over the country to survey the damage, her dragon mysteriously plummets. She is able to prevent the crash, but travels through a portal in the process. Now stuck in a different - supposedly fictional world - Phoenix must find her way back home. Or decide if this world will have everything she needs to heal from her pain. Including a new love.

Peredhel:

Chapter 4 to debut - Erestor Peredhel x Samantha Johnson

Summary: Sam is a modern world woman that finds herself in Middle Earth with no way home. So she makes the best of her situation and becomes a cook for Rohan before traveling around Middle Earth for a few years to learn more about the food. She returns to Rohan days before a farewell party is being held for Lord Elrond before he parts for Valinor, where she meets Erestor. Who has been debating his own fate.

Prodigy Child:
