Them Crushing on their Opponent's S/O
Characters: Beelzebub, Apollo, Thor, and Poseidon Inspired By: Idk... random thought I guess? A/N: Apologies for not posting anything in a while, I have been trying to get everything set up for the next few days (I have a dog-sitting job lined up here soon and school starting has been making it a little more stressful) but I do hope this was worth the wait for you guys! ⚠️ Spoilers/Trigger Warnings for: Swearing, mentions of fighting, world-wide destruction, mass death (implied), and implied wish to kill another, attempting homewrecker Apollo + implied yandere behavior on each (not bad on Beel and Thor's, worse on Apollo, and horrible on Poseidon's) ⚠️

╚═════ Beelzebub ═════════════════════════════╝
🪰 Beelzebub was not excited for his fight. He just wanted to get this over with as fast as possible so he could get back to doing his own things
🪰 He watched as Nikola stepped out and into the ring, and he noticed how the human looked back at the other inventors. But he was looking at someone specific, at a human that stood alongside the Valkyrie sisters above
🪰 You smiled gently and waved at your husband, your short-sleeved dress moving alongside your shoulders while the rest of your dress accented your frame in amazing ways, much to the amazement of some deities and humans, and in most to the amazement of the two fighters below
"Kick his ass, Nik'!" You yelled.
🪰 Nikola chuckled as you cheered, the youngest sister jumping alongside you. You were such a flamboyant woman back during your lives, and it was hard getting used to life without you when you passed, and it was amazing when you both joined hands again
🪰 Beelzebub saw how much you adored your husband and just scoffed, trying to push the odd feeling of butterflies in his stomach away with the flush on his face
🪰 When this fight ended with a God's victory, the Lord of the Flies needed to find a way to speak to you...

╚═════ Apollo ════════════════════════════════╝
☀️ Leonidas was ready for his fight, after all, he was going against the man he blamed for the deaths of not only his and his men's lives, but the death of his wife via the domino affect
☀️ You were so saddened when he passed that after your son, Pleistarchus, finally aged up and began his rule, you decided to finally end your life, much to your people's despair
☀️ As your husband looked back at you, you smiled and hugged him, wishing him luck. You the heard an eruption of applause, making you look up while Leonidas scowled silently
☀️ Standing before you both was a youthful-looking god, specifically Apollo, the Greek God of the Sun and Music. Much like the others close to Leonidas, you knew how much he despised this guy and how much he blamed him for the deaths of his men, himself, and in result you
☀️ The God of the Sun looked around and winked at his nymphs in the audience, which caused you to roll your eyes and kiss your husband's arm before leaving him to enter his fight
☀️ It was when you finally made it up to where Brunhilde and Göll were that the fight was about to begin. You could see that the two males were speaking, or rather Apollo was speaking to the King of Sparta standing before him
"You know I always wondered what my opponent looked like, wondered if you truly were just a brute, but..." He looked in your direction, causing you to flinch slightly.
☀️ Apollo smirked as your long blue sleeved moved and how your traditional Greek dress hugged you. It accentuated your chest perfectly and allowed your perfect skin to shimmer in the light that Apollo controlled. Not that man you called yours
"I must admit, you found the most gorgeous ray of life I have ever seen. And I'm a well-sought-after god."
"Shut your fucking trap and fight me like the powerful man you claim to be." Leonidas said, readying his weapon.
"Simmer down there, Leonidas! I meant nothing offensive towards your beautiful wife up there." He said as he winked at you, much to everyone's annoyances. "I just merely wanted to commend you on your taste. Maybe after my victory I can take that flower out for a walk? Yes, that sound delightful."
"Kick that motherfucker in the balls for me, honey!" You screamed.
"Planning on it."
"Well then, I guess we can begin our fight. Now... let's dance, your majesty."

╚═════ Thor ═════════════════════════════════╝
🌩️ Lu Bu was against leaving you alone in this afterlife. He died in front of you long ago and he didn't plan on doing it again. And if you had any say in what Brunhilde decided for this fight, you would've made he pick another warlord
🌩️ But, fate was cruel and it always landed you both in extremely tight spaces. It cursed you with the arranged marriage to a man you despised while Lu Bu's gave him the strength nobody else could match, leaving him alone for many years
🌩️ Thankfully, your fiance was stupid enough to get himself crossing paths with the rough-man, landing him six-feet-under. It was only after that day that you finally found the man you loved, to which you married and, while not having any biological children, you treated all of your shared subordinates with the love of a mother
🌩️ As the fight began, you shivered. Raising your hands, you gripped your upper sleeves, causing Chen Gong to look at you and wrap an arm around your shoulder, attempting to comfort you while your husband readied himself against the notorious God of Thunder
"Human. Why do you intend to beat me?" Thor asked.
"My wife and soldiers have faith in me, though I don't expect an arrogant monster such as a god to understand that. So why bother?"
🌩️ Thor cocked an eyebrow slightly as he looked over at the many soldiers that Lu Bu led, he gazed over them all before settling on you. You were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes upon in eons
🌩️ You looked at Lu Bu with worry and determination in your eyes. It almost made Thor... jealous. But why would he, an all-powerful being such as himself, be jealous of some mortal's luck with picking a spouse?
🌩️ Eventually you felt Thor's gaze on you, making you stare into his yellow-colored irises. He blinked as you shifted slightly in your hanfu, which only made Chen wrap his arm tighter around you, determined to keep you at-bay
🌩️ Thor looked back at your husband before sighing and starting the walk that would mark the start of Ragnarok. He glanced back at you, only to see you focused, watching Lu Bu with both love and hope despite your furrowed eyebrows
🌩️ And while they began their fight, there was one thing plaguing Thor's thoughts; why did he wish for you to look at him in that way?

╚═════ Poseidon ══════════════════════════════╝
🔱 As a god of few words and one that showed far to much pride for even his own brothers to handle, Poseidon was the opposite of your husband. And you hated that
🔱 Your husband was none other than Sasaki Kojiro, History's Greatest Loser. And as you were close to a couple immortals such as Buddha and Brunhilde, you knew just how dangerous the God of the Seas could be. And it made you concerned for your husband's outcome in this battle
🔱 Sasaki looked back at you as he raised his now-broken sword, and he could tell by the subtle look that you were beyond pissed. And that was the thing he loved most about you, your fieriness
"Why you arrogant bastard! How much of a fucking asshole do you have to be to not even blink an eye at killing such a magnificent man?! Why if I was down there, I'd smack the ever-loving shit out of you!"
🔱 Poseidon was internally shook at hearing a mortal woman yell at him. Every time any human tried voicing their opinions to him, his mere glace would shut them up. But not this human. This one was different
🔱 Looking up slightly, he saw you standing with the other supporters of your husband. One of the males, Musashi Miyamoto, was holding one of your arms to keep you from jumping down and attacking the god with your bare hands while his son, Iori, was watching in shock at how strong you were
🔱 The one thing that Poseidon noticed other than your attitude was how you moved. You moved so delicately and swiftly despite your fury, and it was, dare he think, alluring. It was almost like you were an embodiment of the silkiness of a piece of the softest fabric ever
🔱 You raised your fist and slammed it on the nearby seat, causing Iori to jump and your elderly-appearing husband to chuckle. Poseidon merely watched stoically as you screamed once again
"You win this match and show Humanity just how amazing your old-ass is, Kojiro!"
"Alright, sweetheart. I understand what I must do." He replied, a chill-smile on his face while yours portrayed pure hatred towards his opponent.
🔱 The God of the Seas then saw you lower your fist back down as Musashi had his son wrap it up, as it was bleeding from the impact of cement and your fragile-hand. He saw your hanfu, it looked very blue, like the seas he ruled over for centuries
🔱 After this fight was over with his winning and a step closer to the destruction of those pesky worms down on Earth, Poseidon was going to need to pay you a visit. Maybe said visit will lead to something else? But, for now, getting rid of this hunk of waste was the first step to said future

The Princess (and the chaos she brings with her) - steve rogers x fem!reader (1/?)
Summary: when Thor asked the avengers to guard a dear friend of his, they didn't think twice before saying yes. What they didn't know was that said friend is the princess of one of the nine realms, and a lost love of one Captain Rogers.
Part 1 // I thought you were dead // word count: 3.5k
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n), you have to eject, right now!" Steve screamed over the torrents of wind whistling through the ship. Schmidt was dead, gone. So was the tesseract. But it wasn't over yet. "I have to put her in the water!"
The girl behind him widened her eyes, battling against the elements to reach him. "There's no world in which I let you do that, Captain!"
"I'm not asking for permission!"
"Well then, I guess we go down together!" She painstakingly made her way to him, every step a feat of strength. Her previously neatly pinned curls no longer even resembled what they once were as her hair whipped around her face.
As Steve turned to face her, she somehow still looked angelic. He felt that right now, she was more heavenly than ever. He couldn't let her die with him.
"Buckle in." He commanded, as they began their quick descent. He looked at her, the first woman who had ever made him feel seen, the only person he had ever met who was as crazy as he was.
As the ice flew closer, he turned and placed a hand tenderly on her face. Tears welled in his eyes as his mind wandered to the future they could've had. God, they could have been amazing.
"I'm sorry, (y/n)." He whispered. She could only just hear it, even though they were right next to each other.
He pulled the yellow ejection lever on the seat she had just buckled herself into, watching as her eyes widened. "No! Steve, no!" She lifted her hands to stop him, to jam the lever, anything to stay with him. She wasn't quick enough.
Steve closed his eyes as her seat was ejected, hearing her scream his name. There was no world where he allowed her to go down with him, and he trusted that wherever she ended up, Stark and Peggy would find her. He hoped they would be able to find him, too.
He hadn't prayed in a long time, but as he went down, he bargained with God for her safety.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is my honour to introduce the new and improved Captain America and the Howling Commandos exhibit, in honour of the 100th birthday of Captain Steven Grant Rogers." The crowd clapped as the senator stepped off the podium, motioning for Steve to take the mic. Bucky and Sam laughed at how uncomfortable the Captain was as he stood thanking everyone for an exhibit he never wanted. All part of the job, he supposed.
After the handshakes, and the photo ops, and the autographs and the meet and greets, the boys finally got relative peace to wander around the new exhibition.
"I can't believe you used to wear these stupid suits." Sam laughed, standing in front of the main exhibit. Bucky sighed, budging Sam's shoulder. "Says the asshole who wears a bird suit to fight." He retorts.
Steve laughed at his friends antics, but walked away when he noticed an addition to the exhibit he hadn't seen before. He stared, wide eyed at the name in front of him.
(Y/N): THE MISSING HERO?
Steve found himself drinking in every inch of the gorgeous photo underneath the text, her bright smile and barely visible freckles. The lighting highlighted the different hues in her immaculately pinned hair. She looked just like an angel, as she always did in real life.
Steve looked down, forlorn eyes investigating very few artefacts in the glass exhibit. Her folded uniform, found in her room after the plane went down. The blush lipstick you wore every day. Finally, an object that Steve didn't recognise. A golden ring, encrusted in unidentified jewels and a family crest no one knew. He frowned.
He had known her only a short few months, but he regretted never asking about her family. And now, it would haunt him that he never did until his last breath.
"They never found her, huh?" Bucky placed his covered hand on Steve's shoulder, a sadness tinged in his voice. He had only met (y/n) briefly, but he knew even then that Steve's heart rested in the palm of that woman's hand.
He had asked about her, once, but the look on Steve's face when her name was mentioned told him everything he needed to know.
"No. Howard searched for years, found nothing. Turned out that she had lied on her intake forms for the SSR, too. We don't even know if (y/n) was really her name." He took a beat. "We have no idea if she survived or not."
Steve didn't have to make the subtext clear, Bucky knew he worried that he had killed her by ejecting her from that plane. Bucky also knew there was no sense in trying to tell him she would have died either way, that the ice would've killed her.
"You okay?" Bucky asked, after another few moments of silence.
Steve nodded, looking at the photo. "I'm glad she's remembered. I just wish I didn't have so many unanswered questions."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So," Tony started. "Thor is arriving with the guest of honour later today, who we have agreed to protect here for the meantime. We don't have a lot of background for this one. The dark elves are the ones we're protecting her against, but Thor said threat could come from many areas. Do we have any questions?"
The team looked nothing short of bored. Well, most of them. Cap always had the good grace to sit up and look interested. Scott was straight up asleep.
"Is she important? How long will she be staying with us?" Steve asked.
"No idea, and uh, no idea. Anything else?"
"Is she single?" Sam asked, earning a laugh from some of the others. Steve shook his head disapprovingly, but smiled at his friend's levity.
As Steve stood up to go back to training, FRIDAY sounded around the room. "Excuse me everyone, my satellites have detected a bifrost signal heading for the compound imminently."
"Speak of the devil!" Tony clapped his hands as everyone headed out to the bifrost landing site (something that had been instituted after Tony's lawn got scorched one too many times).
Bucky smacked Scott upside the head to wake him up with a jolt. "Oh, where are you guys going?" He called behind them, jogging to catch up. Steve waited behind from him, laughing at his groggy friend.
A bright light connected with the grass just beside the landing site. Tony's hands covered his eyes as he mouthed are you fucking kidding me. When the light cleared, Thor stood tall in his usual armour.
"My friends!" His voice boomed, "I present to you, my fellow avengers, the honourable princess of Alfheim, jewel of the Alfar and ambassador to Asgard." Thor's voice boomed through the halls of the compound. "This is my friend, (y/n)."
Beside Thor stood a girl. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with a heavenly stature. She looked like she could have been carved from marble by the hands of God himself.
A light Asgardian pink dress was covered by a golden chest-plate which fit her body like it had been moulded just for her. It was covered in intricate etchings of suns and stars, which caught the light and shone brilliantly. She wore golden jewellery, which was nothing like the avengers had ever seen. Golden ear cuffs covered her pointed ears, with her long hair pulled into an up-do, emphasising the golden, bejewelled tiara on her head.
"Princess?" Sam squeaked. Wanda smacked him, with a look that screamed don't embarrass us.
Tony tilted his head in confusion at the guest, who he could almost swear he recognised from somewhere. "Thor, you did not inform us that we were looking after the ruler of a planet. We would have been more prepared."
"I am not ruler yet, Mr. Stark." The girl cast her eyes up at Tony, as she smiled sweetly. Her voice was honey smooth, and anyone who heard it felt themselves being charmed by it. "I have heard much about you all from Thor."
"Should we bow?" Bruce whispered to Tony, who shrugged his shoulders. Thankfully, (y/n) took the lead and shook each of their hands.
She looked around at each of the gathered avengers. Thor made his introductions to the rest of the group. "Where are the others?" Thor enquired.
"Here!" Steve smiled at the site of his old friend, his view of the princess obscured by the large man. Bucky and Scott tagged behind him, also happily greeting Thor.
"Captain, it is very good to see you. Please, let me introduce you to the Princess (y/n)." Thor stepped aside to introduce them, but his eyebrows knitted together in confusion when neither of them moved, almost frozen in place.
"Uh... hi." Scott side-stepped the Captain and caught the eye of their guest. "My name's Scott Lang."
The girl tore her eyes away from the captain, unsure really on what to do. But her training kicked in, knowing that being rude was one of the worst sins a princess could commit. "Hello, Mr. Lang. I am (y/n)."
"Holy shit." Bucky breathed out.
The rest of the avengers watched the rather silent exchange with confusion. It was very unlike Steve to get so tongue-tied, and he would never be so rude as to not introduce himself.
"Captain Rogers..." The girl spoke first, confusing them further. "I believed you dead." Tears had welled in her eyes, intriguing the observing crowd even more.
"I thought you were dead." He breathed. "What... what is going on?"
Bucky interjected. "Um, hi. I'm Bucky, we met briefly in '45."
She smiled softly at him, but her eyes betrayed her confusion. "Sergeant Barnes, of course! Didn't you... also die?"
"Yeah, we've all got a lot of explaining to do." Bucky laughed as the absurdity of the situation caught up to him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thor's eyes darted between his friend and the captain. When Thor asked the avengers to guard her from the war on Alfheim, he knew some hijinks would ensue. This is not what he expected. He knew you had spent some time on Midgard before and when you returned you were emotionally distraught. He had simply figured the war you had fought with the Midgardians had taken it's toll.
He eyed both the Captain and you, suspiciously. You were his dear friend, but you had never talked to him about any mortal love.
"So, Princess. You've been here before." Tony enquired.
The Princess licked her lips nervously, glancing at Steve, who had barely moved a muscle, his eyebrows furrowed. "Yes, Mr. Stark. I spent some time here during the second world war. I left Midgard when Johann Schmidt was defeated, and haven't returned since."
"Tell us about your world, Princess. I've never heard of it before." Natasha, the red-head in the corner, asked the guest.
"You have heard of it before." The princess smiled, explaining. "I believe we are now known as a fantasy character here - you call us elves." She pointed to her pointed ears as each avenger clung to her words.
Thor smiled at his Midgardian friends' curiosity.
"The Alfar still live amongst you, they are simply unseen. I believe you may know Tolkien?" At the mention of the author's name, everyone's ears pricked. "He was one of my father's greatest friends and many of his book settings were inspired by Alfheim."
"What!" Scott exclaimed. "That's insane."
"Really, Ant Man?" Bucky responded, pointing out that they were all ridiculous, when you thought about it. The world was crazy now.
The princess chuckled, and rose from her seat at the conference table. "Thank you very much for your hospitality, Avengers. I would quite like to rest in my chambers, if you would be so gracious to allow me."
"Um, yeah... consider yourself allowed." Tony stumbled over his words. Very unusual for him, and it did not go unnoticed by the others. "Dinner is at seven."
"Thank you, Mr. Stark. Captain Rogers," She addressed the Captain, who looked up quickly. His face was pale, and he nervously twiddled his thumbs. "Would you be so kind as to show me my rooms?"
He popped up, almost comedically fast. "Yes. Yeah, sure. Um, this way." He walked out quickly, darting his eyes back to make sure the princess was following him.
She followed, gracefully. Her skirts fanned out behind her as she walked. The avengers in the room could scarcely take their eyes off her as she faded from sight.
As soon as the door closed behind them, the room devolved into chaos. People shouting theories and questions left, right and centre. Mostly, everyone was just bewildered. Bucky and Thor discussed how they had both known the couple separately, and whether each had talked about the other.
Natasha watched as Tony sat quietly on his tablet for a few seconds, searching for something she could only assume was relevant to the discussion at hand.
"Bucky, what's the deal there?" Clint asked.
He was interrupted by Tony. "Aha!" Stark called, silencing the room. "I knew I recognised her from somewhere."
He projected a photograph to the wall, and the avengers gasped.
The photograph consisted of Steve and Bucky front and centre. Bucky had his left arm wrapped lazily around Tony's dad, Howard. And Steve was looking directly at the girl next to him, holding her to him by the waist. It was the princess. The gaze he looked at her with... it was like nothing they had ever seen from him.
"They didn't just know each other, they were in love." Bucky replied to Clint's question, a hint of sadness underneath his words.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) followed Steve along the large corridors of the compound, her smaller legs working double time to match his long strides. They walked in silence, for the most part. It wasn't the comfortable kind.
"Captain." She spoke first, again. As she called for him, he stopped walking abruptly, turning slowly. He met her gaze and then cast his eye down.
"(y/n)... I mean, um, Princess." He responded.
"(y/n) is sufficient." She whispered, almost guiltily. "I can't believe you're alive..."
"I can't believe you're alive," He retorted. "I searched for you, when I woke up. They couldn't find any records of you other than your enlistment form, and they found you had lied. People think you're just a ghost story..."
He took a breath. "I can't believe you're here and... an alien princess?"
"I know it's hard to believe, I hope you understand why I couldn't tell you back then." She laughed. "When I found that you and Sergeant Barnes were dead, I couldn't face being here anymore... I returned to Alfheim."
As she thought back on it, a tear sprung to her eye. On seeing her reaction, Steve couldn't help himself but place a friendly hand on her back, rubbing soothing circles. She briefly froze at the contact, but quickly, she moved her own hand down his arm until she was holding onto his hand with both of hers.
So much went unsaid, but the contact confirmed what they had both most desperately wanted to know. Would it be the same?
"If I had known that you and Sergeant Barnes were alive, Captain..." She admitted. "I would have returned in an instant, I give you my word."
He smiled, rubbing a thumb over the back of her hand. A red blush hugged her cheeks as he did so.
It was typical of him that he couldn't concentrate on the moment, "Why are you here?" He asked. "What are we protecting you from?"
She sighed. "The Svartalfar, or the dark elves. You may know them - they attacked Thor in the Midgardian city of London some years ago now." He nodded in recognition.
"They are determined to conquer Alfheim, and have set their sights on my family. They have already managed to get close to killing me."
She pushed the collar of her dress down, showing a large, angry, red scar just above her collarbone. His hands flew up to trace the scar. She gulped at the close contact, her eyes meeting his.
His expression gave away his concern, knowing that Thor had suggested she was in a lot of danger. "Don't worry, Princess. You're safe here." He smiled, softly. "We'll protect you with everything we've got."
"Thank you, Captain."
"It's just Steve." He unhooked their hands, and gave her his arm. She linked her arm in his, and he resumed wandering down the halls to her rooms. "Do you have any bags?"
"No, I fled to Asgard with nothing when I needed healing. The Asgardians were kind enough to offer many gorgeous clothes for me to bring, but I figured they were a bit conspicuous."
Steve laughed, "Yeah, they might be."
They walked for a little while longer, before Steve entered a room to the side. It was rather basic compared to what she was used to, but it would more than suffice for the meantime.
"This is your room." He stood by the door as she entered. "I'm just down the hall if you need anything. I'll get Tony to send you some less conspicuous clothes. See you at dinner."
"Thank you, Steven." He laughed at her inability to be too informal with him. He nodded at her, and turned to walk down the hall to his room.
As he entered, the photograph of her from the Smithsonian caught his eye from the nightstand. He picked it up, tracing her features with his finger - unable to stop the smile spreading across his face. Who would've thought? Not only was his girl alive, she was also alien royalty. Sometimes, just sometimes, he adored his strange, strange world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sir," The agent walked into the dark room with purpose in her every step. "The Princess has been spotted."
The man in the chair looked up at the mention of his target. "Show me" he ordered. He watched as agent transferred the images on her tablet to the big screen, showing grainy, far away surveillance of the avengers compound.
As low quality as the image was, the woman arriving with Thor in the distinctive Alfar dress and armour was certainly the princess.
"Oh, my dear..." The man's deep voice dragged out. "You have walked right into our sights."

