I thought long and hard (and overthinking) trying to tie teen titans 03 to the batfam stuff in my AU. I really wanted to connect the other robins, Dick turning into nightwing, and the relationship with Bruce into this. so below are a combo of rough sketches and written out ideas mixed together bc i couldn't finish this without ripping my hair out. Originally I had it come right after season 5 ending with the weird alien thing (which is what bb and rae are referencing to) but..... anyways:

just FYI on changes already: Robin's look is more dan mora/og costume. I love Dick in the yellow cape (and i always associate the black cape to Tim so hehe) Like i said the alien WAS gonna be the main bad guy since this comic will also about things changing. but i got too overwhelmed reading up on what the alien was and it was a dimensional being and yadda yadda so it was bare bones and barely even brought up as i lost interest in drawing things out. yess bb jason!! In my AU, this is when dick and jason meet. Dick claims batman hasnt changed, but yet Dick keeps tabs on gotham to know about jason just as much as bruce is aware of the teen titans (and even tho Dick says "oh look, a replacement. the batman cant go without a robin". he knows that isn't really the case. he's just still hurting from their fall out. and NO he does not feel jealous or anything like that towards Jason.) I will say that's where the main drawings stopped. but the story continues! But mostly text bc drawing it out became tiring. So: they work together in an upcoming fight. Batman (and teen titans) call out to "robin" so there's funny miscommunication as which robin responds to what. Jason proves himself to Dick that he can be a robin. Bruce is his usual skeptical self and it drives Dick up a wall. Bruce eventually calls Dick out for being the same way though (altho this is more of egging on to push Dick to make some more changes. since bruce never wanted dick to be like him).

Dick: You don't know my teammates. Don't act like you do. Bruce: You're right. I don't know them. Nor do I trust them with my son. Dick: Why can't you trust MY judgement. Bruce goes back to working, ignoring the statement. And Dick comes to a realization to how Bruce shuts him out (like what he did to starfire earlier). This leads Dick to reveal his identity to his team because he DOES in fact trust them 100%. There's some closure from that and this would kinda be a turning point in terms of his angst/edgy phase as a robin. As he officially passes the mantle to Jason and where he becomes Nightwing.

How you met Jay: You met Jay during school.

It was a rainy day and you were walking to your school. You had grabbed your umbrella before going outside. So you didn't have to get wet by the rain.

As you were walking, you saw a blond-haired male. He looked like he was taking care of some little dogs and one big dog while having trouble holding his umbrella. You smiled at the sight that you saw and continued taking your walk to school.

Tho the blond hair male felt eyes on him. Then turned to see who was looking at him. He then saw a female with [hair color] walking away to the other side.

Jay felt confused but either way, he continued to do what he was doing. After he was done taking the dogs for a walk he went back to his place to leave them there.

Jay soon came out of his house and realized he was gonna be late for school. So he ran to school and forgot his umbrella so he was getting wet when he was going there.

(time skip time when Jay arrived at school)

When Jay entered the classroom, he noticed the same girl that had [Hair color] in the park. He then went to his desk where he sat. Which is right next to a window and just starts to look outside.

Y/n noticed the blond-haired male that she had seen earlier when she was walking to school. But then went back to her own business, using her phone.

Y/n felt bored and stopped using her phone. She then looks at Jay and decides that she wants to draw him. Since she thought Jay wasn't paying attention, she took out her pencil and notebook.

Y/n then starts sketching out Jay in her notebook. While she is doing that, she doesn't know that Jay noticed her doing something.

Jay was confused about what Y/n was doing but continued to stare outside the window. He noticed that it's gonna be raining all day today as the sky was gray and very dark but bad luck he had because he forgot his umbrella.

Y/n then finished drawing Jay, and she was happy with how it turned out to be. She then puts her things back in her bag.

(Another time skip to after school)

It was then after school, Y/n noticed that it was still running. She was happy because she enjoyed the rain and the aftersmell of it.

She then stops looking at the window outside and starts to walk away from the classroom. Y/n was then outside of the classroom and noticed that there weren't many students around. She would usually see a lot of students around, but then she thought that they maybe left early or just skipped school.

She then made it to where the exit was for the school until she noticed a blond-haired male again. Y/n takes notice that the male didn't bring an umbrella. She also realizes that was the male that she saw and was also drawing him in class.

She felt embarrassed but walked up to him.

"Hi there! What's your name?"

Y/n asked cheerfully at the blond-haired male.

"...."

Jay just stared back at her and didn't say anything as he always was quiet.

Y/n felt nervous and awkward when Jay didn't respond.

"Ummm... Uh, I noticed you didn't bring an umbrella. Wanna head with me?"

Y/n asked him, while she still tried to remain happy. While Jay just continued to stare at Y/n, then finally nodded his head to her.

"Okay! Let's head out!"

Y/n said cheerfully and dragged Jay with her. Until they made it outside. She then took out her umbrella from her bag and then opened it. Y/n then tried holding the umbrella but she was too short and couldn't cover for Jay.

She let a small giggle and then faced Jay.

"Um well that didn't work, could you grab it for the both of us?"

Y/n asked Jay, while Jay just nodded his head and took the umbrella for them. While their hands brushed a bit Jay didn't seem to notice while on the other hand, Y/n did and blushed a bit.

"Thank you!"

Y/n happily thanked Jay, and then Jay started walking while Y/n followed right next to him.

