First impression:

i loved that he was such a little realist & that he was the only kid skeptical of jane because honestly?? like he turns out to be wrong, but everything he believed made sense! he just wanted to keep his friends safe.

Impression now

i think that, like mike, he's on a bit of a steep climb out of childhood that he's trying desperately to get out of, but his struggle isn't as visible as mike's and it doesn't get addressed as much. during season 3, lucas seems to enjoy that he gets to give mike relationship advice and feel like the role model, but he doesn't actually seem to know what he's doing. it's very in-character and funny/relatable. i hope that season 4 will give him a chance to explore that. anyway i love lucas my funny big hearted dude

i love the scene in the arcade where he tells max all of the risks about the upside down but still lets her in on the secret. it shows how much he's grown since season 1, and putting the "out of order" sign on dig dug was a nice touch haha

TURNABOUT REVOLUTION and absolute BEAST of a case (it’s two in a trenchcoat)

man. Where to start. ok first of all I think ima tackle it through the characters instead of these little case summaries I’ve been doing cause. Beast of a case. anyhoo

Apollo

as whats framed as Apollo finally becoming his own as a lawyer and the resolution of a three game arc. I like the idea of it being up against Phoenix. A lot in fact I love the civil trial and Athena and Apollo get to burn evidence heheheue but. god does it lack buildup. and it takes a lot of the punch out of it. As for Apollo in the criminal trial half of revolution you go little man ❤️ I also love Apollo and dhurkes relationship holy shit. Dhurke I’ve only truly known you for 5 minutes but GOD. they’ve got such a great dynamic and god the afternoon they spend in kurahin it’s.

Most faults I have with dhurke I find to be more of a problem I have with sojs writing than anything I felt the character is if that makes sense? Like that one comment about Apollo n Trucy and an issue I’ve seen people have that dhurke sent Apollo to the states but Nahyuta more just coming out from the fact that the writers are bending backwards here. I also love datz here datz my man truly one of the characters of all time I wish you got a better name buddy. datz

Phoenix

its. 3D games Phoenix. he’s there. I think I enjoyed him more as the opposition than as a playable characters in this case opposition Phoenix was fun! he was a bit of an ass but it isn’t passive agressive and he’s fuckin losing! When we are playing as Phoenix he’s screwing Apollo over in what seems like ignorance and it’s irratating And during the second revolution trial he’s just making one liners. also sorry Maya they’re retreading your farewell arc ❤️ I actually didn’t mind it it works out pretty well ^-^

Dhurke

ok I touched on dhurke a little on the Apollo section but man. I love dhurke. the twist that he was dead the whole time because he fell into the Defense Attorney Trap (in which every defense attorney shows the big bad that they have evidence they’re the big bad. Unfortunately for dhurke this time they had a gun) Is Really interesting and he’s just one of the stronger characters in this case

Nahyuta

WOOOO NAHYUTA GOT SIDELINED IN THIS CASE HAHAHA there is a connection between how much Nahyuta is allowed to talk in a case and how enjoyable it is MAN. I skipped over his confession to the murder I don’t know if there’s like. Life changing dialogue there but man. I think there had to be a stronger Nahyuta apollo connection in this game like really. like the line that apollo has a dragon and Phoenix burning inside of him good shit good shit. I do think Nahyuta can be salvaged as a character but it did not happen in this case that was a half assed redemption.

Rafya

GOD POOR RAYFA SHE she is going through it in this case her dad is dead and her mom is a bitch rayfa 🤝 apollo solving the truth during the rest of the game shes just a middle schooler with the hubris of a monarch and it’s great and you just see it all fall apart in this case rayfa 💔

Garan, Inga, and Amara

garana a shit monarch AND a shit mom unbelievable. I don’t know how much a prosecutor that can say they win at anytime really effects the stakes it’s just a general soj problem the stakes are too high so theres like no tension in that regard and your more just curious how the murder happened. Inga is just a mob boss (got the accent to back it too) but goddamit he’s better than garan in the sense that he’s shown to have loved rayfa. man. Amara. There’s a character thread there that I don’t think at all was intentional because I don’t have that much respect for sojs writers where I don’t think Amara ever wanted to rule. There’s a lot of moments where revealing she was alive would have prevented a lot of shit (tho. evil sister not the easiest) but also the fact that rayfa is the one to take over at the end. a lot of it can be hand waved as like monarchy semantics but I think reading is cooler so

Rest of WAA + edgeworth

hhhh I think they deserved better in the rest of the game but here in revolution I think they all had good roles. Trucy gets the best joke in the case. Edgeworth is used for his private jets. it’s all good this case really is more about Apollo.

Favorite moment: Any time he quotes classic literature like the HUGE nerd he is!! And the part where he was sick and fell asleep on Bruce…ALSO that freaking “YAAAAASSSS” in Robin war, a current fave, I love that dumb scene so freaking much asndububfer 

Idea for a story: IDK I’ve always had this little plunny idea of some little girl he rescues from something just kinda plays with his hair and paints his nails and he just totally rolls with it. Anything with Jason and kids. I mean. Look how well he handles Bizzarro??