All I Wanted Was You
[Thor Odinson x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: Thor had always been there to protect you, save you, and love you… Until he couldn't.
WC: 3540
Category: Heavy Angst, Some hurt/comfort, mentions of Loki, Hela, and Heimdall {TW warning: Thanos and “evil squidward” — I know his name but I think Tony’s nickname is too iconic}
So I recently rewatched Infinity War, and of course watching Thor cry over losing literally everyone else he cares for in the first 15 minutes of the movie sparked my writer heart {finally} and after listening to Paramore we have this hot mess of angst (also why are all my Thor fics so angsty when he’s the definition of fluff?? I live for the drama I guess)
And just for the record, we don’t talk about the fact that I have thousands of requests and this isn’t even one of them 💀😭
『••✎••』
They say fear lies in the unknown. In the absence of facts and knowledge, the mind creates a world of illusions. If you believe your own fears, they become reality.
So what happens when the thing you fear the most is taken from you? When everything else falls to nothing? When the world is turned upside down?
You're left with a feeling that can only be described as the deepest pain imaginable.
You're left with nothing but your fear.
Your heart was racing so fast, and your breaths were short. You could feel every single muscle in your body tense up as the unnamed alien man dragged you further and further into the unknown.
The trip back to Earth, back to your sanctuary of a home, was nothing but a blur. After everything that had gone down within Asgard, including Asgard's destruction, all you could think about was your lover. Your other half.
Thor.
He was in pain, and not just physically. You had been separated due to his secretive, power-hungry sister, to where he’d left you alone with his kind-hearted people to find his father, only to disappear and leave you alone with the slaughtering of the Asgardians.
The people you’ve met that very day ended up slaughtered by Hela. Some took you by the hand, guiding and shielding you for protection against the God of Death and her henchmen. Others, you could tell, were more than just scared; they were terrified. The ones that were too slow or the ones that decided to fight back were killed within an instant.
You were no warrior. You were a simple, plain human who somehow caught the eye of the mighty Thor Odinson, and for some reason, he was in love with you.
So, while everyone else fought against Hela and her henchmen, you ran. Thor had left you there in assurance of your safety, thinking the search for his father with Loki, of all people, would be too risky for you, but in reality, you would have rather been with him. At least then, if you were to die, you could have been in the arms of the one you love.
Miraculously, you had survived the fall of Asgard and the escape from Surtur. You had no clue how. Maybe you were just lucky, or perhaps it was the grace of the Allfather. Even Heimdall, the man who saw everything, didn’t see you making it out alive.
But, when Thor had found you in the throne room cornered by some henchmen, it became a fact that Heimdall couldn’t see everything; after all.
The moment your eyes had met, the moment you heard the sound of metal against flesh, the moment his strong, powerful, protective arms wrapped around your fragile, vulnerable, weak form, and the moment his lips kissed the top of your head, you were safe.
Safe.
The only time you felt genuinely safe was when you were with Thor. His mere presence made you feel at ease. Like nothing could ever touch you or hurt you because he wouldn't let it.
He would protect you no matter the cost. He’d die for you, give his life for you, and go to the depths of Hell and back for you. He loved you, and that was something you could never understand.
Why would such a mighty god, a king, and a warrior want to love a simple human like yourself? A clumsy one at that.
You weren’t special in any way. You were ordinary.
But Thor, he was extraordinary.
The God of Thunder, a king and a warrior, a prince and a protector.
He was everything you were not.
It wasn't just the physical things that made him great, too, but the things that were inside.
Thor was a good man. A caring man. One who always thought about others and not himself.
Thor had his moments, yes, but no one is perfect. Not even a god. But the thing that made you love him, that made you want him, and the thing that made you feel safe was his heart.
That was the only part of him you could understand. The way he cared. The way he loved. The way he could make anyone smile. The way he could bring light to anyone's dark.
That's what makes a man a man. And that's why you loved him.
Even now, with one eye, a missing hammer, and a lost kingdom, he was still your everything.
And now you were reunited after being separated again. The only problem was the circumstances.
You and Thor had been in an intimate moment. The relief of having you back in his arms, the adrenaline pumping through your veins from surviving such a tragedy, had you both desperate.
He had pinned you against the wall, his hands brushing your hair away from your face to get a better look at you before he pressed his lips to yours in a soft kiss. He was always so gentle with you. The teasing and playful nips at your bottom lip were proof of that.
But the sudden sight of a ship out the large window you’d stared out of moments before the kiss broke your concentration.
Thor had pulled apart almost immediately, the feeling of his beard no longer tickling your face, but the heat of his breath and the sweet taste of his lips was still there.
It didn't take long before Thor was following your eyes, seeing for himself what had pulled you from him.
A sense of dread washed over you when you noticed how he tensed and his grip on your waist tightened. This wasn’t another Asgardian ship; no, this was something far more dangerous. You could tell by the look in Thor's eye, his non-missing eye.
Then, within seconds, he grabbed hold of your arm and yanked you out of the room. Your heart was pounding as you started yelling questions at him, trying to understand what was going on.
But, when he hit the button that sealed the room you were once in and shielded you within his arms, the panic started to set in.
That's when everything began to blur.
You remembered the sound of explosions. The tearing of metal. The screams. The smell of burning.
It all came crashing down.
Loki had come around the corner, and seeing his expression, it didn’t take much to realize what was going on.
If Loki, the God of Mischief and Lies, was terrified, then that meant something big was going down.
Thor was yelling orders, shouting commands. You could barely make out what he was saying, but you knew he was telling you to stay behind him.
Stay behind him.
Always stay behind him.
Then it changed to get the hell off the ship.
Then, to run.
Run.
Run.
Run.
The last thing you remember was looking back as you sprinted down the halls, seeing your love, your other half, the king, the prince, the protector, your Thor, fighting some creature with his bare hands.
His face was so determined. He wasn’t going down without a fight. You ran to where he had told you to go, the escape pods where Val was helping others into. You got there and saw her eyes. They were wide and full of worry.
Something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong.
The sound of an explosion brought you back to the present.
Val grabbed you by the wrist and dragged you toward a pod. You could feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins and, your heart was racing so fast, and your breaths were short.
All you could think about was Thor. Where was he? Was he alright?
No.
He was not.
As soon as you entered the pod and Val had closed you in it, it was suddenly torn apart. The supposed sliding door had been ripped from its hinges.
The metal that you rested your back upon started to give, and the feeling of moving forward caused your heart to leap.
You were launched out and onto the floor.
It took a second to gain your bearings. You looked up and saw Val. She was fighting, and you were thankful to see her, but it was a short-lived relief.
The… thing she was fighting, the blue alien, grabbed hold of her and flung her across the ship. She landed somewhere near a pod and didn't move. You remembered screaming for her, but she didn't budge.
That's when the creature turned his attention to you.
You tried to move, but the metal that was supposed to hold the pod in place had you pinned.
You tried to pry the metal from your skin, but your weak and vulnerable body couldn’t break the bond.
The alien slowly moved towards you and, in a swift movement, had ripped the metal away.
He was so close, and you had no idea what was going on, who he was, or what his intentions were.
When you felt his large, rough, and cold hand wrap around the back of your neck, panic started to set in. You wanted to kick and scream, but all you could do was stare at the beast before you.
And thus, you were dragged away from the evacuation site and thrown into a separate area. You came to the conclusion that whoever this was, it seemed to be a metal bender or something similar due to his abilities.
All you saw was a demented blue face with squid-like features, staring down at you as he threw you around like a rag doll.
The fifth time he threw you, you landed roughly on the floor, causing your shoulder to make a loud crack noise and the pain to shoot through your body. Your hands landed on something soft, softer than the floor, and when you looked down, you realized the blue thing had thrown you into a room full of corpses.
But it wasn’t just any corpses. The one you had specifically landed upon had been the body of the man you had recently become close friends with, Thor’s friend, Heimdall.
Tears immediately pooled in your eyes, and your breathing became ragged. You tried to sit up and pull your body off of Heimdall in respect, but the pain shooting through your arm and back kept you frozen in place.
The lifeless eyes of the man who saw everything were open, and for once, he was staring at nothing. It was a haunting image.
The tears were now falling, and a sob escaped your lips. You wanted to curl up into a ball and cry. You wanted to scream and shout. You wanted to fight and claw at the alien that took until it bled. But all you could do was lay there, unable to move and weep.
Then, a voice caught your attention. It was deep, and it was coming from the alien that had brought you to this place.
His eyes were no longer focused on you, but they were somewhere else. He was talking to someone.
“Boss,” it spoke, his voice deep and gravelly. You couldn’t bear to look at the being. Not when you were face to face with the lifeless body of the gatekeeper. “There’s a human woman here. A pathetic one, no doubt, but one nonetheless. Should we end her? Or leave her to rot like the others?"
A silence filled the air, and you had no idea what was going on, who he was speaking with, or who was giving him instructions. You could’ve looked. You could have glanced up at the thing, and seen for yourself, but you too were afraid.
Your eyes remained glued to the golden ones that were once filled with light and wisdom.
There was silence, and then a loud, deep, thump. It had startled you, but it wasn't anything like the explosion of the ship, no, it sounded more like a boot or a shoe had come in contact with metal. But, it was loud enough to grab your attention.
You didn’t move. Your eyes didn't stray.
But, your body trembled in fear.
Suddenly, you heard his voice, and it sounded more terrifying than any sound that had echoed in the air prior. It was even deeper, and even more frightening than the other.
“I think not. We have use of her."
He had a deep and gravelly voice, but it was smooth. Calm. Almost friendly.
Then, a large, purple foot, appeared in your vision, and slowly, the purple being leaned down and stared at you. His gaze was strong, and piercing. You wanted to look away, but you couldn’t. You were too terrified to move, speak, or breathe.
Again, it wasn’t human. It was an alien. And a big one, at that.
He had no hair, only a helmet. His skin was purple and he wore strange looking clothing, including a golden glove that had both a bright purple stone and a blue one.
You’ve never seen such a creature before. You thought those dark elves were terrifying, but they were nothing compared to this man.
And for some reason, he was looking at you like you were an ant, and he was the boot that would crush you.
In fact, he was looking at you with pity, and it confused the hell out of you.
But, when his hand moved, and his fingers had touched the soft strand of your hair, you couldn't help but flinch.
The moment his fingers made contact with you, though, you heard a loud grunt. One that didn’t sound alienated or distorted. It was clear, and you could tell who it was, instantly.
Your head shot up, ignoring the pain in your arm, and the moment your eyes met his, everything stopped.
Everything.
It was Thor.
Your Thor. Your everything.
He was in front of you the entire time, and you had no clue.
The tears were falling. They were falling hard and fast, and you couldn’t stop them. And for once, it wasn’t because of relief.
Thor was encased with metal. His arms and legs were pinned by it. He was bleeding from his head, and he was covered in bruises.
He looked like hell and gave off the same energy.
He was struggling to free himself. That’s what the sounds were. The grunts, the heavy breathing, and the loud thumping. He was trying to get out of his prison to get to you. To save you.
The alien was staring down at you. His eyes were dark and intimidating, but his presence was even more so. He was the embodiment of terror.
Then, without any warning, he grabbed you by the throat.
It was an unexpected move. He had picked you up by the neck with just one hand. He had a grip so tight you couldn't breathe, and the pressure on your throat was unbearable.
You could hear Thor screaming. Yelling.
You could barely hear what he was saying. Your ears were ringing, and the pain of the hand wrapped around your throat was all you could focus on.
But, you could see him. You could see him perfectly.
You saw his blue eye and the patch that covered the missing one. You saw the stubble along his chin. The slight scar that was just below the patch. The wrinkles on his forehead.
You could see it all.
And the look of desperation and horror. It broke you.
You couldn’t take it anymore. It was too much.
Then, in the blink of an eye, you felt release.
You fell to the floor and started gasping for air. It was like the moment the alien released his grip on you, everything began again. The world, your thoughts, the chaos.
It was all there, and you couldn’t keep up.
“I see it now.” You heard the voice of the alien say. Your vision was blurry, and your eyes were still stinging from the tears, but you could make him out if only a bit.
He was now standing, towering over you, but he wasn’t looking at you. No, he was looking at Thor; his eyes were focused on the god, which sent a chill down your spine.
When dealing with Hela, you find yourself recovering with confidence. She could’ve easily killed you with a snap of her finger, but when she demanded your name, you had spat in her face and gave a smile.
Even though Thor wasn’t there at that moment, you somehow knew he’d be coming back to put an end to her, and you would be safe. It was like a sixth sense that came and made you stop panicking and running.
And, even though he technically didn’t put her down, he still was your knight in shining armor. It was the same with the dark elves and even with Loki.
They were all terrifying, yes, but somehow, you knew that Thor would save the day.
Now, though, it was different. You weren’t scared or panicked; no, you were terrified.
The fact that Thor was trapped and was physically in pain, the fact that Heimdall and more innocent Asgardians were lying on the floor, dead, and the fact that Loki was missing and Val was knocked unconscious, it had all hit you at once.
You felt like you were suffocating, and it only worsened when the alien spoke again.
“I was questioning why a mortal was amongst a group of Asgardians, how such a fragile being could survive so long among gods. I wondered, but I see it now. You have been blessed by one, and the last, of Odin's children."
The alien's attention was back on you, and the intensity of his gaze had you trembling. He was staring at you, looking through you, and reading you like a book.
"What a pitiful yet fortunate creature you are."
It was like the oxygen had been sucked from your lungs, and when he moved, you found yourself flinching and scooting backward.
He had leaned down again, and his large hand had grabbed the side of your face. The feeling of his skin on yours made your skin crawl, and the urge to vomit was growing.
Thor wasn’t having it. He was thrashing about; the metal that was encasing his body was bending and stretching with each move.
His cries of anger and the desperation in his eyes were heartbreaking. And it was only shut up by the alien who had taken you. A piece of metal flew to Thor’s mouth and held it in place, preventing him from yelling.
More grunts and muffled noises could be heard from the god, but you could no longer see him now. The purple man was blocking your view.
But, despite that, he was still talking to Thor.
"It is a shame, Thor Odinson. I take pity on the both of you, and I apologize, for it seems that fate has not been kind to either of you. But, we must make sacrifices. It is unfortunate that your beloved had to be one of them."
Then, suddenly, the alien turned his gaze back to you, and his dark eyes bore into yours. He was staring directly into your soul.
"Fear not, small child,” he said, his voice sounding almost calm. “You will not have to endure the pain and suffering as I did.”
The words that left his mouth did not give you comfort. It was quite the opposite.
Thor came back into your viewpoint as the purple man had moved, and when your eyes met his, all you saw was a mixture of panic and despair.
Thor's expression had you feeling a type of way. You could feel your stomach sink.
You weren’t dumb. You were far from it.
You knew where this was going, and your mind was screaming, screaming for you to do something, anything.
Run.
Fight.
Scream.
Just do something.
But all you did was stare. Stare at the man that you loved. The man that loved you. The man who had saved you countless times.
But he couldn’t save you now, even when you cried out his name in a soft voice, that frail, humane part of you begging him with your eyes to stop this from happening.
To stop it from hurting.
He couldn’t.
All he could do was look at you, look as you were taken. Look as you were pulled away from him.
All he could do was stare and scream.
It was the loudest, most horrific sound you had ever heard. It was worse than the explosion.
It was worse than anything.
It was the cry of a man who had just lost the last thing that gave him purpose.
It was the sound of a god being torn to pieces.
And it was all because of you.
That was the last thing you heard. That was the last image that burned itself into your brain.
The sound of Thor and his desperate screams was the last thing you remembered.
Everything after that was darkness.
No memories, no thoughts, nothing.
Just darkness.
All he wanted was you.
All he needed was you.
And now, all he had left was the memory of you: that and his broken heart.