"Hmm, I like your hair"

Y/n said to Jay, and he then turned his head to look at Y/n. Jay just nodded his head while he gave a small smile to Y/n. She took that sign in a thank you way and smiled at herself for doing that.

She then felt her shoulder getting wet. So she went closer to Jay.

"Hope you don't mind me being a little close to you"

Y/n said and Jay just smiled at her. Y/n read the smile as a sign saying that he was fine with that. As they continued walking Y/n stopped walking and so did Jay.

"Well, this my stop"

Y/n gave a smile to Jay, while Jay nodded his head.

"Say, before I leave. Can I have your number?"

Y/n asked Jay, Jay was a little surprised but he gave a small smile and gave her his number. Y/n looked happy when Jay gave her his phone number.

"Thank you! See you next time!"

Y/n happily said to Jay. Jay was gonna give her umbrella back when she said.

"You keep it, you're gonna get wet if you don't take it"

Y/n said and then walked away, but then she got a text from Jay. She then opened the text.

"Thank you again, Jay! See you at school!"

Y/n turned to face Jay and gave him a smile while showing a thumbs-up to him. Jay just smiled at how funny Y/n was nodded at her and then walked away with her umbrella.

FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

ive had the idea of redrawing this for quite some month now so it was kinda already planned

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

So, this may be a loaded question, and I'm sorry about that. But I really want to know, do you have any plans on what to do after OW ends? Like, any new stories?

It is completely 100% okay if you don't, especially considering you have a lot of things going on in your life, and you aren't actively trying to monetize your games. However, I just want you to know that your games mean so, so much to me, and many other people.

Our Wonderland has become an immense comfort to me over the past few months, and everyday I look forward to any new content you or others may post. That's not an exaggeration. Seeing OW content is genuinely a highlight of my day.

I know it can't last forever, but with the finale being so close I must admit that I will miss the story greatly. I'll probably keep replaying it and thinking about it for months on end.

I apologize if it comes off that way, but I'm not trying to guilt trip you into making more content than you want/can handle. I just want to tell you my honest feelings about the game, and the impact it had on me.

I hope, whatever the case is, that you'll be happy with your decision and that things will go well for you. You have created a genuinely amazing and beautiful story, and you deserve all the praise for it.

i don't yet have any specific plans or ideas for once OW is finished. that's mostly because i never make future plans for anything LOL (i am scared of the future...). i do have random various ideas for potential things i could do once it's finished, but i would not be able to tell you when they would happen (or even 100% confirmed they would happen); they're more just like, little kernels of potential things sitting latent inside my head. these include:

The OW remaster, where I go back through and make some of the earlier arcs better and more polish/redo some of the art (this has the highest chance of happening)

Maybe another random OW side game at some point??? I know I'm already working on OC now LOL but I have so many random ideas for these characters in my head that I don't doubt I will suddenly get inspired to do yet another side game of some type, tho I don't know what that could be yet. I imagine it would be something of a different vibe than OC since I'm getting all my bittersweet-fluff-needs out now LOL

Game jams... I don't have any specific ideas for game jams but because they're always going on, there's always the chance I'll get a random little idea for one. Particularly when O2A2 rolls around again next year as it's such a good opportunity to work on something small and different. Or maybe next Spooktober (though I'd need a really good idea for that as I would feel a bit pressured to make sure it's good LOL)

A new project? I have an idea for one that's been tumbling around in my head for a while now that's more of a dark fantasy vibe. If I start to get the story for that a bit more developed in my mind I may eventually start working on it or at least start doing some sketches to help me better figure out the chars

those are all my current tumbling thoughts. but again because i hate planning or thinking about the future, they're all just kinda vague and none of them are 100% confirmed (even if the remaster is something i'm pretty sure i wanna do)

sob it really means so much hearing that you feel so strongly about OW though. just knowing that there are people out there who look forward to hearing about my chars brings me so much joy, especially since i think about them basically every second of every day LKDJLFAKDSFA they've really been my life for the last 2 1/2 years, to the point where it's hard to even think about not thinking about them or game dev in general. so really thank you so much for your support and for letting me know this as it's so sweet and kind! 💕

Hello! Sorry for replying to this so late!

Basically, the "fandom" as such or fanbase has been so small online, that to me I was not sure it existed even xD But yes! I am still a Jade fan :D Jade Armor is the best cartoon! It's not even that old to me, I just started watching it in the spring of 2023, when it started airing here again. So I've been a fan for just a year or so since march!

I'm curious where this question comes from!

Would be nice if there were more fans online, but honestly, I have always thought that maybe that's a monkey's paw wish - and that really, it's a bit nice exchange of fate in a way - that it seems that while the online fandom is small, perhaps the show has many offline fans, people actually watching it across multiple channels! (since it's available both on big channels like RTL, but also online in their online versions, maybe it just has many viewers from there)

and it's a fun show with a very cool style and premise, so I'm happy if it has fans at all, whether I actually see them online or not. So I haven't been very active in fandom spaces myself, mostly posting fanart online, because I just don't have time + energy as much for some fandom stuff anymore I guess xD

bc there's so few fancontent online, I really appreciate that the official jade armor insta has so much info and posts about it.

