All day, the silence in the house seemed to echo with Minho's absence, each tick of the clock stretching the worry tighter across your mind. The morning had started off on the wrong foot, with Minho oversleeping- a rare occurrence which in turn threw off his whole routine. The rushed breakfast, the hasty goodbye—everything felt off-kilter. It was unlike him to be late, especially for his job at the veterinary clinic, a place he often described as his second home, where he could merge his passion for animals with his skills in care and healing. The hurried departure left a cold space in the wake of his frantic energy.

The argument from the night before added layers to your concern. It was one of those disagreements that seemed trivial in the light of day, yet in the shadow of the night, it had grown into a monumental barrier between you two. It wasn't just the words exchanged or the silence that followed, but the unresolved tension that lingered, making the air heavy with unsaid apologies and unexpressed affections. The fact that Minho had been irritable even before the argument didn't help, it only amplified the discomfort, casting a shadow over his usual bright demeanor.

As the day dragged on, you found yourself glancing at the clock, counting the hours until Minho's return. The thought of him dealing with the stress of work on top of everything else weighed heavily on you as guilt settled in. It wasn't just the worry for his mental state, but also the longing for reconciliation. You knew the importance of mending the rift, of clearing the air with conversations that bridged the gap between hurt and healing. The thought of him walking through the door, the opportunity to start anew, to offer a smile as a peace offering, became a beacon of hope in the slow march of the day. But as you continue to relive the argument you can’t help the pang of sorrow that strikes your heart like lighting, complimenting the storm of emotions whirling about your being. 

The dispute sparked when you casually asked him about his day. To you, it was a simple question, but Minho perceived it as intrusive, deeming you "too clingy" and expressing his exhaustion with what he viewed as your constant nagging.Since then you’ve been running yourself into the ground trying to get as much stuff around the house as you can. If Minho comes home to a clean house, you think, then there’ll be one less reason for him to be irritated with you. 

The sound of keys jingling faintly outside the door interrupts your thoughts. You had just finished cooking dinner and were plating it just in time as Minho to strolls in. 

“Mm,“ he hums in approval as he wraps his long arms around your waist, gently tugging your back to his front. He rests his chin on your shoulder as he speaks, “Smells good, baby. Thank you.” You hum and nod, not sure what to do. He was just complaining about you being clingy but here he is, swaying you side-to-side. Minho clearly sensed your apprehension and pulled back with a sigh. “Why am I getting the silent treatment?” 

You aren’t sure how to respond to that. You weren’t purposefully trying to ignore him, you’re just confused and you don’t know how to voice that. “I’m not giving you the silent treatment,” you turn around towards him and lean back against the kitchen island, using your hands to brace yourself.

Minho hums and folds his arms over his chest. He raises a brow, wanting you to continue. You huff and tip your head back for a moment before looking directly at him. “I’m sorry, I just don’t want to come off too clingy.” Your tone came off a little harsher than you’d planned and you watch as his expression shifts into something more serious, guilty even.

“Shit, baby I- I didn’t mean it, you know that. I shouldn’t have said it and-” You shake your head, effectively cutting him off. 

“It’s fine, I’m fine. It’s just-” 

His eyes begin to soften as he inches back into your space. “Hey. Hey,” Minho murmurs as his hands find purchase on your shoulders in an attempt to provide at least some semblance of comfort. He’s always been the type to have some sort of contact when talking to you like this. It makes it feel more personal, more sincere, especially when he ends up apologizing. “Don’t do that, you know I hate it. I’m the one who should be sorry, okay? I’m sorry, I was just stressed and I know that isn’t an excuse.”

“I shouldn’t have pushed you, I made you upset.” 

Minho shakes his head. “I want you to ask about my day, I want you to show that you care. It makes me feel important. You make me feel important.” You pull your lip in between your teeth, a nervous habit you picked up as a child. 

"Are you sure? Because I will-" Minho clicks his tongue and leans his forehead against yours, his brown eyes sparkling.

"I never want you to feel insecure about anything I say, regardless of what it is. I understand I can be hot-headed, and I'm working to fix that, but I want you- I need you- to tell me when I’m doing something that’s upsetting you. I love you and I promise you I didn’t mean any of it.” He presses a soft, chaste kiss on the tip of your nose with a smile. The action makes your stomach erupt with butterflies and you know everything will be okay. You’ll always bounce back and find your way back to each other. 

Minho looks down and locks his pinkys around yours before looking back up at you. “You okay now?” You nod and lean against him further with a content sigh. 

“I love you too, Min.” Minho begins to open his mouth to say something but you beat him to it. 

“Even if you’re a dick sometimes.” You say with amusement laced in your tone and a grin.

“I guess I’m lucky you put up with me then.” 

“Now you’re getting it,”

Idk if this is any good, but I've had this idea where after Sebastian killed Solomon, Anne moved to London in with the reader. The reader hears all about the trios adventures together before Anne was cursed and loves hearing about it. When Anne is ready to reconnect with Sebastian, the reader goes with her and chemistry begins to boil there maybe as Sebastian and Anne want privacy to talk, and the reader hounds Ominis for more stories.

As Anne paced the floor of their London flat, Y/N was reminded how similar she and her twin truly were. She had seen Sebastian pace in the Undercroft many times during her fifth year--now, as the summer before her sixth year drew to a close, she could hardly count the amount of times Anne had done the same.

"Anne, you're going to wear yourself out before they even arrive," Y/N said imploringly. "Come on, sit down."