You should have known better.
Some snide remark you make with a mischievous look at Tony about being a little rusty after his bad dive into the water would come back to bite you in the ass. He's the king of snide remarks, and no insults, no matter how playful, go unpunished. Most of the time, you took his teasing as a sign that he liked you. Today, the consequences of his taunting were much more than you bargained for.
August in Manhattan was scorching, so the team was lounging at the Tower's rooftop pool for a rare day of relaxation. You used to love swimming, but you chose to stay dry in your coverup for a reason–a good reason.
However, Tony could never have known this. A few drinks later and, "You know what makes iron rust faster, Y/N, water!" The next thing you knew you were pushed from the edge of the pool straight into the water.
Gasps of disbelief and giggles filled the air from the team, alongside a lightly chastising, "Tony!" from Steve. When you got your head back to the surface, you shrieked at him with indignation, a smiling tugging on your lips as you pulled yourself back onto the edge. Thankfully, it had all happened too fast and the water made too much of a splash for them to have seen your skin when you went under.
"You'll pay for that when you're least expecting it, Stark," you warned, stamping your soaked feet inside.
"Y/N, where are you going?" asked Natasha., smiling You paused in the doorway.
"To dry off..." you say with a laugh, said as if it was obvious.
"Why don't you just take your coverup off and dry off in your bathing suit out here?" Bucky offered.
"Uhh...I don't want to get sunburned," you explained lamely.
"Sugar, there's an umbrella five feet away from you," said Sam.
"C'mon, no one's gonna judge you if your six pack isn't a defined as Thor's." Tony joked. Thor wiggled his eyebrows at Bruce, who shook his head in exasperation.
"Guys, just let her go," Steve defended.
Your response rushes out of your mouth and you shift your weight from foot to foot, "I'd really rather just dry this off inside quickly. I'll be right back." You turn and continue into the room, and turn to close the door after you, only to be stopped by Steve.
"Right behind you!" he called out, "I just have to grab something quickly," he smiled.
You held the door open for him and gazed up at his sweet expression, hoping he couldn't see how your eyes sparkle for him. "You didn't have run, Steve. I would've waited for you."
"Well," he tilts his head shyly, "I know, but I didn't want to hold you up," he says. "I know you didn't want to get wet today and I'm sure you're uncomfortable." Ugh, why did he always have to be so conscientious?
"Plus," he whispers, leaning close to your ear, "you're dripping all over Tony's expensive hardwood." He meets your eyes with a teasing gaze and nudges your elbow before heading down the hall.
You walk as quickly as you can to the closest bathroom, trying your best not to drip all over the place. Since you're wearing a bathing suit under your coverup, you don't bother to close the door as you strip off the garment and start drying it with a hair dryer.
You should have known better.
The loud whir of the dryer prevents you from hearing Steve's footsteps as he returns. "Y/N?" he calls. You don't notice him approaching until he right on the other side of the doorway. "You can wear this if you wan–what the fuck?"
Shit! You slam the bathroom door shut but it's too late. You know he's already seen the purple and yellow bruises covering most of your ribcage and abdomen.
In typical protective Cap fashion, the door instantly yanks back open as he storms in. Does Steve respect his teammates privacy more than any of the other Avengers? Yes. But his concern for their safety always takes precedence over privacy.
His eyes are wide, his brows are furrowed, and his mouth is hanging open. His whole body is tensed and you can see that Cap quickly replaced easygoing Steve the moment he caught sight of you.
"What the fuck happened to you, Y/N? Why are you covered in bruises like you've been beaten to shit?!" You squeeze your eyes shut and turn your face away from him. He's sounds mad. In a different situation, you'd have the wherewithal to know that he's just scared for you.
After recognizing your fear, he takes a deep breath to calm himself and softens his voice. His eyes are trained on you, desperately searching for a hint as to what's going on. Stepping closer to you and placing his hand gently on your arm, he asks again, "Y/N, what happened to cause all of these bruises?" His anger has dissipated from his words, but the question hold just as much authority as anytime Cap speaks.
"Steve, please" you whimper, trying to back away from the intensity of his gaze. "Please don't worry about it, it's nothing," you beg. You're staring at the marble counter, the tiled wall, even the damn wet coverup that started all of this as you attempt to avoid his gaze.
It's completely futile, as always when Steve is concerned about you and won't relent. "Y/N," he holds your jaw lightly, forcing you to face him, "I need you to tell me how you got those bruises."
The statement is final. You know he knows that they're not from a mission (he reads every report to make sure no one has gotten injured) and that he's not going to believe they're from some clumsy accident (he's had too many bruises himself and can tell what kind of marks a targeted attack leaves).
You can't tell him the truth. You close your eyes again to avoid his gaze, "It's fine Steve, they're almost healed," you say to try to deflect the question. He still doesn't let up.
"Y/N, did someone do this to you?" he asks, already half-sure of the answer. Your silence confirms his suspicions. He lowers his voice as soft as it can go, knowing what the next question will do to you. "Did someone close to you do this to you?" he asks.
Your eyes pop open involuntarily. You feel trapped and screwed because he knows–how did he know?
The instant he sees terror in your gaze, his heart breaks for you. How could he not have known? You're frozen in shock, reactionless. He moves his hand to the back of your head, caressing your hair and bringing your face into his chest. His other arm wraps around your back, soothingly rubbing circles on it as he hugs you into him. "Oh, Y/N..." is all he can say for a moment, his voice wavering with the pain he feels for you and the guilt he feels for not seeing the signs sooner.
Tears stream down your cheeks but your face is frozen still in worry. You couldn't break down sobbing now to save your life if you needed to. It felt like your emotions just shut off completely. All you could do was hyperfocus on what you needed to do to keep yourself safe in that moment. Which was ridiculous, considering you were with Steve who had never, ever hurt you before. For some reason, danger still felt imminent.
Steve pulled back, cradling your face in his hands, brows furrowed with worry and eyes the slightest bit glossy. "You're safe now sweetheart. We're gonna keep you safe. I'm gonna keep you safe."
You nod because your brain tells you it's the right response. You're not sure if you're actually hearing anything he's saying. You register the feeling of his thumb, swiping across your cheek. He must see the glazed over look on your face. You think he calls your name a couple times and the next few minutes are blurry. You're breathing, breathing deeply and slowly with him. He's guiding you back to yourself.
You blink a couple of times as your awareness sharpens back into focus. "With me again sweetheart?" Steve asks, thumb still caressing your cheek. It's bad, he knows that. You need to see a professional right away, but he needs you conscious and present in your body first. "Y/N, I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. I'm never going to let it happen again. But right now, we really need to get you to a doctor."
You're shaking your head violently halfway through his sentence. "No, no I don't need a doctor," you say instinctively.
"Sweetheart, I've seen bruises like this before and we need to make sure that nothing is broken," he says. "I can call in Bruce, or Helen, if you'd like. No one else on the team has to know if you don't want them to. But we need to make sure you're okay."
"Okay?" you ask, confused. "He's going to know, he always says I can't go to a doctor or the hospital, that they won't even treat me because nothing is wrong and he'll be so mad if I do it, I promised not to." The look in your eyes is wild, but you're speaking in sentences again and Steve takes this as a good sign. What you're saying is an entirely different story. But if he wants to help you, he can only take it one step at a time.
"He's never going to find out, I promise. Okay? You're not even going to leave the building, just downstairs in the medbay. No paperwork, no records, nothing. I'll stay with you if you want." You don't look convinced. "I promise he'll never know, alright? Do you trust me when I say that?" he asks, hoping to appeal to your rational side.
"Steve, I–I... he always finds out everything I try to keep from him. Why would this time be any different?" you're desperate and terrified, and Steve wants to rip that guy's throat out for everything he's done to make you like this.
"Sweetheart, because this time you have a team of superheroes and spies who are behind you," Steve says with a small smile.
This is what gets through to you. Your gaze flickers between his eyes, and your brows are still taught with fear. Slowly, however, you nod your head and say, "Okay Steve."
Relief floods his face as he pulls you back in for a gentle hug. "It's gonna be alright," he promises. You want to believe him so badly.
Thank you for reading! Comments & reblogs are always appreciated. If I can help anyone feel comforted by this, I'll have done my job<3