I've seen a lot of shows go under after it's been decided they're not profitable, or similarly, many fandoms sorta dwindle and become smaller after the show has been cancelled, so... it's nice to know that, if a 2nd season really has been put into production (as we've seen announced online), that the shareholders behind the show are willing to fund the studio to make another season. I'm really curious to see where they could be going with the story and characters, since the world and relationships they've shown feel really well-built, like they're real and there's history there. So I'm just happy to see if it will really be aired and that the team has put as much care and effort in as in the first season. I really like the show!

I might put up more fanart, since I've been doing sketches recently, but have been thinking of posting more fanfic too. The show should have at least one fanfic on AO3 (by me), but havent had time to finish more. I'm curious to see more but not really as sad about it since the fandom itself is still very new!

One thing I'd maybe like to personally change is like, make a small wikipedia for it? not on the current main fanwiki site, but just a small one for reference? and another thing is... the tvtropes page? TVtropes in general has so much misinfo sometimes since no one is obligated to keep refs and it's based on "fandom memory" haha... but it's so weird to me how much of the text there is ppl comparing Jade Armor to Miraculous, even tho they are such different shows after the first glance xD Seriously! you can make normal comparisons without letting ppl know how much you hate the other show xD

it's a similar situation to earlier fanbases like ppl comparing Winx vs WITCH, Jake Long vs Juniper Lee, The Book of Life vs Coco... it's as if online cartoon fans apparently just have nothing better to do than make their shows fight xD

UGHHHHHH. I stayed awake to finish my homework but now i can't sleep. So here some sketches and my work in progress comic lore because why not. I haven't posted my art in the past weeks or so

Before explaining,let me explain how my world work first. In this earth,there's a random place where there are a stronger rush of magnetic energy/magic. It act like air,every living being need it. But it was an everyday thing that they didn't really think it's a strange things. Everything that exist in this world can absolutely absorb magic and store it inside it their own way, but there are definitely some that are better at absorbing them. They're usually called overcharged item which usually be used at mage staff and etc but besides that

There's actually two kind of way approach objects at reproduction/existing really

1. The old fashion way.

When a flesh creature has perished, rotting and only leaving a bit of flesh and bone besides an overcharged item,it soul and dna will slowly goes to the overcharged item. This situation was described as ants carrier(i'm suck at name) since the creature feature will be dragged through the ground into overcharged object,connecting it to the item (like ant,duh) like gravity (idk how to describe it but bigger magi can attract small magic like how gravity work. I'm bad at describing this one sorry).

And after that,the sarcass would slowly be healed by the new rush of magic while it attaching itself into the item. Now,the environment play a hard role at this. From health,dna,how it look and such. This overcharged item basically slowly draining others magic since more features mean more place to absorb energy. Making the place really vital to the object growth. And after a long 5-12 hours,your object has now born! This prosejure was hard to do and easily fail due to climate. But anyone that was born this way was usually a strong and even immortal being that exist even until now.

Yeyyy holy shit i wrote a super long paragraph. Anyway

2.nowdays way!

Since bone and overcharged item are now a super rare item (and expensive) due to how many living things that exist nowdays. This was now a common way objects reproduce. This was possible to do for one object,but two or more objects are recommended since this prosejure can be quite draining. Firstly,the object parent need to choose what objects their child are (recommend to choose one that assemble/represent an aspects of them the most). For example,a coffee cup can choose a plastic cup. This was to make sure that your magic can be received by the said item. And magic to it for some months,then boom baby. Sorry this end is not that good my hands are suuupee tired rn :"D

They're gonna be super big and fluffy. Breed by the farmers on rocky beach right by coral reef so they cannot be eaten by predators. They photosynthesize and eat moss on rocks. Making them rarely move and extra fragile because of that.The leaf like part are (almost) going to be like otter furr. Trapping oxygen inside it leaf so once it goes back to water,it can absorb the oxygen it got earlier on the surface.So,depending on it sizes, it can breathe underwater from 8-20 hour is. It easy to harvest leaf and the added benefit of your own choral farm made this one of the main job of the blossomstone-becah side folks

I was sketching earlier just for funsies and…. It made me think. How do you think satosugu would feel with an artist!reader who uses them as drawing references teehee… like maybe you ask satoru to go fetch you ur workbook and he goes into ur room & gets confused and ends up stumbling upon your sketchbook…. And he’s like oh a little peek couldn’t hurt!!! And then he finds various drawings of him and sugu, and gets such a sappy fuzzy feeling in his heart because you captured all of their features perfectly, even down to the little details about their appearance that the average person wouldn’t really take note of :((( this could also work in different au’s tho… merman sugu perhaps? Maybe he’s having a little sleep on the nice cold bedroom floor and wakes up n sees reader in a baggy hoodie + sketchbook and colouring pencils/pens in hand admiring his tail and making sure they get every pretty colour right <333 or royalty au where satoru and suguru are royalty of some kind… reader is the kid of someone unimportant and they both stumble across reader’s art room while causing mischief one day and satoru decides then and there that you’re THEIR honorary artist and you will paint their portraits from now on whenever it’s necessary <33 he’s bratty but we love him. Back to canon jjk universe…. I’m thinking abt how it would be so much cuter if they had no idea reader was an artist like. Satoru jokingly takes what he assumes is ur diary and waves it around in the air so u can’t reach it…. Threatening to read it unless u give him a kiss (he wouldn’t actually read it but he wants his kiss leave him alone) and he accidentally drops it and it falls open on a page that’s just full of drawings of him and sugu with a few hearts dotted around and just so many sketches of them smiling… maybe little notes reader added about how pretty stsg are…. Satoru is sooo giddy and so teasing like he’s so honoured u think he’s pretty enough to DRAW and sugu is just as flustered but he hides it a lil better…. :3 Sorry I’m actually going insane right now SEDATE MEEEEE EYGEHEHUJJEURHUHH 😭😭 I hope ur doing well tho !!!! yea it’s been a while :]] but he’s back; you may not have seen him as of recently but i’ve been working on him behind the scene (aka lore dumping on whoever would listen lol)