The brunette sighed, but continued pacing. "I can't help it. Am I sure I'm ready for this?"

"Will you ever be?"

Anne chuckled. "Probably not. I... I have missed them, rather terribly."

Y/N gave a small smile. She had missed her friends, too. Perhaps one especially... but she would see him soon enough. Anne had told her countless tales of their old adventures from before she had been cursed. It had seemed to comfort her to reminisce on the good times---and Y/N, by her part, was absolutely enthralled in the stories she shared.

It was through these stories she learned that Anne had a real knack for picking pockets---"Never to steal or keep anything for my own," Anne had been quick to clarify. "Just to mess with people." And mess with people she had---hiding wands and pocket watches to drive others mad, while she and her companions watched on in amusement. The targets always deserved it, she assured Y/N. Common ones included Leander or Imelda; they'd even managed to hide her broom once, levitating it high above the Quidditch pitch so she had to use one of the rickety school brooms to retrieve it. She'd complained the whole way up and down, threatening every person she saw that if they had any idea who had messed with her broom, they'd better tell her or they'd get a wand up their arse. Somehow, they'd never been found out.

Sebastian, as she had more or less expected, had always pushed the limits. He'd been familiar with the restricted section since his first year, determined to learn every outlawed hex he could get his hands on. When occasion called for it, he'd use them, mostly on older Slytherin students who got on his nerves. He'd usually get away with it, too; that was the power of having an ally like Ominis on their side.

And Ominis---well, Y/N would be lying if she didn't admit that it was any tale involving him that intrigued her the most. Compared to Sebastian, her friendship with the Gaunt boy was slower coming. Because of this, she savored every opportunity to get to know him better, even if just through stories. The image of him slyly breaking rules made her all the more curious about him---of course she knew he was a trouble maker; he just seemed to do it in a sort of style neither Anne nor Sebastian could achieve. Apparently he had a way with nonverbal spells the others hadn't yet ben able to master. With his blindness, he was the image of innocence, able to cast spells left and right without anyone suspecting him. It had led to plenty of lovely stories that Y/N could only dream to witness.

There was one other fact about the boy that she couldn't wait to question him about.

The thought that he would be there soon sent a flutter through her stomach. If she was honest with herself--which she tended to avoid when it came to this topic--she was a bit more fond of Ominis than she probably should have been. There was something different about him, something she didn't feel when Sebastian was around. It frightened her, but excited her all the same. The more she thought about his beautiful eyes, his well-kept hair, his lovely lips---well, maybe she should join Anne in her anxious pacing.

She didn't get the chance. There was a knock on the door, causing Anne to freeze on the spot. Y/N stood from her seat at the kitchen table, moving to answer it. When she opened it, there they stood---Sebastian and Ominis. They were clearly nervous. Sebastian's jaw was clenched hard, and his eyes darted around the room behind her.

Y/N smiled at them, trying to calm them. She opened the door wider, then reached forward to take Sebastian into a hug. "It's so good to see you," she said. The letters she had sent to both the boys had been brief and far in between. She could hardly believe they were here standing before her now. Sebastian returned the hug. She could feel him relax a bit at the warm welcome. Y/N pulled away, then turned to Ominis.

She had to hug him now, didn't she? Not that she didn't want to---quite the opposite, in fact---but they had never---

She forced herself not to think of it and pulled him into a hug. He was stiff for a moment before returning the gesture. He was warm and smelled of fancy soap.

When they pulled away from each other, she found herself missing the contact. But she had other matters to attend. She ushered them both in, closing the door. Sebastian and Anne stared at each other, each unsure of what to do. Then, in a synchronized movement only twins could have, they moved forward to embrace one another. Y/N smiled---that was a good start.

The group shared pleasantries for a moment, but it was clear that the siblings needed to discuss things on their own. Anne lead Sebastian to her bedroom, shooting Y/N a nervous glance. She gave her a reassuring smile in return.

This left Y/N and Ominis alone. Ominis took in a deep breath beside her. "I suppose all we can do now is wait," he said.

"I'm just going to assume it's going well until I hear explosions," Y/N said. Ominis chuckled.

"Sounds fair enough."

She took them over to the kitchen table, both of them taking a seat.

"How's your summer been?" Y/N asked.

"Admittedly, not wonderful," he said. "Sebastian's been... in a bit of state, as I'm sure you can imagine."

Y/N pressed her lips together. "I can. I got as much from his letters. He's lucky to have had you by his side to get through it. Any more mentions of Dark Magic?"

"Thankfully, no. He seems thoroughly dissuaded from that path, having had time to process the results." Y/N was glad to hear it---she had worried about her friend. Ominis continued. "What about you? How has your summer been with Anne?"

"Difficult, at times," she said. "Obviously, she's been grieving, not only her Uncle but Sebastian as well... it's only been recently she's decided that he can't be completely lost." She smiled a bit. "However, I have had my fun in hearing her stories about you three before her curse."

Ominis chuckled. "I hope you don't think any less of us."

"As if I didn't do worse my first year there," Y/N said, grinning. "I actually found most of them very fun--I wish I could have been there. How come you never told me you were so good at nonverbal spells?"

Ominis shrugged. "You never asked."

"Well, you're going to have to teach me," she said. "Oh! And there was one more thing Anne mentioned I wanted to ask you about."

He smiled, intrigued. "And what would that be?"

"Is your puffskein impression as good as she says it is?"