Imagine being Loki and Thor's sister, very sheltered and destined to one day be sent away from Asgard for a political marriage of some sort. They've both always been a little miffed about this arrangement, but they cope by taking all of your 'firsts' before you go.
18+ Dark Content. big brother!Loki, big brother!Thor. tw incest, creampie, dirty talk, spit roast. Cuckolding.
You grew up to be the most delicate flower the kingdom had ever seen, beautiful, kind, sheltered, and protected by the royal guard and your brothers until you were dependent upon them for everything.
They didn't mind.
Thor would stop mid feast if you needed him to read you a bedtime story, and Loki used every ounce of magic he had to make illusions that made you giggle and laugh.
But the threat of your marriage hung over all over heads like a death sentence. Especially once they learned you'd be leaving Asgard for good once you were married.
"Father, you must reconsider. How is she to exist outside these walls without us, married to a brute?" Thor argued to the AllFather while you slept soundly a few nights before you were to be sent off. Your new husband had made no effort to hide that he only saw you as a way to have heirs from a powerful bloodline.
"Their family has old blood Thor, old enough even our family recognizes it. It is a good allyship and that's final." Odin stared down his son ominously, and Thor felt his blood boil.
"If I may, Father, at least allow us to escort her to her new home. Give her some comfort at least." Loki spoke quickly, knowing if he didn't there would be another eye lost and not from his father's face.
Odin considered, for a moment before nodding tightly.
"But this is the last I am to here of this matter."
~
"I don't want to go. I want to stay with you. I wish I were marrying you and Loki instead." You wailed, fully sobbing as your brothers held you close after telling you what your father had said.
"Don't cry, little one. Please don't cry," Thor begged as he rocked you.
"It'll be alright sister, I have my magic. No one will keep us from you no matter how far apart." Loki tried to convince you but it just made you cry harder, clinging to his hand as Thor cradled you against his broad chest.
"No, b-because he'll own me. I'll be h-his and he'll get to make me b-bear his children..." Thor's jaw clenched and he looked to Loki quietly. It was easy enough for Loki to guess his brother's thoughts after hundreds of years, but for once Loki was in complete agreement.
"What if we put a child in your belly first?" Loki murmured as he brushed his thumb over your knuckles. For the first time since they'd told your about Odin's words your crying died down a little.
"Really? You'd do that for me?" You looked between the two of them with wide hopeful eyes, squeezing Loki's hand tight.
"Of course we would. Your ours, always have been and always will be." Thor's deep voice was gentle but completely serious. You wiped your tears, sitting up a bit taller.
"I'd much rather have your babies than his. I love you both, so very much." It was simply the truth, one the three of you all knew.
"Then let us show you how much we love you, sister."
~
The hours had blurred. What had started with gentle kisses and soft touched had long since devolved in hazy, animalistic sex.
"Another." Thor's massive hand slapped down on the fat of your ass, his cock pounding into your gushing insides relentlessly. Loki was groaning as you practiced deep throating him for the second time that night.
"Good technique. I think dear sister, fuck that's good, we've made you into a whore." Loki sounded pleased, Thor only growled in warning. They'd had this argument several times as the night wore on.
"Am I too lewd brother?" You'd asked when you'd demanded they teach you how to make them cum with your mouth so they could use you at the same time.
"Not at all, I quite like knowing you have some whorishness in you. Just needed to be nurtured." Loki purred as he kissed you, deeper than before. You heard a loud CRACK! and looked up to find Thor breaking the arm of the chair he'd been resting in.
"If that man touches you like we have I'm killing him. Allyship, war, all of it be damned. If he touches you I'm burning his kingdom to the ground." It wasn't a bellow like his normal good natured threats, this was quiet and deadly serious.
"Yes, yes. Only for us. Or Thor will kill your future husband." Loki laughed as he tugged on your hair forcing you down the last few inches until your nose was buried in his pubes. When you merely blinked up at him all pretty and wet eyed he barely got out a warning before he was coming down your throat.
You gasped for air when your brother released you. You'd lost count of how many loads you'd taken from them both, but each one made you feel greedier. You wanted to drown from the inside until you were marked irrevocably and their claim on you was undeniable.
"Breathe love, Thor give her space-" Loki combed your hair away from your face, trying to look in your eyes and check that you're okay.
"No!" You moaned as you fucked yourself back on your brother's girth shamelessly. "M-more, don't want to stop. Not till it t-takes. Please? Please please please," You begged shamelessly as Thor groaned and fucked you through his orgasm, each spurt squelching out around his cock onto the drenched sheets.
"Shh love, you know how Loki worries. We won't stop until you're with child. We promised didn't we?" Thor kissed your shoulder as he reached around to tease your clit, his fingers growing slick the more he played with your nub. "Because the only children you'll be having are ours."
"Even-"
"Even after you're married to that oaf, you'll still be good for us won't you?" Loki placed two fingers under your chin to make you look at him, your eyes glazed over and adoring.
"Yes."

Summary: Thor's magic wreaks havoc on Steve's memory and your relationship!
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Avenger/Powered!reader
Word Count: 2,660
Warnings: mostly fluff, mild angst, memory loss, mistletoe!
A/N: @buckys-wintersoldier thanks for listening to me complain about this all day!
It had been an accident, but you were convinced that the innocent mistake was going to ruin your Christmas, and possibly the rest of your life. Thor had dropped by the compound to flex his muscles and herd some escaped convicts from Agsard who had sought refuge in midgard. Steve, Tony and Bucky had offered to help, letting the rest of the Avengers and you continue to work on your own tasks and pick up the slack. They made it back home without a scratch, but Thor’s exuberance and bluster lead to a small bolt of lightning breaking off from Mjölnir’s strike, hitting Steve unexpectedly in the face. He hadn’t even had time to grab his shield from Bucky’s arm during the commotion.
Steve woke up flat on his back with you, Bucky and Thor leaning over him worriedly. You stroked his face gently as his eyes fluttered open, a wave of relief washing over you. It would definitely take more than a single bolt of lightning to defeat Captain America!
Steve groaned and looked around, his vision adjusting slowly to his surroundings. “What happened?”
He caught sight of Bucky on his left. “Buck?”
“Hey bud, how you feeling?” Bucky asked him gently.
“Like someone punched me in the face.” He scrunched his eyes shut and shook his head from side to side to clear the fog from his brain.
“Steve?” You put a hand on his chest.
Steve sat up, looking at you with intrigue. “Sorry, ma’am. I hope I didn’t startle you.”
“Ma’am?” you asked, surprised by the way he spoke to you.
“Did you call an ambulance, Bucky?” Steve asked.
Bucky frowned at Steve’s reaction. “No, pal. Y/N always like to dress like that!” He smirked at you.
“Do you two know each other?” he asked before looking straight ahead of him and seeing Thor in his full armor. His jaw dropped to the floor unceremoniously. “Bucky, what’s going on? Where are we?”
“Steve, it’s okay, we’re home. We’re just outside the compound.”
“Home?” Steve asked again, looking around and not recognizing his surroundings. He looked around feeling like he was in a foreign land. This confusion was giving way to panic as he laid his eyes on the magnificent, glass-paned, Stark-designed building looming on the horizon. “Who are you people?”
“Steve, it’s me. Y/N.” You took one of his hands gently between both of yours.
It crushed your heart when he pulled it away slowly. “I- I’m sorry. Have we met?”
“You don't know who I am?” you asked with a slight tremble to your lip.
“I'm sorry, ma'am.”
“Steve,” Bucky put his vibranium hand on his best friend's shoulder, making Steve recoil slightly as the hard metal made contact with his shoulder.
You saw the look of hurt that flickered across Bucky's face.
“What is that?” he asked, finally taking in Bucky's appearance, his long hair, bearded face and prosthetic arm. “What happened to you, Buck? And… are you shorter than me?”
Steve looked down at himself, finally understanding that he was the one who was different.
“Steve, what do you think the date is?” Bucky asked and you knew he was thinking the same thing as you.
“August 19th. But I'm guessing it's not because it's snowing out here.”
“And the year?” you whispered, hoping he wouldn't confirm your fears.
“1942.”
There was a collective sigh of disappointment as everyone around you reacted to his words. Steve's memories only extended as far as the war, after Bucky had been drafted but before he had received his orders. His memories of the serum and Captain America had gone, including his memory of you.
“Steve, we should get you back inside. Figure out what's going on with you.”
“I feel fine, thank you.”
“Bud, we should get you to the med bay. You got hit pretty hard and you seem to have forgotten a lot of things,” Bucky intervened, knowing that Steve wouldn't necessarily take advice from a stranger. He put his flesh hand on Steve's shoulder this time and led him away. Steve followed without so much of a backward glance at you.
“Sorry kid, that was rough.” Tony's shoulder rubbed against yours. “Don't worry, I'm sure we'll figure out how to get his memories back. Come on!” He beckoned to you before flying back to the compound with only the lower half of his suit engaged.
Begrudgingly, you forced your feet to follow your friends back inside. You made your way to the infirmary and stood behind a glass screen watching Steve speaking to Bruce, your fingers subconsciously fiddling with a metal band on your left hand. It should be you standing there taking care of the love of your life, tending his needs. But instead you were hiding while all your friends surrounded him in an effort to jog his memory.
Over the next week in the lead up to Christmas, you went about your usual tasks and preparations for the holiday but it just didn't feel the same without Steve by your side. You missed how he would hover over you as you cooked or held your hand as you walked, you missed your morning runs and how he would push you to beat your own times, making you run further, faster and longer than you'd ever done before. He inspired you, he encouraged you, he loved you.
Now you felt lost without him. Despite his physical proximity, you could no longer feel the emotional intimacy you'd built. Every time you saw him, he was accompanied by a member of the team but he mostly sought the company of Bucky, feeling far more comfortable with him than anyone else. Surprisingly they had all respected your request to approach Steve on your own terms. You had explained that it was so that you didn't overwhelm him with information, but in reality you were afraid, terrified in fact that he might reject you.
What you hadn't noticed was how Steve's eyes were constantly on you when you were in a room together. It often made Bucky chuckle and roll his eyes but true to his word, he kept his mouth shut. In fact, Bucky had become a better friend to you in the last week than he ever had been before. He had started running with you in the morning so you wouldn't be out alone. And despite telling him you didn't need a babysitter, he insisted that Steve would never forgive him if anything happened to his best girl. You loved Bucky for his loyalty.
“Don't worry, you'll get him back,” he reassured you with a gentle nudge of his elbow.
“I hope so, Buck, I really do.”
It was Christmas Eve and you were feeling a little overwhelmed by the feelings of loss you'd been pushing away until now. You decided to slip away from the compound to avoid the pitying glances and worried questions from your closest friends. Grabbing your headphones, a waterproof jacket and your running shoes, you escaped to the solitude of the lake within the grounds of the compound.
You used your powers to push yourself, let out your emotions. A disney playlist was pounding against your ears and as you reached the edge of the frozen lake Let it Go started playing. Lost in a world of your own, you started singing along to the music, using your powers to swirl snow around you in an attempt to imitate Elsa’s theatrics from the movie. Unbeknownst to you, you had an audience. Steve and Bucky had also a similar idea of getting in a run and Bucky, who had seen you leave, had steered his friend in your direction.
They watched from a distance as you danced and sang out your emotions. Steve stood enraptured with wonder at your display, his jaw hung loosely until Bucky gently closed it for him.
“Go talk to her,” he smiled knowingly.
“What am I supposed to say, Buck? She already knows me.”
“Trust me, pal, that’s a good thing. Just go and be yourself.” Bucky shoved his best friend in your direction.
The momentum from Bucky’s gentle push got Steve walking over to you, his footsteps crunching in the snow. He was surprised that you didn’t hear his footfalls but the music pounding in your ears had you lost to the world. That was until-
You reacted blindly to the hand on your shoulder, grabbing Steve’s hand and using your powers to flip him over onto his back on the dock.
“Steve!” you shrieked. “Oh my gosh, are you alright?”
Steve chuckled. He was surprised not only by your reaction, but the fact that he wasn’t winded by the force with which you’d slammed him to the ground.
“What have I told you about all the sneaking?” you pulled him up into a seated position.
“I don't remember,” Steve shrugged, trying to smile innocently as you sat down beside him and hung your feet off the dock.
A sudden laugh burst from your lips and in that moment Steve vowed that he would spend the rest of his life getting you to do it every single day. Unfortunately, your laugh ended with a sigh.
“I didn't mean to startle you,” he apologized.
“It's okay, I'm just worried about your safety!”
“I think I'm safe. My body is different from what I remember.”
“How does it feel?” you asked curiously. You'd asked Steve about his transformation before, but Steve had always brushed it off, that it had been his duty to change. Perhaps now you'd get a more truthful answer.
“Different… liberating.” He smiled at you shyly. “I used to have to worry about the cold weather, I couldn't run without the threat of dying. My reflexes aren't too shabby either.”
“It must be pretty overwhelming, all these changes.” You didn't just mean his physical changes.
“Yeah, it's not been easy,” he shuffled uncomfortably beside you. “Finding out that I did this to myself to fight in the war, that Bucky suffered so much,” Steve sighed, he always blamed himself for Bucky's experiences, that hadn't changed. “And don't get me started on the twenty-first century!”
“That one's a doozy, huh?” You nudged his shoulder with yours.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Always.”
“Why haven't you tried to help me remember my past?”
“I didn't want you to feel pressured to remember. It's been a lot for you.”
“Thank you, I appreciate that. At least Christmas doesn't seem so different. Do you have anyone special to spend it with?” He nodded at the diamond studded ring on your finger.
He had noticed. Naturally he had, your Steve was a very observant man. You wondered if there was a chance of rekindling the romance between you, even if he didn't regain his memories. The thought saddened you. You'd built a strong foundation through your shared memories and experiences, it almost seemed unfair for you to have that advantage. But here he was, the head strong, stubborn and scrappy man you loved. He was no different to the man you'd grown to love even if he didn't know it.
Steve presented himself to the world as Captain America, someone who gave off an air of confidence and calm, but to you, he was Steve Rogers, a scrawny kid from Brooklyn who never backed away from a fight.
“Yeah, I do. I'm hoping he gets back home in time for the holiday.”
Steve sighed. He was surprised that Bucky had encouraged him to pursue a woman who was already taken.
“But I wouldn't mind your company till he comes home.” You batted your eyelids and spoke slightly flirtatiously, wondering if he would notice.
“I know that it's not really my business, but I was wondering if you could tell me about your fiancé.”
Wow, Steve was a bit of a sucker for punishment. Maybe he liked you more than you thought.
“He's kind and smart. He’s brave… strong. But the thing I admire the most about him is how determined he is to do the right thing. He puts everyone before himself, so I consider it my duty to make sure someone’s around to take care of him. Plus he’s incredibly handsome, so that doesn't hurt.”
Steve laughed, mesmerized by you but he could feel a sinking feeling inside him. Of course you wouldn't be interested in him.
“Oh and he has this really cool superhero name. It's Captain America!” You winked at him with a smirk playing on your lips.
“But-”
You watched Steve's face as the penny finally dropped.
“Why didn't you say anything?” he asked.
“I thought it would be a bit too much information. Don't you think?” You paused, before adding. “And to be honest, I was a little scared.”
It took a few moments for you to get the courage to look up into Steve's face, hoping he wasn't completely repulsed by your admission.
“No one else here has mentioned that you… we were engaged.”
“They don't know. We were going to tell them but then this happened and well-” you shrugged. “Plus, you weren't planning to propose until Christmas Day, but someone-” you prodded him in the side. “Someone got a little impatient.”
Steve blushed. “Well how could anyone wait to be married to someone as beautiful as you.”
It was your turn to blush. Which was followed by a shiver, your body trembled a little as a cold wind picked up around you. Chivalrous to a fault, Steve took off his own jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders. “Why don't we go back inside?”
“Yeah,” you puffed out the word along with a small cloud of mist. “It feels like it's going to start snowing again.”
The two of you made your way back to the compound side by side in a comfortable silence. The backs of your hands brushing against each other but neither of you finding it in yourselves to reach out and take hold. Steve opened the door and held it open for you to enter first.
As soon as you both entered the threshold and shut out the cold, you looked up at Steve, smiling at the pink tinge on his cheeks and the sweet smile on his lips. You longed to feel his arms wrapped around you. Just as you were able to tear yourself away, Steve grabbed your wrist.
You turned back to him and noticed that he was pointing up at something. You followed the direction of his finger and a smile broke out on your face. Someone had tied a sprig of mistletoe from the ceiling.
“Is that-?”
“Yeah.” He answered your unasked question.
“I guess that means I owe you a kiss.”
“Far be it from me to break age old traditions. We wouldn't want to risk bad luck, would we?”
You moved back to face Steve, but he seemed to have lost that courage to move further. “I- this isn't something I've done before.”
“That's alright. I think we'll manage just fine.”
A warmth blossomed in Steve’s chest, sparks igniting as you leaned in close, lips brushing together, tentatively, for the first time. The smell of your strawberry scented conditioner made Steve dizzy with anticipation, butterflies dancing in his stomach.
Your warmth consumed him as you leaned up into the kiss, Steve’s lips impossibly soft against your own. The kiss was soft at first, chaste and innocent. His warm lips were soft and parted slightly giving permission for your tongue to enter his mouth. His nose nudged yours gently as you moaned quietly. Oh how you had missed him!
As he opened his eyes, he looked down at you as though he was seeing you for the first time. Every time Steve had imagined magic, this is exactly how he had pictured it. He knew everything about you, how could he have ever forgotten you?
“Y/N,” he said softly. “I made it home for Christmas.”