it’s mostly coz i didn’t know what to draw of him, didn’t have any inspiration, and his face turns out good once in a blue moon but let’s not talk about that dhdhdh

but earlier this month i had a ✨ vision ✨ of him in a suit and we’re here now 😮‍💨

a huge project i’ve been working on since the beginning of december (or maybe since last week of november even); so i don’t wanna show too much before it’s finished 🤫

you could see a bit more in my 2023 art summary (mostly just Dion sitting there in all his glory) but there’s still a bit more. it’s a first proper illustration with a full background for me so the work is going slow

still need to fix a perspective on one thing, perhaps redraw Dion’s face, coz i’ve been experimenting with that; but the lineart is pretty much all done. all it needs is to pick a color scheme, block out colors and start shading (the worst part arguably)

very proud of this one and i’m excited to finish it and show the whole thing 🥺🥺

Heya, sorry for the bit of silence during the week. Also, that last post with the art was scheduled to post so its been about a week for me since I've been on here. (Honestly forgot I even scheduled it in the first place)

Pretty much. I've been busy. Of course, everyone is always busy, but still. I've got a few things going on irl (nothing really negative, but just time consuming y'know) and I've also been caught up in moderating the Club Rouge Magazine. So I've got my hands pretty full. 😅

I assure you I haven't forgotten or abandoned anything, I would make a formal announcement if I was. I'm just prioritizing different things :p

So with that, I will also be going on a trip with my family for the entirety of next week, so I probably won't be online much then as well. But I'll work on things behind the scenes whenever I can.

I aim to have the last two chapters of Supernova posted before that trip. I hope I can post both tomorrow but no promises.

Gonna list things I'm working on roughly by priority and I'll also include completion status for anyone curious. I'm not including any irl stuff tho

1. Club Rouge Magazine

-Can't really state a completion status since it's a long-term ongoing event shrugs. I'm the social media and writing mod.

2. Supernova

-Since it was written for the big bang, it's completely finished. But ao3 gets funky so posting a single chapter can take a pretty long time and my executives sure are dysfunctioning. This is me now realizing that maybe I should post on other sites hmm. As stated earlier, the last two chapters shall be posted tomorrow! (Or the day after by the latest)

3. Art Fight/Mutals PFP

I finally finished the rest of the bg after saying NOO I WON'T DETAIL IT IT'LL JUST BE DARK... SPENDS 2ISH HOURS IN DETAILS. EVEN THE STAIRS ONE PLANE OF THEM STILL TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO DO I SWEAR THIS DRAWING WILL KILL ME. I DONT EVEN LIKE HOW I DREW HIGH ROLLER ON IT ANYMORE but I hid her on a layer outside of this

I still have some details to get to in the new wallpaper, and unscrunch the dice a bit

I took the texture and layered it over my drawing so that it makes sense, and then I traced over it with my colors and then added shading according to the reference texture

Still some stuff to add tho

Then.. It's done..! I move to shading high roller but probably in a slightly more cel style mostly relying on layer effects like the rest of the background? Then I can get to the main multiply layers to darken things, drawing the light and adjusting the colors to make it look cooler and make hr in the light

And add texture overlays, possibly...? Then save several versions since I want a bg no hr version for future use. And a version without the shading and shadows and the light WITH High Roller

Yea shits wack srsly my biggest piece I've done aside that chol drawing but even that had more simplifications

My current biggest issue with it is how I drew high roller. He looks off and wrong and I struggled with drawing the legs and getting the skegch done, I wasn't having a good time sketching that day and did my sketching type when I'M DESPERATE AND ART BLOCKY AND HAVING A HARD TIME and it SHOWS and I didn't know how to draw the legs and pose right necause I CANT DRAW LEEEEGSSSS LIKE THAT OR ANYTHING AHH and idk MAN I'm. Tempted to redraw hr but I'm. ALREADY OVER DETAILING THIS. ITD TAKE EVEN LONGER. AAHHHH

I'm at this point having a mentality of just showing off and like I ALREADY OVER DETAILED THST PART LET'S KEEP IT UP I GUESS idfk I can't be stopped I'm so mad

watched joseph the dreamer with ate bea since she had it playing on the tv. idk why it made me feel anxious at some point, i was just getting stressed for joseph's character even though i know how this bible story actually goes LMAO

ate the rest of last night's leftover palabok and siomai YUMMY!