Ominis's face flushed bright red. The reaction made her laugh---it also made her heart beat faster. His cheeks looked rather pretty dusted that shade of pink.

"You---she told you that?" he spluttered, obviously mortified.

"She did, with the utmost respect, too. Said you've probably shortened Duncan Hobhouse's lifespan by a few years from all the frights you gave him," she said through her laughter. "Of all your exploits, that is what I longed to see the most."

"In fairness, Duncan is absolutley dreadful. And a coward," Ominis said.

"So you're confirming it, then? You purr just like a puffskein?"

"I--" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers. "I suppose I am. But only to torture that good for nothing cowardly prick."

She grinned. "Whatever excuse helps you keep your dignity."

"You know, I didn't come here to find out Anne had given you material to blackmail me."

"I won't use it to blackmail you," she said. "Just to rile you up a bit. You look cute when you're flustered."

Her mouth closed quickly as Ominis lifted his head, smirk appearing on his face.

"Oh, do I?" he said, tone teasing. His face was still flushed, making it even harder for her to come up with a proper response.

"You---um... I---"

"I'll have you know, you sound rather cute when you're flustered," he said quietly, leaning a bit closer to her.

She couldn't have guessed what would have happened next, though she very much would have wanted to know. Unfortunately, the door to Anne's bedroom opened, and Ominis sat straight up in his chair. She couldn't imagine the pair of them looked like anything less than a couple of kids caught doing something they weren't supposed to do. That thought was confirmed when Sebastian narrowed his eyes, looking at them both.

"Are you both alright? You seem a bit flustered," Sebastian said. Ominis let out a small laugh while Y/N buried her face in her hands beside him.

any comfort or desire you have on behalf of yourself or fairy traits, like maybe stones that absorb sun energy, plants for nature, literally anything, he’s pulling out that edward cullen card and buying everything

he would definitely buy plants anyways. he likes to see you bend rays of light and things to tend to the plants and it just makes him so happy

theres a fun little game you play, where you turn invisible and he tries to find you in the forest via your thoughts and other senses. when he finds you, he gives you a cheeky smile and a kiss. it’s kinda fun when he thinks he found you but your actually behind him or smth, you get to spook him a little and its very funny to see

see whose stronger. his pride might be a little damaged if your able to win, he’d mumble something about a vampire being weaker then a fairy isn’t very cool, but i think he warms up to the thought very quickly and begins to find it kick ass

wants to see if you could beat jasper and edward in a fight too, and if you win he’s gonna be so proud of you

he feels like a very good match to you. while it isn’t necessarily super cool that vampires sparkle, he loves that in a way it matches you

orbs of light surrounding you like a bunch of stars, casting light on him and making him sparkle, like you guys are the lights of each others life or smth romantic like that

Agreed I refuse to think Carmilla would purposely name him Brian... at least in this timeline. I like how you put that she may have heard his name. Maybe even snooped around for it after he was stable to be certain? I think she certainly either heard the name and assumed/hoped it was his (and further discussed that later if he would want to be called that or to choose a new name, since I'm banking on Carmilla being open about but not very knowledgeable on what happened to Brian) or (the only other option I can think) that she didn't know his name and let Brian choose one himself. At the time, Brian found it to be a very unique and splendid name, maybe even the name of a musical artist he adored. Also idk where we're setting this specific AU but Beauty and The Beast was French right? I don't think Brian was a common first name in 1700's France, so maybe at the time and place of picking it, however Carmilla and Brian got the name, it was special! I still don't think Carmilla would purposely pick Brian without reason tho. I also thought maybe Brian is actually an acronym, but that kinda feels dehumanizing for the mother-son vibes here to me. Going full mama bear yes!!!! Exactly!!! So the village wanted a witch to prosecute? Let her shown them real magic then. And oh after Brian being tied to a tree again... uagh!!!! Brian rides off on horseback and reaches the castle quicker, but Carmillla is close behind and fully tears the mob a new one after they're tossed from the castle. (<- she only isn't immediately following Brian to ensure his and Jonny's well being because she trust Brian to do it right on his own, and following behind protectively, no matter how badly she wants too, could screw the whole thing up for Jonny and everyone else, and she's aware of that as the actual enchantress.)

To be honest the name change was a half asleep joke I made lmao... whoops :). Though I might keep that name for something else entirely unrelated bc it sounds neat. Marius will always be von Ram in my heart (and Lyf has to say von Raum like that. Whether or not it's written in a fic you just know it's said that way). Maybe when someone first points out the meaning of Marius's last name they're like"???? that doesn't make sense???" and suggests the other name to make more sense (idk why. Maybe since Gaston is a hunter so, so is Marius? Or he at least wanders in the woods a lot acting like he's hunting and completely knows what he's doing. totally). Marius is like "no it makes perfect sense" with zero elaboration and ends up on the towns' witch watchlist or something. "We're not certain he's a witch or anything, he's just very odd. Suspcious. Maybe an accomplice to one?" He isn't one yet but he probably will be soon lmao.