The Stars
Masterlist / Main Masterlist
Asgard 2013
Warnings: Loki's dirty thoughts about Astri, Loki talking about his life with Thanos.
For someone who had been locked up for weeks, Loki looked a little too desirable. His deep voice was soothing as he read the book he had chosen for tonight. Astri had long ago stopped focusing on the words and was admiring him through the yellow barrier that separated them. His hair was a bit curlier today than it had been yesterday, Astri wondered if he had done it like that on purpose. The green leather and golden armor he normally donned was gone and in its place was a softer more comfortable-looking outfit, perfect for the lounging that took up his days.
"You aren't listening," Loki said suddenly
"Sure I am." She lied
"I chose a romance book because I thought you'd enjoy it." Loki sighed
"And why would I enjoy a romance book?" Astri asked
"I thought most females enjoyed romance books." He reasoned
"How stereotypical of you, Loki." Astri smiled
"Well if you don't want to read what do you want to do? Our options are limited given I'm stuck in here." He said, snapping the book shut
Astri thought about what they could do with Loki stuck in a cell. The idea of trying to push her way through the golden barrier crossed her mind, sure her magic might be strong enough but was Odin's rath worth it? Astri wasn't quite sure.
"How about we just sit and talk?" Astri suggested
She took Loki's silence as agreement and began the conversation.
"What do miss now that you're stuck here?"
"Everything," Loki admitted
"If you had to pick one thing," Astri said
"I guess I'd choose...the stars. It was always peaceful looking out my balcony at night when the stars shone. I wish I could experience it again." He chose
"Interesting choice." Astri complimented, standing up
"Where are you going?" Loki asked
"To my chambers. I'll see you another time." She explained as she walked away
She could hear Loki scampering to find a reason for her to stay longer, even offering to never choose a romance book again for them to read together. Astri was glad that he had chosen something simple for her to bring to him, had he chosen something like conquering Midgard that would have made her idea much harder. Now, all she had to do was figure out how to get through that damn gold barrier.
Loki didn't see Astri for the rest of the week, the only signal that she wasn't angry with him was the romance book she had sent to him via a guard who had handed him a note to go with it.
Thor's lady, Jane, says men who read romance books are hopeless romantics themselves.
Was he a hopeless romantic? Surely not. They were just means of entertainment for him after all he had a higher purpose that he'd someday fulfill. Astri's analysis was wrong. Speaking of Astri, where the hell was she? She had said she'd see him again but didn't give a date or a time and it was driving him mad. The only other real interaction he'd had since she left earlier this week was with Frigga who projected herself to his cell. Sure, it felt like she was close to him but it hurt when he'd try to reach for her only for his hands to slip right through. Loki loved Frigga deeply but he yearned for Astri's sharp remarks and how she'd immediately call him on his lies.
He wondered what she'd be wearing the next time she entered the dungeons. Perhaps a lilac dress? She had been in a pale pink the last time they spoke. Of course, he'd love if she wore the blue one she had that had white lace embroidered on it, that one was his favorite. The way it accentuated what she thought was hidden so well under the fabric was perfectly sinful. Astri's figure had been on Loki's mind a lot recently. Initially, he thought it was because of being stuck here and the fact that she was going through his mind at night. But it had continued the entire week and he hadn't seen her at all. Sure, it could have been her going through his mind but that didn't explain why he thought of her even during the day. He'd spend time reading or drawing and find his mind wandering to her what her lips would taste like. He had smelled the stuff she put on them once, it smelled like fruits, would she taste like it too? Loki's mind spiraled more as he wondered what she'd look like if he slipped his hand up her skirt and into the apex between her thighs. He'd love to pin her down on the bed he was sitting on now and press his face between those same thighs until she screamed from overstimulation. He wondered about what she'd look like above him, gasping in pleasure as she took what had always been hers. Loki wanted to be able to press a kiss to every inch of Astri's body and yet here he sat, imprisoned while she flitted about in the castle about him.
"Good, you're still awake."
Astri. Finally, she showed. Loki's hands fumbled with the pillow beside him as he placed it quickly over his lap. It was so late what was she doing down here now?
"Well don't be shy, get up and greet me properly." She commanded
Loki eyed her arms which were overflowing with a bundled-up blanket and a big wicker basket. Ordinarily, he would've risen to greet her but his half-hard cock wasn't something she'd want greeting her so he stayed put.
"Fine, be rude." Astri huffed, pushing the blanket and basket through the small weakness in the yellow shield that was meant for delivering his meals. "You'll be thanking be after this."
Loki's eyes widened as Astri's closed. A soft blue hue covered her body as she took a step towards the shield.
"What are you doing? The guards will-" Loki stopped his words as Astri phased right through what was penning him in. "When did you learn to do that?"
"What do you think I've been spending my week doing?" She smiled crossing the cell to get to him
Loki wasn't expecting a warm hug but he welcomed it anyway.
"I can't believe you tried conquering Midgard," Astri said pulling away and giving him a hard shove
No sooner had he opened his mouth to explain his glorious purpose than Astri had slapped her hand over it, shutting him up entirely.
"You can talk about glorious purpose later. I have a surprise." She smiled, turning around and laying the blanket on the ground.
"What are you doing? You do realize this is a dungeon...how did you get past the guards?" He asked suddenly curious
"A cloaking spell." She smiled and began unpacking her basket which as it turned out was full of food.
"So you're here to have a midnight picnic with me?" Loki asked finally standing up
"No, silly. You said you missed the stars, so I brought them here." Astri smiled pulling him down on the blanket with her.
Loki decided to indulge her desires and got comfortable beside her. His hand reached for a grape as Astri snapped her fingers beside him. The area around them dimmed and the ceiling of the once bleak cell was transformed into a brilliant light show. The other cells disappeared as Astri's magic took over and seemingly wrapped them in their own little bubble. The stars twinkled and danced in front of Loki's eyes as he observed what she had done for him.
"Do you like it? I know it's not the stars from your balcony but it's the best I can do right now." She said
"I love it." He smiled, looking at her
"Good...I also brought some food." Astri awkwardly pointed out
"Yes, I see, thank you. " He said genuinely
They sat in awkward silence as Loki tried to think of something to say to the girl next to him. This was the first time they had been physically in front of each other in weeks. His hands itched to take hers in them, they looked impossibly small as she picked at the skin beside her nails.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Astri asked suddenly
"I bed your pardon?" Loki asked, confused.
"You knocked me out, destroyed Joutunheim, then let go and fell who knows where after Odin woke up and tried to help you and Thor." She explained
"Is that what they told you happened?" He laughed
"Yes. I want an explanation, now." She demanded, reaching to poke at his ribs, an oddly ticklish spot for him
"There was no point in staying behind. There still isn't anything for me here on Asgard, my rotting in this dungeon proves it. I have never and will never be essential to the house of Odin." He said
"Nothing here for him he says." Astri sighed "What about me? Or Frigga? During the year you were off gathering an army did you ever think about what we were feeling?"
Loki felt his anger boiling in his stomach. Did Astri think he was off galavanting across the galaxy, feasting war generals so he could use their troops to win Midgard?
"Do you honestly think I was living my best possible life after I left here? What do you think I was doing all that time?" He snarled, upset that Astri was only talking about her and his 'mother'.
"I've wondered every night what you were doing where you were but you never speak of it." Astri said
She had him there.
"Have you ever heard the name Thanos?" Loki asked, he felt his hands shaking. Why is he telling her this? Stop it. Send her away, yell at her to go back to her room, and push her away.
"I've heard it, in whispers from travelers and reports from across the galaxy, Odin has mentioned him." She said, Loki could feel her eyes on him, his gaze cast at his lap.
"After I let go I ended up in a place called the Sanctuary. I met Thanos there. He offered me control of Midgard in return for the Tesseract." He said shakily.
"What more? Months after you went missing, I kept trying to find you, and one night I did, or I think I did. You were suffering heat or something was being used." Astri said gently brushing her hand along his shoulder.
"He uh...He, Thanos used a tremendous amount of heat to buy my submission." Loki said, shutting his eyes. "Frost Giants can burn as it turns out."
Loki felt Astri's hand rubbing at his back and her chin resting on his shoulder.
"After I had submitted to his whims, he used the Mind Stone, one of the Infinity Stones to do his bidding. After that, he sent me to Midgard, Infinity stone in hand." He said, "It remains there, those Avengers have it."
Loki heard Astri let out a soft hum of confirmation next to him. Minutes passed and Loki dared open his eyes when he felt Astri shift beside him.
"I want you to know something, Loki." Astri said hooking a finger under his chin so he'd look at her "You are good. You always have been even if can't see it.
Their noses brushed as Loki's eyes fluttered shut again. He felt hot tears run down his face at Astri's words. Damn it why did he always cry when he wanted to express emotion?
"Thank you, Astri. I don't feel that way, though." Loki said his eyes opening to meet Astri's whose face was close to his.
"You will. One day." She reassured
Astri was indescribably warm as she pressed her forehead to his. Their breaths mingled as Loki took her hands in his.
"I missed you. There wasn't anyone to read with or joke with." She admitted
"You could have with Fandral." Loki smiled
"Oh please, Fandral reading?" Astri scoffed
"True, I think he'd rather chop off his right arm than pick up a book," Loki said, sitting up and pulling away from her slightly.
Astri's hands broke from his, and she grabbed at his shirt, pulling back towards her.
"Wait." She murmured
"What is it?" Loki asked
Astri's face grew redder the more Loki looked at her.
"Don't you have something to say? You told me to wait." He teased
"I just..."
Come on, say what's going through that pretty head.
"I like it when you're close to me." She whispered as if it were a secret.
"I it like when you're close too," Loki admitted, reaching out and twirling a strand of her hair around his finger
Astri let out an amused giggle and leaned closer.
"Guess I should stay nearby then."
Loki had no complaints about that statement and nodded in agreement. Astri's scent invaded his nose, it was exactly as he remembered. Fruity yet flowery at the same time, and yet it wasn't too overpowering. He watched as her tongue appeared, slightly wetting her lips, it was like she was trying to tempt him into touching her.
"What're you thinking about?" Astri asked
"You," Loki said
Astri barely had enough time to crack a smile at his admission. Loki knew what was next, a smart comment about how she was always dancing around in his mind. So, he stopped it in what he thought was the cleverest way possible and brushed his lips on hers. They tasted of fruit just like he had imagined for so many years. Astri had let out a small squeak of surprise when Loki had leaned in but now, he felt her smiling into their kiss. Smaller arms wrapped around his shoulders as she let out a laugh, breaking away for air.
"What was that?" She breathlessly asked
"You said you liked it when I was close." He said a wide smile on his face.
Astri tossed her head back with a laugh and Loki felt his own laugh bubbling up through his stomach and out his mouth. He felt Astri's hands playing with the hairs at the nape of his neck, her nimble fingers pushed through his dark strands and a shudder ran down his spine. Their lips met again, this time with Astri initiating. Loki gently cupped her face as he felt her invade all of his senses, her presence was casting an unbreakable spell on him and he gladly welcomed it with open arms, after all, it was all he could ever dream of.
Hehe first kiss for Loki and Astri.
I am having Coriolanus Snow brain rot. Tom Blythe is one sexy mf.