pretty slow afternoon, i felt like drawing so i began doodling type ideas. i was supposed to do my 36dot sketches, but i ended up intuitively creating a custom script lettering for "lovers" i REALLYYYY love it, i enjoyed doing it so much!! i think i got better at weight setting and understanding the ebbs and flows of script curves in type, i felt really inspired and impassioned

i shared on my ig story, that while making the letterforms, i was listening to soft, lucid love songs that reminded me of ocean waves, how affection feels like tides pushing and pulling, kissing and clinging onto the shore, and the sand always knowing that the waters will come back again and again... which inspired the swirls and repeating motifs in my work :] <333 sickly sweet and always the same. that is the lovers for me ~

my back ached inking it in real time tho OOP got me dizzy too since i kept holding my breath while doing the curves HELP

had dinner, which was nilaga YUMMERZZZZ

Chapter Two: The Junkyard

Summary: After getting a worrying call from Billy, you take it upon yourself to follow Max and Lucas to the junkyard where you stumble upon a town secret involving your old friend/nemesis Steve. (2.6k words)

Author’s Note: This one’s kind of a Fem!Reader x Steve Harrington fic, but mostly just the reader’s introduction to The Upside Down (It does include a protective Steve, tho!). The next few chapters will mostly be about Steve since it’s the plot of season 2, but Eddie will definitely be back don’t worry! Warnings: Just swearing, creepy demogorgon stuff and a near death experience.

November 4th, 1984

Steve Harrington was an asshole. A Grade A, yuppie wannabe piece of shit.

Yet here he was, shielding your body with his as he clutched a baseball bat with nails sticking out of it, promising you that you weren’t going to die.

Earlier that evening, you were sketching in your room with your headphones on. Usually, drawing helped keep your mind off of things, but you were finding it hard to get away from your nagging thoughts. This was probably due to your anxiety about facing Eddie in the morning. 

You were so deep in concentration that you hadn’t noticed your mother waving her arms wildly as she tried to get your attention. You lowered your headphones so you could hear her tell you that somebody was calling you on the phone downstairs. 

“Hello?” You said into the phone after you raced downstairs and your mother handed it off to you. You were surprised that someone was calling you on a Sunday evening. Actually, you were surprised that somebody was calling you at all.  

“Yeah, this is Billy. Do you happen to know where my brat of a step-sister is?”

“Max?”

You could hear his eye roll through the phone.

“Yes. Max.”

“No, why?”

“You hang out with her, right? Do you know where she might be?”

You fought the urge to rebuke that comment. You didn’t necessarily “hang out” with her. But you couldn’t deny that you had developed a bit of a friendship, especially after your heart-to-heart with her in the McDonald’s parking lot. Okay... so maybe it was a little bit true.

“Is she in danger Billy?” 

“She’s definitely about to be. Look, do you know where she is or not?”

You didn’t like the sound of that. You did have a few ideas about where she may be, but you knew better than to tell Billy anything. 

“No, I’m sorry. I don’t. But will you let me know if you -”

He hung up before you could finish your sentence, and you stared at the phone in disgust before you slammed it back down on the receiver. Billy was the biggest dick you had ever met, and the way he always insisted on torturing Max was vile. You remembered your goal to keep him away from her. You weren’t about to quit now. 

You grabbed your jacket and called out weakly to your parents to ask if you could borrow the car, not actually wanting to get their attention. You decided to take the silence as a yes and deal with the consequences later. 

Then, as you were about to get into your car, you saw Max hanging on to Lucas Sinclair as they rode his bicycle down the street. 

You scoffed and paused for a moment as you processed this, watching them ride carelessly past you. You knew she was safe now, but had a nagging feeling that you should probably follow her anyways in case Billy did find her. Who knew what would happen if he did? Especially now that Lucas was involved. 

“Shit,” you muttered and got into your car. Following around a couple of kids on a bicycle was definitely not in your weekend plans. 

You followed them as closely as possible until they veered off the road towards the old junkyard. You muttered another expletive to yourself and parked your car on the side of the road. 

You figured it was okay now to give them some space. You would be able to see Billy approaching from the road. But as time went on and the sun started to go down, you began to feel more and more antsy. 

What the hell were they doing? You hoped to god that they weren’t making out or something. If so, then you felt like a major creep. But when you heard a strange, animalistic roar coming from the direction of the junkyard, you started to panic. Before you even knew what you were doing, you jumped out of the car and ran towards the sound. 

You called out Lucas and Max’s names, but when you made it to the junkyard, you saw Steve Harrington instead. He was wielding a baseball bat with giant nails sticking out of it.

“Y/N? What are you doing here?” He asked in confusion, lowering his bat slightly. You were kinda surprised that he remembered your name. 

“Steve Harrington?” You called in complete disbelief at what you were seeing. For some reason, it didn’t feel right only calling him by his first name. “What the fuck is going on?”

He didn’t respond. He just lurched towards you and pulled you behind him when another chittering sound came from the trees. 

“What the hell are you doing? What was that?!” You squeaked. Everything about this was completely batshit. You almost thought you were hallucinating. 

“Just don’t move!” He demanded. 

You snapped your head towards the abandoned school bus behind you when you thought you saw movement. Max and Dustin Henderson were peeking out from some wire that had been haphazardly nailed to the windows. Max had a confused and terrified look on her face as she recognized you, and you wanted to go to her immediately, but you remembered Steve’s warning not to move. You had no idea what was going on and absolutely no reason to trust him, but the way he had grabbed you to shield you made you feel like you should. You were sure he wouldn’t be protecting you unless there was a very good reason for it. 

“Steve! Watch out!” You heard a voice scream from the roof of the bus. You realized that it was Lucas. 

“Little busy here!” Steve snapped back at him.

“Three o’clock! Three o’clock!”

You turned back towards the direction Lucas had called out and almost fell to the ground from what you were faced with. 