GOD everything you wrote about Tim and Lyf and Bertie!!! Sobs........ wails even........... I will also say that I was picturing dialogue between them as I fell asleep last night (brainrot lmao). (Also dialogue is not my strong suit so I'm mostly paraphrasing my thoughts.) Lyf crying, almost completely yelling if they had had the voice to do so, about the pair taking everything. Their home, their loved ones, their culture, everything they knew rubble and waste. (Of course, Tim and Bertie caused the same of their own home, but that was their choice.) They might even have a small, dulled knife brandished in front of where they're curled in on themself as they yell. "You're right," Tim would probably say. "We, well- we didn't choose to fight this war, we never wanted war, we just wanted it to end, but-" "-but it doesn't excuse our actions." Bertie might finish. "We know that. What's done is done though, and right now you're sick and hurt. We only want to help you. We can't bring anything back, but you don't have die here." That's basically what was in my brain last night. (You literally made me scream with "we just wanted it over." btw.)

Also extra tidbit I feel like after they finally convinced Lyf to join them and they make their way out of the ruins of what may have been Lyf's home, they have to lay low and hid out as they travel. So there's DND style quest camping nights. (My brain runs fully on creating images I am cursed to only bring to life through word so bear with me anytime I say I pictured something lmao.) I pictured them, on the first night together, huddled in a cave near the edge of a mountain range in the woods, not far from the ruins but far enough to feel safe enough to crash for the night. They get Lyf settled down first, and one prepares a small fire while the other digs around their bags for anything useful. Water, food, medicine/first aid, clothes, etc. The pair treat what they can, give Lyf medicine or bandage their wounds, whatever they have that Lyf needs. They find rations and water if they're lucky, and settled close to the fire. From the mouth of the cave, they can only see the forest extending before them. Above though, despite everything, it's a clear night. Clear enough to spot constellations or the moon phase, whatever one make be knowledgeable of. An end of year breeze still fills the cave, the lack of day chilling their bones of cold. They keep close to their fire, and close to each other. Who knows what tomorrows brings? Hardships, but hopefully something new, something kind. Even if mistrust and hurt lies between them, they sleep close to each other that night.

(Yes exactly!! Big dumb brothers!! I'm so soft for the protective older brother(s) character trope...... there's something special about the older siblings bullying and beating up their younger siblings but going above and beyond to take care of them in the real world. "The only person/people that can mess with my younger sibling is me/us!" trope!!!!!)

And exactly! I was about to bring up Carmilla being the royal enchantress too! You are actually fully in my head.............. Carmilla being everyone's mom as always. Also putting the taking in servants that way..... I love that so much. I've been watching Dimension 20's Fantasy High a lot recently and this makes me think of Jawbone!!!! (A werewolf NPC who lived a crazy life and got offered the school counselor job by the student PCs, so he fully turned his life around! I adore him.) I felt like Jawbone having an insane and traumatic past makes him far more empathetic and understanding to kids when he becomes the school counselor! Easier for unwilling kids to open up to him when they need to too I feel like. I think sure maybe he shouldn't be as open about certain things with actual 15 years old, but that brutal honesty is refreshing to some kids. Or at least it was for me at that age, considering the random lore drops from my mom lmao.... My point is! Not only are these parents empathetic to the strays they're taking in and giving good work and housing too, but having a "colorful" staff to take care of their kids while they're gone is just really cool! Their past experiences might make it easier to connect to their kids verses people who were trained to be constantly formal. These kids don't really need all these servants, they need genuine people to be there with them when their parents are gone. I went on a bit too long about that but I hope that made sense? ("Jonny! How could you call your own mom a kooky old cunt?! Apologize!!!!")

Also Nastya being close and learning certain charms and stuff, but not being fully an Enchantress, same as Brian. After their parents are gone and Jonny gets worse and worse, Carmilla and Nastya prepare to leave and already has everything planned out with her. Carmilla saying Nastya doesn't have to take the fall, but Nastya insisting. Between the two, Jonny might still listen to Carmilla before Nastya, so she needs him to have less of a grudge against Carmilla when they both leave. Carmilla leaves a few months in advance, returning in secret only the cast the spell with Nastya. Carmilla again asking if she's fully prepared for that, or is she would at least want to stay with Carmilla after all is said and done. Nastya sticks her to plan, though. She pretends to cast the spells, Carmilla does it, and they go their separate ways, but hoping to be reunited again one day under good circumstance.

Jonny loving the little casual braids!! Brian curled into Jonny as he does it gods........Jonny acts aloof and neutral about them but he refuses to have them taken out ever. (Bonus points: final fight scene and Toy's blade nicks a braid clean off, and Jonny is pissed)

Nastya totally has things for everyone! She carried them as a comfort at first, that eventually she'll be able to gift them these. God how ecstatic she would be for that to actually happen in the end!!!! Also when she finally returns and has a chance to pass around her gifts, Marius totally pouts about not getting anything (mostly joking), and she's just like, "Um, I didn't know you??? Do you want this cookie?" and he almost cries.

EVERYTHING YOU WROTE ABOUT HER RETURN!!!!!!! (Also in response to Nastya asking about Marius, Lyf (now finally taller than him) grabs him by the ear, "He's my problem, unfortunately," with a small smile as Marius mumbles "Ouch!! Rude!!!!") Just! Her being so overjoyed to see everyone again!!! So proud and happy Jonny learned how to love!!! Gods!!!!!!! ("So you preferred the beast form then? Even though the curse is lifted? I figured you might..." "It grew on me, okay?" "You were always a weird little creature," "Little!?")