His Girl Friday
Summary: At Tony Stark's forty-fourth birthday party, the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist and his longtime personal assistant finally address what's remained unspoken but secretly acknowledged between them for many, many years.
Pairings: Tony Stark X F!Reader
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings/Disclaimers: None
A/N: Hi guys! This is my first time writing a Tony-centric fic and I had a lot of fun with it, so thank you for reading and I hope you all enjoy!
His Girl Friday May 29th, 2014 Avengers Tower, New York City (Fanfiction Masterlist)
Being employed as Anthony Edward Stark’s personal assistant was a challenging and often times perilous job, and that was before he’d announced himself to the world as Iron Man. But (Y/N) (Y/L/N) was no ordinary personal assistant; she stood by the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist when he vowed to stop producing weapons at Stark Industries after being imprisoned by terrorists for three long months, she stuck with him when his secret illness and subsequent erratic behavior drove nearly everyone else away, and she flat-out refused to believe he’d been killed at the hands of the Mandarin. It was evident that Tony Stark was the closest thing she had to a best friend. Lately, however, she’d begun to notice a significant shift in her feelings towards her employer, feelings that definitely went beyond friendship and feelings that she suspected he was feeling as well; she tried her best to keep them at bay, fearful of ruining such a meaningful friendship and throwing away the only job she’d ever truly enjoyed on a baseless suspicion, and thankfully, there were always plenty of distractions to keep herself preoccupied with in her unique line of work.
From her place at the back of the room, (Y/N) scanned over the enormous checklist in her hands to see if she’d missed anything important; the guests were chatting, dancing and taking full advantage of the open bar while the DJ was playing all of Tony’s favorite songs in honor of his forty-forth birthday. All in all, not one of the worst birthday parties I’ve ever planned for him, she thought to herself, a reluctant smile playing on her lips as she recalled the disastrous thirty-ninth birthday party that resulted in the Malibu mansion’s near destruction at the hands of Tony and Rhodey. That particular birthday party was the reason why she’d initially been a little nervous at the prospect of the Avengers attending the soiree, but it only took a brief glance around the bustling common room to see that they were the perfect guests; Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson played pool with Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff, while Bruce Banner hovered near the back of the enamored crowd of people that surrounded a slightly-inebriated Thor and listened to his enthusiastic re-tellings of the adventures he’d had on Asgard. Pepper and Dr. Helen Cho were seated at the bar and chatted over glasses of Chardonnay while Happy was hyper-focused on his phone, no doubt catching up on an episode of Downton Abbey. With an inward chuckle, the personal assistant returned her attention to her lengthy list of tasks as the classic rock music continued to play.
“Hey beautiful, how ‘bout a dance?”
“Sorry, but I’m worki-” (Y/N) looked up to see Tony Stark himself standing before her, looking as handsome as ever in his expertly tailored black tuxedo and flashing her his signature grin that never failed to make her heart skip a beat. “Hey, you. How’re you enjoying your birthday party?”
Tony tucked his hands into his pockets and shrugged noncommittally. “It’s one of your better-executed extravaganzas, I will say, but it would absolutely skyrocket to the top if I could spend the rest of the evening with my favorite personal assistant.”
(Y/N) arched a skeptical eyebrow. “Tony, I’m your only personal assistant.”
“Exactly, which meant you get the title by default. Yay you!” The billionaire gave her a small applause and she simply heaved an exasperated but fond sigh at his typical theatrics. “C’mon, Girl Friday, you’ve been working your ass off all night and the Birthday Boy says that you should take a well-deserved break.” As his trademark smirk softened into a gentle smile, Tony took his hand out of his pocket and offered it to her in a clear invitation to join him. “Please?”
Although her heart was screaming at her to take his hand and allow him to whisk her into an evening of laughter and coy flirtations, the rational part of her knew that she had a job to complete and that anything more than a friendly conversation could jeopardize their platonic relationship. Masking her disappointment with a shrug and apologetic smile, (Y/N) shook her head and held up her checklist for him to see. “I’m sorry, Tony, but I still have so much to do; I’ve gotta do another check-in with Maria and the security team downstairs, make sure that the pastry chef brings out the cake on time, that the waiters serve the guests champagne at the right tempera-Tony!” She exclaimed when Tony’s hand shot out and snatched the checklist out of her grasp. “Anthony Edward Stark, what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Getting rid of an obstacle,” Tony easily replied, holding the checklist above his head and snickering when she unsuccessfully attempted to snatch it back. “Seriously, Girl Friday, just one dance and I’ll let you get back to your boring planning. I’ll even avoid bugging you the rest of the night if it means I can spend a little time with one of my best friends.”
Tony’s rare sincerity softened (Y/N)’s heart, and she felt her resolve crumble as she stared into his gleaming brown eyes. “All right, one dance. Do you ever get tired with always getting your way?”
“Nope!” Tony happily popped the ‘p’ and tucked the checklist into the pocket of his tuxedo jacket before offering her his hand once again, and (Y/N) smiled to herself as the billionaire escorted her to the edge of the dance floor and whisked her into a slow dance to Bon Jovi’s ‘Bed of Roses.’ The warmth of his hand on the curve of her waist combined with the feel of his body brushing up against hers caused her heartbeat to quicken its pace, and she silently prayed that he wouldn’t notice the effect he had on her. “You know, I was being serious before. You’ve truly outdone yourself tonight, (Y/N), and can I just say that you look amazing?” Tony’s eyes briefly glanced down at her red chiffon evening gown and he gave her an appreciative nod. “Mm-hmm, hot-rod red is definitely your color. So, what’s your secret? How is it you can organize and schedule a genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist’s entire life and look drop-dead gorgeous while doing it?”
(Y/N) chuckled in amusement, the skirt of her gown swirling around her legs as he twirled her in a circle. “We all have our own superpowers; you fight aliens and terrorists in a red and gold Nitinol suit, and I oversee the hectic life of the man inside the suit to the best of my abilities.”
“Not sure which is the more dangerous job, to be honest.” Tony smirked, expertly guiding her back into his arms and holding her slightly closer than he had before. “But if I could do that death-glare that you’ve perfected over the years, then that would sure make my job a helluva lot easier and people would think twice before messing with Iron Man.” (Y/N) arched a brow and in response, Tony snickered. “Yep, there’s the death-glare!”
“I hate to burst your bubble, but this death-glare is tailor-made for Tony Stark and Tony Stark alone,” (Y/N) replied with a wry smile, and the billionaire’s grin widened as she looked into his sparkling brown eyes. They danced together in a comfortable yet expectant silence, almost as if one was waiting for the other to speak first, but both remained quiet while the 80’s power ballad continued to play; it wasn’t until she noticed the way he was biting his lower lip – one of the few tell-tale signs that there was something weighing heavy on the billionaire’s mind – that (Y/N) finally mustered her courage to address him. “You got a lot of cool presents this year, not to mention hundreds of thousands of dollars in charitable donations gifted in your name. Not too shabby, huh?”
Tony shrugged and replied, “I’m a sucker for gifts and I’m beyond stoked that we’ve raised so much in donations, but…” His eyes briefly flicked downwards to focus on the fluttering movement of her chiffon skirt, suddenly appearing as anxious as (Y/N) felt. “Can we play a quick round of Hypothetical Hold’em?”
A nostalgic feeling washed over (Y/N) at the mention of their old game. Back in the more impulsive and less responsible days of Tony Stark, it had been an effective form of decision-making created out of the billionaire’s respect for her opinions and general advice; they hadn’t played very many rounds in the years since he announced to the world that he was Iron Man and while she was happy that he’d grown and matured so much over the years, a small part of her missed their little game. “I’m a little rusty but I think I’ve still got it. Shoot.”
“A guy I know, Walter, he’s got just about everything he could possibly want in life, except the only thing he really wants is something he can’t have. You see,” Tony expertly dipped her and her breath hitched at the sudden movement, their eyes connecting as he continued. “There’s this woman – let’s call her Hildy – and he’s been in love with her for a while. And Hildy, she’s goddamn fantastic: smart, kind, funny, gorgeous, the whole enchilada.”
Heart sinking into her stomach, (Y/N) mustered up a small smile to hide her pain while he slowly righted her. “Hildy sounds wonderful. So, what’s stopping this Walter guy from telling her how he feels?”
“A couple of things, actually.” He took a deep breath. “She’s not just one of his best friends, but…you see, she’s also his personal assistant.”
The din of the party faded away as (Y/N)’s eyes widened in shock at the billionaire’s candid words; if not for the seriousness written across Tony’s face and the longing gleam that had formed in his brown eyes while he stared into hers, she would’ve assumed that he was pulling her leg. But she knew him, knew him far better than almost anyone else in the world, and it was clear as day that he was speaking directly from the heart. “…Oh.”
Tony nodded, the corner of his mouth twitching upwards in a tried and true attempt to hide behind a more lighthearted façade. “She’s taken such good care of him. He was a loose cannon for a long time…still is, in a way, but she’s gotten him through all the tough spots. He’s good friends with some ex-assassins, a super-soldier and a literal god, but she’s the strongest person he’s ever met and the only person he could ever imagine giving his heart to. But as much as he loves her, he’s not willing to roll the dice and risk losing her from his life forever; that’s why he…” Tony cast his gaze downwards and his hand gripped hers tight. “That’s why I never said anything before.”
“So, what changed?” She whispered as she slowly moved the hand that had been resting on his shoulder to press against the spot where his arc reactor once resided, feeling his rapid heartbeat and silently marveling at how perfectly it matched her own.
“Looking across the room and seeing you with your checklist; you’ve planned over a dozen successful birthday parties for me, but that didn’t stop you from treating tonight as if it was the first. It’s one of the thousand ways you show how much you care about me, and that’s what gave me the courage to walk to the back of the room and finally ask you for a dance.”
The booming opening chords of AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ filled the room and while more guests took to the dance floor for the lively song, (Y/N) grabbed Tony’s hand and practically dragged him away from the crowd, not stopping until they were tucked away from any prying eyes in Captain Rogers’ nearby office. When she closed the door behind them and turned around, she was met with an apprehensive-looking Tony and her subtle smile grew into an all-out grin as her eyes filled with happy tears. “You love me?”
“I love you,” Tony replied, his voice growing steady and his eyes filling with confidence at her obvious happiness. “C’mon, Girl Friday, you’re killing me here. Do you love me or what?”
Beaming with joy, (Y/N) brought her hands up to cup his face between them and nodded. “You’re such an asshat, but I love you with all my heart.” Tony’s grin grew to match her own and he leaned forward to kiss her, but was halted by her fingers covering his eager lips. “And in the spirit of covering both our asses, I’d like to take this moment to formally tenure my resignation, Mr. Stark.”
“Duly noted, Miss (Y/L/N). And since I’m such a good ex-boss, I’ll send your resume and a letter of recommendation to a certain defrosted super-soldier who could use all the assistance he can get.”
“Becoming Captain America’s personal assistant? It’ll be a cake-walk, but at least I’ll have my favorite hot mess to come home to.”
(Y/N) moved her hand and giggled at how quickly Tony’s arms wrapped around her waist to tug her closer, but her amusement soon gave way to passion as their lips finally met in a long overdue kiss.

A/N: I figured that we all could use a little fluff, and what better way to deliver it than in a friends-to-lovers trope-fest? Thank you all so much for reading and commenting, and I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season!

⎯ one in nine realms [mini series] “chapter 7”
[masterlist]
[previous chapter] [next chapter]
▸summary: heimdall feels anger, y/n have fun with it.
▸wc: 2.3k
▸warnings & tags: reading minds, jealous!heimdall, thor’s and y/n’s bond, y/n having big sis energy, fluff, anger, monologues, inner thoughts (so much), hei become a dickhead, pov switch, hei!pov, cutie!atreus. [clue for the next chap; intimate moment of hei and y/n ^^]
Heimdall was angry. Definitely. He was angry and he didn't know why.
Maybe he knew but he would never admit his anger to himself because of the fact that he began to feel it, raising beneath his skin, after seeing the scene in front of his eyes that can see everything purely and entirely; you are being so close to Thor, Odin's other son who has no brain at all to use, like he is one of your friends, like he is not your enemy like other Aesir people.
From the corner he was standing, leaning to a huge wall, he was watching your conversation with Thor. There was so much noise around the realm that disturb his hearing abilities but from reading both your and Thor's mind, even if he had zero thoughts to going on because of his stupidity.
You were smiling. So much even. There were a few touches that exchanged between the two of you; you touched his big chest, he touched your shoulder to squeeze it. From the thoughts you two had, he can clearly understand that you were just an old friend for Thor, he really loved Sif and surprisingly, he was feeling - happy to see you. On the other hand, you were happy to. You were treating him like he was no Aesir, the enemy of Kratos, your dear friend as he saw in your thoughts. To save Atreus, to help Kratos, you came all these ways. He knew you and Kratos had a bond but he didn't expect you to have a friendship bond with Thor as well.
He knew you two didn't have a intimate bond other than friendship but well, he couldn't help himself; the odd feeling, which would call as jealousy, landed right into his heart and mind. He didn't like what he saw; you with Thor. No, he didn't like it at all.
So, when you really laughed happily, his hand became a fist. Why he was feeling - mad? You didn't mean anything to him, not a single thing. You were just a Goddess who could be enemy of his people anytime. He shouldn't trust you - he shouldn't think about you. He should make you leave the Asgard as soon as possible, the realm he had to protect, his home but an inner voice kept saying how he wanted to make you stay, in Asgard, with him.
Your unexpected impact of him wasn't something he could avoid. It was attacking to the body, mind and heart like a void. He was having a weakness because of you. He was - thinking. Something he didn't want to because when he would begin to think, his mind goes crazy, he knew that.
To stop his thoughts, to stop watching you have a discussion with Thor about Atreus and the mask mission, he turned to other side only to see the Valkyrie he talked a few days ago while you two were riding on Gulltoppr. Valkyrie walked towards him after meeting with his gazes. He even didn't notice her presence around, looking directly to his direction because of your existence in his mind that makes him just focus on you.
"Heimdall," Valkyrie's seductive voice didn't work on him but he kept a cocky expression on his face. "It's good to see you finally," She looked at you, "Alone."
Smirking, Heimdall said, "Well, it's not a secret that I have quite popularity in Asgard. It's hard for me to have a available moment."
She looked at him with a well-knowing expression. Pointing at your direction, she added, "They said she was an outsider. Someone as low as her should not allow in -"
"She is All-Father's guest." His voice was higher than he intended to. "Are you trying to say his choice about guests is wrong?"
Valkyrie tried to defense herself, waving her hands in front of Heimdall, "You got me wrong. I didn't mean to judge All-Father's choices."
Heimdall looked at her eyes, not wanting to continue this argument any longer. He was mad but not to Valkyrie but to himself because after her speech, Heimdall didn't protect Odin's wishes, no, he protected you.
He realized that Valkyrie was putting you in a lower life form and without a particular reason, he felt offended. No one but except him could make fun of you or saying harsh things. You were - you were on his protecti - no! not protection, he said to himself, you were on his watch.
While fighting with his own feelings and thoughts, a voice coming from other side took his interest.
As he looked that way, he saw half-breed, running towards you. A smile grew on your face as Heimdall's gazes traveled your pretty face -
"Will you come tonight?"
Valkyrie asked, making Heimdall realize her presence again. Without saying anything, he waved his hand towards Gulltoppr. "Dunno. Just keep what you are doing." Then, he got up on the top of Gulltoppr.
° ° °
"Y/n!"
Atreus' happy voice came from other side, making you jump at his high pitch sound. "Atreus!"
Opening your arms, you hugged his smaller body, welcoming his arrive happily.
"I missed you."
"Me too!" He turned to Thor who was standing silently. "Oh, Thor, ugh, hi?"
Exchanging glances with Thor, you tried not to chuckle at Atreus nervous behavior.
"It's okay Atreus. He has no harm." Turning to your old friend who now had his arms crossed on his huge chest, you furrowed, "Right?"
Nodding slowly, Thor said, "As long as he doesn't think to play with me."
"Of course not!" Atreus defended himself, "So," He pointed you and Thor, "How come you know each other?"
Smirking, you said, "It's a long story. I will tell about it as we go back to your room, okay?"
Nodding to you, Atreus smiled. "I have lots of adventures to tell, y/n! Thor and I already found another piece for the mask! Do you want to see it?"
As he made a move to pick up the mask he had on his back belt, a voice you missed to hear suddenly came out of nowhere, "Well, well. Isn't this a beautiful sight to see? Three people under All-Father's orders became one."
Rolling your eyes, you looked at Heimdall who was riding his horse, Gulltoppr while smirking playfully. The sun's light was licking his pretty face and good looking body features as his eyes' color began to shine more.
"Heimdall," Thor's deep voice interrupted your shared look with Heimdall, "Where is All-Father?"
Heimdall smirked, "In his personal room of course. Why are you asking though? Will you try to tell," He waved his hands to point Atreus, "How you become friends with this half-breed? Or," He pointed at you, "Will you say how his other guest who is another enemy of our people is already friend of yours?"
Oh, you thought, how you expected him to see you as a friend, not an enemy of his people. You thought you were really having a bond, he was - liking you but you were wrong. Heimdall was a God that only cared for himself and All-Father. He didn't need anyone's friendship, especially you, the enemy.
Well, maybe - A complex thought caught you and before Heimdall read your mind, you acted.
"He already knows it." You said to him, referring to Odin, "He was the one who helped us to meet, isn't that right Thor?" You smiled, "Do you remember the first time we met?"
Thor smiled too, showing how he remembered it and felt happy. The first time you met was for another day to tell but you had a relationship with ups and downs because of your marching personality; hard-headed warriors. He was the one who made you realize what you were doing. He was covered in blood already, head to toe but he wanted you to go, to reach the freedom you deserve. He was, maybe, the only Aesir God who you would have so much fun with.
Turning to Atreus who was looking at you and Thor with his cute little eyes, you said, "C'mon, we should get going." Taking him by shoulder, you even didn't give a short look to Heimdall who was silent felt like an age. Smiling to yourself, you realized how funny you found his silence posture. Well, he wasn't the only one who had cocky attitudes after all.
"See you soon Thor."
After that, you left two sons of Odin with Atreus. As you believed, they had a discussion to make.
° ° °
You were playing with him. Heimdall knew it with all his heart. Reading your filthy and complex mind became an addict for him that he want to do every moment of the time you two had.
He hated liars, especially those who thought they could lie to him particularly. However, you weren't them. No, you never lie to him or to yourself. You weren't hiding your thoughts, yes, sometimes you made it more complex for him to understand but it was a defensive manner, he got it eventually. But you never lied. Even right now, you didn't hide how you wanted to make him mad and even jealous about your relationship with Thor. You expressed your own feelings about Thor and the bond you had while not being afraid to show it to Heimdall who was standing there like a statue, feeling a little anger coming out of you. He knew the source of this little anger; him calling you an enemy.
He didn't mean to actually, he didn't mean to be a cocky God this time. It was just his nature. His defense mechanism.
Jealous he felt before he came to your side made him act like this; hostile.
Even if he knew what you were doing, making him mad and jealous, he couldn't help but feeling them. You were right about thinking that the whole thing you had with his dummy step brother would touch his nerves. You were enemy of his people, yes, but right now, he wasn't sure whether you really was an enemy of his or not. He wanted to take you in but he simply couldn't. It was not his nature.
"She is long gone." Thor said, making Heimdall turn to his side as he stopped looking at the direction you went.
"What are you talking about?"
Heimdall wasn't reading his mind, not wanting to see what Thor's dummy mind had on it.
"You are looking to that direction for too long but she's already gone." Moving with his huge body slowly, Thor smirked, "You are like any of us after all."
Anger that Heimdall felt this particular day was enough.
"I will not deal with your nonsense. I have better and more important work to do." Making a sarcastic bow to Thor, he began to ride Gulltoppr again. As he was leaving Thor and all events that happened behind, he heard his last words, "Whatever you say."
Deep down, he knew what Thor thought - he thought how Heimdall became fond of you, how he - he was acting like the way Thor acted when he found Sif.
No! - Heimdall shouted to himself. He didn't want to think. He just needed to leave this place, to shut his mind down.
In the end, he was heading towards the Valkyrie's practice area. He needed to turn back the way he was before you entered to the Asgard, to his life.
° ° °
“Then, Thor helped me to take the piece! He didn’t leave me to death. I think he is not a bad guy after all.”
Smiling to Atreus’ exciting posture while he was telling you the adventure he had with Thor, you caressed his hair, “He is just broken. I assume you already saw that too.”
Nodding sadly, Atreus added, “He looks like he is lost.”
“Indeed he is,” Sitting on the bed of your room which Odin gave you as thanks, you said with a serious tone, “But we can’t trust any of them. They are still see us as their enemies. They can do whatever they need to do if Odin just orders. So,” You touched both of Atreus’ arms gently while he listened you carefully, “We will be careful and we will hold each other’s back. Got it cutie?”
Rolling to the nickname you used for him, he stand up from the bed, “Don’t call me that!”
Chuckling to his cute expressions and eyes, you waved your hand, “Okay, I will not. But if you give me a promise.” You rose your little finger, “Promise?”
Nodding to you, Atreus took the little finger you gave him with his smaller one, “Promise.”
Holding him by his little finger, you smiled, “Don’t forget I am here only for you Atreus and no one, even Thor, can hurt you. I will not let them.”
Admire he felt towards you occurred on his blue eyes who held skies on them, making you feel like a protector and even his big sister. Everything that came out of your mouth was facts; no one and even Thor who was probably a lot stronger than you now can not hurt him. You would not allow them to. You would cut their head off if they try to raise a hand towards Atreus. Giving him a short hug, you kissed his cheek which he cleaned immediately but having pink color on his cheeks. You laughed, “I will leave you now. I have to speak with Odin. Then, we can go to travel the realm together. Would you like to do it?”
Atreus nodded happily, “I would love to!”
“Wait for my return, then.”
As you made your way out of the room, Atreus’ shy but happy voice came from behind, “Y/n,” he said. You looked at his smaller body while he was scratching his back hair shyly, “I am glad you are here. With me. Thank you so much.”
Feeling so happy that you give him a big smile, “Me too, Atreus, me too.”
Then with that, you left him alone to speak with Odin. You need to make new arrangements, especially about his favorite boy Heimdall.
TO BE CONTINUED.