It was a horrific looking creature that stood on four legs. Your brain tried to rationalize it, but came up short. There was nothing on planet earth that looked the way that thing did. It didn’t even have a face, just a mouth with rows and rows of teeth surrounding it. 

You stumbled backwards and Steve caught you with an arm behind his back, pressing you into him. 

“Steve, seriously, what the fuck is that?!” You pleaded as quietly as you could muster. You wanted to scream but did your very best to hold it in. “Oh my god, we’re gonna die, we’re gonna die,” You kept repeating. 

“Just stay calm, alright? We’re not going to die. I got you.”

Even though he sounded just as terrified as you when he said this, there was something about his arm holding you steady that made you believe it. Your fists were gripping the back of his jacket with desperation, your breath becoming shallower by the minute. Then three more of the creatures appeared from the shadows and you were sure that it would only be a matter of time before you passed out. 

“Steve! Abort! Abort!” Dustin called, now at the door of the bus.

Steve turned his head slightly towards you and whispered, “Run.”

You froze, terrified, and he repeated it again louder to snap you out of your horror. After the second time, you obeyed him, stumbling on your feet as you bolted towards the bus. You could hear the sounds of a fight as you ran, but didn’t dare turn and watch. If Steve was about to die, you really didn’t want to bear witness. 

You made it to the bus and fell to the floor as the kids gestured wildly for Steve to join you. By some miracle, he made it and fell down beside you. Then without hesitation he slammed the door shut and pressed a large sheet of metal against it with his feet to try to keep the creatures out.

“They can’t get in! They can’t!” Lucas shouted, but it sounded more like a desperate question than a pronouncement. 

As if to answer him, one of the monsters ripped through the metal and the kids were pulling you with them towards the back of the bus. 

Steve was hitting it wildly with his bat as you watched in terror. Dustin tried to get a hold of somebody on his walkie talkie for help, and then a pair of claws suddenly pierced through the wall behind you. You screamed and fell backwards as Dustin shouted into the walkie that you were all gonna die. You believed it wholeheartedly now.

An eerie silence suddenly fell over everyone as the roof of the bus began to give way from the steps of one of the beasts. You all gazed up at the open emergency exit as it slowly came into view. It was the closest look you had gotten of it yet, and if you weren’t sure it was something straight out of a nightmare before, you were certain now. 

Max was closest to it and began to scream. You pulled her away from it by her jacket and wrapped your arms around her shoulders in a last-ditch effort to protect her. 

Steve rushed forward and yelled for all of you to get out of the way, then wielded his bat at the monster as its head split open to show all of its teeth. He dared it to come and get some, and just when you were certain you were about to watch him get eaten alive, the creature seemed to be distracted by something off in the distance and retreated.  

Everyone was silent as you all waited and listened. You let go of Max and slumped down to the floor as Steve and the kids left the bus to make sure the coast was actually clear. You stared into space as they spoke to each other, still trying to process what had happened.

A few hours ago, you were in your bedroom drawing alone. Now you were in a rusted out school bus with a bunch of kids and Steve Harrington after almost being eaten alive by monsters from hell. 

You flinched when you felt a hand rest gently on your shoulder. 

“Sorry…” Steve said with a grimace as he quickly pulled his hand away. “Are you okay?”

You looked up at him, then saw the kids standing behind him. They seemed to be handling the near death experience remarkably well. Certainly much better than you, anyways. You were slightly embarrassed by this, and also worried that your fear might rub off on them. 

Steve turned and looked at them too, then asked them if they could give the two of you a minute alone. They obeyed and went to the front of the bus to sit by the door. 

“Hey, listen. I know this shit is crazy. Believe me. I was put in this exact position last year. You’re not alone, okay? We’re all freaked out. But we have to go now.”

You nodded but still didn’t move. 

“How did you get here?” He asked. 

“I… drove,” You responded shakily.

“Okay. Do you think you’ll be good to drive home? We can walk you to your car.”

You stared at him. There was no way you wanted to be alone tonight. The idea of sitting in your room and trying to sleep after what you had just witnessed made you sick to your stomach. Besides, you came here for Max, and there was no way you were going to abandon her now. 

“I’m not leaving,” You said. 

“Y/N… don’t try to be a hero, alright? We’ve got a long night ahead of us and you don’t know what’s going on. You stumbled into this. Nobody would blame you for walking away right now.”

“I’m not leaving,” You repeated defiantly. “I came here to look out for Max, and I’m certainly not going to leave her and the rest of these kids alone with you now that I know there are freaky faceless monsters running around trying to eat everybody. Okay? End of discussion.”

He seemed impressed by your determination, but the truth was that you really didn’t have any other option but to join whatever quest they were about to go on. There was no way you would be able to move on from this unless you faced it head on. You needed answers.

He stood up and extended a hand, and you reluctantly took it and let him help you off the floor of the bus. 

“Alright,” He said with a sigh. “Let’s go, then. We’ll do our best to explain on the way.”

“So, you stalked me?” Max asked with a laugh after you explained what you were doing at the junkyard. You were all following the railroad tracks out of the woods.  

“Maybe just a little. I wasn’t planning on actually intervening unless Billy showed up. But then I heard those… things. Demogorgons. Demodogs? Whatever.”