Also about him staying a beast- imagine if after the curse broke, it was similar to Sophie's ageing curse where in the end that part of it became less of a curse and more of his character. But the amount of beast he looks can now shift based on his emotions and stuff after the curse broke, like how Sophie's age fluxuates based on her feelings. Jonny usually remains normal beast sized, because that's how he feels genuine and true, so it takes a while to figure it out. But eventually something happen to make him shift. A nightmare or bad storm throws him into a bad panic, and he becomes smaller and less furry and as he shrinks in on himself. Someone or something endangers Brian and sends him into enough of a fury to almost double in size and become genuinely horrifying to look at. It usually has to be something intense to shift, though. After that they work on him controlling and understanding it better! This is also an aftermath effect Nastya and Carmilla had no idea would happen.

With Marius- Yes exactly!! He felt so embarrassed about his fear of them until he found out they're the Tim and Bertie who demolished two kingdoms..... validation!

Oh yes Raph backstory!!! I love it!!!!! I feel like her getting hired was like "No, we don't really trust you as the doctor, but you're good with knives like that, want to be a chief for now?" which she takes. She does always suggest letting her vivisect people like prisoners who did some seriously bad stuff. It's usually still a no, except for when someone tried to assassinate their kids. They let her have the assassin for whatever she wanted. (Or, if the assassin was hired, let her carve the information out of them to find the person who paid them, so she could have them to study too.) For the most part she might channel that energy into messing with butchered farm animals as she preps for dinner! I can't think of anyone who enjoys processing animals like that, so anyone else in charge of food or livestock probably always lets her have that. Also she has a little sharp knife like glint in her eyes (dangerous curiosity) that terrify people who aren't used to it. Also she might love science stuff in general, but anything like that, namely from a woman, could also be considered witchcraft anyway. So there were many limitations until the castle (she's shocked she even got the doctor role, but that town was pleasantly desperate).

And oh!! I hadn't seen that title idea yet- I like that one more!! The one I tossed in was just a couple stand in relevant words to help me find this post later. The Consequences of Creation and Love. Neat!

What are the big differences in the terms of Arcs in this AU?

The biggest difference is that this au as a whole is meant to be more of a slice of life telling. I just wanted to focus more on the kids being kids and getting to interact more. I wanted the cast of naruto, which I love so much, to get a BREAK and be happy parents. as of right now all the kids are like right out of ninja school. sure they go on missions, but nothing ill keep track of. and no boruto arcs have happened yet if they happen at all. id rather just focus on character bonding and stuff. im not even gonna TOUCH the moon shit tho. you may ask- "then how, whats kawakis deal then?", He was found on the side of the road by sasuke and naruto, who are in love BTW, and adopted him (bc they wanted a kid together for once. and he just looks the part tbh.) naruto and sasuke are better fathers, borutos less of a bitch, orochimarus under house arrest and not running his own lil village (BC IDK WHY WERE LETTING HIM DO THAT), and I do not plan to have these kids go to war with aliens :) this au is quite self indulgent. Mako Mermaids was a great show ( and still is ), it marked a lot of people's childhood and stayed in memory: maybe with a coherent name, or sometimes just as unclear images. And you're lucky if you've picked the first one. Any how you managed to pop up here, today even after all those years, it's seriously good to have you. I'll be direct, I need your help. I don't know for you, but to me Nixie was the best one. She was funny, cute and so herself. Ivy Latimer seemed truly into the character. It was a shame when she just disappeared after the first season, yet no big deal. Don't get me wrong, I knew whatever Ivy was gonna do later I would love as much as I did with mm. The Great Dizi List, Part 2

Her Yerde Sen: This one is a romcom, and the first one I have finished. I LOVED it. Remained cute and soft throughout, the main couple was basically together for ¾ of the show, and ended before things got too silly or ridiculous. Even the requisite break-up wasn’t really a breakup, and I liked that the ending wasn’t the typical dizi cliché. Loved all the side characters and their stories, loved how everything was one big connected story throughout. It's one of those feel good shows, where everything just makes you happy and there's no stress or heartache. Excellently written, dealt with some good themes without being over the top. Very innocent story for sure, but it was great, and I would watch again for sure!

Halka: This one is a mafia drama ostensibly, but I'd say it veers more towards a psychological/family drama really. I literally binged this show in a week. It’s the first one that grabbed me from minute one–I could not stop watching. It was FANTASTIC. It’s hard to compare it to SM, but I’d say it comes the closest. If it wasn’t for the fact that it is a 2.5 hour show in a foreign language, I would 100% recommend this to like, everyone I know. I loved all the characters (even the ones I hated), it NEVER dragged, the acting was phenomenal, the story was super interesting, and I LOVED the main bromance and the main romance. Fantastic. I will never get over Cihangir, Kaan, and Müjde, they are my babies and I will love them forever. I didn’t think anyone could come close to my foursome in Meryem, and yet these three exist. And Bahar, she was precious too. I was tempted to turn around and watch it all over again. Now all I want is season 2.

Yeni Hayat: This one is another family/psychological drama. Essentially about a woman married to a rich but super abusive man, and her body guard and his family. This show is one of those shows where are the elements are there--good plot, great actors, solid writing, good sets, but it just...flops. The subject of abuse is an important one, and I liked what I think they were trying to say, but there as no sparkle, nothing that grabs you it’s just very meh. I mean, tbh it’s worth watching at least the bits with bodyguard and his daughter bc she is a delightful little actress and they are so cute together, but everything else is a pass tbh. It was extremely blah, and since it got cancelled it has no ending. Serkan is still pretty tho.