Unpopular opinion: Unpopular to DC I really wish he could just hug it out with Bruce and be done with all the family drama.......

Favorite relationship: Platonic Jason with Tim has been a huge fave...Berba pointed out they’re BOTH huge nerds and kinda jocks too, so that’s fun! But also Jason with Damian. And Dick. And Bruce. Jason bonding with the batfam?? But also Jason bonding with Bizzarro was one of the cutest things...lookit this softie :P 

Favorite headcanon: That Jay is actually a redhead but dyed it upon adoption to hide his identity as robin! Also that he’s aro/ace. And that he has claustrophobia that flares up at inconvenient times due to the whole “waking up in a grave” thing...

First impression: Black spiderman? Cool! Never heard of him but he looks nice??

Impression now: LITERAL SUN/SON INTO THE COLLECTION YOU GO-- he deserved more hugs after all the crap he went through in Spiderverse :T I love him, he’s so sweet and funny and an artist!! :’’D

Favorite moment: LEAP OF FAITH!!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!!! but also the “who’s Morales” scene X’’’’’D I still think about that and laugh to this DAY

Idea for a story: I....really really like that Ballarino idea I’ve seen floating around...Miles in ballet would be so cool and funny!

Unpopular opinion: ....that first spiderman outfit was dumb and I know it’s the point but GOODNESS MILES X’’’’D makes it so much cooler when he gets his own!!

First impression: I saw ads/posts about “SIlksong” long before I started playing Hollow Knight, so I thought she was going to be the sweet, cool, older sister figure! What a pretty bug!

Impression now: SHE’S BEAT ME UP SO MANY TIMES I feel like she says “get gud” every time and I suffer;;;;; I still love her and she’s freaking awesome~ visiting her little spider village was...sad tho...

Favorite moment: So far, when she went back to save the little Knight from the avalanche!! ;7; character development...

Idea for a story: I’d...love to see her go back and visit her mother’s grave (I’m ASSUMING it was Herrah, yes??) but also I’d love a human modern AU of some sort, with Hollow and the Knight as siblings...

Unpopular opinion: the spider charm is super helpful but I feel really bad about wearing it while fighting her, because now the little spiderlings are fighting their princess to protect me ;;7;; *guilt* but otherwise I die...! 

Favorite relationship: I love that “big sister” vibe that only grows every time she interacts with the knight X’’D

Favorite character:  I love so many of them!!!  Obi-Wan Kenobi might win the overall title, because…he deserves it, and he is probably the one I have read the most fanfic for.  On the other hand, Luke, Han, and Leia are just!!! The OG team!!!  + dashing Lando of course.  I love Padme and Qui-Gon and Bail Organa.  All my clone children!  And I love all the characters from the sequel trilogy, particularly one messy disaster named Ben Solo, and ALSO THE WHOLE CREW FROM ROGUE ONE BUT ESPECIALLY CASSIAN ANDOR I WISH WE STILL TALKED ABOUT THESE GUYS

Character I find most attractive:  oof HOW DO I DECIDE?!  Han Solo obviously has a great face and a charm that is rakish and boyish and manly all at once…Cassian Andor is a soft man, like I mean his hair looks soft and I would love to run my hands through it and hug him and tell him everything will be ok…Obi-wan has beautiful eyes and Ewan McGregor’s smile…Ben Solo is Adam Driver and size-wise he should be intimidating but honestly I’m just like the bigger he is the more I want to hug him, also dark hair and dark eyes is MY TYPE sO MuCH…Finn is John Boyega which means he is simultaneously cute and extremely hot…also RotS Anakin before he went all darkside, like that hair and scar were cool let’s face it

A Random Thought:  my favorite Star Wars au is the one where Anakin becomes a caretaker/teacher of the Jedi Younglings, and he loves the kids so much and he is so caught up in his job that he either ignores or is endearingly blind to Palpatine’s seductions and as a result Palpatine never quite gets the Empire off the ground and the Jedi Order becomes a much better organization and everyone lives happily ever after

Unpopular opinion: Idk I mean Jar Jar is annoying but…I don’t hate him quite as much as some people do, or even dislike him as much as I used to…what can I say the creature has a good heart even if he is ridiculous, and I pity him for being manipulated by Palpatine to help authorize the use of the clone army, and some times I wonder if he ever regretted making that decisive vote in Padme’s name, and I doubt Emperor Palpatine let the Gungans lead peaceful happy lives after the Empire was born

Character I wish I could be: …I’ve always wanted to be a Jedi, one that would ignore the dumb decisions of the council and get criticized for it a lot, but I wouldn’t care because compassion and mercy are more important.  I would adopt all the younglings.  Or if I wasn’t allowed that, I would probably leave the Jedi Order and go off and start a new order, one for the lonely and lost and broken, one that promotes healing and family.  One that does not shrug its shoulders and say oh well your mother is a slave on a planet out of our jurisdiction, sorry you just have to give up on her, it’s not like with our magic powers we could easily break her out I mean