Everyone had done their best to explain the situation to you, but you were having trouble fully wrapping your mind around it. All you really understood was that those monsters were what the government scientists at the lab were trying to cover up, and they had something to do with Will’s disappearance. Apparently Lucas had filled Max in earlier that day, but she hadn’t actually believed him until after what she had just witnessed. You were sort of glad that you weren’t the only one who was new to all of this. 

Dustin, Steve and Lucas were arguing about something as you were talking to Max, and you tuned back in to listen to them. Apparently, Dustin had found a tiny little critter in his trash cans and called him Dart, and it turned out that Dart had actually been a baby version of a demogorgon. It also turned out that Dustin finally realized this when he found Dart munching on his cat, Mews. Your face twisted in horror when Steve forced him to admit this, and Lucas seemed angry that Dustin tried to hide it. They started yelling at each other as you, Steve, and Max watched on helplessly. 

“Guys, who cares? We have to go!” Max tried to interrupt, but it didn’t work. 

“I care! You put the party in jeopardy! You broke the rule of law!” Lucas screamed.

“So did you! You told a stranger the truth!” Dustin defended himself, shining his flashlight straight into Max’s eyes to indicate that she was she stranger he was talking about. 

“A stranger?” Max scoffed, clearly offended by this. 

“You wanted to tell her, too!” Lucas continued, ignoring her. 

“But I didn’t, Lucas, okay? I didn’t tell her!”

Steve gave you a look that said, ‘Do you see what I have to deal with?’ As they continued to scream at each other. You smiled back at him apologetically and almost said something, but you were interrupted by loud screeching in the distance. 

You watched Steve with wide eyes as he walked off towards the trees, his flashlight guiding his investigation. 

“Hey guys?” He called, trying to get the boys to stop arguing and focus on the task at hand. When they didn’t stop, he turned around and yelled it louder. 

They all jumped and went quiet, then immediately tuned into the sounds of the demogorgons. Dustin and Lucas followed Steve further into the trees as you and Max watched.

“No, no, no. Hey, guys, why are you headed towards the sound? Hello?!” Max called after them, then muttered an expletive and turned to look at you with an exasperated expression.

You shrugged back at her and gave a sympathetic smile.

“Well, do we follow them into Mordor or bail now? It’s your call, Mad Max. I’ll follow your lead.”

After giving this some thought, she let out an exaggerated sigh and silently decided to go after the boys. As promised, you followed closely behind her. 

You had no idea what the rest of the night would entail, but from there on out, you knew that there would be no turning back.

He probably doesn’t even see it at first, not until he sees you at the table with a sheet full of your month expenses and your fingers moving up and down while you look down at the scribbled numbers.

If he cares, he sure doesn’t show it. He’ll just look at you from the doorway and maybe tilt his head before walking away. If you do that again though, he’ll stare at you and wait until you notice him before he walks over and finally understands that you’re just counting, which makes him almost facepalm.

I don’t think he ever did it, and he never will.

Jason Voorheese

The first time he’ll see you counting will probably make him smile as you’re looking at the ceiling, your lips moving a little as you put your fingers up then back down.

He did that when he was a kid and still does it sometimes, but only rarely though! So he understands how it can help you and will only smile whenever he sees you doing that. He finds it so cute coming from you! He’s happy he isn’t the only one who did and does that.

He’ll be less self conscious to do that because you do it.

Charles Lee Ray/Chucky

He’ll laugh when he sees you focused on something and moving your fingers, a shit-eating grin on his face. “What tf are you doing?”

If he startles you he’ll laugh even more as you try to explain it helps you counting. He’ll then tease you about it, seeming like a big meany, when he‘s just really curious ,even if he would never dare admit it.

When you see him at the kitchen table trying to count while moving his fingers, don’t tell him you saw. He’s got too much pride to be caught doing something so “stupid” like he told you when he saw you at first.

Tiffany Valentine

You’ll probably laugh at how big her smile will become when she sees you. She’ll probably squeal like a fangirl too.

What can she say? It’s so cute! So whenever she sees you, she’ll hug you from behind and if she sees that you lost your count, she’ll feel guilty and help you count back, trying the trick with her fingers.

If we’re talking about your concentrated face as you do that, oh boyy.. She will stare at you with a smile on her face, but will look away when you’re about to catch her. She’ll try it behind your back one time, but won’t really do it after.

Brahms Heelshire

He’s really happy when he sees you doing it. You count on your fingers?! He does that too!

He’ll help you if you need some help and will compliment you and tell you about how you’re twinsies for doing that.

Everything you do is cute (y/n)... So be prepared for him to be amazed by your cuteness, even if like I said multiples times earlier, he does that too.

He’s pretty childish though, so he might tease you when he’s feeling like it. Don’t hesitate to tell him if he offends you or if he’s being a brat, he’ll immediately stop.

If you’re too concentrated, he WILL try to make you pay more attention to him.

Freddy Krueger

Wanna talk about teasing? He’s going to tease the HELL out of you when he sees you. He’ll act confused, even a little disgusted as he call out your childish behaviour, but it’s all obviously a big joke to him.

If you’re offended, he’ll just laugh in your face and roll his eyes, smirking if you frown or become mad at him.

He’ll be so smug as he looks at you deep in thoughts, your fingers moving as you try to keep count of whatever you’re counting, before he scares the bejesus outta you.

He’ll probably try it once and like it, which will result in him doing it without you noticing.

Thomas Hewitt

If he comes up and sees you sitting at the table, your fingers moving up and down as you’re trying to count whatever you’re counting, he’ll be curious.