Muhteşem İkili: This one is a cop dramedy, but it's honestly more of a family drama. I ADORED this show. Like, loved loved loved it. In the interest of honesty, I did not watch literally any of the police plot, I literally just watched it for MKC and his family. It’s a Kerem drama, so of course he was flawless. MKC is basically like if Ali and Serkan had a baby, and I adored him from minute one. His relationship with his son is beautiful, and I adored Kaan so much. I also loved his relationship with his ex-wife–they might have one of the most respectful, mature, and realistic relationships I’ve seen on tv, let alone in dizis. Loved his sister (Özge Gürel was adorable in this) and his relationship with his partner and his dad were great. Beautiful found family trope, and overall just fantastic acting. Cancelled after only 12 episodes so I had a minor meltdown lol, but I’d highly recommend–you can literally just watch the parts with MKC and his family or his sister and get all you need.

Immortals: Look, I’ve watched a lot of things for an actor I’ve loved, and this is no exception. This was bad. I love Kerem, but this is gonna be a whole yikes from me. (Tbf I also watched two of his more recent movies which were also bad). Like…maybe I am just not here for vampires anymore idk.

Azize: This one was also ostensibly a mafia drama, but got cancelled at episode 6. Hande was excellent in this, and it was a different kind of role for her I think, which was great. Her character was actually really interesting and I was curious to see where it was going. Unfortunately, the show was terribly written. The script was extremely one note and basic, and literally told you everything so there was nothing to wonder or speculate on. The lead man came off as much, much older than her and they had no chemistry. I didn’t finish episode 4 tbh.

Içerde: This one is another mafia/family drama, mostly focused on the relationship with two brothers (who don't know they are brothers). This was was excellent, but it went on for just about 15 episodes too many. The plot dragged after about 20, and I didn't get enough of the stuff I wanted as a result. But the acting was truly spectacular from the whole cast, and I would recommend on the basis of that alone. Truly, truly excellent writing and acting, and a very satisfying conclusion.

damn its been a long time since i rewatched where no man has gone before it was never an episode i liked much as a kid so it rarely made it into the rotation but it is really fascinating to watch i do actually really like most of it the ends a bit silly but its so interesting seeing like spock almost act like a security officer i feel like in some way hes being the spiritual ancestor of tuvok tho its pretty immediately dropped i do also wildly prefer this like take on the officer meetings and found it very interesting one that sulu was originally a science officer and that he was able to just deliver his technobabble as like part of a whole group of experts and it feels very collaborative which i think is one thing i really dont care for with spock being science officer and smartest person on the ship is the way he has to be the one delivering all the important relevant information and seems to know almost everything and nobody else has anything of as much value to offer i think that was partly because of the stupid power struggle between shatner and nimoy trying to get as many lines as possible but also just the change of direction of the writing because of the popularity of spock but its also sort of strange that like the result of this also is that in every subsequent episode and star trek show they pretty much make the main cast essentially have all the knowledge always and rarely use like limitations in what they know as part of broader characterization for the supporting cast or to give u know single episode characters a lot more to do and feel vital to their role on the ship like interesting comparing like this to say space seed where marla mcgivers is supposed to be the historian but the way the script validates her knowledge is by spock also knowing so much about history and giving the rundown on that which like undermines her importance and frankly is just kind of boring that u know spock doesnt have knowledge gaps and doesnt have a specialty or focus in the same way as well as comparing like marla mcgivers to elizabeth dehner in where no man has gone before like one elizabeth is always given the moments to talk about her specialty and presented as the authority and also though she is slowly becoming a bit evil and undermining the ship its not really framed the same way as like marla mcgivers or the romulan commander or say how nurse chapel is always portrayed as so pathetic like it is more she is coming into her own powers and becoming a bit more disconnected from humanity than just her stupid woman brain making her fall in love and lose her judgement like its definitely a bit of both but fjfja;ks its interesting each subsequent iteration of the show just takes away more dignity or authority from the women in the show idk its all extremely interesting also with dr mccoy not being in the show yet and spock being less prominent of a character its interesting getting a glimpse at the more ensemble nature the show could have potentially taken like also the random red shirt or i guess peach sweater who got killed had way more lines than the usual random death... idk all very fascinating

anyway, speaking about johnny boy i was thinking about him + nibbles and our like collective desicion that he is essiently a cat and it is really weirdly fitting that it just makes me like ???? so like cats themselves are a reoccuring motif within the game from the start, when u go to viks, when ur chatting up takemura and at the end with the rooftop that also doubles as like the millionith matrix reference. they follow v and they take up the role of the bakeneko, which i think in the game is defined by them appearing near death ? or just disaster. the obvious thing is that it is to do with v's inpending death and their whole sitation but like the general point is like the cat symbolises the death that follows v as the cat follows them. this puts johnny in an interesting sitation from his catlike nature to how he seems to like and get along with nibbles, he is linked with cats. he is also the parasite that is killing v. he is V's bakeneko. their signal of death. the events start because of his relic, jackie dies for him, and soon does most of the cast from act 1, and a large part of the death from then on is a direct result of them trying to solve the relic and johnny's whole presence is a signal for hey v ur fucking dying. he is death for them. the bakeneko.

makes me wonder if his catlike attributes were intentionally done cause that boy aint right or we just accidently walked on a really thematic fitting landmind

Spoilers within, again, also leave my sleeping schedule alone, I do not function. Additionally, I have a lot to say about Nibbles, omens, cats, and pets then how they all relate back to Johnny so congrats on opening a flood gate my friend!

 think the thematic thing with Johnny and cats and the bakeneko has to 1000000 percent be intentional, because he even sees a cat when Alt is kidnapped. And that goes back to Cyberpunk Red. Like that was used and utilized and then became such a large part of the story. 