What If Their S/O Died During Ragnarok?
Characters: Thor, Odin, Loki, and Heimdall Inspired By: My wish to write angst A/N: I have nothing to say so read the angst. ⚠️ Spoilers/Trigger Warnings for: Death, fighting, details in death, murder, and just pure angst no fluff. ⚠️
Disclaimer: F! Reader in Odin's part because of Thor being his son
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Thor ═════════════════════════════════╝
🌩️ Thor always adored your strength. You weren't as strong as him but you were quite a threat when you needed to be, so when you were called for Ragnarok, he wasn't surprised
🌩️ You stood before the human named Julius Caesar, and if you were being honest, his cunning nature was starting to annoy you even before your fight began, but now that you were far more advanced into it, it was beginning to make your anger come out
"I'm gonna tear your arms off your body and use them to beat you senseless!" You screamed, raising your weapons to strike him down.
"Bring it!" He yelled back.
🌩️ As you swung downwards, the male disappeared, making your eyes widen and you feel a pain hitting your midsection. Staring downwards, a large gladius blade poking through your body
🌩️ The sound of everyone gasping made Thor look up from his hammer in the private room. His eyes locked with the screen and his grip tightened around the handle, launching up from his seat, he began to practically run outside to the ring
🌩️ Thor ran as fast as he could go up the stairs, his sudden stop between you and the former Roman dictator causing a mass amount of sand to fall upon him. He looked back at you and saw how you fell to the ground
"Y/N..."
"I love you, Thor... after death does us part..."
🌩️ Your body began to shatter as your husband kept his grip on your body, trembling as you died. You, the love of his life, died in his arms
🌩️ He turned around as your green-shattered body began to float away, he then dug his fingers into his weapon, it almost shattering the object he held onto. Thor then looked back at the human, rage in his eyes as he let out a deep warning as thunder wrapped around them all
"You'll pay for this, human."
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Odin ═════════════════════════════════╝
🪶 Vlad the Impaler, former Voivode of Wallachia, well-known blood-thirsty monster, and current-opponent against the co-leader of the Norse Pantheon, Goddess of the Afterlife, Y/N stood before one another, weapons drawn as Heimdall yelled for the round to start
🪶 Thor watched as his mother walked to the human, shook his hand, and readied to fight. Normally he would be just as calm as his father, but after the loss of Poseidon in the third round, it was worrying that they could possibly lose another God, specifically his own mother
🪶 Odin, his father and your husband, just sat there with a blank face as saw how your weapons clashed, leaving sparks behind as you danced around him
🪶 During your time ruling over those who have passed on in Valhalla, Hel, Fólkvangr, and Landscape, you would be able to move around their wispy-like forms with ease, as if you were a dancer. And while it was beautiful in those times, right now it was helping you survive
🪶 Odin's eyes narrowed as Vlad lifted his kilij and sent it smashing down onto your own spear, successfully smashing it in half while you flew back and sent attack after attack at the human who tried killing you multiple times
🪶 It only lasted 20 minutes when you knocked Vlad the Impaler down, causing him to cough up blood and see his blade get smashed underneath your foot. While he did have a Völundr, it was of no use, your skill in battle rose far above his own
🪶 Holding your blade to his throat as he pressed against the wall, he took the final attempt at hitting you by throwing his blade at you, though you dodged and allowed it to fly past you. You scoffed and chuckled at the action of the human
"How amusing, even after so long of trying to stay alive you still don't understand that I cannot and will not allow myself to be taken down by a man with longer hair than my nutcase-nephew. Now, accept your fate. Any final words for your fellow parasites?"
"Yes... I made sure I got my final head."
"What?"
"Y/N, look out!"
🪶 In the matter of a second, time stopped. A large mount of black hair launched in the air with shock while the rest of the beings all froze in fear. It was the leader of the Norse Pantheon, it was Odin who had gone blind in rage so quickly
🪶 Jumping down from his seat, Huginn and Muninn swarmed around your body, now holding a blade within the head and squawked in agony. Loki and Thor stood in complete shock as Odin held his hand up and sent a blast at the human male, killing him slowly and painfully while he picked up your body without any emotion and carried you away
🪶 All Gods watched silently as the humans just looked down or stayed with their eyes glued on the events. The Gods felt ashamed at the loss, yes. But seeing such a kind and loving part of their society fall in such a hurtful manner broke some hearts while Humanity just shook their heads with either shame or pity for the Norse Family
🪶 When Odin fought soon, everyone knew that he wasn't going to go down easy... not after this...

╚═════ Loki ═════════════════════════════════╝
🐍 Loki and you have been amused watching the humans and Gods fight. At first, the fights went by smoothly, the loss of Lü Bu and Adam not fazing either of you, but as the humans began to rise in power, resulting in the loses of Heracles, Poseidon, and Hades, your nerves slightly grew when your name was called
🐍 Walking around the ring amusing yourself was easy, but standing in front of those they called 'History's Greatest Military Mind', did bring your ego down slightly, much to his surprise
🐍 As you clashed in the arena, your husband of many years, Loki, floated around and laughed at the futile attempts against you. It was pointless, with your mindset and similar, to his, abilities, you were practically invincible
🐍 Loki smirked as you fought, ignoring the calls of his Uncle Odin's birds. And while they were annoying, if he had to endure them to see his lovely spouse win, then so be it
🐍 His face only began to darken the Alexander began to advance with his Valkyrie-bond. Now his attacks were starting to land more often, and that was not good at all
🐍 You were a Deity who has fought in many wars, you knew how opponent's thought, but every time you knew what he was going to do, he'd switch it up on the spot. Now you understood his nickname to the fullest
🐍 Loki's eyes narrowed in worry as you lunged forward to stab him in the head, only for him to dodge, go behind you, wrap his legs around your neck, pin you to the ground, and speak his final words to you
"You were an amazing opponent, Deity of Order. And I wish you no pain."
"Why you-"
🐍 Dead silence.
🐍 With one blow, you had died. A stab wound to your heart, causing your once glowing, glimmering eyes to drown in a pool of darkness. Loki watched as your arms slumped down and as Humanity cheered for their heroine
🐍 But what he didn't know is that the Trickster God from the Norse Pantheon was standing right behind him, ready to make him feel the same pain he made his lover feel a couple seconds ago

╚═════ Heimdall ══════════════════════════════╝
📯 He has seen all either fall or stand in this tournament, but there was one that he did not wish to witness end with a Gods' non-victory, and that is Round 5 of Ragnarok, Hannibal Barca vs Norse-Deity of the Sound, Y/N
📯 You two have been together since the very beginning, growing from friends to full-on romance in just a matter of a couple thousand years, which is fast for any average Deity-relationship, which normally appears after around four-times that!
📯 He watched you two look at one another blankly, but he knew how you thought. You were coming up with every angle you could hit this guy and he could go down like a fly, and he hoped those plans worked
📯 Heimdall blew into his horn and the match began, the sound of metal clashing and grunts being all he could hear whilst everyone else conversed and made their own sounds in reaction to everything
📯 You could hear everything better than anyone, and using your daggers, you tossed them in the air before they came flying down, making the loudest screeching anyone could ever hear. After doing this many times and having Hannibal come back with his own attacks unique to himself, which made you smirk and laugh
"If you believe such minor attacks with a Valkyrie could kill me, you're wrong human."
📯 Hannibal smirked and raised his weapon once again for an attack set like a joust. You just scoffed and aimed your sword for his heart, but before you could hit him, a pain was felt the back of your head... a shield had come flying down and smashed your head down
📯 You fell to the ground in pain as he grabbed the shield and hit you once again in your head, making you wail in agony from the pain. Like mentioned earlier, your hearing was exquisite, so having this crashing your head while he hit it with his sword wasn't very nice
📯 He then pierced your head with his sword, causing everyone to freeze slightly. Humanity then broke out into a cheer of celebration while the Gods stood in shock... how did he bring you down in a matter of 32 minutes?! What had he done?!
📯 Nobody was more shocked than Heimdall. He had just witnessed his spouse of over four-thousand years die before him. Everyone knew he wasn't going to speak, so, in an effort to help the man, Zeus came down and yelled out the rounds' results
📯 While Humanity celebrated and the Gods just stayed silent with either rage or pain for you, Zeus looked back at the Norse God and spoke gently as to usher him into a room to relax
"Heimdall, wait for me in the room with a soundwave on it. I'll be there in a little bit and we can speak of this."
📯 Heimdall nodded as he rushed away, tears threatening to spill from his eyes as he ran. Why did you have to die... why did Zeus have to choose you... why was life such a pain...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve felt a kind of giddiness he had never felt before. It was almost nauseating; somewhere between the greatest euphoria and the deepest of depressions. He felt himself unable to bring words to his lips, when Bucky knocked on his room door to ask him how he was holding up.
“This is fucking crazy, man.” Bucky had breathed out. It seemed the same cat had got his tongue.
Steve had breathed out a half-laugh. “Yeah, it’s definitely crazy.”
He felt delirious. Dizzy with every emotion he had ever, and will ever feel. He found himself staring at the clock as time ticked by, agonisingly slowly. He fought against every instinct he had to run to her, make sure she never left his sight again.
It had been nearly 80 years since they had last seen each other. What if she had moved on? What if he was too different for her now? What if she was different?
As they had talked, it felt the same. But the talk they had had wasn't quite enough for the captain. He fought against every instinct he had to charge into her room and demand answers to the thousand questions running through his head.
His best bet would be going for a run, clear his head, work off some energy. It was a nice day outside, and a weekend so most of the agents and personnel were off-base. He shrugged on some gym clothes and headed out. He found himself lingering, as he walked past her door, trying to fend off thoughts of charging in and blurting his deepest thoughts to her.
The sound of... struggling? He could hear her, with ragged breath and the sound of what he thought was someone bumping into furniture. His eyebrows furrowed as he went into avenger mode.
"Princess?" He knocked quickly on the door, listening as he did for further sounds. As he knocked, the noises stopped. It was only through his supersoldier hearing that he could still hear her ragged breaths.
A small, breathless voice came from behind the door. "I'm okay, I'm alright!"
The captain wasn't entirely sure what to do. "Do you need help with anything?"
There was silence for a moment. And then, the lock on the door turned and she stood, once more, in front of him. Now, she was more flushed, and her hair had fallen ever so slightly out of place. The captain still thought she was the most radiant being he had ever seen.
"I... I am sorry to ask, captain. I am so used to having handmaidens that I can't get my armour off by myself." She looked away as she said it, and Steve cursed himself as a blush spread it's way over his cheeks.
"I'll help!" He said, perhaps a little too much enthusiasm behind his words. He immediately pulled it back, "or I could get Natasha, if you want."
The princess smiled at him. "It's okay, I wouldn't want to bother Miss Romanoff, if you don't mind helping?" She held the door for him and he entered her chambers. If she had been on Alfheim, or Asgard for that matter, this would have caused great scandal. For a brief moment, regardless of the circumstances, she was grateful to be back on Midgard.
She lifted her arms to show him how the chestplate connected around her torso, and he began to undo the intricate mechanism stitching it together. They were both hyper-aware of their closeness in that moment, each fighting not to think about it too much.
"It's beautiful." Steve tried to cut the silence, but his voice came out as more of a whisper. "Your armour, I mean. The carvings." He cleared his throat.
She made eye contact with him, and he nearly audibly gulped. "Thank you." As the mechanisms finally gave way, she pulled the piece over her head, holding it in front of her. "It belonged to my grandmother, the last Queen of Alfheim. They say even the stars themselves bowed to her."
Steve didn't miss the sadness layered in her voice.
"I never knew anything about your family before. It's crazy that they're kings and queens." Steve confessed.
She placed a hand, lightly on his arm. She couldn't think of what to say in response to that, but the gesture was enough. She hung the armour in the wardrobe, then began to take off her jewelry starting with her jeweled tiara. As she pulled it from her hair, he audibly gasped.
With the way her tresses fell, and covered her ears, it was like the princess disappeared and was replaced with (y/n). His (y/n). The one he ejected from the plane to save, all those years ago. The one he had mourned since he came out of the ice.
She turned to him, smiling. "You look the same, you know." She continued, "As when we last saw each other."
Steve caught a glimpse of himself in her mirror. He didn't feel the same as back then. He had been so full of hope, so naïve. The modern world made it hard to be optimistic.
"I'm older, now. You haven't aged a day." He responded.
She chuckled. "Steven, you are the same boy who jumped on the grenade at Camp Lehigh, it doesn't matter how you've aged." The kindness of her words as she said his name moved him in a way that no one had in a long time. "My people age far slower than Midgardians, so physically aging is an honour. I hope that one day, I experience the blessings of the years."
"What... what age are you?"
"Are you quite certain you want to know?" She asked, a hint of a smirk on her lips. When he nodded after a moment's hesitation, she continued; "I am 578 years old."
His jaw nearly hit the floor in shock. He looked at her features intently, his mind clawing desperately for anything to say. She didn't look a day over 25, and hadn't since the 40's.
"That's... um, pretty old." He stuttered out. Well, that was not what he had meant to say.
Her melodic laugh reached his ears and he had to admit, he breathed out a sigh of relief. "Captain, that is not a very becoming thing to say to a lady," She giggled. "I am barely a quarter of the way through my life span."
"God, sorry I didn't mean it like that, just... It's all so strange."
"I know, Captain. It is a long time in comparisons to a Midgardians life. I hope that it does not disturb you too much."
In the silence of the room, Steve suddenly became aware of the distance between them, or rather, the lack thereof. She was so close he could almost feel her breath on her face, as her eyelashes fluttered, looking up at him.
Her irresistible eyes.
He could reach out and grab her, right now. It would be easy, romantic, passionate, wonderful. He wanted to do it, badly. To feel his hands on her waist, to wrap her in his arms. He wondered, briefly, if she would tangle her hands in his hair.
In the real world, he couldn't do it. They had been apart for nearly a century, and even when they knew each other, they hadn't gotten that far. He didn't know if she still... felt that way.
His head was spinning, everything seemed to be moving too quickly and too slowly at the same time. Mayday, mayday, mayday.
He cleared his throat and moved away. Well, it was more of a jump. So much for looking normal, he thought to himself.
"We should go for dinner, uh... people will be waiting." He examined her features. She smiled politely, but her eyes betrayed something else. Was that... disappointment he detected? He was probably wishful thinking.
"Of course, Captain. I will get changed into the clothes Natasha brought for me, and then we shall go." She elegantly picked up some clothes, and wandered to the bathroom.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dinner was lively as ever. At Thor's request, everyone had joined the team in the dining room for some pizza. Steve and the Princess wandered in later than everybody else, but were welcomed with cheers and laughter. It was nice.
"Princess (y/n)!" Thor boomed, motioning his friends over to two empty seats beside him. "I believe you have met everyone bar the young master Parker, over here." He pointed towards a young brunet boy, sitting rather awkwardly at the corner of the large table.
He waved, whispering a barely audible "Hi."
"Hello, Master Parker. I am (y/n) of Alfheim."
"Yeah, I heard, um. It's Peter, not Master Parker. My name I mean. If you want to- if it's your tradition or whatever you can call me that too I just... um, most of the uh avengers call me Peter, I mean." He placed a hand over his face in what even the princess understood was teen angst.
"Peter, then." She smiled politely at the young, flailing boy.
"I call him bugboy, if that's any more appeasing to you." A familiar voice parted through the din of the many, many conversations being had around the table. The princess looked to see Bucky sitting across from them, next to the man called Sam.
She laughed politely, at his joke, understanding immediately that the young avenger certainly experienced a lot of jokes at his expense.
Her attention was diverted, once again, by Mr. Stark. "Have you ever had the Midgardian delicacy of pizza, your highness?" There was a hint of sarcasm to his deference, that was not unnoticed by (y/n).
"Tony, she lived in Brooklyn in the 40s. Of course she's had pizza." Steve spoke up for her, also noticing the way Tony laced disquiet with her titles. He was being overprotective over pizza, and even though he was aware of the fact, he couldn't stop himself.
"Actually, Captain, I never got around to trying it during my time here."
A silence befell the dining room.
"What?" The harsh words came from Bucky, but it was a sentiment echoed quickly by Cap, and then young Peter.
"How could you have lived in New York for several years, and not had pizza?" Steve laughed at the Princess, who sheepishly smiled.
"I honestly did not realise it was a food, and I lived mostly on army rations anyway..." She explained.
"Oh my god, she's never lived." Sam spoke, dead-pan.
Tony finally interrupted the cacophony. "Well then, ma'am, consider this evening an education."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The evening was lovely. The conversation (and wine) flowed, never a dull moment. Thor and the Princess dazzled with tales of their worlds and the many battles they had faced. Steve and Bucky reminisced with the Princess about the times they had shared together.
As the evening grew quieter, the Princess found herself feeling safe, for the first time in a while. She was all too aware of Cap's arm slung over the back of her chair, dangerously close to being around her shoulders. Her heart skipped a beat every time he leant down to her ear, to share something only with her. It was an honour and a privilege, for his words to reach only her ear.
For the last 80 years, she had felt like she was spinning out of control. With the war, and especially the last attack, things had been worse than ever. But now, she could get used to this.
She dared, as she laughed at one of Tony's jokes, to put her head on the Captain's shoulder. As she did, she happened to catch Bucky's eye - he smiled and winked.
Yeah, she could definitely get used to this.
Unfortunately, she wouldn't get the chance to.