He knows you’re counting, he just didn’t thought you would do it like that! When he was younger, he used to do that to help himself too.

He’ll probably sit and watch you for some time, a small smile on his face. If he distracts you, he’ll feel so sorry! He’ll fidget and probably get up to get back down, but if you stop him he’ll stay reluctantly.

Bubba Sawyer

What?? What are you doing??

He’s clueless at first and only watches, his eyes following the movement of your fingers before they stray to your concentrated face as he tries to be quiet.

Lots of happy noises and cute babbles when you tell him it’s to help you count. He never really had to count, but he did it sometimes too! He definitely will always do that now<3

If his brothers make fun of it, he won’t hesitate to let them know his mind with the threat of a hammer.

Nubbins Sawyer (since I count him as a slasher)

When he sees you, he’ll tilt his head and come closer, sitting beside you and trying to keep silent to not make you loose your counting.

He can take the guess that you’re counting, he probably knows it, but he finds it cute that you do it with your fingers.

He’ll probably goofs about it, doing the same as you do whenever he needs to count, even if it’s to count to three.

Prepare yourself for some camera flashes! He will shamelessly try to capture you in pictures and put them on his wall, and he’ll talk about it like it’s normal if you ask him hehe

Chop Top Sawyer

He’s like his twin, but even more goofier.

But he’s a nuisance too.

When he sees you counting, he won’t even think about it and make you loose your count, then he will apologies and try to hug you even if you don’t want to. He feels bad!

Definitely trying, though. More to make you laugh and joke than to really count <3

As soon as his eyes land on you, a grin will escape him.

He’ll definitely distract you, chuckling if you become mad. But he’ll tickle you to make you forget about it! Even if you’re not ticklish.

He might cuddle for some time with you if you’re mad enough, reluctantly as he would seem grumpy.

She’ll be the normal one probably, smiling if she sees you at first.

She’ll let you do it, and might even try it if you feel insecure about that^^

A deep chuckle will escape him when he sees you sitting, your fingers moving as you look deep in thoughts. He might even try to capture this moment with a little sketch!

He’ll look at you lovingly as you pout your lips as they move, your brows furrowing as you finish counting.

If you’re not finished and you see him, he’ll only shake his head and murmur a “don’t mind me” with one of his charming smiles.

He’ll try counting on his fingers if it makes you happy!

Super confused at first, until he hears you mumbling some numbers.

After that, he finds it really cute like most of the slashers <3 he’ll definitely tease you about it with some purrs in between, just to make you loose what you were counting and pay attention to him. He might feel a little left out if you take too long.

You want some help? He’ll just pop up randomly and start counting with you, a little smirk as he counts on his fingers too.

Jig Saw/John Kramer

He’ll chuckle at first, seeing you so concentrated with your back to him.

He’ll watch you for some time, but he’ll sit beside you and probably will help you if you need some help.

She’ll just smile when sees you, walking back towards what she’s doing if she’s doing anything. If not, she’ll just watch you and wait for you to finish.

She’ll make some comments here and then, but she isn’t mean about it.

Billy will be more chill about it, but Stu will try not to giggle to loud as he stops him in the doorway, his hands on his face.

i forgot it was april fools lol. i definitly did not end up sprinkling in a bunch of memes in there, nope, not at all.

I havent checked my dashboard until a few minutes earlier, but now im booping everyone i find in there, its just so damm fun! its kinda sad that its just for april fools, i wish the booping stayed forever like its way too silly i love it.

Oh yeah the drawing yep aight. So uh, i had the idea yesterday and this looks NOTHING like what i had planned, it was just going to be a plain white backgroung, and i was trying to make it look like a pencil sketch (kinda). and simple coloring. but i had a lot of problems and drawing this ended up being really frustrating but im kinda happy with the result even if it difers so much from the og idea.

i tend to change my idea as im drawing so after i realized this was not going to look like i thought, i tried some effects and i came up with the idea of making it look...off.

Backgrounf with saturated colors consisting of red and blue and a fecto elfilis who looks rather dreamy, wich is totally not kinda inspired by isolated isles and high school musical 2 believe it or not (im confused as to how that was present in my mind as inspiration but i guess anything works as a reference) and contrasting with the darker background from how light and glowy i made him.

Fun fact: when i drew elfilis here, they were reminding me of a bunny, so you could kinda count this as a bit of an easter post since im probably going to forget to do something for that.

fun fact 2: this image is based on a fanfic im writing right now, i havent posted it yet, and when i do im pretty sure i'll put it into the Anonymous collection, since what im writing is very different from my usual, i tend to write about my splatoon ocs or sometimes about kirby characters, most of these fics tend to be general with not a lot of archieve warnings and stuff (save for one but that one was very very tame and just had an implication of a character dying at the end) and they're oneshots, most of them, this one is also a oneshot. i just enjoy writing that, but its a little bit....how to say it? bloody, i just have like the start made and its probably going to take me a while to finish, im also thinking of reading it multiple times since most of my works are usually just the first draft. but uh since its quite different and has that im quite scared of the reception it might have when i post it, in fact a lot of times i dont post stuff since even tho i know i shouldnt worry about others, i still do like an idiot, i just cant help caring about what other people think of me. and yeah basically its just not like the usual fluff i write.

next post might be splatoon related since im redesigning some ocs i had, or it might be princess peach showtime because my father got me the game and im loving it