Johnny is clearly meant to be a bakeneko; he’s actively next to the cat in that conversation, leaves when it does, see the same cat before Alt’s death, and is again the visual representation of what is happening to V. He is the symbol of their death, whether he wants to be or not. 

I think it’s also interesting to note, the Bakeneko, which is described as an omen of death and misfortune isn’t the only way we see cats used thematically within the game. Albeit, this way is more subtle and perhaps intentionally so. We also see the maneki-neko; the lucky cat statues are everywhere in game. In V’s apartment, Misty’s shop, Vik’s clinic. Everyyyyyywhereeeeee. 

So, we see two mythological cats from Japanese culture. One brings misfortune and one brings good luck. And Johnny exemplifies both. 

Johnny is a visual representation of all that is destroying V. His mere existence and presence a constant reminder that their death is around the corner. An ever present omen that V’s clock is ticking. He also often pops up to have a comment just before massive relic malfunctions and disasters. The end of every main game quest is punctuated with a relic malfunction and a lecture from Johnny. 

But without the chip and by extension Johnny, V would already be dead. If the chip hadn’t been the exact right place to be damaged and activated by the gunshot; it would have killed V right then and there. And while this wasn’t an active choice on Johnny’s part, he is the visual representation of the chip. Even then, he later does make an active choice to save V’s life. When V is hit with the worst malfunction yet; Johnny grabs them, “you aren’t dying yet, I got you” and he takes them to safety. He refuses to watch V seize and die in a puddle of their own sick in the middle of nowhere (for me it’s always at the sunset hotel, idk if this changes based on the order you do the events tho) So, he takes control, he eases their pain and takes them somewhere safe, somewhere that means something to him, and swears to die for them. 

Luck both good and bad. Fortune and misfortune. A sign of better days and an omen of death. A maneki-neko and a bakeneko. The time bomb in V’s head and the guy who saved their life. He is both. 

Now, stepping away from the mythological aspects. Lets talk about Nibbles the cat, Johnny, and pets within Cyberpunk 2077. Animals and by extension pets are considered a luxury in Night City. They’re taxed to fuck and back, generally only the wealthy can have them. Its also often brought up that real friends and family who stick by you are very difficult to come by. V becomes through Nibbles one of the rare people to have a pet. One of the other people who had a pet is, Barry their neighbor. 

Barry and his mission is one of the first you can unlock and see in the game. He’s V’s downstairs neighbor and his story is played out so fucking similarly to V’s. Barry lost his best friend, he’s quit his job because he can’t handle the weight of the NCPD’s corruption, and he’s thinking of taking his own life.  V has lost Jackie, its stated in game they get less work than usual because of Konpeki (cant be put on a crew), and very early on can say to Misty “be better off putting in my head”. 

But for Barry that friend ends up being a pet tortoise. And its clear what that tortoise represents; a constant companion, a safe place, and a comfort. Something Barry couldn’t find among his peers until later on when they learn just how much he’s been hurting. And this is treated as such a tragedy, that he only has a pet to turn to. 

And so V gets a cat, because they too are fucking hurting and having a little meowing bundle of skin running around their apartment helps. Something to come home to, something to make that apartment a little less empty, a little more alive. 

So, how does this particular aspect of Nibbles/cats/pets relate to Johnny, I hear you wondering (as well as wondering when Im going to shut up). Well, we know Johnny is linked symbolically with cats and thats the choice of pet for V. And we knows pets have been likened to support without judgement; a companion who you can tell everything too and they won’t abandon you. 

And while Johnny has heaps of judgment and is a dick. He is V’s only constant companion. I know a good junk of people don’t like him or his commentary; but imagine V’s life without Johnny in it through the game events. Imagine how lonely they’d be. 

Johnny is the only one who knows everything and is there with V from the start to the final moments in Mikoshi. 

Vik and Misty know, but they’re no edgerunners, they have no idea everything V is doing out there. Part of why as much as I do love Vik, his frustration with V hurts so much in the end because he talks like V hasn’t done anything to save themselves. Because, Vik doesn’t know what V’s been doing this whole time. 

Each part of the main quests in Act 2 are linked to an NPC; Judy, Panam, and Takemura. And not one of them know or are there throughout the entirety of V’s journey. Judy doesn’t get told the full details of what’s happening until later in and stops helping V one Evelyn is saved. Panam doesn’t learn the full details or anything really about the chip until much later. And her quests become her own personal journey once V finds Hellman. And then depending on V’s choices, Panam can come in to help at the end. Takemura knows V is dying and is there to help with the parade and then he’s gone; either dead or in hiding. He refers to anything that doesn’t involve him as V’s shady dealings and leaves it at that. He’s there to interrogate Hellman but he doesn’t know all V did to find him. None of them know everything, none of them have been there the whole time. And that’s not a condemnation of them, I do not expect them to drop everything to be glued to V’s side 24/7 but, I can’t fucking imagine how alone V feels. 

River has no involvement in any main quests and only finds out anything if V chooses to romance him. Kerry knows what Johnny told him and depending on the ending may even leave V. Again, wanna be clear, that isn’t a condemnation on his character. I understand why he does this and i understand his hurt and how it led him to that. 