Chapter 1
As the chilling winds of autumn swept through the Asgard, a deep sense of longing settled in your heart. The impending winter brought with it a heavy weight of sadness and loneliness, made all the more unbearable by the absence of Loki. You had found solace in his company during your time in Utgard, but now, returning home without him by your side made the world seem colder, emptier. The prince was sent to the mountains with his fellow warriors to complete the final part of his traditional training, both of you vowed to keep in contact through letters. However, as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, the promise became increasingly difficult to uphold. Time seemed to stretch endlessly and so you found yourself yearning for any word from the prince as half of winter had already passed.
As the usual Yule dinner at the palace approached, you couldn't shake off the looming sense of despair. It was a time of celebration and togetherness, yet, the absence of Loki cast a shadow over the festivities. Much to your dismay, your father extended an invitation to the king of Vanaheim. The news filled you with a mixture of frustration and disappointment. You had hoped that this year's guests would be from Jotunheim. Instead, fate had dealt you a different hand, and you found yourself dreading the arrival of the Vanaheim royals. To make it even worse, the king of Vanaheim was insistent on bringing his son Odr, a bratty and ignorant prince around your age. The very thought of spending the Yule dinner in the company of such an insufferable individual made your stomach churn with unease, declining your brother's well meant offer to punch him at your command, though the proposal brought at least a small grin on your face. But the worst was that the prince's father seemed far too eager to entertain the idea of a union between you and the prince, much to your absolute rejection.
As the evening of the dreaded dinner finally arrived, the sweet temptation to run away grew almost unbearable and the exaggerated pompous arrival of the guests from Vanaheim didn't help strengthen your resolve to sit through this torture. Thor positioned himself across from you at the dining table, strategically placing himself within the ideal range for his knife-throwing plans, as he amusingly pointed out. Your affection for your brother was deep and you valued his eagerness to protect and help you, even though you would never allow him to cause a major diplomatic crisis on your behalf. Should the need arise, you were inclined to employ more subtle and mischievous methods to handle the troublesome prince. Amidst the elaborate festivities and the forced smiles during the dinner, your gaze locked with that of Odr. In that brief moment, something shifted. A glint of genuine curiosity and mischief gleamed in his eyes, a stark contrast to the arrogant facade he had worn until then. It was as if, in that fleeting exchange, you glimpsed a different side of him, a side that intrigued you despite your initial reservations.
A silent sigh escaped Loki's lips as he sank onto his small bed inside the cramped tent. Despite being a prince, his only luxury on this journey was a bit of personal space. The instructor had already driven them through the freezing snow before dawn, forcing them to spar with each other for hours until the sun set again. They were given a brief respite to eat and regain their strength before venturing out into the bitter cold of Jotunheim's mountains, clad in nothing but thin leather armour. Though Loki had a natural resistance to the cold, each passing day made him feel more desolate. Despite his Jotun heritage, he couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't destined to be the formidable warrior everyone expected him to be, particularly in such harsh conditions. He would willingly surrender his title, his lineage, and even the entire kingdom if it meant he could sit comfortably in a warm library, immersed in a book while you curled up on his lap. He closed his eyes, focusing on that mental image, exhaling slowly as he imagined the sensation of your touch on his skin and the tender caress of your hands against his cheeks.
As the evening wore on, you found yourself engaged in unexpected conversations with the prince. The icy barriers that had separated you from him seemed to thaw, giving way to spirited debates and shared laughter until Odin had proudly stated that you were most skilled in mastering your seidr and had therefore spend the entire summer in Utgardhall, helping prince Loki to master his. The mood shifted as the Vanir prince's expression twisted into a sneer of annoyance.
"I'm not surprised", he spat, his tone laced with hate, "Jotun are known to be nothing but brutes. How could they master anything this delicate without help?"
In an instant, Thor swiftly seized the knife positioned beside his dinner plate, his gaze meeting yours with intensity. He let out a frustrated exhale upon observing your disapproving gesture and put the knife back. Fury rose inside of you as you took in what Odr just said. Loki and the Jotun you had encountered during the summer were many things, perhaps even rough at times, but certainly not brutes. You prepared to unleash your anger and confront the impolite prince, but before any words could escape your lips, Odin rose from his seat and forcefully slammed both hands onto the table.
"I must remind our esteemed guests that Jotunheim is not only a valuable ally", his voice reverberated through the grand dining hall, his barely concealed anger palpable, "but King Laufey is also a dear friend to our house, the very house in which you are honoured guests this evening."
The king of Vanaheim swiftly rose to his feet and stepped away from the table, bowing deeply in deference.
"Allfather, please pardon the disrespectful behaviour of my son", he directed a harsh glare towards Odr while keeping his head lowered in submission.
Your father might have been wise but you surely didn't know him to be neither a patient nor a forgiving man, so you prepared yourself for the imminent outbursts of anger from him. However, to your surprise, they never came. Instead, your mother placed her hand gently on his and smiled at the Vanir king.
"We are grateful for your presence at this dinner but you should leave now. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey back to Vanaheim", she spoke politely.
Observing the Vanir royals bowing respectfully and hastening towards the exit, you couldn't resist snapping your fingers. A mist of emerald green materialised at Prince Odr's feet, causing him to stumble, before dissipating without a trace. You couldn't help but chuckle, though your laughter was drowned out by the closing of the magnificent doors. Odin muttered something in annoyance before dismissing you and your brother from the dining hall.
"Are you alright sister?", Thor asked, looking worried.
You nodded and gave your brother a quick hug, thanking him for offering his support this evening before you made your way back to your chamber, a glimmer of hope sparked in your chest, yearning for a letter from Loki awaiting you on the vanity in your room. You hummed a cheerful tune as you strolled through the palace corridors. Despite feeling lonely without the Jotun prince by your side, the events of the evening made you appreciate the relief of not being bothered by the Vanir King's proposal for his son's hand in marriage anymore.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of Loki's mouth until a sudden weight of a packed bag crashed onto his stomach. He opened his eyes and glared angrily at Bjalki, who had barged into his tent with a smug grin on his face.
"Get dressed, prince", he chuckled, "there's a small village not too far away. They have hot springs and, as my most reliable sources inform me, some lovely ladies waiting to be wooed."
Loki rolled his eyes, pushing the bag off his belly before rising from his cot.
"I might join you for the hot springs but I have no interest in whatever women await in that village."
"Aww you're still thinking about that tiny Aesir princess, aren't you?", Bjalki poked playfully him in the chest.
"I happen to like her and she likes me too", the prince answered dryly.
"And yet you've received no letters from her", his friend pointed out, "and you haven't written any either."
"I barely have the time, considering we're being relentlessly chased through these wretched mountain passes."
"It was just a fling, prince, so you have no obligation towards her", Bjalki's gaze remained fixed on Loki as he traded his armor for more comfortable and warmer attire, "furthermore, you are both far apart. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. You deserve to have some fun, my prince. I am only concerned about your well-being," he added, shrugging innocently.
Loki let out a frustrated sigh. He would never admit it, but he struggled to cope with the anguish caused by the absence of your letters. Then again, he was travelling through the mountains, which would certainly delay the arrival of your letters. For all he knew, you could be pondering the same thoughts, as he had not found the time to write to you in the past month. He draped a fur over his shoulders and made his way towards the tent's entrance, stealing a glance back at his friend.
"I'll join for the hot springs", he muttered before heading out.
Loki and Bjalki had only been away from the camp for a mere thirty minutes when a messenger arrived. Dismounting swiftly from his horse, he made his way directly towards Loki's tent. There, he left a small package containing several sealed envelopes on the cot.

Hold My Hand - Chapter 1
View on AO3
Warnings: None for this chapter!
A/N: I'm really excited to be writing something, and what a better place to start than with the best boy, Loki. We'll get to him soon, promise x
You knew that venturing beyond the safety of your home past nightfall was ill-advised. Your mother had all but confirmed that, as you swung your cloak over your shoulders and lifted its hood.
“Daughter”, she hissed. “You are aware of your curfew, are you not?”
“Yes, mother.” Tucking loose strands of wispy hair into the hood, you turned to her mother stoically. Each time you attempted to leave, your mother supplied a new justification for the systematic removal of your free will. No leaving before sunrise, after sunset, while the sun is at its highest and, if you should find yourself out during these times, your cloak and hood must be up at all times. “I do not understand, though. Am I not approaching my twentieth year? I see no reason to continue this with you.”
Defiance was a rough streak you had carried with you throughout childhood. Your father had told you, at one point jovially, that you’d gotten it from your grandfather. Now, he said it with his lips set to a hard line and clenched jaw.
“Your insolence will get you in as much trouble as my father’s did”, he told you.
Though, a bit of trouble was never enough of a deterrent. You frequently found herself narrowly avoiding it at every turn in your life. Always living a bit outside of your parents’ rules, you found comfort in blurring the line between outright disobedience and malicious compliance.
Now, outright disobedience was something you knew your parents would just have to accept. You were an adult now and, you decided, could choose for yourself what risks you would take.
As you shut the door of your home behind you, you inhaled the sweet scent of the night air. Nighttime has become like an old friend to you. While your family chose to remain in fear of the outdoors and what it may bring, you found comfort in nature. Peaceful, beautiful, safe. You turned, heading into the woods just behind the modest cottage on the edge of town, following the path you had created into a clearing. It was not so far that you could not hear your mother’s calls for curfew as a child, but far enough that you could not be seen. That much was imperative.
-
As you reached the center of the clearing, you tipped your head back and allowed your hood to fall. The wind softly caressed your cheeks and you smiled as you reached up to unfasten your cloak, wrapping it into a bundle and placing it on a stump along the edge of the clearing.
You always loved this feeling. The beginnings of your seiðr uncoiling in your lower abdomen, the tension loosening from your shoulders. This was a beautiful sensation, and one you knew you had to savor before returning home. Dropping your shoulders, you allowed the magic to flow to your fingertips, a faint yellow glow beginning to radiate from them. It manifested a small ball of energy between your palms, and you slowly rotated it. These small moments are all you had. Mother would kill you if she knew how far you had advanced.
As the ball increased in size, you balanced it over one palm, rotating slowly. It’s then that you heard it.
Snap.
The magic dissipated as your head snapped to the side. No. No, no, no.
Snap.
“Is someone there?” You called, voice cracking. You knew what would happen if you were discovered. Magic like yours was solely that of the Royal Family of Asgard. Odin, the Allfather, would have your head quicker than you could even take your next breath. If you were found, you’d be reported to the Royal Guard and executed. Your familythey would likely face severe punishment, if not death, for hiding you.
Snap. “Please. If someone is there, please spare me. My family, please. I’m doing no harm.”
“Breathe, my lady.” A deep, yet soft voice emerges through the brush.
You turned, eyes wide, scanning your surroundings for the speaker. Your eyes locked on a familiar pair of blue ones, and in that moment, your heart stopped.
Prince Thor. Firstborn son of Odin and Frigga, King and Queen of Asgard.
The Allfather and Allmother.
