I saw this idea and thought it looked brilliant. I'm hoping to get a few more done, hopefully one a week, but I knew I had to draw Henry first in case I ran out of time.

Henry's theme of course is flowers and nature, featuring Robins, Roses, Holly and Poinsettias. I think the flying robin on the front of his boiler is my favorite light in this drawing.

Putting green lights on a green engine perhaps wasn't the best moment of genius, but after much reworking, I managed to get the holly and leaves to stand out.

I found this LMS Pacific book in a charity shop and it is full of photos of Black Fives I can use for Henry base references. I look forward to drawing many more Henry's from it in the future. The book \/

NO HIRO FANS TALKING ABOUT HIS LATEST APPEARANCE A GIRL MUST DO EVERYTHING AROUND HERE IT SEEMS

First of all, I must start saying that this episode was DELIGHTFUL!! About art and how different people see it and all the different ways one can make it! Simply incredible plot!!

Now for the actual appreciation!

The gentle way he looks at the smaller engines... it makes me sob..... Waahhhhhgg

Also Damn i wasn't expecting him loving art would be a part of Hiro's character, but it makes sense! I mean, if All Engines Go follows the same line as canon, makes sense that he finds enjoyment in art, after all he spent so many decades at that siding, unable to move, he definitely tried to find comfort in every single thing he could think of- I mean, he had a lot of time to think, yeah...

(not related, but i gotta adore how chubby his face is in his new rig! he's so fat, even more so than the little ones, he's so cute he's making me cry)

And it kinda makes his flashback during HOTR more valuable, seeing that it had this painted style to it. Maybe that's how he started seeing the world, or maybe he just loved art so much in the past that everything is like a painting to him. Who knows! But it's amazing

And seeing that he's so excited when hearing other engines' interpretations of art (both his and what they create themselves) makes him so excited, look how happy he is!! Hiro's smiling through almost the entirety of the episode!!

And the children are not behind! Thomas and Kana as just so happy to see him!! They're big eyed looking at him, waiting for what he has to say! He's their grandpa and they're his excited little grandkids

Love that they made him a guide for the younger engines during this episode, and that they're actually expanding on their old characters like this! This whole episode is something that maybe could've happened in the CGI series, but never like this, not in the way it happened here.

AEG may not be perfect, but it's not the trash people think it is. It's actually trying to get something to the younger audiences, actually trying to teach them something. "Art is subjective and everyone can be an artist" is something that I'm so glad they touched here, and Hiro was the perfect choice for that message

In conclusion!

the ttte discord got a little Spencer'd this morning and uh... this is the outcome! all engines go spince!! i've only watched clips from aeg, not any actual episodes, but i will admit it was pretty fun to attempt the artstyle to make a good ol' sponcer. he looks like such an asshole which is a real spancer moment to be honest pffft :3