But this is about how truly fucking alone V is in all of this. Not a single person there start to finish, not a single person knowing all that they have suffered, all that they have been through and are going through. 

Except Johnny. He tells V in the oil fields, closest to him by far, there 24/7, yet they don’t seem to hate him. And he’s that for V too; there the entire way, their demon never leaving.  Johnny knows everything happening; because he’s part of what’s happening. He’s been there through every struggle, every step, every slap in the face as V’s tried to save themselves. Has felt their pain as they lose themselves, has known the people who’ve had to die for them to get this far, as felt their heart break when all they found was betrayal by the Voodoo Boys, Ai Alt asking how V’s life is her problem, getting recommended a hospice by Hellman. 

And as dickish as he is, his comments help. V always has someone there, as much as he sucks. He always has something stupid or naggy to say to help keep some of that weight off their shoulders. Imagine if they didn’t even have that. If Johnny never talked to them, never showed his face. 

A constant companion, like a supportive pet cat except he can talk and did a lot of meth. 

And this is a sidenote that has nothing to do with cats specifically, but that through Samurai music this isn’t the first time Johnny could be compared to an omen. Its no secret that the music was largely created around the game and as such, many of his songs have direct parallels and messages related to the game. Never Fade Away while in universe written in regards to Alt’s death also has so much in common with his journey with V. This brings me to the song Black Dog.

“Black Dog inside my head, guiding me until the end.”

Black Dogs are figures in Irish Mythology  who much like bakeneko’s are talked about in game; are omens of death and misfortune. I just find it interesting I suppose, like Johnny is either a dirty alley cat or a big mangy dog, but either way he’s here cause someones about to die.

knowing this is win’s first series and both him and bright can play off of each others acting so well rly hits different i cannot believe the chemistry they have to be able to do that

hiii anon!!! right?! they ... literally bounce off each other. and icb there were people out there doubting them 2 and if whether they both had enough, or any, chemistry between them at all in order to be able to pull it off playing tine and sarawat.

and i look at brightwin now .......................... and they OOZE chemistry in the way that 2 best best best friends do. and its really a testament to how slowly they got to know one another.

idk if i’ve ever mentioned how they began. but. okay so. gmm hold this annual outing every year, where everyone in the company goes out and just ... has a weekend off, ya know? so. back in february 2019 last year, win already knew at that point that he was gonna be in 2gether and bright was gonna be his co-star. bright only knew that he was gonna be in 2gether, but he had NO idea who his co-star was. all he knew was that his name was win, but he didn’t know that win was gonna be cast as his romantic love interest? so. win went up to bright, lmao, and greeted him, and he even says just how SCARED he was at meeting bright for the first time bc bright seemed SO SO intimidating to him, even tho he was vaguely familiar with bright bc a senior friend of his was friends with bright, and win had seen bright on this mutual friend’s ig from way back in 2014. so he knew who bright was, name to face wise, but meeting bright was a Whole Ordeal for him, bc ....... lmaoooo ..... bright saw win, looked him up to down head to toe, asked him “you’re win, right?”, and win was like “yeah i’m win.”. bright went, “hmmmm.” and then he walked away with his toe laew squad (it’s a travel show he was hosting with a few people including gunsmile and first), and left win.

then, fast forward to october/november 2019, and they had to do these workshops, like all actors have to do. and bright says that thats when his heart really warmed up to win, bc he saw just how dedicated win was and how serious he was about this. like, with the weight loss, and then win would always text bright saying “p’! i’m free, if you wanna spend time together to go over scripts or book in an extra workshop, then we can!”. and bright was like, thats when ... yeah, he really really became so fond of win. and then as time went on they both really really began properly hanging out with one another, bc they share similar hobbies like playing football or boxing, or win usually goes over and stays over at bright’s condo where they play fifa and stuff.

so yeah, they just ..... became such good friends! and then win went and surprised bright with a cake on his birthday that he had delivered on set bc win wasn’t shooting that day, and then bright video called him and told him he wanted him to come and deliver it to him bc its the first time ever that a guy gifted him a cake on his birthday! they just ....... yeah, became such good friends that joke around and tease each other relentlessly but they’re so so fond of each other.

and bright’s a huge introvert, and he says that he can only ever speak comfortably to people if he’s extremely close to them, and if you see in any interview or livestream, bright just ... Talks. So Much. and win is more passive and lets bright talk. and bright is always so .... !!!!! adamant that he makes sure he always tells people to hype win up too, not just him bc he loves his lil nong so much and wants the best for him too!

and they’ve both literally hinted that there’s a lot of stuff coming up for them both together long term, so they’re not going anywhere just yet. and its so nice that they both found one another and have one another bc everytime something has happened, they both straight away respond to one another and make sure the other is okay and support them.

and alllllllllll that chemistry gets so WELL translated on screen, with just how COMFORTABLE and OPEN they both are. they bounce off one another SO well that they can improvise just about ANY situation, and that takes v v v good understanding and chemistry in order for it work every single time. they’re not awkward at all. and icb there were people that said they’re Too Straight To Play A BL Couple. what does that even mean. like ........................ have yall SEEN brightwin these last few months? they OOZE chemistry! they wild out and talk about how much they love each others lips (win) and back (bright) and how handsome they both find one another so much so that literally interviewers sometimes just look at them like O.O okay lmao ...... but no oh man. I LOVE THEM. we are honestly SO SO BLESSED that we got brightwin for sarawatine. couldn’t have asked for anyone better than those 2.
