子供部屋作りのアイデア満載なオンラインショップ
Tumblr media
その名も「THIS MODERN LIFE」です。

Hey dork
if you like good movies, especially foreign movies, Hulu Plus has over 800 Criterion Collection titles available. I discovered this as a result of forgetting to cancel my trial subscription. This is nice because Netflix's selection of foreign movies tends to be kind of lame.
The challenge now is to find a CC film that isn't going to make me want to kill myself.
Perhaps I'll just put on Ab Fab WHICH THEY HAVE ALL OF

Little Tot's Obsession | The Moon
On our wedding night, back in July on the lovely Isle of Wight, we kept Judy up past her bed time for a celebratory dinner. We wondered back to our cars in darkness & stayed chatting to friends for a little while. Judy caught her first acknowledged glimpse of the moon. It was as bright a moon as I had ever seen & looked abnormally larger than usual. On such a clear night the stars were a twinkling too, but it was the moon that caught Judy's enthusiasm at 15 months old.
Tumblr media
I had picked up Modern Life's business card at The Most Curious Kids Fair, with this above 'Für Neil' print on by Martin Krusche & was using it as a bookmark. After Judy had shown her love for the moon I put it above her bed & eventually purchased the print. It's now a nightly ritual to say 'nanight' to.
Tumblr media
She points it out in every book, every film - loves Disney's Peter Pan (above image from Pinterest) & 101 Dalmations for the amazing moon scenes. Once the night starting drawing in as soon as that sun went down Judy was by the doors pointing & saying 'moon moon'.
Tumblr media
I stumbled upon these brilliant moon pyjamas by the great Danish Company Pop Up Shop & seeing as we are lucky enough to have quite a large extended family I put them on Judy's Christmas list from UK stockist 1965 Kids.
Tumblr media
The above has also made it to Judy's Christmas list. A battery powered wall mounted moon lamp. Remote controlled to show the phases of the moon. It also has an automatic shut off after 30 mins - brilliant for a night light! I hope she loves them!
The moon in all its wonder is a great interest for the little'un to have. We are very lucky to live close to Mill Hill Observatory (we were fortunate enough to have a tour a couple of years back) - so if the obsession continues we can take her there in a few years to see the telescopes at work!

.
My final days in Spain, ticking, ticking.  I meditatively observe and absorb, all the mess and pause and pull, the beat of the sun and rising tides, a time like all else, lost, found, released.

If you want to be able to call yourself a progressive and mean it you have to accept it's hard. You are setting yourself up against the society you belong to. To an extent you're biting the hand that feeds you. But it is still feeding you.
The following is a post by Gawker user Marzelline, in response to The Advocate's recent editorial, "In Defense of the Gay White Male" (via Jezebel)
Full text:
I think the moral is; if you want to be able to call yourself a progressive and mean it you have to accept it's hard. You are setting yourself up against the society you belong to. To an extent you're biting the hand that feeds you. But it is still feeding you. When people call you for the privilleged position which members of your class/race/gender/gender idendity inhabit in a given, they're not talking about you personally; they're talking about society generally. For example, to have white privillege in a racist society does not make you a 'bad person'; it makes it a bad a system. You benifit from this system- directly and indirectly in that certain things are less likely to happen to you. You can (you should! perhaps you do!) make a concious effort to offset some of this or reject the bits it's in your personal power to reject. But you can't opt out of it, any more than a black person could just opt out of racism. It's not about a personal good behaviour. We see it in such a weird Calvenist way. It's not about your personal conversion; your own good deeds. We don't change the the world simply by changing our hearts. It's not about our good intentions. It's about lasting, far-reaching, deep societal change. And sometimes it's feels like people are being spiteful when they reject your good intentions. But consider how little good intentions have done them so far. I white and from a middle-class background. And panicking about my future I'm going to cling like a liferaft to the advantages I have a result of my background. Yes, I'm a woman and I'm gender non-comforming I guess (I mean, I'm kind of bookish and intense with my short hair and glasses and my dad's old clothes- but that's hardly renegade). I'm gay. But it's like the curdling I get in my stomach when people tell me they're tolerant of me (people like me)(what the fuck does that mean?). I tolerate the mice that appear periodically in my flat- it helps that they don't give me a choice; but it doesn't make it their flat. But if I said this, people would feel upset- because they meant to do right by me. It's just they think I tacitly accept that they rightfully have the power over me to be able to make that decision to tolerate me or not. Read more: http://jezebel.com/comment/36326878/#ixzz1Caw6qOOF
